    • Israel says it destroyed [an] ‘attack tunnel’ that went from Gaza into Israel and Egypt

A slight bit of clarification is required here. After all, the Muslim Middle East’s vast (and forever unexcelled) engineering community contains so many other types of “tunnels” in question. As in:

That Egypto-Gazan, Trans-Suez, “Runnel” which rivals Europe’s multimode Anglo-Frankish 31.35 mile (50.45 km) cross-channel engineering marvel, the “Chunnel”.

Then there’s the “Funnel”, an admittedly surface-based maritime corridor that—regardless of its inappropriate label—manages to sluice innumerable “refugees” across whatever Western Mediterranean reaches there may be, into the hapless and defenseless Southern European ports that have experienced exponential (and utterly mystifying) rises in their rates of violent crime.

This brings us to the “Gunnel” (aka; gunwhale), something that—disregarding whatever lack of underground-bore-related engineering ancestry—too many Muslims do not exhibit much in the way of respect for when it comes to recognizing otherwise well-accepted waterline features of (as they pertain to) seaworthy vessels.

No matter how crucial the ultimate function of these life-saving appurtenances always have been, this unique seafaring paraphernalia remains something of a supreme mystery for all too many of these invaders rapefugees. As in, to such an extent that these swarming parasites continually ignore even the slightest clues about why maritime craft possess such inexplicable structural elements.

This, despite how so many thousands of these invasive spongers constantly perish because of their resolute determination to ignore (and continually disregard) the imperative need for such nautical, safety-related measures that might, otherwise, save their bloody lives.

      Go figure…

Ah, yes. The countless different types of “tunnels” (and whatever other subterranean construction marvels) that so many Muslim engineering geniuses keep constructing or disregarding the essential parameters of, regardless of how often these marvelous innovations get them a one-way ticket to the worm farm.

  1. Bestselling conservative author Matt Margolis has a new book coming out that is already banned on Facebook. Margolis’s first book, The Worst President in History, which detailed the failures of the Obama administration, was an instant hit last fall. Margolis used social media to market his presidential biography to #1 on Amazon. When he tried to market his latest, The Scandalous Presidency of Barack Obama, he was banned from Facebook groups for six days with no explanation. This is the ad Margolis created and posted.

Jerusalem (CNN)Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas appears to have confirmed reports that the Trump administration has earmarked Abu Dis, a town adjacent to Jerusalem, as the capital of a future Palestinian state, during a speech to the PLO Central Council.

“Jerusalem is the eternal capital of the state of Palestine,” Abbas told delegates at a meeting on Sunday called to discuss the United States’ recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. “We are at a critical moment and our future is in danger … we are currently being offered Abu Dis as our capital.”

  3. Gazans exhume disabled man’s body, claim he was killed in riots

Officials in the Gaza Strip exhumed the body of a disabled Gazan man Sunday as part of efforts to prove the man was killed during clashes with IDF soldiers following President Trump’s recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.

“Ibrahim Abu Thurayeh’s body was exhumed this morning for another autopsy to refute Israeli claims that come as an attempt to evade their responsibility for this crime,” Mohammad Al-Najjal, the deputy justice minister in the Hamas-ruled Gaza Strip, told AFP.

Najjal said the authorities in Gaza decided that “in order to refute the occupation’s claims, the bullet in his head must be presented to international parties,” he added.

He said “the results of this autopsy will be presented to international parties including the ICC (International Criminal Court).”

    • @ yucki 🙂

Gee, they took some considerable time to unbury this one; I’m expecting a truly professional Pallywood Presentation on a large scale and wonder if it will include the disabled former terrorist’s farewells from his family the night before his suicide by whoever was ready to send him to his 72 virgins/raisins.

      • My thought was that there would be several post mortum wounds that will be named the cause of death.

        • Richard !!! You would never make it to the FBI (if it’s true what they are saying about this outfit), you are too sharp ! 😉

      • Hi, Rita!
Taking money from Iran and Turkey, they have to prove themselves. Another distraction they can’t afford.

They’ve got real problems. ISIS is muscling in on Hamas, poaching jihadis. They’re not sufficiently competent to kill each other off neatly, they mess up everything.

The tunnel just destroyed would’ve been a monster mass casualty incident. That’s gaslines, routine border crossings of hundreds of tardish civilians, plus Israeli and Egyptian security personnel.

Imagine the splash that would’ve made.
        Location, location, location.

        • Hi again yuki !

          ” Location, location, location”

teehee hehehe, I thought they only used that in OZ real estate 😉

“…They’re not sufficiently competent to kill each other off neatly, they mess up everything….”

Innate incompetence is their only redeeming feature…(result of centuries of inbreeding in the petri dish of Arabia..?)

