  1. ‘High-quality refugee boats’ for sale on Chinese website, despite EU criticism (middleeasteye, Aug 8, 2017)
    http://www.middleeasteye.net/news/chinese-businesses-target-people-smugglers-high-quality-refugee-boat-sales-350372488

“Chinese manufacturers are advertising inflatable dinghies as “high-quality refugee boats” in an attempt to market them to people-smugglers in the Mediterranean, despite the EU asking China to clamp down on the practice.

The sales, carried on the website of Chinese e-commerce giant Alibaba, offer buyers a ‘high-quality refugee boat’ for between $800-1,100. According to the web page, the boats, constructed out of plywood, aluminium and PVC, can carry 25-30 passengers.

  2. North Korea threatens to attack Guam

North Korea is mulling a possible missile strike on Guam, where strategic US bombers and countless soldiers are based.

The Hermit Kingdom’s official news agency announced early Wednesday local time that the nation was “carefully examining” plans for a medium-to-long range rocket attack.

Their statement came just hours after President Trump threatened to unleash “fire and fury” on the North “like the world has never seen.”

His warning was in response to reports that Pyongyang had developed a nuclear warhead capable of fitting inside its ballistic missiles.

Guam — which is known as the “Tip of the Spear — is home to thousands of American service members and their families.

North Korea’s state-run news agency, KCNA, said Tuesday that the government was looking at an “operational plan” that would send numerous medium-to-long-range strategic ballistic missiles towards the US-owned Pacific island to counteract the bombers that are positioned there and “send a serious warning signal to the US.”

  3. Malaysia: Girl who married rapist is ‘fine’ – women’s minister (asiancorrespondent, Aug 8, 2017)
    https://asiancorrespondent.com/2017/08/malaysia-girl-married-rapist-fine-womens-minister/#xMfGH03V7MzBzIrH.97

“MALAYSIA’s top government official for women’s issues has declared a teenager married to her adult rapist is “doing fine.”

The country’s Women, Family and Community Development Minister Rohani Abdul Karim said in a parliamentary statement a 16-year-old, whose rapist Riduan Masmud, 42, took as a second wife to avoid being prosecuted, had not been to school since she was attacked, but was healthy.

“We visited the girl at her family home on April 18 and she was in good health while the husband is serving his time,” said Rohani as quoted by The Star newspaper.

Back in 2015, Riduan was jailed for 12 years and given two strokes of the cane in Sabah for sexually assaulting the then-12-year-old schoolgirl two years prior.

“The girl had also voiced her intention to work so she could be self-sufficient. The parents also informed us they had no problem in taking care of her,” said Rohani, who is of the ruling Barisan Nasional coalition, this week.

Rohani also noted according to a welfare officer’s report from 2014, the victim had not wanted to return to school because of high-profile media coverage of her case, and was staying home to look after her younger siblings.

The minister said the victim visited her husband in prison in Kota Kinabalu back in January, reported the Malay Mail Online.

At the time of his crime in February 2013, Riduan was a father of four children aged between two and 17 years old. He married the victim in May to escape conviction, but was charged by police after he tried to pay a bribe of RM10,000 (US$2,334) to the victim’s father…”

  4. Middle Eastern Degenerate Arrested for Groping The Wrong Victim

08/07/2017 Source: AAN by: Remington Strelivo

New York City police have arrested an immigrant from Bangladesh—after sexually assaulting an off-duty female police officer on a subway train.

Fun Kamruzzaman, 27, was traveling through Queens on Friday when he exposed himself to a woman, and rubbed his genitals on her.

Kamruzzaman didn’t know that the woman, who was not in NYPD uniform, was actually an off-duty police officer. She briefly fought back with Kamruzzaman, before he fled the train, leaving his backpack behind.

Kamruzzaman was caught on security footage, minutes after the attack, running down the street with his shirt off. He was arrested Saturday, and has since been charged with forcible touching and sex abuse.

  5. U.S., Japanese Analysts Agree: North Korea Has Developed Nuclear Missile Warheads

    http://www.breitbart.com/national-security/2017/08/08/u-s-japanese-analysts-agree-north-korea-developed-nuclear-missile-warheads/

A grim milestone appears to be passing, as both U.S. and Japanese intelligence analysts believe North Korea has developed the technology to miniaturize nuclear warheads and fit them inside long-range missiles, years ahead of schedule.

