Homeless man set on fire – suspects hand themselves in

– A homeless person in Berlin scarcely escaped a fire attack on Christmas Eve
– As police announce seven young men allegedly set the clothes of the man, who was sleeping in a subway station, on fire
– Monday evening, police published photos and a video of the wanted persons, who subsequently handed themselves in
– Six men reportedly are from Syria, one from Libya

After the attack on a homeless person in a Berlin subway station, the suspects handed themselves in. Six of the men turned themselves in at different police stations late Monday evening, police announce. Another man was arrested. The police released photos and a video which showed the wanted persons. Police are investigating for attempted murder.

The men, aged between 15 and 21 years, allegedly set the clothes of a homeless person on fire in the subway station Schönleinstraße on Christmas Eve, and then fled by subway. The man was sleeping on a bench. He was not injured, as passers-by intervened. A subway train driver who was witnessing the incident rushed to help with a fire extinguisher.

The suspects are now being interrogated by the homicide division. “We know who the main suspect is. He is 21 years old”, says the police speaker on RBB (Radio Berlin-Brandenburg). Six of the suspects are born in Syria, one in Libya, she confirms upon enquiry. “They immigrated as refugees”, a speaker tells Süddeutsche Zeitung. She did not annonce when they came to Germany.

The subway station Schönleinstraße is located between the districts Kreuzberg and Neukölln and is monitored by video cameras. Only shortly ago, an attack on a Berlin subway station caused nation wide outrage. A man unexpectedly kicked a woman on a staircase in the back. She fell an broke an arm. The suspect has been arrested in the meantime. Police was criticised for waiting several weeks before searching for the suspects via video stills.

  1. Well boys will be boys… and if it would be up to me, they would never make it to “man”.

      • They never WILL be men – one way or another !

Lubs ya, Rita. Too right you are!

All the same, if assuring (one way or another) that, “They never WILL be men”, by applying a slowly sawing, dull butter knife to their scrotes guaranteed this fact … Well, then, I’d be a lot happier.

Then again, that’s just crusty old curmudgeonly me…

  3. I can think of several things that should be done, only one of them is legal and then only in certain states.

  4. Clearly Putin is behind this. The Russians probably hacked the surveillance cameras. To make Merkel look bad
    ;P

    • The real Russian agent

Liberal Democrats have been so busy accusing Donald J. Trump of being a Russian agent that they have missed the real Russian agent on the international scene – Germany’s Angela Merkel. Her pro-Muslim immigration policies have not only destabilized Europe and increased terrorism, but have also facilitated the rise of the right-wing political parties our media have expressed alarm about.…

If our media were truly in a fact-finding mode, rather than attempting to score partisan political points, they would soon discover that some of these political parties are seeking Russian cooperation in stopping the Muslim invasion of Europe, because the European Union is viewed as hopeless and useless against terrorism. Desperation is forcing these parties to seek Russian involvement.

The Muslim invasion of Europe, which has been accelerated by Russian aggression in the Middle East, is being facilitated by such figures as Germany’s Chancellor Merkel, often described as the most powerful leader in Europe.…

“Amid a migrant crisis, sluggish economic growth and growing disillusionment with the European Union, right-wing parties in a growing number of European countries have made electoral gains,” notes the New York Times. What the Times and other media refuse to concede is the important role of the German Chancellor in making all of this possible.

Trump isn’t the Russian agent. It’s Merkel.

    • The Russians probably hacked the surveillance cameras. To make Merkel look bad.

Given the primitive state of Russian technology, this sort of easily attained goal fits well within the limited reach of Putin’s capabilities.

  5. The bitter irony is that there will probably be more homeless in the not too distant future, “deplaced” by the needy rapefugees and assorted unaccompanies chiiiiiiildren.

Happy New Year to you all, in case I’m not back before 2017, and if I’m back I will probably make it a mantra until 2017 🙂

    • The bitter irony is that there will probably be more homeless in the not too distant future, “displaced” by the needy rapefugees and assorted unaccompanied chiiiiiiildren.

