  3. New Cold War? Iran Sends Warships to Gulf of Mexico

Iranian warships are set to leave the waters of the Persian Gulf to sail across the world and tour another gulf—the one that lies between the U.S. and Mexico.

At a time when Iran is looking to expand and modernize its military in the face of what is seen as a growing U.S. threat, its newly appointed navy commander, Rear Admiral Hossein Khanzadi, held his first press conference Wednesday, announcing that a fleet of Iranian ships would soon depart for the Atlantic Ocean and the Gulf of Mexico en route to visits to a number of South American countries, Iran’s semiofficial Tasnim News Agency reported. The move is reportedly part of a push to project Iran’s military on a more global scale and establish international ties as President Donald Trump and his allies, including Israel and Saudi Arabia, seek to isolate the revolutionary Shiite Muslim power.

  4. Apple offices raided ahead of launch of iPhone X in South Korea

South Korean authorities have raided Apple’s offices in Seoul as it prepares to launch the iPhone X.

Metro.co.uk has learned that investigators visited Apple’s HQ earlier this week to ask questions about its business practices ahead of the launch of the smartphone tomorrow.

The raid is likely to raise questions about whether South Korean authorities are trying to hamper the success of the X, which has sold out across the world.

Apple products are wildly popular in South Korea, which is home to several giant tech firms including Samsung and LG.

The iPhone X sold out when it became available for pre-order and is likely to be snapped up when it goes on sale on Friday November 24, putting a huge dent in the sales of Apple’s competitors’ products.

  7. Exclusive: In ‘99, Franken Copped to Copping a Feel of Kathie Lee Gifford

dd another alleged groping incident to Al Franken’s growing list of sexual misdeeds.

The one-time comedian appeared on the Howard Stern Show in 1999, where he bragged about groping Kathie Lee Gifford.

Later in the show, however, Franken changed his story, and said it was “wrong” he had sexually accosted Gifford.

“I was talking to Al earlier in the green room, and he was telling me — I was asking him if he ever does, you know, Kathie & Regis, he was telling me how he used to co-host with Kathie Lee,” recounted the show’s executive producer Gary Dell-Abate. “He said he kissed her and grabbed her ass.”

Franken doesn’t deny the telling Dell-Abate he “kissed her and grabbed her ass,” and the conversation then shifts to other topics, including Franken being happily married.

About 12 minutes later after the first discussion of Kathie Lee, a caller, nicknamed “Big Black,” calls in to say that the National Enquirer columnist, Mike Walker, reported six months earlier that Kathy Lee Gifford asked her show’s staff to never book Franken as a co-host again, citing his inappropriate touching. The column reportedly stated that Franken “grabbed her ass” after a broadcast.

  10. BREITBART – WATCH: African Migrants Create Roadblock in Italy to Protest Living Conditions at Welcome Center

A group of some 20 African migrants blocked a local highway in southern Italy with heavy appliances to protest the quality of food and living conditions in their migrant welcome center.

According to Italian media, the young, male asylum seekers staged their roadblock Tuesday morning on the provincial highway running from Sessa to Mignano in the province of Caserta, between Rome and Naples. Protest laid heavy appliances such as stoves and refrigerators as well as large black garbage bags laid across the road to keep traffic from passing.

The motives behind the protest have to do with living conditions in the welcome center of Galluccio, which migrants claim is too isolated and far from major cities. The asylum seekers have also complained of the quality of their meals and services.

According to one of the protesters, “The food isn’t good, it’s cold and inedible. The house isn’t good because it is too cold. We are too far away from populated areas and therefore we are isolated from the rest of the world.”

The directors of the welcome center, which is run by a cooperative from Naples, claim that the complaints are without basis and that problems could have been resolved by talking, without resorting to disruptions of the area residents.

To resolve the protest peacefully, local mayor Giuseppe Galluccio promised to review the migrants’ complaints and “carry out an investigation into the conditions and treatment of the persons living in the center.” After some two hours, the protesters dispersed quietly.

