A Jewish-Catholic Partnership against Islamist Violence?

The Chief Rabbinates of world Jewry apparently want to partner with the Vatican to combat radical Islam. In a recent letter, they proposed a formal alliance between Judaism and Catholicism, calling “upon the [Catholic] Church to join us in deepening our combat against our generation’s new barbarism, namely the radical offshoots of Islam.”
This extraordinary alliance would unite Orthodox Jewry and the Holy See against their common enemy, jihadist Islam. The Rabbinates’ letter identifies “the very real danger facing many Christians in the Middle East and elsewhere as they are persecuted and menaced by violence and death at the hands of those who invoke God’s Name in vain through violence and terror.”
The authors of this missive to Pope Francis — the Chief Rabbinate of Israel (CRI), the Conference of European Rabbis (CER), and the Rabbinical Council of America (RCA) — represent the vast majority of the world’s Orthodox Jews. Representatives of Judaism’s Conservative and Reform wings did not sign the letter. Seemingly, any successful efforts by the Orthodox community to elicit the support of Conservative and Reform Jewish leaders would further strengthen the initiative’s standing in the Vatican.
This is a good start!
Observant Jews, not Jew-ish globalists, are speaking up and reaching out to old-fashioned, practicing Catholics. Given the current power structure, it won’t go far, but it’s a healthy sign.
The Orthodox Rabbinate has ALL the power in Israel and NONE in the Diaspora.[*] Out here all the money and power is socked into the corporate secular organizations bent on serving the Enemy. Sort of like the World Council of Churches and the Vatican, Inc.
Fine people, like Ron Lauder and Mortimer Zuckerman, represent their constituencies to Presidents and Prime Ministers. You’ll hear them “deplore all forms of racism and Islamophobia.” Jew-ish community leaders in France “abhorred” Marine Le Pen, while those in Germany expressed “misgivings” about the AfD.
The Orthodox interface with the world has traditionally been through the Chief Rabbis. These are religious authorities in different countries or sometimes big cities. They’re men of exceptional scholarship, often scions of rabbinic dynasties.

Emphatically observant and politically conservative, an outsider wouldn’t know they exist in normal times. But right now they must address the acute danger to the Orthodox communities they represent.
This is the visible minority most at risk from the rabid, swelling umma. PC blather from the Chief Rabbis would be criminal negligence. Been there, done that.

Multiple Foreign Nationals Criminally Charged For U.S. Election Fraud
A county-level grand jury in Ohio indicted several foreign nationals for election fraud related to the 2012 and 2016 presidential elections.
Franklin County Prosecutor Ron O’Brien announced Thursday that the Franklin County Grand Jury returned indictments against seven foreign nationals who allegedly voted illegally in recent U.S. elections.
Originally, the Secretary of State and Ohio Attorney General referred 36 cases to O’Brien’s office of non-citizens who “had registered and/or voted in recent elections in Franklin County.”
After further investigation by the Board of Elections and Franklin County Prosecutor’s Office, seven foreign nationals, who were not U.S. citizens, were criminally charged “for registering and voting in elections” in Franklin County.
