  1. USA: ‘Clearly defined victory’ against terrorism impossible in age of technology – Obama
Obama said the influence of the internet had made it impossible to achieve a “clearly defined victory” against terrorism in his final national security speech to members of the armed forces at the MacDill Air Force Base near Tampa, Florida on Tuesday

    • USA: ‘Clearly defined victory’ against terrorism impossible in age of technology – Obama

Who better to make such an ultimately defeatist declaration of abject surrender than someone that cowered before an audience at Cairo’s (Terrorist Central) Al-Azhar University and openly declared that: “America is not, and will never be, at war with Islam”.

The utter madness of having this lame @ss “community organizer” abject coward, militarily inexperienced, and supreme Islamic collaborator at the helm of our world’s sole Superpower seems to have eluded the cognizance of far too many people who might, otherwise, have demanded a slightly greater degree of sanity from their (supposedly) elected officials.

May 0bama and all of his (Hillary [cough] Clinton [cough]) sh!ts go to hell.) Thank you.

      • Obama and his ilk want to destroy the US, the military knows this which is why very few people applauded his speech. His statement is more a prayer that he hopes will be answered rather then a firm statement, any ideology can be defeated if you fight to win. Since WWII the left has managed to convince the West that you don’t fight to win. President Reagan fought to win and the Soviet Union fell, since then no one has fought any war to win the war. They fight to win hearts and minds of the enemy and to avoid nasty headlines in the left wing press.

The populist victories and the alt media are bringing out people who know that you fight to win or you don’t fight.

        • …since then no one has fought any war to win the war.

From: “Can the West be Saved? Can the West be Saved?” by Serge Trifkovic

The elite class, rootless, arrogant, cynically manipulative, has every intention of continuing to “fight” the war on terrorism without naming the enemy, without revealing his beliefs, without unmasking his intentions, without offending his accomplices, without expelling his fifth columnists, and without ever daring to win.

It is up to the millions of normal Europeans and their American cousins to stop the madness. The traitor class wants them to share its death wish, to self-annihilate as people with a historical memory and a cultural identity, and to make room for the post-human, monistic Utopia spearheaded by the jihadist fifth column.

This crime can and must be stopped. The founders of the United States overthrew the colonial government for offenses far lighter than those of which the traitor class is guilty.

          • This crime can and must be stopped. The founders of the United States overthrew the colonial government for offenses far lighter than those of which the traitor class is guilty.

We have taken the first few steps to stop stop the crime, Britain and Italy have both taken the first step to stop the crime. We are now waiting to see if both or either will take the next steps and if France and Germany will follow. Austria has refused to take the first step but if the other nations in Europe move to defend their nation, their sovereignty, their culture and their people Austria will have no choice but to follow along.

We need Brits to post all they can about the candidates in their upcoming election and we need the French to do the same. If we non Brits and non French do it we are interfering foreigners, if they do it they are concerned citizens.

            • Richard, I’m really glad to see that Trifkovic’s words resonated for you. His works are well worth reading.

            • That they are.

Todays posts by Eeyore show that Italy is ready to take the next one to three steps to get a government that will respect the laws and will work to protect the Italians. Unfortunately the video from Berlin shows that the German government is not about to do anything and I am not sure that the people can do anything by voting in a new set of politicians. I hope they can but it is looking like the left has so strong a grip on the nation that nothing can be done by voting .

If I am rambling sorry, I have a nasty headache and between it and the pain pills my brain is not functioning up to its normal speed or clarity.

      • Obama Warns Against Stigmatizing American Muslims

This enthusiastic kisser of Muslim arse had better start worrying about stigmatizing himself out of his speaking fees. It appears as though Trump’s team is prepared to rip the mask off of Islam. Should that be the case, millions of Americans will gain a much clearer understanding of just how deeply our nation has been damaged by 0bama’s treachery and betrayal. Islam needs to be hung around this treasonous bastard’s neck like a rotting albatross.

        • I don’t think he is worried about his speaking fees, he is worried about PET undoing all he did to damage the US, and in how PET is bringing in people who believe in the US and who will fight for the US. Two of those people he fired because they wanted to defend the US.

          • I don’t think he is worried about his speaking fees, he is worried about PET undoing all he did to damage the US, and in how PET is bringing in people who believe in the US and who will fight for the US.

Ah, yes. That old “legacy” thingy.

Methinks that 0bama—over-achiever that he is (just not in a good way)—easily will manage to nudge out Bush 2.0 when it comes to being not-so-fondly remembered by American voters. And this is without factoring in the unbelievably negative “optics” that Trump’s administration will be capable of grinding out.

Most startling of all is the fact how Trump merely needs to perform his prescribed duties and those actions automatically will generate enough radioactive fallout to ensure that 0bama’s political legacy goes down in history as one of the crappiest of all time. Only a full term of Hillary Clinton in the Oval Office could have had the potential to produce a more damning aftermath.

Keep in mind that this doubly damning of Hillary because I am awarding her chances of comparatively equal-or-greater “success” after only four years at the helm.” Yes, folks, that’s just how loathsome the prospect of such a contemptible hag holding this nation’s executive office stood to be.

Regardless of exactly who will enter the White House come January—as Stefan Molyneux and Pat Condell have both alluded to—this last November, America almost miraculously managed to dodge a potentially fatal bullet.

Crazed narcissist though he may be, it is more than possible to actually believe that Donald Trump genuinely loves America. Nothing of the sort can be said for Barack 0bama, Hillary Clinton, or George W. Bush (in that order).

            • Crazed narcissist though he may be, it is more than possible to actually believe that Donald Trump genuinely loves America. Nothing of the sort can be said for Barack 0bama, Hillary Clinton, or George W. Bush (in that order).

During the election campaign I often told people that we could survive 8 years of Trump and probably thrive but that the US couldn’t survive 4 years of Hillary. The libs would be so shocked they couldn’t speak.

Yes Trump loves the US and wants to bring us back from the brink of destruction. He can do most of what is necessary just by enforcing existing laws, about the only thing he needs Congressional help on is repealing and replacing Obamacare (more on this later) and increasing the defense budget so he can rebuild the military.

I say replace Obamacare because the rules and regs in Obamacare did what they were designed to do and drove most of the private insurers out of the health insurance market and increasing the prices of those left so only the very rich can afford private care. If Hillary had won the ordinary people would have been screaming for government paid health care so they could get some kind of health care. This in the nation that pre Obamacare had a health system that let everyone get treatment.

