  1. The 3 Tragedies of the IG Report and the FBI
    June 15, 2018
    Daniel Greenfield

There are three tragedies in the IG report. And they’re three types of Feds.

    1. There are the Strzoks. Guys who are so politically oriented that their duty and obligations mean nothing to them. They casually corrupt non-partisan institutions for what they consider to be a higher cause and in the process destroy the legitimacy and credibility of those institutions. (Think of Comey’s A Higher Loyalty. It can just as easily refer to the corruption of institutions for partisan higher causes.)

    2. There are the Comeys. Careerists who pick the safe side, while covering their fundaments, and then lecture everyone else on honor and duty. They don’t believe in anything. They’re out for themselves. They’re absorbed the essential lessons of big government. They’re cynical and apathetic beneath a false outer shell of false nobility to disguise their fundamental corruption.

    3. Everyone else.

  2. Trump’s 5 Rules for Ruling the World
Trump isn’t reacting to the world. The world is reacting to him.
    June 15, 2018
    Daniel Greenfield

Politics has a way of turning everything upside down.

Flit over to Twitter and the same government media echo chamber that was loudly defending the Iran deal is concern trolling about strong inspections of North Korea’s nuclear program and worrying that President Trump’s suspension of military exercises is far too great of a concession to the tiny tyrant.

The clever ones ask, “What’s the difference between the Iran deal and the North Korean negotiations”? Isn’t Trump’s stated willingness to meet with dictators a lot like Obama’s no preconditions pledge?

And then there are the trade wars. What is he thinking by upsetting the Chinese and the Europeans?

It’s 2018. And after spilling several small rivers of black ink (digital and virtual) analyzing, smearing, belaboring, insulting and fact checking President Trump, the media still doesn’t understand him.

That’s not surprising. The media has been writing about America for much longer than that and has even less of a clue about how people live outside its preciously hip urban and suburban bubbles.

But there are 5 simple rules for understanding President Trump. They define how he’s lived his life until now. And what still drives him at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. If you understand them, you will get what he’s doing. If you don’t, there’s always a job waiting at the New York Times.

    1. Act, Don’t React

    • Be sure and read the entire article, these 5 simple rules are making America Great Again, they are what makes him a successful businessman.

Yes he seeks chaos because in chaos there is opportunity, I wish I could remember the man who said that when everyone else is selling their stocks he is buying more. Sometimes he lost but he made money more often then he lost.

    • This article is so insightful it should not have been published on national security grounds. Luckily President Trump’s courting of tactical confusion usurps most utility provided by this knowledge.

      • You have a point but what are they going to do, anticipate every possible move he can make? There is always some move that will create chaos in the other side.

        • … my bad …

Richard, I know this seems rather picayune of me, but I’d really appreciate this board not being contaminated by “Ghetto Talk”.

Please do not allow me to censor you in any way. It’s just that this sort of Ebonics is unbearably déclassé. And, yes, I am an insufferable snob.

  3. Harvard consistently rated Asian-American applicants lower than any other race on personal traits like “positive personality,” likability, courage, kindness and being “widely respected,” according to an analysis of more than 160,000 student records filed Friday in federal court in Boston by a group representing Asian-American students in a lawsuit against the university.

Asian-Americans scored higher than applicants of any other racial or ethnic group on admissions measures like test scores, grades and extracurricular activities, according to the analysis commissioned by a group that opposes all race-based admissions criteria. But the students’ personal ratings significantly dragged down their chances of being admitted, the analysis found.

“It turns out that the suspicions of Asian-American alumni, students and applicants were right all along,” the group, Students for Fair Admissions, said in a court document laying out the analysis. “Harvard today engages in the same kind of discrimination and stereotyping that it used to justify quotas on Jewish applicants in the 1920s and 1930s.”

