Daily Links Post graphic

Each day at just after midnight Eastern, a post like this one is created for contributors and readers of this site to upload news links and video links on the issues that concern this site. Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

This is the new Samizdat. We muse use it while we can.

  1. AP- Transgender troops brace for Trump’s military ban

  4. Italy: One in Five Arrests Are Foreigners Despite Being 8.7 Percent of Population (breitbart, Apr 11, 2019)
    https://www.breitbart.com/europe/2019/04/11/italy-one-five-arrests-foreigners-despite-8-7-percent-population/

“Statistics from Italian police have shown that around one-fifth of the total arrests made last year in the country were of foreigners.

The report claims that 5,173 people were arrested by the country’s police force last year and that of those, 990 were foreign-born nationals, Italian newspaper Il Giornale reports.

The police added that Albanians and Nigerians were the largest groups of foreigners represented in the statistics followed by Moroccans, Romanians, and Tunisians.

The number of arrests — around one in five — is in stark contrast to the total foreign population of Italy which sits at just 8.7 percent or less than one in ten, according to Italian official demographic statistics.

Italy has developed major problems with Nigerian mafia gangs in recent years with a bust in February showing one mafia group to have used voodoo rituals and threats of violence to keep trafficked prostitutes obeying their orders.

The group was shown to be part of a much larger network in Nigeria and Libya which would coordinate the trafficking of women into Italy illegally so that they could be forced to work the streets as prostitutes.

Italian criminologist Alessandro Meluzzi also highlighted the brutality of the Nigerian mafia last year after it was revealed that the prime suspect in the murder and dismemberment of Italian teen Pamela Mastropietro had been a Nigerian drug dealer.

“What we have seen in the case of Pamela are the same methods the Nigerian mafia systematically employs in Nigeria and elsewhere. It is a routine to cut victims into pieces and, in some cases, to eat parts of their bodies, ” Meluzzi said.

While the number of arrests of foreigners stood at one-fifth of the national total, the number of crimes thought to be committed by foreigners in Italy is much higher according to a 2018 report which claimed as many as one in three crimes is committed by a foreigner.”

  6. Emotions run high as Holy Staircase reopened in Rome

Emotional pilgrims climb the Scala Santa or Holy Staircase on their knees, for the first time since 1723 when the steps were covered in wooden planks to preserve them.

The marble staircase of 28 steps is believed in the Roman Catholic tradition to have been the staircase Jesus Christ walked before his judgement before the Roman prefect Pontius Pilate.

The steps are open to pilgrims for a short time only, and in two months will once again be covered in wood to protect the soft marble.

    I-Team
Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx lets Derrion Albert killer off the hook

CHICAGO (WLS) — The family of 16-year-old Derrion Albert wants to know why one of the men convicted in his murder is now free. The 16-year-old Fenger High School honors student was on the way home from school when he was caught in the middle of a gang fight and killed in 2009.

The I-Team has been looking into the Cook County State’s Attorney decisions in the wake of the Jussie Smollett case and uncovered that the Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx decided not to pursue a stiff prison sentence for one of the attackers shortly after she took office.

Cook County prosecutors charged four teens involved in the gang melee that led to Albert’s death as adults. Three were convicted of murder at trial. One pleaded guilty. All are serving prison sentences.

But one teen – known then as “D.J.” – was 14 at the time. Prosecutors say he punched Albert and knocked him down, saying that he signed “his death certificate.”

Prosecutors decided to charge him as a juvenile in a special kind of case called an Extended Jurisdiction Juvenile prosecution or EJJ.

    • Make this video go viral. Our friends in the nations that have removed the people’s right to keep and bear arms know that what the man says is true. Last Century they allowed the government to disarm them and this Century the government is removing the rest of their rights. If freedom is to survive in the world the people of the US must use the Second Amendment the way it was meant to be used, to protect the rest of our rights.

An armed population is a free population, as disarmed population are slaves waiting for the chains to be slapped on.
