Reader’s Links for July 9, 2020

Daily Links Post graphic

Each day at just after midnight Eastern, a post like this one is created for contributors and readers of this site to upload news links and video links on the issues that concern this site. Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

This is the new Samizdat. We must use it while we can.

  1. Some 20 Soldiers Died in Suspected Boko Haram Attack in Northeastern Nigeria – Reports (sputniknews, Jul 9, 2020)
    https://sputniknews.com/africa/202007091079834562-some-20-soldiers-died-in-suspected-boko-haram-attack-in-northeastern-nigeria—reports/

“At least 20 soldiers have been killed and a few injured as insurgents ambushed an army convoy in northeastern Nigeria, Daily Trust newspaper reported on Wednesday, citing its sources.

According to the news outlet, the surprise attack, allegedly carried out by the Boko Haram Islamist group, took place on a highway 30 kilometres away from the town of Damboa in the Borno state on Tuesday.

“It was so sad, our troops went on clearing operations on the way back to Damboa at 30 kilometers away, the terrorists laid an ambushed and shots from every angle. We lost more than a dozen soldiers. The corpses of the soldiers have been evacuated to Maiduguri as well as those who sustained injures. They are currently receiving treatment in the military facility”, a security source said, as quoted by Daily Trust.

However, Defence Media Operations Coordinator Major-General John Enenche was quoted as saying that only two troops died, while four were wounded in the gunfight, adding that the Army outflanked and engaged the militants with an overwhelming volume of firepower, forcing them to withdraw in disarray.

The government forces “neutrilized” 17 members of the terrorist group during the encounter, the newspaper reported, citing military officials.

In 2009, Boko Haram launched an armed insurrection against the Nigerian government to introduce sharia law throughout the country. In 2015, one of its factions aligned itself with the Daesh* terrorist group.

  3. Has time accelerated since the CCP WMD began? Huge events, events that if taken alone would have been major stories for Time magazine or any other antiquated news source, just zip on by. 1000 Black Panthers go for a walk fully armed? Gone. There are too many big stories. Does is mean we are in a period of upheaval? Or is this impression my own defect?

It is difficult for me to slot a past event accurately. What big events happened this past May? April? I know they happened but I’m not sure what or when they were. I’m guessing.

When the shut-down and self-isolation began, was that the start of the blurring of time, hence the impression of the acceleration of it? How does time pass for prisoners?

That Ottawa U prof posted yesterday talking about the uselessness of masks is a courageous man. He says the medical community is very aware of the uselessness of masks in preventing the spread of disease. Why push something that does more harm than good? Nobody cares what your mask is made of so long as you wear one? That’s a bad joke. Where’s it even written that I must wear it on my face? How ’bout I wear it on my arse in case I fart?

Fart. Fart. What a great word. Is it an onomatapoeia? I digress.

My take on the altered rate of time travel, being forced to wear harmful masks, and most other data points that may confound us, is that if we are not the victims of a state-sponsored psy-op, what would our world look like if we truly were?

    Data point: selective reporting:

From the gvdeo: “Quarantine is only a word for when you’re sick.”

          That’s not true.

Say on a ship, when we have no idea who has the plague, everyone goes to their room to wait and see who gets sick.

And most countries started this same way. Should the police have enforced cufews? Well, no… if… governments did not then have to fund to scrape people off the floor.

And that’s the equation: rights and responsibilities.

          For utopian fulfilments:

Communism takes away all rights, but then holds all the responsibilities. A population of non-persons of working slaves, and their Party is a Person. Godzilla.

islam has all the dead-answers. Their dhimmis have no living ones Allah is Right, Shatan is Responsible.

Sexsquirrality has all the rights and non of the responsibilities. Someone is injecting themselves and others deliberately spreading the virus to birth a new life that is not their own.

And as for yourself: be your own government, as you have already been for your own family and friends; to walk two miles instead of one.

          • OK and those who have all the responsibilities and non of the rights? That’s Socialism. The Deep Swamps that suck otf their hosts.

  4. Saudi-Led Coalition Reportedly Destroys Pair of Explosive-Laden Boats Off Yemen (sputniknews, Jul 9, 2020)
    https://sputniknews.com/middleeast/202007091079836673-saudi-led-coalition-reportedly-destroys-two-explosive-laden-remote-controlled-boats-off-yemen/

“The operation comes a day after US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo announced that ‘US and partner forces’ had seized an arms shipment containing nearly two dozen air and land attack missiles destined for the Houthi militia, and claimed that the shipment came from Iran. Tehran did not immediately respond, but has previously denied similar claims.

