  2. Iran: Sanctions threaten human tissue regeneration practice

A company at the heart of Iran’s flowering biotech industry has said that foreign sanctions are putting research at risk, in an interview filmed on Kish Island this Thursday.

SOT, Dr. Saeed Bayan Al-Hagh, Managing Director of Tissue regeneration corporation (Farsi): “The collection of products made at this science-based company are called allograft bio-implants. What does that mean? It means they can be implanted in the body of another person, and they have been donated from the body of a person that has suffered brain or cardiac death, and then these products have been generated through the science of tissue engineering. These products have so far been given to 800,000 Iranian patients.”

SOT, Dr. Saeed Bayan Al-Hagh, Managing Director of Tissue regeneration corporation (Farsi): “These products are in fact used as replacement for damaged tissues. The entire surgeons in orthopaedics, jaw and face, mouth, throat, and spinal cord surgeons and neurosurgery are among people who can use this collection of products, as well as cardiac surgeons.”

SOT, Dr. Saeed Bayan Al-Hagh, Managing Director of Tissue regeneration corporation (Farsi): “The collection of this science-based company’s products fall into four groups. One, the skeletal or bone products, from which the group is divided into about 200 different products, ranging from bone powders in various sizes to big bone shafts and bone pieces with clearly defined shapes. The second group of the products are the products that are related to cardiac surgeons. For example aortic valves among the products that can be mentioned. The third group are soft tissues which for example include tendons and ligaments, of which you have heard a lot in people, in accidents, in sportsmen, they have been damaged and the products from this collection can be used as replacement for them. And the fourth group is epithelium products, which we can call skin products, as they are commonly known.” *LOOSE TRANSLATION AT SOURCE*

SOT, Dr. Saeed Bayan Al-Hagh, Managing Director of Tissue regeneration corporation (Farsi): “Our products, speaking in terms of single shipments, have been exported to all regional countries, such as Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, the UAE, Qatar, and Oman, as well as European countries and all European countries which boast of such technology, such as Britain, France, Germany, Belgium, in single shipments in order to introduce the complex’s scientific achievements, and they have been grafted into the bodies of various citizens of these countries.”

SOT, Dr. Saeed Bayan Al-Hagh, Managing Director of Tissue regeneration corporation (Farsi): “Sanctions, speaking generally, had some influence, since they impact the imports of special equipment which are used in this complex as part of the technology to produce the complex’s products. For example, we see some machines which sterilise the special atmosphere of this complex; and some machines which are used in the final stages in the freeze-drying process, they are directly put under sanctions. And when there are sanctions, in the end the health sector suffers significant damage. Although this complex relies on domestic know-how, but because there are ties with oversees in terms of equipment and technology, the sanctions ultimately have an impact on this sector and in the end, there is vulnerability in the health sector, especially in the field of allograft bio-implant.”

  6. Christianity CRACKDOWN: Crisis in Nigeria as THOUSANDS killed in ‘pure GENOCIDE’ (express, Jun 30, 2018)
    https://www.express.co.uk/news/world/981611/christian-persecution-christianity-nigeria

“THOUSANDS of men, women and children have been killed in Nigeria in what the country’s Christian community are condemning as “ethnic cleansing”.

Last weekend 238 Christians were killed in a number of attacks by militia in Plateau State, a region in the heart of the country.

Campaigners are warning it is just the latest example of “pure genocide” in a country ravaged by religious division.

A joint statement issued by the Christian Association of Nigeria said more than 6,000 Christian worshippers – “mostly children, women and the aged” – had already been killed this year.

They said: “There is no doubt that the sole purpose of these attacks is aimed at ethnic cleansing, land grabbing and forceful ejection of the Christian natives from their ancestral land and heritage.

“What is happening in Plateau state and other select states in Nigeria is pure genocide and must be stopped immediately.”

They said those responsible were being allowed to “go scot free” and said the Nigerian government was wrongly trying to paint the attacks as “farmers/herdsmen clashes”.

The statement said: “How can it be a clash when one group is persistently attacking, killing, maiming, destroying and the other group is persistently being killed, maimed and their places of worship destroyed?

“How can it be a clash when the herdsmen are hunting farmers in their own villages/communities and farmers are running for their lives?”

