“SEVERAL people have been hospitalised after a homemade bomb exploded inside a busy St Petersburg supermarket.

Nobody was killed in the explosion, but several people were rushed to hospital with injuries of “variable servity” following the blast in the Russian city this evening.

Exactly how many people were injured is still not clear. Reports on Russia media range from four to 10.

Around 50 people were evacuated from the area following the blast.

Russian media has reported officials as saying an “improvised explosive device” which was “filled with projectiles” appears to have been the cause of the blast.

An official statement said: “According to the preliminary assessment by explosives experts, an improvised explosive device, equivalent to 200 grams of TNT, exploded in St. Petersburg.

“The device was filled with projectiles.”

Russian media service RT has reported officials are treating the incident as a “potential mass homicide attempt”.

Sources are quoted as telling local media the explosion took place in a storage locker inside the supermarket.

The blast ripped through the store on the ground floor of the ground floor Gigant Hall shopping complex, which is traditionally packed with shoppers in the days before the New Year celebrations.

Footage from the scene shows emergency service vehicles parked outside the building where the Perekrestok supermarket is located.

An official from the Emergencies Ministry told Russian news agency TASS: “There was a bang. Emergency personnel are already on the scene.

“The evacuation has been completed, and there was no fire.”

A statement from company which owns the store told Sputnik: ”At the moment the store is closed, buyers and staff have been evacuated.

“Special services are working at the scene.

“There is no more detailed information at the moment.”

    • I’m used to it by now, Johnny.
They just keep on pushing. They can’t win an election; their “base” is the same as that plaguing Mr. Orban. Same cast of characters, vermin oozing money that contaminates everything it touches.

I’d be delighted if Bibi could just hang it up, visit his old stomping grounds, enjoy the long and healthy private life he so richly deserves.

Maybe soon. There’s a promising younger generation I’ve been watching. Finally some leadership potential. They just need more experience.

Bibi’s the one – with the grace of G-d – for the war that seems closer every day. That’s what will season the next generation. Things will look very different.

  3. Islam’s demons are busy all the time indulging their insatiable bloodlust — everywhere. The only way countries can protect themselves from the Islamic scourge is to deport every last Muslim from their soil. There doesn’t appear to be any other viable solution. As long as Muzz are present, they will Muzz, i.e. maim and kill at every opportunity. It’s impossible to convert them into human beings except for the relatively few apostates who had the brains and ballz to tell their homicidal Imams to shove it.

Wholesale deportations of Muslims isn’t in the cards, so we’re just going to have to accept their Allah Akbar rampages as best we can . . .

  4. Russia: Footage captures in-store destruction following St. Petersburg blast

National Antiterrorism Committee footage captured the aftermath of an explosion at the ‘Perekrestok’ supermarket in St. Petersburg that left 10 people injured, Wednesday.

Debris was seen around the area of the blast.

According to the Russian Investigative Committee’s preliminary findings, a home-made explosive device full of striking elements was detonated in a safe case encompassing one of the supermarket’s checkout lanes. The blast occurred at around 15:30 GMT.

Police, emergency services, the Federal Security Service, and the Russian Investigative Committee are at the scene.

  5. Russia: Witnesses recount aftermath of explosion at St. Petersburg supermarket

Ten people were reportedly injured and dozens evacuated after an explosion at a ‘Perekrestok’ supermarket in St. Petersburg, Wednesday.

People who were close by at the moment of the explosion say they heard a blast and decided to check out what had happened.

According to one witness, Viktoria Gordeeva, security at the supermarket needs improvement.

“Once I left my milk package in a safe case [at the supermarket] for two days. I came back in two days, it was still there.”

She added that apparently no one checks these safe cases.

  6. Is it just me, or does anyone else get a sense of intense irony that this relict of the Soviet Union (i.e., modern Russia) currently is experiencing the exact same sort of brutally murderous attacks that Putin (and his KGB cronies) sponsored throughout the entire Cold War-era world?