  11. The Hague Aims for U.S. Soldiers

    by John R. Bolton
    November 22, 2017 at 4:00 am

    https://www.gatestoneinstitute.org/11411/hague-icc-american-soldiers

or the first time since it began operating in 2002, the International Criminal Court has put the U.S. in its sights. On Nov. 3, ICC Prosecutor Fatou Bensouda initiated an investigation into alleged war crimes and crimes against humanity committed in Afghanistan since mid-2003. This raises the alarming possibility that the court will seek to assert jurisdiction over American citizens.

Located in The Hague (alongside such dinosaurs as the International Court of Justice, which decides state-versus-state disputes), the ICC constitutes a direct assault on the concept of national sovereignty, especially that of constitutional, representative governments like the United States. The Trump administration should not respond to Ms. Bensouda in any way that acknowledges the ICC’s legitimacy. Even merely contesting its jurisdiction risks drawing the U.S. deeper into the quicksand.

  12. SWITZERLAND – Islamic ‘hate preacher’ to be expelled

A district court in canton Zurich has given a Muslim preacher, accused of promoting violence, an 18-month suspended prison sentence. It also ordered the 25-year-old Ethiopian to be deported and banned from re-entering Switzerland for 15 years.

The preacher was on trial for calling for the burning of Muslims who are not devout enough in their worship.

Police arrested the cleric in October of last year, after receiving reports of the controversial sermon delivered at the An’Nur mosque in Winterthur, in north-eastern Switzerland. The man is also charged with distributing pictures of executions online and of violating labour regulations by working without a permit.
“His religious views represent a danger to the public,” the prosecution told the court. But the defendent’s lawyer painted a different picture, saying: “He was merely an unsuspecting asylum seeker who had only been in Switzerland for three months. He is no fanatical Muslim.”

    Controversial mosque

The An’Nur mosque has long been suspected of radicalizing youth, with media reports saying some worshippers had travelled to Syria to fight in jihad movements. A police raid on the mosque in November 2016 also uncovered four suspected illegal immigrants.

Three months later, ten people were arrested following allegations that they had attacked and imprisoned two other people in the mosque who they believed had spoken to journalists.

The mosque was closed down in June when the building’s owners refused to extend the lease.

The mosque’s governors have repeatedly rejected allegations of radicalization and links to terrorist groups. An Islamic culture organisation criticised the media last year of “inciting hatred against the mosque”.

The trial in Winterthur took place against a background of growing concern about Islamic radicalisation in Switzerland. Earlier this year, the federal authorities said they have identified more than 500 internet users with Swiss connections who were using social media to spread jihadist ideas.

The accused suffers from lymph node tuberculosis, but was deemed fit enough to stand trial.

  14. Egypt, Sudan and Ethiopia tensions over dam flare up again (abcnews, Nov 23, 2017)
    http://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/ethiopia-massive-dam-matter-life-death-51342581

“Tensions between Egypt and upstream Nile basin countries Sudan and Ethiopia flared up again Thursday over the construction and the effects of a massive dam being built by Ethiopia on the Blue Nile, the waterway’s main tributary.

A mostly desert nation of some 100 million people, Egypt fears the dam would reduce its vital share of the Nile waters and accuses Addis Ababa of not sufficiently cooperating on containing the dam’s effects. Egypt and Sudan have historically been allies, but a dispute over ownership of a border strip has poisoned relations, with the Egyptian media now routinely accusing Khartoum of taking Ethiopia’s side in the dispute over the dam.

Differences over the Ethiopian dam, which is 62 percent complete, is potentially destabilizing and could add a new and dangerous layer to the turmoil already ravaging the region. Military action by the Egyptians to halt the construction of the dam is unlikely, though not impossible, but if the three nations don’t closely cooperate to limit its effects, their relations would be fraught with tension and distrust for many years to come.

