  1. Iranian General Wants to ‘Slap West in Face’ With Proof of US-Daesh Cooperation (sputniknews, Mar 4, 2018)
    https://sputniknews.com/middleeast/201803041062208032-soleimani-documents-reportedly-prooving-us-daesh-collusion/

“Major General Qassem Soleimani, senior commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards’ Quds Force, has provided the country’s Foreign Ministry with documents proving US collaboration with Daesh beyond a shadow of a doubt, Iranian media has reported.

Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, special advisor on international affairs to Iran’s speaker of parliament, said he had a meeting with Soleimani and received the evidence while he was working at the foreign ministry.

“He gave me documents and told me to slap them in the face of the West and the UN,” Amir-Abdollahian said, according to Press TV.

Soleimani, commander of the Quds Force, an Iranian special forces unit which has been battling Daesh in Syria, even asked Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif to “put the documents on the table and tell the Americans ‘this is what you are up to’,” Amir-Abdollahian added.

Soleimani’s documents “contained precise information on the geographical position, time and exact details” of US collusion with the terrorists, the official stressed.

For instance, Amir-Abdollahian recalled that while Mosul, Iraq was still under Daesh occupation, “an American A330 [transport plane] landed in Mosul Airport; American generals got off the plane and military equipment was unloaded. At the airport’s VIP lounge, the American generals talked with Daesh leaders in Mosul for three hours and 23 minutes and then boarded the plane and returned. What did they bring Daesh? Weapons and equipment it needed and that they had already agreed on.”

The official also confirmed earlier reports of US helicopters being used to deliver military equipment to senior Daesh commanders, and evacuating captured leaders. “Later, we found out that the Americans had taken some of those evacuated to northern Afghanistan, some to Libya and others to southern Yemen,” he said.

Syrian, Russian and Iranian officials have repeatedly accused the US of shady dealings with Syrian jihadist groups in recent months, charging the US military with evacuating Daesh commanders, and training ex-jihadist militants at the Al Hasakah refugee camp in northeastern Syria.

Last week, Iran’s Foreign Minister charged the US of regularly evacuating militants out of Syria and Iraq. These claims have been echoed by former Afghan President Hamid Karzai, who claimed that Daesh was a “tool” used by Washington in Afghanistan to pursue its broader goals in the region.”

  3. California Dems’ hard-left turn could be the whole party’s future

How far left is the Democratic Party headed? Look to California, where last month’s state party convention went off the deep end.

The first sign of lunacy was the delegates’ refusal to endorse impeccably liberal Sen. Dianne Feinstein.

She lost out by 37 percent to 54 percent to Kevin de Leon, president pro tempore of the state Senate, who promises mainly to be obsessively anti-Trump.

Similarly, the delegates put former Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa last among the party’s four candidates for governor — even though he’s tied in polls of Democratic voters with former San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom, who came out on top at the convention.

Villaraigosa’s sin? As mayor, he supported charter schools and jousted with the teachers unions, rightly calling them “the largest obstacle to creating quality schools.”

  4. Seven Feet Of Snow In Northern California Puts Screeching Halt To State’s Drought

A massive snowstorm Friday in Northern California could bring the state’s lengthy drought to end while leaving two feet of snow in the mountains near Los Angeles.

The Sierra Nevada Mountains has seen two feet of snow and winds gusting over 100 miles per hour. Forecasters are expecting seven feet of snow in some areas of the mountain range. Meanwhile, more than 22,000 Montecito residents evacuated their homes as rain continued to pound the area — California’s weather comes as a nor’easter clobbers parts of the East Coast.

  5. China’s Holdings of U.S. Debt Down 10%

(CNSNews.com) – Chinese holdings of U.S. Treasury securities are 10.0 percent below their peak level which was attained in November 2013, according to data published by the U.S. Treasury.

U.S. government debt held by entities in the People’s Republic of China peaked at $1,316,700,000,000 in November 2013, according to the Treasury.

At that time, the total debt of the federal government was $17,217,151,645,105.86. That debt included both $4,936,025,387,118.78 in “intragovernmental debt,” which is money the Treasury has borrowed out of federal trust funds (such as the Social Security trust funds); and $12,281,126,257,987.08 in debt held by the public, which includes marketable U.S. Treasury securities such as Treasury bills, notes and bonds.

  6. Hand Grenades and Gang Violence Rattle Sweden’s Middle Class

STOCKHOLM — In the Stockholm suburb of Varby Gard, it was not unusual to see the figure of a 63-year-old man pedaling a bicycle home after the end of his shift as an aide for disabled adults, hunched against the icy wind of a Swedish winter.

