  1. WaPo: Former Deputy FBI Director About To Be Torched For Misleading Inspector General, Signing Off On ‘Improper Media Disclosure’

Remember Andrew McCabe, the former Deputy Director of the FBI who was forced out last January? Well, there’s a DOJ report that’s about to be released that details how the top FBI official misled investigators and signed off on an ‘improper media disclosure’ that detailed the warring state of affairs between the bureau and the Department of Justice concerning the investigation into the Clinton Foundation (via WaPo):

The Justice Department inspector general is preparing a damaging report on former FBI deputy director Andrew McCabe, alleging he was responsible for approving an improper media disclosure, two people familiar with the matter said. One of the people said McCabe will also be accused of misleading investigators about his actions.

The report is a part of Inspector General Michael Horowitz’s broad review of the FBI and Justice Department’s handling of the investigation into Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email server while she was secretary of state.

During that work, inspector general’s investigators found that McCabe had authorized the disclosure of information to the Wall Street Journal for an October 2016 story that examined feuding inside the FBI and Justice Department around the handling of a separate investigation into Clinton’s family foundation, two people familiar with the case said.

Those probing the matter believe that McCabe, who stepped down in January, misled them when they initially inquired about the subject, though one person familiar with the forthcoming report said McCabe disputes that he intentionally misled investigators.

It is unclear how McCabe is said to have misled investigators.

  2. This Latest Attack Just Shut Down Anti-Gun Activists’ Argument With A Vengeance

Anti-gun activists are attempting to use the “guns kill people” narrative to take guns out of the hands of law-abiding citizens.

They claim if guns were illegal, it would eliminate violence.

But the latest attack in China just silenced the anti-gun narrative and exposed its falsehood.

This is the story liberals don’t want you to see because it completely shuts down their narrative that guns, not people are the problem.

In China, a violent massacre took place leaving dozens dead. Nearly 30 people were killed at the hands of deranged lunatics.

But instead of a gun being fired, it was a knife that did the damage.

  3. Punished for Not Chanting “Death to America, Israel, Britain”

    https://www.gatestoneinstitute.org/11953/punished-chanting-death

One of the most astonishing misconceptions I have come across in the West is the habit that some people — especially many media outlets — have of attempting to trivialize radical Islamists chants such as “Death to America”, “Death to Israel”, and “Death to Britain”. Even government officials tend to reduce these outbursts of hatred from the threats they really are to common banter.

Some of the so-called leftists, as well as agents of the extremist Muslim groups in the West, or spokesmen for the Islamic Republic of Iran, try to explain that these chants do not mean what they say, and what most people probably assume they say. Some sympathizers with extremist Muslims even try to insist that these messages are merely examples of “cultural differences”. The purpose of these sympathizers is seemingly to mislead a vulnerable populace into thinking that they should not worry about those chants or about the open and passionate threats against their communities.

This dumbing-down is especially intriguing because the same people who attempt culturally to explain, justify or minimize the meaning of “Death to America” and “Death to Israel” have never lived under Islamic rule or even studied those fundamentalist states. Yet they take it upon themselves to explain the meaning of these chants as if they know better than the people issuing them.

    • Real simple:

Get in front of a microphone, bullhorn, or even just a high-spot in the village and lead a “Death to America” chant and receive, all expenses paid, a .50 caliber third eye.

  4. Bernie CAUGHT Colluding with Foreigners

    03/02/2018 Daily Caller Andrew Kerr

The Federal Election Commission (FEC) fined Bernie Sanders’ presidential campaign $14,500 for accepting illegal in-kind foreign contributions from the Australian Labor Party (ALP) during the 2016 elections.

The ruling stems from a February 2016, conservative activist group Project Veritas video showing Australian nationals working for the Sanders campaign on the dime of the Australian taxpayer funded ALP.

Republican and former New Hampshire House speaker William O’Brien filed a complaint with the FEC shortly after Project Veritas made the footage public, alleging the ALP had made “prohibited foreign contributions” to the Sanders campaign, according to WMUR.

