Daily Links Post graphic

Each day at just after midnight Eastern, a post like this one is created for contributors and readers of this site to upload news links and video links on the issues that concern this site. Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

This is the new Samizdat. We muse use it while we can.

  1. ‘Progressive’ = the New Nazi
Democratic Socialists, National Socialists and the ties that bind.
    March 21, 2019
    Joseph Hippolito

Before Donald Trump was elected President, and certainly since, self-described “progressives” or “democratic socialists” in the Democratic Party have denigrated anybody who opposes their agenda as Nazis. But are they engaging in psychological projection? Consider the following recent events.

Comments by Rep. Ilhan Omar, Rep. Jim Clyburn and Rep. Rashida Tlaib display contempt for Jews — in Rep. Clyburn’s case, for victims of the Holocaust. Heavily Democratic legislatures in New York, Illinois and Virginia perpetuate the wanton destruction of human life by passing laws allowing abortion to the moment of birth. In Virginia, Democratic Gov. Ralph Northam said a woman can choose whether a baby who survived a botched abortion should live. False flags are cynically organized to delude the unsuspecting and promote an agenda. Behind those developments is the pervasive identity politics that defines some groups as inherently better than others.

In those four areas — anti-Semitism, genocide, false flags and identity politics — do “democratic socialists” and Nazis share more than the former want to admit.

Contempt for Jews is not limited to Nazis or “democratic socialists.” But by embracing Islam in their politics of “diversity” and “inclusion,” the “democratic socialists” tolerate Islam’s anti-Semitism. The Nazis understood the connection between Islam and anti-Semitism so well that they sought Islam as an ally in their politics of extermination.

  2. Immigration: The Big Lies
How the establishment media’s distortion of the truth undermines America.
    March 21, 2019
    Michael Cutler

The Third Reich’s principle of the “Big Lie” involved the frequent repetition of lies until they became perceived as the truth by the masses.

George Orwell noted, “Political language is designed to make lies sound truthful and murder respectable, and to give an appearance of solidity to pure wind. ”

In this era of “Fake News” those tactics are purposely wielded by “journalists” to mislead Americans.

On March 15, 2019, News Leader, a subsidiary of USA Today, published an infuriating opinion piece, “School owes apology for ICE agent talk at Kate Collins Middle: Our View.”

While the article noted that the ICE agent was invited to the school and limited his activities to simply addressing the students of that school to explain the mission of ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement), the mere presence of that federal agent at a public school was enough to set off the editors who wrote their hit piece.

The editors of the publication then spewed utter lies and false “facts” from beginning to end to justify their vitriolic attack on the agency that is charged with enforcing federal immigration laws.

Here is the opening salvo they fired against ICE:

  3. Bungling Sussex police record less than HALF of all knife crime (express, mar 21, 2019)
    https://www.express.co.uk/news/uk/1103480/knife-crime-epidemic-police-record-double-sussex

“THE true level of knife crime was more than double the level recorded by one local force, it was revealed yesterday.

Sussex Police yesterday admitted that more than half of crimes involving a knife had not been properly monitored because officers routinely failed to tick the relevant box on paperwork. As a result, last year only 298 cases were recorded instead of 827. In 2017, 305 cases were recorded instead of 729.

Admitting the embarrassing error, Deputy Chief Constable Jo Shiner said: “There was a recording issue which was completely down to the system.

“We’ve uncovered it, we’ve got the solution in progress.”

She added that after the correct totals were calculated, the force remained “comfortable with where we are” on a national table of knife crime.

But the force had to admit that the error had simply been down to a bureaucratic failure…”

  6. Migrants Menace Brit Truckers with ‘Bats, Chains, Knives, Guns’, and Rape Threats (breitbart, mar 21, 2019)
    https://www.breitbart.com/europe/2019/03/21/france-migrants-menace-brit-truckers-bats-chains-knives-guns-female-driver-threatened-rape/

“British lorry drivers have been left “sitting ducks” by a work-to-rule strike by French customs officials, with illegal migrants hoping to infiltrate the United Kingdom taking advantage of the queues to threaten truckers with violence and even rape.

