  3. Police are regularly withholding critical evidence in criminal cases where it might undermine their case, and some officers are ‘trained’ in the technique, which could be leading to miscarriages of justice.
The revelation comes after police and the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) were accused of deliberately trying to drive up conviction rates for certain crimes, and London police were forced to review all pending rape cases because of failures.

Over the past six months, a number of high profile rape cases have collapsed, after critical evidence proving the innocence of accused men was withheld from defence teams.

  4. A large number of residents of the heavily-migrant populated Paris areas of La Chapelle, Goutte-d’Or and Barbès have demanded the government act to stop underage Moroccan migrant gangs, with women being routinely targetted for assault.
The petition, which now stands at over 1,600 signatures, asks the local government to provide measures to deal with the gangs of underage Moroccan migrants, typically aged 14 to 17, many of which are addicted to drugs Le Parisien reports.

One resident, named Mireille, claimed that the migrants had targetted her and her 15-year-old daughter saying, “The first time was a Sunday night, I saw three of these young people on the sidewalk and I felt a threat then we turned around, but right after one of them jumped to my daughter’s throat, maybe to get her collar on her, she broke free, started to cry.”

“The next day we filed a complaint, but now I’m no longer quiet in the street, and she either. It is very unfair not to be able to walk freely in this neighbourhood,” she added.

  5. Canada will resettle nearly 2,000 asylum seekers from Israel despite Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s decision to freeze an agreement with the UN refugee agency to relocate thousands of Africans to Western countries.

Hours after he announced a plan on Monday to resettle about half of the approximately 39,000 African asylum seekers to countries including Canada, the Israeli leader put the deal on hold because of a political backlash.

But Canadian and Israeli officials told The Globe and Mail that the Prime Minister’s decision will not affect the resettlement of asylum seekers in Israel who have requested to immigrate to Canada.

Canada quietly approached Israel on its own to take in the refugees, officials say. The Canadian arrangement is separate from the agreement reached Monday between Israel and the United Nations High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR).

  6. A teenage girl has been shot dead in ostensibly gun-free London while a 16-year-old is in critical condition after a separate gun attack less than two miles away amidst a deadly wave of violent crime in the city.
The Metropolitan Police said officers were called to Chalgrove Road, Tottenham, at 9.35pm on Monday where they found a 17-year-old girl with a gunshot wound.

“Despite the best efforts of the [London Ambulance Service], she was pronounced dead at the scene at 10.43pm,” said Scotland Yard.

“Her next of kin are aware and a crime scene is in place. No arrests have been made at this stage.”

The victim was the 37th person to be killed on London’s streets in just two months, and died as a result of rival gang cross fire according to eyewitness testimony on social media, reports the Daily Mail.

    • Always worth posting, Xanthippa. So much of what Bezmenov predicted has come true. Of far greater importance are the, as yet, unimplemented ways he cites of reversing all of this damage. Things are going to get very ugly before they ever get pretty again.

      • Optimist, things are going to get much worse then very ugly before they start getting pretty again.

We (the US) has been decivilized and it will take a long time to rebuild that civilization. Yes the first thing we have to do is to educate the coming generations of the dangers of the Marxist/welfare state. We have to do this while removing the Deep State from power, a task that is going to take the rest Trumps time in office, which hopefully will be a full two terms. This is why I support a Convention of the States, if we don’t use deep surgery to remove the corruption out rebuilding the rule of law in the US will be much longer and bloodier. As you and I have both said we have to hold on to our freedom, we can rebuild civilization but regaining freedom (if lost) is a very different and much more difficult problem.

        • “Our constitution is only fit for a moral and religious people. It is wholly unsuited to the governance of any other kind.”
          (says my Prez, Potus-2)

We need a whole lot more than a Convention.

          • The longest journey begins with one small step. We are going to have the Second American Revolution but as in 1776 it will take one step at a time to bring it about. First the Convention, unless the left starts the revolution before one is held.

        • This is why I support a Convention of the States, if we don’t use deep surgery to remove the corruption … rebuilding the rule of law in the US will be much longer and bloodier.

Richard, just a few months ago, we shared a quality dialogue about the potential dangers of holding a Constitutional Convention. I continue to maintain that a nation which came so close to electing Hillary is nowhere near “healed” enough to tamper with its very doctrinal foundations.