I found your short video above FASCINATING….is everything really THAT close ? Egypt, Israel….what kind of km distances are we talking there? I once did a thing about the “geographical proportions” of Israel compared to, say Australia etc,, but this little video really makes the tinyness soooo realistic.

          • They’re THAT close.

  4. Saudi Arabia’s richest man thrown in jail, ‘hung upside down and beaten’ in crackdown (express, Jan 15, 2018)
    https://www.express.co.uk/news/world/904707/Saudi-Arabia-Prince-Alwaleed-bin-Talal-jail-Mohammed-bin-Salman-Salman-Bin-Abdulaziz

“SAUDI Arabia’s richest man has been thrown into jail, “hung upside down and beaten” for refusing to pay the Government £728 million as part of an “anti-corruption sweep”, it has been reported.

Prince Alwaleed bin Talal was arrested two months ago as part of the crackdown and moved to restricted quarters at the Riyadh Ritz Carlton Hotel with 200 other princes and top officials.

The Saudi authorities have now transferred the prince along with others to the nation’s highest security prison Al-Ha’ir – located south of Riyadh, according to Al-Araby Al-Jadeed news.

During his detention, Alwaleed is said to have been hung upside down and beaten.

The numbers detained in the Riz-Carlton fell as they gave into demands from Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for restitution payments, but Prince Alwaleed is said to have refused to pay the Government £728million.

Al-Ha’ir prison is the highest security in the Kingdom and sources say nearly 60 detainees were transferred.

Crown Prince Salman came to power last summer and began an “anti-corruption sweep”, arresting members of the royal family as well as influential officials.

Prince Turki Bin Abdullah, a member of the House of Saud, is among one of the detainees.

Earlier this week the Saudi Government seized the Binladen construction group and arrested some of the Bin Laden family, who are relatives of the notorious terrorist Osama Bin Laden.

The Government also took over managerial control and may erase £21 billion in debt it owes to the company, according to Reuters.

The arrest of 200 princes and top officials came as part of his economic reform.

Mohammed bin Salman was appointed as the Crown Prince by his father King Salman Bin Abdulaziz on June 21 last year and named as his father’s successor.

The Crown Prince of Saudi is the second most important position in the country and is only second to the king and is the designated successor.

Recently King Salman took bold action to lift the ban on women driving in the country – a move towards a more liberalised Saudi society.

The king ordered the reform in a royal decree requesting that drivers’ licences be issued to women who wanted them.

Under King Salman Saudi Arabia embraced a more aggressive foreign policy, launching a war in Yemen and severing diplomatic ties with Iran and neighbouring Qatar.

The Crown Prince has invested in Saudi Arabia’s military defences against Iran.

He also tried to strengthen ties with the US and Israel by purging anti-Semitic and anti-US Islamic clerics.”

  5. Baghdad double suicide attack kills many (BBC, Jan 15, 2018)
    http://www.bbc.com/news/world-middle-east-42686677

“At least 16 people have been killed in a double suicide bombing in the Iraqi capital Baghdad, officials say, the second attack in three days.

Dozens more were injured in the attack in Tayaran Square in the city centre.

Baghdad has seen almost daily bombings and armed attacks since so-called Islamic State took over large areas of the country in 2014.

However, the pace of attacks has declined since the militant group’s defeat in December.

The Iraqi interior ministry said the death toll was likely to rise as more bodies were being recovered.

A suicide bomb attack on a checkpoint in the north of the city on Saturday killed at least five people, police said.”

“Sudan announced, Sunday, the arrival of military reinforcements from the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) – a branch of the Army – to the province of Kassala near the border with Eritrea.

The troops were received by State governor, Adam Jamaa, government officials and a large number of citizens, Sudanese News Agency (SUNA) reported. The news agency did not mention the forces numbers.

“The rapid-support forces support the state and provide protection for the borders, economy and society,” Jamaa said, describing the forces as a “striking force and a safety valve to counter any aggression against Sudan” without elaboration.

Jamaa said the province “faces a number of problems including human trafficking and goods and arms smugglers”…”

  7. Afghanistan Unable to Field Army for 6 Months Without US Assistance – President (sputniknews, Jan 15, 2018)
    https://sputniknews.com/asia/201801151060754063-afghanistan-us-support/

“The Afghan army will be unable to operate even for six months without US support, Afghan President Ashraf Ghani said.

“We will not be able to support our army for six months without US support, and US capabilities … Because we don’t have the money,” Ghani told CBS News on Sunday, when asked whether the Afghan government would collapse if the US army left the country.

The Afghan president noted that 21 terrorist organizations were operating in his country.

Afghanistan is currently suffering from an unstable political, social and security issues due to the activity of the Taliban terrorist group and the Islamic State terrorist organization, both outlawed in Russia.”