The Road Haulage Association said it had had feedback from one of its drivers suggesting he was delayed for a full twelve hours while attempting to board a ferry from Dunkirk, France, to Dover, England, KentOnline reports.

“First for us comes the welfare of drivers and they are sitting ducks to migrants,” an RHA spokesman stated bluntly.

“They have been threatened with baseball bats, chains, knives, and guns.”

“We had a report from a woman driver who was told if she didn’t let migrants into her cab she would be raped,” a colleague added.

“That particular incident happened 18 months to two years ago outside Calais but it shows these migrants will stop at nothing to get into the UK.”

The situation along the French coast is so dire, in fact, that the Road Haulage Association are demanding that French president Emmanuel Macron send in military forces to protect drivers and restore order.

“Yet again we’re hearing horrifying stories of truckers running a gauntlet of people trying to break into their lorries. It’s completely unacceptable. The French authorities need to do more to protect UK-bound lorries,” demanded RHA chief executive Richard Burnett.

Illegal migrants determined to reach Britain have gone well beyond threats on several occasions.

For example, an ordinary commuter was killed when they crashed into a tree trunk trap migrants had set on the road to Calais, designed to make lorries slow down enough to allow them to leap aboard.

In another incident, a Lithuanian driver was stabbed by migrant stowaways with the knife they used to cut their way into his trailer while inspecting it at a rest-stop last summer, leaving him “seriously injured”.

Another driver was hospitalised with a serious head injury after a group of migrants ambushed him and beat him unconscious with a brick and hijacked his vehicle while he was inspecting the damage from a previous boarding attempt.

Drivers are increasingly afraid to check their vehicles for boarders in light of the increasing violence – but often feel they have no choice but to do so, as the authorities impose heavy fines if they find a vehicle is harbouring stowaways.”

  7. Austrian Monks give Up Feeding Poor After Homeless Migrant Violence (breitbart, Mar 21, 2019)
    https://www.breitbart.com/europe/2019/03/21/austrian-monks-give-up-feeding-poor-migrant-homeless-violence/

“Austrian Franciscan monks in Salzburg will cease feeding the poor after a number of violent incidents from foreign migrants.

The food service for the poor ended officially following an incident on Sunday in which four Romanian migrant beggars started fighting with each other in front of the Franciscan church, with monk Father Oliver also being physically attacked, as well, Kronen Zeitung reports.

“I was personally attacked, kicked, and hit on the head,” Father Oliver said.

Churchgoers said they felt threatened by the primarily Romanian gangs of beggars who frequented the churches for food. “I recently accompanied an elderly lady to her car because she was afraid of the beggars,” Brother Bedia, another monk, said.

Previously, the Franciscans had fed around 40 migrant beggars — out of a total of 90 in Salzburg — every day at their monastery despite the migrants’ lack of respect, the Romanians said to often be drunk and habitually throwing their cigarette butts on the floor of the monastery.

The Sunday incident was also not the first case of violence as in November of last year, a monastic helper has his tooth knocked out by one of the beggars, forcing the monks to pick up the bill for the subsequent dental repair work.

Christian charities, including the Roman Catholic NGO Caritas, have been heavily involved with helping migrants since the height of the migrant crisis in 2015.

Pope Francis has also been a firm advocate of welcoming asylum seekers, urging Christians to overcome their fear of migrants earlier this year. “Can we not realise that this is exactly what Jesus demands of us, when he tells us that in welcoming the stranger we welcome him?” he said.

Despite the open border rhetoric from the Pope and several prominent Cardinals, many Catholics and even some clergy have pushed back against mass migration.

Polls have shown growing support for populist Italian Interior Minister Matteo Salvini and declining support for Pope Francis’s migration views.”

“Dozens are missing and bodies have washed ashore after a boat carrying 44 migrants seeking a better life in Europe capsized off the coast of Libya, officials said Thursday.

Jassim Ayoub, a spokesman for the Libyan navy, said the coast guard of the western city of Sabratha has rescued 17 migrants since the boat capsized Tuesday. Bodies, including those of children, have also been retrieved from the water. Most of the migrants were from African countries, he said.