    • If you go by work ethic and desire to do well then they would take 50-60% of places. but they make several other unmentionable groups look bad so their numbers have to be pruned. I mean, you have to have blacks, Hispanics and muslims at Harvard as otherwise anyone would think that they were racists.
Academic credibility is going down the drain in the west and as more such idiots become “professors” academia will continue to decline. Imagine this lot breeding racehorses: they would be out of business very quickly.

      • The lefts social engineering is tearing the west apart. I have seen where some of the conservative professors (the few who are left) are looking for something to take the place of the modern Universities, they want to find a way to give a quality education to the students and thus ensure the survival of the west.

    • The purpose of putting Manafort in a jail is to scare him enough so that he will not only sing but will compose fake evidence against President Trump. This is not just obnoxious to the Constitution but a direct assault on the rule of law in the US, the left came so close to achieving their goal of total control of the US they are unwilling to accept the results of the 2016 election and wait for another chance to change the US into a Marxist nation.

This mess isn’t gong to end well for either side, the left is going to increase their violent attacks on the members of the GOP and the Conservatives. Many people are saying that there can’t be a Second Civil war because the Federal Government is too powerful.. The people who are saying this don’t know much military history, the tactics of asymmetric warfare and the skill of the majority of the armed citizens of the US. The war is being fought now by the left and the rest of us aren’t fighting back, YET. Once we start fighting back the left will discover just how dangerous believing their own propaganda is, they think all who don’t think like them are stupid knuckle dragging primates who can barely speak.

  6. The District Court of South-West Finland has found a Moroccan man guilty on two counts of murder with terrorist intent and eight counts of attempted murder with terrorist intent, and sentenced him to life in prison. This marks the first time that a crime in Finland has been legally classified as terrorism.

The court declared that the attacks were carried out in a premeditated and exceptionally cruel manner.

The court in Turku, where Abderrahman Bouanane carried out the assault last summer, handed down its ruling on Friday afternoon. The defence may appeal the decision.

The 23-year-old admitted to killing two women and injuring eight other people on and near Turku’s main square in August. His trial proceedings began in April.

The “Bakke story” to FAA diversity danger.
    June 15, 2018
    Lloyd Billingsley

One mistake by an air traffic controller can easily cause hundreds of deaths, and that grim reality has prompted the highest hiring standards for any federal workers. That all changed during the past administration when Federal Aviation Administration boss Michael Huerta accepted hiring standards that were politically correct rather than aeronautically correct.

“A group within the FAA, including the human resources function within the FAA, the National Black Coalition of Federal Aviation Employees, determined that the workforce was too white,” attorney and air traffic controller, Michael Pearson recently told Tucker Carlson of Fox News. “They had a concerted effort through the Department of Transportation in the Obama administration to change that.”

Carlson invited FAA bosses to come on the show or be interviewed but they declined. According to Pearson, the new FAA questionnaire and biographical assessment “was made to screen out people with experience,” but it was actually worse. Carlson had a copy of the assessment and the way FAA drones scored it.

Applicants get 10 points for being bad at science, and 10 points for not working. On the other hand, those who can demonstrate knowledge about air traffic control get only five points, and trained pilots two points. “We’re not talking about hiring a sociology professor or some other totally irrelevant job like that,” said Carlson, who called the test “insane.”

  8. Senior FBI official Peter Strzok says he didn’t arrange a cocktail party with a federal judge who serves on the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court, despite telling his mistress in a text message that he would.

Strzok suggested a “cocktail party” with U.S. District Judge Rudolph Contreras in a July 25, 2016, message to FBI attorney Lisa Page. Days later, on July 31, Strzok opened the FBI’s probe of possible Trump campaign collusion with Russia.

Strzok told the Justice Department inspector general’s office that his messages regarding the judge dealt with no particular case and that the social gathering didn’t happen, according to a report released Thursday on the FBI’s Hillary Clinton email investigation.

“The incident took place on Friday, the Bild newspaper reports, citing local police. An attacker killed a 25-year-old woman and injured several others, subsequently fleeing the scene.

As the media noted, the police ruled out that the stabbing was a terrorist attack, saying it was a domestic assault.