Seeking to portray Egypt as a bullying neighbor, Sudan’s foreign minister this week said Cairo was only unhappy about the dam because it would stop it from using some of Sudan’s own share of the river’s waters.

“It’s high time Egypt pays what it owes and for Sudan to get its full share,” said Ibrahim Ghandour, the minister.

Egypt responded late Wednesday, with Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry dismissing as inaccurate his Sudanese counterpart’s comments. The timing of his comments, said Shoukry, was suspicious given the negative fallout from the failure by the three Nile-basin nations to endorse a technical report prepared by an independent company on the likely effects of the dam…”

    • ‘With out digging into the matter and looking the math I would say that the dam will allow Ethopia and Sudan to irrigate more land relieving their food problems. This will take water away from Egypt increasing their good and water problems, the possibility of military action depends on how hungry and thirsty Egypt gets.

  15. The art of Italian home-cooking brought to Syrian refugees (abcnews, Nov 23. 2017)
    http://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/art-italian-home-cooking-brought-syrian-refugees-51344903

“Italian chefs taught Syrian refugee women to cook the Italian staple of gnocchi, or dumplings, helping to break the routine in perhaps the most restrictive of Jordan’s three camps for displaced Syrians.

Thursday’s lesson, part of the global Italian Cuisine Week, was held in the fenced-in Azraq camp in a remote area of northern Jordan.

The camp is home to some 40,000 Syrians, including about 8,000 who live in an area cut off from the other residents as they wait, often for months, to undergo additional security vetting.

The Italian team of two chefs and two students from a cooking school in the town of Sorrento guided a dozen Syrian women in preparing potato gnocchi with Mozzarella, tomatoes and basil. For dessert, they made jam-filled pie.

The food was made with items from the camp grocery and served to a larger group of camp residents. Refugee Ahlam al-Taybani said she will pass on her new skill to family and friends.

In all, Jordan hosts about 660,000 of some 5 million registered Syrian refugees in the region. The majority of displaced Syrians in Jordan live in communities, and only about 20 percent stay in camps, where they are supported by U.N. aid agencies.

Refugees can only leave Azraq with special Jordanian permits…”

  17. Teachers Warned Not to Say ‘Boys’ or ‘Girls’ as It ‘Reminds Pupils of Gender’ (breitbart, Nov 23, 2017)
    http://www.breitbart.com/london/2017/11/23/teachers-boys-girls-reminded-pupils-gender/

“Teachers should avoid calling female pupils “girls” or “ladies” because it means they are “constantly reminded of their gender”, a former government mental health tsar has said.

Natasha Devon, who was appointed MBE in 2015 for “services to young people”, said the move would help transgendered children as well as encourage female and male students to defy traditional notions of gender, which affect “well-being”.

She told the Girls’ School Association’s annual conference in Manchester that she would “never walk into a room in an all-girls’ school and say ‘girls’ or ‘ladies’” because it is “patronising”.

Teachers should instead address youngsters as “pupils”, “students”, or even just “people”, she insisted, according to The Telegraph.

“I don’t think it is useful to be constantly reminded of your gender all the time and all the stereotypes that go with it.”

The word “girls” can “create a lot of anxiety” in female children and teenagers, she claimed, while the word “boys” carries connotations of “being macho, not talking about your feelings, being told to man up”…”

    http://www.breitbart.com/jerusalem/2017/11/23/iraqi-politicians-considering-law-allowing-legal-marriage-nine-year-old-girls/

“A draft law being considered by Iraq’s parliament to allow Muslim girls as young as nine to marry has stirred outrage among critics who view it as a state-sanctioned licence “to rape children.”

Conservative Shiite deputies on October 31 proposed an amendment to a 1959 law that set the minimum age for marriage at 18. The proposal, an amendment to Iraq’s personal status law, would allow clerics of Muslim sects to govern marriage contracts.

