  1. Report Claims Iran Busted CIA’s Secret Communication System Using Google Search (sputniknews, Nov 3, 2018)
    https://sputniknews.com/world/201811031069474391-iran-busted-cia-network-report-google/

“A new exposé by Yahoo News about one of the biggest intelligence failures in history is based on conversations with eleven former US intelligence and government officials familiar with the case, who spoke on condition of anonymity.

Yahoo News has reported, citing several unnamed intelligence and government sources that the internet-based communications system used by the CIA to communicate with its operatives around the world was exposed by Iranians using Google search.

However, according to the same report, the vulnerabilities of the network had been detected years before the aforementioned developments.

In 2008, John Reidy, a defense contractor, whose job was to identify, contact and manage human sources for the CIA in Iran, reportedly sounded the alarm about a “massive intelligence failure” related to “communications” with sources.

The CIA could have prevented the fiasco had it heeded his warning, but a year after the “nightmare scenario” he had mentioned came true, he was sacked because of what his superiors said were conflicts of interest, while he believed the genuine reason behind his dismissal was retaliation.

“This is one of the most catastrophic failures since Sept. 11. And the CIA punished the person who brought the problem to light,” Irvin McCullough, a national security analyst with the nonprofit Government Accountability project, told Yahoo News.

The exposé claims that the Iranians managed to overcome the US intelligence system, which wasn’t designed to withstand elaborate counterintelligence efforts, without any trouble.

“It was never meant to be used long term for people to talk to sources. The issue was that it was working well for too long, with too many people. But it was an elementary system,” an unnamed former official told Yahoo.

In fact, the report claims that the communication network was previously compromised in China, so the risks posed by the system seemed to have been overlooked because it was easy to use, the insiders alleged.

By 2010, Tehran had made progress in exposing and identifying CIA agents, and a year later, the country’s authorities announced they had dismantled a CIA spy network, seven ex-intelligence officers added.

The authors of the report then wrote that in 2011 an Iranian TV broadcast suggested that US agents had developed websites for fake companies to recruit agents in Iran by promising them lots of perks, including jobs, visas and education abroad, but in fact they ended up meeting with CIA officers, who sought to hire them as operatives.

Another former official told the outlet that there was “shock and awe” at the CIA about the simplicity of Iran’s approach.

Even though it remains unclear how exactly Iranians infiltrated the network, two former US intelligence officers told Yahoo that they had cultivated a double agent who ultimately led them to the covert CIA communications system.

The Iranians, the report claims, then used Google to identify the website the CIA was using to keep in touch with its agents, and made the most of its search engine’s functions to sift out and isolate sites with similar digital signifiers.
Then Iranian intelligence managed to trace those who were visiting these websites and, eventually, uncover the CIA network, the report says.

US intelligence is unsure whether Iran and China cooperated with each other or managed to unravel the networks separately, but the systems used in both countries were similar, one official said.

Yahoo wrote that the CIA refused to comment on the matter, while the Iranian Mission to the UN did not reply to requests for information.”

  2. ‘PURGE’ NIGHT RIOTS LEAD TO OVER 100 ARRESTS IN FRANCE
More than 100 young people were arrested in the Paris suburbs on Halloween — after messages circulated around social media calling for a “purge” of the police force, according to new reports.

Gangs of masked teens stormed through the city center of Lyon, harassing cops and passersby, smashing store windows and setting trash bins on fire.

In one case, in the deprived Seine-Saint-Denis area north of Paris, youths robbing a grocery store attacked police with acid, according to Denis Jacob of the police union Alternative Police. A sportswear store was also looted.

Authorities needed to use tear gas to control the rioters, reports said.

The chaos was incited by a Snapchat message shared by a 19-year-old man from Grenoble who encouraged others to gang up in neighborhood groups, go out on the street and fight, France 24 English reported.

    • It sounds like France is about to melt down into warring districts with no central government. For all practical purposes France is ungovernable and on the edge of collaose.

  4. UN, Mastercard Supplying Migrants With Prepaid Bank Cards

Migrants are receiving prepaid bank cards backed by the United Nations Refugee Agency (UNHCR), according to reports.

Clues to answering questions about how some migrants sustain themselves during lengthy journeys from their homelands to their destinations have been unearthed by Slovenian outlet Nova24.

“Social network users have warned us that illegal immigrants are financing their lifestyle while waiting in Bosnia and Herzegovina to continue their journey towards Western Europe, with the help of bank cards of the Mastercard brand bearing logos of the European Union and United Nations Refugee Agency,” Nova24 reports.

Nova24 cites an anonymous Croatian police officer who recently divulged that some migrants carry Mastercards that bear no names.

“The migrants we catch and return back in a few days or weeks are again trying to break into Croatia,” the officer said. “Some of them are really poor, but many are well-equipped: they have new footwear, new clothes, sophisticated smartphones, weapons, and some have also been found with Mastercard bank cards without name, they are just numbers. They withdraw money at ATMs, but we do not know who pays them.”

Mastercard announced in 2016 that they were issuing prepaid debit cards to “provide refugees with mobility, flexibility and dignity.”

