Contributor’s Links post for January 5th, 2019

Daily Links Post graphic

Each day at just after midnight Eastern, a post like this one is created for contributors and readers of this site to upload news links and video links on the issues that concern this site. Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

This is the new Samizdat. We muse use it while we can.

Danish Prime Minister Lars Lokke Rasmussen tweeted that he was “very satisfied” with Mansour’s deportation: “Said Mansour has been handed over to the Moroccan authorities. A final end to a pertinent effort to carry out the Danish Supreme Court’s ruling to deport him in 2016…. It sends a clear message that criminal foreigners, who so obviously act against the Danish values and promote terrorism, do not belong in Denmark.”…”

  3. Suspect of murdering two Turkish girls in Ukraine caught in Turkey: Report (hurriyetdailynews, Jan 5, 2019)
    http://www.hurriyetdailynews.com/suspect-of-murdering-two-turkish-girls-in-ukraine-caught-in-turkey-report-140285

“The man identified by the police in the Ukrainian city of Kharkiv as the main suspect of killing two Turkish students on Dec. 31 was caught by Turkish police in Istanbul, Demirören News Agency reported on Jan. 5.

Hüsnü Can Ç., 20, thought to be ex-boyfriend of Buket Y?ld?z, was detained by police in a cemetery in Istanbul’s suburban district of Pendik. He was carrying a knife and a blank firing gun.

The suspect went to Ukraine 10 days before the murders, according to security sources.

The door of the apartment was not opened forcibly, making the police believe that the suspect had spare keys or Y?ld?z invited him in.

The murderer first killed Y?ld?z, slitting her throat, according to findings. Then he came across her housemate Zeynep Hüsnübey, who was coming home from shopping, at the door and stabbed her to death.

Hüsnü Can Ç. took a flight to Istanbul, the Ukrainian police told Turkish counterparts. An international arrest warrant was issued for him.

The bodies of Y?ld?z and Hüsünbeyi were discovered on Jan. 3 after one of the victims’ friends failed to reach them and went to the police.”

    https://www.aa.com.tr/en/economy/turkey-one-of-safest-countries-in-terms-of-investment/1356914

“Turkey is still one of the world’s most liberal and safest countries in terms of investment, the country’s president said on Saturday.

Speaking at the opening of PepsiCo factory in Turkey’s Aegean province of Manisa, Recep Tayyip Erdogan applauded Turkey’s economy despite the challenges it faced.

It has been the sixth factory of PepsiCo that opened in Turkey. The facility — which has started operating with over $100 million investment — employs 300 people.

“Turkey continues to be a safe harbor for international investors despite all instability around the country,” Erdogan said.

Turkish investments abroad reached $38 billion thanks to special incentives of myself and our government, he added.

“Total value of projects that Turkish contractors undertake worth $372 billion in 122 countries,” Erdogan said.

The president also stated that international and local investors would prefer to go to southeastern Turkey once it is cleared of terrorists.

“We will see those days. That day when there will be no trace of terror,” he added.

Turkey’s exports hit an all-time high with $168.1 billion last year, the country’s trade minister said on Friday.

Ruhsar Pekcan stated that exports in 2018 climbed 7.1 percent year-on-year, compared with nearly $157 billion in the previous year.”

Rudaw news, a Kurdish outlet, reports that the British soldiers were injured in attack on a Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) base in the town of Deir al-Zour.

It was also reported that a Kurdish fighter was killed.

An SDF official told Rudaw: “Due to a smart missile attack by ISIS, a fighter of the YPG was killed and another wounded, in addition to two British soldiers.”

The incident was first revealed by members of the Kurdish-led People’s Protection Units (YPG) on social media…”

  6. Here’s a blurb on a micro-lender started by Jewish immigrants to Pittsburgh in 1887. https://www.post-gazette.com/business/pittsburgh-company-news/2016/03/21/Hebrew-Free-Loan-fund-provides-people-businesses-with-interest-free-loans/stories/201603200082 That lender is non-sectarian, lending funds to employed people of all faiths. I just noticed that the micro-lender that the Jewish community has in Washington, DC–which does limit its scope to families who have Jewish members–is reaching out to Federal employees in the US. To expand on the questions from the Passover seder, “Why is this shutdown different from other shutdowns?” Could be: On all other shutdowns, Trump was not President.
http://web.archive.org/web/20190106023722/https://hebrewfreeloandc.org/ ALERT: WE ARE MAKING EMERGENCY LOANS FOR FEDERAL EMPLOYEES AFFECTED BY THE GOVERNMENT SHUTDOWN AVAILABLE.
http://hebrewfreeloan.org/ [Baltimore for some reason does not sense the urgency, so its website confines itself to the usual reasons that free loan associations function]: We offer loans for a variety of needs, including: • Adoption • Business Start-Up or Expansion • Debt Consolidation • Education • Emergencies • Home Repair • Immigrant Resettlement • Job Training • Medical/Dental Bills • Religious Observances • Transportation Needs • Work Expenses

    • If push comes to shove I pray we don’t follow the advice of the people who say take out the invasion force but leave the mainland bases alone. Trying to be nice and kind to our enemies has done nothing to stop the jihad, it will do nothing to stop China.

Take out military bases, pound them into rubble, take out the artificial islands and sink the as much of the Chinese Navy as we can catch outside of neutral harbors.

Kick their A$$ don’t P!$$ on them kick their A$$. Make everyone in the world realize that if you mess with the US when we have a strong President you will suffer a defeat that will cripple you and possible weaken your government so much it will collapse. Hit China so hard Iran shakes from the concussion. Hit China so hard crazy fat boy Kim mess his pants and hides under his bed. Let the predators know that this President doesn’t play pattycake but uses Brass Knuckles and then kicks you when you are down.

        • Yup, going in hard fast nasty and with overwhelming force that destroys the enemies military capability is the way you win wars.

General MacArthur: In war there is no substitute for victory.

Since the end of WWII the left in the US has been searching for a substitute for victory and has failed to find it.
