  1. Is China Sabotaging the North Korea Denuclearization Talks?
Xi Jinping, who met Kim Jong Un in China, is up to no good

WASHINGTON, D.C.—Tuesday, President Trump revealed that Secretary of State Mike Pompeo was on his way to North Korea. The trip had not been previously announced.

Just hours before, Beijing reported that Kim Jong Un, the North Korean leader, met with China’s Xi Jinping on Monday and Tuesday, in the Chinese port of Dalian. Trump spoke with Xi by phone Tuesday to discuss Xi’s surprise meeting with Kim.

    • Kim jumped when Xi pulled his strings. Is Xi sabotaging the talks? Probably, he wants Kim in the north with nukes to keep part of our forces out of the South around the artificial islands. China has been preparing for a war with the US for decades, I don’t think they are ready to start shooting yet but they don’t want Kim disarmed either.

This is one of the flashpoints where the war will probably start, we also have the Middle East, Europe, Greece and Turkey. I am sure I have missed at least on flash point but you get the idea.

      • Xi might curb Fatboy’s nuclear program to prevent further degradation of China’s environment, but that doesn’t mean he’s giving up his pet pitbull.

Iran will stash anything that can be moved.

        In Iran They Buy Chinese

When a major contract to supply Tehran with more than 600 subway cars came up for tender, it went to China’s CRRC Corp., which beat two European bids to win a contract worth $900 million this year.

Chinese companies are building or funding railway lines to the eastern city of Mashhad and the Gulf port of Bushehr, under deals signed in the past year worth $2.2 billion.

Iran’s trade with China has more than doubled since 2006, to $28 billion.

The biggest chunk of Iran’s oil exports go to China, $11 billion a year at current prices.

“The Chinese have been in Iran for the past 30 years. They have the contacts, the guys on the ground, the links to the local banks,” says Dina Esfandiary, a fellow at the Centre for Science and Security Studies at King’s College in London.

Persia was on the old Silk Road, and Iran is at the heart of Chinese President Xi Jinping’s plans for a new one.

    • Unfortunately, I cannot find a link regarding an AI voting scandal where the program was rounding off numbers and would come up “half votes”. Big fuss over that one.

    • #NeverTrumper Ben Shapiro Argues the Future of Republican Party is Anti-Trump

Should Trump resolve North Korea, finally rebalance longstanding trade inequities, and build the Southern wall, for any Republican to declare themselves as “anti-Trump” would be suicide by spontaneous combustion. Even adding just one or two of those tasks to his portfolio could render him unbeatable in 2020.

Trump’s accomplishments to date represent more grist than most presidential candidates achieve in one or two terms. Trump certainly has enough under his belt already to run for reelection.

      • He does, although I have my doubts about how serious Kim and Xi are about destroying North Korean nukes he has done more in that area then all of the previous Presidents combined. Right now the thinking people are wondering what he could have accomplished if Congress wasn’t fighting him tooth and nail.

    • Obama got the released by paying blackmail, Trump got them by letting the bad guys know he wasn’t afraid to use force.

    • What a joy to see that little trog get such a spanking in civil court. Sucker punching people is one of the less courageous pastimes there is. Finally, kudos to Rebel Media for squatting on the website bearing his name. Effing brilliant!

      • The little turd is right now trying to figure out how to get out of this mess, but he can’t.

  2. KC Antifa Group Promises to ‘Fight Harder’ After Agitators Arrested in Clash with ‘the Pigs’

Five antifa radicals were arrested in Kansas City on May Day after they clashed with police in an incident the entire local media except for one blogger seems to have missed.

The Red Guards is a Maoist group that has chapters throughout the United States, including Los Angeles, where members on May Day burned an effigy of President Trump and called for “revolutionary violence” against “the capitalist state.” The group identifies as “antifascist” and aims to duplicate in the United States the anarchy and terror Chairman Mao’s Red Guards inflicted on China during the Cultural Revolution of the 1960s and 1970s.

Donning masks, the Red Guards of Kansas City marched in the middle of the street without a permit, burned an American flag, waved communist flags, and carried a large banner honoring five murderous 20th-century communists.

  3. Special Counsel Mueller’s Team Questioned Blackwater Founder Erik Prince
Sources told The Daily Beast that the Blackwater founder spoke with Mueller’s investigators. It is unclear what questions Mueller’s team had or what info Prince shared.

Special counsel Robert Mueller’s team has spoken with Blackwater founder Erik Prince, two sources familiar with the matter tell The Daily Beast. It was not immediately clear what questions Mueller’s team had or what information Prince shared with the special counsel.

Prince attended a now-controversial meeting with the head of Russia’s sovereign wealth fund in the Seychelles on Jan. 11, 2017—just over a week before Inauguration Day. The Washington Post reported that Mueller is interested in potential efforts at the Seychelles meeting to set up a backchannel between the Trump administration and the Kremlin.