Japan’s annual defense review, released on Tuesday morning, described the threat from North Korea’s nuclear missile program as “acute.”

“It is conceivable that North Korea’s nuclear weapons program has already considerably advanced and it is possible that North Korea has already achieved the miniaturization of nuclear weapons and has acquired nuclear warheads,” the white paper warned. “Since last year, when it forcibly implemented two nuclear tests and more than 20 ballistic missile launches, the security threats have entered a new stage.”

Accordingly, the BBC reported that Japan has begun its first civilian air-raid drills since the end of World War II, evidently stepping up a program revealed earlier this year which taught civilians in certain towns how to deal with an errant North Korean test missile (or perhaps a weapon fired at American military installations in Japan) falling in a populated area.

  6. Detained Punjabi insurgent unveil role of Pakistani Islamists in Afghanistan (khaama, Aug 8, 2017)
    http://www.khaama.com/detained-punjabi-insurgent-unveil-role-of-pakistani-islamists-in-afghanistan-03313

“A detained insurgent belonging to Punjab province of Pakistan has unveiled the role of the Islamist groups in the ongoing violence in Afghanistan.

The insurgent, identified Esmatullah, was arrested in southeastern Paktia province of Afghanistan, lying close to Durand Line with the tribal regions of Pakistan.

Esmatullah made the confessions during a press conference organized by the Afghan security institutions.

He admitted that he was attracted to insurgent groups and was trained by Lashkar-e-Jhangvi, Sepa-e-Sahaba, and Jish-e-Mohammadi groups.

According to Esmatullah, the Islamist leaders, Mawlavi Sahak of Lashkar-e-Jhangvi, Mawlavi Iqbl of Sepa-e-Sahaba, and Dr. Shukor of Jish-e-Mohammadi are attracting the insurgents by luring them to terrorist camps under the name of Jihad.

Esmatullah further added that the named Islamist leaders are claiming that the Muslims are under suppression Afghanistan facing cruelty and their lives, properties, and dignity are under the risk.

T his comes as the officials have long been insisting that the Afghan militant groups, specifically the Haqqani terrorist network are having freedom of actions and sanctuaries under the support of certain elements in Pakistan from where they plan and launch attacks in Afghanistan.

The United States Department of States also released its latest reports regarding terrorism for 2016 last month, providing an overall report regarding the terrorism related upheavals during the year.

The new report by the State Department further strengthens the claims made by the Afghan officials regarding the presence of the safe havens of the Taliban and Haqqani terrorist network inside the Pakistani territory.

“Afghanistan, in particular, continued to experience aggressive and coordinated attacks by the Afghan Taliban, including the affiliated Haqqani Network (HQN) and other insurgent and terrorist groups,” the report stated.

The Department of State also added that a number of these attacks were planned and launched from safe havens in Pakistan.”

  7. The Latest Anti-Trump Weapon: Accusing Their Critics of “Racism”

In addition to falsely accusing their political enemies of criminal conduct, some extremists, who are determined to see Donald Trump indicted, have come up with a new weapon: accusing those who disagree with them of “racism.”

It began when I said in public what every experienced criminal lawyer was thinking in private:

One of the two men was seriously injured in the fire and subsequent explosion and had to be treated in hospital. Five others were also slightly injured, mostly due to smoke inhalation and small wounds inflicted by flying debris, police told The Local.

The other man suspected to be behind the explosion was arrested after he turned himself in to police.

  11. Two dead and three injured in fire at house for homeless and refugees (thelocal, Aug 7, 2017)
    https://www.thelocal.de/20170807/two-dead-and-three-injured-in-house-for-homeless-and-refugees

“A fire at a housing unit in southern Germany for homeless people and refugees killed two people and seriously injured three others early on Monday morning.

Police were alerted at about 2am to the fire in a social housing unit in Markgröningen, outside of Stuttgart in Baden-Württemberg. A 54-year-old woman and a 56-year-old man died during the fire, most likely due to smoke inhalation, police said. Three other people were seriously injured.

Initial investigations suggest that the fire started in the kitchen of the building.

The housing unit serves ten residents, including homeless people and asylum seekers. Nine people were inside the building at the time of the fire.

