  1. ‘Artists and Intellectuals’ Proclaim Continent-wide European Republic to Replace Nation-States (breitbart, Nov 10, 2018)
    https://www.breitbart.com/europe/2018/11/10/artists-intellectuals-proclaim-continent-wide-european-republic-replace-nation-states/

“Artists and intellectuals across Europe are calling for the founding of a continentwide republic to replace its many nation-states.

Activists planned to proclaim a ‘European Republic’ in dozens of cities at 4 p.m. (1500 GMT) Saturday, almost exactly 100 years after the end of World War I.

The event is being organized by a group calling itself the European Balcony Project. Its listed supporters include political scientists, philosophers and writers such as Austrian literature Nobel prize laureate Elfriede Jelinek.

A manifesto on the group’s website declares that “the sovereignty of states is hereby replaced by the sovereignty of citizens.””

  2. Dramatic 20 Percent Rise in Homicides in France (breitbart, Nov 10, 2018)
    https://www.breitbart.com/europe/2018/11/10/dramatic-20-percent-rise-in-homicides-in-france/

“Newly released statistics from the French Interior Ministry have revealed a massive 20 percent increase in French homicides compared to the period of 2014 to 2015.

The statistics for 2017-2018 reveal the 20 percent increase from 2014-2015, an unexpected increase for the French government which expected the murder rate following the 2015 and 2016 terror attacks in Paris and Nice to return to previous levels, French newspaper Libération reports.

While in the last few months homicides have decreased overall, statistician Cyril Rizk has claimed that there has been a clear rise in murder over the year compared to a general declining trend in the last fifteen years or so. He claimed that the current homicide rate, even when terrorism is excluded, is above the rate in the five years before 2015.

The surge in homicides has largely gone unnoticed in France, with Rizk explaining that “the fight against terrorism has become the number one security issue, relegating everyday security issues to the background.”

Rizk added that there has been a general trend of increased homicides in several western European countries saying, “the decline in the number of homicides was until 2015 a phenomenon of substance that characterized the countries of Western Europe. It can not be ruled out that in a context of mass casualties, the latent level of non-terrorist lethal violence has been influenced.”

“We particularly think of homicides committed by organised crime when settling scores. Their number is also rising sharply according to the figures of the police and the gendarmerie. It almost doubled between September 2015 and September 2018, reaching almost 100 victims in the last twelve months,” he added.

General violence in France has also seen a surge in recent years, particularly random acts of violence — with some estimating there to be at least 777 random acts of violence in the country per day.

These rising levels of disorder, particularly in the heavily migrant-populated suburbs of major French cities, have prompted interventions by several major political figures including former Secretary of State Philippe de Villiers, who said that his brother, General Pierre de Villiers, had warned French President Emmanuel Macron about the problem.

According to De Villiers, his brother told the French president: “If the suburbs give rise to further and even more violent uprisings, we will have no way to face them: we lack the means, we lack the men. This is the reality of the French political situation.””

  3. Mass Migration: Majority of Germans Feel Like ‘Stranger in Their Own Country’ (breitbart, Nov 10, 2018)
    https://www.breitbart.com/europe/2018/11/10/migration-germans-feel-like-stranger/

“A majority of Germans say the level of mass migration has left them feeling “like a stranger in their own country”, according to a new study.

Presented as part of this year’s Leipzig University research into “authoritarian” attitudes in the country, the figure showed a rise of 12 points since the Competence Center for Right-Wing Extremism and Democracy Research tested Germans on the same questions in 2014, with 56 per cent of Germans expressing the sentiment in 2018.

Other findings from the 328-page study, for which 2,416 Germans were interviewed between May and July this year, were that 44 per cent would support a ban on Muslim immigration — a rise of 7.5 per cent from 2014 — with agreement higher in the nation’s east (51 per cent) than west (42 per cent).

Citing figures which showed that 36 per cent of respondents believe Germany has been “dangerously watered down” by mass migration, researchers at Leipzig warned in a press release: “We are seeing high levels of approval for the attitude that has been considered an ‘entry-level drug’ into right-wing extremism.”

