  1. Fidel Castro dead – Former President of Cuba dies aged 90 (express, Nov 26, 2016)
    http://www.express.co.uk/news/world/736728/fidel-castro-dead-90-years-old-cuba

“Fidel Castro has died aged 90, with days of mourning expected for the former Cuban leader.

The Communist ex-president had been in poor health for many years, reportedly blighted by intestinal problems.

But the cause of his death has not yet been revealed.

State television broadcast images of the historic figure’s body….”

      • This is an event well worth celebrating, he took a weathy and relitivitly free nation and turned it into a communisty hell hole that people died to flee.

        • Cuba before Castro

In considering Obama’s embrace of Castro’s Cuban gang, it is useful to recall that the greatest danger free minds face today is the calculated rewriting of history. Tsarist Russia, whose economy was growing much faster than any major nation’s through 1914 and whose cultural achievements amounted to a Golden Age, is invariably presented as horrible. Republican China, the most vital and overlooked ally in the Second World War, which also had a thriving economy and remarkable scientific and artistic achievements, is likewise presented as corrupt and weak.

Marxists made it their business to paint their predecessors as presiding over despicable regimes whose deliverance by communists was glorious and noble. It is no surprise, then, that we know almost nothing at all about Cuba before Castro, and what we “know” (or think we know) is little more than the sort of crude and ugly caricature we have come to expect from radical leftists defining their enemies.

What was Cuba like before Castro? It was ruled by Fulgencio Batista, invariably and idiotically portrayed as a “right-wing tyrant,” but there are no “left” and “right” that make sense at all in modern history. Batista’s story shows this truth well. He was a mixture of several races – black, Chinese, Indian, Spanish – unlike pure white Castro. Batista worked in the sugar plantations, unlike the affluent Castro. Batista’s background was proletarian, while Castro’s was pure bourgeois.

What was the politics of Batista? Batista described himself as a “progressive socialist,” and in 1934, long before Castro, it was Batista who first legalized the Communist Party in Cuba and put communists in his cabinet. When he won the presidency in 1940 by a comfortable margin in a free election, the Communist Party actively supported Batista. Small wonder, then, that Sumner Welles, undersecretary of state, warned FDR that Batista was a communist.

Unlike communists, who were pro-Hitler until June 22, 1941, Batista strongly opposed Hitler even during the Nazi-Soviet Alliance. John Gunther noted in 1940 that “[t]he Batista government has taken as strong action against Fifth Columnism as any other Latin American state” and that almost alone in Latin America, Batista included the Phalange in his anti-Fifth Columnist ban.

Batista, unlike Castro, voluntarily gave up power when his chosen successor in the 1944 Cuban elections lost the presidency, although he did seize powe

  2. ‘SEND THEM BACK’ Bulgarian PM orders mass deportations after rioting migrants trash camp (express, Nov 26, 2016)
    http://www.express.co.uk/news/world/736467/Migrant-crisis-Bulgaria-migrant-deportations-refugee-riot-camp-Turkey-border

“BULGARIA’S furious prime minister ordered officials to begin the mass deportation of hundreds of migrants who went on the rampage and trashed their camp.

Fuming Boiko Borisov vowed all migrants involved in the violent disturbance will be “brought to justice” with many being deported back to their home countries.

Riot police had to storm the camp yesterday using water cannon and rubber bullets to restore order at the camp on the border with Turkey, with 24 officers being injured in the operation.

Shocking photographs of the burning rubble of the camp showed gangs of young men milling around in hoodies. Most are from Afghanistan, according to officials.

Witnesses said the scene “looked like a war zone” after rampaging refugees smashed windows, overturned trash containers and set fires…”

  3. ‘Shiny new toys’: WikiLeaks reveals US plan to give $147mn in military hardware to Yemen (RT, Nov 25, 2016)
    https://www.rt.com/usa/368205-yemen-us-military-wikileaks/

“WikiLeaks has released hundreds of documents from the US embassy in Sana’a, Yemen, revealing details of America’s multi-million dollar military support for the government of the volatile country…

The document repeatedly notes the key risk of supplying Yemen with weapons is that the arms could potentially be used “for other purposes counter to US interests,” such as against Houthi rebels in northern Yemen, or secessionists in the south of the country.

