Daily Links Post graphic

Each day at just after midnight Eastern, a post like this one is created for contributors and readers of this site to upload news links and video links on the issues that concern this site. Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

This is the new Samizdat. We must use it while we can.

  1. TORONTO – Teen charged in explosives investigation was ‘on cusp of radicalization:’ source

    A father and son charged after explosive materials and a detonator were allegedly found inside their Richmond Hill home were granted bail on Friday, while a source close to the investigation said the younger suspect was “on the cusp of radicalization” prior to his arrest.

    York Regional Police say that on May 9, they were made aware of a suspect being investigated by both the U.S. Customs and Border Protection service and the Canadian Border Services Agency.

    The next day, officers executed a search warrant on a home in the Larratt Lane area, near Canyon Hill Avenue and Bathurst Street.

    Occupants of nearby homes were ordered to evacuate and an unspecified quantity of explosives and a detonator were removed by OPP and York Region officers.

    Officers brought trailers, trucks, and tents to facilitate a search of the home and the removal of the explosive chemicals, which a source told CTV News Toronto were located in the home’s garage and an adjacent shed.

    The source said that the chemicals located in the home included mercury, red phosphorus and ammonium nitrate.

    Police also allegedly found a copy of The Anarchist Cookbook, a book filled with instructions for the construction of crude explosive devices, home manufacture of drugs, and the modification of telephones and radios.

    On Monday evening, two men were arrested and charged with one count each of possession of an explosive device.

    They were identified as Mahyar Mohammadiasl, 18, and Reza Mohammadiasl, 47.

    Both men walked out of Newmarket court on Friday afternoon, free on combined $50,000 bail and subject to conditions.

    Neither of them spoke to CTV News Toronto outside the courtroom.

    Mahyar must be in the company of an unidentified surety at all times.

    The source told CTV News Toronto that investigators came across “a sea of red flags” concerning Mahyar “being on the cusp of radicalization.”

    The source says Mayhar’s cell phone is in the possession of the U.S. FBI and investigators are examining his other electronics.

    On Tuesday, Federal Public Safety Minister Ralph Goodale said the investigation into both men was not a national security issue” and was simply a local police matter.

    None of the allegations against the father and son have been tested in court.

    Both men are scheduled to appear next in court on June 6.

  2. Turkey: Many Celebrate the Burning of the Cathedral of Notre Dame

    French authorities were quick to rule out arson as the cause of the devastating blaze at the Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris on April 15. Whatever the final investigation reveals, many extremist Muslims in Turkey were equally swift in their celebration of the fire that has demolished large parts of the historic structure.

    The official Facebook page of the pro-government daily, Sabah, for example, is filled with praise for the destruction of the cathedral.

    In a surprise move Wednesday, Giuseppe Conte, the prime minister of Italy, fired the top management of three Italian intelligence agencies.

    The move is being seen as the Conte government’s response to the previous government’s coordinated surveillance activity with U.S. intelligence officials during the 2016 U.S. election.

  5. US Revokes Citizenship of Portland Imam

    After many years in process, the U.S. government revoked the U.S. citizenship of the former imam of the largest mosque in Portland.

    As part of a settlement deal, Mohamed Sheikh Abdirahman Kariye, 57, agreed to acknowledge that he had given false information to immigration officials in July 1997 when he applied for U.S. citizenship.

    In return, even though he was on the no-fly list, the government arranged for him to fly to Somaliland, where he arrived last week.

    Kariye became a naturalized citizen in 1998.

    The government made a case that Kariye failed to reveal his past associations with Islamist extremists in his application for U.S. citizenship.

    Specifically, government lawyers said Kariye, originally from Somalia, had direct dealings with Osama Bin Laden and Abdullah Azzam, the founders of al-Qaeda, and that while in the U.S., he recruited members for the radical group Maktab Al-Khidamat (a precursor to al-Qaeda).

    U.S. authorities also said that Kariye was a founding officer and director of the Global Relief Foundation, which funded al-Qaeda and other terror groups.

    After coming to the U.S. on a student visa in 1982, he then went to Afghanistan, where he attended a jihadi training camp and fought with jihadis against the Soviets. According to the immigration charges against him, he helped funnel fighters in Pakistan to jihad training camps. He was eventually arrested for these activities and spent four months in a Pakistani prison.

    Kariye served for many years at Portand’s largest mosque, Masjed As-Saber. He was arrested in 2002 and pleaded guilty to using a false social security number and defrauding the state Medicaid program by lying about his income to receive state-funded health insurance. He was sentenced to five years on probation.

