  1. Egypt executes 4 convicted militants over 2015 attack (abcnews, Jan 2, 2018)
    http://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/egypt-executes-islamic-militants-2015-attack-52092846

“Egypt on Tuesday executed four alleged Islamic militants following their conviction by a military tribunal in the killing of three military academy students in a 2015 bomb attack that wounded six others.

The attack took place outside a stadium in the Nile Delta city of Kafr el-Sheikh as the military cadets were waiting for a bus to take them to the academy.

Egypt has struggled to combat an Islamic State-led insurgency based in the northern Sinai Peninsula that has claimed attacks across the country in recent years.

Tuesday’s executions at a prison in the Mediterranean port city of Alexandria bring to 19 the number of convicted militants executed over the past week.

Authorities executed 15 militants on Dec. 26 after a military court convicted and sentenced them to death over a 2013 attack on a military checkpoint in the Sinai Peninsula. An officer and eight soldiers were killed in that attack.

Six militants were hanged in a separate terror case in 2015 after being convicted by a military tribunal.

Rights groups say the legal process is flawed. They decried last month’s executions, arguing that at least one of the 15 was tortured in detention and that relatives were not allowed to see them on the day of their execution in accordance with regulations covering capital punishment…”

  3. Germany migrants: Doctors oppose asylum seeker age tests (BBC, Jan 2, 2018)

“German doctors have spoken out against proposals for young asylum seekers to undergo mandatory medical tests to ascertain their age.

The German Medical Association (Bundesärztekammer) said the checks were ethically wrong and unreliable.

Conservative politicians have called for tests such as X-rays to make sure young migrants are not lying about being under 18 to avoid deportation…”

    • These days to mention ethics ,in the same breath as doctors has to be the best joke so far this year.csi and all archeologists have no trouble in ascertaining the age of their john does,it must be the germans finer sensibilities.

    • Interesting, I wonder if Kim’s statement that he will talk to the US is because of this. I also doubt that Trump is willing to let Kim keep his 20 warheads or his nuclear enrichment equipment, there is too much chance that Kim will sell the material/warheads/re-entry vehicles/missiles to another rogue regime or to some terror group.

The report that China is deploying artillery units to their Korean Border seems to be saying they don’t think the US will let Kim keep his warheads. They seem to be setting up defense positions along the border to prevent the US and South Kora from going on into China. We need to stop 5 or 10 miles from the border and establish a small buffer zone to keep China happy.

    • Secret Document Reveals China Covertly Offering Missiles, Increased Aid to North Korea

Yet one more excellent reason for America to economically boycott Communist China until they cap Kim Jong Un’s expansive glutes permanently denuclearize North Korea

Nothing will change until Red China begins to feel the pain that they’ve caused for everyone else. NOTHING.

      • Trump is talking about stopping our funding to Pakistan, that will mean that China will have to step in with that money. This is money China doesn’t have, this is a form of economic war that will really hurt China and possibly accelerate its collapse. Same thing with our stopping funding the Palestinians, Europe, Russia and China will have to step in with money. As well as the richer oil states, assuming the Iranian revolution succeeds.

As I said you fight wars with money as well as guns, we finally have a President who understands this.

  4. Deutsche Welle – German doctors reject mandatory age tests for asylum seekers

The German Medical Association has said mandatory age tests for refugees are ethically wrong and imprecise. Calls to enforce testing have intensified after a teenage girl was killed, allegedly by a young Afghan refugee.

The German Medical Association (Bundesärztekammer) said in a statement on Monday that the introduction of a mandatory age test for refugees would be an “intrusion of the person’s physical integrity.”

“The association has considerable reservations about it,” the association’s president Frank Ulrich Montgomery, said.

“If you were to do this with every refugee it would be an interference in their human welfare,” Montgomery told the German daily newspaper Süddeutsche Zeitung in its Tuesday edition.

The association said such tests also have a large margin of error. It has voiced strong criticism in the past.

    From voluntary to mandatory?

The tests have to date been voluntary and can be requested by asylum seekers or refugees who want to prove their age and also by the authorities. But the use of X-rays in age determination is now mandatory only in criminal cases.

Hamburg and Berlin have used the voluntary tests for several years and the tests were rolled out across Germany in late 2016.

