Syed Shah also conned the 28-year-old mum into handing over £6,000.

Shah, 30, of Latelow Road, Stechford, was found guilty of two charges of rape and one of fraud following a trial at Birmingham Crown Court.

Judge Patrick Thomas QC also ordered Shah, who had previously sexually assaulted another woman while performing a healing ritual, to pay the victim £10,000 compensation.

  2. ISIS plot to poison kids with arsenic ice cream and BOMB nursery car park foiled (express, Nov 30, 2016)
    http://www.express.co.uk/news/world/738133/ISIS-bomb-plot-murder-kindergarten-children-poison-ice-cream

“AN ISIS plot to feed poisoned ice cream to kindergarten children before detonating a bomb in their nursery car park has been revealed in Germany.

The gruesome plan came to light during hearings of two Islamic State fanatics who blew up a Sikh temple in the industrial city of Essen during wedding celebrations.

Mohammed O., 17, one of the temple bombers who carried out the assault in April which wounded four people, planned to sell the toxic ices before blowing himself up in the midst of the children.

Yusuf T., 17, was the leader of the so-called Temple bomber group.

The young Salafists first formed their murder gang on Whatsapp and built bombs from ingredients ordered from online retailer Amazon.

When they were captured after the bombing a letter that Mohammed O. had written to Yusuf T. while he was in detention was intercepted by guards.

On it he posed the question: “May one kill targeted children?”

Then the final question was put to his leader: “Can I make Istis hadi Amaliya (suicide) in the kindergarten too?”

He also suggested in the two page letter written on A4 paper if it might also be possible to crash the van into the kindergarten.

And further he asked if it was permissible for him to “rape the girls of the enemies of the Prophet Muhammad.”…”

    • The group that attacked Sikh temple consisted of 5 people. Three of them Mohammed B., Yusuf T. ( 16) and Tolga I (17) were underage and they were sentenced earlier in different trial. The three were found guilty of attempted murder, aggravated assault, and causing an explosion. They were not convicted of terrorism.
2 other perpetrators, Muhammed Ö.and Hilmi T. (20) from Münster, were having a separate process. It was during the course of the later process that the letter came to light.
Here is link describing earlier process.

“GOVERNMENTS seeking to curtail the spread of extremist content online risk jeopardising free speech and privacy rights, an international group comprising some of the largest US technology firms said in a report today.

The Global Network Initiative said companies should not be pressured by governments to change their terms of service, and demands to restrict content due to public safety concerns need to be consistent with existing legal frameworks.

Members of the group, which began developing its recommendations in July 2015, include Microsoft Corp, Alphabet Inc’s Google, Facebook Inc, LinkedIn Corp and Yahoo! Inc, and civil society groups and academics.

The report came as governments around the world are pushing companies to do more to stop digital proselytising on the internet by Islamic jihadists and other extremist groups…”

  4. SWEDEN BURNING: Stockholm in flames as car fire epidemic rages in ‘no-go’ zone (express, Nov 30, 2016)
    http://www.express.co.uk/news/world/738151/Sweden-Stockholm-car-fire-epidemic-rage-no-go-zone

“SHOCKING footage of cars burning out in Stockholm has emerged as the fire epidemic continues to spread uncontrolled throughout crisis-hit Sweden.

The Scandinavian country has been plagued with arsonist thugs setting vehicles alight, with hundreds of cars burning out since 2015.

In 2016 alone, more than 70 cars have been destroyed as police struggle to combat the increasing violence and criminal activity in the famously liberal country.

The latest video shows three cars in Hallunda in southern Stockholm engulfed by flames as firefighters battle to put out the blaze.

Overnight Sunday another car was also reported to be burning out in the crime hotbed, which was heavily hit by arson attacks in 2015.

Hallunda was one of the cities which was placed on Sweden’s National Criminal Investigation Service’s list over “no-go” zones due to the police force’s increased lack of control over anti-social behaviour.

In February, Express.co.uk reported the Scandinavian country had seen a huge surge in crime since the start of the migrant crisis in Europe – with a rise in sex assaults, drug dealing and children carrying weapons.

At the time around 50 areas were put on a “blacklist” which are then divided into three categories from “risk areas” to “seriously vulnerable” as it was announced Stockholm had over 20 no-go areas where over 75,000 people live.

However, the figure was increased to 55 in September as the Swedish police force face a recruitment crisis, with on average three officers handing in their notice every day.

Hallunda, with a population with just over 14,000, was one of the areas where it was claimed violence was flourishing due to high immigration, low employment rates and bad living conditions.

In 2015 alone Sweden, with a population of 9.5million, received over 160,000 asylum applications, resulting in the country closing its internal borders despite being a member of the Schengen Area, in a desperate attempt to halt the migrant influx.

The report also said children aged 12 carry weapons for older criminals and 70 cars and buildings were set on fire in an arson spate last year.

The southern city of Malmo suffered a surge of violence over the summer, as almost a 100 car fires ripped through the country’s third-largest city.

In September, police said they believed the crimes were an act of revenge following a crackdown on organised crime in the city.

Officer Erik Jansåker said: “This, in my opinion, is criminal people who are [lashing out] because of our efforts to [crack down] on the serious organised crime.”

The fires, in addition to the unprecedented levels of crime and immigration, has lead to the police across the Scandinavian country pleading for the government to grant them more resources as the force struggles to adequately police the “no-go” areas.

In October, a shocking letter sent into VLT.se by a migrant claimed the spate of car fires were carried out by asylum seekers because “racist Swedes” treated them badly.