It notes that “given the state of the Yemen economy” almost all of the money spent bolstering the Yemeni military is given in non-repayable loans from US government funds.

The documents says that between 2002 and 2008, the US gave the Yemeni government over $105m worth of weapons such as military trucks, machine guns, ammunition, armored personnel carriers and boats through non-repayable grants and donations…”

    • It looks like India is on its way to becoming the next Venezuela, and in a country with nuclear weapons and the beginnings of a war with a nuclear armed neighbor.

I can see several possible scenarios where nuclear weapons are used, and once the nukes start flying every possible target will find themselves in a use them or lose them situation. Thus it is unlikely that the exchange will be limited to India and Pakistan but will spread to China and Iran who in turn will retaliate with any nukes in their possession. Hopefully none will be launched at North America or if they are with luck our anti-missile defenses will stop most of them. There will always be one or more leakers who make it through the defenses but stopping most of them is better then stopping none.

    • This is really serious. The West needs a strong, industrializing India as a counterweight to Communist China. An implosion of the Indian economy will have catastrophic worldwide ripple effects.

Imagine if the USA suddenly voided the worth of all $10.00 and $20.00 currency notes. While rs500 is closer to $7.30 (rs1,000 = $14.60), the impact over there is more akin to ten and twenty USD banknotes going belly up.

At the very least, Modi’s reputation for lack of corruption just went into the toilet. The profiteering that will result from this move can only serve to help India’s mafias and (already insanely massive and corrupt) bureaucracy. Additional banning of gold imports—it is estimated that Indian housewives possess 11% of the world’s gold supply—will only exacerbate this ongoing financial crisis.

Other estimates place Indian public gold ownership at 20,000 tonnes (24,250 tons) with a 2012 gold price value of $1.16 trillion ($1,668.98 per oz. compared to 2015 price of $1,160.06). Any way you slice this, the financial instability of India’s economy will spell especial doom for its poor. Expect to see food riots when the most impoverished cannot obtain anything to eat. While the middle class may experience temporarily lowered food prices—due to a short-term drop in demand—this will cascade into serious supply chain disruptions that foretell certain disaster.

      • FYI some of the Dems want to void all of the $100 and $50 bills. The situation in India may, I repeat may be enough to stop them but given the arrogance of the left it may not be enough either.

I agree that it is a disaster their economy will tank and tank quickly, this will in turn take down most of the economies in the Orient. China is in bad shape and may not survive the crash or they may decide on “foreign adventures” to try and bring in new capital (loot the other nations) and stop the internal unrest caused by the crash.

  4. Urgent message for our French readers: re Primaries for the Right tomorrow, Sunday, 2nd Tour.

    If you can please:
    1. go and vote
    2. vote for François Fillon
Strong rumour has it that the Tards and the Left are combining to vote for the closet islamist, Alain Juppé, who would be worse for France and Europe than even the Left, because he comes disguised as a “conservative”. He is the one who obtained the French Legion of Honour for a nasty piece of powerful Imam, a King of Taqijja, who behind the scenes celebrates with his accolytes when Arab Muslims blow up a bus with Jewish shool children. Here is the link to one video by a Muslim who has authentic inside information. There are 7 of those (I will try to sub-title them later). But those of you who can go voting tomorrow will understand the French anyway. I can post here, at this hour only 1 link – but you will find the others on the same chanel:

  5. WOW it seems to work. Sorry Vlad – to post all those in French, but it’s urgent, in case some French voters can still see those, or people who have friens in France can sound the alert.