    • The Afghan army will be unable to operate even for six months without US support, Afghan President Ashraf Ghani said.

Yeah, sure thing, you corrupt piece of Islamic sh!t. No way can Afghanistan possibly do without the needlessly spilled blood from another several hundred or thousand of America’s finest young women and men.

None of which (even remotely) prevents these treacherous, pro-sharia, Afghani allies bastard jerk-wads of traitorous SH!T from seeking to have America’s overseas troops experience intentionally choreographed, lethal IED attacks and Taliban ambushes.

Not to mention the golden opportunity of having this irreplaceable new generation of US warriors undergo a supremely demoralizing experience of seeing their closest compatriots maimed or blown to bits for the sake of perpetuating whatever Politically Correct mindset of hyper-corrupt career Washington DC politicians who could give less than a runny sh!t about the lives of this nation’s finest men and women.

Sidebar: However evil it might seem, it’s at about this time where I begin to experience some sense of sympathy for America’s Vietnam-era troops that simply walked into a village (North or South) and blew away the entire assemblage into smithereens.

Please read Nelson DeMille’s excellent, “Up Country“, for something that remotely approaches an explanation of this .

As a Vietnam Veteran, DeMille evinces a measure of pathos (and, as someone who fought in-country) a justifiable degree of residual hostility.

Afghanistan is currently suffering from an unstable political, social and security issues due to the activity of the Taliban terrorist group and the Islamic State terrorist organization, both outlawed in Russia.”

Please let me know when entire (pro-Taliban) villages and cities are reduced to smoking rubble (that gets bounced a few more times just for gits and shiggles).

Until then, America’s military commanders merely are sending the flower of our nation’s youth into whatever usual meat-grinders that will, soon-enough, see the children and families of these treasonous Pentagon “Generals” end up at the wrong end of whatever hostile public inquisitions.

Even as these over-decorated and feckless brass hats finally discover that Middle America has had fü¢kinq well enough of seeing their precious sons and daughters being sent off to die for whatever stupid partisan cause, they’ll probably remain incapable of understanding that the biggest issue is them tossing these healthy young bodies onto the moronic ideological bonfire.

“Due to high demand among Muslim asylum-seekers wishing to convert to Christianity, “fast-track” baptism procedures have arisen in Finland. In the city of Oulu, a swimming pool has been repurposed for the traditional sacrament.

The Church of Finland has been highly critical of the religious innovation, which was pioneered by parishes that don’t belong to the Evangelical Lutheran Church, but it is powerless to stop it. According to the Church of Finland, converts generally have little understanding of their newfound religion.

“At least five suspected militants were killed in a gunbattle with government troops Monday after they crossed into the Indian-controlled part of Kashmir from the Pakistani side of the disputed territory, officials said.

Fighting began early Monday when soldiers intercepted heavily armed insurgents along the highly militarized de facto border that divides Kashmir between India and Pakistan, said Col. Rajesh Kalia, an Indian army spokesman.

    http://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/us-coalition-230-cadets-recruited-syria-border-force-52351344

“The U.S-led coalition in Syria says it has recruited 230 new cadets for a border security force it’s establishing together with the Syrian Kurdish-led opposition fighters to secure areas recently liberated from Islamic State militants.

The force will be tasked with securing Syria’s northern border with Turkey and the eastern border with Iraq.

The coalition told The Associated Press on Monday that the goal is to have a 30,000-strong force over the next several years. Half of the force will be made up of fighters from the existing Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces.

The SDF currently controls nearly 25 percent of Syria’s territory along the borders with Turkey and Iraq.

Turkey, which considers the main Kurdish militia in Syria an extension of its own insurgent group, has protested the new force.”

“The head of Germany’s elite paramilitary unit says it will be increased by a third and will open a second base due to increased terror threats.

Jerome Fuchs told rbb Inforadio Monday that in addition to the GSG-9’s base near Bonn in western Germany they will add another base, likely in Berlin, “because if you look at comparable terror situations across Europe, often the capitals were affected.”

The secretive GSG-9 unit was created in response to German security services’ failure to prevent the massacre of Israeli athletes at the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich.

It gained international fame with the storming of the Lufthansa jet ‘Landshut’ in Mogadishu, Somalia, in 1977 without any loss of life among the 86 hostages or commandos.

The actual number of the unit’s members is not public but is estimated currently at 400.”

From 2008: SECRET PLOT TO LET 50 MILLION AFRICAN WORKERS INTO EU

“The report, by French MEP Francoise Castex, calls for immigrants to be given legal rights and access to social welfare provision such as benefits.?

Ms Castex said: “It is urgent that member states have a calm approach to immigration. To say ‘yes’, we need immigration … it?is not a new development, we must accept it.”