The Saudi-led coalition in Yemen has destroyed a pair of explosive-laden remote controlled boats in the Red Sea about 6 km off the western Yemeni port city of As-Salif, Saudi media has reported.

The unmanned “booby-trapped boats” were said to have posed an imminent threat to local shipping lanes and a danger to regional and international security.

Col. Turki al-Maliki, press spokesman for the Saudi-led coalition in Yemen, accused the Houthis of using their positions in Yemen’s coastal al-Hudaydah governorate to launch ballistic missiles, drones and booby-trapped and remote-controlled boats to attack passing ships, and of engaging in the random deployment of sea mines in the adjacent Red Sea “in flagrant violation of international humanitarian law” and the Stockholm Agreement on a Yemeni ceasefire.

The report comes less than 24 hours after US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo announced that US and allied forces had intercepted a weapons shipment off Yemen destined for the Houthi militia on June 28, containing 200 RPGs, over 1,700 assault rifles, 21 surface to air and land attack missiles, and several anti-tank missiles. The US reported seizing two more arms-laden vessels off Yemen in November 2019 and February this year, and has blamed Iran for both of the deliveries.

While expressing moral support for the Houthis, Iran has denied that it has provided the militia with arms, pointing to the virtually impenetrable blockade of Yemen by the Saudi-led coalition and US forces…”

      – West Vancouver Police has obtained video of a black car that is suspected of leaving tire marks across the crosswalk

      – The vehicle being sought be police is a 1999-2004 Ford Mustang

WEST VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) — A Pride crosswalk in West Vancouver was defaced with tire marks Tuesday, a week after being unveiled.

Around 4 p.m. Tuesday, staff inside the West Vancouver Police station heard a loud and sustained squealing sound.

West Vancouver Police has obtained a video of a black car that is suspected of leaving the tire marks across a portion of the Pride crosswalk at the intersection of 16th Street and Esquimalt Avenue.

The car sped off and was not located, but the department is now investigating.

“This is very upsetting,” Cst. Kevin Goodmurphy says in a release. “For whatever reason, this person has chosen to leave a gesture of hate on a crosswalk that stands for the exact opposite.”

The vehicle being sought by police is a 1999-2004 Ford Mustang, black with red racing stripes along the top and sides, with a rear spoiler and hood scoop.

Two people appeared to be in the vehicle.

“We have had nothing but support from community members following the installation of the crosswalk, and we know that those people represent the majority,” says Goodmurphy.

  7. Libyan Migrant Arrested After Stabbing Women and Trying to Rape Them (breitbart, Jul 9, 2020)
    https://www.breitbart.com/europe/2020/07/09/libyan-migrant-arrested-stabbing-women-trying-rape-them/

“A 20-year-old Libyan migrant has been accused of attempting to rape three women in one night, slashing and stabbing one of his victims nine times.

The attacks occurred over the night of June 28th and the early morning of June 29th in the city of Bordeaux, but details have only just been revealed this week.

Police were first alerted to the man at around 3:45 a.m. on the 29th after an attempted rape was reported in the area of the Cours du Médoc. The woman claimed she had been attacked on the street by a man and provided a description to police before being taken to a local hospital.

The description allowed police to identify and arrest the Libyan migrant a short time later, who also received medical treatment due to a hand injury, 20 Minutes reported on Wednesday.

After the arrest, two other women came forward reporting to have also been sexually attacked that night near to the area the first attack was reported.

One, a 24-year-old named Caroline, claimed that the man had stabbed her and slashed her with a knife nine times, cutting her in the face, neck, and torso.

The illegal Libyan migrant has since been charged with “attempted rape by a person who is manifestly intoxicated, attempted rape with violence, attempted murder, violence by a person who is manifestly intoxicated, and violence on a person holding public authority”.

The violent attacks came just days after Bordeaux saw a series of seven separate stabbings over just two hours last month. Of the seven people attacked, five were taken to local hospitals with serious injuries.

Rapes, attempted rapes, and violent crimes saw a surge across France last year, with the French Interior Ministry’s statistics service SSMI reporting that violent sexual crimes had increased by 12 per cent in 2019.”