Does this mean that delousing America’s federal government of the Deep State can be accomplished without some serious surgical (or far-less fastidious) procedures? Like yourself, I sincerely doubt it.

All the same, it would be more than a little heartening to see some strong GOP returns during the upcoming mid-term elections. That is a minimum-performance criteria when it comes to loosening up about a Constitutional Convention.

America needs something else far more than it does a Constitutional Convention. And that is, a Third (Fourth, or Fifth) Political Party. Ideally, with all newcomers sharing various flavors of a Constitutionalist plank.

Trump’s entire national platform (and potential reelection) could benefit from a “mini-mandate” being handed to him during this mid-term cycle.

            • The Founding Fathers limited the right to vote to those who owned land. They thought the land owners would be more fearful of the Central Government then those who don’t. To an extent they were right, but I don’t see any way to return to limiting the right to vote to those who love the nation.

          • “He either fears his fate too much,
            Or his desserts are small,
Who dares not put it to the touch,
To win or lose it all!”

            1612 to 1650
Royalist General during the English Civil War

          • At the convention each state gets 1 vote, then 3/4ths of the states must vote to sent the amendment to the States for ratification. Once sent to the states 3/4ths of the States must ratify it before it becomes law. Do you really think that the left will get control of 3/4ths of the states?

            • America – love it or leave it.
              That’s the bottom line.___________

I don’t trust a lot of the voters. I don’t want to pretend “we’re all in this together” – when we’re not.
Dirty deep state, urban wastelands, fights over The Bill of Rights, for heaven sakes!

              Potus-2 is shaking his head.

  7. Mexico announces it is ‘disbanding’ marching ‘caravan’ of immigrants as organizers lash out at ‘bully’ Trump and vow to continue push towards the U.S. border
A Mexican official told BuzzFeed on Monday that they plan to break up the caravan of immigrants marching towards the U.S. by Wednesday
More than 1,000 mostly Honduran immigrants started marching north last week
The group that organized the caravan said many will still head towards the U.S.
On Sunday, a couple hundred men from the group set off on a train, probably to try to get to the U.S. border faster
President Trump complained about the caravan in a series of tweets over the last few days, threatening to pull out of NAFTA if Mexico didn’t do something

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-5574353/Marching-caravan-immigrants-lash-bully-Trump.html

    • It looks like either the Mexican Government woke up to the danger the marchers pose to both nations, or (more probable) the threat of imposing a tax on the money the illegals send home scared them. Without that money Mexico is in trouble, its economy might not collapse if the amount is cut or if the money is cut off but it would cause massive economic disruption.

      • … the threat of imposing a tax on the money the illegals send home scared them.

        POTUS did that?!?

For any people who are unacquainted with the international economic significance of remittances and financial transfers from Foreign Guest Workers, please consider the following statistics:

Overseas Filipinos working abroad numbered slightly more than 6 million (based on 2013 data) while their remittances to the Philippines in 2015 were projected to reach US$29.79 billion, according to the advanced edition of ‘Migration and Remittances Factbook 2016’ produced by the World Bank Group’s Global Partnership on Migration and Development (KNOMAD) initiative.

The KNOMAD report, released in Washington DC late last month, says that the amount of remittances to the Philippines in 2015 was eclipsed only by India, the leading recipient country which received $72 billion, and China, $64 billion.

For reference, Mexico is at $28.7 billion dollars as of 2016. All of which demonstrates just how thoroughly addicted other supposedly “global” economies are to the real financial engines of this world. Wasn’t PEMEX supposed to make Mexico a First World nation?

It will be particularly interesting to see how successful Communist China manages to be in persuading MME (Muslim Middle East) countries to start accepting the yuan as payment for oil shipments.

        • Yes he made the threat, it was in a speech and I don’t think he mentioned a percentage to be taken.

        • It will be particularly interesting to see how successful Communist China manages to be in persuading MME (Muslim Middle East) countries to start accepting the yuan as payment for oil shipments.

Yes it will, and it will be interesting to see if China extents the “New Silk Road” though Pakistan into Iran. Doing this would give them a land route to send weapons of all types to Iran while getting oil in return. They could then turn around and sell that oil to get hard currencies to prop up the Yuan.