Thousands of migrants have perished trying to make the perilous Mediterranean crossing, often undertaking it in crowded wooden ships or inflatable rafts…”

“Two men brandishing a machete and a baseball bat were filmed confronting each other in broad daylight in a shocking road rage attack in London.

Police were called at around 3pm to Brockley, near south east London yesterday after reports of an armed conflict.

The two drivers had parked in the middle of a residential street and emerged shouting and screaming at each other after trying to ‘ram each other off the road.’…”

Scores of buses stopped traveling their regular routes and fruit stands closed in the Siberian city of Yakutsk following protests sparked by allegations that Central Asian migrants raped a local woman, Russian media have reported.

Three suspects were detained on charges of kidnapping and raping a local resident this week. Hundreds of locals attended rallies in the wake of the reported March 17 rape, which has been blamed on a migrant from Kyrgyzstan.

A majority of fruit and vegetable shops remained closed and bus drivers did not show up to work in Yakutsk on Tuesday, Interfax reported. Sergei Maximov, the head of the Yakutsk passenger transportation company, said some drivers avoided going to work “for fear of violence.”

Videos shared by local outlets showed locals making threats against fruit stand and fast food workers of Central Asian origin.

Local police urged residents not to sow discord and vowed to crack down on “the instigators of ethnic strife,” local media reported.

Aysen Nikolayev, the governor of the republic of Sakha, announced a raft of measures against illegal migration in the wake of the protests, including deportations and tighter restrictions for labor migrants. Nikolayev also promised that law enforcement would take crimes committed by migrants under “special control.”

The incident comes less than a year after a high-profile rape sparked ethnic tensions in Yakutsk, prompting the leader of the Kyrgyz diaspora to issue a public apology.

Siberian City Holds Unauthorized Protest After Rape Blamed on Migrants

Residents in the Siberian city of Yakutsk held an unauthorized rally on Sunday after unconfirmed reports alleged that Central Asian migrants raped a local woman.

On March 17, a female Yakutsk resident was kidnapped and raped, then fled after her captor fell asleep, the Yakutsk Prosecutor’s Office said in a statement. A source in the regional Interior Ministry told the RBC news website that three migrants from Central Asia were suspected of the crime, and one of them has reportedly been detained.

According to police estimates, about 200 people attended the Sunday rally, the Yakutia.Info regional outlet reported. The outlet also reported that locals are planning another protest on Monday.

A local mosque in the city has been put under heightened security as a result of the rally.

On Monday, Aysen Nikolayev, head of the republic of Sakha, said that the crime was committed by Kyrgyz nationals and promised to step up the fight against illegal migration.

“I understand the motives of the residents of Yakutsk who gathered spontaneously last night. The case caused a sharp public response precisely because migrants, citizens of Kyrgyzstan, committed this brazen attack,” Nikolayev wrote on his Facebook page.

In a statement posted on its website on Monday, the local Investigative Committee said that “crime has no nationality” and urged residents of the republic of Sakha to refrain from any actions that “may lead to ethnic conflicts.”

  16. Colorado’s Attorney General Tells Sheriffs to Resign Over Gun Control While Refusing to Enforce Immigration Laws

Colorado Attorney General Phil Weiser has opened his mouth and removed all doubt that he is a partisan political hack. Testifying before a Colorado State Senate committee about sheriffs who refuse to enforce Colorado’s proposed “red flag” law, Weiser said, “The right thing to do for a sheriff who says ‘I can’t follow the law’ is to resign.”

    https://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/2019/03/john-boch/colorados-attorney-general-tells-sheriffs-to-resign-over-gun-control-while-refusing-to-enforce-immigration-laws/?utm_source=wideopen&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=wideopen&utm_content=%5B%5Brssitem_title%5D%5D

Colorado’s attorney general says sheriffs who won’t carry out a red flag bill court order “should resign”

A growing number of counties have declared themselves so-called “Second Amendment sanctuaries.” But does that mean commissioners want their sheriffs to disobey court-issued extreme risk protection orders?