The method is known as roentgen arthroscopy, in which doctors assess a young person’s age by checking their physical appearance, their teeth and also, if needed, by X-raying hand bones or the clavicle.

Many young people seeking refuge often arrive in Germany without parents and their access to housing and support depends on whether they are legally a child or an adult.

Young asylum seekers and refugees who are found to be 18 or under are taken into youth accommodation and given a legal guardian. They receive financial and other support, they go to school and could eventually gain the right to bring their parents to Germany.

The number of migrants, asylum seekers and refugees coming to Germany dropped sharply last year, but the proportion of unaccompanied children among them rose, according to the Federal Agency for Migration and Refugees, BAMF.

Kandel stabbing promts renewed calls for testing

Several politicians have been calling for mandatory age testing to be introduced following the fatal knife attack on a 15-year-old girl in the town of Kandel, Rhineland-Palatinate in south-west Germany last week,

The suspected perpetrator is an unaccompanied young male refugee from Afghanistan who was known to the girl and her family. The case has reignited debate on the criminal prosecution of asylum seekers.

Two days after the killing, the girl’s father said of the suspect: “There’s no way he is ever only fifteen … We hope that through the process we will now know his true age.”

Bavaria’s Interior Minister Joachim Herrmann of the Christian Social Union (CSU) recently demanded “strict regulation for a medical age check of all incoming refugees who are not clearly recognizable as children.”

Too many refugees are still faking adolescent age,” Herrmann said.

The vice chairman of Germany’s largest party in parliament, the Christian Democrats (CDU), Thomas Strobl, told newspaper Die Welt on Sunday that the age of all asylum seekers should be examined by doctors.

CSU deputies have called for a closed session on Thursday to agree on legislation that would make it obligatory for refugees to undergo age tests.

The far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD) has demanded such tests for some time, based on the Austria model, where statutory age assessment was introduced eight years ago.

    • Germany: Berliners give mixed reactions to proposed refugee age-checks

The German government’s proposal to introduce age checks for refugees was met with mixed reactions from residents of Berlin on Tuesday.

“This is a superfluous debate, whether a young refugee is 15, 16 or 18… It does not really matter. There’s another priority. And age does not make a difference for that,” said Ibrahim Maloui.

      • The guy with the cap and glasses at the end says the “mainstream” media (newspapers, radio) portrays the refugees as threat (taking jobs, abusing the welfare system and violence etc.) He says it is just purposefully stirring up hate and that there will always be sickos.

Exactly this kind of mentality is what we are up against. He is a repeater.
The main stream media goes out of it´s way to portray the whole refugee theme as our new diverse utopia wonderland.

Or he´s just a clean looking drug addict. In either case dumb as bread and detached from reality.

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Trump administration is calling on Iran’s government to stop blocking Instagram and other popular social media sites as Iranians are demonstrating in the streets.

U.S. Undersecretary of State Steve Goldstein says the United States wants Iran to “open these sites.” He says Instagram, Telegram and other platforms are “legitimate avenues for communication.”

The United States is encouraging Iranians to use virtual private networks, known as VPNs. Those services create encrypted links between computers and can be used to access blocked websites.

Goldstein says the U.S. is still communicating with Iranians in Farsi through State Department accounts on Facebook, Twitter and other platforms. He says the U.S. wants to “encourage the protesters to continue to fight for what’s right.”

Goldstein says the U.S. has an “obligation not to stand by.”

Tehran residents reacted to the ongoing anti-government protests against rising food prices, unemployment and alleged corruption in Iran, as they entered their sixth day on Tuesday.

SOT, Maryam Rezaei, resident (Farsi): “Look, if each country wants to improve, it is necessary that everyone starts with themselves. A person [Trump] who says ‘it is time for change,’ should think and be worried about his own country and Iranians should think about their country. Everybody should start changing first within themselves to make progress.”

SOT, Mehdi Navabi, resident (Farsi): “Firstly, in my view, the government should not suppress. It should stand and listen and I think interference with force by the government is wrong. They should also not filter media like Instagram or Telegram as people use anti-filter applications [VPN] and it could somehow be an insult to them.”

SOT, Reza Ghorbani, resident (Farsi): “Countries like the US and [Benjamin] Netanyahu’s Zionists are behind these protests. Now they are counting the days, and Saudi Arabia is nothing.”

