  1. Is that all we have of the incident? Said incident recorded by Ukrainians.
We don’t even see what type of boat that slightly touched them.

Which makes me think of a reason to promote the EU Army.
It seems to me the EU is deploying most of its tools in one sudden swoop, including the Migration Pact. Too much happening.

Which says they’re in dire need of saving themselves. We can only hope the civilian Europeans don’t fall in the trap.

    • Which makes me think of a reason to promote the EU Army.

This makes a lot of sense. Gives Macron a little boost, EU-wise. Maybe get Theresa May out of her hole, NATO-glow.
Timing’s perfect with the Suicide Migration Pact.
Plus the G-20’s coming up, poison PTrump-Putin rapport.

  2. Form what I remember of the rules of the sea lane the Tugboat had the right of war and the other ship was suppose to turn to avoid him, when it didn’t he swerved into the path of the other ship.

It was a set up but was it set up by Russia or the Ukraine?

  3. This conveniently gives Poroshenko wartime powers and effectively cancels general election in which he was set to loose miserably. That is all.

    • That’s what I heard.
One of my Russki’s sons lives in Kiev. Says crooked Poroshenko provoked the incident. Of course they’re getting pravda. He calls his brother in Israel to find out what’s happening in Mariupol.

Russia Confirms It ‘Used Weapons’ Against Ukrainian Ships

Russian naval vessels admitted they ‘used weapons’ against Ukrainian naval vessels in the Sea of Azov earlier today to force them to stop. Several Ukrainian naval personnel were wounded and are receiving medical care. There lives are not in danger. Three Ukrainian ships were seized, reported Russian news service RIA Novosti.

The FSB was cited as saying it had acted because the Ukrainian vessels had illegally entered its territorial waters, ignored warnings to stop, and manoeuvred dangerously, reported RIA.

      The Lost City Of Mariupol

Ukraine, for its part, declared Russia had been advised of the transit of the body of water, now under control of Russian forces but vital for Ukraine along the coast of the Sea of Azov for access to ports such as Mariupol. Analysts believe Russia is harassing Ukrainian shipping to put pressure on the government in Kyiv in the face of upcoming presidential elections.

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has asked the Ukrainian parliament to declare martial law.

The Trump administration has armed Ukrainian military forces in their fight against pro-Russian separatists in the Donbass region of East Ukraine. The Pentagon has declared it will help Ukraine increase the capability of its naval assets.

    • Russia Reopens Kerch Strait, Removes Blockade Of Sea Lane

Russia ended its blockade of the Kerch Strait by removing the tanker which had blocked access under the Kerch Bridge to reach open sea. Moscow still holds a couple dozen Ukrainian sailors as well as three Ukrainian naval vessels.

Russian news outlet RIA Novosti confirmed Moscow had reopened access to the Sea of Azov for all traffic. A line of freight vessels had been created by the blockade which will now be defused.

  4. Ukraine imposes martial law following clash with Russia

    {snip}
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko asked lawmakers in Kiev to institute martial law, and the proposal was overwhelmingly approved by parliament after a five-hour debate.

Martial law will be imposed for 30 days in only 10 of Ukraine’s 27 regions – those bordering Russia, Belarus and Moldova’s pro-Moscow breakaway republic of Trans-Dniester. The locations chosen were ones that Poroshenko identified as potentially in the front line of any Russian attack. The capital of Kiev is not under martial law.

Poroshenko said it was necessary because of intelligence about “a highly serious threat of a ground operation against Ukraine.” He did not elaborate.

“Martial law doesn’t mean declaring a war,” he said, according to AP. “It is introduced with the sole purpose of boosting Ukraine’s defense in the light of a growing aggression from Russia.…”

  5. Ukraine looks to impose martial law in wake of Russian ship seizure

    {snip}
The emergency measures will, if adopted by lawmakers [they were], include a partial mobilization, a strengthening of the country’s air defense, as well as a plethora of vaguely worded steps, such as the “strengthening” of anti-terrorism measures and “information security.”