Daniel Cuevas Zuniga had just finished a night shift on a Sunday last month, and was cycling home with his wife, when he spotted a spherical object lying on the ground, stopped and reached down to take it in his hand.

It was an M-75 hand grenade. Manufactured in great numbers for the Yugoslav national army, and then seized by paramilitaries during the civil war in the 1990s, the grenades are packed with plastic explosives and 3,000 steel balls, well suited for attacks on enemy trenches and bunkers. When Mr. Zuniga touched it, he set off the detonator.

  8. UK: 3 charged in shop blast that killed 5 in Leicester
Al Arabiya (Reuters) March 3, 2018

[Ed. – This happened a week ago, and police rushed out at the time to say it had no link to terrorism. Jihad Watch is dubious about that. It’s worth asking the question whether the police would be more likely to call it terrorism if the perps were NOT obviously Muslims. With three charged and two more being questioned, it’s clearly a conspiracy. It fits the profile of either terrorism or organized crime, but not motive-less punkery.]

British police investigating a shop blast a week ago which killed five people in the central English city of Leicester, said on Saturday they had charged three men with manslaughter and arson with intent to endanger life.

The five died when a blast ripped through a Polish convenience store and a home last Sunday, turning the building into rubble.

Police said in a statement they had charged three men over the case: Aram Kurd, 33, from Leicester, Hawkar Hassan, 32, from Coventry and Arkan Ali, 37, from Oldham

  9. Reminder: Massive foreign spending (by Soros) seems to have worked – for Trudeau in Canada
Monica Showalter, Am. Thinker March 3, 2018

[Ed. – Soros also spent massively to back Hillary in 2016, which technically isn’t “foreign” money, since he’s a naturalized U.S. citizen. But America is far bigger than Canada (population-wise), and in any case had the Trump phenomenon roaring like a freight train. Still, we ignore the impact of Soros money at our peril. It can change things for the worse by focusing — as it’s doing in 2018 — on seizing control of many smaller jurisdictions at the city and county level.]

It’s true that voters get tired of incumbents. But in Canada’s case, and this should be worth noting here, [Trudeau] was elected because of massive foreign funding, from the likes of the rabidly leftwing and secretive Tides Foundation, linked to George Soros and radical environmental movements.

In 2017, the National Post reported that Trudeau got elected after a massive influx of illegal foreign funds, mostly from the U.S.-based leftwing Tides Foundation, writing:

Foreign money funnelled towards Canadian political advocacy groups affected the outcome of the 2015 federal election, according to a document filed last week with Elections Canada and obtained in part by the Calgary Herald.

The 36-page report entitled: Elections Canada Complaint Regarding Foreign Influence in the 2015 Canadian Election, alleges third parties worked with each other, which may have bypassed election spending limits — all of which appears to be in contravention of the Canada Elections Act. …

And the scope of this has brought some bitter consequences to Canada. Trudeau, like the leftists in the U.S., has resisted all efforts at electoral reform, despite campaigning on that platform.

    • It can change things for the worse by focusing — as it’s doing in 2018 — on seizing control of many smaller jurisdictions at the city and county level.

A Soros funded County Prosecutor in Missouri is attacking the Governor and Attorney General. This is what we can expect in every place Soros manages to buy prosecutors who will work to reverse elections because of ideological reasons. Actions by leftists like George Soros are killing the rule of law and Democracy around the world. When we defeat Soros and the left we will discover so much damage done to the rule of law and to our forms of government that it will take a long time to rebuild them to the point that people can trust the law enforcement to do a fair and impartial job.

[Ed. – A couple of men seem to have taken vows — including the event’s sponsor, Peruvian activist Ricardo Torres (now reportedly wed to his eighth arboreal bride) — but the human contingent was mostly women, going by the videos and images. 11. Italian town bakes huge cake to celebrate removal of migrants
Jazz Shaw, Hot Air March 3, 2018

[Ed. – These are the non-P.C. Italians, granted. Jazz Shaw reports that they tend to vote for the Communists and neo-fascists, which in a blue-collar suburb of Milan (northern Italy) would be a familiar pattern. But their local drama is a symptom of the larger revulsion in Italy, and across Europe, against the EU establishment’s unhinged migrant policies, which are wreaking havoc with European daily life. The Italian national election, expected to be all but unintelligible, is tomorrow (Sunday).]