SOT, Mohammad Assadi, resident (Farsi): “People themselves know what they should do. The right path is recognised by people and people know what path they are taking and whatever that man [Trump] says, he is saying it to himself.”

SOT, Saeid Mohseni, resident (Farsi): “I feel that if the people’s economic problems were addressed more, these accidents would never happen. This means that at the very least they want to speak with someone, with the mayor of somewhere. If at least they came and spoke to them these accidents would not get bigger than this.”

SOT, Saeid Mohseni, resident (Farsi): “As a youth, I feel that in the field of foreign policy issues, he [Trump] should never interfere in our country’s issues. As far as it is related to him and as far as it is related to us, we make the decisions about our country’s issues. More than that, I think the issues of our own country should be none of his business.”

SOT, Sara Moradkhani, resident (Farsi): “Costliness, unemployment, lack of attention to people, a lot of neglect to people. For example, do those who are located at the top know that bird flu is being spread? Authorities says that this problem started with an egg, so why didn’t they start importing chicken and eggs sooner to the country?”.

  11. How Trump Saw the Iran Protests Coming
And why the media didn’t have a clue.
    January 2, 2018
    Daniel Greenfield

Months before the protests that are shaking the Islamic Republic of Iran began, President Trump stood before the entire world at the United Nations and boldly declared that the terror regime would fall.

“The good people of Iran want change, and, other than the vast military power of the United States, that Iran’s people are what their leaders fear the most,” he correctly predicted.

As another day of protests begins, as the Islamist thugs of the IRGC face a choice between an outraged populace and a failing regime, his words in that September speech ring truer than ever.

“The longest-suffering victims of Iran’s leaders are, in fact, its own people,” he pointed out.

“Oppressive regimes cannot endure forever, and the day will come when the Iranian people will face a choice. Will they continue down the path of poverty, bloodshed, and terror? Or will the Iranian people return to the nation’s proud roots as a center of civilization, culture, and wealth where their people can be happy and prosperous once again?” he challenged.

  12. Iranian People’s Call for Freedom
Trump sides with the protesters — unlike Obama.
    January 2, 2018
    Joseph Klein

The Iranian regime is facing the most serious threat from mass protests in the streets since the failed Green Revolution in 2009. What started out as scattered unrest over unemployment, rising food prices, costly military adventures and corruption has morphed into widespread anger at the country’s theocracy itself and its Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. While Iran’s figurehead President Hassan Rouhani called for calm and claimed that people had the right to protest under Iran’s Constitution, riot police have lashed out at demonstrators, some of whom were reportedly heard chanting “death to the dictator,” “death to Khamenei,” “we don’t want an Islamic Republic,” and “clerics should get lost.” The death toll linked to the unrest is reported to have risen to at least 13, including the death of one policeman. Arrests are in the hundreds. The regime has attempted to thwart communications among protest organizers by blocking access to the Internet and popular messaging applications such as Telegram.

Former President Barack Obama turned his back on the Green Revolution demonstrators in 2009 in order to curry favor with the Iranian regime, paving the way for the disastrous nuclear deal his administration negotiated with Iran’s leaders several years later. As a result of that deal, Iran received sanctions relief and hard cash up front. However, it continues to launch ballistic missiles in violation of the United Nations Security Council resolution that had endorsed the deal. And it continues to fund Hezbollah and other terrorist organizations, while denying its own people the economic benefits that were supposed to come from sanctions relief. Iran’s unemployment rate is worse now – over 12 percent – than it was two years ago when the sanctions relief began. Inflation has increased from 6.8 percent in June 2016 to approximately 9.6 percent today. Economic conditions are clearly moving in the wrong direction, thanks to mismanagement and squandering of much needed resources by the Iranian regime. No wonder the people are angry.

  15. Deep State Dossier Disinformation
Establishment media ignore the real sources of the Russia investigation.

George Papadopoulos was the “improbable match that set off a blaze that has consumed the first year of the Trump administration.” Like the Trump campaign itself, advisor Papadopoulos “proved to be a tantalizing target for a Russian influence operation.”