  8. Pro-India leader, 2 family members killed in Kashmir (abcnews, Jul 9, 2020)
    https://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/pro-india-leader-family-members-killed-kashmir-71689546

“Unidentified assailants fatally shot a pro-India politician in Kashmir along with his father and brother, police said, in the first major attack against members of India’s ruling party in the disputed region.

Police blamed militants fighting against Indian rule in Kashmir for the attack late Wednesday.

Militants fired at Sheikh Wasim Bari, a leader of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Bharatiya Janata Party in northwestern Bandipora town, police said in a statement. It said “during indiscriminate firing,” Bari, his brother and father were injured and later died at a hospital. Bari’s brother and father also were BJP members.

The shooting was the first major attack against members of India’s ruling Hindu nationalist party in the Muslim-majority Kashmir valley. Bari, who was about 35 years old, was an executive council member of the party in the region.

He helped the BJP strengthen its base in the region and was considered the face of the party in Bandipora district.

According to police, at least two assailants fired at the three outside their home, about 100 meters (yards) from the town’s main police station.

Bari was guarded by at least eight police officers, but it was unclear whether they were present at the time of the shooting.

Government forces cordoned off the area and launched a search for the attackers, police said.

Ram Madhav, the party’s national general secretary, said in a tweet that he was “shocked and saddened” by the killings.

No rebel group claimed responsibility for the attack…”

  9. Burkina Faso’s volunteer fighters are no match for jihadists (abcnews, Jul 9, 2020)
    https://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/burkina-fasos-volunteer-fighters-match-jihadists-71686707

“Armed only with a knife, Issa Tamboure was no match for gun-wielding jihadists who attacked his village in northern Burkina Faso in March.

So Tamboure, 63, rounded up his family — including his 13 children — and ran, eventually reaching a camp for people displaced by violence.

But Tamboure was not a typical civilian fleeing the extremists linked to al-Qaida and the Islamic State organization who have been dramatically escalating their attacks in the West African nation in recent years. He is among the volunteers who signed up with Burkina Faso’s military to help fight the militants.

But his plight shows the program’s weakness: With little training, few weapons, and dwindling means amid an economic downturn fueled by the coronavirus pandemic, volunteers now say they are unable to adequately battle the well-armed extremists.

“When you don’t have enough to eat, you don’t have enough strength to use a rifle,” said Tamboure, running his fingers over the family’s tattered tent in a makeshift displacement camp in Kongoussi, about 15 miles (25 kilometers) from his home. He said the number of volunteers who patrol a swath between his village and the camp at night has fallen in recent months to around 200 from 500.

For years, Burkina Faso was spared the kind of Islamic extremism that hit neighboring Niger and Mali, where a 2013 French-led military intervention dislodged jihadists from power in several major towns. But deaths from attacks in the country have risen from about 80 in 2016 to over 1,800 in 2019, according to the United Nations. Burkina Faso’s military has struggled to contain the violence despite training and aid from the French and U.S. militaries.

In an attempt to bolster the army, the government passed a law to arm civilians in January. Many towns have no government or military presence, leaving only this corps of volunteers to protect their villages.

Armed with a few hunting rifles and knives, the fighters patrol the surrounding bush and escort displaced civilians back to their villages to plant crops or pick up belongings or to other areas to visit relatives. In Kongoussi last month, residents told The Associated Press they were grateful for the patrols.

“Even if I’m a little afraid, I feel safer with the volunteers,” said Souleiman Soule, 44.

But several volunteer fighters in hard hit areas in the north and west of the country told the AP that because of the economic downturn caused by the pandemic they no longer have money to buy gas for their motorbikes to conduct patrols.

Analysts are concerned that restrictions on movement imposed to control the virus will make it harder for the volunteer fighters to receive equipment and supplies, thus emboldening the militants, especially in rural areas.

“The security forces are already overwhelmed, under-resourced, and have a bad reputation,” said Laith Alkhouri, an intelligence specialist who researches violent extremists in West Africa. “Any shortage or delays in manpower will require the army to divert important resources to fill the gap of the volunteer groups, making them unable to get in front of the violence.”

Meanwhile, the volunteers have been targeted by the jihadists. In the western region of Boucle du Mouhoun last month, several people told the AP that volunteer fighters were being killed in the markets.

