Some rather serious and concerning geopolitical events

1. Muslim groups in Indonesia demands Russian ambassador leave country

Around one hundred Islamic demonstrators under the name of the Indonesia Muslim Organisation protested outside of the Russian Embassy in Jakarta on Thursday, demanding the Russian Ambassador be thrown out of the country over ongoing operations in Eastern Ghouta.

Demonstrators held up banners decrying the military operations in Eastern Ghouta, while chanting for the removal of the Russian Ambassador. Coordinator of the demonstration Ujang Furgon stated, “our Muslim brothers are being slaughtered there in Syria without mercy, we demand that the Indonesian government chucks out the Russian Ambassador, the Iranian Ambassador, and also the Syrian Ambassador from Indonesia.” Furgon also called on Indonesian President Joko Widodo to “send our troops to Syria in order to fight the enemies of God, which are Russia, Iran and the Syrian Government under Bashar al-Assad.”

2. Armenia scraps deal with Turkey designed to normalise relations

YEREVAN (Reuters) – Armenia has scrapped a peace agreement it signed with Turkey in 2009 in a failed attempt to normalise relations between the two countries, the Armenian president’s press service said on Thursday.

Armenia and Turkey signed the landmark peace accord to restore ties and open their shared border after a century of hostility stemming from the World War One mass killing of Armenians by Ottoman forces.

The deal needed parliamentary approval in both countries, but was never ratified, and the Armenian and Turkish governments have since accused each other of trying to change the deal.

3. Russia develops hypersonic missile which they claim is nuclear, and unstoppable.

4. Marine Le Pen charged for posting views the contradict the official narrative on social media.

(This is no small thing. Just like Geert Wilders was convicted in a Dutch court of law for doing the exact job he was elected to do, opposing government policy ad suggesting better ones, Marine is being charged for providing evidence that Islam is a problem for Europe. Notice that first they had to remove he immunity from these charges that were put in place for exactly these reasons.)

5. Official Spokesperson’s response to a query on invitation to Jaspal Atwal

(This is an official Indian Government reaction to Trudeau’s activities in India, and then how he attempted to deflect the reality of those things to the Indian government when he got home.)

February 28, 2018

In response to a query regarding invitation to Jaspal Atwal, the Official Spokesperson Raveesh Kumar said:

“We have seen the recent exchange in the Parliament of Canada regarding two invitations issued to Jaspal Atwal by the Canadian High Commissioner, for functions hosted in honour of the Canadian Prime Minister in India.

Let me categorically state that the Government of India, including the security agencies, had nothing to do with the presence of Jaspal Atwal at the event hosted by the Canadian High Commissioner in Mumbai or the invitation issued to him for the Canadian High Commissioner’s reception in New Delhi. Any suggestion to the contrary is baseless and unacceptable.”

6. China-Indian tensions.

For much more on the Indian, Chinese build up, apparently over a mountainous province that China claims is part of Tibet, and therefore is properly under Chinese control, please look for the comments left by Richard in the Reader’s Links posts over the past week.

Thank you all, who contributed to this and other posts in the past days. Xanthippa, Richard, EB., M., Wrath of Khan, Perfect Child, and so many more I have lost track of at the moment. Again, there are some minor technical and work related issues for the next 10 days or so that are slowing me down a bit and adding layers of complexity to some tasks. But please keep posting links and comments, and personal analysis.

More to come today, but it may slow down a bit in the top part of the website for a bit.

  1. More keeps coming out daily ab out the growing tensions between China and India, India is working hard to build a military and make Naval Treaties that will give them a chance in a long war so they don’t have to use nukes. If, I repeat if this war happens I don’t know if it will turn nuclear or not but this flash point is one of flash points that have a very large (and probably growing) possibly of turning nuclear.