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov accused Kiev of a planned provocation and of using “dangerous methods” that put ships in the area at risk.

The crisis unfolded as two small Ukrainian warships and a tugboat were heading through the Kerch Strait, a waterway that gives access to the Sea of Azov from the Black Sea and which is used by both Ukraine and Russia.

Ukraine said a Russian border guard vessel rammed the tugboat and then fired on the ships, immobilizing all three. It said the Kerch Strait was blocked by a tanker and that Russian military aircraft were flying over the area.…

“The incident marks a significant escalation of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine,” research firm Eurasia Group said.

“Western governments will side with Ukraine against Russia over the incident… making new sanctions against Russia likely.”

Poroshenko held a late-night meeting of his military cabinet, proposing the imposition of martial law in Ukraine “to ensure the security and safety of its citizens.”

Eurasia Group said martial law could have wide-ranging domestic consequences, especially with a presidential election due in March and Poroshenko behind in opinion polls.

“Poroshenko did not take this kind of action during the worst of the conflict in 2014 and 2015. This raises concerns that… it could lead to postponement of the presidential election,” it said.

Protesters gathered in several Ukrainian cities to denounce Russia’s actions, with several hundred far-right activists marching to parliament in Kiev and setting off flares.

Volodymyr Yelchenko, Ukraine’s ambassador to the U.N., told the officials at the emergency meeting that Russia orchestrated the incident. Yelchenko claims to have tapes of radio traffic that would prove his allegation.…

Ukrainian officials now believe that Russia may be preparing to seize more of Ukraine’s territory, according to Yelchenko. Poroshenko said he’s in possession of intelligence suggesting a serious threat of a land-based operation against Ukraine by Russia.…

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko ordered 30 days of martial law in response to the incident. Poroshenko wrote on Twitter that he declined to impose martial law for 60 days to avoid affecting residential election campaigns. Ukraine’s constitution calls for an election on March 31, 2019.…

Domestic politics in Moscow and Kiev add to the combustibility of the situation. Poroshenko faces a tough reelection fight early next year, with opinion polls showing him trailing his opponents.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has also seen his high approval rating fall because of unpopular domestic policies. In the past, successful military action beyond Russia’s borders has buoyed his popularity.…

Russia blocks Ukrainian Navy from Militarizing the Sea of Azov
    https://www.moonofalabama.org/2018/11/russia-blocks-ukrainian-navy-from-militarizing-the-sea-of-azov.html

The Ukrainian government under the oligarch Petro Poroshenko is in election campaign mode. That is one reason why it is launching new provocations against Russia.

Yesterday Ukrainian forces reportedly occupied a town within the neutral zone between the government controlled part and the rebel held Donetsk area. Today the Ukrainian navy sent a tug and two small gun boats… to pass through the Kerch Strait into the Sea of Azov.…

The Ukrainian provocation may well be aimed to sour the meeting between President Trump and Putin that is planned for November 30 during the G20 summit in Argentina.…

The three Ukrainian ships tried to pass Russian waters without informing Russian authorities and without taking on pilots. Since Russia buil[t] the $3.7 billion Kerch bridge which connects Crimea with Russia, U.S. commentators and Ukrainian politicians threatened to blow up the bridge:

“The Kerch Bridge is an enemy’s infrastructure. It connects the occupied territory with the mainland of the aggressor country, that is why it is an enemy’s infrastructure…. any normal country in a state of war strives for destroying enemy’s infrastructure.…”

The Russians are understandably careful with any traffic near to it.

Following yesterday’s incident the president of the Ukraine Pedro Poroshenko proposed to declare martial law. The parliament will have to decide on that. This is a very convenient move for Poroshenko as it will allow him to move the March 2019 general election date. Poroshenko trails in the polls with some 8% of the total vote.…

The usual anti-Russian subject in “western” political circles use the incident to demand more measures against Russia. Fronting the effort is the weapon industry lobbying group Atlantic Council….

  8. Too many ducks seem to line up to support something along these lines. It’s so easy to rationalize all arguements with limited info. My Russki says expat Ukes bicker for the truth, too. So even native tongue and semi-native “boots on the ground” can’t quite get it.