Thus opens a 2500-plus-word December 30 New York Times piece headlined “How the Russia Inquiry Began: A Campaign Aide, Drinks and Talk of Political Dirt,” by Sharon LaFraniere, Mark Mazetti and Matt Apuzzo, with reporting by Adam Goldman, Eileen Sullivan and Matthew Rosenberg. The multiple authorship betokens serious investigation but this piece shapes up as dezinformatsiya and the Times gives it away in the early going.

“It was not, as Mr. Trump and other politicians have alleged, a dossier compiled by a former British spy hired by a rival campaign,” that started the investigation, and there is some truth to that. The dossier, one of the dirtiest tricks political tricks in US history, was only part of a plan revealed by FBI counterintelligence boss Peter Strzok in the office of FBI deputy director Andrew McCabe. As a Strzok email explained: “I want to believe the path you threw out for consideration in Andy’s office that there’s no way he gets elected — but I’m afraid we can’t take that risk. It’s like an insurance policy in the unlikely event you die before you’re 40. . .”

    http://www.breitbart.com/london/2018/01/02/sadiqs-london-knife-crime-gun-crime-theft-burglary-rape-homicide-massively/

“Britain’s media celebrated in droves when London elected its first Muslim mayor, Sadiq Khan, in May 2016.

Now the cacophony caused by the “we’re not racist” backslapping has ended, the true implications of a Khan mayoralty are being realised.

In Britain’s capital over the past year, Khan presided over rises in knife crime, gun crime, theft, burglary, rape, homicide, and more. And not just by a little bit, either.

Some in the media — by which I mean basically just me — predicted Khan might be a disaster for London, but the extent to which this is true was beyond even our worst nightmares.

Parking the anecdotal evidence of Khan giving preference to genital mutilation-linked groups, and using his platform to agitate against the U.S. President, the statistics reveal a terrifying incompetence in keeping London safe — one of the mayor’s core areas of responsibility.

Data from the Mayor of London’s Police and Crime Office — led by former lobbyist-turned-Deputy Mayor Sophie Linden — reveals a sharp uptick in violent crime in Khan’s first year.

From the years 2015/16 to 2016/17, homicides in London rose by 27.1 per cent. Youth homicide jumped 70 per cent. Serious youth violence was up 19 per cent. Robbery was up 33.4 per cent, while home burglaries rose by 18.7 per cent.

Theft went up by over 10,000 incidents in a year, up 33.9 per cent, and there were more than 4,000 additional knife crime incidents under Khan than under his predecessor, a rise of 31.3 per cent.

Rape in the capital rose by 18.3 per cent, while there were 2,551 incidents of gun crime, representing a rise of 16.3 per cent on the previous year.

The Mayor has continuously blamed central government “police cuts” for the problems faced, but statistics reveal London only lost around 1,000 police officers (3 per cent) in the past year, reducing the workforce from 31,343 to 30,379.

The report compares November to October data from the years 2015/16 and 2016/17…”

“Germany has announced that social media websites that don’t remove “obviously illegal” posts could now face up to €50 million in fines.

BBC News reports that Germany plans to begin enforcing a law that could see social media companies such as Facebook and Twitter fined up to €50 million for hate speech on their platforms. The law gives the companies 24 hours to remove offending content from their platform once they have been notified of its existence. The law applies to any social media sites with more than 2 million members, this means that not only Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube will be at risk of fines, but also sites such as Reddit, Tumblr and Russian social media website VK.

The Netzwerkdurchsetzungsgesetz (NetzDG) law was passed into law at the end of June 2017 and enforcement began at the start of October. Social media networks were informed of the law and told they had until the end of 2017 to prepare for the law’s implementation. Germany’s justice ministry announced plans to make forms available on their website that could be used by citizens to report content that violates the NetzDG.

One of the requirements that NetzDG places on social media firms is not just that they remove content, but that they must have a fully working and detailed complaints system so that users can report offensive content.

Some leniency in the 24 hour content removal time frame will be given in “complex cases,” which will be given a full week for review and action. Many have criticised the law stating that it verges on restricting free speech within the country — the NetzDG is by far the strictest measure enacted by a government on social media websites in recent times.

Due to fears of the spread of “fake news” during the 2016 elections, calls for social media regulation became prevalent across Europe. The European Commission also published guidelines for social media websites which encouraged them to act faster on extremist content on their platforms.

