  1. This disruptive presence is very heartening, as Munich is a traditional home base for the German Christian Social Union (GCSU) party. Being the southernmost German metropolis also means that Munich has received some of that nation’s greatest exposure to newly arrived (i.e., the least well-behaved) “immigrants”, both from Austria (through Italy) and, to a lesser extent, via France.

At the very least, that noticeable dip in 2016 Oktoberfest attendance—in part, related to concern about terror attacks—should still be reverberating in their Handelskammer (i.e., chamber of commerce) and throughout the city’s massive tourist industry.

Back to politics: For the number of Bundestag seats, the GCSU is third (with 56) after the Christian Democratic Union of Germany (255), and the Social Democratic Party of Germany (193). While this may not seem significant, the CDUG relies upon its strong alliance with the GCSU to create a steamroller coalition. Without the GCSU’s extra 56 votes, it could be far more vulnerable to challenges by the (even) farther-left SDP.

This open rebellion by die Munichers signals the formation of definite cracks in Merkel’s political façade. Will it be enough to stop her [gasp!] FOURTH reelection? Probably not [sigh].

Will this rising opposition undergo sufficient growth during her fourth term to where Merkel’s pro-EU policies encounter serious obstacles? We, and all of Germany, can only hope so.

At the very least, one thing is for sure. This will be Germany’s indelible lesson regarding the importance and value of political term limits. How sad that it comes at the cost of near-total destruction for German culture.

  2. The disruption does show large scale unrest over and disgust with Merkel. I am also taking great pleasure in the fact that at this late date 20 to 30% of the people polled are saying undecided. When this happened in the big cities last year in our election a very large number of the “undecided” were voting for Trump but were afraid to say they were. Hopefully the same thing is happening in Germany.

  3. Unfortunately, these noisy protests are sedate compared to what we all know is coming. The leftists have not only seeded every city, small town and countryside with the muslim hordes, but have infiltrated this mortal enemy into the police and military. No matter who is elected, the stage has been set.

Few people can imagine the horrors and atrocities that will sweep across Europe. What we’ve seen so far has been Patty Cake compared to what’s coming. It’s going to be a long, hard, bloody fight and alot of good people will suffer and be lost.

Too right! Without wishing to diminish the horrors that have happened, everything to date has been a walk in the proverbial park. The tsunami of violence that threatens to wash over Europe will sweep millions of lives before it. Righteous Europeans would be well-advised to ensure that the EU collaborators and willkommenskultur types are given rough justice when that time arrives.