  4. Cheney on Threats to U.S.: ‘I Think the Chinese Long-term Are the Most Serious, Have the Most Capability’

In an interview that aired Thursday on Fox Business Network’s “Morning with Maria,” former Vice President Dick Cheney offered an assessment of the current threats to the United States and declared that long-term, China presents the “most serious” threat.

“My concern is, I sense that there are several rising at once,” Cheney said. “We say it’s the Russians, or it’s the Chinese. I think the Chinese long-term are the most serious, have the most capability, and have made some phenomenal gains economically, which they’re now converting to better military capability, and so forth.

  5. Indian army chief warns Kashmir youths violence futile (gulfnews, May 10, 2018)
    https://gulfnews.com/news/asia/india/indian-army-chief-warns-kashmir-youths-violence-futile-1.2219604

“New Delhi: Indian Army Chief General Bipin Rawat on Thursday said that the youth in Kashmir must understand that “azadi” (freedom) was not possible as the security forces would keep fighting those who wanted to secede.

“The Kashmiri youth must not get carried away unnecessarily. Those who tell them that his path will bring ‘azadi’ are misleading them. These numbers of militants who are killed in gun battles with the army don’t matter to me because I know this cycle will continue.

There are fresh recruitments happening,” General Rawat said.

He stressed that militancy was futile, and nothing was going to be achieved by violence.
“You can’t fight the army. I know that the youth are angry. But attacking security forces, throwing stones at us isn’t the way. The security forces don’t enjoy killing but if anyone wants to fight us then we will fight you with all our force,” he said in an interview to the Indian Express.

General Rawat, however, expressed concern at the youth in the Valley picking up guns.

“Young people are getting excited by [Daesh] flags. Do you know what that means? Do you want to Talibanise Kashmir? Do you want Kashmir to turn into such a society? Do you want to live in such a society? These young people do not understand the meaning of it all. Somebody is inciting these young people,” he stated.

The army chief said that people flocking to sites of encounter incited security forces to become more aggressive.

“I don’t understand why people are coming out in huge numbers to disrupt our operations.
Who is inciting them? If they want that the militants aren’t killed, they should go and tell them to come out without their weapons so that nobody is killed. We will halt our operation. We can’t allow people to disrupt our operations and help terrorists to flee,” he stated.

He said he was ready to suspend military operations but needed guarantee that his men would not be attacked.

“Who will guarantee that there won’t be fire at our men, at our vehicles? Who will guarantee that policemen, political workers, our men returning home on leave aren’t attacked, aren’t killed?” he asked.

The army chief said his troops were trying their best to avoid any civilian casualty despite huge provocation.

“Kashmiris have to understand that the security forces in Kashmir have not been so brutal… They use tanks and air power in similar situations,” he said.

Significantly, the army chief said that political representatives from the centre should talk to people in the Valley because the solution had to come from there.

“Right now they are scared that they will be attacked. It will happen once there is calm. And we are hopeful that people will soon realise that all this is futile and start thinking differently,” he said.

He regretted that militancy in Kashmir was taking a toll on development of the state.

“Houseboats and guesthouses are empty. What will those people eat if they don’t earn?

We will have a train connecting the Valley to the rest of the country soon – imagine how it will change the fortunes of people. The apple grower in Sopore can send his apples anywhere in the country without any hassle. People have to recognise this development and be thankful. It has to be a two-way process,” the army chief said.”

  6. UAE adds Iranians to list of terror supporters (gulfnews, May 10, 2018)
    https://gulfnews.com/news/uae/government/uae-adds-iranians-to-list-of-terror-supporters-1.2219686

“The UAE Cabinet on Thursday added nine Iranian individuals and entities to the approved list of terrorism supporters.

The move, which was taken according to the Cabinet decision No.24 of 2018, comes in line with the UAE’s keenness to target and disrupt networks associated with terrorist financing and activities.

Individuals and entities have been added to the list for their involvement in the purchase and transfer of millions of dollars to the Quds Force, a special forces unit of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards, and its agents to finance destabilizing activities in the region by concealing the reason for the funding.

Iranian entities and individuals were included in the list as a result of close cooperation between the UAE and the US, which also included the same individuals and entities on its list…”

  8. 21 ‘takfiris’ killed, five arrested in north and central Sinai: Egyptian Armed Forces (ahram, May 10, 2018)
    http://english.ahram.org.eg/NewsContent/1/64/299206/Egypt/Politics-/-takfiris-killed,-five-arrested-in-north-and-centr.aspx

“The Egyptian army and police have killed 21 takfiris and arrested five others over the past few days in north and central Sinai, the Armed Forces said in a statement.

The Arabic word “takfiri” refers to extremist Sunni Muslims who accuse others of being infidels, often as a justification for using violence against them.

Three of the takfiris were killed in airstrikes, according to the statement, which added that one of the suspects arrested is “extremely dangerous.”

The statement added that 232 criminal suspects were arrested.