            • I agree with your assessment of how much Obama and Hillary hate the US. I think George W loves the US but not in the same way Donald Trump does and not in the way most patriots do.

    • US cannot eliminate the Taliban or end violence in Afghanistan: Obama (khaama, Dec 7, 2016)
      http://www.khaama.com/us-cannot-eliminate-the-taliban-or-end-violence-in-afghanistan-obama-02432

“The US President Barack Obama has said the United States cannot eliminate Taliban or end violence in Afghanistan.

In his speech on Administration’s approach to counterterrorism, Obama said he ‘don’t want to paint too rosy a picture’, admitting that the situation in Afghanistan is still tough.

“War has been a part of life in Afghanistan for over 30 years, and the United States cannot eliminate the Taliban or end violence in that country,” Obama said.

However, he said “But what we can do is deny al Qaeda a safe haven, and what we can do is support Afghans who want a better future, which is why we have worked not only with their military, but we’ve backed a unity government in Kabul.”

The US President further added that United States helped Afghan girls go to school.
“We’ve supported investments in health care and electricity and education. You have made a difference in Afghanistan, and America is safer for it,” he added.

He also added that “early decision to strengthen our efforts in Afghanistan allowed us to build the capacity of Afghans to secure and defend their own country.”

“ So today, there are less than 10,000 American troops in Afghanistan. Instead of being in the lead against the Taliban, Americans are now supporting 320,000 Afghan security forces who are defending their communities and supporting our counterterrorism efforts,” he said.”

      • Eliminate al Qaeda and the Taliban? Maybe not all the way but we could reduce their ranks to the point they would stop fighting the people who don’t want to believe the way they do. This is where the bottom up approach that General Flynn wants would shine, it would require our Special Operators on the ground being allowed to do their thing without interference from the Afghans who seem to convert to the Taliban on a regular basis. Obummer would never approve what would have to be done because it stands a chance of generating to many bad headlines when we start fighting this as a war and letting the soldiers be soldiers and not policemen.

  2. Belgium: Kerry ‘deeply’ in favour of testing Assad’s willingness to negotiate

US Foreign Secretary John Kerry stated he is “deeply in favour” of putting to the test Syrian President Bashar al-Assad’s willingness to sit at the negotiating table, speaking to press after his final attendance at a NATO foreign ministers’ meeting in Brussels on Tuesday.

    • Assad and the leaders of other nations are laughing at Kerry and Obama as they run around giving speech’s trying to make people think what they do and say still matter. Two failed politicians who are trying to achieve one victory while they are in office.

    • A quote by a commentator to an article entitled, “Kerry should STFU”:
Kerry spreading the lie that Jews are illegitimate in their own homeland. Kerry is disturbed that Jews should move beyond the walls to which they are designated to live… the Euro designated ghetto boundries of the major blocks… the Swift Boat fraud, the serial liar, says that Jews are dangerous when they settle in Judah Samaria….Kerry’s lies lead to the murders of Jewish children… his libels end in dead Jews.

      • His lies about what the US did in Nam got a lot of good men killed over there, both US military and South Vietnamese military. They got several million people enslaved and the left calls his actions heroic and him a hero. Some day he will face a higher power and receive justice for his crimes.

      • When I was on active it was called a blanket party because a folded blanket held the guest of honor down and blocked his vision while bed adapters were used to administer the needed therapy. I know of only one time when it was used and that was to a barracks thief. He hadn’t gotten around to stealing from me when he was caught, given a blanket party and dumped at the orderly room door. I never heard who was in on the party and never wanted to know.

  3. USA: Trump officially announces James ‘Mad Dog’ Mattis as Defense Secretary nominee

US President-elect Donald Trump formally announced that General James ‘Mad Dog’ Mattis was his nomination for US Defence Secretary at a rally in Fayetteville, North Carolina on Tuesday.

      • A US Marine doesn’t regard Hezbollah as an heroic band of “freedom fighters”. He thinks of the cowardly bombing of the Marine barracks in Beirut in 1983.
Mattis is certainly no friend of Israel, but he’s a determined foe of the Shittes who murdered Americans in Lebanon and Iraq.

  4. AUSTRALIA – Teenager jailed for seven years over Melbourne terrorism bomb plot

Police raids only things that prevented the 18-year-old setting off a homemade explosive device in a public space, supreme court told

A teenager who was building bombs to detonate in a crowded area of Melbourne when police foiled his terrorism plan has been jailed for seven years and will serve at least five years and three months behind bars.

Victorian supreme court Justice Lex Lasry on Wednesday sentenced the teenager on the basis that the police raids were the only things that prevented the 18-year-old setting off a bomb in the CBD, or on a train or at a police station, killing and injuring innocent people.

Police found boxes of screws, pressure cookers and Islamic State propaganda in his bedroom along with bomb-making manuals and partially constructed pipe bombs which Lasry said he “had every intention of using”.

    https://www.theguardian.com/australia-news/2016/dec/07/teenager-jailed-for-seven-years-over-melbourne-terrorism-bomb-plot

Teen jailed for seven years for plotting Melbourne Mother’s Day terrorist attack

The 18-year-old, who cannot be named, was in the process of making pipe and pressure cooker bombs when he was arrested in May last year.

In sentencing, Supreme Court Judge Lex Lasry took into account the man’s youth and his prospects for rehabilitation, but said the sentence must be a deterrent to him and others.

Justice Lasry said if the teenager had not been arrested he could have killed a number of people.

The accused pleaded guilty in December 2015 to one charge of preparing an act of terrorism.

The court previously heard a number of items were seized from his family home, including a pressure cooker, matches and pipes, along with a document on his computer titled, Make a Bomb in Your Mom’s Kitchen.

He will be eligible for parole in 5 years and three months.

  5. Is there no decency left in this world? Have the Germans gone completely mad?!?!?

Note the irony in the word ‘Christian’…

    https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/2341610/angela-merkel-re-elected-leader-of-germanys-christian-democratic-union-despite-immigration-backlash/

MERKEL BOUNCES BACK Angela Merkel RE-ELECTED leader of Germany’s Christian Democratic Union despite immigration backlash

The vote came after Merkel completed an astonishing U-turn by formally endorsing a full burka ban

    • I could be mistaken, but that Sun article makes it sound as if she was voted for after endorsing a Burka ban, but that is not the case. She is the only candidate, and there was no one else to vote for.
The burka was just a tiny detail in her speech.
People, it seems including The Sun, are desparately looking for signals of her changing her mind, so they give importance to arbitrary details, or even outright misrepresent what she said.
You will also find lot of headlines these days: “Merkel admitted mistakes in refugee policies”. No she did not. What she literally said was that she was disapponted by Europe showing not enough solidarity (so, in other words, she is attacking the Visegrad states, again). That is not exactly admitting her mistake(s).
And yes the Germans have gone mad.