Facebook has reportedly already begun recruiting hundreds of content moderators in Germany to watch out for extremist content on their platform and deal with reports of content that violate the NetzDG.”

  18. Blue States May Fight Tax Reform by Becoming Non-Profits
    January 2, 2018
    Daniel Greenfield

Wile E. Coyote had a better plan for catching the Road Runner than the Democrats have for battling tax reform. As the high cost of the blue state model risks kicking in with tax reform, they’re working harder than Al Capone’s accountants to soften the blow.

blockquote>Kirk Stark, a law professor at the University of California, Los Angeles, has suggested that states encourage residents to donate money to their state governments, then let the governments credit those donations against their state income taxes. Such donations would qualify as charitable donations, which are still fully deductible on federal taxes.

Mr. Stark noted that such programs already existed, albeit in a much more limited form. Several states let residents count donations to private schools as state tax payments under certain circumstances, an initiative that conservatives have promoted as a step toward school vouchers

    https://www.frontpagemag.com/point/268893/blue-states-may-fight-tax-reform-becoming-non-daniel-greenfield

    • The question is how many of the people making the money are going to be willing to let the State Government steal it from them? A lot have already moved to low tax states and are enjoying an increase in pay because of the lower taxes. This scheme is going to force others to move, it won’t be a big mass migration but over them more and more of the top wage earners will move to save money.

  19. Trump’s Pressure on North Korea and Iran is Working
    January 2, 2018
    Daniel Greenfield

The media has been shrilly warning of the end of the world. (As it does every Tuesday.)

Berating Kim Jong Un and ending Iran certification would lead to war. Instead Trump’s pressure on North Korea led to the usual bellicose threats, but also to Kim Jong Un reaching out to South Korea. By pressuring North Korea, the regime had few options except to further escalate the conflict or bypass Trump by reaching an agreement with South Korea. With an open South Korean government, the next move was inevitable. This doesn’t actually solve anything. North Korea’s agreements are worthless. And the South Korean government is unreliable.

But it shows that the pressure is quite clearly working.

Likewise, the pressure on Iran didn’t isolate America, as the media and the pro-nuke experts had predicted, it splintered Iran once again creating a wedge between the regime and the opposition. The protests may not overthrow Iran’s government, but like Kim Jong Un’s response, they show weakness in response to pressure.

The predictions have once again proven wrong. And President Trump’s foreign policy is working.

  20. Republicans Cut Booze Taxes for the First Time Since the Civil War,
    January 2, 2018
    Daniel Greenfield

    The left hates two things…

    1. Fun

    2. Tax cuts

    This combines both.

The bill includes changes to the tax code designed to spur growth for craft spirits producers, and will reduce the federal excise tax on distilled spirits producers for the first time since the Civil War, according to the Distilled Spirits Council.

Taxes tend to go up rather than down. Real tax cuts threaten the left. And the left is once again… unhappy.

  21. Feds Get “Minimum Wage” of $100K
The bureaucracy that rules over us keeps getting richer and richer.
    January 2, 2018
    Matthew Vadum

As Americans struggle to make ends meet, federal government employees are taking home a “minimum wage” of $100,000 and getting two months paid vacation after a mere three years of employment, according to government watchdog group Open the Books.

President Trump is theoretically in charge of the federal government, but that doesn’t mean he controls the fat cat federal bureaucrats in the Democrat-dominated civil service, many of whom within the Beltway work every day to undermine his policies. He even ordered a pay raise for federal employees in the new year, although the increase is smaller than what had been scheduled had he not acted.

With a workforce of 2 million people, the U.S. government is one of the most generous employers around, shelling out more than $1 million a minute in pay and benefits to its employees, for a total north of $136 billion a year in fiscal 2016, according to the report titled “Mapping the Swamp, A Study of the Administrative State.” The study excludes 742,000 civilian employees at the Department of Defense as well as the 1.3 million men and women on active duty.

  22. THE IRANIAN EXPLOSION OF TRUTH
A popular uprising that has the potential to avert a world war.
    January 2, 2018
    Caroline Glick

If the Iranian regime is unable to brutally stomp out the countrywide protests raging through the country, and if the protesters achieve their goal of bringing down the regime, they will go down in history as the saviors of millions of people not just in Iran but throughout the world.

Given the earth shattering potential of the protests it is extraordinary to see the liberal media in the US and Europe struggle to downplay their significance.