The attacker has fled the crime scene and police is now searching for him. A city resident reports that Munich’s main railway station was closed due to the incident.

At 4 pm local time, the police were called in a flat where three people got knife injuries. A 25-year-old woman succumbed to wounds later in hospital, whereas another woman (54) and a teenager (16) are treated with serious injuries by medics.”

The pro-Sharia street posters in the Syrian city of Afrin, which was occupied by the Turkish military and Syrian anti-government militia in March 2018, have triggered an uproar among the local Kurdish majority, according the British newspaper Independent.

Mostly Muslim, but committed to a secular way of life, Kurdish women have reportedly held protests in the city, demanding that the ads be taken down, urging them to wear traditional clothes, covering the face and body, and follow extremely strict Sharia rules…”

    • They are John McCain and John Kerry’s “moderate jihadis”, together with IS who joined their ranks. The Turk used few actual Turkish [Nato-affiliated] soldiers. These were jihadi mercenaries, using Turk-supplied weapons.

They’ve come to colonize a region that’s been Kurdish forever, relatively autonomous under Syrian sovereignty. The population was educated and modern. (I say was because it’s unclear how many people were displaced by the Turk’s incursion.)

An important chunk of Syria, a strategic mountain pass to the Med, falls to the Turk imperialist. Not good at all.

Turkey is this “dangerous” precisely because of the way that so many people are unwilling “to admit” diddly-squat about Europe’s sick-man terrorist régime. 12. The Donald Trump Negotiations Academy

The president’s playbook involves doing essentially the opposite of what American and Israeli negotiators have been doing for the past 30 year

We didn’t learn this week whether North Korea will give up its nuclear weapons. Only time will tell.

But we did learn that US President Donald Trump knows how to negotiate.

All of the negotiations experts insist the opposite is true. “How could they agree to a presidential summit without first guaranteeing its end product?” they sigh, knowingly.

“Trump’s showmanship is dangerous and counterproductive,” they sneer.

“At the end of the day, for this to work, Trump will have to copy Barack Obama’s nuclear deal with Iran,” they insist.

  14. Net Neutrality Is Really About Raising Taxes

The 2015 Obama FCC order reducing the Internet to a regulated public utility under Title II of the 1934 Communications Act was marketed as protecting net neutrality – even though the DC Circuit Court of Appeals expressly held that any ISP that blocked or filtered web traffic would be completely exempt from the rules. The apocalyptic claims from the left that the repeal of Title II – which took effect on June 11 – would herald the end of net neutrality and the destruction of the Internet are therefore obviously absurd hyperbole. Especially considering that we have simply returned to the same regulatory framework that applied while the Internet grew and thrived for decades until 2015.

So what are the real stakes as Congress considers a partisan Democratic effort to re-impose the Obama public utility order? Taxes and fees – a lot of them. Internet services are protected by federal law from state, local, and federal taxes, but the Title II order reclassified broadband Internet as a phone service which enjoys no such protection. And there is overwhelming evidence that Democrats were waiting until Hillary Clinton won the election (oops) to spring the Title II tax trap.

The announcement came shortly after Palestinians reported that a drone launched a missile at people near the border fence who were flying balloons with Molotov cocktails attached, and unconfirmed reports by Israeli media that Palestinians planned to launch 5,000 incendiary balloons and kites toward Israel from the Hamas-run Strip to mark Eid al-Fitr on Thursday night.

    • … Palestinians planned to launch 5,000 incendiary balloons and kites toward Israel from the Hamas-run Strip to mark Eid al-Fitr on Thursday night.

Easy peasy. Set up counter-battery fire that drops all of their incendiary devices directly back upon those launching them. After the “Palestinians” get enough doses of their own medicine (preferably in pessary form), maybe they’ll learn to sit down and STFU. Until then, there will just more dead “Palestinians”. Boo hoo!

PS: You’d think these genocidal morons might have gotten some sort of takeaway from the almost iron-clad historic 10:1 death toll ratio that they’ve experienced going up against the IDF. So be it.