The proposals include the creation of a “blue card” system, based on the American green card, that provides full working and welfare rights.?

Blue card holders would be entitled to move freely across the EU, setting up home in any of the 27 member states.

    • This man deserves a Nobel Peace Prize. It is only through statements (like his) of such profound, unvarnished truth whereby meaningful human progress can be achieved.

Without this sort of truthfulness and brutal honesty, there is no hope of actual success. Not now … NOT EVER.

When people like this supremely brave individual are internationally recognized for their willingness to speak the truth (screw all of that vomit-worthy SJW, “speaking truth to power”, bull hockey!), perhaps then our world will have a chance of winning the war against Communist, Socialist, and Theocratic EVIL (along with the insanely wicked 1%).

The hook-handed former imam claims he received a phonemail from terrorists in Afghanistan who told him “something big will happen very soon”.

The revelation comes from court documents as the 59-year-old is launching an appeal claiming conditions in the Supermax prison in Colorado, where he is being held, breach his human rights.

Hamza also claims British spies were hacking his phone at the time raising questions as to whether the UK was withholding information from America.

The court documents, seen by The Sunday Times, also reveal Hamza was an agent for MI5 and Special Branch, going by the code name Damson Berry…”

  17. Bitcoin fever hits US real estate market

    MIAMI (AFP) –

Bitcoin fever has hit the US real estate market, especially that of Florida, offering foreign investors a way to dodge currency controls at home and US economic sanctions.

As of the end of last year, the digital currency was listed as a way to pay for some 75 properties for sale, especially in south Florida and California, according to the real estate firm Redfin.

“Bitcoin accepted” is a message now seen in the description of homes for sale in the Miami area.

One seller is going even farther, saying he will take only bitcoin (33 of them to be exact) for his half-million-dollar downtown condo in the Florida metropolis.

Bitcoin has been on a roller coaster ride of late, shooting up to nearly $20,000 a piece in mid-December and then dropping sharply around Christmas. It started the year at around $14,000.

  18. University rejects Chinese Communist Party-linked influence efforts on campus

As part of a broad effort to interfere in U.S. institutions, China tries to shape the discussion at American universities, stifle criticism and influence academic activity by offering funding, often through front organizations closely linked to Beijing.

Now that aspect of Beijing’s foreign influence campaign is beginning to face resistance from academics and lawmakers. A major battle in this nascent campus war played out over the past six months at the University of Texas in Austin.

After a long internal dispute, a high-level investigation and an intervention by Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Tex.), the university last week rejected a proposal by the leader of its new China center to accept money from the China United States Exchange Foundation (CUSEF). The Hong Kong-based foundation and its leader, Tung Chee-hwa, are closely linked to the branch of the Chinese Communist Party that manages influence operations abroad.

  19. Philippines Shuts Down News Site Critical of Duterte
Regulator said Rappler violated foreign-ownership rules

MANILA, Philippines—A popular news website that has been critical of the government of Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte was shut down by the country’s securities regulator, a move the company called harassment.

The nation’s Securities and Exchange Commission said in a statement published on its website Monday that it had found Rappler Inc. liable for violating constitutional requirements on foreign-ownership limits and revoked the company’s certificate of incorporation.

The case against Rappler has been highly contentious in the Philippines, where Mr. Duterte and his supporters have hit out repeatedly against mainstream media companies he says have unfairly covered a bloody war on drugs that has killed thousands of people in the past year and a half.

In an online statement addressed to readers, Rappler said the SEC’s actions were “pure and simple harassment, the seeming coup de grace to the relentless and malicious attacks against us since 2016.” The company said it had been consistently transparent and complied with SEC regulations, submitting requirements “even at the risk of exposing our corporate data to irresponsible hands with an agenda.”

    https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2018/jan/15/britain-quiet-pakistan-assault-free-speech-kidnap-social-media-activists

“In recent times Pakistani social media activists of a liberal, secular persuasion have been abducted by agents of the state, tortured then released after a few weeks. Invariably they then give up the blogging business: they stop criticising the country’s military establishment, or the militant religious groups long backed by the army as proxy warriors.

Last month saw another abduction of a peace activist in Lahore. A Marxist professor was found dead in Karachi yesterday.

And last week, Taha Siddiqui, an outspoken journalist, narrowly escaped the most brazen kidnap attempt yet. He was roughed up, in broad daylight, by several armed men who had stopped the taxi he was travelling in on a busy Islamabad road. It is beyond any reasonable doubt that his attackers were military personnel. The army had already made clear its annoyance with his outspoken journalism.

Britain has had nothing to say about this growing assault on free speech, even when it involved a journalist who contributes to British media outlets, including this one. But there were no public condemnations. Not even the meekest expression of concern.