Richard: I doubt if the revolution will stop the coming world war, but it will lower the chances of a nuclear exchange that would end up involving Europe and the US. Pakistan still has nuclear weapons and they are still allies of China and facing off with India. If we can disarm North Korea without Kim launching or shipping one or more of his nukes to a terror group the possiblity of and exchange between Pakistan and India (maybe involving China) is the last flash point for a nuclear exchange. Assuming that the British and French nukes are kept out of the hands of the Islamic Invaders.

    • If the revolution succeeds Russia will have to shift their main support to Erdogan and this will make him an accessory to the Islamic Conquest of Europe. Since he has been positioning himself as the protector of Christianity this will be hard to pull off.

I am not sure what he will do but he may decide to become the protector of Europe as well as Christianity. This will be a difficult move to carry out but it won’t piss off the people in Russia who are tired of Foreign Adventures.

      • Russians aren’t disturbed about Uncle Vlad’s Splendid Adventures. Most get their info from Russian stations and it’s overwhelmingly positive.

        • He stood by Assad, who isn’t a good person, but his father was an ally. Trust and relationships count.
[Cut to graphic rape scene of Gaddafi – cf. USA lets THAT happen?!]

        • Hatred of tards runs deep. Doesn’t matter which flavor. The more casualties, the better.

        • So what if he’s killed Bagdadi 8 times? They laugh 8 times! It’s what they’re used to, everything with a grain (or 8) of salt.

        • Russia’s a player again; heads of state are visiting!

        • The economy’s bad because of sanctions. They’re unfair – Russia the Victim. Just as in WWII, which Russia WON for the world. [They believe it 100%. Even dissidents from gulag believe it.]

        • Thank you I will adjust my thinking.

But I still say that Russia doens’t have the money to replace all of the Iranian funding and what I said about being an accomplice to the Islamic conquest of Europe. Putin will have to do some fancy dancing around the subject to justify that when he has spent so much time becoming the defender of the faith.

          • Right, he doesn’t have the money and he’d make the penny squeal before giving it away even if he did.
He can always jail an oligarch on corruption charges [tee-hee] or ‘hooliganism’.

He’s an autocrat, ‘justify’ isn’t in the job description.
He’s also an expert fancy-dancer: he’ll false-flag something or stage a show. This tardish lady supposedly running for office might be his plant.

  23. Don’t Be Alarmed But China Could Be Building A Military Base In Pakistan

In a mid-December op-ed at The Daily Caller, I questioned what appeared to be signs of Chinese militarization of Pakistan, in particular, and in the Indian Ocean, in general.

In the last few months, there have been persistent reports of Chinese survey teams in the areas west of Gwadar, a seaport considered critical to the success of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), the linchpin to China’s Belt and Road Initiative, an effort to achieve Chinese commercial dominance in South Asia and as a connection to its strategic interests in the Middle East and Africa.

In the last two weeks, meetings held between high-ranking Chinese and Pakistani military officers indicate that a new Chinese military facility will be built on the Jiwani peninsula between Gwadar and the Iranian border. The plan is said to include a naval base and an expansion of the already-existing airport on the peninsula, both requiring the establishment of a se

    http://dailycaller.com/2018/01/01/dont-be-alarmed-but-china-could-be-building-a-military-base-in-pakistan/

    • Read the rest of the article, it contains a lot of info and provides much food for thought. It looks like Trump made the right move in cutting aid to Pakistan since they are letting the Chinese in and giving them a port and letting them expand an airport to make it a military airport. This puts our base in Diego Garcia in an exposed position and makes most of our operations in the area around the Arabian peninsula more difficult and in case of a shooting war much more dangerous.

It also puts India in a more dangerous position by having Chinese bases on three sides. This will drive India either deeper into the Russian camp or into the US camp even if they have to change some of their economic policies towards towards foreign companies that have moved some of their operations to India. India will also have to rethink their position towards going an alliance against North Korea and China. These new positions may, I repeat may be worth letting South Korea have North Korea, especially since repairing the environmental damage and bringing the North into the 21st Century will tie up a lot of Korean and Japanese Capital.

It also forces the US into an internal fight about how much to spend on the Military since we don’t have the Naval assets to meet the new threat. We need to recruit, and train more personal and pull as many ships out of Mothballs as we can. Building new ships when necessary.