As county after county responds to the red flag gun bill making its way through the state legislature by declaring themselves a so-called Second Amendment sanctuary, Colorado’s attorney general says that any sheriff who disregards a court order under the measure “should resign.”

“If a sheriff cannot follow the law, the sheriff cannot do his or her job,” Phil Weiser, a Democrat, testified before a state Senate committee Friday. “The right thing to do for a sheriff who says ‘I can’t follow the law’ is to resign.”

The legislation, House Bill 1177, would give judges the authority to issue an order to temporarily seize firearms from a person considered a significant risk to themselves or others. It has faced immense backlash from Republicans and gun-rights groups, who question its constitutionality and want to see a mental health-treatment option instead.

County commissions that have made their counties “sanctuaries” say they don’t want their elected sheriffs enforcing a law they don’t think is legally sound. But what’s not totally clear is if that means refusing to use the tools provided under the measure, or defying a court order to seize weapons.

    https://coloradosun.com/2019/03/20/colorado-second-amendment-sanctuary-counties-court/

Richard: Note how the Attorney General in a Sanctuary State is telling the Sheriffs that they don’t have the right to do the very thing he is doing, He is refusing to enforce the US Immigration laws that he disagrees, but he insists that the County Sheriffs enforce Gun Laws t hey disagree with.”.

This is the opening moves in a civil war, some people who don’t know history have been predicting that the civil war would start this way, the problem is they predict that it will stay at this level with the assassination of State and County leaders being the top level of violence in the civil war.

The violence will probably start that way but won’t be limited to assassination there will be fights between State Police and Sheriffs Departments with the National Guard for the state splitting on which side they will support. Most will support the people who are fighting to preserve the Constitution.

The Revolutionary War was started over the confiscation of privately owned firearms looks like the Second Civil War will start over confiscation of firearms.

“The Hindu community in the Daharki town of Sindh’s Ghotki district took to the streets on Thursday to protest against the kidnapping of two girls.

Following the incident, a snippet went viral on social media in which the two girls claimed that they have converted to Islam. “No one has forced us, we have embraced Islam at will,” the two maintained.

Hailing from a scheduled caste, Hindu community leaders alleged that Reveena and Reena had been abducted by people from the Kohbar and Malik tribes on the eve of Holi.

“We approached the police to lodge a first information report (FIR) but all in vain,” a community leader said as he continued to protest.

Hindu community leader Mukhi Shiv Menghwar said that “it was not free will and the girls were in fact kidnapped and forcibly converted”.

In the aftermath of the incident, MPA Nand Kumar Goklani, who had initially moved a bill against forced conversions, urged the government to get a law passed immediately.

“The Turkish Foreign Ministry has strongly slammed Czech President Milos Zeman who accused Turkey of allying with ISIL in its fight against Syrian Kurds.

“We strongly condemn the statements at a panel by Czech President Milos Zeman; full of lies and slanders against our country and our president,” Hami Aksoy, the spokesman of the Turkish Foreign Ministry, said in a written statement on March 21.

Zeman, at a panel held in Vintirov province of his country, reportedly accused Turkey of siding with ISIL due to “ideological reasons” and of providing logistical assistance to the group while it stormed Iraq and Syria in the previous years.

“Turkey is contributing to the security of Europe while continuing its firm struggle against various terror organizations. It’s giving an exemplary lesson by hosting the highest number of refugees in the world. Our country neutralized around 4,000 ISIL members through operations conducted with the anti-ISIL coalition as well as the Operation Euphrates Shield,” Aksoy said, adding that these actions yielded the highest casualty on the terror organization.

He also stressed that accusations made by the Czech president do not comply with the traditional and allied relationship between the two countries.”

  23. Israel, Greece revive plan to surveil Turkey with radar (hurriyetdailynews, Mar 21, 2019)
    http://www.hurriyetdailynews.com/israel-greece-revive-plan-to-surveil-turkey-with-radar-142059

“Israel plans to build advanced marine radar on the Greek island of Crete in a bid to watch the route of a planned natural gas pipeline that will carry gas to Greek Cyprus and Greece.

