5. Spend more on defense or we move troops to Poland, U.S. envoy tells Germany

BERLIN (Reuters) – An envoy of U.S. President Donald Trump suggested on Friday that Chancellor Angela Merkel’s unwillingness to boost defense spending might give the United States no choice but to move American troops stationed in Germany to Poland.

The comments by Richard Grenell, the U.S. ambassador to Germany, signal Trump’s impatience with Merkel’s failure to raise defense spending to 2% of economic output as mandated by the NATO military alliance.

“It is offensive to assume that the U.S. taxpayers continue to pay for more than 50,000 Americans in Germany but the Germans get to spend their (budget) surplus on domestic programs,” Grenell told the dpa news agency.

Germany’s fiscal plans foresee the defense budget of NATO’s second-largest member rising to 1.37% of output next year before falling to 1.24% in 2023.

Eastern European countries like Poland and Latvia, fearful of Russia after it annexed Crimea from Ukraine in 2014, have raised their military spending to the 2% target, drawing praise from Trump who wants Germany to do the same.

6. Father-of-five who advocated rights for migrants is hit and killed by illegal immigrant on probation for a DUI who was ordered to be deported back to El Salvador eight months ago

A staunch supporter of the rights of immigrants – and a married father of five – was killed last week when an illegal immigrant from El Salvador facing deportation crashed into his motorcycle in Colorado.

Sean Buchanan, 45, was driving northbound on Highway 83 on August 2 when Colorado State Patrol say a southbound truck operated by Miguel Ramirez Valiente went off the side of the road, then over-corrected into the wrong lane and crashed into Buchanan’s bike, killing him.

Valiente, an undocumented immigrant who was slated for deportation eight months earlier, was charged with misdemeanor careless driving with a revoked license in the deadly accident.

In an ironic twist, Buchanan was known among friends a passionate advocate for all immigrants.

Officials do not suspect that drugs, alcohol or excessive speed played a role in the collision, reported The Colorado Springs Gazette.

Valiente has a criminal record in Colorado that includes a 2018 conviction for a DUI charge, which earned him a year’s probation and the revocation of his license, and a guilty plea to a charge of reckless endangerment in a child neglect case.

7. Five Migrants Convicted After Filming Gang Rape Of 13-Year-Old

Five asylum seekers aged between 17 and 22 have been convicted in a court in Austria of raping a 13-year-old girl.

The incident occurred in October of last year and saw the 13-year-old girl meet the five asylum seekers at the central railway station in Graz.

The young men are said to have lured the young teen to an apartment where they gave her alcohol and other substances before making her undress, Kronen Zeitungreports.

The migrants, two of which had already been convicted of drug offences, began to become aggressive and eventually violent when the 13-year-old victim attempted to resist them and each is said to have taken turns raping her.

The entire ordeal was also filmed by one of the migrants on his mobile phone. The phone, along with the footage, was later discovered by police.

  1. 2- Excellent parsing of socialist hypocrisy. This woman takes the time to dig down to where the rubber meets the road. Socialist opportunists trying to scam their socialist employer, only to find he is a con-man playing their ideological heart strings is sweet poetic justice.

  2. 9- This unstable malcontent has been handed a loaded gun by Human Rights Commission, and walks the proverbial streets looking for victims. Should we be surprised? Homely, sexually dysphoric, and assuredly very angry at a laundry list of perceived injustices, the HRC website begs activism at taxpayers’ expense. Truly. Can you imagine a more tangible tool of postmodern decontructionism as this? Just soak in the cover page:

    • I like how they cropped the photo of the muslims so you cannot see that the little girl is making the Islamic State salute.

  3. 10- Sadly, Hansen seems to be getting more exposure from getting banned, than from his movies. Pretty soon we’ll only be able to watch films like his after bootleg copies are smuggled into places like Hungary.