    The federal government wiretapped conversations revealing that Kariye gave $2,000 to each of seven Portland Muslims to go to Afghanistan to fight U.S. forces with al-Qaeda and the Taliban. The seven traveled to China, hoping to reach the battlefield through Pakistan. All but one were turned back and returned to the U.S. in 2002 where they were eventually arrested and convicted.

    One of those involved said that Kariye preached that Muslims are obligated to fight U.S. forces overseas.

    Kariye was put on a no-fly list and was one of a group of people who successfully sued the government to reveal why an individual is placed on the list.

    In October 2018, government lawyers revealed to a federal appeals court that Kariye was placed on the no-fly list because of his history as a “mujahedeen fighter in Afghanistan against the Russians,” as well as his expressed support for “violent jihad” in conversations recorded between a cooperating informant and two members of the Portland Seven.

  6. Nigerian Army Opens Fire on Zakzaky Supporters (tasnimnews, May 18, 2019)
    https://www.tasnimnews.com/en/news/2019/05/18/2014066/nigerian-army-opens-fire-on-zakzaky-supporters

    “The Nigerian army opened fire on protesters demanding the release of top Muslim cleric Sheikh Ibrahim Zakzaky, who has been held for four years on trumped-up allegations.

    Several people were seriously injured after being shot by soldiers at the rally on Friday night.

    The protesters were calling for justice for the leader of Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN), who has been held since December 2015 following a deadly raid by the Nigerian army troops on his residence in the country’s northern Kaduna State, Press TV reported.

    Sheikh Zakzaky, who is in his mid-sixties, lost his left eyesight in the raid. His wife also sustained serious wounds while more than 300 of his followers and three of his sons were killed in the violence.

    The cleric has been kept in custody along with his wife and a large number of his followers ever since.

    Back in 2016, Nigeria’s federal high court ordered his unconditional release from jail following a trial but the government has so far refused to set him free.

    Zakzaky’s legal team has long called for his release, saying he is suffering from health issues that require urgent medical care abroad but the state high court in Kaduna has denied the request.

    A group of medical experts and consultants, who conducted health assessments Zakzaky and his wife earlier this month, suggested that the two need to be taken abroad without further delay for treatments.

    The cleric and his wife were unable to attend a court hearing back in March this year, due to dire health conditions, according to their lawyer Femi Falana SAN.

    “My clients are yet to access any form of medical attention even after the court had ordered so,” he said, referring to a court order on January 22 to avail the cleric and his wife access to medical care.”

  7. Gulf Countries Accept Redeployment of US Forces to Deter Iran (aawsat, May 18, 2019)
    https://aawsat.com/english/home/article/1727961/gulf-countries-accept-redeployment-us-forces-deter-iran

    “Saudi Arabia and a number of GCC states have approved Washington’s request to redeploy US forces in the waters and territories of the Arabian Gulf to thwart possible Iranian attacks in the region and not trigger a war with Tehran, informed Gulf sources said.

    “Saudi Arabia and the rest of GCC states do not wish to start a war with Iran, but they want to send a strong message to Tehran that it cannot cross the red line by continuing to provoke forces operating in the Arabian Gulf,” the sources told Asharq Al-Awsat on Friday.

    They added that Riyadh and the other GCC capitals do not wish to engage in a military confrontation with Tehran because no party would benefit from such actions.

    The sources said the redeployment of US forces in the Gulf states was part of joint US-Gulf efforts to deter Iran and aimed to have better cooperation between American and Gulf military forces. Such measures would protect the energy supply and prevent Iran from disrupting maritime traffic in that region.

    The sources said the approval of Gulf states on the redeployment was based on bilateral agreements.

    Washington has sent its aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln to the Arabian Gulf. Such development comes as four commercial vessels, including two Saudi oil tankers, have been sabotaged near the UAE emirates of Fujairah.

    Meanwhile, a Saudi source said Riyadh is following-up on developments in the region in light of Iran’s aggressive behaviors.

    The source said the Kingdom does not wish to engage in a war with Tehran, yet Riyadh is capable of protecting its territories from any aggression.”

    “Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan said on Saturday that the purchase of S-400 defense systems from Russia was a done deal, adding that Ankara would also jointly produce S-500 defense systems with Moscow.

    U.S. officials have called Turkey’s planned purchase of the S-400 missile defense system “deeply problematic,” saying it would risk Ankara’s partnership in the joint strike fighter F-35 program because it would compromise the jets, made by Lockheed Martin Corp.