      • Thanks, Egri.
I haven’t seen one accurate report or translation. Merkel’s got a stranglehold on media coverage, and especially on what’s said about her.

      • During the Cold War we got more truth from Pravda then we are getting from the LSM in any western nation.

      • When the two Germanys reunited my father said letting them reunite was a mistake because in 20 years we would have to kick their butts again. Looks like it will be closer to 30 years then 20 before we are fighting them. Unless of course the kick Merkel out and get someone who will defend Western Civilization to lead Germany.

        • Strange. While writing my own comment (see below), I was just speculating about whether Germany’s reunification—which, until now, I have largely regarded as the best thing that happened in Europe since the end of WWII—may have helped enable this madness that has gripped the nation.

A divided Germany may not have quite so easily slid over the edge like it has. Any and all opinions about this are welcome.

    • Have the Germans gone completely mad?!?!?

Totally starkers, full-goose-Bozo. Quite clearly, they have switched from beer to Kool-Aid.

The first sign of German sanity will come when they exit the EU. They and France are almost single-handedly financing the other EU countries and eventually will tire of it at some point. When that breaking point comes is only a matter of time.

Merkel’s endorsement by the CDU—which, in conjunction with its Bavarian sister party, the CSU (Christian Social Union), holds 41% of that nation’s parliamentary seats—spells certain tragedy for Germany. Despite holding 49.2% of the Bundestag seats, the remaining parties—Social Democratic Party (SPD), The Left, Alliance ’90, Free Democratic Party (FDP), Alternative for Germany (AfD)—stand little chance of uniting in any meaningful way since some of these groups are even farther left of the CDU.

Another four years of Merkel’s disastrous “immigration” policies—her burqa ban notwithstanding—could utterly destroy Germany in ways that might not be resolved within our own lifetimes. At least not in any peaceful manner. This is just one of many reasons why I continue to make such violent grim predictions about Europe’s future.

      • East Germany was where the Aristocracy that dominated the military came from, even under communism that group went into the military. They have been slowly drifting back into leadership roles since the reunification. After this war we may want to break Germany up into the individual nation states that Bismark unified into the Germany we now know. I don’t know if this would make things any more peaceful but it is looking like it would be worth a try.

  6. Nothing to see here – just some UN initiatives with the ‘locals’:

    http://www.timesofisrael.com/israeli-map-reveals-thousands-of-hezbollah-positions-along-border/

The Israeli military on Tuesday posted a map of southern Lebanon to Twitter, on which it marked Hezbollah positions, infrastructure and armaments along a section of the Israeli border.

The map, according to Channel 2 News, features over 200 towns and villages which the organization has turned into its operations bases, and shows over 10,000 potential targets for Israeli strikes in the event of a new war with the terror group.

A caption on the photo noted that it had been declassified, in an apparent calculated move by Israel to build a case for any future military action. It could also serve as a warning to the terror group itself, demonstrating Israel’s intelligence gathering capabilities as a deterrent.

Man Arrested Near Rockefeller Christmas Tree With Gasoline Can, Matches

by Tom Winter and Alex Johnson

A man carrying a gasoline can, matches has been charged with making a terroristic threat after he was arrested near the famed Rockefeller Plaza in New York City, authorities told NBC News on Tuesday.

The man was arrested Monday after officers followed him to an intersection near Rockefeller Plaza, a police official said.

  8. ‘Cause ‘personal dignity’ is more important than murder:

    http://www.thelocal.se/20161206/swedish-court-jails-iraqi-for-war-crimes-after-facebook-post

A Swedish court on Tuesday jailed an Iraqi man for six months for war crimes in a landmark case after he posted photos on Facebook of himself posing with dead bodies in Iraq.

The photos posted on Facebook in July 2015, show Iraqi citizen Raed Abdulkareem, 24, who sought asylum in Sweden in October that same year, posing next to a severed head on a plate and decapitated bodies. He claims to have fought for the Iraqi government against the Islamic State group.

The police discovered the photos while investigating Abdulkareem over robbery, for which he is currently serving a prison sentence.

The court said even dead people are protected against violation of “personal dignity” under Swedish law and the Geneva Convention.

  9. Can anyone tell me what is the vector driving housing costs in Europe through the roof?

    http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/british-workers-living-in-poverty-at-a-record-high-a7458981.html

The number of workers living in poverty has reached a record high as the UK’s housing crisis fuels growing insecurity, a think tank has warned.

Research by the Joseph Rowntree Foundation (JRF) showed that 3.8 million workers, or one in eight, live in poverty.

Low wages are regularly cited as the cause of in-work poverty, but the rising cost of rented housing is also pushing working people into extreme financial difficulty. A total of 7.4 million people, including 2.6 million children, are living in poverty despite being in working households, the report claims.

    • The rising costs in housing is being fueled by inflation (the worlds governments are lying to us about the real inflation rate) along with Keynesian economics which wants to drive up prices to force the workers to take a pay cut. That this drives more people into poverty and makes them dependent is the real reason for the policies but that is the unstated one.

Housing costs around the world are in a massive bubble which is going to bust and make the 08 crash look small.

    http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/british-workers-living-in-poverty-at-a-record-high-a7458981.html

“Housing costs are plunging millions of British people into poverty, but they’re not unemployed

The number of workers living in poverty has reached a record high as the UK’s housing crisis fuels growing insecurity, a think tank has warned.

Research by the Joseph Rowntree Foundation (JRF) showed that 3.8 million workers, or one in eight, live in poverty.

A total of 7.4 million people, including 2.6 million children, are living in poverty despite being in working households, the report claims.

The number of people living in poverty in the private rental sector has doubled in the last decade to 4.5 million, the JRF said.

More than half of those in poverty in England live in London and southern England. The capital has the highest poverty rate at 27 per cent – 6 per cent above the UK average, the study found.

Helen Barnard, head of analysis at the JRF, said: “The UK economy is not working for low-income families. The economy has been growing since 2010 but during this time high rents, low wages and cuts to working-age benefits mean that many families, including working households, have actually seen their risk of poverty grow.

