“The government of Central African Republic says three Chinese nationals have been killed and three others wounded in an attack by community members angry about the disappearance of their youth leader.

Government spokesman Ange Maxime Kazagui said Friday the act of banditry by residents will not go unpunished. He said the Chinese nationals were killed by crowds on Thursday while waiting at the gendarmerie as part of an investigation into the disappearance.

The youth leader’s brother, Mathurin Dimbele-Nakoe, described the Chinese as employees of a mining company in Sosso-Nakombo and said they had asked for accompaniment to a mining site on the river. Their boat tipped and the youth leader has not been found.

The Chinese Embassy in Bangui did not respond to a request for comment.”

  2. Mining venture signs exploration deal in Afghanistan (abcnews, Oct 5, 2018)
    https://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/mining-venture-signs-exploration-deal-afghanistan-58311674

“A company founded by a London-based banker says it has secured approval to develop gold and copper mining sites in northern Afghanistan.

Centar Ltd. says it will start exploration next year and that the enterprise will be among the largest employers in the troubled country within a year.

Afghanistan’s minister of finance and the acting minister of mines and petroleum were expected to sign contracts Friday with Centar founder Ian Hannam at the embassy in Washington.

Afghanistan is believed to have large reserves of valuable minerals and metals. But war and corruption have prevented the development of a modern mining industry.

Anti-corruption organization Global Witness says civil society groups have raised “serious” concerns about this project including that a former government minister is a partner in the venture.”

  3. France’s Fight Against Islamic Radicalization: The Writing Is Still on the Wall

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: The lack of integration into France of many Muslims over a long period, combined with severe socioeconomic problems, has produced bitterness, alienation, and fertile ground for radical imams who use the French separation between state and religion (Laïcité) to promote uncontrolled Islamist radicalization. The French leadership has failed to cope with these problems as it is not politically correct to intervene in religious matters. The ISIS terrorist attacks, perpetrated by radicalized French Muslims, brought the issues to the center of the public discourse. President Macron embraced many of his predecessor’s counterterrorism measures and moved further with ambitious de-radicalization plans designed to address the core problems, including mounting suburban crime. However, increasing Muslim radicalization, as well as a growing left-right polarization regarding the ways to tackle the problem, still present serious challenges to the French republican order.

  4. Ocasio-Cortez Hints Fox News Should Be Punished For Reporting On Her

Democratic socialist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez hinted on Wednesday that Fox News should be punished for the network’s reporting on her, claiming that they are “obsessed.”

Ocasio-Cortez’s remarks came after Fox News published an article based on a Tuesday report from The Daily Wire that showed the 28-year-old suggesting that she would be “inaugurated” into office if she won her congressional race in November and that she looked forward to signing bills into law.

“In today’s edition of ‘Fox News is Obsessed with Me,’ they splice a video of a joke at an open event, cut out my comment saying this ISN’T how it is, and present as ‘controversy,'” Ocasio-Cortez tweeted. “Isn’t this slanted behavior exactly what got Fox News censured in the U.K.?”

  5. INDIA – AYODHYA dispute -wikipedia

The Ayodhya dispute is a political, historical and socio-religious debate in India, centred on a plot of land in the city of Ayodhya, located in Faizabad district, Uttar Pradesh.

The main issues revolve around access to a site traditionally regarded among Hindus to be the birthplace of the Hindu deity Rama, the history and location of the Babri Mosque at the site, and whether a previous Hindu temple was demolished or modified to create the mosque.

[…]The excavations by the Archaeological Survey of India were heavily used as evidence by the court that the predating structure was a massive Hindu religious building.

Babri Masjid blot to India, crime to call it mosque: Shia Waqf Board chief Waseem Rizvi

The board chief pointed out that on the basis of this the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) had reached the decision that a temple was buried underneath the Babri Masjid.

In a controversial statement, Uttar Pradesh Shia Waqf Board chief Waseem Rizvi has targetted Babri Masjid and accused it of being a blot to the country. He said that it is a crime to call “that blot as a mosque”.

Rizvi said that during the excavation, a square made of bricks was found at the bottom of the 50 pillars of the temple in Ayodhya. A total of 265 old remnants of the temple were found and the digging under the mosque was done by 137 workers, of which 52 were Muslims, he added.

The board chief pointed out that on the basis of this the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) had reached the decision that a temple was buried underneath the Babri Masjid.