Such attacks were predictable, say experts.

“As long as you decide to establish community defense mechanisms, they’re systemically going to become threats and the targets of these (extremist) groups,” said William Assanvo, senior researcher with the Institute for Security Studies.

A ragtag group of volunteers won’t be able to stop Burkina Faso’s cycle of violence, he said. And there’s some evidence they are contributing to it.

The proliferation of armed men across the country — including the military, the government-sanctioned volunteers, and also ad hoc community defense groups — has led to an increase in extrajudicial killings, say rights groups.

Graves containing at least 180 bodies and remains were found in Djibo, and there is evidence suggesting government security forces were involved in the slayings, Human Rights Watch said this week. Djibo is home to many Fulanis, an ethnic group whose members are predominantly Muslim and have been targeted over allegations they are affiliated with Islamist groups.

Allegations of human rights abuses by volunteers have also been “rampant,” said Ousmane Diallo, West Africa researcher for Amnesty International.

“Volunteer fighters are problematic and have led to more violence and reprisal,” said Diallo.

Neither the government nor the army responded to repeated requests from the AP for comment.

But fighters struggling to protect their communities say they need more government support.

In the northern town of Ouahigouya, an 18-year-old said his community received arms to help the army fight extremists in November — before the government officially began its volunteer program — but then soldiers took back the weapons, leaving villagers with little to defend themselves and now marked as targets for retaliation. The teen, who helped fight, spoke on condition of anonymity because he is afraid for his safety.

“These tactics make us vulnerable to terrorists,” he said, hanging his head. “We think the soldiers are creating more problems than solutions.””

  18. Proposed Democrat Platform Gives U.S. Asylum to the World’s Migrants (breitbart, Jul 9, 2020)
    https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2020/07/08/proposed-democrat-platform-amnesty-for-all-illegals-asylum-for-worlds-migrants/

“A proposed policy platform for the Democrat Party, drafted by supporters of presumed Democrat presidential nominee Joe Biden and Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT), would give asylum to the world’s migrants — inviting them all to the United States to live and work.

The document, known as the Biden-Sanders Unity Task Force Recommendations, would provide amnesty and a pathway to U.S. citizenship to the 11 to 22 million illegal aliens living in the nation and welcome hundreds of millions of the world’s migrants.

The proposed Democrat platform would expand asylum for migrants arriving at the U.S.-Mexico border, freeing them into the interior of the nation while they await their hearings. Gallup research from 2018 finds that nearly 160 million migrants around the world would move to the U.S. if given the opportunity — five million of which are located in Central America.

Likewise, the plan ends construction of the border wall, halts deportations for illegal aliens, ends all travel bans on national security-risk nations, China, Europe, Brazil, and Iran, ends agreements between the U.S. and Central America to reduce illegal immigration, and ends most federal detention of illegal aliens.

    The plan also calls for:

Restarting DACA for young illegal aliens
Restraining DAPA for the illegal parents of DACA illegal aliens
Rescinding Trump’s “national emergency” at the border
    Increasing refugee resettlement
Gives Obamacare to DACA illegal aliens
Forces Americans to subsidize welfare-dependent legal immigration
Expands the scandal-plagued U visa program
    Restarts employment-based green card system
The massive expansion of illegal and legal immigration — in addition to the hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens and more than 2.5 million legal immigrants and foreign workers added to the U.S. population every year — would come as more than 35 million Americans are unemployed or underemployed.

An amnesty for all illegal aliens, expansion of asylum, more refugee resettlement, and continued admissions of employment-based green cards would mean tens of millions more foreign nationals for whom unemployed Americans would have to compete for jobs against.

Oppositely, Trump has halted a series of visa programs to reduce foreign competition against unemployed blue-collar and white-collar Americans. The plan, industry insiders say, will drive up U.S. wages and create an economic model where businesses bid for employees with better benefits, better working conditions, and higher pay.”

  19. Germany: Berlin police raid Rigaer Strasse 94 squat

Police forces raided the famous left-wing Rigaer Strasse 94 housing project in Berlin, on Thursday.

Some 200 police officers, most of them in full riot gear, arrived at the Friedrichshain neighbourhood at 7 a.m. local time and blocked the so-called “Dorfplatz” (‘village square’ in German) on the corner of Rigaer Strasse and Liebigstrasse.