Police in Denmark are also struggling to stop the car fire attacks with more than 200 vehicles burning out since New Year’s Eve.”

  5. Hungary sentences Syrian migrant to 10 years in jail for border riot (dailymail, Nov 30, 2016)
    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/wires/reuters/article-3986138/Hungary-sentences-Syrian-migrant-10-years-jail-border-riot.html

“A Hungarian court on Wednesday sentenced a Syrian-Cypriot man to 10 years in jail his part in a riot at the border with Serbia last year, when he hurled rocks at police in an attempt to force the border open, deemed an “act of terror” under Hungarian law.

Ahmed Hamed, 40, broke into tears as a judge handed down the preliminary ruling. His was the longest prison term in the recent migration crisis, in which Hungary emerged as one of the toughest opponents of mass immigration.

Hamed was part of a group that crossed illegally into Hungary on Sept. 16 last year and also spoke to the crowd using a loudspeaker before hundreds of migrants forced open the border gate and police fired water cannon and tear gas.”

  6. Italy’s referendum will COLLAPSE EURO – chilling warning from investor who forecast Brexit
AN INVESTOR who correctly predicted Britain would leave the European Union (EU) before the referendum has now forecasted the euro will collapse.

Jim Mellon, the Chairman of the Burnbrae Group, has warned the currency will become a victim in the growing anti-establishment surge which will cause the EU to fracture – all within five years.

He said: “Brexit is going to be a sideshow to the problems of Europe that are becoming more and more evident.

“The euro as it stands at the moment is just a very inappropriate mechanism — I give the euro between one and five years of life.”

    http://www.express.co.uk/news/politics/737986/Brexit-Euro-collapse-Italy-referendum-investor-prediction

Richard: Given the worlds economic problems the collapse of the Euro is a given, the only question is when? With the massive Islamic invsion welcomed by the leftist politicians in the EU the collapse of first the Euro and then the EU is a given both are simply a matter of time

The collapse of the Euro will probably the trigger for massive push back by the people who will be desperate to preserve their families, one of the real big things they will be after is to keep local jobs for locals.another will be to elect politicians who will fight for the citizens, their culture and the survival of their nations.

Face it folks multiculturalism is dead the question is how long will its death throes be and how bloody?

  7. In France as in the U.S., the populist insurgency is gaining ground

    Published: Nov 30, 2016 8:09 a.m. ET

France is now facing a likely choice in next spring’s presidential election between a candidate of the far right and a rival from the extreme right.

Further proof — after the victory in the U.S. of a presidential candidate many voters see as a right-wing extremist with fascist tendencies — that Western democracies are swinging to the right, n’est-ce pas?

    Not really.

If anything, the upset victory of former Prime Minister François Fillon in the primary vote of the conservative Republicans this month shows that the classic distinctions between right, left and center are losing much of their meaning. The big-picture trend is a widespread populist insurgency against the political establishment.

Fillon’s victory over former French President Nicolas Sarkozy and another former prime minister, Alain Juppé, on a platform nearly as nationalist and Islamophobic as that of the National Front marks another rejection of mainstream politics. Fillon, a dour personality who Sarkozy himself made fun of, was an underdog candidate, polling in third place just days before the primary vote.

  8. German domestic intelligence official arrested in Islamic terror plot
    By J.E. Dyer November 30, 2016

These days, everything you warn about happens so fast. Time was when it took years to demonstrate what a bad idea some new policy was. Now it seems to happen within hours.

Earlier today, we ran a headline on how Angela Merkel, responding to the increased threat to Germany, is going to expand her country’s intelligence capabilities, both at home and abroad.

Commenting on that, I was less than enthusiastic about the “domestic spying” part:

It’s a different proposition to increase domestic surveillance. It’s not just part of an overall increase in the intelligence effort. It’s a change in the relationship of the German state to the German citizen. If you find that that’s increasingly the answer to your policy problems — you’re doing something wrong.

    http://libertyunyielding.com/2016/11/30/german-domestic-intelligence-official-arrested-islamic-terror-plot/

    • Be sure and read the full article.

I agree with Dyer the scary thing is the massively increased spying by the German Government, and they are spying one everyone instead of concentrating on a few threats. The Gestapo and the Stasi have been reborn and are already infiltrated by the enemy (one of them) of civilization.

But take a few steps into nearby Victoria Square, and you’ll find a shocking world of survival sex and exploitation.

The sex trade has always existed here, but it’s now exacerbated by a swelling number of refugees arriving from the Middle East.

  10. Bigwig Daesh Recruiter Still on the Loose in Sweden After 15 Years

A former Stockholm resident suspected of involvement in the Paris and Brussels terror attacks also had links with a radical Islamist network in the Nordic country, whose Swedish Security Police SÄPO tried in vain to stop for over 15 years.
Swedish national broadcaster SVT has in collaboration with the German TV-channel ARD gained access to over 4,000 names that have leaked directly from Daesh, revealing the identities of thousands of European citizens who traveled to Syria to join the terrorists, among them 12 Swedes.