Germany’s international public broadcaster, Deutsche Welle, reported on the study with some alarm, claiming figures showing 60 per cent of respondents agreed that Romani Gypsies were more prone to commit crime — 5 per cent more than in 2014 — and that this signalled rising “hatred” in the German population.

While more than 90 per cent of Germans said they were a fan of democracy, the rise in ‘xenophobic’ attitudes poses a threat to the democratic system, according to the study’s lead author, Oliver Decker.

Asserting that the majority of the public has the concept of democracy all wrong, he said that “only about half of respondents are satisfied with democracy in practice”, pointing to the figure which showed 47 per cent of Germans disapproving of “open society” principles as evidence that, as the broadcaster phrased it, “democracy itself could be threatened by democratically elected politicians”.

“This discrepancy between values is a problem in representative democracy,” according to the Leipzig press release, which noted that the public feels powerless in terms of their ability to exert influence on Germany’s politics.

A study by think tank the Bertelsmann Foundation reported last month showed the so-called political centre in the country was in danger of hollowing out, with fewer voters identifying as centrist while populist attitudes such as the desire for more “sovereignty” rose on both the left and right.”

    https://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/yemeni-rebel-minister-flees-sanaa-defects-saudi-arabia-59104973

“The information minister of Yemen’s internationally recognized government says his counterpart in the rebel administration has fled the country and defected to neighboring Saudi Arabia.

Moammer al-Iryani said Saturday that his rebel counterpart, Abdul-Salam Ali Gaber, arrived in Saudi Arabia with his family after they fled Sanaa, the Yemeni capital, which has been under rebel control since 2014.

Gaber is the most senior member of the Houthi administration to defect since civil war broke out in 2014, dealing a blow to the rebels’ image as they battle an offensive by a Saudi-led coalition to retake the key Red Sea port city of Hodeida.

The coalition has been fighting the Houthis on the side of the government and its allies since 2015.”

An illegal Nigerian immigrant Social Worker sent me a Whatsapp message to call these White English people ‘Racist Bastards.’ She saw this as a desecration of the dead.

My perspective was this might be a two finger salute to the UK government for making their political capital out of those dead, by issuing Right to Remain passes to the surviving illegals for no success of their own, and paying compensation to bogus applicants.

To create a ‘White Guilt’ shrine. Whereas ‘White Trash’ Lee Rigby was just ignored. The tragic accident, and the Islamic Jihad. The Marxist Narrative simply continued.

OSF has funded a number of far-left organizations in Israel which seek to change the policy of Israel’s government.

According to NGO Monitor, among the top beneficiaries of OSF funding is Human Rights Watch, which has been criticized for targeting, and falsely libeling, the state of Israel. Another is J Street, which describes itself as “pro-Israel” but has been termed anti-Israelby others for, among other things, welcoming proponents of a boycott on Israel at its national conference and honoring IDF soldiers who refused orders.

WAS COMEY’S CLINTON EMAIL DECISION SELF-INTERESTED? Turns out former FBI Director James Comey talked about sensitive government business on his personal email routinely, according to new documents turned up by the Cause of Action Institute (COAI) under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA).

Here’s the key: “The FBI reviewed 526 pages, released only 156 pages, and withheld 370 pages in full. Notably, the FBI withheld seven emails under the FOIA’s law enforcement exemption, which applies only where the government can show that (1) a law enforcement proceeding is pending or prospective, and (2) release of information about that proceeding could reasonably be expected to cause some articulable harm,” COAI said.

Two-hundred elite soldiers who formed a covert neo-Nazi faction within Germany’s equivalent of the SAS planned to butcher immigrants to the country.

They conspired to unleash chaos on what they code-named Day X when they planned to kill Green Party leader Claudia Roth, foreign minister Heiko Mass and ex-president Joachim Gauck.

But authorities smashed the breakaway group of the Bundeswehr’s KSK unit before their death squads could carry out the assassinations.