It is to be believed that these temples have been demolished and Babri Masjid has been built on the debris, he added. Rizvi highlighted that this has also been mentioned in the book, “I am Indian”, by KK Mohammed.

Rizvi said that there should be an agreement and the right to the Hindus to build a Ram temple should be returned. The Muslims should build a new mosque in Lucknow, uncontroversial and with just money.

He concluded that at the backdrop of such a scenario, calling Babri a masjid will be unjust and against the principles of Islam. “There is still time the ‘mullas’ of Babri should accept their mistakes and accept the preachings of Prophet Mohammed,” he said.

Earlier this year, he had made similar remarks. “There was never a Masjid on that site in Ayodhya and there can never be a Masjid there. It is the birthplace of Lord Ram and only a Ram Temple will be built. Sympathizers of Babar are destined to lose,” news agency ANI had quoted him as saying.

Ayodhya dispute: Hindu seers, Waqf board to hold strategy meets today

[…]VHP working president Alok Kumar told ET that the organisation was “not open to the idea of sharing Ram Janmabhoomi with Muslims”.

But the Muslims are “free to build a mosque away from the River Saryu” or in Lucknow, he said, adding: “There should be distance between the mosque and the temple. That will be good for everyone and will not lead to future problems.”

Ayodhya Babri Masjid destruction – rare archival footage

The destruction of the 16th-century mosque in the holy town of Ayodhya in the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh was a seminal event in the relationship between Muslims and Hindus in India, who say the site where the mosque stood is the birthplace of Lord Ram.

In the communal violence that ensued after the mosque was razed to the ground, hundreds died, and the secular fabric of modern India was thrown into jeopardy.

  6. Russian official, linked to lawyer Veselnitskaya and 2006 poisoning probe in UK, killed in helicopter crash

[Ed. – This guy might have been a potato too hot for the oven mitt. Seems to have been there for a lot of skulduggery.]

A Russian official accused of directing the foreign operations of Natalia Veselnitskaya, the lawyer who met senior Trump campaign officials in 2016, has plummeted to his death in a helicopter crash.

Russian Deputy Attorney General Saak Albertovich Karapetyan was exposed in a Swiss court this year for a plot to enlist another nation’s law-enforcement official as a double-agent for the Kremlin.

Media reports in Russia say he died Wednesday night when his helicopter crashed into a forest during an unauthorized flight in the Kostroma region, northeast of Moscow. …

Karapetyan has been involved in efforts to foil international investigations for more than a decade. The Daily Beast reported that he was present for a meeting in Moscow where British detectives claim they were poisoned during efforts to track down the killers of Alexander Litvinenko, who died after a dose of radioactive poison in London in 2006.

    Fox News October 4, 2018

[Ed. – Aside from all else, how reassuring to know that he was able to access the health information of the senators’ children. It turns out he has worked for a number of Democratic senators as well as for Sheila Jackson Lee. Something really off about this guy. Too much whiff of Awan II trailing after the situation.]

A Democratic congressional aide accused of publishing the private information of at least three Republican lawmakers allegedly threatened to leak senators’ children’s health information if a witness told anyone about his activities.

Jackson Cosko, who recently worked for Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee, D-Texas, was arrested for allegedly posting the personal information (or “doxxing”) of a number of senators including Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., Mike Lee, R-Utah, and Orrin Hatch, R-Utah on Wikipedia — with information such as their home addresses and phone numbers. Graham, Lee and Hatch’s information was published on Thursday.

According to a sworn statement by Capitol Police Captain Jason Bell, a witness Tuesday saw Cosko at a computer in a senator’s office, where he used to work, a day after two other unnamed senators’ information had been put on Wikipedia. Cosko worked for other Democratic senators including Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., Sen. Maggie Hassan, D-N.H., and former Sen. Barbara Boxer, D-Calif.

  8. When Did the Democratic Party Become Antifa?

Apparently when they tasted the appeal of Bolshevism.

“Rudeness is the weak man’s imitation of strength,” reflected longshoreman philosopher Eric Hoffer. The events of the last month affirm this wisdom.

A Democratic Party lacking the White House, majorities in the House of Representatives and Senate, and the Supreme Court imitated strength in practicing rudeness. Now, hours before the confirmation vote that they sought to postpone, the Democrats’ boisterousness appears, belatedly at least, as camouflage for weakness. This weakness, which may seem anything but when in earshot of protesters, appears most apparent in the U.S. Senate. Democrats lack the raw numbers to win.