This follows the belief of some religious sects in Iraq that the wife of Muhammad was aged nine. Therefore they say children of that age can marry, while others believe children can do so when they reach puberty.

The proposed marriage law is known as the Jaafari law, named after a Shia school of Islamic jurisprudence…”

    http://www.breitbart.com/london/2017/11/23/study-german-populists-polled-stronger-high-migration-areas/

“A new study has rejected the notion that the anti-mass migration Alternative for Germany (AfD) party only did well in homogenous-German neighborhoods, showing that the opposite was true and that the party polled strongly in high migration areas.

The study, which was carried out by the Jena Institute for Democracy and Civil Society and commissioned by the far-left Amadeu Antonio Foundation, shows that AfD voters come from a variety of backgrounds including affluent middle-class voters, Die Welt reports.

One of the biggest shocks for the researchers was that the data refuted many of the assumptions on what sort of people voted for the AfD in September’s national election. Many had assumed the average AfD voter was a low-income East German living in an area relatively unaffected by mass migration.

According to the data, the number of AfD voters per capita in high migrant areas is much larger than previously expected, though the researchers claim the information is too broad to make any direct conclusions.

The rise of the AfD on the federal level is also linked to the far-right National Democratic Party (NPD) the authors of the study claim. They say that in areas where the NPD did well in 2013, the AfD also showed very strong results…”

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-5109497/Migrants-win-right-stay-UK-36-seconds.html

“Britain handed out residence permits to non-EU migrants at the rate of one every 36 seconds last year.

Officials allowed 865,894 people from outside the EU to live here – a quarter of the permits issued across Europe and the most granted by any one nation.

The figure was up 52 per cent on the 570,000 total recorded two years ago.

The figures were published by the EU’s statistics arm Eurostat ahead of the release of a new set of UK migration statistics next week. The last survey showed net migration – the difference between those arriving minus those leaving – was 246,000 in the year to March. The Government wants to cut that to below 100,000 – a target backed by Theresa May.

Alp Mehmet, of the think-tank MigrationWatch UK, said: ‘Assuming a good many people stay in the country indefinitely, this is another damning indication of the levels of migration that are taking place.

  25. French woman accusing Tariq Ramadan of rape placed under police protection

Henda Ayari, the first woman who came forward against Swiss Islamist thinker Tariq Ramadan on rape allegations, has been was placed under police protection after receiving death threats and insults, her lawyer said on Wednesday.

According to the lawyer, the former Salafist-turned-secular feminist has been harassed for nearly a month via messages on Facebook and Twitter, her answering machine, and by people who come ringing at her home.

“This is not trivial, these facts are punishable by three years of imprisonment, it must stop,” Jonas Haddad, Ayari’s lawyer, said.

Rouen prosecutor Pascal Prache confirmed the complaint and presence of death threats and said that the investigations are ongoing.

In her complaint, Ayari mentions the fact that she was called a “whore, paid by the Jews and the Zionists”.

Ramadan is currently under investigation in Paris for “rape, sexual assault, violence and death threats” against two women, including Ayari.

    • “She began to question the patriarchal Salafist strictures that command adherents to obey the example of the prophet unquestioningly, and that seemed arranged particularly to suit men.

Eventually, Ms. Ayari fled with her children. But restarting her life as a single mother while grappling with a crisis of faith proved to be too big a leap. She suffered a nervous breakdown and lost custody of her children for two years.

The internet, and particularly Facebook, has been her companion along the way. As she started questioning the extreme ideology of Salafism, she began following the teaching of Mr. Ramadan, who became an online instructor and mentor, eventually suggesting they meet in Paris where he was attending a conference.

She said she viewed him as a saint, and was shocked and terrified by what she says was his violent assault and his threats to her to remain silent afterward.”

  26. Court Documents Raise Significant Questions About Leigh Corfman’s Accusations Against Roy Moore

Court documents involving Leigh Corfman, who says that Alabama senatorial candidate Roy Moore tried to engage in a sexual encounter with her when she was 14, raise questions about the timeline and narrative of Corfman’s accusations against the politician.