    LAW & THE COURTS
    Obama’s Judges Continue Thwarting Trump
    By ANDREW C. MCCARTHY

President Obama at a White House press conference in 2016. (Carlos Barria/Reuters)
To the Lawyer Left, elections represent a policy choice only when Democrats win.
As I write on Friday, the restraining order hasn’t come down yet. But it’s just a matter of time. Some federal district judge, somewhere in the United States, will soon issue an injunction blocking enforcement of the Trump administration’s restrictions on asylum applications.

The restrictions come in the form of a rule promulgated jointly by the Departments of Justice and Homeland Security, and a proclamation issued by President Trump. In conjunction, they assert that an alien who wishes to apply for asylum in the United States must act lawfully: An alien who is physically present here and wishes to apply must be in the country legally; an alien outside the country who wishes to apply must present himself at a lawful port of entry — not attempt to smuggle his way in or force his way in as part of a horde (i.e., no invasions by caravan).

Of course, what used to be assumed is today deemed intolerable. It is no longer permitted to expect of non-Americans what is required of Americans — adherence to American law while on American soil.

Therefore, the fact that the administration’s action is entirely reasonable will not matter. No more will it matter that, contrary to numbing media repetition, the rule and proclamation derive from federal statutory law. Nor will it make any difference that, in part, the president is relying on the same sweeping congressional authorization based on which, just four months ago, the Supreme Court affirmed his authority to control the ingress of aliens based on his assessment of national-security needs.

  12. UN Member States: Migration Is a Human Right

    by Judith Bergman
    November 10, 2018 at 5:00 am

    https://www.gatestoneinstitute.org/13263/un-migration-human-right

The United Nations, in a non-binding agreement that almost all UN member states will sign at a ceremony in Morocco in early December, is making migration a human right.

The finalized text of the agreement, the Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration, although officially non-binding, “puts migration firmly on the global agenda. It will be a point of reference for years to come and induce real change on the ground…” according to Jürg Lauber, the representative of Switzerland to the UN — who led the work on the agreement together with the representative of Mexico.

One immediate irony, of course, is that few countries have entry requirements as restrictive as Switzerland’s. If one wishes to stay more than three months, not only is a “residence permit” required, but, “In an effort to limit immigration from non-EU/EFTA countries, Swiss authorities impose strict annual limitations on the number of residence and work permits granted to foreigners.”

These hard-to-come-by-residencies have, unsurprisingly, become a source of income as “[r]ich foreigners ‘buy’ Swiss residency.”

The suspension comes after a heated confrontation earlier between President Donald Trump and Acosta during a news conference.

Reacting to reports of Acosta’s credentials being revoked, a furious Hennessey tweeted: “This is a disgraceful and unacceptable attack on a free and independent press. 14. ICE: Mexican National Released By Sanctuary County Went On To Commit Triple Murder

A Mexican national charged with killing three people in Missouri in early November was released from a New Jersey county jail in 2017, despite being the subject an active immigration detention request, federal authorities said Friday.

Luis Perez, 23, allegedly killed two of his ex-roommates in Springfield, Missouri, on Nov. 1 and then, a day later, shot and killed a woman who had accompanied him to the first two murders.

Perez had been kicked out of his apartment by the roommates, Steven Marler, 38, and Aaron Hampton, 23, The Associated Press reported, citing a Springfield police probable cause affidavit. The charging documents further stated the Perez was a recent arrival to Missouri and that his immigration status was in question.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) confirmed Perez’s illegal status in a statement Friday and added that he had previously been released by authorities in Middlesex County, New Jersey, despite a detainer request.

    https://sputniknews.com/europe/201811101069696892-italy-rome-migration-decree-protests/

“Several thousand protesters took to the streets in Rome on Saturday to rally against what they claim is unfair anti-migrant policies promoted by Italy’s Interior Minister Matteo Salvini, AFP reported.

According to AFP, Italy’s Senate, backed by the Northern League party and the Five Star Movement, voted Wednesday to clear the way for a decree that facilitates a procedure for the expulsion of migrants, making it easier for local authorities to strip some of Italian citizenship.

Local media reported that rally organizers were joined by anti-racism activists who reportedly traveled to Rome from 50 cities in the southern European nation.