Unable to rely on an institutional or the democratic apparatus to derail Brett Kavanaugh’s nomination to the U.S. Supreme Court, they embraced a by-any-means-necessary strategy.

Jackson A. Cosko, 27, a “fellow” paid by an outside group to work for Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee and a recent employee of Senator Maggie Hassan, appeared in federal court on Thursday on charges related to the doxxing — the unauthorized publication of personal details for the purpose of harassment — of several senators, including Orrin Hatch, Mike Lee, and Lindsey Graham. Cosko allegedly posted personal telephone numbers and home addresses using a Senate computer.

  9. Saudi Crown Prince: Kingdom Needs Some 2,000 Years to Maybe Face Some Dangers (aawsat, Oct 5, 2018)
    https://aawsat.com/english/home/article/1417416/saudi-crown-prince-kingdom-needs-some-2000-years-maybe-face-some-dangers

“Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, underlined the security of Saudi Arabia, while dismissing recent comments made by US President Donald Trump against the Kingdom.

In a lengthy interview with Bloomberg published on Friday, Prince Mohammed said: “Saudi Arabia was there before the United States. It’s there since 1744, I believe more than 30 years before the United States. And I believe, and I’m sorry if anyone misunderstands that, but I believe President Obama, in his eight years, he worked against many of our agenda – not in Saudi Arabia, but also in the Middle East.

“And even though the US worked against our agenda we were able to protect our interests. And the end result is that we succeeded, and the United States under the leadership of President Obama failed, for example in Egypt.

“So Saudi Arabia needs something like around 2,000 years to maybe face some dangers. So I believe this is not accurate.”

On Trump’s comments, Prince Mohammed remarked: “You have to accept that any friend will say good things and bad things. So, you cannot have 100 percent friends saying good things about you, even in your family. You will have some misunderstandings. So, we put that in that category.”

Addressing Saudi Arabia’s rift with Canada, he noted that Ottawa “gave an order to Saudi Arabia on an internal issue. It’s not an opinion of Canada about Saudi Arabia as much as they are giving an order to a different country.”

On the Kingdom’s security and Trump’s opinion that it should pay for it, Prince Mohammed said: “We will pay nothing for our security. We believe that all the armaments we have from the US are paid for, it’s not free armament.

“Ever since the relationship started between Saudi Arabia and the US, we’ve bought everything with money. Before two years ago, we had a strategy to shift most of our armament to other countries, but when Trump became president, we’ve changed our armament strategy again for the next 10 years to put more than 60 percent with the US.

“That’s why we’ve created the $400 billion in opportunities, armaments and investment opportunities, and other trade opportunities. So, this is a good achievement for Trump, for Saudi Arabia. Also included in these agreements are that part of these armaments will be manufactured in Saudi Arabia, so it will create jobs in America and Saudi Arabia, good trade, good benefits for both countries and also good economic growth. Plus, it will help our security.”

On his relations with Trump, Prince Mohammed said: “I love working with him. We have achieved a lot in the Middle East, especially against extremism, extremist ideologies, terrorism and ISIS disappeared in a very short time in Iraq and Syria, and a lot of extremist narratives have been demolished in the past two years, so this is a strong initiative.”

“We worked together also, together with more than 50 countries, to agree on one goal in the Middle East and most of those countries are going through with that strategy. Now we are pushing back against extremists and terrorists and Iran’s negative moves in the Middle East in a good way. We have huge investments between both countries. We have good improvement in our trade – a lot of achievements, so this is really great.”

Commenting on Trump’s complaint over oil prices, Prince Mohammed said: “We never in the history of Saudi Arabia decided that this is the right or wrong oil price. The oil price depends on trade – consumer and supplier – and they decide the oil price based on trade and supply and demand. What we are committed in Saudi Arabia is to make sure there is no shortage of supply.”

“So, we work with our allies in OPEC and also non-OPEC countries to be sure that we have a sustainable supply of oil and there is no shortage and that there is good demand, that it will not create problems for the consumers and their plans and development.

“The request that the US made to Saudi Arabia and other OPEC countries is to be sure that if there is any loss of supply from Iran, that we will supply that. And that happened. Because recently, Iran reduced their exports by 700,000 barrels a day, if I’m not mistaken. And Saudi Arabia and OPEC and non-OPEC countries, they’ve produced 1.5 million barrels a day. So, we export as much as two barrels for any barrel that disappeared from Iran recently. So, we did our job and more.