Security forces also confiscated and destroyed over 30 vehicles and 49 motorcycles.

The statement said that 391 hideouts filled with weaponry, ammunition and military uniforms were destroyed.

Over the past few days, army engineers safely detonated 21 improvised explosive devices that had been planted in the area of operations.

Security raids also led to the discovery and destruction of 63 marijuana and poppy farms in central Sinai, as well as a number of underground border tunnels and trenches in North Sinai.

The statement issued Thursday by the Egyptian Armed Forces is the 21st communiqué since the launch of Operation Sinai 2018 in early February.

Operation Sinai 2018 was launched “to implement the plan of comprehensive confrontation of terrorist and criminal elements and organisations in north and central Sinai, and in other areas in the Nile Delta and desert areas west of the Nile Valley,” according to the Egyptian Armed Forces.”

  9. Egyptian court places 169 Muslim Brotherhood members on terror list (ahram, May 10, 2018)
    http://english.ahram.org.eg/NewsContent/1/64/299224/Egypt/Politics-/Egyptian-court-places–Muslim-Brotherhood-members-.aspx

“An Egyptian criminal court has placed 169 members of the banned Muslim Brotherhood group on the country’s terror list.

The defendants are facing charges of conspiring to infiltrate state institutions with the aim of overthrowing the regime by force and spreading chaos in the country.

The court’s decision is based on state security investigations, which revealed that the defendants attempted to revive the group’s activities by recruiting new members to its armed wings, spread rumors and provided financial and logistical assistance to the Brotherhood, which was designated a terrorist group in 2013.

Under the country’s anti-terrorism law, any person placed on the terror list is subject to a travel ban and having their assets frozen.

Egypt’s terror list contains over 1,500 names, including top Brotherhood leaders.

The list includes Egypt’s former Islamist president Mohamed Morsi, the group’s supreme guide Mohamed Badie, and the Brotherhood’s deputy supreme guide Mahmoud Ezzat, who fled Egypt in 2013.

The list also includes Ibrahim Mounir, the Brotherhood’s secretary-general in London, who has been convicted of planning attacks in Egypt from abroad.”

  10. U.S., UAE crack down on network for smuggling funds to elite Iran group (reuters, May 10, 2018)
    https://www.reuters.com/article/us-iran-nuclear-usa-sanctions/u-s-uae-crack-down-on-network-for-smuggling-funds-to-elite-iran-group-idUSKBN1IB2I3

“WASHINGTON (Reuters) – The United States imposed sanctions on Thursday against six individuals and three companies it said were funneling millions of dollars to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard’s elite Quds Force, just days after President Donald Trump withdrew from the 2015 Iran nuclear deal.

The Treasury Department, acting with the United Arab Emirates where front companies were located, said it had disrupted the large network’s operations, and accused Iran’s central bank of helping the group access U.S. dollars held in foreign banks to sidestep Western sanctions.

“The Iranian regime and its central bank have abused access to entities in the UAE to acquire U.S. dollars to fund the IRGC-QF’s malign activities, including to fund and arm its regional proxy groups, by concealing the purpose for which the U.S. dollars were acquired,” U.S. Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin said in a statement.

The IRGC is by far Iran’s most powerful security entity and has control over large stakes in Iran’s economy and huge influence in its political system. The Quds Force is an elite unit in charge of the IRGC’s overseas operations.

The six individuals and three entities, including front companies for the IRGC-QF and currency traders, were sanctioned under U.S. regulations targeting specially designated global terrorist suspects and Iranian financial activity, the Treasury said.

The UAE said later it had placed the same companies and people on its list of terrorist and terrorist organizations doing business with the IRGC-QF…”

“(ANSA) – Brescia, May 10 – The father of Sana Cheema, a 25-year-old Brescian of Pakistani origin who died in Pakistan in April, has confessed to murdering the woman, Pakistani media reported on Thursday.

The father, Ghulam Mustafa, an Italian citizen like his daughter, was arrested in Pakistan three weeks ago on suspicion of being behind an honour killing.

An autopsy report, extracts of which ANSA has received, shows that the “neck bone was broken”, suggesting Cheema was strangled. The woman was killed by relatives for refusing an arranged marriage, according to her friends.

Her brother, Adnan Mustafa, and uncle, Mazhar Iqbal, were also arrested. The father, brother and uncle have reportedly been charged with murder and unauthorized burial.

The father and brother risk the death penalty, police inspector Furqan Shahzad told ANSA. Another two people are reportedly involved, the doctor who signed the death certificate and the driver who drove a car to the burial site.

Sana’s cousin was said to be the driver. Cheema, who became an Italian citizen in September after living for years in the northern city of Brescia, had returned to her birth country two months ago where she died of “natural causes”, according to initial reports from Pakistan.

However, members of the Pakistani community in Italy have said she was “killed by her father and brother because she refused an arranged marriage”. Local media outlets also said she had a boyfriend in Brescia.”