Algerian-born Mohamed Aziz Belkaid reportedly co-masterminded the terrorist attacks in Paris and Brussels, in which 162 people died, and was himself shot dead by Belgian police before the bombings in the Belgian capital took place.
Belkaid lived in the Stockholm suburb of Märsta between 2009 and 2013. In 2014, he traveled to Syria and signed up for Daesh suicide missions, SVT revealed. Whereas it was previously unknown when and how exactly Belkaid became indoctrinated, new evidence suggests that his radicalization was likely to have taken place in Sweden. Belkaid was found to have lived or been registered at the same apartment as a suspected Daesh recruiter and jihadist known as Abu Omar. Incidentally, the men who planned a revenge attack on the Copenhagen-based newspaper Jyllands-Posten, which notoriously published cartoons of Prophet Muhammad to the dismay of the Muslim world, were reportedly part of the same network
Belkaid worked at one of Abu Omar’s stores in Stockholm and even attended the same mosque. The stores operated for a long time as a meeting place for men with extremist views. In 2006, cash in envelopes labelled with a name of al-Qaeda leaders, was found in the apartment together with over 150,000 SEK in cash ($17,000).
This is a fascinating revelation that shows how these structures work and how they organize themselves. Although security bodies have all eyes on them, a figure like this anyway manages to get away and play a fundamental role,” American journalist Sebastian Rotella, who specializes in al-Qaeda and Daesh, said, as quoted by SVT.

SÄPO would not comment on whether or not Mohamed Belkaid was under surveillance before joining Daesh. Notably, Belkaid, who was wanted by Belgian police, had a police record in Sweden for committing a number of minor offences, including theft and illegal knife possession. His misdemeanors, nevertheless, never qualified as adequate grounds for deportation back to Algeria.
n regards to Abu Omar, SÄPO tried to stop him for over 15 years, but in vain. Despite serious suspicions, he was never convicted of any terrorist crime or major felony, although several intelligence sources pointed him out as a recruiter for terrorist groups.
“Abu Omar is a so-called ‘broker.’ He does not operate on the frontline. Instead, he is the one who lubricates the money machinery through contacts and encouragement. He has very good contacts and is a fixture in the international extremist environment,” an anonymous source with insight into SÄPO’s work told SVT.
According to another anonymous source, Abu Omar functioned like a “sugar cube” attracting angry young men through the respect he had gained in extremist circles.Abu Omar first caught SÄPO’s interest in the 90s, when he was part of the leadership of a radical mosque in the Stockholm suburb of Brandbergen. Later, he was identified as a terrorist recruiter and paymaster by several countries intelligence services. Although he never qualified for the FN list of terrorists, he was nevertheless put on the US watch list of suspected terrorists.

As of today, Omar’s exact whereabouts remain unknown. In the Swedish population register, he has been deregistered as “missing,” with his shops closed. According to other sources, Abu Omar remains in Sweden and is still looking to persuade young men to join Daesh.

“Greek authorities picked up about 70 migrants, including children, in a snowy forest near the northern city of Thessaloniki on Wednesday, as smugglers turned to previously popular routes into the European Union rather than the sea crossing from Turkey.

Members of the group, who said they were from Syria, told Greek police they had crossed the Evros River on the Greek-Turkish border in dinghies and were then brought to Thessaloniki hidden in a truck.

The truck driver left them in the forest late Tuesday, and they spent the night there in the snow, authorities said. Police are searching for the driver.

  12. Norway: Italy Pulls Back Radical Cleric Extradition Request (abcnews, Nov 30, 2016)
    http://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/norway-italy-pulls-back-radical-cleric-extradition-request-43870859

“Italy has decided to pull back an extradition request for a Norway-based radical Iraqi-born cleric suspected of enticing recruits to fight in Iraq and Syria, the Norwegian security service said Wednesday.

The PST agency says Najmaddin Faraj Ahmad — known as Mullah Krekar — will be released Wednesday.

Italy had claimed Mullah Krekar is behind Rawti Shax, a European-wide network aimed at violently overthrowing the government in the Iraqi-Kurdish region and replacing it with a radical caliphate. Norwegian courts had permitted his extradition — something Krekar had opposed.

Krekar’s lawyer Brynjar Meling, whose client has denied the accusation, told Norwegian broadcaster NRK “it is a victory for the rule of law.” Krekar holds a Norwegian residence permit.

It wasn’t immediately clear when or why the Italians retracted the extradition request…”

    • Norway to free Islamist after Italy cancels extradition request

Norway’s public prosecutor ordered on Wednesday the release of an Iraqi Kurdish imam after Italian authorities withdrew a year-old extradition request linked to suspicions he had plotted attacks.

Mullah Krekar, the one-time leader of the Ansar al-Islam militant group, was arrested in Norway in November 2015 as part of a series of arrests across Europe. Italian prosecutors later asked for his extradition.

But Norway’s Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) said Italian authorities had withdrawn the request for the cleric’s extradition, without clearly explaining the reasons.

A DPP statement said it was “ordering the release of Mullah Krekar.”

Prime Minister Erna Solberg bowed to the ruling on Krekar, who has been a thorn in the side of successive Norwegian governments. “This is something we have to accept,” she told a news conference, saying it was not up to politicians to decide.

Though deemed a threat to Norway’s national security, Krekar has not been deported to Iraq because authorities there could not guarantee he would not be executed.

Last week, Norway’s Supreme Court had approved the extradition to Italy of Krekar, who came to Norway as a refugee from Iraq in 1991 and has spent several periods in jail. [nL8N1DO26L]

Last year, Italian authorities said that at least 15 suspected members of a militant Islamist group including Krekar were arrested in six European countries, accused of planning attacks in Europe and the Middle East.

Krekar’s arrest last year took place in prison, where he was already serving an 18-month sentence for making death threats against a Kurdish man and giving an interview in which he encouraged other people to commit criminal acts.