Officers had to use special equipment including a circular saw to get inside one of the apartments.

“Two investigation proceedings have been launched: the first one on grievous bodily harm, the second – falsification of a document,” said Anja Dierschke, Berlin police spokesperson, who was present at the site.

She added that “when police officers arrived today around 7 a.m. to conduct raids, there was no resistance against police actions.”

One of the residents of the squat could be seen throwing some objects from his balcony at police officers downstairs, shortly before the law enforcement units broke into his flat.

Police officers also confiscated some fireworks from one of the apartments. During the operation residents of the nearby squat at Liebigstraße 34 turned on music from speakers to protest against police actions.

  20. Switzerland: US drone strike on Soleimani ‘violation’ of UN Charter – UN special rapporteur

UN’s special rapporteur on extrajudicial killings Agnes Callamard said the US drone strike on Iranian General Qassem Soleimani “was a violation of the UN Charter governing the use of force and an arbitrary killing,” in Geneva on Thursday.

Presenting her report to Human Rights Council, Callamard said, “My report as an annex presenting a case study of the targeted killing of Iranian General Qasem Soleimani concluding that is was a violation of the UN Charter governing the use of force and an arbitrary killing.”

“The international community must confront the very real prospect that a state may opt to strategically eliminate high ranking military officials outside the context of a non-war and seek to justify the killings on the grounds of necessity not imminent,” she added.

Commenting on Callamard’s findings, permanent representative of the Islamic Republic of Iran Esmaeil Baghaei said that “there remains no doubt as to the culpability of the US government as well as those personally criminal responsibility of those involved the US and the states that hosted US drones bear responsibility and must be held to account for this lawless behaviour and criminal act.”

General Soleimani was the leader of the Revolutionary Guards’ Quds Force. The US targeted Soleimani, at the Baghdad airport in Iraq on January 3, for allegedly masterminding attacks by Iran-aligned militias on US forces in the Middle East.

“A group of intoxicated African migrants has been accused of harassing and assaulting the mayor of Eastern Samos on the Greek island island after being asked to leave a city square.

The African migrants attacked Mayor Georgios Stantzos after the group had been drinking heavily in a local city square in the city of Samos. The Africans were first confronted by the local police who asked them to leave.

Initially, the migrants left, but they soon returned to the square and began harassing locals while continuing to drink alcohol, Proto Thema reports.

According to the newspaper, Mayor Stantzos was also in the area at the time and confronted the migrants, telling them to go elsewhere. The migrants reacted with aggression, calling the mayor a “fascist” and assaulting him, ultimately throwing him to the ground.

The incident is not the first time Stantzos has confronted illegal migrants in the city. In December, he joined a group of locals in trying to remove migrants who were occupying a square in the town who he claimed had vandalised locals’ cars…”

  25. The Beginning of the End of Whites in South Africa

White South Africans will be resilient to the end. Their only regret is the speed with which it now comes.

“It’s been a rough month,” says Jess.

Coming from a one-man mountain with more shrapnel scars than most, things must be looking bleak in South Africa.

And it’s worse than any of us can imagine. Eighty-four farm attacks since lockdown began, twelve white farmers slaughtered from their land. The footage of the aftermath of one of the attacks circulating on Telegram and sent to me — too brutal to share. Only monsters could do such things to the elderly in their own homes.

As many of us celebrated the 4th of July this weekend, there were three murders in two days, one of them so unspeakably cruel that even those hardened to the news of torture of farmers by black gangs have found themselves white-knuckled at the speed of the horror.

When these massive men like Jess feel it, we need to stop and listen. They are the first people I would run to if I needed protecting: strong, sturdy, unflinching. These strong South Africans are part of the land, they have it coursing throughout their blood just as the sunshine and water spills through the crops and trees on their soil.

Hearing the horrible news I want to grab my little daysack — sitting ready with my passport and power plugs — pull on my boots and go. I am desperate to head back to their country, somehow leap into the struggle and to help the murdered be heard. For now I share their pictures with you, hopelessly trying to reanimate them as individuals, instead of more bodies on a pile.

Twenty-three years ago yesterday, in 1997, Dr. Charles Jacobs, a frequent FrontPageMag contributor and president of the pro-Israel educational non-profit Americans for Peace and Tolerance, published a biting op-ed in The Boston Globe: “Where are the liberals?”

