Daily Links Post graphic

Each day at just after midnight Eastern, a post like this one is created for contributors and readers of this site to upload news links and video links on the issues that concern this site. Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

This is the new Samizdat. We must use it while we can.

  1. Package with anti-second amendment message sent to republican party office, promoting bomb squad removal

As the mainstream media prods us to war with one another, the radical left are responding to democratic dog whistles with alarming regularity.

The American people, at times, seem to be on the very precipice of Civil War. While a great deal of this fretting comes to us courtesy of the mainstream media, there is still something to be said for the causation versus correlation part of the argument.

Is the media the chicken or the egg? God forbid it ever arrives, which would the coming conflict be?

In this atmosphere of anti-eachother hatred, it’s no surprise that republicans are being targeted in droves by the radical left; the infotainment industry is doing little but stoking these fires.

In Tennessee, such vitriol has manifested itself with a suspicious package and a bomb threat.

A suspicious package with an anti-gun control message attached was sent to a local Republican Party office in Tennessee on Friday, prompting evacuations of nearby buildings.

Businesses in downtown Murfreesboro, 35 miles southeast of Nashville, were cleared out while police K9 dogs were brought into the Rutherford County Republican Party office, the Murfreesboro Police Department tweeted. Inside the cardboard box appeared to be a radio with a note attached.

The tone of the note was unmistakable in its message.

“This is just a warning. There will be no others,” the note read. “There will be no unconstitutional gun control in this state, or there will be blood.”

Michael Sullivan, executive director of the Tennessee Republican Party, said it was unclear if the box was mailed or dropped off. He called it a fake bomb.

Tennessee Republican Party Chairman Scott Golden called the incident “alarming.”

Thankfully, no one was harmed in the incident.

Richard: If they don’t catch and publicly punish the people who sent the fake bomb it won’t be long before they aren’t fake. Once the killing starts others will start using bombs and guns and if the police can’t or won’t catch the killers the people who know what they are doing will start retaliating.

  2. Iran’s Zarif Calls for ‘Elimination’ of Dollar to Stop US ‘Economic Terrorism’ (sputniknews, Jun 9 2019)
    https://sputniknews.com/world/201906091075756703-irans-zarif-calls-elimination-dollar-stop-us-economic-terrorism/

“Speaking at a high school event in Tehran on Sunday, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said that much of the United States’ economic influence would “go away” if countries around the world were to ditch the dollar as the basis for their international trade.

“America’s power rests on the dollar; a great part of America’s economic power will go away if countries eliminate the dollar from their economic systems”, the minister said.

Zarif went on to say that Washington was trying to beef up pressure on Tehran “out of desperation” and slammed the US-led economic war as “economic terrorism”.

“It amounts, by definition, to economic terrorism because the United States is putting pressure in terms of what its president calls warfare on normal ordinary Iranians in order to change the policies of their government”, he told reporters on the side-lines of the event…”

  4. “You Are Making a Giant Mistake!” – Trump Warns Tech Giant Twitter on Censoring Conservatives… When Do the Lawsuits Begin?

witter, Facebook and Google-YouTube have been censoring and banning conservative voices since the 2016 election.

The Gateway Pundit has reported on this extensively over the past few years.

We reported in July 2018 that Twitter has long been accused of censoring conservatives. Twitter evens censors and shadowbans the President of the United States, Donald Trump’s twitter account, @realDonaldTrump.

In July 2018 we reported that a study by the leftist website VICE News found that Twitter is censoring top pro-Trump lawmakers. Twitter is targeting pro-Trump Republican lawmakers Matt Gaetz, Devin Nunes, Mark Meadows, Jim Jordan and John Ratcliffe with the same shadowbanning technique.

Twitter is also censoring prominent pro-Trump accounts including: Mike Cernovich, Jack Posobiec, Paul Joseph Watson, TGP’s Jim Hoft, TGP’s Cassandra Fairbanks and Laura Loomer among others.

In July there was even video proof that President Trump’s Twitter page is being censored.
Gateway Pundit contributor Cristina Laila received a notice in 2018 that her tweet violated Pakistani law.

  5. BREITBART – House Democrats to Hold Hearing on ‘Presidential Obstruction’

[…]“No one is above the law. While the White House continues to cover up and stonewall, and to prevent the American people from knowing the truth, we will continue to move forward with our investigation,” Nadler said in a statement this week, announcing the hearing, entitled, “Lessons From the Mueller Report: Presidential Obstruction and Other Crimes.”

[…]These hearings will allow us to examine the findings laid out in Mueller’s report so that we can work to protect the rule of law and protect future elections through consideration of legislative and other remedies. Given the threat posed by the president’s alleged misconduct, our first hearing will focus on President Trump’s most overt acts of obstruction. In the coming weeks, other hearings will focus on other important aspects of the Mueller report.

[…]“Russia attacked our elections to help President Trump win. Trump and his campaign welcomed this help, and the president then tried to obstruct the investigation into the attack,” Nadler suggested. “Mueller confirmed these revelations and has now left Congress to pick up where he left off.”