    However, Erdogan told a televised question and answer session with university students in Istanbul that Turkey had carried out technical work and found that such a problem did not exist.

    “They (the U.S.) are passing the ball around in the midfield now, showing some reluctance. But sooner or later, we will receive the F-35s. (The U.S.) not delivering them is not an option.””

    It is illegal to kiss in public in Morocco. And while authorities can be relax in enforcing that rule, public kissing is especially discouraged during the holy month of Ramadan.

    The Royal Gendarmerie of the region of Guelmim has placed the couple in police custody. The case is pending further investigations and the decision to set a date for the couple’s appearance in court.”

  11. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials are working with 11 Florida sheriffs in a pilot project that could allow police agencies to cooperate with ICE — even in so-called sanctuary cities that bar existing levels of collaboration with ICE.

    “This is about criminal illegals who are in the jail. So if you are here illegally, and you obey the laws of the state, none of this applies to you. But if you are here in the county illegally, and you commit a crime, and you end up in a county jail or state prison, then we will, as we should, help ICE remove you from the United States,” Pinellas County Sheriff Bob Gaultieri said, according to Spectrum Bay News 9.

    ICE said its Warrant Service Office program would train local police and corrections officers to detain individuals already in local jails for up to 48 hours, The Washington Times reported.

    Unlike other ICE programs, local police would not need to interview those being held about their citizenship and immigration status.

    “The genesis of the WSO program was: How can we offer a cooperative partnership with jurisdictions that reside in states that have local or state policies that limit cooperation with ICE?” said Matthew Bourke, an ICE spokesman, according to a report by The Washington Post.

  12. Fox News host Tucker Carlson criticized freshman Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., Friday, saying she represents America’s failed immigration system.

    “Congresswoman Ilhan Omar, herself a symbol of America’s failed immigration system if there ever was one, someone who hates this country coming here at public expense, spent yesterday demanding the abolition of ICE, the decriminalization of illegal immigration itself, and an end to all deportation programs,” Carlson said on his show. “She demands open borders, the unlimited arrival of anyone who wants to come to America whether they have anything to contribute or not and, by the way, you get to pay for it. And if you don’t want to, you are a bigot.”

    Omar, who was born in Mogadishu, Somalia, entered the U.S. as a refugee in 1992 after her family fled Somalia’s civil war. Omar became a citizen at 17 in 2000.

    Carlson went on to criticize the Democrats’ larger immigration strategy.

    “Well, you know what this is really about, of course. It’s not about civil rights. That’s a joke. It’s about money and power. Their money, their power. The Left has aligned with business interests that profit from cheap, obedient workers. Low-skilled immigrants have a harder time assimilating into the American mainstream. They stay poorer. They learn English more slowly. They’re more likely to remain an ethnic underclass. All of which make them much more likely to vote Democratic long term. That’s the point, obviously,” Carlson said.

  13. A disabled dog named Ping Pong has become the pride of his village in north-east Thailand, after rescuing a baby boy who had been buried alive by his teenage mother.

    On Wednesday the canine’s sniffing and digging attracted the attention of farmers to a spot of ground in Ban Nong Kham village, in Cham Phuang district, north east of Bangkok. According to Ping Pong’s owner, the dog’s digging exposed the child’s legs, prompting locals to haul the infant to safety.

    A 15-year-old girl, who has not been named, confessed to burying her baby and was charged with attempted murder. She said she had been scared of retribution from her father for getting pregnant. The girl’s family said they will look after the child, who was declared healthy after his rescue.

    The officer said that police were obliged to charge the girl with attempted murder, and that she would be questioned in the presence of child service workers.

    Six year-old Ping Pong, who only has use of three of his legs, was filmed lapping up the attention of his community following the rescue. His owner Usa Nisaika, 41, said he raised the dog from birth and confirmed that he was a very good boy.

  14. Former FBI general counsel James Baker said Friday he viewed the Steele dossier “skeptically” and was “concerned” about the veracity of the document when the bureau received it before the 2016 election.

    But despite those concerns, Baker was one of the FBI officials who reviewed the Carter Page surveillance warrant application, which relied heavily on information from the dossier.

    The dossier, which former British spy Christopher Steele wrote, has come under intense scrutiny in the wake of the special counsel’s report, which undercut Steele’s core claim of a “well-developed conspiracy of co-ordination” between the Kremlin and Trumpworld.

    Steele, who worked during the 2016 campaign for the Clinton campaign and DNC, alleged Page was one of the Trump campaign’s liaisons to the Kremlin. The first of four Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) warrants was granted against Page on Oct. 21, 2016.