The lower house of the Italian parliament now has until the end of November to approve the controversial decree, which would end “humanitarian protection” residency permits, a form of lower-level asylum status in Italy. It also allows the accelerated expulsion of ‘dangerous’ asylum-seekers.

The Italian mayors’ association reportedly expressed concern that the new legislation would increase the number of unemployed migrants in small communities.
Italy is pursuing a hard line policy on migration, with Salvini claiming that the country cannot remain what he referred to as Europe’s “refugee camp” while neighboring countries close their borders and defend their frontiers with weapons. Italy is reportedly one of the most popular destinations among migrants, accounting for nearly 22,000 sea arrivals since the beginning of this year alone.

European countries since 2015 have been experiencing a large-scale migration crisis due in part to an influx of hundreds of thousands of people fleeing multiple humanitarian crises in the Middle East and North Africa. These migrants are trying to reach wealthy EU countries through various routes, including via Italy, Greece, Turkey and the Balkans.”

Federal Judge Says It’s Plausible That Andrew Cuomo Violated the First Amendment by Pressuring Banks and Insurers to Shun the NRA

Last night a federal judge said the National Rifle Association may proceed with a lawsuit that claims New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo is violating the First Amendment by pressuring banks and insurers to shun the NRA and “similar gun promotion organizations.” U.S. District Judge Thomas McAvoy questioned Cuomo’s claim that his messages about the wisdom and propriety of providing financial services to the NRA amount to nothing but legitimate regulatory oversight and protected government speech.

As I explained in my column today, and as McAvoy describes in his decision, there is strong evidence that Cuomo and Maria Vullo, superintendent of the New York State Department of Financial Services (DFS), are in fact threatening banks and insurers that dare to do business with organizations that oppose the governor’s gun control agenda.

In a press release last April, Cuomo said he was “directing the Department of Financial Services to urge insurers and bankers statewide to determine whether any relationship they may have with the NRA or similar organizations sends the wrong message to their clients and their communities.” Vullo was more explicit, saying “DFS urges all insurance companies and banks doing business in New York to join the companies that have already discontinued their arrangements with the NRA.”

  20. Soros Donor Network-Linked Candidates Strike Out During Midterms
Scott Wallace and Stacey Abrams—both tied to the Democracy Alliance—lose

The two candidates who ran in the midterm elections and are tied to a secretive donor club cofounded by liberal billionaire George Soros were both defeated.

Scott Wallace, who challenged Republican incumbent Brian Fitzpatrick in Pennsylvania’s First Congressional District, is a partner in the Democracy Alliance, the largest left-wing group of donors who have combined to pour more than $500 million into the coffers of progressive organizations since 2005.

Wallace inherited a fortune after his grandfather’s company was sold for $10 billion. Wallace runs the Wallace Global Fund, his family’s foundation, that reports $150 million in assets and has given millions to radical left-wing groups throughout the years—all of which haunted Wallace on the campaign trail.

The Democracy Alliance strives to keep its membership rolls hidden but the Free Beacon discovered a confidential memorandum that was sent to Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi in 2013 that lists Wallace as a partner in the alliance.

“The data, which assesses crime rates, terrorism threats, risk of natural disasters, and health issues in 20 countries, revealed Morocco as a destination with less crime and terrorism compared to some European countries, and the US.

Morocco is considered safer than Jordan, France, and Italy.

The study’s crime rates are based on statistics by the World Economic Fund, likelihood of major natural disasters on the World Risk Report, health risks on the NHS Fit for Travel website, and terrorism risk levels on the Foreign and Commonwealth Office’s (FCO) assessment.

In terms of terrorism worldwide, “Terrorism can’t be ruled out anywhere,” the UK’s Foreign and Commonwealth Office wrote. However, the report states that terrorism is “very likely in Australia, Jordan, France, the US, India, Thailand and Turkey,” more so than in Morocco and other countries.

Health risks are notable in travel destinations such as Singapore and Australia affected by dengue fever, and areas of India, South Africa, and Thailand affected by malaria, according to the report.

Morocco ranks among the world’s least dangerous countries, according to the US Department of State’s January report.