They said the police service was “skewed” against Christians and even accused the government of being “lukewarm” in its attempts to free the Chibok schoolgirls.

Nigeria is one of the world’s most dangerous countries to be a Christian with anti-persecution organisation Open Doors ranking it 14th on its annual watchlist.

They said Islamic extremism, especially in the north of the country, was leading to “hostility towards Christians”.

Open Doors said: “Believers experience discrimination and exclusion, and violence from militant Islamic groups, resulting in the loss of property, land, livelihood, physical injury or death. This is spreading southwards.

“Corruption has enfeebled the state and made it ill-equipped to protect Christians. Rivalry between ethnic groups and raids by Fulani herdsmen compound the persecution.

“Converts face rejection from their Muslim families and pressure to recant.””

  7. Iran’s top leader alleges US, allies behind recent unrest (abcnews, Jun 30, 2018)
    https://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/irans-top-leader-alleges-us-allies-recent-unrest-56281006

“Iran’s Supreme Leader has accused the United States and allies of fomenting unrest in Iran.

State TV Sunday quotes Ayatollah Ali Khamenei as saying the U.S. has formed a coalition with other regional countries that is unable to defeat Iran.

Khamenei didn’t name any specific nations in the so-called coalition but alleged it is imposing economic pressure on Iran to “separate the nation from the system.”

He says: “If the U.S. was able to overpower the Islamic system, it would not have needed to form a coalition with notorious countries of the region to create chaos, unrest and insecurity in Iran.”

Last week, online videos showed police firing tear gas at protesters angered by Iran’s cratering economy. It was the first such confrontation after similar demonstrations rocked the country at the start of the year.”

  9. U.S. intelligence believes North Korea making more nuclear bomb fuel despite talks: NBC

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – U.S. intelligence agencies believe North Korea has increased production of fuel for nuclear weapons at multiple secret sites in recent months and may try to hide these while seeking concessions in nuclear talks with the United States, NBC News quoted U.S. officials as saying.

In a report on Friday, the network said what it described as the latest U.S. intelligence assessment appeared to go counter to sentiments expressed by President Donald Trump, who tweeted after an unprecedented June 12 summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un that “there is no longer a nuclear threat from North Korea.”

NBC quoted five unidentified U.S. officials as saying that in recent months North Korea had stepped up production of enriched uranium for nuclear weapons, even as it engaged in diplomacy with the United States.

The network cited U.S. officials as saying that the intelligence assessment concludes that North Korea has more than one secret nuclear site in addition to its known nuclear fuel production facility at Yongbyon.

  10. Teen suspects in MS-13 murder in Maryland are unaccompanied ‘children’ from El Salvador
By Daily Caller News Foundation June 30, 2018

A pair of teenage brothers charged in the stabbing death of a 19-year-old in Maryland are nationals of El Salvador who arrived in the U.S. as unaccompanied minors, The Daily Caller News Foundation has learned.

Lenin Mancias-Callejas and Bryan Mancias-Callejas, both 16, were arrested and charged Wednesday with first degree murder in the killing of Herson Mejia-Alvarez, Prince George’s County Police said.

Both Mancias-Callejas brothers are illegal immigrants from El Salvador, a senior Department of Homeland Security official familiar with the matter told TheDCNF on Friday.

“DHS can confirm that Lenin Mancias-Callejas and Bryan Mancias-Callejas are natives of El Salvador who entered the United States as an Unaccompanied Alien Children [UAC] and are illegally present,” the official said on the condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss the case publicly.

  11. Why Fox News can’t say it’s radical for de Blasio and Gillibrand to call for ‘abolishing ICE’
    By J.E. Dyer June 29, 2018

What you have to love about this news is the Fox News headline announcing that New York Mayor Bill de Blasio and U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY) have jumped on the “abolish ICE” bandwagon.

‘Abolish ICE’ goes mainstream as Gillibrand, de Blasio back calls

But that’s not really what has happened. You can’t make something mainstream by having “mainstream” politicians embrace it.

The idea itself – abolishing ICE, as if it’s a cancerous tumor – is absurd. When mainstream politicians embrace absurd ideas, they make themselves absurd. That’s how it actually works.