“As it negotiates Brexit, it is vital that the Government does not allow its focus to slip from the domestic concerns that make a huge difference to people who are just about managing. This report shows that people on low-incomes cannot rely on economic growth and rising employment alone to improve their financial prospects…”

“European Union regulators have fined banks JPMorgan, HSBC and Credit Agricole a combined $520 million for colluding to manipulate the price of financial products linked to interest rates.

EU antitrust Commissioner Margrethe Vestager said the banks illegally exchanged sensitive information and colluded to take profit in the market on the specialized financial products.

The EU fined JPMorgan Chase 337 million euros, France’s Credit Agricole 114 million euros and London-based HSBC 33 million euros.

Three years ago, the antitrust regulators levied fines totaling 1.04 billion euros on Barclays, Deutsche Bank, RBS and Societe Generale as part of the same case.

The case covers manipulation of financial contracts linked to a benchmark interest rate called Euribor in the period 2005-2008.”

  13. Germany: Merkel’s Party Backs Tougher Rules on Dual Citizens (abcnews, Dec 7, 2016)
    http://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/germany-merkels-party-backs-tougher-rules-dual-citizens-44029147

“Delegates from German Chancellor Angela Merkel’s party have voted in favor of scrapping rules that allow the children of immigrants to be dual citizens.

Until two years ago, German-born children of immigrants had to pick one nationality between ages 18 to 23 — a rule largely affecting Germany’s Turkish community. Merkel’s current center-left coalition partners insisted on dropping the requirement as part of their price for entering the government after Germany’s 2013 election.

That has never been popular with Merkel’s conservative Christian Democratic Union. On Wednesday, delegates at a convention in Essen narrowly backed a motion from the party’s youth wing that advocated returning to the old system.

The CDU’s chances of achieving that look poor, however, as potential coalition partners after next year’s election are highly unlikely to agree.”

    • The idea of duel citizenship is one the left pushed, you can’t be loyal to two nations at the same time so your loyalty to both nations is cut in half. This is part of the lefts scheme to make everyone citizens of the world and destroy all nations.

      • While I agree, much of this is rendered meaningless because of how Islamic taqiyya makes any oath of citizenship utterly irrelevant. And, let’s face it, the only significant issue where dual citizenship actually matters is with Germany’s Muslim population. I seriously doubt that the nations-of-origin for all of these Muslims would deny them right of return, especially if they are bringing back lots of European loot.

        • You are right there, I just don’t like the idea of dual citizenship since a lot of US problems are from illegals from down south that Obama and others want to make Citizens. A lot of them are openly talking about taking all of the Southwestern states back into Mexican territory. The Mexicans started the Mexican American war and when they lost the people living in the areas we kept wanted to join us, not that that matters to the Alpha Hotels currently coming north.

          • A lot of them are openly talking about taking all of the Southwestern states back into Mexican territory.

While the “so-called” Aztlán (video is well worth watching, if only for perspective) movement is blowing a lot of smoke (mainly up our @sses), we’re talking about an Aztec-based culture that used to extensively torture young children as part of their rain-making ceremonies. For the nonce, we’ll omit all the cutting-of-still-beating-hearts-out-of-human-sacrifices folderol.

So, let’s just focus on who’s got all of the nukes. At last count, it’s:

            Mexico = ZERO
            USA = GAZILLION

I’ll leave it to you about guessing how this story ends…

            • It won’t turn into a nuck tossing level fight, we will kick their tails easily without raising to that level. I am upset because the divided loyalty has brought us to the point where we have to spend time and resources on the Aztlan people when they are needed elsewhere.

      • Surrender to us or we will start fighting again.

        Cue Monty Python’s Flying Circus;

When the Piranhas left school they were called up but were found by an Army Board to be too unstable even for National Service. Denied the opportunity to use their talents in the service of their country, they began to operate what they called ‘The Operation’. They would select a victim and then threaten to beat him up if he paid the so-called protection money. Four months later they started another operation which the called ‘The Other Operation’. In this racket they selected another victim and threatened not to beat him up if he didn’t pay them. One month later they hit upon ‘The Other Other Operation’. In this the victim was threatened that if he didn’t pay them, they would beat him up. This for the Piranha brothers was the turning point.

        Need I say more?!?

    http://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/study-thousands-bangladesh-kids-working-64-hours-week-44028937

“Thousands of Bangladeshi children who live in the capital’s slums are working illegally for an average of 64 hours a week, with many employed by the garment industry making clothing for top global brands, according to a new report released Wednesday.

The report by the London-based Overseas Development Institute found that 15 percent of children aged 6-14 were not attending school so they could work full time.

At the age of 10, about 8 percent of slum-dwelling children had jobs, the report said. By the time they reached 14, almost half were already working.

The report was based on a survey of 2,700 slum households in Dhaka.

Authorities did not immediately respond for requests for comment.

In Bangladesh, it is illegal for children under 14 to work. It is also illegal to ask anyone to do “hazardous work” for more than 42 hours a week.

But child labor persists, as some factories do not require ID cards from their workers or do not understand that employing children is against the law…”

  15. White Britons ‘need to integrate with Muslims and migrants’ Islamic leader claims (express, Dec 7, 2016)
    http://www.express.co.uk/news/uk/740657/white-britons-miqdaad-versi-muslims-migrants-islamic-leader-muslim-council-of-britain

“WHITE British people must be responsible for integrating Muslims and migrants into communities, a senior representative of the Muslim Council of Britain has hinted.

Miqdaad Versi’s remarks are part of a response to a report that numerous British towns and cities have mutated “out of all recognition” by unlimited migration.

Dame Louise Casey’s report, commissioned by former Prime Minister David Cameron, warned that communities across Britain were becoming increasingly segregated after being ignored by successive Governments “for fear of being branded racist or Islamophobic” which has inadvertently increased “divisions and tensions”.

Mr Versi, assistant secretary-general of the Muslim Council of Britain, attacked the report for focusing “primarily” on Muslims and not looking at other ethnicities and religions in Britain today.

In his piece for The Guardian titled ‘White people must play a role in integration too’, he wrote: “She does not provide any solutions for African Caribbean, Roma or Traveller communities, with no acknowledgement of Scotland and Northern Ireland’s history of integration challenges – from which we must learn.

“Worryingly, Casey often conflates Muslim with Asian communities, giving the false impression that all regressive cultural practices are based on the Islamic faith despite clear evidence to the contrary…”

    • Miqdaad Versi is assistant secretary general of the Muslim Council of Britain. Ergo, he cannot be trusted to do anything but insist that all of Islam’s eternally screwed up cultural issues (to put it generously) are the fault of other completely uninvolved people who would rather have a melanoma than see a single Muslim walking through their town.