Readers of the official Twitter feed of the British High Commission, or the personal feed of Thomas Drew, Britain’s top diplomat in the country, will struggle to find mention of Siddiqui, the bloggers or anything else of substance. They will only see a stream of inane babblings about various public relations initiatives promoting Britain and soft news stories about Pakistan.

Unfortunately for liberal bloggers, despised religious minorities and other disfavoured groups, the Foreign Office has deliberately positioned itself as Pakistan’s cheerleader in chief…”

  21. Military Quietly Prepares for a Last Resort: War With North Korea

WASHINGTON — Across the military, officers and troops are quietly preparing for a war they hope will not come.

At Fort Bragg in North Carolina last month, a mix of 48 Apache gunships and Chinook cargo helicopters took off in an exercise that practiced moving troops and equipment under live artillery fire to assault targets. Two days later, in the skies above Nevada, 119 soldiers from the Army’s 82nd Airborne Division parachuted out of C-17 military cargo planes under cover of darkness in an exercise that simulated a foreign invasion.

Next month, at Army posts across the United States, more than 1,000 reserve soldiers will practice how to set up so-called mobilization centers that move military forces overseas in a hurry. And beginning next month with the Winter Olympics in the South Korean town of Pyeongchang, the Pentagon plans to send more Special Operations troops to the Korean Peninsula, an initial step toward what some officials said ultimately could be the formation of a Korea-based task force similar to the types that are fighting in Iraq and Syria. Others said the plan was strictly related to counterterrorism efforts.

  23. The 1917 Centenary: Two geographies
    By J.E. Dyer January 14, 2018

This post in the centenary series is about two map views of the world and the politics of the people who inhabit it.*

The maps are the stars here. For those who want to do additional reading, if you are not already familiar with Mackinder and Spykman, there are links and recommended works incorporated in the text.

(I am omitting broader reference to Alfred Thayer Mahan, the “father of modern sea power,” not because he is unimportant but because, through American preeminence and the march of technology, he effectively ruled the century from 1917 to 2017. Moreover, it is hard to see how he will not continue to do so, given that technology shows no prospect of moving us backward in our perceptions of national need and advantage. Today, we are all Mahanians. The seas are highways now, more than they are barriers; that proposition requires no demonstration anymore. Air space has some of the same quality; outer space may develop it soon, in its own way. But the insights of Mackinder and Spykman still provoke argument and have an especially illuminating relevance for modern geopolitics.)

    • As with all of her articles this one is though provoking, it makes us look at what happened in a new light and thus step to one side and look at current events from a different angle. This is always a good idea because seen from a different angle weaknesses of both sides become obvious and thus you have new attacks and defenses to set up. As she points out President Reagan looks at the Cold War from a different viewpoint and used that to bring about the collapse of the Soviet Union.

So far most of us on the blog look at the strengths of our enemies, both the Islamic Invaders and their allies in the Far East yet both of our enemies have a lot of weaknesses. (Just as we do but most of our weaknesses are internal traitors instead of structural and material weaknesses of our enemies). We have to look at the weaknesses or our enemies and figure out how to use those to our advantage. Something that President Trump is doing with the Dems and doing it brilliantly.

Don’t be afraid to think outside the box because that is probably where the ideas and tactics that will save us are at, outside the box. The inability to think outside the box is a major weakness or all of our enemies, internal and external.

“Free Syrian Army envoys have urged U.S. officials at talks in Washington to resume a suspended CIA program of military aid if it is serious about challenging growing Iranian influence in Syria, according to Syrian opposition figures.

Mustafa Sejari, a senior official in Syria’s mainstream rebel group, said the envoys described to U.S. officials the damaging impact of President Donald Trump’s decision last year to stop equipping and training certain rebel groups.

Trump’s move was driven by a wish to focus on fighting Islamic State militants and to improve relations with Russia, as well as a lack of results from the CIA’s support of the FSA, U.S. officials suggested.

“We endorse President Trump’s statements about the need to confront Iranian hegemony in the region. It is time to turn words into action. Until now on the ground it’s the Iranian militias that are expanding without serious resistance,” Sejari told Reuters by telephone from Washington.

“With every U.S. statement about the need to confront Iran’s influence, Iran has been expanding in Syria while moderate forces that are backed by Washington see aid being dried up and are weakened,” Sejari said.

“We asked for the resumption of aid and explained the dangers of leaving moderate FSA forces without support.”

Sejari said the delegation’s meetings had included members of the U.S. Congress and officials from the White House, and they hoped for sessions with Defense Department and State Department officials as well.

    https://sputniknews.com/analysis/201801151060769153-germany-authorities-migration-issue/

“About 1.5 million refugees have arrived in Germany since 2015, prompting local authorities to allocate huge sums for migration-related issues. Speaking to Sputnik, Professor Bernd Raffelhuschen from the University of Freiburg specifically focused on the long-term costs of pensions and sickness insurance for migrants.