    “It was more information that we viewed, that I viewed, skeptically from the outset, and I was concerned about it and had a jaundiced eye, or looked at it with a jaundiced eye right from the outset,” Baker told MSNBC’s Chuck Todd. 15. Christian Student Forced To Write Islamic Profession of Faith by School Appeals to SCOTUS

    A lawsuit by a Christian student in Maryland who was forced to write the Shahada — the Muslim profession of faith — as part of an assignment is appealing to the Supreme Court after her case was rejected by a federal appeals court.

    According to Education Week, the lawsuit alleges that officials at La Plata High School “concealed that their high school World History class promoted Islam” and that both student Caleigh Wood and her parents “were harshly punished for voicing concerns about the desecration of their Christian beliefs and heritage and the promotion of the Islamic faith” through the course.

    The First Amendment lawsuit was dismissed by a federal appeals court in February. Now, with the help of the Thomas More Law Center, which is representing the family, the Woods appealing to the Supreme Court to hear their case.

  16. Arnold Schwarzenegger appears to have avoided serious injury after the 71-year-old former Governor of California was blindsided and dropkicked in the back while at an event in South Africa Saturday.

    The ‘Terminator’ actor is in Sandton, South Africa, for a sporting event called the Arnold Classic Africa, per The Sandton Chronicle.

    In video of the incident which emerged online, Schwarzenegger can be seen watching and videoing a jump-rope competition at the event at the Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg.

    At one point, just as he appears to hand someone the cell phone he was using to take video, a man appears behind him, jumps and kicks him in the back, sending sprawling to the ground. The man was promptly detained by security and dragged away.

  17. the daily caller –‘THESE CHILDREN ARE VERY MUCH BEING HARMED’ — PEDIATRIC ENDOCRINOLOGIST BLASTS ‘POOR SCIENCE’ BEHIND CHILD TRANSGENDER THERAPY

    Dr. Paul Hruz, a pediatric endocrinologist who has written previously about the lack of science behind transgender therapy for children, appeared on “The Ingraham Angle” Friday night to discuss the issue.

    “It’s fairly important to recognize that what is being put forward with the goal of truly helping these individuals that are suffering is based on very poor science and any effort to draw attention to the poor science and the potential very negative and serious consequences that these hormonal interventions really has not been given the attention they deserve,” Hruz said, responding to Fox News host Laura Ingraham’s question about why so little attention has been given to the other side of the issue.

    “And the kids under the age of 18, who have not fully developed, even people who have gone through puberty, their sexual maturity in most cases hadn’t been reached, correct doctor, until maybe 23, 24, 25 years of age?” Ingraham asked.

    Hruz agreed, then added that puberty and adolescence can be adversely effected by such therapies, thereby subjecting them “to the need of medical intervention that has potential [for] very serious harms to their bodies throughout the rest of their life without even considering whether there are alternative options to help them and even recognizing that a large number of children that question their gender identity are going to, if merely left alone, are going to realign their identity with their biological sex.”

    Ingraham noted studies that show “85% to 90% of children no longer experience feelings of gender dysphoria after having gone through puberty.”

    “In your mind is that a correct figure?” she asked.

    “The estimates vary, but it’s the majority,” Hruz responded.

    The doctor added the “concerning” fact that trying to interfere with normal puberty using therapy can often cause children to “persist in that transgender identity, really changing that statistic drastically from the normal trajectory we normally see.”

    The two then discussed the growth of centers devoting resources to transgenderism and reassignment surgery, with Hruz offering his concerns about the prevailing approach:

    Well, it’s actually over 50 now, and really the amazing concern about the growth of this particular approach to dealing with children that have this transgendered identity is to adopt a single intervention that’s based on very, very poor quality science. And even those that are advocating for this intervention, that are involved in this intervention for children, will acknowledge that the science really has not been done to really establish what the long-term effects are and already the data that’s coming forward raises serious concerns. Not only how these children are going to normally move through the developmental stages and their identity, but the effects of the hormonal treatment on the body.

    “These children are very much being harmed,” he added.

  18. Pundit and black conservative activist Candace Owens blasted big tech bias after Breitbart News’ exclusive story that she has been placed on a list of “hate agents” maintained by Facebook.
    Yesterday, a source at Facebook exclusively spoke to Breitbart News about the “hate agents” list, which includes a number of prominent recently-banned individuals including Paul Joseph Watson, Laura Loomer, and Alex Jones.

