“An Islamophobic former FBI agent, who provides counterterrorism training to members of US law enforcement, has been secretly filmed telling police officers that Muslim students at American universities pose a threat of “jihad” and that a prominent civil rights group is a front for “terrorist” organisations. During the training event, John Guandolo – a conspiracy theorist who has stated publicly that Muslim Americans should not have the same rights as other citizens – also told our reporter that he was in direct and regular contact with Attorney General Jeff Sessions. As he was being secretly filmed in Maricopa County, Arizona, Guandolo said: “I was speaking three or four times a week with Jeff…”

  3. Michael Avenatti threatens to sue Daily Caller reporters over ‘hit pieces’

Michael Avenatti, the lawyer representing porn star Stormy Daniels, on Monday threatened to sue Daily Caller reporters if they continue to write “hit pieces” about him, hours after the publication wrote that Avenatti never paid a former business associate more than $160,000 for coffee beans.

This morning, Avenatti emailed Daily Caller reporter Peter J. Hasson and threatened to sue if he continued to publish “hit pieces” against him.

“Off the Record … If you and your colleagues do not stop with the hit pieces that are full of lies and defamatory statements, I will have no choice but to sue each of you and your publication for defamation,” Avenatti wrote in an email to reporter Peter Hasson.

“During that process, we will expose your publication for what it truly is. We will also recover significant damages against each of you that participated personally. So if I were you, I would tell Mr. Trump to find someone else to fabricate things about me. If you think I’m kidding, you really don’t know anything about me. This is the last warning,” he added.

  4. Turkey: Thousands rally in Istanbul to decry US Israeli embassy move

  5. Austria charges 17 far-right ‘Identitarians’ over hate speech and criminal activities (thelocal, May 14, 2018)
    https://www.thelocal.at/20180514/austria-charges-17

“Austrian prosecutors announced criminal charges Monday against 17 members of the far-right “Identitarian Movement” (IBÖ) connected to several of the group’s activities in recent years.

The state prosecutor in the city of Graz said 10 prominent members of the group and seven other “active sympathisers” were being charged with various counts of hate speech, criminal association, damage to property and coercion.

The charges follow raids last month at the houses of several members of the group, including one of its leaders Martin Sellner.

The group has staged several stunts in recent years to publicise what prosectors called its “xenophobic ideology”.

One such event cited by prosecutors was an incident in March 2017 where members gained access to the roof of the Turkish embassy and hung a banner from it bearing the slogan: “Erdogan, take your Turks back home”.

Another example from June 2016 is mentioned in which members stormed the stage during a talk on refugee policy at Klagenfurt University and unrolled banners reading “Stop Immigration” and “Integration is a lie”.

Sellner, 29, was prevented from entering the UK in March, with authorities judging his presence would not have been “conducive to the public good”.

Last month he took part in an action near the French-Italian border in which far-right activists blocked a mountain pass in protest at the rise in migrants crossing the Alps.”
