The ‘Jihadi Granny’ said she followed her eldest son to Syria in order to support him and spend time with him, in case he faced an early death.

Rivière’s son, Tylor Vilus, converted to Islam in 2011 at the age of 21. He quickly became radicalized, moving to Tunisia to engage with jihadist groups there.

She followed him to Tunisia, also converted, and began following her son’s radicalized views…”

  4. Suffocating Academic Free Speech
The fascist Left tightens the screws on the American campus.
    October 6, 2017
    Richard L. Cravatts

As the left exhibits paroxysms of moral outrage since the presidential election, the symptoms of Trump Derangement Syndrome are increasingly evident on university campuses.

One such instance of this irrationality was on full display in August at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln when Katie Mullen, president of the school’s Turning Point USA chapter, was verbally harassed by leftist professors after she had set up a promotional table for the organization.

A video recording of the events shows a graduate teaching assistant and PhD student, Courtney Lawton, giving the middle finger to Mullen while carrying a sign saying, “Just say No! to Neo-Fascism!” and shouting “Neo-fascist Becky right here. Wants to destroy public schools, public universities, hates DACA kids,” “fuck Charlie Kirk [founder and executive director of Turning Point USA],” and “TPUSA Nazis,” among other repellent slurs.

Another professor, Amanda Gailey (founder of Nebraskans Against Gun Violence and virulent critic of police and gun owners), taunted Mullen with a sign that stated, “Turning Point: please put me on your watchlist,” and others passing by aggressively accused the conservative student of being a white nationalist, a member of the Ku Klux Klan, and a fascist.

  5. Swiss ‘Sugar Mama’ Faces Jail for Trafficking Younger Migrant Boyfriend (breitbart, Oct 6, 2017)
    http://www.breitbart.com/london/2017/10/06/older-swiss-woman-faces-jail-illegally-smuggling-much-younger-migrant-boyfriend/

“Swiss national Barbara Schwager, 56, faces potential prison time in Switzerland after she smuggled her 27-year-old illegal migrant boyfriend out of Switzerland to avoid his deportation back to Pakistan.

The 56-year-old claims that she wants to marry her much younger partner Nadeem Akram in order to get him legal residence in Switzerland, Blick reports.

Initially, the pair were arrested attempting to cross the German-Austrian border and were both jailed. Schwager was sent back to Switzerland to her hometown of Ettenhausen along with Akram who was told by Swiss authorities that he was required to report to the local migration office in the Canton of Thurgau.

Fearing that Akram would be deported back to Pakistan, Schwager decided to drive herself and her young lover to Italy to avoid his potential deportation.

Police were likely well-informed of the pair’s activities as they decided to grant an interview with local media and tell their “love story” shortly before they departed for Italy.

“The police came by and interrogated our neighbours,” Schwager said and complained that the couple has limited resources in their current home in Tuscany. “A wedding is possible at the earliest in six months. We have no work, no money, and Nadeem is illegal here,” she said.

After the Swiss authorities found out where she was, they sent a letter demanding 950 Swiss Francs in fines including 400 Swiss Francs after she was convicted of promoting illegal migration.

Schwager said she does not have the money to pay the fine. She will face up to four days in jail if the fines are not paid…”

  6. Migrant Youth Gangs Turn Berlin Area into Borderline No-Go Zone (breitbart, Oct 6, 2017)
    http://www.breitbart.com/london/2017/10/06/migrant-youth-gangs-turn-berlin-area-borderline-no-go-zone/

“The area around the Alexanderplatz metro in Berlin has become a centre for migrant youth gang violence and drugs, leaving the police to lose control and the district to demand more resources to fight the lawlessness.

The situation around Alexanderplatz has rapidly deteriorated due to the ongoing fights between rival migrant gangs from Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, and North Africa.

The local government has decided to increase the police presence in the area by building a new police station and hiring two social workers to encourage the young migrants not to commit crimes, but some are sceptical of the move, Berliner-Kurier reports.

The left-wing coalition government plan is to hire the two social workers to act as contacts and look after the young migrant men during the day. Also planned is a small new police station which is to be set up at the construction site near the metro station.

Some, like conservative Christian Democratic Union (CDU) politician Stefan Evers, are less optimistic about the efficacy of the plans. Evers, who is the CDU’s city development policy spokesman, said: “A new police station and social workers alone will not solve the problems at Alexanderplatz.”…”

  7. Number of Violent Jihadists in Germany up 64 Per Cent to over 1,800 (breitbart, Oct 6, 2017)
    http://www.breitbart.com/london/2017/10/06/number-violent-jihadists-germany-over-1800/

“The German Federal Agency for the Protection of the Constitution, the country’s domestic intelligence service, claims there are now more than 1,800 violent jihadists in the country and the number continues to grow.