    A Facebook spokeswoman confirmed the existence of the list, but denied that Candace Owens has been investigated. The spokeswoman also emphasized that a recent seven-day ban of Owens was a mistake and has been reversed.

    “More and more Americans are waking up to, and rejecting the fantastical ideology of the Left. What we’re seeing now are social media companies that are desperate to help subvert a mass awakening” Owens said in a comment to Breitbart News.

    “Facebook is attempting to manufacture a virtual reality for the Democrats by silencing voices that run counter to their Party mission, which is to get rid of President Trump and to turn America into a socialist country.”

    Breitbart’s source at Facebook was able to obtain a partial screenshot of the spreadsheet before the current owner of the discussion group began locking people out in response to the internal leak.

    The partial screenshot reveals that Owens’ name is indeed on the list, along with the instruction for Facebook employees to “look into” her “after we’re done with the above designation analysis.”

    The spreadsheet also appears to track with Owens has or is associated with any “affiliated hate entities.”

  19. MILAN (AP) – Italy’s anti-migration Interior Minister Matteo Salvini led a rally of right-wing populist leaders Saturday seeking historic results in next week’s European Parliament elections in their bid to transform European politics.
    Salvini, the head of Italy’s right-wing League party, has positioned himself at the forefront of a growing movement of nationalist leaders seeking to free the European Union’s 28 nations from what he called Brussels’ “illegal occupation.”

    He pledged to close Europe’s borders to migrants if the League wins not just the most votes of any party in Italy, but also of Europe.

    Salvini was joined by 10 other nationalist leaders, including Marine Le Pen of France’s National Rally party and Joerg Meuthen of the Alternative for Germany party. It was a major tour de force for the expanding movement ahead of the May 23-26 vote that will take place in all 28 EU nations.

    Still, most of the tens of thousands of supporters that packed the square outside the central Duomo cathedral in Milan were there for Salvini. League flags filled the square, with a smattering of national flags from other nations.

    A short distance away, 2,000 protesters marched to protest the right-wing gathering.

  20. Trump to use ‘tremendous powers’ of the Insurrection Act to combat illegal immigration
    by John Gage

    Print this article
    President Trump wants to use the “tremendous powers” of the Insurrection Act to deport illegal immigrants.

    Multiple senior administration officials said Trump sees the little-known law as a powerful tool to help his crackdown on illegal immigration, the Daily Caller reported Thursday.

    “We’re doing the Insurrection Act,” said one official.

    The Insurrection Act of 1807 gives the president authority to use the military to fight “unlawful obstruction or rebellion” within the U.S.

    An official said the president will potentially declare the U.S. as full and say the country cannot accept any more illegal immigrants.

    “If you take a ship and it holds 1,000 people maximum — one more person and the ship is going to collapse,” the official said. “The country is full.”

    James Baker – the Obama FBI’s top attorney (general counsel) said on Friday that he was skeptical about the Steele dossier, and “concerned” about its veracity when the agency received it prior to the 2016 US election, according to the Daily Caller’s Chuck Ross.

    “It was more information that we viewed, that I viewed, skeptically from the outset, and I was concerned about it and had a jaundiced eye, or looked at it with a jaundiced eye right from the outset,” Baker told MSNBC’s Chuck Todd, adding “Steele was and had been a source that we thought was reliable. He’s reporting all this information. It looks alarming. We took it seriously, but we tried to vet it.”

    The dossier – a collection of memos compiled by an ex-British spy funded by Hillary Clinton’s 2016 campaign and the DNC – was used by the FBI to obtain a Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act warrant to spy on Trump campaign aide Carter Page. Steele alleged that Page provided the Trump campaign a Kremlin backchannel during the election.

    Baker also told Todd that he thinks the FISA warrants against Page would have been granted without the dossier, and took a pregnant pause when asked if the dossier was used to obtain FISA warrants on other people – saying “I don’t think I should comment on that, I’m not sure what else the government has confirmed,” and adding “I don’t want to confirm or deny anything about other potential FISA applications.”

  23. SAN DIEGO — The Border Patrol has begun flying migrants who are arrested in South Texas to San Diego and is considering other flights to Detroit, Miami and Buffalo, New York.

    Douglas Harrison, the Border Patrol’s interim San Diego sector chief, said Friday that the efforts are intended to help overstretched staff in Texas’ Rio Grande Valley, the busiest corridor for illegal crossings.

    Starting Friday, there will be three flights a week from Rio Grande Valley to San Diego for families only, each one carrying up to 135 people.