Sputnik: Mr. Raffelhyushen, can you name the approximate state expenditures caused by the inflow of migrants starting in 2015?

Bernd Raffelhuschen: We have yet to define the exact number of refugees who arrived in Germany between 2016 and 2017. But if you just imagine that these people are not highly skilled workers and that some of them are not young, you can clearly understand that during their lifetime, they will pay out far less than they expect to get in the form of social benefits. And the gap between this ranges from 350,000 euros to 450,000 euros per refugee throughout his life.

Sputnik: From 350,000 to 450,000 euros per refugee or migrant – how would you estimate this sum in terms of the entire state?

Bernd Raffelhuschen: The actual cost will stand at almost a trillion euros. But it will be distributed for many years, namely, until the moment when, to put it bluntly, the last migrant dies, turning into a hundred-year old man who will need social care. Each year, 20 billion euro will be spent on migrants [in Germany]…”

  29. Erdogan: we will ‘strangle’ U.S.-backed force in Syria “before it’s even born”

Turkey’s Tayyip Erdogan threatened on Monday to “strangle” a planned 30,000-strong U.S.-backed force in Syria “before it’s even born,” as Washington’s backing for Kurdish fighters drove a wedge into relations with one of its main Middle East allies.

The United States announced its support on Sunday for plans for a “border force” to defend territory held by U.S.-backed, Kurdish-led fighters in northern Syria.

The Syrian government of President Bashar al-Assad responded on Monday by vowing to crush the new force and drive U.S. troops from the country. Assad’s ally Russia called the plans a plot to dismember Syria and place part of it under U.S. control.

But the strongest denunciation came from Erdogan, who has presided as relations between the United States and its biggest Muslim ally within NATO have stretched to the breaking point.

“A country we call an ally is insisting on forming a terror army on our borders,” Erdogan said of the United States in a speech in Ankara. “What can that terror army target but Turkey?”

“Our mission is to strangle it before it’s even born.”

Erdogan said Turkey had completed preparations for an operation in Kurdish-held territory in northern Syria.

The Kurdish-led regions in Syria say they need the border force to protect them against threats from Ankara and Damascus.

“To prevent any attack… there must be a deterrent force that protects the border between our areas and the others,” Fawza Youssef, a senior Kurdish politician, told Reuters.

“Until a political settlement is reached in Syria, these areas need protection. Now, there aren’t any guarantees,” she said.

The United States has led an international coalition using air strikes and special forces troops to aid fighters on the ground battling Islamic State militants in Syria since 2014. It has about 2,000 troops on the ground in Syria.

The U.S. intervention has taken place on the periphery of a near seven-year civil war that has killed hundreds of thousands of people and driven more than 11 million from their homes.

Islamic State was effectively defeated last year, but Washington says its troops are prepared to stay to make sure the Islamist militant group cannot return.[…]

    • Turkey: Erdogan lambasts US ‘terror army’ plan

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan slammed the United States for “establishing a terror army along our borders against all of our warnings,” speaking in Ankara on Monday, in response to Washington’s announcement to form a 30,000-person security force along the Syrian borders with Turkey and Iraq.

“A country which is called an ally is insisting on establishing a terror army along our borders against all of our warnings, objections and positive suggestions. Would a terror establishment which is created along the borders of Turkey target anything else but Turkey?” Erdogan said of the force, which will be primarily formed of fighters of the US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).

He added that Turkey “would be happy if the US leaves equivocation and articulate its intentions openly.”

“No offence but, no matter who and whatever you are Democratic Union Party (PYD), YPG (People’s Protection Units), Islamic State – doesn’t matter, come altogether, we will breath down your neck. There is no other way, “Erdogan went on to say.

The Turkish leader also touched upon impending military operations in Syria’s Afrin and Manbij regions, stating that “the Turkish armed forces “will sort this matter in the shortest period. The campaign would start in any minute.”

Wistfully writing that Soros’s Open Society Foundations (OSF) once ‘epitomised the optimism about the spread of Western-style democracy’ after the fall of the Soviet Union, the Financial Times described the scrutiny the global progressive body is experiencing amidst a wave of patriotism and populism and the ‘wilting’ attraction of the leftist agenda.

Soros, alluding to the collapse of the USSR, told the left-liberal newspaper: “It’s déjà vu all over again with one big change — the dominant ideology in the world now is nationalism… It’s the EU that’s the institution that’s on the verge of a breakdown…”

  31. Toronto Police Say Hijab-Cutting Incident Didn’t Happen

    The investigation is now closed.

A Toronto police investigation has concluded that an incident reported by an 11-year-old girl who claimed her hijab was cut by a scissors-wielding man as she walked to school did not happen.