Poroshenko doesn’t seem any better than Lukashenko in Belarus. Yet the U.S. seems to back the Ukrainian strongman for greater strategic purposes? Is it about using anything to leverage against Putin? Is it important to keep that Ukrainian bee buzzing near that heart of Eurasia lest its utility is lost for something we are not yet aware of? The looming currency reset? The cocentric circles of greater and greater context lead, necessarily, to the machinations of world reserve currency. And while I know it is easy to roll one’s eyes and say here I go again, I think hindsight will show the dynamics of today were directly correlated to the day when the U.S., Russia, China, India, Italy, Germany, France, and the U.K. sit down for their monetary review. It is the elephant in the world room, and the furious, desperate, pace of gold aquisition by Russia, China and tertiary players prove it. Sure, it is a silent desperation if you’re not watching, but just imagine how it is that China has been the world’s #1 gold producer for years and yet not possess proven superior reserves in the ground. You can get gold out of anywhere. Even seawater. Problem is the concentrations are so low it isn’t worth it. Regardless, they choose to rape their land with arsenic and whatever else it takes to extricate precious metals. Why? Because they feel they can’t afford not to. Western gold has been flowing from west to east through Swiss refiners for years. This is the real transfer of world power, stifled yet steady. Western-standardized ingots https://sciencing.com/size-standard-gold-bar-7391744.html are melted down and dutifully recast by the Swiss into Chinese standard size measured in grams, I believe. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gold_bar
This is the bankers’ lense through which the world is viewed and always has been. It is apolitical, cold-hearted and brutally practical. It cares not a hoot for your flag or your anthem. In good times its piper is the reserve currency of the day. In tougher times–every 100 to 140 years or so–it is required that the system be, shall we say, refreshed. It becomes too cumbersome under so much dead-weight debt and simply must be freed up. There will be winners and losers and this is understood. The players see it coming. In this greatest of contexts current events will be retroactively filed. After all, if I may ask for devil’s advocacy, if Vladimir Putin is evil incarnate, why does Russia carry so relatively little sovereign debt and, despite western sanctions, continues to regularly purchase tons of gold for what must be absolutely fatuous, stupid reasons? Players must play, while prey like Dystopia just sit there like a fat little hen waiting to be royally plucked, her golden eggs left vaulted in her hard rock, awaiting the strongest grip to yank them out.

Who serves their people in this light?

    • Gold reserves are certainly part of it.
There are so many moving parts, synergies and multipliers, can’t boil it down or figure how it’ll shake out.

Like those horrid equations economists use – that always have a fuzzy set µ [mu].

    • Here’s another conspiracy theory post [sorry, no link]:

They don’t want an oil pipeline to the Med, they want a gas pipeline directly to Europe. By “they” I mean the globalists whose plans are thwarted by a Russia determined to maintain its sovereignty.

In order to hobble Russia’s gas sales to Eur – the goal – the globalists’ planned pipeline has to transverse solely Sunni-run territory. Therefore it can’t go across Iraq (majority Shia) or Iran, Russia’s semi-ally and a Shiite country. Syria is majority Sunni, but run by Alawites allied with Russia.

Syria continuing to be run by Alawi (or Shia) messes up the globalists’ plan of installing their gas pipeline and ruining Russia’s economy by undercutting the price of Russian gas.

You didn’t think the Cold War was actually over to these people, did you?

Yucki: What this person doesn’t understand is that SuShi sectarianism is a _yuge_ oversimplification of a much more textured landscape of sects and tribes.

Iran helped Bin Laden do 9/11, Qatar and Turkey are in cahoots with Iran. Money talks louder than sunni or shite. The “enemy of my enemy” trumps everything. But tardish alliances are meant to be broken, like truces and treaties.

      • “…much more textured landscape of sects and tribes…”

This rings more true to me than anything except of course the money. Otherwise how to explain such unlikely bedfellows, and all born to doublecross. The treachery is baked in, it seems, with the tards.