Worryingly, Casey often conflates Muslim with Asian communities, giving the false impression that all regressive cultural practices are based on the Islamic faith despite clear evidence to the contrary…

Fecking surreal. Since its inception, Islam always has been and remains even today the largest single source of “regressive cultural practices” in our entire world. This sort of denial is on a scale that transcends anything Egypt might have to offer.

    http://www.express.co.uk/news/uk/740694/Louise-Cooper-burka-Sky-News

“A JOURNALIST launched an impassioned attack on the burka on Sky News – branding it “offensive to women” and contrary to British values.

On Tuesday German Chancellor Angela Merkel said the wearing of full-faced veils in the country should be prohibited “wherever it is legally possible”.

Discussing Mrs Merkel’s surprise U-turn on Sky News, Louise Cooper launched into a tirade against the fact some Muslim women are forced to wear full-faced veils in the UK.

On the issue of Muslim women who cover their faces and wear gloves she said: “What is so offensive about a pair of hands to the Muslim faith?

“To be fair I know it is not all Muslims, I know it is a very small minority…”

Anchor Sarah-Jane Mee interjected and told Ms Cooper some women would chose to cover themselves up and have “no problem” with the veil.

“I wonder why they won’t have a problem with it.

“This is not our country’s values. If you want to come to our country and live here then you have to have our values.

“That is the opinion I have and I think I would ban the burka. It is offensive to women.”…”

    https://sputniknews.com/politics/201612071048257114-turkey-eu-membership/

“Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yildirim told Sputnik that Turkey did not plan to withdraw the country’s application for the EU membership.

He added that Brussels must understand that it is impossible to ensure its security without Ankara. “We do not and did not have a decision to call back our application for EU membership. The European Union should think hard of the steps they are taking not for our sake, but for the sake their own future. The future and security of the European Union are impossible without Turkey,” Yildirim said.”

    • Of course not the application is something to beat Mama Merkel over the head with and extort more money.

  18. Trump Pledges to End US Regime Change Policies Around the World (sputniknews, Dec 7, 2016)
    https://sputniknews.com/us/201612071048253916-trump-end-regime-change-policies/

“The United States is going to abandon its decades of policies promoting regime change in countries around the world, President-elect Donald Trump told a rally in Fayetteville in the US state of North Carolina.

WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — Trump pledged to follow a policy of restraining US military force around the world rather than unleashing it.

“We will stop racing to topple foreign regimes that we know nothing about that we shouldn’t be involved with,” Trump said on Tuesday. “This destructive cycle of intervention and chaos must finally come to an end.”

The president-elect gave “a commitment to engage the use of military forces only when it is in the…interests of the United States. … We want to strengthen old friendships and seek out new friendships… … We seek harmony and goodwill among the nations of the world,” he said.

Trump said he would be guided by the lessons of history and that he believed in trust and mutual understanding among nations.”

    • This is the way it should be, the problem is that between Bush and his mistakes (he made some but everyone does) Hillary, Kerry and Obama through their empowerment of the Moslem Brotherhood has set events in motion that will force us to fight WWIII. We will have to fight or surrender and become Moslem which is the solution the leftists and Moslems want.

  19. BREITBART – Italy Deports Moroccan Jihadist Planning Bomb Attack in Vatican

Italian security forces have deported an Islamist Moroccan national who had expressed his intentions to carry out a terror attack in the Vatican.

In prison for common crimes, the 32-year-old Moroccan had “confided his plan for the attack to a cellmate,” Italy’s Interior Minister Angelino Alfano reported Tuesday. The plot included the use of “a car bomb as well as Kalashnikov rifles,” which the man claimed he could procure in Rome through a contact there.

The jihadist has been described by those who knew him as “fanatical” and eager to “die in God’s name to win Paradise.”

“Today we made another deportation on national security grounds, marking the tempo of tireless prevention activities that we consider a pillar in combating violent extremism,” Alfano told reporters.

Italy’s counterterrorism efforts have indeed been remarkably successful and have been held up as a model for other countries to follow. Last year, a leading military analyst observed that it was no accident that despite the many factors going against Italy, Islamic terrorists have failed to kill a single person on Italian soil.

In an article in the Nikkei Asian Review, Romanian-born political scientist and military analyst Edward N. Luttwak laid out his theory explaining Italy’s successful counterterrorism strategy. In a word: Italy has the necessary political will to deport those it considers a threat to national security, as it showed once again on Tuesday.

In his piece titled “Doing Counterterrorism Right,” Luttwak contrasted Italy with France and Belgium, noting that although Italy is much more vulnerable than they are, it has been far more effective in thwarting would-be terrorists before they strike.

Over the summer, Italian authorities expelled a Moroccan Salafi imam known to be a Muslim extremist for “reasons of public order and state security.”

Italian counterterrorism forces (DIGOS) had had the 51-year-old Imam Mohammed Madad under surveillance because of his radical profile, and eventually arrested him when his sermons took on an increasingly radicalized, violent and anti-Western tone.

The man had named his own daughter “Jihad,” and after his deportation is ineligible to apply for a visa to return to the country for the next 15 years.

In October, Italian authorities deported a Tunisian jihadist with ties to the Islamic State who was purportedly trying to reach the Syrian-Iraqi region to fight for Islamic State.

The 32-year-old Tunisian was discovered by security forces because of his online activity in a jihadist forum, and the man had openly declared his allegiance to Islamic State on his Facebook page.

Tuesday’s expulsion of the Moroccan Islamist brought the year’s total deportations to 62, not behind Italy’s total of 66 deportations during all of 2015.

According to Alfano, the Moroccan Muslim had been radicalized during a previous period of detention at the Regina Coeli prison and had been also been responsible for indoctrinating another detainee.

On Tuesday afternoon, the man was flown from Milan’s Malpensa Airport directly to Casablanca.

  20. Russia: FSB detain 25 Muslim terrorists in large scale raids – reports

Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) and special police units conducted a large anti-extremist operation in Moscow, Wednesday, in which they reportedly detained a total of 25 people.

The majority of those who were taken-in are from Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) countries and were detained simultaneously at several different addresses across the city and the Moscow Region, according to media reports. Video released by the security services shows special forces entering a flat in the north of Moscow and detaining around eight people.

Security forces also seized literature and data storage devices during the raid. Authorities believe the suspects were assisted by other groups which helped them to operate inside Russia.

