(I could swear that once people are arrested and charged with something like murder, they usually do show an image and a name.)

5. I like how all CBC reports on migrants act like the migrants themselves have no agency whatsoever but are pure victims. No one ever says: “Gee if they paid thousands of dollars to a smuggler to get them somewhere, doesn’t that mean they knew indisputably that they are breaking laws and going where they are not wanted?”

For everyone with a flour-ish thumb, Monday is Santiago Matamoros day! What a great day to bake and share some wonderful Spanish tradition and food!

Here is one recipe. This is not an endorsement for it, I have never tasted one, and only recently found out about these. But it strikes me as a great way to get friends and neighbours to listen to the story of the Islamic brutal rule of Spain, and how the Spanish peoples managed to fight back against the Islamic invaders and in celebration, started this tradition of a cake decorated with the Cross of Matamoros.

I am hoping to try one myself this Monday. And as it is a genuine cultural practice dating back some time now, possibly to the Reconquista, people may be more receptive to listening to its origins than the usual attempts to get through to the selectively deaf left.

      What happens when it’s just a matter of zip (area or zone) code and not an ecktual object of hard-earned monetary value? Is there any substantial difference in the value structures involved?!?

      Oh, I know that this already has been happening with gang identifications and the usual turf kerfuffles in and about oooooooohhhh … let’s just say, ALL OF ENGLAND, and a lot of the EU. Let’s do have us go on, eh?

      The problem is that; I’m not talking about these lamewad little McHatfield & MacCoy feuds (“Would you like to supersize your Kentucky Tastee Orbit Fries™ with that order?“). Beyond this logjam (so to speak) of picayune taurine fecal matter is a far more serious issue. At the risk of repeating myself too often, I’ll keep it short and sweet:

      The (admittedly) horrific countermeasures required to neutralize Islam’s vicious, asymmetric terrorist threats against the West will be a pimple on the @ss of what it takes to Ensure™ that Communist China is brought up short before it finally stops breathing its own exhaust, sets down stakes, and actually begins to oxygenate its own self with domestically produced goods.

      If Western powers are supremely brain-dead-enough as to squander this very narrow last decade (at best!) worth-of-a-window … then that’s a choice which represents a complete and total abdication of everything that Enlightenment Values stand for.

      Future generations may not exhibit even a slight degree of forgiveness for such a broad-based betrayal of the Scientific Ethos that is happening today.
