As Governor Andrew Cuomo faced a spirited challenge in his bid to win New York’s 2018 Democratic primary, his political apparatus got a last-minute boost: a powerful healthcare industry group suddenly poured more than $1m into a Democratic committee backinghis campaign.

 

Less than two years after that flood of cash from the Greater New York Hospital Association (GNYHA), Cuomo signed legislation last month quietly shielding hospital and nursing home executives from the threat of lawsuits stemming from the coronavirus outbreak. The provision, inserted into an annual budget bill by Cuomo’s aides, created one of the nation’s most explicit immunity protections for healthcare industry officials, according to legal experts.

 

Critics say Cuomo removed a key deterrent against nursing home and hospital corporations cutting corners in ways that jeopardize lives. As those critics now try to repeal the provision during this final week of Albany’s legislative session, they assert that data prove such immunity is correlating to higher nursing home death rates during the pandemic – both in New York and in other states enacting similar immunity policies.

5. Australian researchers see virus design manipulation

A forthcoming Australian scientific study concludes that the coronavirus causing the global pandemic contains unique properties suggesting it was manipulated in a Chinese laboratory and was not the result of a natural occurrence.

 

Five scientists who conducted the study discovered an unusual ability of the SARS-CoV-2 virus, as the pathogen behind COVID-19 is called, to easily infect humans.

 

The scientists said there is no sign so far that the virus can be found in other animals, including bats or the exotic wildlife sold for fresh meat at a market in the Chinese city of Wuhan, where the virus was first identified and where China maintains a major laboratory studying such viruses.

6. President of El Salvador Announces That He is Taking Hydroxychloroquine, Says ‘Most World Leaders’ Doing the Same

Bukele told reporters on Tuesday that “most world leaders” are doing the same and has questioned why world leaders are being advised to use it while the public is not.

 

“I use it as a prophylaxis, President Trump uses it as a prophylaxis, most of the world’s leaders use it as a prophylaxis,” said Bukele.

 

President Donald Trump has been a proponent of the drug, which is normally used to treat malaria, and recently announced that he had been taking it.

 

“A lot of good things have come out about the hydroxy. You’d be surprised at how many people are taking it, especially the frontline workers,” Trump said at the White House on April 19. “I happen to be taking it. I’m taking it, hydroxychloroquine. Right now.”

 

Trump has since completed his regimen.

The Chloroquine thing is looking like an informational Achilles heel for the left. Someone just needs to do the research and editing and make a video showing how is for and against it and the connection between those against it. Very revealing I bet. Doubly so as I also bet those who are against it are also taking it now.

  1. The thing about Iran’s hysterical antipathy toward Israel is that it doesn’t make any sense on any level. Tehran is a thousand miles from Jerusalem and the Iranians have fought no war to my knowledge with the Jewish state. Historically, there have been lots of Jews in Persia and the two peoples share no negative history. So it’s all bullshit. They just keep pretending that the Jews are inches away from invading them and then they use that lie as an excuse for disallowing their peoples’ human rights because, “There’s a war on, or ain’t ya heard…?”.

    If the Iranians were to stop beginning every day with, “Death to Israel” chants, maybe the political climate of the region might improve…