A few weeks ago I posted a Black Pigeon Speaks video about how the US was going to have to concentrate its military in the Far East and Europe was going to have to look out for itself. This is more evidence he is right.

      • Probably right.
Pakistan is a headache. Hope it costs China more than it’s worth. Maybe kill a few important people. Maybe get the tards in China extra frisky.

        • It will be a headache for them, and as I pointed out in a different comment this will make India start reconsidering not joining the alliance against North Korea/China and against the Chinese expansion in the South China Sea. This places them in position to try and dominating a large section of the Indian Ocean, as well as placing Chinese troops on three of their borders.

If I were India I would be making sure my nukes and missiles are in working order, they may be all that keeps China at bay.

On the good side the Chinese efforts there make it less likely that they will interfere if/when we have to remove North Korea from the world.

  24. Heroic Women Fighting for Freedom

    by Khadija Khan
    January 2, 2018 at 5:00 am

    https://www.gatestoneinstitute.org/11655/women-freedom-iran

Take note, those of you who want to see real women freedom-fighters. Look into the streets of Iran or listen to the chess champion Anna Muzychuk.

Iranian women, by risking their lives, have unmasked the faces of those trying to promote burqas and hijabs as supposed “symbols of liberation”.

The desperate attempt of Iranian people pouring out onto the streets against the Islamist regime exposes the bitter life that Iran’s citizens, especially women, have been forced to live for nearly forty years in the name of Islamic law, (sharia).

These demonstrations have also shown the ugly face of Islamists who take their own people hostage to quench their thirst for power — by repression, jail, torture, executions — any way they can.

Iranian women, like many others, are sick and tired of living in layers upon layers of imprisonment.

The regime in Iran clearly feels shaken by the resolve of these protestors: Iran’s leaders have promised to soften their misogynistic laws by not imprisoning women in Tehran who appear in public without their veils on.

  25. What to Make of Latest Protests in Iran?

    by Lawrence A. Franklin
    January 2, 2018 at 4:00 am

    https://www.gatestoneinstitute.org/11650/latest-iran-protests

For the past several days, Iranians have demonstrated against a government that has not delivered on promised economic improvement and against a regime whose ruling clerical class they despise.

The public’s animosity against the existing order, as past protests indicate, is no surprise. Particular aspects of this latest series of demonstrations, however, invite a critical eye by Iran-watchers.

The current protests began, not as usual, in the Iran’s capital, Tehran. The protests began in Mashhad, center of the wealthiest and most powerful religious foundation in the country. At first, the crowds were demonstrating for the long-promised but undelivered economic benefits that were supposed to follow the roll-back of internationally-applied sanctions against Iran, after the Obama administration delivered more than $150 billion to the Islamic Republic.

By the second night of protests, the demonstrators became more hostile and began to focus on political complaints. As a consequence, the regime may have viewed the spreading demonstrations more ominously.

In the past, demonstrations beginning in Tehran would then spread to smaller cities, provinces where non-Persian minorities were dominant, and then to rural regions. This time, it appears that rural citizens were in the streets early on. Also, the ongoing protests are not led or limited in large part to students and middle-class professionals, centered in northern Tehran. These protests also reportedly include laborers from South Tehran, usually the constituency of populist candidates such as former President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad (term: 2005-2013).

It’s not only Pakistan that we pay billions of dollars to for nothing, but also many other countries, and others. As an example, we pay the Palestinians HUNDRED OF MILLIONS OF DOLLARS a year and get no appreciation or respect. They don’t even want to negotiate a long overdue…

…peace treaty with Israel. We have taken Jerusalem, the toughest part of the negotiation, off the table, but Israel, for that, would have had to pay more. But with the Palestinians no longer willing to talk peace, why should we make any of these massive future payments to them?

  27. AFGHANISTAN – French, Uzbek Daesh Militants Killed in Jawzjan Air Operation

Joint Afghan-foreign joint airstrike in Darzab district kills more than 26 Daesh militants at gathering.

At least 26 Daesh militants including four French and three Uzbekistan citizens were killed in joint Afghan and foreign forces airstrike on Monday in Jawzjan province, local officials said Tuesday.