Those accusations were first publicly disclosed in a Washington Post story citing Corfman and her mother, Nancy Wells, as saying that in early 1979, Roy Moore, then a 32-year-old assistant district attorney, allegedly asked Wells to watch her fourteen-year-old daughter while Wells went into a courtroom for a custody hearing.

Corfman claims that Moore asked the young Corfman for her number. “Days later, she says, he picked her up around the corner from her house in Gadsden,” the Post story states, referring to her mother’s home in Gadsden. Corfman’s parents were divorced.

The first private meeting was arranged after Moore called Corfman on her home phone at her mother’s house, Corfman alleges.

  28. A mother-of-two has claimed Sleeping Beauty should be banned in primary schools because the story contains problematic themes of “sexual behaviour and consent”.

Sarah Hall, from Newcastle, said she was disturbed by the non-consensual kissing in the classic fairytale when the prince wakes up the sleeping princess with a kiss on the lips.

“I think it’s a specific issue in the Sleeping Beauty story about sexual behaviour and consent,” she told the Sun.

“While we are still seeing narratives like this in school, we are never going to change ingrained attitudes to sexual behaviour. All these things build up, and they make a difference.”

Ms Hall said the story should be limited to older children who are able to understand the concept of consent.

“In today’s society, it isn’t appropriate,” she added.

“My son is only six-years-old and he absorbs everything he sees and it isn’t as if I can turn it into a constructive conversation.

“I actually think it would be a great resource for older children, you could have a conversation around it, you could talk about consent, and how the Princess might feel.

“But I’m really concerned about it for younger children, and I would really welcome a conversation about whether this is suitable material.”

  29. euronews – Hungary’s fear factor

    ( 15 min 49 )

Wether they target immigrants, the EU, liberalism, homosexuals, or the US jewish and hungarian born billionaire George Soros, the radical narratives spread by the ruling Fidesz party and the far right movements are gaining ground in the hungarian society. A few months ahead of the next parliamentary elections, euronews reporter Valerie Gauriat traveled to Hungary to hear from both supporters and opponents of the mainstream war of words against what hungarian Prime minister Viktor Orbán considers…

    Wether:

    weth·er — ?weT?H?r/ – noun

    noun: wether; plural noun: wethers

    A castrated ram.

For the nonce, we’ll ignore whatever inability involved that there was to merely capitalize such words as, “jewish” or “hungarian”.

Once again, I will staunchly advocate that, all of us in the counterjihad maintain scrupulous punctuation and spelling as part of establishing the greatest credibility possible with respect to crushing (as in recruiting all other possible comrades in the cause of remorselessly) and eradicating Islam.

Am I spotless in my posting? Certainly not! Do I regularly twice or thrice proofread my contributions before clicking the “Post Comment” button? You’d best believe it!

If only out of the deepest respect for your own sensibilities, not to mention maintaining the integrity of Vlad Tepes Blog, I make this effort and refuse to apologize at any point.

While this is, most certainly a “kinetic” (hat tip, Richard) war, we also are—to an equal (if not larger degree)—in a war of words. Any failure to address this profound of precise language need is a shortcoming that all of us are more than capable of avoiding.

Just as we deserve better from our disgusting “politicians”, so do any and all who read our—or just my own—posts (here or elsewhere) deserve grammatical excellence from every one of us.

    Warmest Thanksgiving wishes,

Of course, such a declamation of mine could only be bracketed by serious errors.

    • I didn’t even notice that the “h” was missing —- just copied and pasted the text that was on the euronews YT page

......my own description of that repulsive video would have been totally different ...and probably full of syntactic errors , misspellings, typos etc

      • Lets don’t go that far, I make grammar mistakes all the time. I plead old age and back pain and/or the prescription pain killers .