President of the domestic spy agency Hans-Georg Maassen announced the figures at a press conference on Thursday at the Bundestag in Berlin. He also warned of a growing trend in German primary schools which are seeing a rise in the popularity of radical Islamic ideas amongst students, Kronen Zeitung reports.

The number of violent jihadis is a dramatic increase compared to August of last year when the intelligence agency said they suspected there were 1,100 jihadists in the country, reflecting a 64 per cent increase.

The number of radical Islamic believers, also known as Salafists, has also climbed to over 10,000 and is still the fastest growing sect of Islam in Germany…”

  8. ‘Mafia Effect’ Keeps Islamic Terrorism at Bay in Italy: Report (breitbart, Oct 6, 2017)
    http://www.breitbart.com/london/2017/10/06/report-mafia-effect-keeps-islamic-terrorism-bay-italy/

“Italy has managed to avoid the brutal consequences of Islamist terrorism thanks to its decades-long war on powerful organized crime, according to a new article in the UK-based Economist magazine.

“The fight against Italy’s formidably organised criminals has given its police a wealth of experience in monitoring tightly knit target groups,” the article states. “It was enhanced by the campaign to subdue the left- and right-wing terrorists who wrought havoc in Italy in the 1970s and 1980s.”

Despite repeated threats against Italy, and Rome in particular, the Islamic State has so far been thwarted in its efforts to bring down the wrath of Allah on the Italian peninsula.

In one of its videos titled “Meeting at Dabiq,” the Islamic State portrayed its vision of the end of the world culminating in an epic battle in Rome between Islam and the West. The film depicted Islamist militants marching toward Rome’s Coliseum and foretold of a final battle for world domination to be fought in Rome between Islamist true believers and Western “crusaders.”

Yet although Italy is a prime target for jihadists, it stands out as one of the only European countries to have never suffered loss of life to Islamic terrorism.

According to the Economist, experience with the Mafia has “encouraged judges to take a more expansive attitude than in other European countries to issuing warrants for wiretaps and particularly to the electronic surveillance of suspects’ conversations.”

“Italy’s recent history may also explain its hardline approach to apologists for terrorism,” it reads.

But experts suggest that Italy’s experience with the Mafia does not fully explain its success in eluding Islamic terrorist attacks.

“The main difference is Italy doesn’t have a big population of second-generation immigrants that have been radicalised or could potentially be radicalised,” said Francesca Galli, an assistant professor at Maastricht University and an expert in counter-terrorism policies.

According to the Pew Research Center, Italy’s Muslim population is only about half that of France, both as a percentage of its overall population and in absolute terms. The percentage of Muslims living in Italy is also substantially lower than it is Germany, Belgium, or Great Britain.

A smaller Muslim population means that ghettoized areas that have become seedbeds of Islamic terror in Paris’s St. Denis area or the Molenbeek district of Brussels simply do not exist in Italy. With its current crisis of mass immigration from northern Africa, the situation in Italy may be different in the future, but for the moment there are fewer opportunities for Islamic radicalization in Italy.

Italian counterterrorism units are also notoriously unapologetic about adopting measures that more squeamish cultures shy away from, another result of years of fighting organized crime. Strategic and tactical differences include a greater willingness to profile potential terrorists and to immediately deport foreigners who pose a terror threat.

According to the Italy’s interior ministry, counterterrorism forces stopped and questioned 160,593 people between March 2016 to March 2017. They also interrogated some 34,000 people at airports and arrested around 550 suspected terrorists, sentencing 38 on terrorism charges. They have also shut down over 500 websites while monitoring nearly half a million more.”

  9. The Goal of Western Leaders: Avoid Change, Duck Accountability

    by Douglas Murray
    October 6, 2017 at 5:00 am

    https://www.gatestoneinstitute.org/11110/western-leaders-accountability

In Europe today, it is what goes unacknowledged and un-commemorated that reveals the trouble we are in.

There are plenty of public campaigns and calls by politicians to demonstrate “awareness” of things that are either non-existent problems or second-order problems. Earlier this year, for instance, the President of Austria came up with an eye-catching initiative. Addressing the ban on women wearing full-face coverings in public places, Alexander van der Bellen, the former leader of the Green Party, said:

“If this real and rampant Islamophobia continues, there will come a day where we must ask all women to wear a headscarf — all — out of solidarity to those who do it for religious reasons.”

That day has not yet come. Non-Muslim women across Austria have not yet all been asked to wear the headscarf in solidarity with Muslim women who wear the headscarf. But it is possible that they will be asked to do so in the near future, whenever the President of Austria or another senior figure decides that “Islamophobia” has become even more “rampant” and that this requires all the women of Austria to cover their heads. By contrast, after real and deadly attacks on women across Europe, nobody knows precisely what to do.