France: Decomposing in Front of Our Eyes

    by Yves Mamou
    December 7, 2016 at 5:00 am

    https://www.gatestoneinstitute.org/9174/france-decomposing

France will elect a new president in May 2017. Politicians are already campaigning and debating about deficits, welfare recipients, GDP growth, and so on, but they look like puppets disconnected from the real country.

What is reality in France today?

Violence. It is spreading. Not just terrorist attacks; pure gang violence. It instills a growing feeling of insecurity in hospitals, at schools, in the streets — even in the police. The media does not dare to say that this violence is coming mainly from Muslim gangs — “youths,” as they call the in the French media, to avoid naming who they are. A climate of civil war, however, is spreading visibly in the police, schools, hospitals and politics.
    The Police

The most jolting evidence of this malaise was to see more than 500 French police officers demonstrating with police cars and motorcycles on the night of October 17, without the backing of labor unions, without authorization, on the Champs Elysées in Paris. According to the daily, Le Figaro, “the Interior Ministry was in panic,” frightened by a possible coup: “Police blocked access to the Avenue Marigny, which runs beside the Presidential Palace and overlooks the Place Beauvau.”

On October 18, when Jean-Marc Falcone, director-general of National Police, met the leaders of the protest, he was surrounded by hundreds of police officers urging him to resign.

The main cause of their anger seems primarily the violence often directed against police, and terrorist attacks. On the terrorist level, two policemen were stabbed to death in Magnanville in June 2016 by a Muslim extremist, Larossi Aballa. This spring, more than 300 police officers and gendarmes were injured by demonstrators. In May, police unions demonstrated in the streets of Paris to protest “anti-police hatred.”

This autumn, the last straw was an attack on a police patrol in the Paris suburb of Viry-Châtillon. Four officers were injured when a group of around 15 “youths” (Muslim gang-members) swarmed their cars in the town and hurled rocks and firebombs at them. Two policemen were badly burned; one had to be placed in an induced coma. The same scenario took place a few days later: a police patrol was ambushed in another no-go zone in the “sensitive” area of Val-Fourré

    • The way the French Police and the people are standing up to the politicians should scare the politicians. From what the article is saying the next election is the last attempt by the people to try peaceful means of getting a government that will protect the French people and the French culture. During the unauthorized Police protest the French government thought there was a coup taking place. If they don’t do more then talk about he problem there will be a coup sometime next year and if that fails a very violent civil war.

The ordinary people, what use to be called the good people, are mad and are giving the politicians one last chance to do their jobs before being replaced by force. This is something the left has forgotten if they every knew that the patience and peacefulness of the people is not unlimited and that when pushed hard enough we will react with massive overwhelming violence. The French should know this because they have had many more civil wars then we have and they are usually extremely very violent and bloody.

  23. Pope warns media over “sin” of spreading fake news, smearing politicians

Media that focus on scandals and spread fake news to smear politicians risk becoming like people who have a morbid fascination with excrement, Pope Francis said in an interview published on Wednesday.

Francis told the Belgian Catholic weekly “Tertio” that spreading disinformation was “probably the greatest damage that the media can do” and using communications for this rather than to educate the public amounted to a sin.

Using precise psychological terms, he said scandal-mongering media risked falling prey to coprophilia, or arousal from excrement, and consumers of these media risked coprophagia, or eating excrement.

The Argentine-born pontiff excused himself for using such terms in order to get his point across while answering a question about the correct use of the media.

“I think the media have to be very clear, very transparent, and not fall into – no offence intended – the sickness of coprophilia, that is, always wanting to cover scandals, covering nasty things, even if they are true,” he said.

“And since people have a tendency towards the sickness of coprophagia, a lot of damage can be done.”

That section of the interview, all of which was distributed to reporters in an Italian translation of the interview in the pope’s native Spanish, contained some of the most blunt language the pontiff has ever used about the media.

He also spoke of the danger of using the media to slander political rivals.

“The means of communication have their own temptations, they can be tempted by slander, and therefore used to slander people, to smear them, this above all in the world of politics,” he said. “They can be used as means of defamation…”

“No-one has a right to do this. It is a sin and it is hurtful,” he said.

He described disinformation as the greatest harm the media can do because “it directs opinion in only one direction and omits the other part of the truth,” he said.

The pope’s comments on disinformation followed widespread debate in the United States over whether fake news on the internet might have swayed voters toward Republican candidate Donald Trump.

  24. zerohedge – This Is the Purge We All Knew Was Coming: “Shutting Down Extremist Content”

There have been murmurs about it all along.

Someday, they simply wouldn’t allow certain things to remain on the Internet any longer. The potential to reach a global audience with important information, and the idea that it could be in the hands of anyone is just too big.

So it is no surprise that many corporate giants from Silicon Valley are now putting forward a unified front to silence free speech on social media.

Hashtags, keywords and flagged accounts, logged in various databases, will be shared and enforced across the web. Shutting down content identified as unacceptable will now be streamlined, and leave unpopular posters with fewer places to peddle their extremist, outside views.

    According to Yahoo! News:

Web giants YouTube , Facebook , Twitter and Microsoft will step up efforts to remove extremist content from their websites by creating a common database.

The companies will share ‘hashes’ – unique digital fingerprints they automatically assign to videos or photos – of extremist content they have removed from their websites to enable their peers to identify the same content on their platforms.

“We hope this collaboration will lead to greater efficiency as we continue to enforce our policies to help curb the pressing global issue of terrorist content online,” the companies said in a statement on Tuesday. […]

The European Union set up an EU Internet Forum last year bringing together the internet companies, interior ministers and the EU Counter-Terrorism Coordinator to find ways of removing extremist content.

Many current incidents are being used to push the idea that a new online policing – and a pulling of the weeds – is now necessary.

The “fake news” purging campaign has reached across the blogosphere and alternative media and punished websites that have dared to report on such taboo topics as Pizzagate, Wikileaks email dumps, any controversial aspects of the Syrian war and many other serious topics which these agenda-driven companies have opted to suppress.

While these platforms offer the opportunity to reach a wide audience, the centrality of ubiquitous platforms like Facebook, Google and Twitter is, obviously, that they have the power to delete accounts and drive down audience response by tweaking the algorithm.

    They can make you invisible.

That is the state of free speech in 2016. It can be eradicated at a moment’s notice, and perhaps for reasons you aren’t even aware of.

    Reality Check
Clues in exposing Trump’s foreign policy hand

In the US and around the world, people are anxiously awaiting US President-elect Donald Trump’s announcement of his choice to serve as secretary of state. There is no doubt that Trump’s choice for the position will tell us a great deal about the direction his foreign policy is likely to take.