  9. However, the UK has been unable to produce any evidence that links Russia to the nerve gas attack. According to France 24 News, the head of the British military facility was forced to admit that they found no evidence to corroborate the anti-Russian conventional wisdom of the West.

The leader of the Porton Down defense laboratory, Gary Aitkenhead said: “We have not identified the precise source, but we have provided the scientific info to government who have then used a number of other sources to piece together the conclusions.”

“It is our job to provide the scientific evidence of what this particular nerve agent is. We identified that it is from this particular family and that it is a military grade, but it is not our job to say where it was manufactured,” he said.

      • It still smells bad, Putin is an evil man but he is smart and assassinating someone he traded to get some of his people back is not a smart move. It makes the rest of the nations distrust his deals, something he doesn’t want. No a Russian Enemy of his doing this to piss off the west makes a lot more sense.

Xiao Qing Li, once an investor-class immigrant, has been deported after using Richmond-based New Can Consultings Ltd., an unlicensed immigration consulting firm, and Wellong International Investments, whose owner Xun “Sunny” Wang received a seven-year prison sentence in October 2015 for committing tax evasion and fraud by creating fake passports for wealthy Chinese nationals.

  11. Venezuela’s former Vice President turned Minister of Education Elías Jaua claimed in remarks this weekend that the country’s depleted supermarkets would be full of food if people did not eat so much.
In a televised speech, Jaua said that, although Venezuela’s malnutrition crisis was a “timely issue,” it had “not at all affected people’s fundamental right to access food.”
“A growing demand and possibilities to acquire food by the Venezuelan people are what has presented a great challenge for our country to produce more and more food every day,” he said. “If the Venezuelan people did not eat, surely the shelves would be full.”
“Thank God there is a Bolivarian Revolution and our people have a right to eat meat, chicken, milk, that they did not have ten, 14 years ago,” he alleged.

    • 2 Students in Elementary School Choir Kneel for Anthem at MLB Game

Two elementary school students kneeled on the field during the pregame national anthem ceremony at a Seattle Mariners game.

A video posted on Twitter by a fan at the game, Louis Penna, showed the two girls kneeling – across from the military honor guard presenting two American flags — as they performed “The Star-Spangled Banner” Saturday with the student choir from Seattle’s Mount View Elementary School.

On “Fox & Friends First” Tuesday, U.S. Army officer and opinion columnist Jeremy Hunt said he believes children are being taught “revisionist history” in schools.

“It’s so incredible just seeing how the story really shows just the cultural divide taking place in our country,” he said.

Hunt said he doesn’t think patriotism is being taught enough to students.

“Even worse than that, [kids] are not being taught the same American history that many [older citizens] were brought up learning,” he said.

The action taken by the students comes nearly two years after former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick sparked a national movement by kneeling in protest during the national anthem before a preseason game.

A photo of the kneeling girls was re-tweeted by Kaepernick.

  13. Richard: The effects of Gun Control, the left never learns from history.

Gun Sales Soar, Set Record in March Amid Push for New Gun-Control Measures
March background checks smash old record by almost 250,000 with over 2.7 million checks

Last month saw the most gun-related background checks run by the Federal Bureau of Investigation of any March on record, documents released by the agency on Tuesday show.

With 2,767,699 checks conducted by the FBI’s National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) in March 2018, the month beats the previous record of 2,523,265 set in March 2016 by 244,434 checks. That represents a 9.68 percent increase.

The March results put 2018 on pace to see more gun-related background checks than 2017, the second-best year on record, but still behind 2016, the best year on record.

The number of checks run through NICS in a month is considered one of the strongest indicators for how well gun sales are doing because each sale made by a federally licensed dealer, such as a gun store, is subject to a check. The state, however, is not an exact representation of gun sales due to a number of factors. For instance, the vast majority of states don’t require checks on the sale of used guns between private parties, some states use the checks in their process for issuing gun-carry permits, and sales of multiple guns during a single transaction by a dealer generally only requires a single background check.

  14. Hungary media squeeze triggers ‘samizdat’ revival

In a media landscape entirely controlled by Prime Minister Viktor Orban’s family, initiatives are trying to get different voices heard.

A collective has formed in the countryside to distribute information with a flyer called “Nyomtass Te Is”, recalling the “samizdat”: the clandestine copying and distribution of literature banned by the countries of the communist bloc.