[/Won’t someone pleeeeease think of the “chiiiiiiildren”?!?]

Strangest of all is how it might just be—contrary to Britain’s supremely dismal track record—constant predation of European children (Maria Ladenburger aside) that might finally evoke a deepest, darkest, quasi-genetic, and ultimately survivalist response from these Continental eloi.

Please pay close attention (in the video clip) to the oft-asked question, “Why?” … Just like the frequent rejoinder of a child … “Why?” How is this any different from the nagging inquiry that today’s young so often respond with? More importantly, what is the difference???

  6. Israeli leader Benjamin Netanyahu personally phoned Minister of Foreign Affairs Murray McCully to warn him a UN resolution New Zealand co-sponsored was a “declaration of war,” according to a report.

The UN Security Council resolution called for Israel to stop building settlements on occupied Palestinian land.

It was picked up and sponsored by New Zealand and three other countries after US President-Elect Donald Trump reportedly pressured Egypt into dropping it.

It was passed on Saturday after the US abstained instead of vetoing, as they historically have done on votes concerning Israel.

    • Kerry visited NZ on Nov. 13.
Huge earthquake couple days later. Not that there’s any connection, of course.

My first cousin married out to a Kiwi. I used to spend most of August there. By 2012 the media had so poisoned them on everything to do with Jews and Israel, I had no choice but to give them up. They have no kids.

It doesn’t hurt much anymore, except at times like these. They said such horrible things. How to understand such irrational hatred? Especially compound- complex self-hatred?

They’re probably delighted, proud to have been the ones to have taken the zios down a peg. Or six.

        […]
Here in Israel, people who hold one standard for themselves and another for others are called hypocrites. Apparently in your country, they are called politicians.

I think your rejection of our connection to the land of Israel isn’t based on anti-Israel beliefs but is likely an indication of a fundamental problem you have, a deep-seated fear that the Maori people might think they are entitled to their land, as we believe we are entitled to ours. Perhaps you identify more with the Palestinians than Israelis because ultimately, they, like you, are the true occupiers.

Your island is surrounded by glass and the stones you hurl at Israel merely strike back at you. Our rights to this land date back long before your island was even discovered. While it was a barren rock surrounded by sea, my people were building communities, practicing their religion, raising their children. They were exiled and returned, exiled and returned. We have fought off bitter enemies far more cunning than you.

Sometimes the greatest evil lurks in those who would claim they have no interest. But you have an interest. You don’t want the world to see the plight of the Maori; better to divert attention against Israel.

Shalom, New Zealand. I hope the rewards you get balance out for the integrity you lost, the honor you abandoned.

In real life, in political life, in its relations with its own people, New Zealand seems to be on very shaky ground while here in Israel, we walk on soil that has withstood countless enemies, liars, and hypocrites.

  7. Ponnam Shankar of Shalapalli village in Pegadapalli block of Telengana was arrested by Riyadh police in Saudi Arabia last month. His only crime was to post an FB post in which he showed Lord Shiva superimposed over picture of Islamic holy Kaba.

When Shankar’s mother and brother in India approached Gulf Returnees Welfare Society president “Chand Pasha” for assistance in the matter, he advised them to approach the Collector and added that “Shankar had committed serious crime as per Gulf Nation’s laws and he would be punished severely”.

As per Saudi Shariah law Ponnam Shankar, a Hindu, is obviously treated as a ‘kaffir’ and severe punishment of ‘blasphemy’ is meant for ‘public execution (beheading)’ in any black Friday as the norms of the state.+ (WARNING: Graphic Video inside).

RIYADH: A Saudi man has been jailed for one year for calling for an end to the Muslim kingdom’s guardianship system that gives men wide controls over women, local media said Tuesday.

The man, who was also fined 30,000 riyals ($8,000) by a court in the eastern city of Dammam, was convicted of “inciting to end guardianship of women” in statements he posted on Twitter and in public posters, the Okaz daily said.