    People will be fingerprinted, interviewed and turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement to decide if they will be detained or released.

    Harrison says no final decision has been made on whether to have flights to Miami and the northern border.

    A young craft beer reviewer is doing some soul searching in the urban essential oils capital of the country this morning.

    The Newtown resident named Saul Anneck-O’Chamber isn’t doing the type of soul searching he’s done overseas off the back of his parent’s sizeable income and asset combo, but is instead trying to figure out where it all went wrong for the people of NSW.

    Following the Labor loss in the election overnight, Anneck-O’Chamber says he just can’t figure out where it went pear-shaped.

    “Everyone hates Gladys,” said the man who hasn’t been further west than Ashfield since he last went to one of his parent’s investment properties in the Blue Mountains.

    “I just don’t get it. How didn’t the Greens win an overall majority, or Labor at the very least,” said the work boot enthusiast who’s never set foot on a building site.

  26. The German government has made secret the number of “refugees” arriving in the country by plane after previous figures showed it was as high as 30 per cent.

    The idea of refugees risking their lives to flee war torn countries, whether by land or even more dangerous boat journey, has been popularized by the media.

    However, at least a third of asylum seekers who enter Germany do so via a quick flight.

    Previous figures released a year ago by the Federal Ministry of the Interior showed that 30 per cent were arriving by air.

    In an attempt to discover which European countries were allowing migrants to continue on to Germany, AfD MP Leif-Erik Holm attempted to get up to date numbers.

    However, he was told that the German government now considers this information to be a “secret classified matter” in the interests of “state welfare”.

    Holm can view the numbers privately in the Bundestag but cannot reveal them to the public. He asserts that this has been done to deliberately hide the true number of asylum seekers arriving by plane from the public.

    Italy’s anti-migrant interior minister Matteo Salvini led a rally of right-wing populist leaders on Saturday seeking historic results in next week’s European Parliament elections.

    Salvini, the head of Italy’s right-wing League party, has positioned himself at the forefront of a growing movement of nationalist leaders seeking to free the European Union’s member nations from what he called Brussels’ “illegal occupation”.

    He pledged to close Europe’s borders to migrants if the League wins not just the most votes of any party in Italy, but also of Europe.

    Salvini was joined by 10 other nationalist leaders, including far-right leaders Marine Le Pen of France’s National Rally party and Joerg Meuthen of the Alternative For Germany party.

  28. Newly sprung Anthony Weiner came to Manhattan federal court Wednesday for a mandatory probation check-in — but was a no-show for a nearby appointment to register as a sex offender.

    The former-congressman-turned-sext-creep Carlos Danger got to the Pearl Street federal courthouse at 12:10 p.m., later than expected, and stayed for two hours before hopping into a cab without a word.

    Sources told The Post that Weiner had arranged a noon appointment at the Sex Offender Monitoring Unit at Manhattan Supreme Court a block away, where officials waited through their lunch hour for him.

    But the office closed at 3 p.m. with nary a Weiner in sight. Sources said he has 10 days to officially register.

    “He was arrogant in [federal court]. He’s fully aware he has 10 days to appear,” said one source. “He … gave no excuses on why he skipped his appearance.”

    A. whereas the term ‘people of African descent’ may also be used with ‘Afro-European’, ‘African European’, ‘Black European’, ‘Afro-Caribbean’ or ‘Black-Caribbean’, and refers to people of African ancestry or descent who are born in, citizens of, or living in Europe;

    B. whereas the terms ‘Afrophobia’, ‘Afri-phobia’ and ‘anti-black racism’ refer to a specific form of racism, including any act of violence or discrimination, fuelled by historical abuses and negative stereotyping, and leading to the exclusion and dehumanisation of people of African descent; whereas this correlates to historically repressive structures of colonialism and the transatlantic slave trade, as recognised by the Council of Europe’s High Commissioner for Human Rights;

    C. whereas there are an estimated 15 million people of African descent living in Europe(8), although equality data collection in EU Member States is neither systematic nor based on self-identification and often omits descendants of migrants or ‘third generation migrants’ and beyond;

    D. whereas the FRA has documented the fact that minorities in Europe with sub-Saharan African backgrounds are particularly likely to experience racism and discrimination in all areas of life(9);

    E. whereas according to the recent Second European Union Minorities and Discrimination Survey conducted by the FRA(10), young respondents of African descent, aged between 16 and 24, experienced higher rates of hate-motivated harassment during the 12 months before the survey (32 %) than older respondents, and that cyber-harassment is highest towards young respondents and decreases with age;