There’s been a rise in nationalist sentiments and a souring of the public mood toward the waves of migrants and refugees, particularly from Libya and Syria, who have been building up in the country.

Those feelings have been on particularly dramatic display in Sesto San Giovanni, just outside of Milan. The town undertook an unusual “celebration” ahead of the elections. They’ve been actively moving to relocate new immigrants out of the area, and after evicting their 200th migrant from the town, they baked a huge cake with the number 200 emblazoned in the frosting and invited everyone to stop by for a slice. …

  12. 5 Troubling Lessons For America From Ancient Rome

The Romans spent almost 500 years as a republic before Julius Caesar’s adopted son Augustus became the first Roman emperor. The Romans moved on from having kings to becoming the first republic, to sliding backward into monarchy and tyranny and it’s not impossible that America will follow a similar trajectory. In fact, if you study Roman history, it’s not hard to see the parallels.

    1) It’s Extremely Dangerous To Introduce Violence Into The Political Process: Tiberius Gracchus was an arrogant Roman Populist who cared little for the niceties of tradition and even less for the opinions of his opponents. He proposed confiscating land from the rich to give to soldiers and poor Romans. This was a terrible policy which helped lead to the fall of the Roman Republic, but unsurprisingly it was quite popular. However, there was quite a bit of resistance to the policy in the Senate and passing legislation of this sort without the approval of the Senate simply wasn’t done in ancient Rome. That is until Tiberius Gracchus found a loophole and did it anyway, earning him the outright hatred of the Senate. Later, a misunderstanding made the members of the Senate believe that their hated enemy was going to overthrow the government and make himself king. They responded to this misunderstanding by surrounding him, ripping the legs off benches and beating him to death. This was the start of a long, violent, slippery slope in Rome as political violence became ever more common. In time, politicians had their own gangs that fought in the street. Senators were knifed on the floor of the Senate and eventually, the leadership of the nation was determined by who could bring the biggest army to Rome. Here in America, we are now starting to see politically-motivated violence. Riots at Berkeley to keep conservatives from speaking. A white supremacist driving his car into the crowd. A Bernie Sanders supporter shooting up a Republican softball game. Protests where the protesters and counter-protesters bring weapons. This goes nowhere good and we would be wise to clamp down hard on this sort of violence before it gets out of hand.

  14. Halal butchers who chanted and danced as they tortured animals walk free from court (express, Mar 4, 2018)
    https://www.express.co.uk/news/uk/926632/halal-butchers-torture-Thirsk-abbattoir-muslim-slaughter

“TWO HALAL slaughtermen who subjected sheep to “extreme suffering” and danced and sang as they hacked at the animals’ throats, have walked free from court.

The two men, who were described to the court as “professionally qualified” to carry out the Islamic method of slaughter were secretly filmed taunting, chanting and dancing around the sheep before putting them through unimaginable pain while still conscious.

Leeds Magistrates’ Court heard the animals were strung up alive as they bled out at the abattoir, near Thirsk, North Yorkshire.

Kabeer Hussain, 44, and Kazam Hussein, 55, were filmed taunting animals, waving knives in front of them and shouting at them.

Magitrates heard some of the sheep could be seen slipping and staggering as blood poured from their necks.

The court was told charity workers at Animal Aid secretly took footage of the accused “hacking and sawing” at animals’ throats, at Bowood Farms abattoir.

Hussain and Hussein received suspended prison sentences yesterday at Leeds Magistrates’ Court after admitting causing unnecessary suffering to animals. Abattoir boss William Woodward was jailed for 20 weeks.

Prosecutor Howard Shaw said Woodward had simply turned a blind eye to the animals’ welfare at his slaughterhouse.

Under strict regulations on halal slaughter animals must be killed with a single, clean cut to the throat and then allowed to lose consciousness for at least 30 seconds before being moved on to the next stage of slaughter in a bid to minimise suffering.

But the secret footage showed the two slaughtermen, both from Bradford, waiting between one and 11 seconds before the animals were sent on to be strung up by their back legs on the processing line, still conscious.

Howard Shaw, prosecuting for the CPS on behalf of Defra, said: “A large number of sheep were caused to suffer unnecessarily.”

Hussain, of Bradford, admitted causing suffering and was sentenced to 16 weeks in jail, suspended for a year.

Hussein, also of Bradford, admitted causing unnecessary suffering and was sentenced to 18 weeks suspended for a year.

The secret footage – which emerged two years ago – sparked a public outcry and this week legislation was put before the Commons that will force all abattoirs to install CCTV.

