1. Afghan Arrested in Sweden Rape Case Worked for Migrant Integration Charity

(Muslims are so often at heart of stories like this its hard to tell if its even still irony)

Seven Afghan migrants and one Swedish citizen have been arrested in two separate operations in connection with a case of rape, with one suspect being involved with a migrant integration charity.

The first round of arrests occurred in the middle of May, and were followed in June with several more suspects. All of the suspects are between 20 to 26 years old with most of the suspects residing in Östersund, Sweden, Nyheter Idagreports.

 

The rape attack or attacks are said to have occurred between the 3rd and 8th of May but police have not shared the full and specific details in the case.

 

Several details regarding the suspects have come to light, such as one of the men having been convicted twice for assault in 2014 and 2015, while another is said to have worked at the asylum seeker integration charity Hej främling! (“Hi stranger!”) which fired him upon being notified of his arrest.

4. Swedish appeals court acquits Uzbek man of preparing attack

A Swedish appeals court has acquitted a 46-year-old man of preparing an attack in Stockholm on behalf of the Islamic State group.

 

The Svea Court freed David Idrisson, an Uzbek national who previously had been sentenced to seven years in jail for having gathered some 500 kilograms (1,100 pounds) of chemicals, knives, gas masks and military equipment and for having photos of potentials targets in Stockholm on his phone.

 

Judge Ragnar Palmkvist said Wednesday there was “not sufficient evidence” against Idrisson and two others that they were planning terrorist offenses. The two other defendants had already been acquitted in the case by a lower court.

6. First Time Ever at UN: India Votes with Israel Against Terror-Linked Group

For the first time ever, India voted last week with Israel at the United Nations against granting observer status to a Palestinian human-rights organization named “Shahed.”

 

The motion at the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) was rejected on June 6 by a 28-14 vote.

“Thank you #India for standing with @IsraelinUN and rejecting the request of terrorist organization “Shahed” to obtain the status of an observer in #UN. Together we will continue to act against terrorist organizations that intend to harm,” tweeted Maya Kadosh, deputy chief of mission at the Israel Embassy in India.

(The fact that “Shahed” means one who martyrs himself for Allah, tends to make one suspicious)

7. Australian Police Shut Down 200 Fraudulent Daycare Centers with Links to ISIS

Police in Australia have closed almost 200 daycare centers after finding the private businesses were linked to the Islamic State, motorcycle gangs, and large-scale fraud.

 

The Daily Mail reports daycares located in the suburbs of southwest Sydney were the worst offenders with 114 private facilities closed by authorities.

 

Police also shut down 49 facilities in the Canterbury-Bankstown region, another 25 in Liverpool, 23 in Fairfield and 17 in Auburn.

Sheikh of Al-Azhar Ahmad Al-Tayyeb said in a series of interviews that aired on Channel 1 (Egypt) between May 17 and June 2, 2019 that the Western notion of equality is “false.”

He criticized Western civilization for not being based on any principles or heritage and said that this is why gay marriage is considered acceptable in the West.

Stating that Allah’s laws are immutable, Al-Tayyeb said: “Even the animal kingdom did not go that far.”

Sheikh Al-Tayyeb also said that the Quran does not order men to beat their wives, and, explaining that a man who chooses to not beat his wife is not in violation of the shari’a, he said that wife-beating in Islam is only permitted in certain extreme circumstances and that it is comparable to a “poke.”

He also said that Islam is criticized for permitting wife-beating because Islam and Muslims are “targeted,” while the beatings that occur in the U.S. in the U.K. lead to death and police involvement.

 

9. IRAN’S FM AFFIRMS RIGHT TO EXECUTE GAYS AND BLASTS U.S. AND ISRAEL

In response to questions today in Tehran from a reporter for the mass circulation German paper Bild, the Islamic Republic of Iran’s foreign minister Mohammad Javad Zarif reiterated his country’s lethal homophobic law and its opposition to the Jewish state and the US.

Paul Ronzheimer, a reporter for the Bild, wrote on Twitter that he asked Zarif two questions: “1. Where do you stand regarding Israel’s right to exist? 2. How do you deal with the executions of gays?”

Ronzheimer wrote that Zarif answered: “The problem is the aggressive policies of Israel and the USA.”

Regarding Iran’s execution of gays, Zarif said that: “Our society has moral principles, and according to these principles we live. These are moral principles regarding the behavior of people in general. And that’s because the law is upheld and you abide by laws.”