Immigration enforcement and customs enforcement have been standard functions of government in one form or another for centuries. The U.S. has had a federal immigration bureau since 1891, when the United States Bureau of Immigration was created (we had some provisions for immigration policy at the federal level prior to that, as well, but not a formal agency). The follow-on Immigration and Naturalization Service was created in 1933.

  12. IT vendor: Imran Awan asked for bribe in exchange for contract with former Dem Rep. Gwen Graham
By Daily Caller News Foundation June 29, 2018

Democratic IT aide Imran Awan solicited a bribe from an IT vendor in exchange for contracting opportunities with the office of then-Rep. Gwen Graham, the vendor alleged to The Daily Caller News Foundation, adding that Imran spoke to him in detail about his alleged financial fraud schemes in the House.

The Department of Justice knows of the source — the longtime owner of a major House IT company — and what he is prepared to testify, a high-level official in Jeff Sessions’ DOJ with knowledge of the investigation confirmed. But the vendor said no law enforcement ever even tried to interview them.

Imran worked as an IT aide for the congressional office of Florida Democratic Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz before he and various family members began appearing on the payrolls of other members, particularly from Florida. The House Inspector General found that the Awans made “unauthorized access” to congressional computers in 2016, but the House has been extraordinarily mum about why little action has been taken since.

The FBI arrested Imran at Dulles International Airport while attempting to fly to Pakistan in July 2017, but he has been charged only with bank fraud.

    https://www.breitbart.com/london/2018/06/30/captured-french-islamic-state-fighter-reveals-buried-kalashnikovs-plot-to-attack-nuclear-power-plant/

“Captured Islamic State jihadist Jonathan Geffroy has made even more startling revelations, claiming terrorists buried multiple Kalashnikov rifles around the city of Toulouse, France and plotted to attack a nuclear power plant.

Geffroy was captured in 2017 and handed over to French authorities in September by the Turkish government, and for several months was interrogated by the French intelligence service, the Directorate General of Internal Security (DGSI).

While in Syria, Geffroy claims to have become close with the Clain brothers, the most senior French-born Islamic State members in the organisation, and said that they had ordered Islamists in France to bury Kalashnikov rifles around the city of Toulouse, L’Express reports.

“I do not have any more information about the localization, I tell myself that if they buried this Kalashnikov [in his declarations, he alternates the singular and the plural -Ed], it is that they had perhaps planned to do something,” he said.

Geffroy also shed light on the 2016 Brussels attacks, saying they were not planned and were a result of the arrest of Bataclan terrorist Salah Abdeslam, who this week said he felt no remorse for the 2015 massacre and tried to justify the attack..:”

“The Libya correspondent for the French newspaper Le Monde has claimed the country could be playing host to as many as 700,000 to one million asylum seekers, with many waiting to come to Europe.

The claims came from journalist Frédéric Bobin who took questions from readers on the current situation in Libya and the status of the migrant crisis which has engulfed the country.

According to Bobin, “across all categories, it is estimated that between 700,000 and 1 million migrants and refugees are present in Libya. That was at least the situation in 2017.”

The journalist added that most of the migrants flowing into Libya who hope to reach Europe used to come primarily from Ethiopia, Eritrea, and Somalia, but now they have been joined by large numbers of migrants from West Africa…”

Paul Sperry, Real Clear Investigations June 30, 2018

[Ed. – This is the “Russian hacking” intelligence I have written about extensively here and here. The short story is that intelligence gained by the Russians, and seen by U.S. agencies, suggested Lynch promised a Hillary aide not to let the probe “go too far.” Comey has alluded to that supposed intelligence on multiple occasions, but it was redacted from the DOJ IG report, and so far DOJ/FBI have stonewalled congressional attempts to view it. Paul Sperry’s excellent write-up doesn’t really contain anything new — i.e., beyond what I’ve written up before — except for this crucial tidbit: confirmation that the intelligence was “TS/SCI.” Actually, there should be no issue with allowing members of the intelligence committees to see that. Here’s One Unverified File the Feds Won’t Leak: About Loretta Lynch

The FBI had little problem leaking “unverified” dirt from Russian sources on Donald Trump and his campaign aides – and even basing FISA wiretaps on it. But according to the Justice Department’s inspector general, the bureau is refusing to allow even members of Congress with top security clearance to see intercepted material alleging political interference by President Obama’s attorney general, Loretta Lynch.

