  1. UK: Mothers react to Britain’s top primary school hijab ban

Mothers of pupils attending Britain’s ‘top’ primary school in Newham, East London, reacted on Monday to the school’s decision to ban the hijab for girls under the age of eight.

St. Stephen’s primary school, which topped an annual primary schools league table published by ‘The Sunday Times’ last year, announced it was also planning to ban fasting on school property during the month of Ramadan, when many pupils may have to sit summer exams.

One mother criticised the school’s decision as something that “totally contradicts the statement of the school that they are teaching our children to become respectful citizens.” “If we want to live together peacefully we need to respect each other, and the stance that is being adopted by the school I feel is very disrespectful to the Muslim community,” she added.

One mother who defended the school’s provision said she believed that if one child wore the hijab it would “affect the other children and parents are going to maybe force the other children to do it as well.” She then added that eight was too young of an age for girls to be wearing a hijab.

According to the UK’s Department for Education guidelines, uniform policy falls under the competencies of individual head-teachers and of their governing bodies. Arif Qawi, chairman of governors at St. Stephen’s, reportedly called on the Department for Education to “step up” and take the issue out of the school’s hands.

  2. Telling the Truth About the ‘Hole’
    Making immigration great again.
    January 15, 2018
    Daniel Greenfiel

12,513 Afghans became permanent residents in ’16. Their country is in the middle of an endless civil war between the Islamic terrorists who hate us and the Islamic terrorists who really, really hate us.

Only 31% of the population of Afghanistan can read. Around 1,000 of the Afghans we took in have jobs. 8,190 don’t have jobs. 3,158 are marked as unknown. That’s an 8% employment rate.

The left has been shrieking that wrapping up Temporary Protected Status for aliens from El Salvador will wreak havoc on our businesses and economy. In ’16, we took in 23,449 Salvadorans. Around 3,000 have jobs. The other 20,000 don’t seem to.

Before TPS ended for El Salvador, it ended for Haiti. 23,584 Haitians became permanent residents in ’16. Haiti is a permanent disaster. So are its immigrants. Only 2,691 or 11% are employed.

And in ’16, we also took in 5,159 residents from France. 40% of them are working.

  3. DACA Probably Dead, Trump Says
DREAMers not getting relief because of Democrat obstinacy.
    January 15, 2018
    Matthew Vadum

President Obama’s program that shields the so-called DREAMers from deportation is “probably dead” President Trump declared yesterday after a drama-filled week of high-stakes negotiations on immigration reform.

Congressional Democrats have been trying to blackmail the president, offering to swap border security funding for protecting approximately 700,000 Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) claimants. Although Democrats are continuing to threaten to force a government shutdown in days unless an agreement protecting those benefitting from the constitutionally dubious DACA program is reached, “Democrats don’t really want” to resolve the issue, Trump tweeted Sunday morning.

Minutes later he added, “I, as President, want people coming into our Country who are going to help us become strong and great again, people coming in through a system based on MERIT. No more Lotteries! #AMERICA FIRST.”

DREAMers, by the way, are the stuff of leftist myth. The misleading sobriquet comes from the DREAM (Development, Relief, and Education for Alien Minors) Act, a legislative proposal to grant underage illegals immigration amnesty. The conceit was invented to promote the illegal immigration Democrats need to win elections. They’re not the rock stars or rocket scientists people like DNC chief Tom Perez claim. Despite being sacred cows for progressives, DREAMers tend to be less educated and less established than typical Americans. Many can barely speak English and have little in the way of future prospects.

  4. France: Protest-picnic as Beaucaire mayor bans pork-free school meals

Dozens of residents of the French town Beaucaire organised a picnic in front of Town Hall on Monday, protesting against a pork-free meal ban in the school canteens introduced by the mayor, Julien Sanchez, who is a member of the right-wing ‘National Front’.

Director of the anti-racist association and rally participant, Laure Tandelet stated that her organisation “has alerted to the suppression of the menus of substitution by social networks”. She explained that Sanchez “has decided to impose pork every Monday in the canteens of Beaucaire

and it is discriminatory and breaks the principle of republican equality”.

According to Sanchez, alternatives to pork in the canteens for religious reasons do not meet principles of the French Republic. The ban is expected to disturb about 150 Muslim pupils, local media reports.

  5. Exposed FBI Agent Now Being Investigated for Leaking to the Media

Lawmakers in both the House and the Senate are currently investigating FBI Agent Peter Strzok and his girlfriend, FBI lawyer Lisa Page, for new texts that have come to light proving that they weren’t just biased against Donald Trump – they may have also been leaking information about the Russian collusion investigation to the news media.