Norway’s DPP said the letter from Italy’s justice ministry sent on Nov. 25 said an Italian court ruling in March had voided the basis for extradition.

The DPP said the Italian letter did not explain the March ruling nor say why it had taken so long to withdraw the extradition request.

  13. Germany: Court upholds PEGIDA founder Bachmann’s fine for inciting racial hatred

A district court upheld a lower court’s decision to fine PEGIDA founder Lutz Bachmann €9,600 ($10,220) for inciting racial hatred, during a hearing in Dresden on Wednesday.

Bachmann, who did not appear in court, was found guilty in May of inciting racial hatred after posting messages on Facebook in which he described refugees as “cattle and “scum.” That verdict was upheld by the Dresden district court on Wednesday. The prosecution’s appeal for a prison sentence, and the defence’s for acquittal have both now been dropped.

SOT, Katja Reichel, Lutz Bachmann’s Defence Lawyer (German): “I am very satisfied. Both [prosecution and defence] have withdrawn their appeal and Mr Bachman and his defence are absolutely satisfied. Everything is alright. Let’s see now how it goes now.”

SOT, Corinna Michaelis, Press Spokesperson of the Dresden district court (German): “The judge has made it clear that he thinks the decision is well justified, especially the value of the fine, and a withdrawal [of an appeal] is not uncommon. Both have quickly declared, Mr Bachmann’s representative and the prosecution, and thereby the court’s decision with the already-pronounced sentence is legally binding.”

  14. Islamists Won: Charlie Hebdo Disappears

    by Giulio Meotti
    November 30, 2016 at 5:00 am

    https://www.gatestoneinstitute.org/9425/charlie-hebdo-disappears

Over twenty years, fear has already devoured important pieces of Western culture and journalism. They all disappeared in a ghastly act of self-censorship: the cartoons of a Danish newspaper, a “South Park” episode, paintings in London’s Tate Gallery, a book published by the Yale University Press; Mozart’s Idomeneo, the Dutch film “Submission”, the name and face of the US cartoonist Molly Norris, a book cover by Art Spiegelman and Sherry Jones’s novel, “Jewel of Medina”, to name just a few. Most of them have become ghosts living in hiding, hidden in some country house, or retired to private life, victims of an understandable but tragic self-censorship.

Only the French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo was missing from this sad, long list. Until now.

The disappointment with what Charlie Hebdo has become is reflected in the words of the French journalist, Marika Bret: “From Italy we receive many threats.” The reference is not to some Italian jihadist cell, but to a September Charlie Hebdo cover that mocked victims of the earthquake in Italy. It seems that the satirical weekly, almost destroyed by French Islamists two years ago, has been “normalized”.

Take Charlie’s recent covers. Against terrorists? No. Against those who called them “racists”? No. It was against Éric Zemmour, the brave French journalist at Le Figaro who has led a public debate about French identity. “Islam is incompatible with secularism, incompatible with democracy, and incompatible with republican government,” Zemmour wrote.

Laurent Sourisseau, aka “Riss,” now the publishing director and majority owner of Charlie, was shot during the 2015 attack on the magazine, and lives under police protection. He depicted Zemmour on the cover with an explosive vest, effectively comparing him to a terrorist.

Charlie Hebdo also recently satirized Nadine Morano, a critic of Islam, depicting her as a baby with Down Syndrome.

Riss also recently published a comic book attacking another easy target of submissive conformists, entitled “The Dark Side of Marine Le Pen.” Le Pen leads France’s National Front party, with a platform fighting for national sovereignty and Europe’s Judeo-Christian identity. In Charlie, the political leader of the French “right” is dressed as Marilyn Monroe.

  15. Denmark: Nigel Farage and German journalist engage in war of words

Former UK Independence Party (UKIP) leader Nigel Farage engaged in a war of words with German journalist Elmar Thevessen at a NewsXchange event in Copenhagen on Wednesday.

Responding to allegations that UKIP had discussed “radical Islam” during the Brexit referendum campaign, Farage said “I did not mention the issue of the ‘Islamisation’ of Europe; I didn’t mention it once, didn’t talk about it at all in the referendum campaign.”

SOT, Nigel Farage (English): “You know something, your deep deep prejudice, and maybe mainstream media is going down the tubes if people like you stay in senior positions. I didn’t even mention the issue of Islam once, I didn’t mention it once.”

Farage: “I said we need to talk about this, you’re very good at talking, try a bit of listening, maybe all of you should … I did not mention the issue of the ‘Islamisation’ of Europe; I didn’t mention it once, didn’t talk about it at all in the referendum campaign. Not once, it was not even part of our debate, or part of our narrative, but the idea that we’re … actually, you’re the people that have been lying, you’re the ones that have been telling us the euro would be good for us, political union would be good for us …”

Thevessen: “Together with all the right-wing populist parties in Europe in the European Parliament who are actually making this case that we are facing an ‘Islamisation’ of Europe …”

Farage: “But I don’t sit with them do I? I don’t sit with them … or don’t you know that?”

Thevessen: “Oh, you had conversations …

Farage: “Oh, oh, in the coffee room, bloody hell, I must have done something awful.”

Thevessen: “I’m sorry, but UKIP is coordinating in part some of the actions, the political action of propaganda with other parties like the AfD in Germany.”

Farage: “It’s very sweet of you to think of me, you know, sitting somewhere stroking a white cat, planning the downfall of ‘Western civilisation,’ but I’m sorry to tell you I find it remarkable that just because I have a different view of the world to you, all you can do is throw abuse, call me a liar and say I am a populist. It says more about you than it does about me.”