    • Associated Press –Case opened: Democrats begin public airing of Mueller report

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump says it’s ”case closed .” But Democrats are just getting started with Robert Mueller .

House Democrats have scheduled a series of hearings this coming week on the special counsel’s report as they intensify their focus on the Russia probe and pick up the pace on an investigative “path” — in the words of Speaker Nancy Pelosi — that some of them hope leads to impeachment of the president.

In doing so, they are trying to draw the public’s attention on the allegations that Trump sought to obstruct a federal investigation and they want to highlight his campaign’s contacts with Russia in the 2016 election.

And they will lay the groundwork for an appearance from Mueller himself, despite his stated desire to avoid the spotlight .

The hearings will focus on the two main topics of Mueller’s report, obstruction of justice and Russian election interference.

The House Judiciary Committee plans to cover the first topic at a Monday hearing on “presidential obstruction and other crimes.” The House Intelligence Committee on Wednesday intends to review the counterintelligence implications of the Russian meddling. Mueller said there was not enough evidence to establish a conspiracy between the Trump campaign and Russia, but he said he could not exonerate Trump on obstruction.

On Tuesday, the House has scheduled a vote to authorize contempt cases against Attorney General William Barr and former White House counsel Donald McGahn for failing to comply with subpoenas from the Democratic-controlled House.

Barr defied a subpoena to provide an unredacted version of Mueller’s report, along with underlying evidence. McGahn, who is frequently referenced in the report, has defied subpoenas to provide documents and testify before the House Judiciary Committee.

Language in the resolution would make it easier for committee chairmen to take the Trump administration to court. Those chairmen could take legal action to enforce subpoenas in the future without a vote of the full House, so long as the chairmen have approval from a five-person, bipartisan group where Democrats have the majority.

With Trump pledging that “we’re fighting all the subpoenas,” Democratic leaders want to avoid repeated floor votes on contempt resolutions that detract from their legislative agenda.

The procession of hearings and votes in the week ahead is partly designed to mollify anxious Democrats who have pushed Pelosi, D-Calif., to begin impeachment proceedings immediately . Pelosi has so far rejected that option , preferring a slower, more methodical approach to investigating the president, including the court fights and hearings.

During a meeting with the House Judiciary Committee chairman, New York Rep. Jerrold Nadler, and other committee heads last week, Pelosi made the case that she would rather see Trump voted out of office and “in prison” than merely impeached, according to a report in Politico. A person familiar with the exchange confirmed the account to The Associated Press.

The latest approach appears to have temporarily satisfied the restless House Democrats.

Maryland Rep. Jamie Raskin, who pleaded with Pelosi last month to start an inquiry, said the votes and hearings are going to be enough, for now, as they wait to see what happens in court.

“I am very satisfied that things are moving in the right direction,” Raskin said. “And I think the American people are getting increasingly educated and engaged about the lawlessness of the president.”

Rep. David Cicilline, a Judiciary Committee member who favors an impeachment inquiry, took pains to avoid separating himself from top Democrats such as Pelosi.

“We should never proceed with impeachment for political reasons. We should never refuse to proceed with impeachment for political reasons,” Cicilline, D-R.I., said on “Fox News Sunday.”

Educating the American public on what is in the Mueller report is a priority for Democrats, who believe Trump and his allies have created the public impression that the report said there was no obstruction of justice. Trump has made that assertion repeatedly, echoing Barr’s judgment that there was not enough evidence in the report to support a criminal obstruction charge. Mueller said in the report that he could not exonerate Trump on that point.

The special counsel did not find evidence to establish a criminal conspiracy between Trump’s campaign and Russia. But the report details multiple contacts between the two.

California Rep. Adam Schiff, chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, said the goal of the Wednesday hearing will be to explain to the American people “the serious counterintelligence concerns raised by the Mueller report, examine the depth and breadth of the unethical and unpatriotic conduct it describes, and produce prescriptive remedies to ensure that this never happens again.”

Republicans are poised to defend the president at the hearings and challenge Democrats on the decision not to open impeachment hearings.

Georgia Rep. Doug Collins, the top Republican on the House Judiciary Committee, sent Nadler a letter Friday calling the upcoming hearing a “mock impeachment hearing” and warning Democrats to be civil when speaking of the president.

Collins said in the letter that outside of impeachment proceedings, “it is out of order for a member of Congress, in debate, to engage in personalities with the president or express an opinion, even a third party opinion, accusing the president of a crime. The rules are clear on this point.”

  6. Canadian Federal Prison Poised To Introduce Heroin Injection Site For Inmates

A federal prison in the Canadian province of Alberta is reportedly ready to begin the first supervised drug injection site for prisoners.

A correctional officers’ union says the facility in Drumheller — in the heart of the province’s dinosaur fossil country — could be up and running by the end of June, the National Post reported Friday.

Correctional Service Canada (CSC), responsible for all federal penitentiaries in Canada, is neither confirming nor denying the report. But the Drumheller prison already has a needle exchange program that is also part of a “harm reduction” strategy aimed at reducing the prevalence of HIV and other diseases among drug users — even if they are in prison and shouldn’t have access to any drugs.