At the time, Dr. Jacobs, a human rights campaigner and Jewish activist, was the president and research director of the American Anti-Slavery Group, an organization at the forefront of the war against modern-day black slavery in Africa.

By 1997, thanks to his relentless activism and that of the heroic black journalist Sam Cotton (may his memory be a blessing), the world was slowly coming to grips with a vile fact: that Arabs and Muslims own black men, women, and children as chattel property in Mauritania and Sudan — today. Dr. Jacobs himself had come to this news inadvertently. One day in 1990 he picked up a copy of The Economist on a flight home, and flipped to page 42 where he found a one-page editorial entitled “Slavery: By any other name.” What he read shook him to his core: “In Sudan chattel slavery is spreading fast, as a consequence of the civil war between the black Christian and pagan southerners and the Arab, Muslim north.… In February 1988 a [black] child could be bought for $90; so many slaves are available [two years later] that the price has now fallen to $15.” A child cheaper than a pizza; Jacobs took the magazine home with him and was never the same.

  27. bloomberg WHO Taps Ex-Liberian President, Ex-New Zealand Prime Minister to Lead Virus Panel

The head of the World Health Organization said on Thursday that former Liberian President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf and former New Zealand Prime Minister Helen Clark will head a new panel tasked with giving “an honest assessment” of the global response to the coronavirus pandemic.

WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, whose agency is facing a US pullout following Trump administration complaints about its early handling of the virus emergency, announced the appointments to the newly created Independent Panel for Pandemic Preparedness and Response.

The WHO chief reiterated his calls for global unity and decried a general lack of leadership, but he made no reference to the Trump administration giving formal 1-year notice this week of its intent to withdraw the United States from the U.N. health agency.

He said he would convene a special meeting of the WHO’s executive board in September, before hosting the assembly of its 194 member states in November.

The World Health Assembly, usually held in May, was cut short and held online this year due to the pandemic.

The assembly in May called for a comprehensive evaluation of the WHO’s and the world’s response to the outbreak, and after repeated Trump administration criticism of the U.N. health agency over its handling of the pandemic and alleged deference to China, where COVID-19 first emerged.

Tedros suggested the panel would have an independent administration, update member states regularly on its progress and hold monthly meetings.

China and Iran have unleashed a harsh domestic repression against protesters, as natural disasters sweep across the two countries. China took an early lead:

Waters in 116 local rivers rose one to ten meters (3.3 feet to 32.8 feet). State news agency Xinhua quoted Chongqing city officials on July 2 saying that water levels of 12 rivers are higher than the upper limits, meaning the banks may burst at any time.

At least one person has died, and one is missing, the report said, adding that almost 60,000 have been affected by the floods in the city.

Local authorities in one area in Chongqing have warned those who live on the fourth story or below in buildings close to rivers to be prepared to evacuate.

Authorities are warning civilians to pay close attention to local rivers and streams. As of the beginning of the month, some 304 rivers had reached perilous levels.

And in Iran, official death totals due to coronavirus have reached a new high. Given that ALL Iranian data are probably falsified, the new death totals are especially dubious. They are both big countries, and do not dread a sudden or dramatic drop in population. Au contraire, the new data suggest that the threat to stability in Iran is diminishing, and therefore that internal stability is increasing.

  29. the gateway pundit – REPORT: Durham Under Pressure to Wrap Up Spygate Investigation, Could ‘Punt it to After the Election’ … And President Trump is Furious!

John Durham, the US Attorney from Connecticut appointed to investigate the origins of Spygate, is reportedly under pressure to wrap up his probe by the end of summer.

However, according to two sources who spoke to Fox News, Durham could wait to initiate prosecutions or reveal his findings until after the 2020 presidential election.

    Via Fox News:

Two sources familiar with Durham’s investigation told Fox News this week that Durham is working expeditiously to try to finish the probe by the end of summer, but that several lines of investigation are not yet complete.

He believes it’s critical to do them,” one source said. “He is feeling more pressure to get this done and wrapped up.”

The source also told Fox News that Durham “does not want this to be viewed political,” and the closer it gets to November, Durham could “punt it to after the election.”

    What we know so far:

Award-winning investigative reporter John Solomon told Sean Hannity back in April that he knows of a few witnesses who have appeared before a DC grand jury.