  18. When, not if: US poised to quit UN’s human rights council

GENEVA (AP) — Diplomats say the United States is about to quit the United Nation’s main human rights body, primarily over Washington’s claim that the Human Rights Council is biased against Israel.

The move would be the Trump administration’s latest snub of the international community. The U.S. State Department said Friday no decision has been made to leave.

But diplomats who requested anonymity said it appears more a matter of when, not if, the pullout threatened last year by the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, Nikki Haley, will happen.

Never in the 12 years of the council has a serving member dropped out voluntarily. Seven years ago, in the midst of the Arab Spring, Moammar Gadhafi’s Libya was kicked out with the approval of the U.N. General Assembly, which has final say.

  20. Netanyahu: 70 Percent of Terrorists Are Killed in the Act

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told the International Homeland Security Forum on Thursday that 70% of those carrying out terror attacks against Israelis had been killed during or immediately after the attack, a key factor in reducing terror. “The number of people who want to commit suicide is limited,” he noted.

Netanyahu said the “courage and initiative of Israeli citizens” to tackle terrorists was an important factor. “The number of Israeli citizens who have weapons is about 3%, maybe 4%,” he said. “But that is enough to have them in any terrorist occurrence.”

“Quite a few times Israeli citizens, of their own volition, sometimes armed with small weapons and sometimes with their bare hands, helped stop this as well. That is the culture.”

The Israeli Cabinet on Sunday approved a strategic plan for dealing with the effect of the current 5-year drought. The flow of water in the National Water Carrier is to be reversed, with water flowing for the first time into Lake Kinneret (Sea of Galilee), which has reached an unprecedented low level. The plan also includes construction of two desalination facilities, reclamation of rivers in northern Israel, and connecting areas that are not linked to the national water system. Israel currently has five desalination facilities.

  22. IDF Intel Chief: Iran determined to maintain strike capability from Syria

Iran is continuing to try “to increase their efforts and capabilities to launch rockets [from Syria] and establish terror cells that can penetrate into Israel and harm communities in the Golan Heights,” IDF Intelligence Directorate head Maj.-Gen. Tamir Heyman told the International Homeland Security Forum in Jerusalem on Wednesday.

“The fact that they succeeded in launching rockets toward Israel, causing us to open shelters, is seen by them as a great success, even though it was a total failure operationally.”

In May, Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps fired a barrage of 32 Fajr-5 and Grad missiles toward Israel, leading to Israel striking more than 50 Iranian targets in Syria in response.

  23. Canada Comes to Its Senses on Iran

[…] Trudeau’s Liberal government on Wednesday after it backed a resolution in the House of Commons to “immediately cease any and all negotiations or discussions” with the Iranian regime.

The resolution also designated the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps as a terrorist entity under Canadian criminal law, condemned the mullahs for their “ongoing sponsorship of terrorism around the world,” and denounced Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei for “calling for genocide against the Jewish people.”

….[Trudeau’s] support for the resolution marked a striking about-face. Trudeau had campaigned for restoring Ottawa’s ties with Tehran, severed in 2012 by the previous, Conservative government. . . .

It turns out that even the Trudeau-led Canadian Liberals have their limits when it comes to dealing with the Islamic Republic. As the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation reported, Ottawa dispatched two diplomatic missions in 2017 to explore a rapprochement. But there were two stumbling blocks. The Iranians insisted that their country should be removed from Canada’s list of terror-sponsoring nations, and the Canadians were determined to free various hostages held by the regime. The Iranians were apparently immovable on the matter of the hostages and the Canadians were, in turn, unwilling to deny the basic truth about Iran’s role in sponsoring international terror.

Passage of the resolution doesn’t mean Canada is rethinking its support for Barack Obama’s nuclear deal. But it underscores Iran’s growing isolation as a new generation of Western leaders comes to learn that there are no “moderates” and “hardliners” in Tehran—only tyrants and terrorists.…