Always thought a gas explosion didn’t sound plausible considering no one smelled anything nearby.’ Writing on Facebook, Roz Rowett, of Leicester, said: ‘I’ve heard someone was making vodka and it exploded?

  6. Fighting outside Yemeni capital kills 55, wounds dozens (abcnews, Mar 3, 2018)
    http://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/fighting-yemeni-capital-kills-55-wounds-dozens-53486308

“Yemeni medical officials say fighting outside the capital between Shiite rebels and forces loyal to an internationally recognized government has killed more than 55 people on both sides.

The officials said Saturday that the clashes took place in Nihm district, about 30 miles northeast of the rebel-held capital, Sanaa. Dozens were also wounded over the past 24 hours, they added.

They also said fighting killed at least 25 people on both sides along Yemen’s west coast, speaking on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to brief reporters.

The rebels, known as Houthis, seized Sanaa in September 2014 after they drove out the government of President Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi.

A Saudi-led coalition backing Hadi has been fighting to defeat the Iran-backed Houthis since March 2015.”

  8. Bahrain Arrests 116 Suspected Terrorists Linked to Iran’s IRGC (aawsat, Mar 3, 2018)
    https://aawsat.com/english/home/article/1192826/bahrain-arrests-116-suspected-terrorists-linked-iran%E2%80%99s-irgc

“Security authorities in Bahrain arrested on Saturday 116 members of an armed network established and supported by Iran’s Revolutionary Guard, suspected of plotting attacks on Bahraini government officials and security forces.

The interior ministry in Bahrain said in a statement that investigators found sites used by the militants to manufacture and store explosives intended to be used for “terrorist attacks”.

The individuals arrested are suspected of a range of terror crimes, including planning and executing terror attacks as well as manufacturing, storing and transporting explosive devices.

“Comprehensive investigations revealed the suspected terrorists were members of a network formed and supported by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard (IRGC),” the Bahraini ministry statement said.

“The network was planning to target Bahraini officials, members of the security authorities and vital oil installations, with the objective of disturbing public security and harming the national economy,” it said.

The statement said that 48 of the 116 people arrested had received training at IRGC facilities in Iran and their affiliated locations in Iraq and Lebanon.

The items found included explosives materials, automatic weapons, pistols and magnetic bombs and grenades, the statement said.

The investigations also led to the discovery of a number of sites used to manufacture and store explosives intended to be used for terrorist attacks.

The General Directorate of Criminal Investigation and Forensic Science has referred the case to the Public Prosecutor.”

  9. Turkey Presses Ahead With Campaign Targeting Gulen Network (aawsat, Mar 3, 2018)
    https://aawsat.com/english/home/article/1192631/turkey-presses-ahead-campaign-targeting-gulen-network

“Turkish prosecutors ordered the arrest of 154 people including navy officers, teachers and unionists over alleged links to the Islamic preacher accused of orchestrating a 2016 attempted coup, state media said on Friday.

Police launched operations across five provinces to detain 16 naval officers, seven of them serving and nine previously expelled from the armed forces, over links to the US-based cleric Fethullah Gulen, Anadolu news agency reported.

In a separate investigation, the Ankara chief prosecutor’s office ordered the arrest across Turkey of 66 teachers, previously removed from their posts, over links to Gulen’s movement, Anadolu said.

It said 72 officials from a labor union confederation which had been closed under a government decree were also set to be detained in a third probe across more than a dozen provinces.

Gulen, who has lived in self-imposed exile in Pennsylvania since 1999, has denied involvement in the July 2016 failed putsch in which more than 240 people were killed.

Under a crackdown since then, more than 50,000 people have been jailed pending trial over alleged links to Gulen, while 150,000 people have been sacked or suspended from jobs in the military, public and private sectors.

Meanwhile, a Turkish court in the Kurdish city of Sanliurfa sentenced opposition lawmaker Dilek Ocalan to two years and six months in prison after finding her guilty of “terrorist propaganda.”

Ocalan, a member of the pro-Kurdish Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP), is the niece of the imprisoned Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) founder, Abdullah Ocalan.