  9. If a father shoots his adult daughter in the head three times while asleep in her bed, then claims it was an accident, it sounds too bizarre to believe.

Something like this could not happen here in America. Or could it?

Authorities say that’s exactly what happened in Rocky River, Ohio, on Sept. 27, leaving the community in shock and disbelief.

Last week in court, Jamal Mansour, 64, pleaded not guilty to aggravated murder charges, and his attorney reaffirmed the same reason for the shooting: A mere accident.

This despite new evidence entered into court that Mansour was caught on video loading his revolver at a gas station the day before the shooting.

  10. An Eritrean national seeking asylum in the UK has been charged with being a member of Islamic State (IS) and preparing to bomb the UK around the time of the anniversary of the 7/7 attacks.
Munir Hassan Mohammed, 35, had been living in Derby and appeared at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Christmas Eve alongside Rowaida El-Hassan, 32, the BBC reports.

Mr. Mohammed is charged with multiple crimes, including engaging in the preparation of an act of terrorism, whereby he is thought to have collected bomb-making chemicals.

Other charges included belonging to a proscribed organisation (thought to be IS) and possessing information likely to be useful to a person committing or preparing an act of terrorism.

It is also alleged he disseminated terrorist material, the North East Counter-Terrorism Unit said.

A 32-year-old American has emerged as one of Islamic State’s (Daesh) top leaders, a recent report by Graeme Wood in The Atlantic magazine revealed. What propelled John Georgelas aka Abu Yahya to the top of the jihadist group?

‘A staggering mastery of Islamic law’

Was it poverty that turned him to terror? No, he was born into an upper-middle class family in Texas. Perhaps, it was American foreign policy? No, there is no indication that he was displeased with the 1845 incorporation of the Republic of Texas into the US

It was ideology that drove him into the arms of the IS. Financed by rich Arabs in Texas, Yahya studied Islam. Initially attracted to Sufism, he soon turned to Dhahirism, an “ultraliteralist legal school”. He has a “staggering mastery of Islamic law” and can even compose poems in classical Arabic off the top of his head. This helped him win support within the terror group

Secretary of State John Kerry advised Egyptian and Palestinian diplomats on how to write a resolution condemning Israeli settlement construction that would avoid an American veto, but he did not “orchestrate” the international rebuke, according to a spokesman.

“Of course, there has been for some time in the fall, talk about this resolution or that resolution with regard to Middle East peace and the Israeli-Palestinian issue,” State Department spokesman Mark Toner told reporters. “Of course, in the course of those conversations, we’re always making clear what our parameters are, what our beliefs are, what we need to see in order to even consider a resolution. That’s part of the give and take of the U.N.”

Officials from Hamas have criticised a video appearing to show Muslim and Jewish people dancing together at a Hanukka ceremony, describing it as a “disgraceful spectacle”.

The Islamist group said the video from the event, hosted by the king of Bahrain and attended by members of the local Jewish community, was “humiliating” after it was posted on YouTube.

In the clip, Muslim and Jewish men wearing keffiyehs and kippahs were seen performing a traditional Hasidic dance during a candle-lighting ceremony.

LAGOS, Nigeria — Kidnapped girls freed from more than two years of captivity by Boko Haram Islamic extremists were prevented by Nigerian officials from spending Christmas at home with their families, relatives and a lawyer said Tuesday.

The news raised questions about Nigeria’s handling of the 21 girls freed in October through negotiation mediated by the Swiss government and the International Committee of the Red Cross.

US Secretary of State John Kerry will lay out his vision for ending the Israeli-Palestinian conflict in a speech just days after the United States cleared the way for a United Nations resolution demanding an end to Israeli settlements.

The speech, less than a month before President Barack Obama leaves office, is expected to be the administration’s last word on a decades-old dispute that Mr Kerry had hoped to resolve during his four years as America’s top diplomat.

It could also be seen in Israel as another parting shot at Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who has had an especially acrimonious relationship with Mr Obama since they both took office in 2009.