John Solomon told Hannity he believes that Durham’s charges will start with Kevin Clinesmith, the lawyer who fraudulently changed a document to deceive the FISA court.

Durham has added to his investigative team and is reportedly focusing on the Intel Community’s assessment that the Russians interfered in the 2016 election.

CNN reported a few months ago that Durham and his team have been reviewing highly classified documents inside of a SCIF [Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility] and in recent weeks added FBI agents to his team of investigators.

What good is all of this work if Durham is going to punt prosecutions until after the election?

President Trump is furious that ‘nothing is happening’ to the coup cabal who illegally spied on him and tried to remove him from office.

  31. Associated Press AP source: Feds feared Epstein confidante might kill herself

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) — Federal officials were so worried Jeffrey Epstein’s longtime confidante Ghislaine Maxwell might take her own life after her arrest that they took away her clothes and sheets and made her wear paper attire while in custody, an official familiar with the matter told The Associated Press.

The steps to ensure Maxwell’s safety while she’s locked up at a federal jail in New York City extend far beyond the measures federal officials took when they first arrested her in New Hampshire last week.

The Justice Department has implemented additional safety protocols and federal officials, outside of the Bureau of Prisons, have been specifically tasked with ensuring there’s adequate protection and the prisons protocols are being followed, the official said. The protections are in case she harms herself, and in case other inmates wish to harm her.

The concern comes in part because Epstein, 66, killed himself in a federal jail in Manhattan last summer while in custody on sex trafficking charges. The Bureau of Prisons has been the subject of intense scrutiny and conspiracy theories since then, with staff shakeups and leadership changes. Attorney General William Barr said his death was the result of the “perfect storm of screw ups.”

Maxwell was sent to the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, over the Brooklyn Bridge from where Epstein was held.

The other protocols put in place for Maxwell’s confinement include ensuring that she has a roommate in her cell, is monitored and making sure someone is always with her while she’s behind bars, the official said.

The official could not discuss the ongoing investigation publicly and spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity.

Maxwell was arrested last Thursday on charges she helped lure at least three girls — one as young as 14 — to be sexually abused by Epstein, who was accused of victimizing dozens of girls and women over many years.

Maxwell, the daughter of the late British publishing magnate Robert Maxwell, was the former girlfriend and longtime close associate of Epstein. She is accused of facilitating his crimes and on some occasions joined him in sexually abusing the girls, according to the indictment against her. Several Epstein victims have described Maxwell as his chief enabler, recruiting and grooming young girls for abuse. She has denied wrongdoing and called claims against her “absolute rubbish.”

Maxwell was arrested by a team of federal agents last week at a $1 million estate she had purchased in New Hampshire. The investigators had been keeping an eye on Maxwell and knew she had been hiding out in various locations in New England.

She had switched her email address, ordered packages under someone else’s name and registered at least one new phone number under an alias “G Max,” prosecutors have said.

When the agents swooped in to arrest her, they weren’t sure that she was even at the home, the official said. Some of the investigators believed she may have already fled from the United States in order to avoid prosecution, the official added.

After her arrest, Maxwell was put into the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service, which utilized a series of suicide-prevention protocols, including taking away her sheets, as well as other safety measures, fearing a repeat of what happened with Epstein.

The Bureau of Prisons been plagued for years by serious misconduct, violence and staffing shortages so severe that guards often work overtime day after day or are forced to work mandatory double shifts and has struggled recently with an exploding number of coronavirus cases in prisons across the U.S.

  32. New bill would require NY cops to have personal insurance for liability suits

State lawmakers are churning out more proposed laws to hold cops accountable for misconduct.

A bill introduced by state Sen. Alessandra Biaggi (D-Bronx) would require police officers to obtain personal liability insurance to cover civil lawsuits filed against them for excessive force and other abuses as a way to deter misconduct.

Under current law, cops who are sued are represented by the city law department and taxpayers foot the bill for any verdict or settlement.

Biaggi’s proposal would require each officer to obtain individual liability insurance. The city or other local governments would still be required to cover the basic insurance policy to cover tort litigation costs.

But Biaggi said her bill would better hold officers accountable by requiring them to pay any increase in premiums related to payouts for wrongdoing.

“Officers who have misconduct claims brought against them may see their premium go up and will be required to pay those costs. The purpose of this bill is to establish a financial disincentive for police misconduct and create accountability for abhorrent behavior,” she said.