That material – which has been outlined in press reports – consists of unverified accounts intercepted from putative Russian sources in which the head of the Democratic National Committee allegedly implicates the Hillary Clinton campaign and Lynch in a secret deal to fix the Clinton email investigation.

“It is remarkable how this Justice Department is protecting the corruption of the Obama Justice Department,” said Tom Fitton, president of Washington-based watchdog Judicial Watch, which is suing for the material.

Lynch and Clinton officials as well as the DNC chairman at the time, Debbie Wasserman Schultz, have denied the allegations and characterized them as Russian disinformation.

“IT MUST STOP” Eric Holder Demands GOP Lawmakers Halt FISA Abuse Investigations by Obama Deep State

On Friday, former Attorney General Eric ‘Fast and Furious’ Holder demanded “unprincipled” House Republicans halt their investigations into FISA abuse and Spygate, warning the probes “must stop.”

House Republicans held two hearings this week, demanding answers from Peter Strzok, FBI Director Wray and DAG Rosenstein about government surveillance during the 2016 election.

GOP lawmakers grilled Peter Strzok Wednesday in a closed-door deposition. According to Chairman Goodlatte, FBI counsel instructed Strzok not to answer many of the questions.

Wray and Rosenstein appeared on Capitol Hill Thursday for a Congressional hearing. House Republicans torched Rosenstein over his conflicts of interest in the Mueller probe and demanded he fork over classified documents on Trump-Russia.

Later Thursday afternoon, House Republicans passed a resolution giving DAG Rosenstein 7 days to turn over requested documents or face impeachment and or contempt charges.

  31. Why Britain’s Deradicalization Programs Are Failing

    by A. Z. Mohamed
    June 30, 2018 at 5:00 am

    https://www.gatestoneinstitute.org/12575/britain-deradicalization-programs

The vast majority of deradicalization programs in the UK are at best ineffective and at worst counter-productive, according to a recent study by the Behavioural Insights Team (BIT, also known as the “nudge unit”), a social purpose company partially owned by the UK government, but that works in partnership with the Cabinet Office.

As the Times reported recently, BIT examined 33 deradicalization programs across Britain, in schools, youth centers, sports clubs and English-language classes. Most of these are part of Prevent — a strategy presented in 2011 to the UK Parliament by the Secretary of State for the Home Department — designed to keep vulnerable citizens from becoming terrorists or supporting any form of violent extremism inspired by radical Islamist or right-wing ideologies. BIT found that only two of the programs have been successful.

The main reason for the failure of the other 31 programs, according to the Times’ report on the study, is:

Gauland compared German Chancellor Angela Merkel with the former General Secretary of East Germany Erich Honecker, likeneing her growing list of enemies in Europe to the GDR regime.

“Merkel falls, no matter how long she will try to catch herself. She divided her party, she divided our country and she isolated Germany within Europe,” Gauland added.

AfD spokesperson Joerg Meuthen stated that Germany needs allies in Europe to avoid the “creeping suicide” of Europe. He wanted Germany to ally itself with the new European populist right, such as Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz, Hugarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban and Lega leader Matteo Salvini.

  34. Out of EU, out of mind: ‘Merkel-saving’ EU deal on migrants leaves many open questions

Human-rights activists have voiced concern over the creation of migrant processing camps, a move decided upon by EU leaders on Friday. They fear such facilities could effectively become detention centres and lead to human rights violations.

  35. Deutsche Welle – Chancellor Angela Merkel unveils immigration plan to allies

Chancellor Angela Merkel has circulated a letter to coalition partners outlining the deal. The letter also calls for the creation of large “anchor centers” at Germany’s borders to process asylum seekers.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel has secured the consent of 16 European Union member states for the rapid return of migrants who first arrived in other countries, according to a document seen by German news outlets on Saturday.

The countries listed are Hungary, Poland, the Czech Republic, Belgium, Denmark, Estonia, France, Finland, Lithuania, Latvia, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Portugal and Sweden.

Austria, whose chancellor, Sebastian Kurz, is an immigration hardliner, is noticeably absent from the list.