Two men aged 45 and 60 had to be resuscitated by emergency workers, according to police. They were then brought to hospital with life-threatening injuries. The third person wounded in the fire was also taken to hospital.

The remaining residents were taken to a hotel nearby.

Firefighters were able to put out the fire on Monday morning.

The head of the fire department, Hans-Hermann Kefer, has so far ruled out the possibility that the fire was an attack on the building.

“The fragments fell very clearly from inside to the outside,” Kefer said.

Investigators say it appears that the fire started in a kitchen on the ground floor, and then the smoke spread to the rest of the house by wafting up the stairwell.

“The plaster from the walls was totally broken down, and the house was completely filled with smoke,” Kefer added.

“I assume that [the two] died due to smoke inhalation, not because of the fire.”

Around 150 emergency workers were at the scene on Monday morning. Kefer said he believed that the building would have to be completely refurbished, and police estimated the damage would amount to around €100,000.”

  12. Pakistani Taliban launches women’s magazine for would-be jihadists (france24, Aug 8, 2017)
    http://www.france24.com/en/20170808-pakistan-taliban-women-magazine-jihad-weapons-islamic-state-group

“The Pakistani Taliban has launched a women’s magazine aimed at encouraging women to take up arms and practise jihad.

Titled Sunnat-i-Khaula, which translates as “The Way of Khaula” – in reference to a 7th-century female Muslim poetess who was close to the Prophet Mohammed, the front cover of its inaugural issue features a woman veiled from head to toe.

“We want to provoke women of Islam to come forward and join the ranks of mujahideen,” reads an opening editorial.

“Organise secret gatherings at home and invite like-minded jihadi sisters,” the editorial continues. “Distribute literature reflecting on the obligation of jihad, arrange physical training classes for sisters. Learn how to operate simple weapons. Learn the use of grenades.”

The digitally distributed, 45-page magazine has been published by Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), also known as the Pakistani Taliban, the most dangerous radical Islamist group operating in Pakistan.

Target readership: educated teens and mothers

Written in English, Sunnat-i-Khaula is targeted at educated women. It features an interview with the wife of TTP chief Fazlullah Khorasani, who married him at 14, where she makes the case for child marriage.

“I ask you why now everywhere there is a hue and cry about underage marriages … We have to understand that mature boys and girls if left unmarried for too long can become a source of moral destruction of the society,” she says.

The article has been ridiculed by Lahore-based social activist and blogger Ahsan Rizvi, who mocked the idea that “being umarried for too long” could lead to “moral destruction”.

Another article, ‘My journey from ignorance to guidance’, is written by a Pakistani doctor and narrates her decision to shun her Western education and embrace a life of jihad.

A third is a letter purporting to be from a six-year-old boy studying at a religious seminary and TTP-training ground. The boy says his brother was killed while carrying out a suicide attack in Pakistan and that he helps his mother look after mujahideen, as he plays with toy guns and waits for his own jihadi experience.

“Women are a strategic demographic because they have the ability to exert influence over their sons,” Michael Kugelman, a South Asia specialist at the Woodrow Wilson Center in the US, told British daily The Guardian. “If women are converted to the militant cause, they can encourage their sons – or daughters for that matter – to join it as well.”

Imitation of the Islamic State group

TTP has been using women as suicide bombers since 2010-2011, according to the Daily Times in Pakistan. However, the group’s use of women has been insignificant compared to that of the Islamic State (IS) group.

The launch of Sunnat-i-Khaula indicates TTP’s desire to imitate the IS group by drawing more women to its cause, both as fighters and jihadi wives.

“Attracting women and explicitly debating what role they should have is in line with the emerging focus other groups have in the region,” Tore Hamming, a militant Islamism researcher at the European University Institute, told FRANCE 24.

Describing the magazine as “horribly bad design-wise”, Hamming added: “The TTP publication is almost an evolution of the IS group’s efforts, as the IS group never published an English-language online magazine focused on women. It only included women-focused [supplements] in two issues of its Dabiq print magazine, which was distributed in the areas they controlled.”

Sunnat-i-Khaula is testament to TTP’s ambition to re-assert itself. “This is a struggling organisation that is trying to re-establish networks and membership after being hit hard on the battlefield in recent years,” says Kugelman.”