The revived “Long Horizon” project will possess the capacity to watch most of Turkish shores when it gets added to Israel’s currently installed systems, Greek and Israeli media reports said on March 20.

For the past couple of months, Israel and Greece, along with Greek Cyprus, have been strengthening their economic and military cooperation, including the planned construction of a 2,000-kilometer-long underwater pipeline in the eastern Mediterranean and new boosted marine radar.

The installation of the “Long Horizon” radar system in eastern Crete is expected to provide the monitoring countries a competitive edge with its extensive coverage area that goes beyond the existing traditional radars.

Apart from its enhanced functions that allows a strategic advantage by ensuring an extensive coverage of surface area, the extended radar system also grants missiles certain capabilities concerning target-shooting.

Israel’s existing radar systems already allow the country to surveil Turkish territory in the Mediterranean and southeastern regions, but with the Long Horizon, Israel’s capability to monitor Turkey will increase two-fold.

The radar system is capable of monitoring a 600-kilometer radius area with the help of unmanned aerial vehicles.

This area corresponds to the region covering Cyprus, a part of the Aegean Sea extending over to the Dardanelles and the whole Aegean and Mediterranean regions of Turkey.

With the help of this marine radar, Israel, Greece and Cyprus will be able to surveil Turkish soil as well as vessel movements across the eastern Mediterranean basin 24 hours a day.

In the joint radar station, Israeli experts will perform the initial tasks and Greece will be able to acquire data gathered from the radar.

As soon as Greece’s economic circumstances allow, the country is expected to purchase the radar system.

The “Long Horizon” project first emerged during Greek Defense Minister Panos Kommenos’ trip to Israel’s capital Tel Aviv in 2015, but was suspended temporarily due to Greece’s deepening financial troubles which eventually led to its bankruptcy in the same year.

As the agenda shifted towards the newly-claimed natural gas resources in eastern Mediterranean in the offshores of Israel and the Cyprus island, the project once again came to the fore.

Meanwhile, Greece’s foreign minister is in Turkey today, according to a statement released by the Turkish Foreign Ministry yesterday.

The statement said Georgios Katrougalos will pay a working visit to the southern province of Antalya upon the invitation of Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavu?o?lu.

“Bilateral as well as regional issues will be discussed during the visit,” the statement said.

Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras paid a two-day visit to Turkey on Feb. 5-6, where he met with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdo?an.”

  24. Rise of white supremacy discussed at Istanbul seminar (aa, Mar 20, 2019)

“The rise of anti-Islamic tendencies and white supremacy across the world were discussed at a seminar in Istanbul on Wednesday in the wake of the recent New Zealand terror attacks.

The Center for Islam and Global Affairs (CIGA) at Istanbul Sabahattin Zaim University (IZU) hosted the seminar, titled “Islamophobia, New Zealand and Hate: The Rise of White Supremacists.”

In his speech, Sami Al-Arian, director of the Center for Islam and Global Affairs (CIGA), said white supremacy is “something that has to be taken seriously because of the damage [it has caused] around the world.”

Al-Arian recalled the 2011 Norway attacks which left 77 dead as well as the ideology of Anders Behring Breivik, who carried them out.

“He [Breivik] mentioned the name, for instance, of Robert Spencer 64 times [in his manifesto]. He is a very well-known person who hates Islam and Muslims.

“Another person he [Breivik] mentioned was Daniel Pipes, who has made a career of attacking Islam and Muslims. He also mentioned Pamela Geller…and what brings them together and puts them in the same field is they have been the voices of Islamic hatred in the world since 9/11,” he said.

Last week, at least 50 Muslims were killed and as many injured when Australian-born Brenton Tarrant, 28, entered the Al Noor and Linwood mosques in Christchurch and shot indiscriminately at those inside.

Tarrant has been charged over the massacre and is being held at a maximum-security prison in Auckland.

Four children under the age of 18 were shot dead in cold blood and other children are still being treated at nearby hospitals.

In regards to the attacks in New Zealand and the terrorist who carried them out, Al-Arian said, “He [Tarrant] thought Islam is the challenge that must be overcome for the white race to stay, because this mentality only sees things in terms of race”.