    F. whereas histories of injustices against Africans and people of African descent, including enslavement, forced labour, racial apartheid, massacres, and genocides in the context of European colonialism and the transatlantic slave trade, remain largely unrecognised and unaccounted for at an institutional level in the Member States;

    G. whereas the persistence of discriminatory stereotypes in some traditions across Europe, including the use of blackfacing, perpetuates deeply rooted stereotypes about people of African descent which can exacerbate discrimination;

    H. whereas the important work of national equality bodies and of the European Network of Equality Bodies (Eqinet) should be welcomed and supported;

    I. whereas the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODHIR) Annual Hate Crimes Report(11) has found that people of African descent are often targets of racist violence, yet in many countries there is a lack of legal assistance and financial support for victims recovering from violent attacks;

    J. whereas the primary responsibility for the rule of law and the fundamental rights of citizens lies with governments, and whereas the primary responsibility for monitoring and preventing violence, including Afrophobic violence, and prosecuting the perpetrators is therefore incumbent on governments;

    K. whereas only limited data is available on racial discrimination in the education system; whereas, however, evidence suggests that children of African descent in the Member States are awarded lower grades than their white peers in schools, and early school leaving is markedly higher among children of African descent(12);

    L. whereas adults and children of African descent are increasingly vulnerable when held in police custody, with numerous incidents of violence and deaths recorded; having regard to the routine use of racial profiling, discriminatory stop?and?search practices and surveillance in the context of abuse of power in law enforcement, crime prevention, counter-terrorism measures, or immigration control;

    M. whereas legal remedies for discrimination exist and strong and specific policies are needed to address the structural racism experienced by people of African descent in Europe, including in employment, education, health, criminal justice and political participation and in the impact of migration and asylum policies and practices;

    N. whereas people of African descent in Europe experience discrimination in the housing market and spatial segregation in low-income areas, with poor quality and cramped housing;

    O. whereas people of African descent have contributed significantly to building European society throughout history, and whereas large numbers of them face discrimination in the labour market;

    P. whereas people of African descent are disproportionally represented among the lower- income strata of the European population;

    Q. whereas people of African descent are overwhelmingly underrepresented in political and lawmaking institutions, at European, national and local levels in the European Union;

    R. whereas politicians of African descent are still facing ignominious attacks in public sphere at both national and European levels;

    S. whereas the racism and discrimination experienced by people of African descent is structural and often intersects with other forms of discrimination and oppression on the basis of sex, race, colour, ethnic or social origin, genetic features, language, religion or belief, political or any other opinion, membership of a national minority, property, birth, disability, age or sexual orientation;

    T. whereas a rise in Afrophobic attacks in Europe has recently been directly targeted against third-country nationals, particularly refugees and migrants;

    • 1. Calls on the Member States and the EU institutions to recognise that people of African descent are subjected to racism, discrimination and xenophobia in particular, and to the unequal enjoyment of human and fundamental rights in general, amounting to structural racism, and that they are entitled to protection from these inequities both as individuals and as a group, including positive measures for the promotion and the full and equal enjoyment of their rights;

      2. Considers that active and meaningful social, economic, political and cultural participation by people of African descent is key to tackling the phenomenon of Afrophobia and ensuring their inclusion in Europe;

      3. Calls on the Commission to develop an EU framework for national strategies for the social inclusion and integration of people of African descent;

      4. Condemns strongly any physical or verbal attacks targeting people of African descent in both public and private spheres;

      5. Encourages the EU institutions and the Member States to officially acknowledge and mark the histories of people of African descent in Europe, including of past and ongoing injustices and crimes against humanity, such as slavery and the transatlantic slave trade, or those committed under European colonialism, as well as the vast achievements and positive contributions of people of African descent, through both the official recognition at EU and national level of the International Day of Remembrance of the Victims of Slavery and the Transatlantic Slave Trade and through establishing Black History Months;

      6. Encourages the Member States and the European institutions to formally mark both the UN International Decade for People of African Descent and to take effective measures for the implementation of the programme of activities in a spirit of recognition, justice and development;

      7. Recalls that some Member States have taken steps toward meaningful and effective redress for past injustices and crimes against humanity - bearing in mind their lasting impacts in the present – against people of African descent;

      8. Calls for the EU institutions and the remainder of the Member States to follow this example, which may include some form of reparations such as offering public apologies and the restitution of stolen artefacts to their countries of origin;