But the fact is that we already have sufficient information to understand what his greatest focus will be.

Trump’s announcement last week that he has selected Marine General James Mattis to serve as his defense secretary is a key piece of the puzzle.

Mattis has a sterling reputation as a brilliant strategist and a sober-minded leader. His appointment has garnered plaudits across the ideological spectrum.

Someone behind an anonymous Twitter account is trying to destroy the influential conservative Breitbart News website by smearing it as “racist” – and he’s already scared at least 47 advertisers away from Breitbart.

In the current atmosphere of left-wing hysteria over the surprise election of Donald Trump as president, this blacklisting project has already earned an impressive return on investment. Breitbart is a target of the wrath of social justice warriors because it reports the truth about the Left and it used to be run by Stephen Bannon, now slated to become chief strategist in the Trump White House. Hurting Breitbart hurts Trump and Republicans in general, the thinking goes.

The campaign takes screenshots of advertisements on Breitbart and then harasses the advertisers, demanding that they stop advertising there. It also encourages people who hate Breitbart or Trump to take screenshots of a target company’s ads placed beside content deemed objectionable and tweet the images at advertisers along with a threat to stop patronizing that company.

The cowardly crusader hiding behind this effort to frighten advertisers away from Breitbart by lying about and mischaracterizing the provocative news website’s content goes by the user name Sleeping Giants.

Roughly two dozen current and former employees of CNN and TBS (both owned by Turner) claim that there is a systematic problem with “discriminatory practices being implemented throughout all of Turner’s Networks [sic],” according to a complaint filed Tuesday evening.

The complaint cites statistics showing that black employees at Turner are promoted at a much lower rate than whites. The lawsuit alleges that this “can only be attributed to the fact that Turner, specifically CNN has implemented formal [emphasis in original] written and unwritten policies and practices regarding promotions[.]” The attorney who filed the complaint, Daniel Meachum, told LawNewz.com that the statistics were gathered by Turner themselves as part of an internal study.

However, Italy is the most anti-immigrant country in Europe, according to a YouGov poll, with more than half of people agreeing with the statement: “There are so many foreigners living here, it doesn’t feel like home any more.”

French and German people are also highly likely to agree with the statement, at 47 per cent and 44 per cent respectively.

PS: Thank you so much, Xanthippa, for remembering this “date which will live in infamy”.

I’d truly enjoy seeing what you (and Richard) think about Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe’s visit to Pearl Harbor.

      • Depends on what he does while there, he doesn’t have to apologize to the living but what will he do to apologize to the dead? I know that most of the Japanese tourists go to the Arizona and say a prayer for the dead. (Or so I have read, the younger generation may think that since there weren’t in the war they have nothing to apologize for.)

As for my feelings I won’t be upset unless he is disrespectful to the dead, they were soldiers and sailors who were doing their duty and the Japanese culture should appreciate that and honor them for trying to fight back.

FYI I am not as upset over the surprise attack as a lot of people were, after all no soldier wants a fair fight they want surprise attacks and one sided battles to limit the causalities on their side. If I have been alive back then I would have been upset over the treatment of the captives and their treatment of the civilians in the areas they conquered but not the attack. In the 60s Paul Tibbits ( who dropped the nuke on Hiroshima) met Mitsuo Fuchida (the man who lead the attack on Pearl Harbor at some big ceremony in Honolulu and both said that they felt no guilt and both agreed that the other shouldn’t feel guilt over what they did. I agree they shouldn’t have felt any guilt, they were soldiers fighting a war and war is not something that can be civilized despite the lefts attempt to do so. You try to limit the civilian causalities but you don’t let civilian causalities stop you from fighting and winning the war.

“The Taliban militants receive financial support from the Saudis as the insurgency led by the group has entered to its 15th year with the group intensifying attacks since the Afghan forces took full security lead last year.

A former Taliban finance minister has told The New York Times that he traveled to Saudi Arabia for years raising cash while ostensibly on pilgrimage.

A former State Department adviser Valid Nisar also told the paper that the Taliban have also been allowed to raise millions more by extorting “taxes” by pressing hundreds of thousands of Pashtun guest workers in the kingdom and menacing their families back home.

The move by Saudis to financially support the group comes in contradiction with the Kingdom’s move to pursue the group to participate in peace talks with the Afghan government.

According to the Times, the Saudi intelligence once covertly mediated a peace effort that Taliban officials and others involved described in full to The Times for the first time.

Reports regarding Saudis support to Taliban come as the top US commander in Afghanistan General John Nicholson earlier said the Taliban connections to Russia and Iran are not advancing the cause of stability in the region.

Both Iran and Russia are concerned regarding the presence of ISIS loyalists in the country and have been allegedly helping and arming the Taliban in a bid to contain the influence of ISIS affiliates in Afghanistan and prevent it from threatening neighboring countries including central Asian states.”

    • Saudis financially support the Afghan Taliban

All of which means that—just like with the 9-11 Atrocity—Saudi “Gold-Plated Toilet Seat Terrorist” Arabia continues to assist in the murder of American citizens and soldiers.

      Paybacks are long overdue.

“The Turkish Foreign Ministry summoned German Ambassador to Turkey Martin Erdmann on Dec. 7 to convey Ankara’s reaction after airport police in Cologne temporarily held Turkish Parliament Deputy Speaker Ay?enur Bahçekap?l? due to a problem with her passport, diplomatic sources have told the Hürriyet Daily News.

President Recep Tayyip Erdo?an slammed Germany after the incident.

“You take and host terrorists but you make the deputy parliamentary speaker of this country wait for hours at the airport. Shouldn’t we do the same to them? And then they call Erdo?an a dictator!” he said in an address to local neighborhood heads on Dec. 7.

Erdo?an also threatened Berlin with “retaliation” if the officers involved are not probed.

“Turkey will have to retaliate in kind if the necessary actions are not taken against the officers involved,” he added, noting that “many terrorists freely roam around Europe” despite the fact that Turkey has demanded their deportation.

“Whether or not they deport. We will continue to put our own tactics in place,” Erdo?an said…”

  35. AUSTRALIA – ‘Bomb’ found at Penrith electrical substation

THE Bomb Squad has been deployed to an electricity substation in Penrith following the discovery of an explosive device with a detonator attached this morning.