    From The Hill:

In one string of text messages just five days before Election Day 2016, Page, the lawyer, alerted Strzok, the counterintelligence agent, to a story in The Washington Post about a timeline in the controversial Hillary Clinton email investigation.

Page mentions a conversation she had just had with FBI chief of staff James Rybicki and openly expressed concern the information about the FBI’s timeline was too specific for comfort in the article.

“Sorry, Rybicki called. Time line article in the post (sic) is super specific and not good. Doesn’t make sense because I didn’t have specific information to give.”

A few days earlier Strzok texted Page about another new article, suggesting it was anti-FBI. “Yep, the whole tone is anti-Bu. Just a tiny bit from us,” he wrote.

  6. Shitholes and Double Standards
Why the Left’s outrage over Trump’s language is bogus.
    January 15, 2018
    Lloyd Billingsley

During the 2016 election campaign, candidate Trump said he would “bomb the shit out of ISIS,” and few Democrats objected as the victorious president fulfilled his promise. On the other hand, the president’s recent reference to “shit-hole” countries launched a tide of outrage that turns out to be rather selective.

Consider this phrase, for example: “Motherf—er’s never happy.” Could that be Trump on one of his favorite fake news anchors, Robert Mueller, or maybe “Rocket Man” Kim Jong-un?

Actually the speaker is POTUS 44, formerly known as Barry Soetoro. As his “narrator” David Axelrod describes it in Believer, the never happy “motherf—er” was speech coach Michael Shaheen. So readers might wonder what the president said about those less than worshipful of his plan to transform the United States into Soviet Americastan.

As Pulitzer Prize winner David Garrow has it in Rising Star, POTUS 44 called a fellow Illinois politician a “motherf—er,” and even threatened to kick his ass. It remains unclear if he did any kicking.

  7. Senator Flake is Just Like Stalin
    January 15, 2018
    Daniel Greenfield

This week in an outburst of egregious political stupidity, Senator Flake decided to compare Trump to Stalin.

Sen. Jeff Flake (R-Ariz.) said Sunday that President Donald Trump’s declaration that media is “the enemy of the people” is a throwback to Josef Stalin that should have no place in political discourse.

“I’m saying he borrowed that phrase,” Flake told MSNBC’s Kasie Hunt of Trump’s choice of words. “It was popularized by Josef Stalin, used by Mao as well — enemy of the people. It should be noted that Nikita Khrushchev who followed Stalin, forbade its use, saying that was too loaded and that it maligned a whole group or class of people, and it shouldn’t be done.

“I don’t think that we should be using a phrase that’s been rejected as too loaded by a Soviet dictator.”

So Flake’s working theory is that Trump had read the works of Stalin and Mao. And decided to borrow one particular phrase. A phrase that had never before been used in the past.

  8. Academia’s Racism-Industrial-Complex
A college education now is all about “dismantling whiteness.”
    January 15, 2018
    Jack Kerwick

Some recent examples from the world of Higher Education make the point that I’ve been at pains to impress upon readers, namely that for as sprawling as is the Academic-Industrial-Complex (AIC), it is essentially a function of an even more expansive Racism-Industrial-Complex (RIC).

[1] There’s Brooklyn College’s Laurie Rubel, professor of math education. According to the student journalists who run the college watchdog publication Campus Reform, Rubel wrote an article for the Journal of Urban Mathematics Education in which she contends that the concepts of “meritocracy” and “color-blindness” are both “tool(s) of whiteness.”

The problem with meritocracy, Rubel asserts, is that it “ignores systemic barriers and institutional structures that prevent opportunity and success.”

As for color-blindness, Rubel remarks: “Teachers who claim color-blindness—that is, they claim not to notice the race of their students—are, in effect, refusing to acknowledge the impact of enduring racial stratification on students and their families.”

    • USA: Hundreds protest racism following Trump’s ‘shithole countries’ comment

Hundreds rallied against racism marking Martin Luther King Day at New York City’s Times Square, on Monday, following US President Donald Trump’s alleged definition of Haiti, El Salvador and African countries as “shithole countries.”

Many of the protesters present were members of the Haitian community waving Haitian flags and holding placards reading “Trump make America hate again” and “Build bridges not walls.”

Addressing the protesters, Haitian community leader Mathew Eugene stated, “Today as we celebrate the legacy of a champion for justice Dr Martin Luther King, it is very important that we come together to condemn the word of the President and ask for respect and dignity for Haitian, African and immigrants.”

Trump sparked international controversy following reports that he referred to Haiti, El Salvador and African countries using the phrase “shithole countries” during a meeting on immigration in the Oval Office last Thursday. The US President proceeded to tell a journalist “I’m the least racist person you’ve ever interviewed” on Sunday.

Things are building to a major explosion all over the world.