      9. Calls on the Member States to declassify their colonial archives;

      10. Calls for the EU institutions and the Member States to make efforts to systematically fight ethnic discrimination and hate crime and, along with other key stakeholders, to develop effective, evidence-based legal and policy responses to these phenomena; considers that if data on ethnic discrimination and hate crime were to be collected, it should be for the sole purpose of identifying the roots of and combating xenophobic and discriminatory discourse and acts, in accordance with the relevant national legal frameworks and EU data protection legislation;

      11. Calls on the Member States to develop national anti-racism strategies that address the comparative situation of people of African descent in areas such as education, housing, health, employment, policing, social services, the justice system and political participation and representation, and to encourage the participation of people of African descent in television programmes and other media, in order to adequately address their lack of representation, as well as the lack of role models for children of African descent;

      12. Stresses the important role of civil society organisations in combating racism and discrimination, and calls for an increase in financial support at European, national and local level for grassroots organisations;

      13. Calls for the Commission to include a focus on people of African descent in its current funding programmes and for the next multiannual period;

      14. Calls on the Commission to set up a dedicated team within the relevant services, with a specific focus on Afrophobia issues;

      15. Insists that Member States implement and properly enforce the Council Framework Decision on combating certain forms and expressions of racism and xenophobia by means of criminal law, in particular the inclusion of bias motivations for crimes based on race, national or ethnic origin as an aggravating factor to ensure that hate crimes against people of African descent are recorded, investigated, prosecuted and sanctioned;

      16. Calls on the Member States to effectively respond to hate crime, including the investigation of bias motivation for crimes based on race, national or ethnic origin, and to ensure that hate crimes against people of African descent are recorded, investigated, prosecuted and sanctioned;

      17. Calls on the Member States to end racial or ethnic profiling in all forms in criminal law enforcement, counter-terrorism measures and immigration controls, and to officially recognise and combat practices of unlawful discrimination and violence through anti-racism and anti-bias training for the authorities;

      18. Calls on the Member States to denounce and discourage racist and Afrophobic traditions;

        So what about the injustices against Europeans and people of European descent that have never been recognized – European women that were enslaved (the word “slave” is derived from “Slave”) by the Muslim Turks and North Africans, and European men who were enslaved, castrated and turned into Janissary killing machines? So, EU and UN, what about the Muslim sex trade in young European and American girls going on now?

          Those colossal Crimes against Humanity were committed by culture-enriching people-of-color (as a more racially homogeneous Islam was at that time) and cannot be classified by currently accredited historians as any sort of organized hatred or general unpleasantness. Libraries of legal precedent, repeated consensus, and Karl Marx himself (without whom – along with famous Hollyweird stars – we’d never know how to vote) all teach us that it’s impossible for minorities to be racist.

          Such despicability as bigotry and slavery are debaucheries of the human soul that Caucasians alone may entertain. This now-accepted political wisdom comes from a Left that’s so hardcore in its inclusiveness to where even the slightest dissent with this orthodoxy constitutes irrefutable proof of White Supremacy.

          Social Justice Warriors are so smitten with tilting at their newly bleached shibboleth to where—without a hint of that eternal hobgoblin (per RWE), discrimination [gasp!]—they generously expand this category of evildoer to include such intellectual deplorables as Candace Owens.

          A foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds, adored by little statesmen and philosophers and divines. With consistency a great soul has simply nothing to do. He may as well concern himself with his shadow on the wall.

  30. the gateway pundit – Joe di Genova: Barack Obama Knew James Comey Was Going to Blackmail the incoming President of the United States

    Former US Attorney Joe di Genova joined Judge Jeanine Pirro on Saturday night on the Justice with Judge Jeanine show.

    Pirro and di Genova discussed the recent developments in the spygate scandal.

    Joe di Genova pointed out that the current FBI Director Christopher Wray is “an empty suit” and an “embarrassmemnt” to the agency.

    Judge Jeanine then added that she knew the first time that he testified before Congress that he was an empty suit.

    Di Genova then went on to pummel James Comey, “Here’s the thing. James Comey is talking because he is delusional… He believes nothing will happen to him. He is a very, very, very strange man.”

    And before the segment ended Joe di Genova dropped this bomb on Barack Obama.

    Joe di Genova: Remember, that briefing of President-elect Trump occurred on January 6th. And the day before on January 5th there was a meeting in the White House with President Obama, Vice President Biden, James Comey, Sally Yates and Susan Rice. And what were they discussing? The counter intellgence investigation against the incoming president of the United States.

    Barack Obama knew that James Comey was going to blackmail the incoming president of the United States.

    Obama was in on it.