Thevessen: “Talk about the numbers, you are refusing to do that.”

    Farage: “What numbers?”

Host: “What are you alleging that Mr Farage is saying?”

Thevessen: “That the right-wing populists in Europe across the board are basically using the numbers of increasing, the number of Muslims in Europe, basically telling people that 50 years from now, 100 years from now there will be a Muslim majority in Europe, which is plainly wrong. And if you look at the numbers then you can see that, but this is withheld by those parties.”

Host: “Let Mr Farage answer …”

Farage: “This is not part of my debate, I mean I’m not worried about Islam at all. And … I’ve had significant Islamic support, activists joining my party. I’m worried about radical Islam, and I’m worried that people like you might not be actually telling the truth about it.”

  16. WaPo-Arrested German spy was a onetime gay porn actor — and a secret Islamist

BERLIN — Two weeks ago, German intelligence agents noticed an unusual user in a chat room known as a digital hideout for Islamic militants. The man claimed to be one of them — and said he was a German spy. He was offering to help Islamists infiltrate his agency’s defenses to stage a strike.

Agents lured him into a private chat, and he gave away so many details about the spy agency — and his own directives within it to thwart Islamists — that they quickly identified him, arresting the 51-year-old the next day. Only then would the extent of his double life become clear.

The German citizen of Spanish descent confessed to secretly converting to Islam in 2014. From there, his story took a stranger turn. Officials ran a check on the online alias he assumed in radical chat rooms. The married father of four had used it before — as recently as 2011 — as his stage name for acting in gay pornographic films.

Authorities on Tuesday said they had arrested him on suspicion of preparing to commit a violent act and for violating state secrecy laws. His arrest was first reported in Germany’s Der Spiegel. But two German officials familiar with the case — a senior intelligence official and a senior law enforcement official — revealed significant details about his double life. They include his role in pornographic films, which could cast a fresh light on the judgment and vetting of the German intelligence agency at a critical time.

News of the case sparked a storm of outrage in Germany, even as critics said it raised serious questions about the country’s bureaucratically named domestic spy agency, known as the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution (BfV).

As they scramble to contain a proliferation of new threats from the Islamic State terrorist group and lone wolves in Europe, German security officials have been credited with foiling plots. But they also have stumbled — including in the case of Jaber al-Bakr, a Syrian who was arrested last month on suspicion of planning an attack and who managed to kill himself while on a 24-hour suicide watch in a Leipzig jail cell.

Enter the unfolding case now of a porn actor-turned-Muslim-convert-turned-spy-turned-Islamist turncoat.

“It’s not only a rather bizarre, but also a quite scary, story that an agency, whose central role it is to engage in counterespionage, hired an Islamist who potentially had access to classified information, who might have even tried to spread Islamist propaganda and to recruit others to let themselves be hired by and possibly launch an attack” against the domestic intelligence agency, said Hans-Christian Ströbele, a member of the Parliamentary Control Committee that oversees the work of the German intelligence services.

The agency “needs to tell us immediately what exactly happened and how it could happen that somebody like this was hired,” he said.

One senior BfV official, who discussed the matter on the condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak to the media defended the agency, said it was virtually impossible to protect against a breach like this.

“How should anyone have known this? He had acted under different names and identities online,” he said. “Not his real name. One has to say that we were able to find out about all this very quickly and also actions were taken fast.”

Officials were withholding the name of the 51-year old, as well as the alias he used as a porn actor and in chat rooms. Before he was hired in April, officials insist, he was thoroughly vetted. They said they had interviewed former employers and others who knew him.

Those who have interviewed the suspect say he may have been mentally ill, and perhaps even had multiple personalities, according to the senior intelligence official.

But in hindsight, even officials in German security circles were asking how such a lapse was possible.

“With all the information coming out about this individual, the question has to be raised: how he was able to end up in the intelligence service and was able to hide all this from his workplace but also his family,” said the senior law enforcement official, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss the case.

In April 2016, the man began working for the BfV, charged with monitoring potentially violent Islamists in Germany. The ranks of Salafists — an ultraconservative sect of Islam — have been rapidly growing. In September, Hans-Georg Maassen, head of the domestic spy agency, estimated that there are at least 9,200 in Germany, up from 5,500 three years ago.

However, other members of the German intelligence service also charged with watching chat rooms noticed a user who claimed that he was working for the domestic spy service and offering vital information. They began a direct chat with him.

The user offered to facilitate access to the spy agency’s headquarters in Cologne so that Islamist militants could commit violent acts “against unbelievers.” The man, however, provided so much detail about his directives and role at the agency that the spies chatting with him were able to identify and arrest him by the following day.

In custody, the man, officials say, admitted under interrogation that he was a secret convert to Islam and that he had the aim all along to infiltrate the domestic spy agency so he could warn “his religious brothers” about the agency’s investigations.

He told investigators that he had converted in 2014, after telephone conversations with somebody in Austria who went by the name Mohammed. Investigators asked him if this was Mohammed Mahmoud, an Austrian Egyptian who joined the Islamic State and who previously had run a website where he translated speeches of al-Qaeda leaders. The arrested man refused to confirm a surname.

Officials say there is no evidence yet that the suspect provided harmful details to Islamic militants. But German politicians charged with overseeing the domestic spy agency’s work were calling for a review of its vetting procedures.