Workers at the Kingswood electricity substation on Smith Street found what’s understood to be a petrol bomb with a detonator shortly before 9am

Police confirmed that fire crews and bomb technicians were en route to the scene and that an exclusion zone had been established.

A source said the device had been placed strategically – the substation controls power to the electricity grid feeding the general Penrith area.

    This includes its nearby hospitals.

“If it [the device] goes up it’ll take Penrith Hospital and the private hospital,” an official told The Daily Telegraph.

The bomb is said to be a lunch-box sized container full of a petrol-looking substance and a device similar to a mobile phone attached with wires protruding.

NSW Police issued a statement saying a number of “unattended objects” were in the process of being removed.

“The examination has not been able to determine the contents [of the device],” police said.

“They will be removed and forensically examined.”

  36. Dems demand briefings on whether Russia titled election

Are Democrats still in denial over Trump’s victory over Hillary Clinton? Some are demanding briefings on whether Russia somehow interfered in the election. Rep. Adam Schiff sounds off to Tucker

    • No they know he won what they are trying to do is cast doubts on the legitimacy of his win, deny him a mandate and make it hard for him implement his agenda. They did this with George W and will do it to everyone person who wins a Presidential election against them. They want to destroy the peaceful transfer of power we have just as they want to destroy the Constitution and the rule of law.

  37. Merkel urges Germans to stick to facts on refugee crime

Chancellor Angela Merkel insisted on Wednesday that Germany’s record refugee influx last year had not led to a surge in violent crime, amid a rash of headline-grabbing cases.

Asked about the rape-murder of a German student allegedly committed by a teenage Afghan asylum seeker and the recent arrest of a 31-year-old Iraqi asylum seeker over the sexual assaults of two Chinese students, Merkel urged Germans to stick to the known facts.

“These are terrible isolated incidents,” Merkel told rolling news channel N-tv on the sidelines of her CDU party’s annual conference in the western city of Essen.

She called for “tough sentencing” in such cases but said she had faith in “the response of Germany’s rule of law”, adding that general suspicion of refugees was not called for.

“We have looked closely at the crime rate among refugees and the picture is varied. That is also the right answer: that you have to differentiate,” she said.

“The fact that some people want to exploit that is something we have to withstand and defend ourselves against.”

Interior Minister Thomas de Maiziere, a close Merkel ally, presented an official report on Tuesday about crimes committed by refugees and said it showed it was unfair to tar all newcomers with the same brush.

He said that property crimes were elevated among asylum seekers from Georgia, for example, compared to the general population, but that the findings showed no such trend among Syrians, who represent a much larger share of the latest influx.

Merkel, who is running for a fourth term in a general election next year, is confronting deep ambivalence among Germans about the arrival since early 2015 of more than one million asylum seekers.

While many have welcomed Merkel’s decision to take in people fleeing war and misery, she has also seen a backlash among those doubtful about the ability of Europe’s top economic power to integrate the newcomers.

A resurgent right-wing populist party, the AfD, has managed to capitalize on such fears, making strong gains in a string of state elections this year.

This week it directly linked Merkel’s liberal border policy to the sex crimes against the three students.

  38. TORONTO – Police allege Toronto teen planned to attack local school on anniversary of Montreal Massacre

Officers say they found a number of weapons, including a machete, swords and knives in teen’s home

A 17-year-old boy is facing charges after police found a machete and other weapons at his home that investigators allege he planned to use to attack a school on the 27th anniversary of the Montreal Massacre.

Police did not provide specific details about the alleged threat, saying only that “the timing and the date is not coincidental.” Police say the alleged threat was made online.

“He was aware of the significance of that date and we believe that’s why the allegation for that attack was for that day,” said Const. Craig Brister.

Police say they identified a teen as the source of the alleged threat made against Oakwood Collegiate Institute, on St. Clair Avenue West near Dufferin Street, on Dec. 1.

Officers searched the boy’s home on Tuesday. There, they found a number of weapons, including a machete, a hatchet, two swords, four knives, and arrows, police said.

Police allege the teenager had planned some sort of attack on the school on Tuesday, which was also the anniversary of the massacre at École Polytechnique in Montreal in 1989.

The boy has been charged with uttering threats of bodily harm and uttering death threats.

The Toronto District School Board confirmed that he attends a school in the district but wouldn’t say if it was Oakwood Collegiate Institute.

Police say the accused appeared in court on Tuesday. He cannot be identified because of provisions in the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

Boy, 17, plotted to attack high school on Montreal Massacre anniversary: police

A 17-year-old boy is facing charges after he allegedly wrote on a blog that he was preparing to attack Oakwood Collegiate Institute on the 27th anniversary of the massacre at École Polytechnique de Montréal.

Toronto police Det. Len Nicholson told CP24 a tipster calling from the western United States warned of a threat posted on a blog on Dec. 1.

He said the threat specifically cited Oakwood Collegiate located at 991 St. Clair Ave. W.

Nicholson said police – through Internet service providers – were able to trace the threat to a Toronto District School Board computer.

A review of login information allowed police to identify the suspect.

Further investigation revealed that the suspect planned to attack the school with a number of bladed weapons on Tuesday – the 27th anniversary of the attack in Montreal where 14 women were shot dead and another 14 people were wounded by Marc Lépine in 1989.

Nicholson said the threat posted online made specific reference to the massacre. The post, however, did not identify specific targets, and was not specific to women.

A search warrant was executed at the suspect’s home on Tuesday and a number of weapons – including a machete, a hatchet, two swords, four knives and several arrows for a longbow – were seized.

Nicholson said a variety of computer equipment was also seized, along with articles of clothing investigators believe the suspect was planning to use to carry and conceal various weapons.

The suspect, who cannot be identified under the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, was arrested and charged with one count of uttering threats of death and one count of uttering threats of bodily harm.

Toronto District School Board spokesperson Ryan Bird said the school board was told of the threat on Monday afternoon after classes had been dismissed, and that the suspect was taken into custody sometime overnight Monday.

Const. Craig Brister could not say whether the suspect was a student of Oakwood Collegiate. Bird confirmed to CP24 that the suspect is a current student of the board, but would not elaborate further.

He appeared in court at 311 Jarvis St. on Tuesday morning. The boy, who was not previously known to police, was granted bail with “strict conditions,” Nicholson said.

The suspect has retained a lawyer and is not cooperating with investigators, Nicholson added.

“Obviously it’s concerning if we hear anything remotely like this, but the important thing is, the system worked,” Bird said.

Letters will be sent home with students today, Bird said, and counselling will be made available for any student at the high school who requests it.