Additionally, Mastercard issued a press release in 2017 publicizing the launch of a partnership program with George Soros called “Humanity Ventures,” which aimed to “catalyze and accelerate economic and social development for vulnerable communities around the world, especially refugees and migrants.”

“George Soros announced that he is earmarking up to $500 million for private investments that will improve capacity to address the challenges that migrants, including refugees, and their host communities face around the world. Humanity Ventures would be part of that initiative,” Mastercard revealed in the release.

“Mastercard delivers innovative payments, data, and identity solutions which empower the underserved all over the world. These tools improve the lives of refugees and migrants by forging better economic and social ties with local populations.”

TV director Ninoslav Vucetic recently shared an image of a Mastercard bearing the logos of the EU and UNHCR in a tweet directed at a Montenegran government official.

    https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DqrqvMaWwAcLFzV.jpg

“Bank cards are also evidence of how the EU is destroying European culture?” Vucetic wrote. “Inviting them with money to cause violence? Who gives migrants such a bank card in order to access cash, without the first and last names?”

The image shared by Vucetic also appears in various reports from the UNHCR detailing how they are providing aid to migrants in Greece.

UN, EU and Soros provide migrants with prepaid debit cards to fund their trip to and through Europe

How illegal migrants cope financially during their long journeys to and through Europe has been revealed by the Slovenian site Nova24.

According to the site, UNHCR and the EU, in cooperation with MasterCard and Soros, generously hand out prepaid debit cards to the migrants.

The cards are equipped with both EU and UNHCR logos. No identity documents are required to obtain or use the cards – instead of the name of the cardholder, “UNHCR” and a number is printed on the card.

According to Nova24, the information comes from a source within the Croatian police, which states that the migrants are well-equipped with newly purchased, high-quality boots, hiking clothes, smartphones and even weapons.

During the stopover in the Eastern European countries, they withdraw cash from ATMs to stock up on supplies.

MasterCard announced in 2016 that they issued prepaid debit cards to “give refugees mobility, flexibility and dignity”.

In a press release last year, MasterCard also announced a cooperation with George Soros with the aim to “catalyse and accelerate economic and social development for vulnerable groups in the world, especially refugees and migrants”.

The press release further stated that George Soros had earmarked up to $500 million for private investment that will increase capacity to meet the challenges faced by migrants, including refugees, and their host communities across the world.

  5. 47% of Americans ‘feel like a stranger in their own country’

The sense that the nation’s culture and way of life have dramatically changed is reflected in a PRRI “American Values” survey that gauged both political opinions and “cultural alienation.”

It found that 47 percent of Americans now say that things have changed so much, they “feel like a stranger in their own country.” A slim majority (51 percent) disagree.

Nearly six in 10 Republicans say that things have changed so much they feel alienated; 42 percent of Democrats agree.

Was there a better era to live in? Americans are divided on whether the country’s culture and way of life has changed for the better or worse since the 1950s. Fifty percent say such change is for the better, while 47 percent say culture has gotten worse according to the survey survey.

“There are significant partisan divides on this question, with 60 percent of Democrats and just 34 percent of Republicans believing American culture and way of life have improved since the 1950s; by contrast, 64 percent of Republicans say things have mostly changed for the worse,” the poll analysis said.

  7. Beware Turkey’s Dangerous New Refugee Role

Turkey, thanks to the United Nations, will now officially be in charge of deciding not only who is a refugee but also where he or she will be placed or transferred. Turkish state authorities have repeatedly threatened to flood Europe with refugees, such as President Recep Tayyip Erdo?an’s message to Europe in 2016:

“You cried out when 50,000 refugees were at the Kapikule border. You started asking what you would do if Turkey would open the gates. Look at me — if you go further, those border gates will be open. You should know that.”

Given the Turkish threats, this new official position for Turkey should be of concern.

The pro-government Turkish newspaper Daily Sabah recently reported:

  8. Within the span of a year, Venezuela illegally issued at least 10,000 passports and other documents to citizens of Syria, Iran and other Middle Eastern countries in a scheme spearheaded by current Vice President Tareck El Aissami, according to a former high-ranking immigration official.

Colonel Vladimir Medrano Rengifo, former director of Venezuela’s Office of Identification and Migration, said that during his 17 months in the post, most passports and visas were granted in the Venezuelan Consulate in Damascus, Syria’s capital.

“Today we don’t know where these people are, nor what they are doing,” said Medrano, who was fired by El Aisaami and now lives in South Florida. “They could be anywhere in the world, traveling with Venezuelan documentation.”

  10. Bernie Calls Trump ‘Most Racist President In History.’ He Forgot About These 3 Guys.
    Not even close.

At a campaign rally on Tuesday, socialist Senator Bernie Sanders called President Trump “the most racist, sexist, homophobic, bigoted president in history.” Racial minorities seem not to have gotten the memo, as support for Trump among black and Hispanic voters has surged in recent months and the Jewish State names a train station after Trump in Jerusalem. Likewise Trump’s alleged sexism must come as a surprise to the historically large number of women he has appointed to senior administration roles, as well as to the gay voters who watched him wave a rainbow flag on stage before acknowledging the “our LGBTQ community” at his party’s national convention — a first for a Republican presidential nominee.