“We believe the higher price that we have in the last month, it’s not because of Iran. It’s mostly because of things happening in Canada, and Mexico, Libya, Venezuela and other countries that moved the price a little bit higher. But Iran, definitely no.

“We have spare capacity of 1.3 million without any investment. So, in Saudi Arabia we have 1.3 million to go if the market needs that. And with other OPEC countries and non-OPEC countries we believe we have more than that, a little bit more than that. And of course, there is opportunity for investment in the next three to five years.”

Asked about reactivating production in the neutral zone with Kuwait, Prince Mohammed replied: “Actually the 1.3 million is capacity that we have today, without that opportunity in Kuwait. So, we believe that we are almost close to having something with Kuwait. There are only small issues that have been stuck there for the last 50 years. The Kuwaiti side, they want to fix it today, before we continue to produce in that area.

“It’s part of the sovereignty issues that are stuck, unsolved, between Saudi Arabia and Kuwait for the past 50 years. And they want to fix it now before we continue to produce from that area. We think a 50-year-old issue is almost impossible to fix in a few weeks. So, we’re trying to have an agreement with the Kuwaitis to continue to produce for the next five to 10 years and at the same time, we work on the sovereignty issues.

“We are ready in Saudi Arabia, and now we’re working with the Kuwaitis. We believe we can have something soon. We’re trying to convince the Kuwaitis to talk about the sovereignty issues, while continuing to produce until we solve that issue.””

  10. ‘Qatar sponsors chaos in Tripoli’ (saudigazette, Oct 5, 2018)
    http://saudigazette.com.sa/article/544910/World/Qatar-sponsors-chaos-in-Tripoli

” A member of the Libyan National Popular Movement Dr. Asaad Al-Abbani blamed Qatar for the turmoil several Libyan cities are witnessing including the capital Tripoli.

Al-Abbani accused Qatar of extending its military and logistical support to dozens of terrorist outfits in Libya, particularly Ansar Al-Sharia, Libya Dawn Forces, Jaish Al-Qabail, Al-Bunyan Al-Marsous and Tripoli Revolutionaries, which are wreaking havoc in all Libyan cities.

He stressed that his country has hundreds of documents proving Doha’s involvement in supporting terror activities on Libyan soil.

In a statement to Okaz/Saudi Gazette, Al-Abbani added that Libya is capable of protecting its people and its land. It is working towards this with all bravery and ferocity in confronting the terrorist groups.

He stressed that Qatar is the main sponsor of terrorism in his country. He warned that Qatar would someday pay a heavy price for its support for terror.

Several arrested terrorists have confessed during investigations that they received financial and moral support from Qatar.

Al-Abbani also claimed that backed by Turkey, Qatar is thwarting all attempts to find a political solution to the Libyan crisis. He added that the Doha regime does not want political stability in Libya with an aim to control Libyan oil and gas, which is evident in its relentless attempts to grab the resources through smuggling mafias.

He added these terrorist outfits also pose a security threat to Egypt as they infiltrate the Egyptian territories and carry out acts of sabotage and destruction.

Al-Abbani also said Qatar is playing a sinister role in making Muslim Brotherhood members Libyan citizens so that they can reach power and gradually consolidate control over Libya.”

    • Combine this report from the middle of the summer with the article that WrathofKahn posted below and it looks like NR’s water wars are about to start. I agree with him that the wars for water and food will turn the entire world into a massive killing zone, the nations in the Northern Hemisphere with plenty of water and food will have to defend our borders from the invaders that are trying to take our resources for their own. Letting them in will simply make matters worse as there aren’t enough resources in the Northern Hemisphere to allow the population of the world to move to the areas that now have plenty of food and water. Plus the massive increase of population in the Norther Hemisphere will stress their environment to the point that the shortages of food and water will spread to include them.

“The Iraqi Ministry of Agriculture yesterday announced that the winter crop area will be reduced by 55 per cent due to lack of irrigation water.

“The agricultural plan for the current winter season is 55 per cent lower than last season because the water level allows us to irrigate only 1.711 million dunums [422,797 acres],” ministry spokesman, Hamid Nayef, said in a statement.

Nayef added that “1.261 million dunums [311,599 acres] will be used for wheat growing, 250,000 dunums [61,776 acres] for barley and 200,000 [49,421 acres] for vegetable growing,” noting that more land will be added to the winter agricultural plan if there is sufficient rainfall.