The alleged incident, which was reported on Friday, made international headlines and drew public condemnation from Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, Ontario’s premier and Toronto’s mayor.

On Monday, police said their investigation had concluded, with no charges laid and no consequences for the girl.

“These allegations were extremely serious and not surprisingly, they received national and international attention,” police spokesman Mark Pugash said in an interview. “We investigated, we put together a significant amount of evidence and we came to the conclusion that what was described did not happen.”

Pugash said police don’t know how the story escalated and he’s not sure it’s their job to speculate why.

He stressed that it’s “very unusual” for someone to make false allegations of this type and said he hopes it will not discourage others from coming forward.

The Grade 6 student had said she was walking to Pauline Johnson Junior Public School with her younger brother when a man came up behind her, pulled off her jacket hood, and started cutting the bottom of her hijab.

She had said the man ran off but returned a short time later and once again started cutting her hijab from behind. The girl said that when she turned to confront him, the man smiled and ran away.

The Toronto District School Board said at the time that it was offering support to the girl and her family, as well as other students.

On Monday, a spokesman for the board said only that they were “very thankful that this assault did not in fact happen.”

    • CBC – Reported hijab attack on 11-year-old girl ‘did not happen,’ Toronto police say

Police previously said they were treating case as a possible hate crime

An 11-year-old girl’s report last week that a man tried to cut off her hijab as she walked to school didn’t occur, Toronto police said Monday.

“After a detailed investigation, police have determined that the events described in the original news release did not happen,” police said in a release.

      “The investigation is concluded.”

The girl reported Friday that a man attempted twice to cut off her hijab as she walked to school with her younger brother. Police said last week that the alleged attack was being investigated as a possible hate crime.

The girl, along with her mother and representatives from the Toronto District School Board, attended a news conference inside her school Friday during which she detailed the alleged attack for media.

Her story captured national attention and drew public condemnation from Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne and Toronto Mayor John Tory.

“These allegations were extremely serious and not surprisingly, they received national and international attention,” police spokesman Mark Pugash said in an interview.

Police told CBC News that a team of investigators conducted numerous interviews throughout the probe, adding that the girl who reported the incident will not face any legal consequences.

Pugash said police don’t know how the story escalated. He stressed that it’s “very unusual” for someone to make false allegations of this type and said he hopes it will not discourage others from coming forward.

In a brief statement, the school board said it is “very thankful that this assault did not in fact happen.

      “We won’t be commenting further.”

Amira Elghawaby, a human rights advocate based in Ottawa, said she was saddened to learn that the girl’s story was not true, adding that it will likely only serve to embolden “those who do hold discriminatory views of Muslims.”

She also stressed that, as an 11-year-old, “she probably doesn’t really understand the full implications of what she’s done” and deserves compassion from adults.

“Hindsight is 20/20 and I’m sure the police and the school and everyone will be reviewing how this was addressed. And we, as community members, all we want to do is think about this young girl — give her support — we don’t want her to be vilified,” Elghawaby said.

“And we do deal with real issues of hate and discrimination too frequently in our society and we must continue to address that.”

  35. The Quran Says Jerusalem Belongs to the Jews

    by Saied Shoaaib
    January 15, 2018 at 4:30 am

    https://www.gatestoneinstitute.org/11680/quran-jerusalem-jews

ollowing U.S. President Donald Trump’s December 6 official recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital, Muslims around the world held angry demonstrations, during which they chanted slogans about Jerusalem “belonging to Muslims.” This ought to seem odd to anyone versed in Islamic scripture, since the Quran specifically states that God promised the land of Israel, including Jerusalem, to the Jews.

Although ordinary Muslims who might not actually have read their holy book could be excused for their ignorance about the Jewish roots of and rights to Israel and Jerusalem, the same cannot be said for the leaders of Muslim countries, imams and the heads of illustrious Islamic institutions. Dignitaries and scholars of that caliber should know better. Yet many of them repeat false assertions that contradict the Quran and scholarly interpretations of its verses.

The fact is that the Quran does not mention Jerusalem or Palestine. It does refer to the sanctity of other holy places, such as Mecca — which is called the “Mother of Cities” — where the Prophet Muhammad was born and where the house of God was built by Abraham, the “father of the prophets.”

    • I can’t find it now, but I read translated Arab editorials the other day. Discussion: What’s with this “red-line Jerusalem” bit?

(Rumor has it that PT’s “secret peace deal” proposes Abu Dis, where offices already exist. [Arab rumor? Feelers?])

It’s a suburb of Jerusalem – a mile and a half from the courtyard of al-Aqsa! Abu Dis would be perfectly fine as the capital for a Palestinian state. But that’s not good enough for the world’s most pampered, entitled “refugees”!