All abattoirs must be approved by the Food Standards Agency, but the regulatory body does not check whether halal meat is prepared according to religious rules…”

Hyping massive, imminent war between India and China is low-end marketing. This is an old rivalry that has fans, fascinating watchers as a sport.

Border tensions between China and India and Pakistan and India are continuous, punctuated by frequent outbursts of live war. Moreover, all the little countries nearby, like Sri Lanka, flare up periodically and affect constituencies within India.

But the country is so huge, these remain contained. Larger conflagrations are still comparatively regional, not national in scope, given the size and complexity of the nation as a whole. There’s always something going on, something that would become a national catastrophe anywhere else, but that’s self-limited in India.

Separatist movements occasionally rumble into acts of terrorism the rest of the world ignores. Jammu/Kashmir, Sikhs, crazy Mao commies. Not to mention low-grade tribal warfare everywhere. You might say India is always at war – or never completely at peace.

India is indeed re-building its military as it slowly emerges from socialism. For domestic, as much as foreign, security. The “Non-Aligned” movement pretty much perished with the USSR, so it’s been reconfiguring its alliance structure as well.

This dynamic has picked up with PM Modi, the first truly Hindu patriot head of state. Still, he’s got to move very carefully because the country is so complicated, more riven by factionalism than any other country in the world.

Yes, China’s Belt and Road Initiative may pose a threat, but that’s long term and may also offer some opportunities. Their spheres of interests overlap, but their dynamics are entirely distinct. India is far more inner-directed: a democracy that’s vastly diverse must cope with domestic issues.

They also have common allies – including Russia and Iran. That’s unlikely to change very much. Unfortunately.

India is becoming Israel’s BFF. Or parts of it. Or coming out of the closet. It’s complicated.

One of my nieces married a Hindu Indian. His family came here for the weddings – one Western, one Hindu. Kinda exotic even for my family, but they seem nice and have lots of money.

He carried on about French and Italian cuisine and then delivered a backhand to the USA by (almost sarcastically) asking: “So, what is American cuisine?”

I had to wait until the Q&A session afterward but I stood up and suggested to him that American Cuisine would feature items like trout, wild rice, crayfish, bison (buffalo), cloud berries, salmon, venison, oysters, Dungeness crab, and so forth.

He really didn’t have any sort of answer. Nor was he able to specify much in the way of native edible plants being used in his restaurant. Altogether disappointing.

  25. Germany and YouTube try to censor increasing anti-Merkel protests in the country

A large demonstration of ordinary Germans in the town of Kandel took place on Saturday. Even Germany’s state controlled media can no longer hide the number of people taking to the streets to protest against Merkel and her destructive open border policies. Kandel is a symbolic location, as it is the place where a 15-year-old German girl was murdered by an Afghan refugee.

At first German media talked about 1,500 protesters but as the police announced numbers of around 4,500 the tone changed quickly. However, YouTube and even the German police attempted to censor the march.

Many people were live streaming the march to prove that it was peaceful and to counter the mainstream media narrative of it being a “radical right-wing” march. Some of the chants included “Merkel has to leave” “We will not be silenced” and “Those who don’t love Germany need to leave”.

German news outlet Focus called it a march with around 1,500 “rechten”, translated as “right wingers” but the term is mostly used to call people Nazis without using the word.

YouTube even sank so low as to ban a live stream. It was by no means a radical one, but it was simply showing the march as it moved along. YouTube has made it a habit of deleting content they disagree with. Even big channels like Infowars are now up for deletion.

A reporter of RT-Germany and other journalists were even prohibited from filming a violent left-wing counter protest. The journalists claimed that Antifa harassed them and grabbed their cameras.

Instead of helping them, the police told the press they were not allowed to film there and would be arrested if they didn’t move away. This is counter to actual German law, in which it is a right to film at a public place and at a public event.

There was only one altercation and that was when the peaceful protest met left-wing extremists from Antifa. Only two people at the march of over an estimated 4,500 were arrested. The populist AfD party has announced another protest in spring in a bid for new elections, as the socialist SPD party broke another election promise and voted to join Merkel’s grand coalition.

While the establishment parties continue to break their election promises and continue to lose favour as recent polls have shown, the AfD is now polling as the second strongest party in the country with both the socialist SPD and Merkel’s CDU suffering losses.

These polls and demonstrations are a clear sign that the way Angela Merkel has been running the country is no longer to be tolerated. The growing anti-Merkel movement is up and running and it can’t be silenced!