According to the officials, the strike was conducted on Monday evening in Darzab district when Daesh militants were gathered in Alkhani village of the district.

Jawzjan police chief Faqir Mohammad Jawzjani also confirmed the death of seven foreign Daesh fighters in the strike.

“An airstrike was conducted as Daesh militants had a big gathering. The strike was successful and more than 26 militants, including their key commanders, were killed,” said Jawzjani.

Three French and four Uzbekistan fighters were killed in the strike.

“Three French citizens and four Uzbekistan citizens are among the deaths,” Jawzjani added.

According to the police chief, two civilians were also killed in the airstrike.

Darzab district of Jawzjan province is one the most insecure districts in the north and located 100km of Sheberghan capital of Jawzjan province. Daesh is highly active in the district.

    ===============================================
French, Uzbek Daesh militants killed in Jawzjan

AT-KABUL: Three French and four Uzbekistan fighters loyal to the Daesh extremist group have been killed in an airstrike carried out in the Darzab district of northern Faryab province, official said on Tuesday.

According to the officials, the strike was conducted on Monday evening when Daesh militants were gathered in Alkhani village of the district.

Provincial Police Chief, Faqir Mohammad Jawzjani confirmed the death of seven foreign fighters in the attack.

“Beside three French and four Uzbekistan fighters of the Daesh terrorists, dozens other militants including their Key commanders, were killed in the airstrike,” he added.

He also confirmed martyrdom of two civilians during airstrike.

Based on some reports, over 80 percent of Darzab district is under the control of Daesh and the extremist group has been engaged in recruiting campaign across the province.

At least 300 Afghan children in northern Jawzjan province have been under militant training of Islamic State (IS), which is also known as Daesh terrorist group, local officials said recently.

The provincial council members of Jawzjan confirmed the news, saying most of the families were unwillingly forced due to poverty to hand over their children to the Daesh terror group.

Afghanistan Independent Human Rights Commission office in the Northern Province, also confirmed receiving reports of Daesh, recruiting children and urged the government to act urgently to prevent the human disaster at the hands of terrorist outfits.

It was also reported that Daesh has set up an army of 12 children aged 9 to 10-year old to carry out suicide attacks,

A member of Jawzjan provincial council, Halima Sadaf said, “A number of underage children that most of them are not from Jawzjan province have been trained for martyred-attacks.”

Sadaf emphasized that the aim of preparing these children for suicide attacks is still unknown but the government should take serious measures in suppressing the terrorist groups in all districts of Jawzjan.

The Darzab and Qosh Tapa districts of Jawzjan province have recently become the military base for Deash and the issue sparked concerns of the inhabitants.

There are concerns the number of young boys forced into Daesh ranks will increase as young children taken to live in its territories or born to “jihadi brides” grow up.

  28. Osama bin Laden’s grandson killed in air strike along Pak-Afghan border: Reports

The 12-year-old grandson of slain al-Qaeda chief Osama bin Laden has reportedly been killed in an air strike along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, according to reports on Monday.

Osama bin Hamza bin Laden died sometime last year, according to a leaked letter sent by his father Hamza bin Laden to his family announcing the death, The New Arab, or Al-Araby Al-Jadeed, news website reported.

“The grandson of the martyr, our son Osama…has ascended to the highest paradise of heaven,” said the letter dated in the Islamic month of Dhu al-Qidah, which fell between July and August.

“Tragedies that we meet…such as these only make us stronger and more steadfast,” the letter added, without giving the cause of death.

Terror Monitor, which closely tracks the online activities of jehadi groups, tweeted that al-Qaeda supporters were circulating the letter mourning the death of Hamza bin Laden’s oldest son Osama bin Hamza bin Laden in Afghanistan.

The Arabic news website Arabi 21 cited jehadi sources and reported that the 12-year-old boy was killed in an air raid on an al-Qaeda base along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border.

Hamza bin Laden has become active as an al-Qaeda propagandist since his father was killed by US special forces in a raid in Pakistan in 2011. In January, the US added Hamza to its terror list.

A vast trove of al-Qaeda documents seized during the raid in Abbottabad that killed Osama bin Laden was released by the CIA last year. It included the first public images of Hamza as an adult.

Osama bin Laden had been grooming Hamza, his favourite son, as a possible heir.