In fact Ramallah would be even better. It’s the current de facto capital of the Palestinian Authority. So what’s the big deal?

Discussion concludes: It’s all temporary, anyway. Someday – insha’allah – the world will belong to the ummah. Meanwhile sign a treaty, use whatever you can get as a base of operations against the eternal enemy. And STFU.
      …….

These writers detest Israel, but they’re sick of the charade and have their own problems.

What’s left unsaid here is that when the Soviet Union helped Arafat cook up the PLO, “Palestinian” was still just a generic Mohammadan Arab. (Like a “Rohingya” is a generic Mohammadan Bengali.)

The Palestinian state would be born on the ruins of the “Zionist entity”. Their flag – flown by every Western progressive worth his salt – is the map of that malign fantasy. Their obscene battlecry:

From the river, to the sea
      Palestine will be free.

      That’s the sticking point.

And the Western left is more wedded to it than the tards in the region. It’s the dynamic duo of tards and communists that ignited unhinged responses to PT’s statement.

  36. Iran: Anatomy of a National Revolt

    by Amir Taheri
    January 15, 2018 at 4:00 am

    https://www.gatestoneinstitute.org/11747/iran-national-revolt

With its flames declining after days of high blaze, the “events” that shook Iran in December and early January are still attracting a tsunami of comment, speculation and, as always in such cases, misrepresentation.

The first question is what should we call what happened.

The term “events” is too anodyne and the term “revolution” too hyperbolic to do the job. The Khomeinist leadership in Tehran started by using the term “disturbances” (“eghteshashat”) as if we were dealing with a stampede in a bazaar or a crowd crash in a Spanish bullfight arena. When it became clear that “disturbances” in some 100 cities couldn’t be dismissed in so cavalier a manner, the Khomeinist authorities went for their fallback position of blaming foreign conspirators for the whole thing.

Thus, state propaganda gave us the term “conspiracy” (“to-teheh”) with a colorful cast of characters supposedly involved. These included US President Donald Trump, British Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson, the Barzani clique in Iraqi Kurdistan, a brother-in-law of Saddam Hussein, a cousin of Afghan President Ashraf Ghani and a retired CIA spook converted to the “wrong kind of Islam”.

Within days, however, the Khomeinist tune had become laughable.

  37. Joshua Boyle speaks during brief court appearance

OTTAWA — Joshua Boyle, the former hostage who is facing 15 criminal charges, spoke during a brief court appearance Monday morning, saying he had “no idea” what’s happening with his case, as it was put off again to Jan. 26.

Boyle, 34, has yet to have a bail hearing, and has not entered a plea. The Crown and Boyle’s defence have a pre-trial meeting scheduled for Jan 24th, and Boyle is due back in court two days later.

When the judge asked Boyle if he understood what was going on, he replied: “I have no idea,” appearing frustrated.

He has been in police custody since Jan. 1, when he was charged with eight counts of assault, two counts of sexual assault and two counts of unlawful confinement. He also faces one count each of misleading police to “divert suspicion from himself,” uttering a death threat, and administering a noxious substance, namely Trazodone.

The former captive of the Taliban-linked Haqqani network has made a few brief court appearances since his arrest, via video from the Ottawa-Carleton Detention Centre.

There is a publication ban in place which prevents publication of any information that could identify the alleged victims or witnesses. A second publication ban covers the information presented at the bail hearing. None of the charges have been proven in court.

Former hostage Joshua Boyle to spend at least another week and a half in custody

OTTAWA (NEWS 1130) – Former hostage Joshua Boyle is going to spend at least another week and a half in custody, following another court appearance this morning in Ottawa.

Boyle is facing 15 charges including assault, sexual assault, and unlawful confinement.

Appearing via videolink from the detention centre, Joshua Boyle wore an orange correctional jumpsuit during this brief hearing. His lawyer and the Crown agreed to hold a meeting mid next week, with a pre-trial hearing being set for Friday, January 26.

At one point, the judge today asked Boyle if he understood what was going on.

He replied “I have no idea.”

It was explained to him and he just said “Okay.”

Boyle has yet to enter a plea to the charges and has yet to have a bail hearing.

Due to a publication ban, we are not allowed to identify the two victims in this case or report any details that could.

All of the alleged offences occurred after Boyle was rescued and returned to Canada along with his wife and three children. They had spent five years as hostages of a Taliban linked group in Afghanistan.

Even the lackadaisical response of MP police, in a BJP-ruled state, wherein one police station lodged the complaint only to transfer it citing jurisdictional rules, shows the utter apathy that has gripped our body politic on this vital issue. It would not come as a surprise if the case just petered out in a few months, with the accused going scot-free after some token time in jail, if at all.
