Four people shot in Pickering Ontario

Increasingly, the media avoids informing the public and often now actually misinforms the public on important events.

I have no idea what to make of this as there is so little information. But it is at least worth asking the question if this is jihad related. I mean it is Ramavan and its not like nothing like this ever happens.

    • Not mine, I think it was our reader, Blackbird. But I can’t say for sure. It is clever though. I try and make sure I always use that variation.

  1. OMG. When I saw the bag barriers. The Police know the truth but still, none speak out.
So, we are in Ramadan, and a group of people carry out their usual Pork BBQ but they need physical barriers to protect them.
But the barriers aren’t enough. They forgot about guns and knives and suicidal bombs.

This is news?!? Please pardon my insolent humor, Eeyore. The MSM has been humanity’s enemy for decades.

Slackers! What about the beer-barrel breaching, wet t-shirt contest, cigar lounge, and Kosher farmer’s market? Such a squandered opportunity!!!

    • Back at ‘cha, johnnyu:

A park ranger is astonished to see a beachcomber shooting seagulls and stuffing them into a pillowcase.

He runs up and shouts at the guy, “Hey! Shorebirds are protected and you’re not allowed to hunt them.”

Out of sheer curiosity, the ranger asks him, “Why are you hunting these gulls?”

Bulging pillowcase in hand, the poacher replies, “I eat them.”

Staggered, the ranger asks, “What do they taste like?!?”

“Sorta like a cross between spotted owl and bald eagle…”

    • PS: The fur of polar bears is more akin to fiber optics than regular animal hair. According to legend, it channels solar energy directly into their bodies.

Also, ask any Esquimaux and they will tell you that eating a polar bear’s liver will KILL YOU. The immense amounts of vitamins A and E needed to maintain Arctic ursine skin oil and elasticity are more than enough of what’s needed to punch your ticket.

    • Why the Chinese don’t have a world chess champion

      “Look to brack kling’s foul!”

Sho, nuff. That’s gonna warp drive you straight past Bobby Fischer.

    • For the record, the site I’ve taken this article from is pretty bad as I have gone back to briefly check it out. Fairly biased ant-American. However this article, whether it means it or not, tells me that in their eagerness to promote their Silk Road enterprise in central Europe, the Chinese may have screwed themselves. Poland’s quest for security with the U.S. will take priority over any Silk Road. So will that of other V4 nations.

      • … the Chinese may have screwed themselves.

The Communist Chinese haven’t just “screwed themselves”, they’ve created the biggest financial and real estate bubbles in human history while causing some of the most catastrophic environmental damage imaginable.

Just between the OFOC (One Family, One Child) policy and concomitant, forced sterilizations, The Middle Kingdom is screwed, blued, and tattooed.

        • If we can hold off war long enough China is going to collapse like the Soviet Union, when this happens we need to insist on a decommunization program like the denazification program in Germany after WWII. If we had done this in Russia there would be less problems in the world.

I could not agree with you more. That the Soviet thugocracy was merely allowed to shrug off their uniforms and pursue business-as-usual was one of the 20th century’s last Great Crimes™.

They all should have spent a few days twisting gently in the breeze, just like modern Beijing’s Politburo.

I am not so sure, the changes Xi made will allow him and the communist China to last for a long, long time. Also China culture and its people are different from the Russians.

Neither am I, and I genuinely appreciate your observations, kathy.

Be that as it may, Xi is a day late and a dollar short. Communist China already is swirling with tremendous, helical vigor in the porcelain receptacle’s loving whirlpool.

Can the West, somehow, manage to stay out of the way?

              • The people and the culture are very different but that doesn’t change the economic facts. Economics like physics are universal (even though the left tries to deny this fact) Marxist economics don’t work, they can go to the modified socialist economics called crony capitalism but all they do is delay the crash not stop it. The reason that the Marxist economics hasn’t destroyed the US yet is because we elect people like Reagan and Trump who will undo a lot of the damage and save us. After things get better the useful idiots turn out and elect the left that promises them free lunches. Hopefully the Dems sprint lurch to the far left will allow people how understand how the economy works to hold office long enough to undo more of the Marxist damage then the 8 to 12 years we have previously had to undo the damage. One of the things that this will do is to allow strict constructionist to be appointed to the courts. This will undo the Judicial Activists illegally written laws.

              • I’m with you, Kathy.
I just watched a couple documentaries about the Tiananmen Square protests of 1989.
                It’s another planet.
Xi can murder 30% of the population and just keep rolling along.

    • They play Go.
It’s every bit as challenging as chess. I had classmates in college who’d get lost for days in games of Go.
According to my Russki, who plays both, Go is more “dynamic” than Chess.
      Larger scale.

      • According to my Russki, who plays both, Go is more “dynamic” than Chess.

        Larger scale.

        In some ways, yes.

Much like cribbage, go has a few key stages.

        – When initially placing your stones, they must be neither too close nor too far apart in order to create the borders and barriers that will be needed.

        – Intermediate play demands ready response to any placement of an opponent’s stones. Yet, at the same time, one must also do one’s own “empire-building”.

        – The end game starts when too many stones from both sides come into too-close proximity and atari (the process of girdling and removing an opponents pieces) begins.

You are right about the “larger scale”. Literally, unlike chess, throughout an entire game of go, you are always considering the whole board, even as you place a single stone.

  3. The answer to this type of shooting is armed guards that kill the shooters.

      • We are talking Canada here, one step at a time.

But yes that is the preferred solution but as I said this is Canada we are talking about so one step at a time.