“You could see in the manifesto of this killer, he said the ‘ones that he hates the most are the converts,’ because he thinks that they betray. They betray their race.

“Islam is the religion that actually has every race, every ethnicity and every language,” he stressed. “They [Muslims] consider all of them as one Ummah and one nation.”

Stating that Islamophobia took place in different forms whether in school, at work and in the streets recently, Al-Arian said: “This atmosphere that has been created especially after the tragic events of 9/11, 2001, has made Muslims fearful of speaking out.”

    Excluding Muslims

“The real aim of this is to exclude them from any kind of seat at the table, any public issues, to exclude them from participating in forums, organizations and politics and public affairs,” he said.

Without naming anyone, Al-Arian gave examples of Muslims who were recently elected to the U.S. Congress.

“You can see that today, for instance, when a couple of Muslims were elected to Congress and how they are being attacked viciously every single day.”

The academic also spoke of the media’s role in shaping people’s thoughts on Islam and Muslims.

“In Australia, for example, in 2017, there were 3,000 articles on Islam and Muslims. Out of these 3,000, there were 600 headlines — all of them negative on Islam and Muslims. That’s about eight per day,” he said.

Meanwhile, Yusuf Kaplan, an academic at Istanbul Sabahattin Zaim University, said the recent terror attacks were not “accidental” acts.

“I was expecting that kind of horror story because we are living in a world which is dominated by a lawless and an illegal, in my opinion, world system,” Kaplan said.

“We are living in this kind of world. In theory, it is based on human rights, democracy and rule of law. In reality, it produces the most horrible stories. It is the result of the Western white supremacy,” he added.

“We see the violence against God, violence against nature and all the civilizations,” he noted.

Muslims do not take revenge, he said.

“We cannot say that we have to take revenge. That is our power. It is not the practice of Muslims.”

What happened in New Zealand was not Islamophobia, Kaplan said.

“It is the hate against Islam,” he added.”

    • Have we not had fifty years of mozlem revenge?at least that is what they tell us they are doing, they really should get their stories straight.

  25. Concern as Swiss parliament backs plan to deport terrorists (thelocal, Mar 21, 2019)
    https://www.thelocal.ch/20190321/concern-as-swiss-parliament-backs-plans-to-deport-terrorists-isis-jihadism

“Amnesty International has criticized the Swiss parliament after it voted in favour of a motion to deport convicted terrorists even in cases where they face torture or death.
The human rights organization said in a statement that Switzerland faced violating international law with the proposal.

Under the international non-refoulement principle, countries cannot return refugees to countries where they are at serious risk of persecution.

The Swiss constitution also states: “No person may be deported to a state in which they face the threat of torture or any other form of cruel or inhumane treatment or punishment.”

However, in a tight vote, the Swiss senate this week voted in favour of a controversial motion that would allow convicted members of terrorist groups like so-called Islamic State (ISIS or IS) to be deported even in cases where they face persecution in their home country.

That vote came after the lower house of the Swiss parliament also backed the proposal.

The decision was sending a “very negative signal” to the rest of the world, Amnesty International said in its statement.

The Swiss government had previously recommended that the parliament reject the motion (here in German) put forward by Christian Democrat (SVP) politician Fabio Regazzi.

    Legislation to be drawn up

The 2016 motion came in response to a case in which several Iraqi citizens were convicted of planning a terrorist attack in Switzerland but could not be deported after completing their prison terms as they faced torture or even death sentences.

In his original motion, Regazzi referred to an article in the 1951 Geneva Convention which states that refugees who present a danger to the country where they reside, or who have been found guilty of a serious crimes, should not be protected by the non-refoulement principle.

But the Swiss government stated that the clause in the Swiss constitution banning the deportation of people to countries where they faced danger took precedence.

During a debate on the motion in the lower house last year, critics described it as “populist” and as an example of “hysteria”.

However, both the senate and the lower house have now defied the government.

The Swiss government now faces the difficult task of attempting to draw up draft legislation that ensures the country meets its obligation under international law while also meeting the demands of the parliament.”