Kurdistan 24’s Diyarbakir bureau reported that Sanliurfa’s central criminal court, known in Turkey as a heavy penal court, deemed her attendance at a 2016 funeral for fallen PKK fighter Mehmet Yilmaz a crime. Ocalan was not present at the sentencing.

Prosecutors were demanding up to five years in jail for her “behavior during the funeral procession that condoned violent acts by the terrorist organization.”

A speech she delivered in Kurdish while at the funeral was also presented as evidence during the trial.

The same court is also trying MP Osman Baydemir for attending the same funeral, in Sanliurfa’s Viransehir district, and, like Ocalan, for a speech he made while there.

His lawyers said they needed time for defense, an argument the judge approved, postponing his trial.

In a related development, a Turkish court handed an additional jail term to prominent journalist Ahmet Altan for terrorism charges on Wednesday, state media said, two weeks after he was sentenced to life in prison in a case that has drawn international censure of Ankara.

Altan, his brother and four other journalists were sentenced this month for aiding plotters of a 2016 failed coup, charges they deny. The Altan brothers were accused of giving coded messages on a television talk show a day before the coup attempt.

The verdict drew criticism from rights groups and international bodies, including the United Nations. Since the coup more than 50,000 people have been jailed and more than 150,000 sacked or suspended from their jobs.

On Wednesday, a court sentenced Altan to a total of five years and 11 months on two different charges related to an article he wrote for the Haberdar news website, the state-run Anadolu news agency said.

The court ruled the language he used to describe the Kurdish conflict in southeast Turkey – where he wrote of“children” digging trenches to fight Turkish soldiers – attempted to portray the actions of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) as innocent, Anadolu said.

The PKK, considered a terrorist organization by the United States, the European Union and Turkey, has waged a three-decade insurgency in the largely Kurdish southeast.

The court also ruled the same article had insulted Erdogan, Anadolu said. Insulting the president is a crime in Turkey.

Hours after the verdict was announced, Britain’s Guardian newspaper published an open letter signed by 38 Nobel laureates, including Kazuo Ishiguro and J.M. Coetzee, addressed to President Tayyip Erdogan. It described the evidence against the Altan brothers and the four others who were sentenced to life as“insubstantial”.

“All these writers had spent their careers opposing coups and militarism of any sort, and yet were charged with aiding an armed terrorist organization and staging a coup,” it said, calling for their acquittal and Turkey’s return to rule of law.

Altan, a well-known journalist and author who had previously been editor of the now-defunct liberal newspaper Taraf, was detained for some 17 months before his life sentence was handed down this month.

“We will spend the rest of our lives alone in a cell that is three meters long and three meters wide. We will be taken out to see sunlight for one hour a day,” he wrote in a New York Times essay published on Wednesday.

“We will never be pardoned and we will die in a prison cell.””

“A young Afghan man was arrested in Bern on Friday following a bomb threat near the city’s train station and the discovery of “suspicious objects” in a nearby church, local police said.

Shortly after 1:30pm Bern police were informed of a bomb alert at the nearby Holy Spirit church, a police statement said.

Officers were sent to the scene and noticed a man behaving strangely.

“Initial information has identified him as an Afghan man,” police spokesman Ramona Mock told AFP.

The young man was arrested and all those inside the church were allowed to leave, but the area remained closed for several hours, police said.

Two suspicious objects found in the man’s possession were rendered harmless, the police statement added. There was no explosion or any injuries or damage.

  13. Syrian man in Germany appears on air with blood on his face after killing wife

A Syrian refugee residing in Germany took to Facebook Live immediately after killing his wife on Friday, reported German newspapers.

The incident took place in the town of Mühlacker, Baden-Württemberg.

The man, who refers to himself as Abu Marwan, 41, killed his wife, 37, by stabbing her four to five times in the neck, then ran away with one of his children.

Murder is a message to all women

Abu Marwan appeared on his Facebook stream panting and bleeding due to a cut sustained in his hand. Next to him, appeared his son.

Police and public prosecutors in Karlsruhe arrested the killer shortly after he escaped the crime scene.