  10. Muslim Brotherhood Has $100b. International Budget’

The Muslim Brotherhood has at least $100 billion at its disposal for work outside of its Egyptian base, according to Islamist Groups expert Sameh Eid.

The cash is designated for dawa – the spreading of Islamic ideology both among Muslims and non-Muslims, Eid told the An Hour From Egypt TV show on August 25.

Eid claims the Brotherhood is diverting donor money that is pledged for use in places like Afghanistan and Bosnia Herzegovina. These donations end up in the coffers of the Muslim Brotherhood instead.

Individual members give the organization eight percent of their salaries.

The Brotherhood uses its $100b. in projects in some 80 countries.

The Muslim Brotherhood (Al-Ihkwan al-Muslimun) is a Sunni, pan-Islamic organization based in Cairo, Egypt whose ultimate aim is the re-establishment of the global Islamic caliphate and the implementation of sharia as state law. Founded in Egypt in 1928 it is the oldest Islamist group in the world and along with Jamaat e-Islami in Pakistan and India, the most influential.

  11. ISIS is STILL saying it carried out the Las Vegas massacre (express, Oct 6, 2017)
    http://www.express.co.uk/news/world/863340/ISIS-claim-responsibility-for-Las-Vegas-massacre-Stephen-Paddock-convert-to-Islam

“ISIS is still claiming responsibility for the Las Vegas massacre after gunman Stephen Paddock allegedly converted to Islam six months ago.

The claim came as American investigators scrambled to understand the motive for the worst shooting in living memory on US soil, leaving 58 dead an 515 injured.

But IS experts are sceptical that the 64-year-old was linked to the terror group.

The FBI said it had so far found “no connection” between him and any international terrorist group.

Paul Cruickshank from the US-based Combating Terrorism Center said: “ISIS in recent months has made a number of demonstrably false claims for attacks and incidents that had no jihadi terror nexus.”

One theory is that, as the extremists face military defeat on the territory they once held in Iraq and Syria, they are seeking to generate publicity to show they are still a force to their supporters.

Mr Cruickshank added: “ISIS, desperate for attention, will claim just about anything these days knowing their supporters won’t believe the government or media.”

French Interior Minister Gerard Collomb made the same point on Tuesday, saying the group “tended to claim every attack” in order to “maintain a presence in the media space.”

Islamic State specialist Shiraz Maher wrote on Twitter that if the Las Vegas shooter “is a convert and made contact with ISIS, someone would have to know. Friends, family, law enforcement will shed light on that.”

Earlier this week, ISIS released a chilling video bragging that the Las Vegas shooting massacre was revenge for US attacks against the caliphate.

ISIS accuses America of “being at the forefront of the aggression towards the Islamic State”.

The group warns “we are an Islamic army that has been accepted by a large number of Muslims worldwide, so effectively any aggression towards IS is aggression towards Muslims from all walks of life”.

The video also blames US President Donald Trump for ignoring their previous warnings.

ISIS’s Amaq news agency, said: “The Las Vegas attack was carried out by a soldier of the Islamic State and he carried it out in response to calls to target states of the coalition (in Iraq).”

In a later statement from ISIS, the militant group referred to the Las Vegas attacker by the name of “Abu Abd al-Bar al-Ameriki”.

US authorities said the gunman, who lived in a retirement home in Mesquite, Nevada, was armed with more than 10 rifles, and opened fire on a Las Vegas country music festival on Sunday night from a 32nd-floor hotel window.

The gunman killed himself before police entered the hotel room he was shooting from, police said.

Authorities have yet to identify a motive for the shooting.”

The men allegedly plotted to place explosives in both Times Square and the New York City subway before their attack was thwarted by police.

The tourist hub of Times Square attracts 33,000 people every day.

US prosecutors have revealed the alleged attacks were being planned on behalf of ISIS ins summer 2016.

The Islamist fundamentalist group Hefazat-e-Islam Bangladesh held a rally in Chittagong, Friday, demanding an immediate end to the persecution of Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar’s Rakhine state. Some of Hefazat leaders reportedly argued for arming all Rohingya refugees, if necessary.

  14. Husband stabs wife to death after restraining order is lifted in Turkey’s Tekirda? (hurriyetdailynews, Oct 6, 2017)
    http://www.hurriyetdailynews.com/husband-stabs-wife-to-death-after-restraining-order-is-lifted-in-turkeys-tekirdag-120458

“A man in northwest Turkey has stabbed his wife to death on the same day as a restraining order on him was lifted.

Hasan Yumu?ak, 63, killed his wife Fatma Yumu?ak, 53, at the address where she was living with her two children in the Marmara province of Tekirda?’s Süleymanpa?a district on Oct. 5.

The husband reportedly stabbed his wife 16 times before fleeing from the scene.

Police teams and ambulances were dispatched to scene upon calls from neighbors and the body of the killed woman was taken to the forensic morgue at Tekirda? State Hospital for an autopsy.