The State Department advised Americans visiting Morocco to “exercise normal precautions” in the North African country. The department advises US travelers to be extra cautious in Algeria or avoid it because of high terrorist threats.

Morocco received 8.7 million tourists from January to August 2018, according to the latest statistics by the Ministry of Tourism.

Tourist arrivals from Italy made the most considerable increase between the first eight months of 2017 and 2018, rising 14 percent. German tourist numbers increased 10 percent, French 7 percent, and Dutch 6 percent.”

  27. Malmö sees four shooting incidents in 24 hours (thelocal, Nov 9, 2018)

“Malmö’s tit-for-tat gang war looks to have flared into life again with four shootings in less than 24 hours and one young man left seriously wounded.

The violence broke out at shortly before 2am on Thursday night when a 20-year-old man was shot in the back at the Mobilia shopping centre near the town centre. He is now being treated in hospital for serious but not life-threatening injuries.

The next day shots were fired at apartments in the districts of Fosie, Ärtholmen and Rosengård, none of which left anyone injured.

“It’s too early to say if they are connected, because we are working so hard this week, because we have had the explosions, and now we have had the shootings,” said Ewa-Gun Westford, spokesman for the police in southern Sweden, told The Local.

The shootings came less than a week after a building in Gullvik, a leafy suburb of detached houses, was riddled with bullets last Sunday. Earlier last week, explosive devices went off outside two driving schools in the city.

“We don’t think there is any connections to the shootings last weekend, we can’t see anything, but it is rather early in the investigations,” Westford said.

According to the latest official police statistics, published in July 16, the number of recorded shots fired in Malmö has declined this year, with 18 in the first seven months of the year, compared to 43 and 30 over the same period in 2017 and 2016 respectively.

But judged by the Malmö police’s press releases, the rate of shootings has since picked up, with seven this month, two in October and five in September.

The city in October launched a new ‘Sluta Skjut’, or ‘Stop Shooting’, programme, which builds on the Group Violence Intervention (GVI) strategy used with good results in many US cities.

Eleven young men have been killed in shootings in Malmö so far this year, and 26 since 2016.”

  28. German refugee agency head wants hard line on deportations (DW, Nov 10, 2018)

“The new president of Germany’s BAMF refugee agency says authorities must apply rules on deportation strictly. His predecessor was sacked over allegedly lax asylum decisions.

German authorities should apply asylum law consistently and strictly even in difficult individual cases, the new head of Germany’s refugee agency said in an interview published on Saturday.

Hans-Eckhard Sommer said he wanted to take a tough line on deportations, telling news magazine Der Spiegel that law and order should be enforced in this area as is already done in the case of violations of taxation laws.

When asked if he saw himself as a hard-liner, Sommer, who used to work in the Interior Ministry in the southern state of Bavaria, said he did consider himself as one “if advocating for the consistent application of existing law is enough to give you such a title.”

While in Bavaria, Sommer was known as a “tough dog” in government circles.

Sommer, 57, took over as president of the German Office for Migration and Refugees (BAMF) in June after his predecessor, Jutta Cordt, was dismissed from the position by Interior Minister Horst Seehofer over questionable asylum decisions at the agency’s Bremen branch.

“What happened in Bremen was bad,” Sommer said, adding that auditors had ” found errors to a serious extent among a few employees, where consciously manipulative behavior was at play.”

    ‘Counterproductive’ resistance

Sommer also defended the establishment of controversial holding and processing centers for asylum-seekers, known under the acronym of “Anker” in German, which means “anchor” in English.

The centers are intended to accommodate asylum-seekers with few chances of having their applications accepted until they are deported.

Sommer criticized opposition to the centers from various German states, saying that many states wanted to accommodate even those who had no prospect of remaining in towns and municipalities.

“I consider that to be counterproductive,” Sommer said.

    Blown-up scandal

Sommer’s severe assessment of the gravity of errors committed in Bremen is somewhat at odds with revelations contained in reports by various media organizations.

The affair in Bremen was held up as a major scandal by many of those in Germany opposed to Chancellor Angela Merkel’s liberal refugee policies.”