“One can be grateful that this came out,” said André Hahn, a member of the agency’s parliamentary control committee from the Left Party. “But it appears to have been rather a coincidence. It could also have happened that he would have worked there for years.”

    • Germany: Intelligence agency denies ‘structural problems’ after infiltration by Islamic extremist

Speaking at a press conference in Berlin on Wednesday, a spokesperson for Germany’s Ministry of Internal Affairs said that there was “no indication of fundamental structural problems” in the domestic intelligence agency, which was recently infiltrated by an Islamic extremist who was hired six months ago.

Speaking at the Federal Press Conference building, Dr. Tobias Plate assured that “On the contrary, in this case was an unmasking in which the Federal Ministry essentially participated,” referencing the uncovering of the case by another employee.

SOT, Dr. Tobias Plate, press spokesperson of the Ministry for Internal Affairs (German): “The current status quo is that we have no indication of fundamental structural problems. On the contrary in this case was an unmasking in which the Federal Ministry essentially participated.”

SOT, Dr. Tobias Plate, press spokesperson of the Ministry for Internal Affairs (German): “About the current status quo of recruitment, I can report that there have been being many hiring for the new developed positions. Especially in a ministry that is active in the security business, the focus has to be caution over rapidity. But I cannot report about any specific problems regarding staffing the positions.”

SOT, Dr. Tobias Plate, press spokesperson of the Ministry for Internal Affairs (German): “I myself don’t know about any cases in recent history that would be similar to this or even similar in the slightest.”

CNN and other big media still haven’t learned and are still pushing contrived, one-sided, biased and untruthful propaganda. From the aptly named and quite busy, Newsbusters.com: CNN Touts Muslim Woman ‘Fearful’ After Trump Win; Omits Her Activism

Monday’s New Day on CNN played up how a young Muslim woman, Marwa Abdelghani, stopped wearing the traditional Islamic head scarf after an alleged spitting incident before Election Day: “It was getting closer and closer to November 8. That’s when I decided that I just was going to take it off for a while.” Kyung Lah gave Abdelghani a platform to denounce President-Elect Donald Trump for his “racist, Islamophobic, sexist statements,” but failed to mention that she acts as a “community outreach fellow” for an activist organization for American Muslims.

Alisyn Camerota reacted to Lah’s “interesting story” by expressing her hope that “there will be a movement where people wear the head scarf in solidarity…even if you’re not Muslim, maybe. It’s the way people shave their heads…sometimes, in solidarity with somebody who’s going through something. Maybe, you’ll see a wave of the opposite happening.”

There is a movement, it’s called ISIS. CAIR. HAMAS. ISNA. MSA. MAS. MPAC.[…]

  18. Secret Europol terror data found online (BBC, Nov 30, 2016)
    http://www.bbc.com/news/technology-38158258

“A police officer working for Europol exposed sensitive data about security investigations to the internet.

The European Union’s law enforcement agency acknowledged the error ahead of a Dutch documentary’s broadcast.

The TV programme Zembla said it had found more than 700 pages of confidential dossiers, including details of terrorism probes, on a hard drive linked to the net.

It said the networked drive was not password protected.

Europol said it had launched an investigation into the matter.

“Although this case relates to Europol sensitive information dating from around 10 years ago, Europol immediately informed the concerned member states,” a spokesman for the law agency said.

“As of today, there is no indication that an investigation has been jeopardised, due to the compromise of this historical data.

“Europol will continue to assess the impact of the data in question, together with concerned member states.”

A reporter for Zembla told the BBC that it found the documents via a service that specialises in finding internet-connected kit.

“We found the disk online through a search engine called Shodan,” said Vincent Verweij.

“We were able to remotely access the disk through the internet. It didn’t require a password.”

Zembla reported that documents contained the names and telephone numbers of hundreds of people associated with terrorism.

It added that they mostly dated from 2006 to 2008 and included investigations into the Madrid train bombings, the Hofstad Network – a Netherlands-based Islamist terror network – and foiled attacks on several flights.

In addition, it said, other investigations that had never been made public were revealed.

Europol confirmed that the officer had copied the data to a personal drive in “clear contravention” of its rules, but had since left its staff…”

  19. Columbus, Ohio, City Council Condemns Islamophobia with Resolution

The Columbus City Council on Monday unanimously passed a resolution condemning Islamophobia and declaring support for the Islamic community in the city.

“Our city of Columbus is very proud of our diversity, and this resolution was taking a stand against a lot of rhetoric nationally and in the state of Ohio,” Councilmember Michael Stinziano, who introduced the resolution, told NBC News.

The resolution comes as Muslims across the country have seen a spike in intimidation, discrimination, and harassment, according to the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR). In Ohio, the state’s chapter of CAIR is currently representing 60 clients who have faced discrimination, its largest number of cases since the chapter was founded in 1998, according to one of the organization’s attorneys.

“And that’s not the number of incidents reported, that’s just the number we’re representing,” Roman Iqbal, CAIR Ohio staff attorney, told NBC News.

Among cases CAIR Ohio is currently working include an employment discrimination complaint alleging that the police department refused to allow female police officers to wear head scarves. Iqbal said other cases involve individuals who were terminated because they wanted to pray, while others have reported housing discrimination.

With all the current cases, Iqbal said CAIR is pleased with the city council’s decision on Monday.

“I hope that this resolution lowers the anti-Muslim sentiment, which unfortunately has been on the rise this year. And we hope people understand that Muslims belongs in Columbus: They’re coworkers, neighbors and friends,” Iqbal said. “We thank the city council for standing up for Muslims, [who] have a position in Columbus and should be treated with respect, just like any other community in Columbus.”