In June, Iraq banned the planting of eight summer crops, including rice, corn and cotton because of water shortages.”

  13. Morocco Categorically Refuses to Host Reception Centers for Migrants (moroccoworldnews, Oct 5, 2018)
    https://www.moroccoworldnews.com/2018/10/254643/morocco-reception-centers-for-migrants/

“Morocco’s Government Spokesperson Mustapha El Khalfi reaffirmed Morocco’s categorical refusal to house reception centers for migrants to the EU on Thursday.

After the government’s weekly council, El Khalfi said that the idea of creating reception centers for migrants is only an attempt to externalize Europe’s migration challenges.

He added that it would not be a solution to curb the challenges.

“We need a long-term solution and not an immediate economic solution.”

El Khalfi also recalled Morocco’s strategy to integrate some migrants into Moroccan society by regularizing more than 50,000 migrants.

El Khalfi asserted that reception centers would run counter to human rights, and Morocco could not agree to be involved.

Commenting on immigration networks, El Khalfi said they have developed a new strategy, using for the first time a “go-fast boat.”

He said that the government has dismantled more than 80 networks of undocumented immigration and human trafficking.

“Therefore, there is no reason to accept the idea of creating reception centers in Moroccan soil,” El Khalfi concluded.

Morocco’s foreign affairs minister Nasser Bourita made similar remarks in June.

Bourita said that Morocco “rejects and has always rejected these kinds of methods for managing the issue of migration flows,” describing such solutions as easy and “counterproductive.”

Bourita repeated Morocco’s position in a recent interview with German news outlet Die Welt.

“Morocco is generally against all kinds of centers. It is part of our migration policy and it’s a position in the name of national sovereignty,” he said.

Bourita said that 3 percent of the world’s population have migrated, 80 percent of which have done so legally. “We are talking about only 20 percent of this 3 percent.”

The number of migrants crossing the Mediterranean from Morocco to Spain more than tripled between 2016 and 1017.

    Spain to repatriate 210,000 Moroccans

Moroccan newspaper Akhbar Al Yaoum reported on Thursday that the Spanish government is expected to repatriate 211,000 undocumented Moroccans from Spain.

The newspaper added that 6,000 of the undocumented migrants had arrived in Spain since January 2018.

The newspaper also said that Spanish officials are concerned about the number of Moroccans who are seeking asylum in Spain. The majority of people who are seeking asylum say they come from the Rif region in northern Morocco, which was rocked by protests called “Hirak Rif” in 2016 and 2017.

The Hirak Rif movement erupted between 2016 and 2017 after the death of a local fishmonger in the northern Al Hoceima province. The fishmonger was killed in a garbage track as he was trying to save his goods that authorities had confiscated.

The tragedy caused hundreds of protests and a government crackdown which resulted in the arrest of more than 400 protesters.”

    https://www.reuters.com/article/us-eu-migrants-slovakia/slovakia-may-take-in-syrian-orphans-in-break-with-neighbours-pm-idUSKCN1MF2L3

“STRBSKE PLESO, Slovakia (Reuters) – Slovakia may accept several dozen orphaned Syrian children, Prime Minister Peter Pellegrini told Reuters on Friday, making a slight break from other central European allies who have refused refugees.

A massive influx of asylum seekers from the Middle East and Africa three years ago created deep divisions in the EU between frontline countries Italy and Greece, rich destination countries like Germany, and four ex-communist states on the EU’s eastern edge — Poland, the Czech Republic, Hungary and Slovakia.

Slovakia has long stood with others in central Europe in opposition to EU executive attempts to push mandatory relocation quotas.

In an interview on the sidelines of the Globsec Tatra Summit in the Slovak mountains, Pellegrini said Slovakia was a rich enough country to be able to take care of “ten, twenty or thirty children” currently placed in a refugee camp in Greece.

“We are politicians but when we look at the suffering of the Syrian orphans, currently being taken care of by another member state, I think we should be more humane,” Pellegrini said.

“Slovakia’s economy, Slovakia’s society, or Slovakia’s culture can’t be threatened by several dozen orphans who would be placed in our children’s homes … They would learn our language and our culture,” he added.

Slovakia at times in the past has taken in some asylum seekers, including temporarily housing hundreds from neighbouring Austria while their requests were being assessed.”
