New York is highly selective about who and what kind of gatherings are allowed: Links 2, June 15, 2020

1. It would be good to look at this in the context of what the same governing agencies do concerning other communities that choose to disregard the harshest Covid-19 measures for less altruistic reasons than playing in the park with their children.

Of course the day before this happened in Brooklyn and was celebrated by authorities

There was a move to open the park by the Jewish community however. This is how you do a civil rights protest. No one is hurt and their actions were in fact countering an illegal, at least in the ultra-Vires sense, the government closure.

What I am led to understand is that Jewish kids after certain services or school, pretty much have nothing to do except hang out at that park. Closing it was an antisemitic act because it targets the Jewish community specifically while ignoring every other mass gathering which has taken place in the city, even just over the weekend.

2. In that spirit:

The tweet above is a small sample of the current communist putsch to get rid of a sports coach who dared to wear a T shirt advertising OAN, a non-communist news network on cable.

Oklahoma State’s Mike Gundy ‘making some changes’ after players speak out about OAN shirt

Chuba Hubbard, the nation’s leading rusher last season, will resume football activities after tweeting Monday that he “will not be doing anything with Oklahoma State until things CHANGE” in response to a photo of coach Mike Gundy wearing an OAN T-shirt.

“I will not stand for this,” Hubbard posted on the day Cowboys players were scheduled to begin voluntary workouts on campus. “This is completely insensitive to everything going on in society, and it’s unacceptable.”

Hubbard received support from multiple teammates and former players, but after the university president and athletic director both issued statements expressing concern, the running back posted a video of himself and Gundy in which the two shook hands.

“In light of today’s tweet with the T-shirt that I was wearing, I met with some players and realize it’s a very sensitive issue with what’s going on in today’s society,” Gundy said in the video. “And so, we had a great meeting. (I was) made aware of some things that players feel like can make our organization, our culture, even better than it is here at Oklahoma State. I’m looking forward to making some changes, and it starts at the top with me. And we’ve got good days ahead.”

3. Question: At what point are vigilantes more in keeping with the spirit of the law than the government?

Vigilante ‘Posse’ Battles to Evict Group of Migrants they say Responsible for Robberies and Attacks on the Elderly in Barcelona Spain

A group of neighbours in Spain got together to physically and verbally confront a flat of young migrants in hopes of expelling them from the apartment and out of town.

THIS incident quickly became tense when more than a dozen neighbours in Premia de Mar, Barcelona, went to a flat full of young migrants and physically tried to get them out.

The Mossos d’Esquadra were alerted of a fight in the Avenida Luis Companys which involved stone-throwing and tried to intervene.

The Mossos confirmed that the group of neighbours had managed to enter the flat and cause significant damage, however, the police presence did little to intimidate the neighbours who were rallied up.

4. Martin Selner speaks to one of the people who did the banner counter-protest in Paris. Gen Ident is one of the few European activist groups that have consistently done non-violent and effective protests and yet have been treated with stunning unfairness by governments and institutions such as banks. It would take over a day to properly write up the injustices that Gen Ident have been subjected to for many years now. But several have been documented on this site, ranging from grotesquely biased reporting even by STRATFOR, to government and police harasment, arrests and theft of property of Mr. Selner which a higher court 100% aquitted him of all charges with full admission that prosecution of Mr. Selner by the Austrian state was itself illegal.

5. Four California Cops Shot in ‘Planned Ambush’ with ‘Military Tactics’

Last Wednesday, Mason James Lira, 26, attacked police in Paso Robles, California, murdered a homeless man, and shot San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s deputy Nicholas Dreyfus in the face.

“This was a planned ambush,” Sheriff Ian Parkinson told reporters. In the ensuing manhunt, Lira moved from place to place, using “military-style tactics.” He waited for officers to arrive, and “he shot them just like he shot my deputy.” Lira shot three more officers before police shot and killed him on Thursday afternoon. For Sheriff Parkinson, “this was not a win,” hardly the only bizarre statement to emerge from the mayhem.

Jose Lira told reporters his son Mason lived in a fantasy world “doesn’t have a beef with the police.” Terrorized locals might think he did, since Lira planned an ambush on a police station and shot four officers. His other encounters with police involved assault and battery charges in Tulare County. Mason Lira also possessed handguns that had been stolen in a burglary.

Jose Lira also claimed his son had a history of mental illness. That did not preclude a carefully planned ambush on a police station and the use of military-style tactics to evade capture and open fire on other officers. Lira shot a California Highway Patrol officer in the chest, then shot a deputy from Kings County in the leg as he attempted to help the wounded officer.

Tucker makes some very important observations in this segment.

After all the evidence of the Fourth Reich which is forming world wide and certainly in the US, we need some comic relief.

De Blasio’s lawyers, meanwhile, argued that no “exemption” had been given to the demonstrations, as rules prohibiting gatherings of more than 10 people are still in effect.
Asked for comment, a spokesman for the city’s Law Department told The Post: “The City has to adopt and follow the Governor’s Executive Orders.”
Cuomo spokesman Rich Azzopardi said only: “This is state government: we get sued all the time. That was true before the pandemic and that is true now.”