The idea for the resolution, Stinziano said, stemmed from the Jewish Voice for Peace of Central Ohio, who told him during his regular weekly community hours that it was something the city should do.

“I’m proud to have the resolution passed. I was very encouraged by tremendous support from members of not only Muslim community, but that of many other faith communities in the city of Columbus,” he said.

Before Monday’s city council meeting, a roundtable discussion highlighted Columbus’ interfaith community’s support for the resolution and allowed other community members to share what the resolution means to them, Stinziano said.

“Columbus is a stronger city because of the incredible diversity of our residents,” Councilmember Elizabeth Brown, co-sponsor of the legislation, said before the roundtable took place. “We reject the hateful rhetoric about Muslims that some use in a cynical attempt to divide our communities for political advantage. We know that the Muslim community loves our city, and we are glad to have the chance for discussion about how we continue to build an inclusive Columbus.”

Hours after the resolution passed, subsequent steps to enhance its symbolic nature hadn’t yet been finalized. Some suggestions that have been made, however, include additional cultural training and possibly a school holiday, Stinziano said.

  20. Now French police to be equipped with 9mm handguns amid heightened terror threat (express, Nov 30, 2016)
    http://www.express.co.uk/news/world/738388/French-police-terror-threat-handguns-armed-government

“FRENCH municipal police will be “given the right” to carry a semi-automatic handgun when on patrol to help thwart the increasing terror threat, government officials have confirmed.

The country’s national police are already heavily armed, but their municipal counterparts are often weaponless – leaving them unable to respond to a terror attack.

But following the unprecedented string of Islamic State-inspired militant attacks over the past two years, police union representatives said said municipal officers had to be “better equipped” in order to protect civilians in a Paris-style jihadi attack.

Officials said in a statement: “Municipal police officers will now have the right to carry a 9mm semi-automatic handgun when patrolling the streets.”

Security agents employed by the SNCF, a state-owned railway company, and by the RATP, the state-owned Paris transport corporation, will also be authorised to carry a 9mm semi-automatic handgun while on patrol…”

Ms Kahn wrote on Twitter: “These mats are extremely offensive to Muslims and out of order. @amazon @AmazonHelp please remove these from your site immediately.”

  22. Saudi Tweets Call For Execution Of Woman Without Hijab

A number of Saudi social media users reacted with anger when a woman posted Monday a picture showing her in Riyadh without the traditional body covering known as the abaya and headscarf known as the hijab.

A 21-year-old student from the city of Dammam who called herself Sara Ahmed for fear that her real name could put her in danger shared the tweet of a woman named Malak Al Shehri photographed wearing a dark blue coat, bright multicolored skirt and boots. Next to the picture, she included screenshots of three tweets by accounts calling for justice and even violence against Shehri. All three tweets included an Arabic hashtag that translates to “We demand the imprisonment of the rebel Angel Al Shehri.” The name Malak translates to “Angel” in Arabic.

“Kill her and throw her corpse to the dogs,” @ab_alshdadi wrote, while @ilQil tweeted “we want blood.” Many others insulted Shehri’s morals.

Ahmed explained that Shehri tweeted to her followers from her account @AngelQShe, which has since been deleted, saying she was going out to breakfast without wearing a hijab or abaya. Her followers asked her to post a picture. The photo began circulating throughout social media in Saudi Arabia, and Shehri ultimately received hateful messages.

“So many people retweeted it and what she did reached extremists, so she got threats. She deleted her tweets but they didn’t stop, so she deleted her account,” Ahmed told International Business Times over Twitter.

Many other users came out in support of Shehri’s actions.

“Just imagine one day you slept and then woke up to people calling for your imprisonment only because you changed your clothing. Now you know the extent of the oppression against women in Saudi Arabia,” @abuahmedalqarni wrote. @msafr2002 tweeted: “The people have reached such a dangerous stage of extremism that they demand the imprisonment of a girl because she changed the way she dressed, if she was a foreigner it’d be fine.”

@danielcroona called Shehri “a modern Rosa Parks.”

Female users were especially vocal. “It’s about time to protest against this discriminative abaya prison against women,” tweeted @FarahAqqad. @uuuuuakj wrote: “They’re literally saying that ‘Covering her body is more important than her life.'”

International Business Times was unable to get in touch with Shehri. However, Ahmed, who identifies as atheist, said this is not an uncommon occurrence. She mentioned that just a couple of days ago, the phrase “Saudi women remove their abayas in the rain” was trending along with hateful and sexist comments. She said this sort of behavior restricts women from even the simplest of freedoms.

“I’m an atheist and I still wear the hijab in most places because that’s how society here is it’s inexcusable to remove it, in fact, many of my atheist friends have to cover their faces because their families are more conservative than mine, and it’s not just atheists, many Muslim women want to remove them,” she wrote.

“The tweets were sad, just basic things are dreams here,” she added.

Despite this reality, Ahmed said she has seen more Saudi women with uncovered faces and even without hijabs in major cities, especially among the younger generation.

Those who do cover up wear the abaya, the hijab, the niqab — a full body covering that leaves a slot open in front of the eyes — or the burka, a head-to-toe covering with a mesh veil in front of the eyes. Though dress code tolerance varies from region to region in Saudi Arabia, non-Muslim foreigners are usually required to at least wear the abaya and Muslim women to at least wear the hijab.