Hungary and the Czech Republic contradict Merkel

Following reports of the deal, a spokesman for the Hungarian government denied that Budapest has agreed to a migrant repatriation system with Germany.

“No such deal has been reached,” Zoltan Kovacs said.

Soon after, Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babis also denied there was a migrant deal with Berlin.

“This alarming news is complete nonsense,” he said. “Germany did not approach us, and in this moment I would not ratify such an agreement.”

Subsequently, a spokesman for the German government responded by saying that “the Czech side had expressed willigness to negotiate an administrative deal on improvement of cooperation for returning the migrants in the future.”

“We regretfully accept today’s comments from Prague,” the official added.

    Merkel calls for ‘anchor centers’

The document also calls for large “anchor centers” to be set up at Germany’s border to process migrants. According to German news agency DPA, another facet of her plan is to send German police to Bulgaria to assist in patrolling the EU’s outer border. A deal has reportedly already been reached with Sofia.

“We must also be prepared to help support Slovenia and Croatia with border control if necessary,” she said.

The chancellor also intends to reinforce Frontex, the EU border security forces, active on Greece’s borders with Macedonia and Albania, before the end of August..

Immigration has been one of Merkel’s biggest challenges since the refugee crisis of 2015, when her decision to keep Germany’s borders open was met with widespread acclaim and equal amounts of criticism. More recently, it has presented her with the biggest challenge she has yet faced from within her own ranks.

Interior Minister Horst Seehofer, the former minister president of Bavaria, has been pressuring Merkel to close Germany’s borders and has even implied that he may pull his party, the Christian Social Union (CSU), from the governing coalition. Though he later said he did not want to ‘topple’ Merkel over migration.

DW’s Chief Political Editor Michaela Küfner said Merkel was meeting with Seehofer on Saturday night. Merkel was expected to argue the deal with 14 EU nations was enough to meet the CSU’s demands:

    Spain, Greece already on board

The chancellor had already announced some progress at a summit of EU leaders on Friday, when Spain and Greece agreed to take back migrants who are already registered in those countries.

Although migrants are supposed to be processed in the first EU nation in which they arrive according to the Dublin Agreement, studies show that only 15 percent of asylum seekers have been sent back to their first port of entry.

Merkel insisted on Saturday that the deals were “more than equivalent” to the CSU’s demands, and denied interpretations that this allows the Bavarians to close the border.

“Unilateral measures at the expense of other countries are not what is meant,” said a government spokesman, adding that no special “internal” measures were included either.

SPD welcomes deal, skeptical of camps

Merkel’s coalition partners the Social Democrats (SPD), said on Saturday that they welcomed most of the chancellor’s plan.

But, SPD chief Andrea Nahles said, they would not stand behind “closed” refugee camps, and that they were skeptical of sending migrants to camps outside of the EU, citing concerns over humanitarian conditions in centers.

While CSU head Seehofer did not immediatelly comment on the Merkel’s letter, his close ally Markus Söder, the premier of Bavaria, signaled his approval.

“It absolutely goes in the right direction,” he said of Merkel’s suggestion and the EU migrant agreement from earlier this week.

  37. Sanctuary Philadelphia Releases Illegal Alien Wife Beater

The local government’s goal of making Philadelphia a sanctuary city will not deter us from our mission…

(Kaylee McGhee, Liberty Headlines) An illegal alien convicted of assaulting his wife was released by the city of Philadelphia, and shortly thereafter rearrested by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Guillermo Leon-Sandoval, 35, was charged by Philadelphia police with unlawful bodily injury, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person, and false imprisonment.

A federal judge then signed an active detainer and a criminal arrest order, but city authorities did not honor it.

After he was released, ICE rearrested Leon-Sandoval, who had been previously convicted of illegal entry in September 2014.

“The local government’s goal of making Philadelphia a sanctuary city will not deter us from our mission of making communities safer nationwide and honoring immigration laws,” Gregory Brawley, acting field officer director for ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations Philadelphia, said in a statement. “In this case, the individual has been charged with recent violent crimes. We will continue to pursue individuals such as this for arrest and removal.”

Philadelphia said it would turn over immigrants to ICE only if the agency has a warrant signed by a judge, but now it refuses to respect even that.