“Men who have been living here for a long time need to talk clearly about sexuality and equal rights in Germany to men who have just arrived — if necessary in their native language,” said Annette Widmann-Mauz in the wake of the “despicable” crime in Freiburg.

“All asylum-seekers need to get orientation courses about living together in Germany as soon as they arrive to their first accommodation centre, and that also includes that there is zero tolerance for sexual abuse and other violent acts,” she added.

Similar initiatives have been attempted in Germany before, with some public swimming pools having to put up illustrated signs showing migrants that molesting women is not allowed after a number of attacks on women and children of both sexes…”

  17. Ayatollah Khamenei: US Power on the Wane in All Arenas (tasnimnews, Nov 3, 2018)
    https://www.tasnimnews.com/en/news/2018/11/03/1867844/ayatollah-khamenei-us-power-on-the-wane-in-all-arenas

“Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei highlighted the diminishing influence of the US government in all areas of power, saying Washington has even discredited “liberal democracy” which is known as the basis of Western civilization.

In an address to a gathering of Iranian students in Tehran on Saturday, Ayatollah Khamenei said a general review of international developments reveals that the US government’s power and influence in the entire world are at a low ebb and “the contemporary US is several times weaker than the US four decades ago.”

“Not only is the US spiritual might and soft power diminishing now, but the current peculiar US president’s measures have also discredited ‘liberal democracy’ that forms the basis of Western civilization,” Ayatollah Khamenei stated.

There is a consensus among major international experts that the US power is dwindling in all areas, the Leader underscored, adding that, conversely, the Iranian nation is moving forward and faces a bright future.

Many international politicians and experts believe that the US soft power is dying down, because the US ability to force its views upon other countries is now in the weakest status, Ayatollah Khamenei said.

During the current US president’s term, world nations and even the governments in Europe, China, Russia, India, Africa, and Latin America have been overtly opposing the US government’s decisions, the Leader added.

Ayatollah Khamenei then branded the US government as the loser of confrontation with the Islamic Republic over the past 40 years, saying the fact in confrontation between the US and Iran is that “the victorious side in this challenge has been the Islamic Republic of Iran and the loser has been the US.”

Despite all its attempts to re-conquer Iran over the past four decades, the US has not achieved any of its objectives, the Leader stressed, adding, “Today, the only country in whose decisions the US does not have any role is the Islamic Republic of Iran, and this means the US defeat.”

Enumerating the cases of US hostile actions against the Iranian nation, Ayatollah Khamenei said Washington’s economic war against Tehran has always been in place over the past four decades and the notion of sanctions is not anything new.

The purpose of the US economic war and sanctions against Iran over the past 40 years has been to cripple and stall the Islamic Republic, the Leader said, adding that what has happened in reality has been against the US will, as Iran has been moving towards self-sufficiency and domestic production has accelerated in the country.

Ayatollah Khamenei finally stressed that the US “hard power” in the military and economic spheres are also at a low ebb, saying the US government’s $800 billion budget deficit is a clear sign of its economic decline.”

  22. TURKEY RECALLS UGANDA ENVOY OVER ANCIENT GREEK COSTUME ‘SCANDAL’

The Twitter feed of Uganda’s parliament posted pictures of ambassador Sedef Yavuzalp in a robe and an unnamed male Turkish official in what appeared to be a toga

ANKARA – The Turkish foreign ministry on Saturday recalled its ambassador to Uganda after she was photographed at a reception for Turkey’s annual Republic Day wearing a dress reportedly inspired by ancient Greece.

Ambassador Sedef Yavuzalp hosted the reception in Kampala for the annual 29 October holiday marking the founding of the modern Turkish Republic in 1923 by Mustafa Kemal Ataturk.

The Twitter feed of Uganda’s parliament, whose speaker Rebecca Kadaga was present at the event, posted pictures of Yavuzalp in a robe and an unnamed male Turkish official in what appeared to be a toga.

The nationalist Sozcu daily on Saturday splashed the pictures on its front page, saying that Yavuzalp had dressed as Helen of Troy – whose beauty according to Homer sparked the Trojan War – and the assistant as the Greek god Zeus complete with an olive wreath on his head.

“A great scandal on Republic Day – the ambassador was Helen and her assistant Zeus,” it said.

Such associations go down badly with Turkish nationalists who stringently emphasise the Turkishness of the modern state despite the long history of Greek and Roman civilisation on its territory.

In a statement, the foreign ministry said that “urgent investigations were launched after the publications of pictures on social media and press of our ambassador at the reception.”

“In this framework, the ambassador has been recalled,” it added, without giving further details.

Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu also tweeted that the ambassador had been called back.

Sozcu said that Yavuzalp is a career diplomat who has been posted in Kampala for the last five years. Some reports said that the diplomat had been trying to promote the 2018 “Year of Troy”, whose remains lay outside the city of Canakkale in western Turkey.

Some users initially claimed that the outfits were homage to the Roman Empire, while others said it was from Greek mythology.

Yavuzalp’s dress was actually a reference to Helen of Troy, it was later confirmed.