The state of women’s rights in Saudi Arabia has been criticized by international watchdog organizations. Civil liberties are some of the region’s most restrictive for women and the issue has been the subject of media investigations and documentaries such as the New York Times’ “Ladies First.”

  25. Dems Starting to Think Nuking the Filibuster was a Mistake
    November 30, 2016
    Daniel Greenfield

Our system of government was designed for rational actors, not ideologues. Rational actors understand checks and balances. Ideologues compartmentalize the power that they have and the power that their opponents have as representing two entirely separate universes. And they pretend that their abuses will not lead to abuses in response. That their actions won’t create a pattern.

Aside from all the moral and ethical arguments, this is not a rational position. One party’s actions in a system disturb the entire system. Obama’s unilateralism makes it possible for Trump to have far more freedom of action. And the ideologues of the donkey party are only now slowly realizing it.

    • Dem Senator: I’m kinda regretting nuking the filibuster on presidential appointments

When Harry Reid and the rest of the Senate Democrats teamed up three years ago to nuke the filibuster on presidential appointments, Republicans warned them they’d live to regret it. Now that day has arrived, and Chris Coons tells CNN’s Kate Bolduan he does regret it — mainly because, as Republicans tried to tell Democrats, they have no way of stopping a Republican president from appointing “extreme” nominees to key positions. Coons, who is trying to block Jeff Sessions’ nomination as Attorney General, says that Republicans need to help him and other Democrats out now.

He can whine, cry & stomp his foot all he wants, nothing he does will change the fact that he & his policies are destined for the trash heap.

    Washington:

US Secretary of State John Kerry warned Tuesday that he “will not go quietly into the night” as President-elect Donald Trump’s incoming administration prepares to shake up US foreign policy.

Addressing an association of women diplomats, Kerry said he would help ensure a smooth handover of power in his department but would continue to argue for environmental protection, foreign aid and strong alliances.

They lost the election but are going to continue their efforts to take the US to full communism. While they are doing this the Black Lives Matter and other Soros paid professional agitators and rioters will stir up massive amounts of trouble to try and cause Trump and his people to surrender and do things the way the alt left want. Failing that they think they can create a civil war they can win.

Many Russian expats expect ‘strong’ Trump leadership

West Hollywood resident Roman Finarovsky was sitting on a bench recently, watching his fellow seniors play chess and dominoes in Plummer Park. Not long before, he had cast his vote for Donald Trump, and now he was thrilled to find out his candidate had won the presidential election.

“Trump is going to be a strong leader,” the 76-year-old Russian Jew said. “He keeps his word. He will do everything in his power for people.”

As shock spread across the United States following a bitter election season that divided the nation, many Russian expats in the Los Angeles area united in their support of Trump.

    http://www.thelocal.ch/20161130/swiss-police-take-up-assault-rifles-over-terror-threat

“Police in Switzerland are arming themselves with assault rifles to be better prepared in the event of a terrorist attack, according to reports.

Stefan Blättler, chief of Bern cantonal police, told Swiss-German TV programme 10vor10 that his service had bought assault rifles for its police officers and that “several” other cantonal police services in the country were doing the same, reported news agencies on Wednesday.

Usually non-specialist police officers carry handguns but not assault rifles, which are only carried by specialist units.

But now officers are being trained to use the latter in “extreme situations”, Blättler told 10vor10.

The advantage of assault rifles – a long-range selective-fire gun frequently used by the military – is that “they can be used over a longer distance”, he said…”

    https://www.moroccoworldnews.com/2016/11/202691/moroccan-arrested-basque-country-planning-join-isis/

“The Spanish Civil Guard arrested, on Wednesday in Irun, in the autonomous region of the Basque Country (north), a Moroccan who was planning to join the terrorist organization of ISIL, said the Spanish Interior ministry.

The suspect is part of a group of radicalized people who have been under investigations, since 2013, by the civil Guard, said the same source in a statement, recalling that two members of this group were arrested on terrorism charges in December 2015 and last October, in Pamplona and Calahorra respectively.

The accused was carrying out, via the internet, propaganda activities for the benefit of ISIL, it went on, saying that this person further intensified his action, after the arrest of the two other terrorists, in social networks and through direct contacts with people in his surrounding.

The probe helped the Spanish security services to find out that the arrested man has tried recently to join ISIL, noting that he traveled to Turkey for this end and was deported thanks to international police cooperation.

The Spanish national police arrested, on Wednesday in Aranjuez (near Madrid), another Moroccan national living in Spain for suspicion of spreading ISIL jihadist propaganda, the Spanish interior ministry announced earlier in the day.”

“A military court sentenced the Supreme Guide of the Muslim Brotherhood Mohamed Badie and leading figure Mohamed El-Beltagy to ten years in prison on charges relating to the storming of an Ismailia court complex in 2013.

Islamist preacher Safwat Hegazy and Brotherhood figure Mohamed Wahdan were also handed ten-year prison terms by the court, while sentences ranging from life imprisonment to two years were handed to 299 other defendants.

The defendants can still appeal the sentences.

Badie, Hegazy, and El-Beltagy are all serving life sentences upheld by the Court of Cassation over a different violence-related case from 2013.

The Ismailia case dates back to August 2013 following the forced dispersal of pro-Brotherhood Rabaa El-Adawiya and Nahda protest camps; dozens of protesters stormed into the Islamilia court complex after the deadly dispersal and set it ablaze.

The defendants, who were referred to the Ismailia military court, were charged by the general prosecution with murder, the storming of a public institution, inciting violence and riots, and resisting police and military.”