Hasan Yumu?ak was subsequently captured by police while in his vehicle, which was parked by the side of the Tekirda?–Malkara highway. He was taken to the police headquarters to give his testimony.

Officials say the murder was committed on the same day as the restraining order imposed on the man for his wife was lifted.

Violence against women is among Turkey’s bleeding wounds, with reports of the killing of woman – including those officially under state protection – occurring almost every day.

On Oct. 3 woman who took refuge in a women’s shelter due to being subjected to violence by her husband was killed by him in the northern province of Kastamonu.

The woman, identified only as Naime K., applied to the Family and Social Policies Ministry to escape from her husband’s violence six months ago and had been staying at a protection shelter ever since.”

  15. PKK, Turkish security forces clash in Turkey’s Mu?la (hurriyetdailynews, Oct 6, 2017)
    http://www.hurriyetdailynews.com/pkk-turkish-security-forces-clash-in-turkeys-mugla-120475

“A clash between outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) militants and Turkish security forces occurred on Oct. 6 in an operation launched after five PKK militants were killed in the Aegean province of Mu?la.

Turkish security forces had killed five PKK militants in Mu?la’s Köyce?iz district in an operation a day before, on Oct. 5. Police and gendarmerie forces began the operation to capture two more PKK militants who were determined to be in the area.

A major was reported to be slightly injured from his leg during the clash. The military dispatched a helicopter to the area for the major’s treatment.

Meanwhile, 68 PKK militants were “neutralized” in counter-terrorism operations in Turkey between Sept. 28 and Oct. 4, the military said on Oct. 6.

In a written statement, the Turkish General Staff said 13 soldiers were also killed and 23 others were wounded during the operations.

The operations were carried out in the southeastern provinces of ??rnak’s Beytü?ebap, Cizre and Silopi districts, Hakkari’s Yüksekova district, Siirt’s Baykan and Eruh districts, Diyarbak?r’s Lice and some other districts.

During the operations, 68 militants had been “neutralized,” while 78 arms, including rifles and machine guns, 55 hand grenades, seven mines, 3,719 small arms ammunition, 45 magazines, 238 kilograms of ammonium nitrate, 400 kilograms of demolition blocks, two binoculars, five walkie-talkies and 79 tubes were seized.

In addition, 22 improvised explosives were destroyed in controlled detonations and 62 weapon emplacements, shelters, caves and depots used by the PKK were destroyed.

Operations were also being carried out against illegal trafficking and drugs, which are believed to be the PKK’s source of income. As a result, 301,121 packets of smuggled cigarettes and 100 liters of liquid fuel were seized.

During border patrols, 15,571 people were detained for trying to cross the border illegally.

Moreover, one Turkish soldier was injured in a gun battle after security forces carried out an air-backed operation against a PKK militant in Siirt, a military official said on Oct. 6.

The operation was conducted in the Eruh district, the official, who asked not to be named due to restrictions on talking to the media, told state-run Anadolu Agency.

The wounded soldier was taken to the Siirt State Hospital.

In Mu?la, security forces seized scores of weapons and ammunition in the Köyce?iz district, a police official said.

The arms and ammunition included one Kalashnikov rifle with five magazines, two M-16 guns with 10 magazines, three pistols with three magazines, 21 hand grenades, five kilograms of explosives and four packages of 5.56 mm cartridges.”

  16. Twenty percent of children in Switzerland are victims of domestic violence, says report (thelocal, Oct 6, 2017)
    https://www.thelocal.ch/20171006/twenty-percent-of-children-in-switzerland-are-victims-of-domestic-violence-says-report

“A new study by the Zurich University of Applied Sciences and Arts has found that one in five children in Switzerland is beaten in their domestic environment.

The study, seen exclusively by German-language Swiss daily Aargauer Zeitung, highlights worrying levels of domestic abuse aimed at children in Switzerland.

A family’s financial security has a strong bearing on how children are treated, argues the report. Violence towards children is twice as high in families who receive social benefits and live closer to the poverty line.

Tradition and culture can also play a part, according to the study.

Forty percent of children of parents from former Yugoslavian countries, namely Macedonia, Kosovo and Serbia, experience violence in the home. More than a third of children of parents of Portuguese heritage also experience regular domestic abuse, adds the report.

According to the study’s author, Dirk Baier, certain Diasporas have a stronger culture of domestic violence than others. The report is based on interviews with 10,000 17-year-olds in Switzerland.

Two out of five children are vulnerable to physical reproaches or “lighter forms of violence,” in the daily’s words; the flick of an ear or a slap.

The study argues that 20 percent of children in Switzerland live in “serious danger” because of violence; an extra 42.3 percent are threatened by “light violence,” while 37 percent of children in Switzerland are free of violence at home.”