In a joint statement, the concerned officials said that the couple’s underage daughter was still in the apartment when she informed police about a crime that took place around 4:30 in the afternoon.

German newspapers reported that Abu Marwan has been separated from his wife, who earned custody of their three children.

The man alleged that the victim kicked him out when he attempted to visit her to resolve matters between them and unite the family.

In an attempt to justify the crime, Abu Marwan said that his actions were a message to all women who irritate their husbands saying “this is how you’ll end.” The man and his son urged viewers to share the video.

A local newspaper concerned with Syrian refugees reported that Abu Marwan used to frequently call his ex-wife asking for money.

  15. Former Minister: Italy Must Be Guided in Its ‘Change of Population’ Due to Immigration (breitbart, Mar 3, 2018)
    http://www.breitbart.com/london/2018/03/03/former-minister-italy-must-be-guided-its-change-population-immigration/

“Prior to Italian national elections, the country’s first black cabinet minister told Swiss radio that due to massive immigration, Italy needs to be guided in “the change in the composition of the population” that is the fruit of immigration.

An immigrant herself from the African nation of Congo and Italy’s former minister for integration, Cécile Kyenge said the present situation in Italy is “surreal” because of the level of hostility toward immigration found among several political parties.

Immigration has become “the sole rallying point” of right-wing Italian parties, she said, which stoke a “climate of fear” by focusing on the lack of stability and security in the country.

So during the electoral campaign, she said, few speak about their political programs but “rather of the malaise of the population or rather of the people’s fear and that’s not Italy.”

Kyenge told Swiss radio that countries like Italy, Spain, and Greece have found themselves facing a migrant crisis by themselves, when they should receive greater support from the European Union (EU).

She also said that “racism exists” and Italy needs to be “guided in this change, I can say, this change of population, the change in the composition of the population” brought about by immigration.

As Breitbart News reported in July 2017, Italy is indeed undergoing an unprecedented shift in its demographics as a plummeting birthrate and massive immigration combine to make native Italians an increasingly smaller percentage of Italy’s overall population.

In a study titled “How immigration is changing Italian demographics,” the Centro Machiavelli research institute reported that Italy’s fertility rate is less than half of what it was in 1964, dropping from 2.7 children per woman to just 1.5 children per woman, a figure well below the replacement level of roughly 2.1 children per woman.

In 2017, Italy had more than five million foreigners living as residents, a growth of 25 percent above 2012 levels and a remarkable 270 percent above 2002. At that time, foreigners made up just 2.38 percent of the population, while fifteen years later, the figure has nearly trebled to 8.33 percent of the population.

If current trends continue, the report declared, by 2065, first- and second-generation immigrants will exceed 22 million people, or more than 40 percent of Italy’s total population.

The high concentration of immigrant populations from just a few countries of origin often results in the formation of “closed, homogeneous communities that fail to integrate with their host society,” or “ghettoization,” the report stated, a phenomenon that is increasingly visible in Italy.

In recent years, along with record levels of immigration, Italy has also faced a worrisome trend toward higher emigration, especially of its young people.

In 2016, emigration hit a record high of 157,000 people, another new record for the recent era, leading the president of the Italian Bishops Conference (CEI) to denounce the exodus of Italy’s best and brightest, warning that the loss of talented Italian citizens was “depleting” the country.

Cardinal Angelo Bagnasco tied the high levels of Italian emigration to an ongoing economic crisis that has dried up the jobs market and left many Italians in dire financial straits.

“The official figures speak for themselves,” Bagnasco said, noting Italy’s grim economic statistics.

The cardinal said that the worst fallout from the crisis may well be a drain on Italy’s most precious resource: its citizens, especially the young.

“We are deeply concerned that the patrimony of skillfulness and ingenuity of our people is being forced to emigrate, thus impoverishing the country,” he said.

So whether the immigration issue is being “stoked” by the right or not, it is an objective problem in Italy today, one that weighs heavy in the minds of voters, many of whom do not wish to be “guided” in the transformation of their population.”