It’s far too easy to wallow in pity for the perpetually beleaguered Russian people. However, much as with with the old line of, “People get the government that they deserve”, I will quote Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn:

And how we burned in the camps later, thinking: What would things have been like if every Security operative, when he went out at night to make an arrest, had been uncertain whether he would return alive and had to say good-bye to his family? Or if, during periods of mass arrests, as for example in Leningrad, when they arrested a quarter of the entire city, people had not simply sat there in their lairs, paling with terror at every bang of the downstairs door and at every step on the staircase, but had understood they had nothing left to lose and had boldly set up in the downstairs hall an ambush of half a dozen people with axes, hammers, pokers, or whatever else was at hand?… The Organs would very quickly have suffered a shortage of officers and transport and, notwithstanding all of Stalin’s thirst, the cursed machine would have ground to a halt! If…if…We didn’t love freedom enough. And even more – we had no awareness of the real situation…. We purely and simply deserved everything that happened afterward.

Never have I encountered such an unrelentingly harsh (or more accurate) self-assessment regarding the how and why of Soviet Russian suffering.

Soon enough, Western Europeans will be facing this exact same dilemma. Either they begin resisting their Socialist apparatchiks right now, or they will be tasked with supremely ugly house-to-house and street-by-street urban warfare to take back their ancestral lands.

This recent tsunami of (purposefully induced) Nafri and MME (Muslim Middle East) “immigrants and refugees” invaders will give them no choice. That is, unless total annihilation represents any sort of viable alternative.

    Welcome to hell the bottleneck.

    • Soon enough, Western Europeans will be facing this exact same dilemma. Either they begin resisting their Socialist apparatchiks right now, or they will be tasked with supremely ugly house-to-house and street-by-street urban warfare to take back their ancestral lands.

Now we are seeing the same future for Western Europe and portions of Eastern Europe. As Yucki says from time to time, we are facing a culling of the herd with the more intelligent surviving to pass on their genes. For a long time the left has been worrying about over population destroying the environment, well we are now seeing what is going to reduce the worlds population to a more sustainable level. This war won’t end quickly but in the end the survivors will be those who use violence more intelligently then those who just use violence.

Raw Naked violence has solved more problems then any other type of problem solving, but it is those who use the violence intelligently that ends up winning the wars. The Islamic Invaders are using violence but the way they are doing this is more likely to result in massive resistance movements rather then inducing surrender. The Europeans are starting to break out of their indoctrination against violence and weapons, they are doing this while there is still time to save Europe but it will be a very bloody time before Europe once again belongs to the Europeans.

    • Is it just me, or does anyone else…
      It’s just you.
Dead and maimed Russian kids don’t get the govt they deserve.

Solzhenitsyn’s dead. He’s no shortcut or substitute for understanding Russia or Russians. Quoting timeless prose objectivifies and dehumanizes a vastly complex society of peoples.

Russians struggle, endure more than any Westerner can imagine. They don’t ask for your pity; they don’t deserve anyone’s contempt.

      • I was raised to hate Russians.

Then one day God’s poetic hand served me justice. He presented me with a Russian secretary. She cried in front of us the day we hired her. “Why are you crying?” I asked. “Because I’m happy,” she answered.

As time passed I learned that she had made moonshine in her bathtub to turn a buck selling to her apartment building. When her alcoholic first husband beat her while she was pregnant an acquaintance once removed from a friend appeared. A gangster. He took out his pistol and offered justice. She thanked him then gently declined. I also deduced that she worked as a stripper to make ends meet. When I give her a Christmas bonus she cries. When she speaks of her mother and father she cries. When someone tries to screw me in business she is savage. Western women think she looks cheap in her Russian fashion. Her hair colour changes with the seasons. She wears high heels in the snow. When I throw out good food she chastises me. You people are spoiled, she says.

I think the whole package is quite beautiful.

Then divine poetry gave me a Jewish-Russian brother-in-law. He made his way to Detroit medical school financed by his own medical invention. He is a proud American.

Not all poetic justice is what we may want–I refer to other “gifts” I have received–but we can usually see the Why of it all.

        I no longer hate Russians.

        • I have never hated Russians, on the other hand I firmly believe that the only good communist is a dead communist. I hate evil ideologies and ideologues learn to think that way.

  7. Russia: St. Petersburg supermarket attacker caught on camera

CCTV footage released on Thursday shows the moment the suspected St. Petersburg attacker entered the Perekrestok supermarket on Wednesday.

The as-yet unidentified man walked in to the supermarket in the Gigant Hall leisure centre with a backpack, leaving his bag in a safe case, and promptly leaving the shop. Thirteen people were injured in the explosion which occurred shortly after the man left the shop, at around 18:16 local time.