  6. UK: Two Systems of Justice

    by Douglas Murray

    https://www.gatestoneinstitute.org/8893/uk-justice

So farewell, then, Anjem Choudary. For two and half years at least. On September 6, the radical cleric was sentenced by a British judge to five and a half years in prison for encouraging people to join the Islamic State. If he behaves himself in prison he could be out in half that time, although whenever he emerges, it is unlikely that it will be as a reformed character. But the law has taken its course and in a rule-bound society has responded in the way that a rule-bound society ought to behave — by the following due process. So it is useful to compare the experience of Anjem Choudary and the way in which the state has responded to him with the way in which it has responded to another person.

It is now seven years ago that a young British man from Luton going by the name of Tommy Robinson formed the English Defence League (EDL). He did so after he and other residents of the town of Luton were appalled by a group of radical Muslims who protested a home-coming parade for British troops. There is some interesting symmetry here in that the Islamists present in Luton that day were members of Anjem Choudary’s group, al-Muhajiroun. Robinson and other residents of Luton were not only taken aback by the behaviour of the radicals but by the behaviour of the police who protected the radicals from the increasingly angry local residents.

Whatever its legitimate grievances when it began, the EDL did undoubtedly cause trouble. Protests often descended into thuggery, partly because of some bad people attracted to it and partly because “anti-fascist” counter-demonstrators often ensured that EDL protests became violent by starting fights with them. But through most of the time that Robinson led the EDL, there did appear to be — confirmed by third-party observers including independent journalists — a sincere and concerted effort to keep genuinely problematic elements out of the organisation. To those who said that Robinson and his friends had no right to organise protests, there are two responses. The first is that they had as much right to be there as anyone else. And second, that the problems they were objecting to (hate-preachers, grooming-gangs and so on) are real issues, which the state has increasingly realised are such in the years that followed.

    • They had best isolate Choudary’s worthless @ss from the general population so he cannot continue recruiting other inmates. This scumbag and a shiv would make a good pairing.

  7. Shock Report: Clintons Attempting to Steal Election

    Jim Hoft Nov 25th, 2016 6:35 pm 902 Comments

As reported earlier today, corrupt Hillary Clinton is not accepting her defeat in the recent Presidential election. Instead, in ways only the corrupt Clinton’s could conjure up, she has put in place a process to steal the election.

Jill Stein’s election recount is being paid for by a bot!

  8. Clinton campaign counsel: We’ll participate in recount

An attorney for Hillary Clinton’s campaign says it will participate in the Wisconsin recount initiated by Green Party presidneetial nominee Jill Stein.

Marc Elias, the campaign’s general counsel, wrote in a post on Medium on Saturday that the Clinton team has been conducting an extensive review of election results, searching for any signs that the voting process had been tampered with.

He emphasized that analysts employed by the campaign have largely found no evidence to conclude that the election was sabotaged, but said that the campaign is committed to helping ensure a fair recount process.

“The campaign is grateful to all those who have expended time and effort to investigate various claims of abnormalities and irregularities,” Elias wrote.

“While that effort has not, in our view, resulted in evidence of manipulation of results, now that a recount is underway, we believe we have an obligation to the more than 64 million Americans who cast ballots for Hillary Clinton to participate in ongoing proceedings to ensure that an accurate vote count will be reported.”

Stein filed for a recount in Wisconsin on Friday afternoon, and has pledged to do the same in Pennsylvania and Michigan — states in which President-elect Donald Trump won or is leading by narrow margins.

Elias said the campaign would join in on recount process in those states if Stein follows through on her promise, though he noted that the margins in the three Midwestern states are larger than any that has been reversed by a recount.

“But regardless of the potential to change the outcome in any of the states, we feel it is important, on principle, to ensure our campaign is legally represented in any court proceedings and represented on the ground in order to monitor the recount process itself,” Elias wrote.

New York Magazine reported that a group of activists and computer scientists had implored the Clinton campaign in a conference call last week to call for recounts in the three states.

Elias wrote in his post that a number of similar calls had taken place, though most experts that were consulted by the campaign found no abnormalities in the election results.

The deadlines to file for recounts in Pennsylvania and Michigan are Monday and Wednesday, respectively.

    • The money is coming from either the Clinton Foundation or George Soros in a last ditch effort to get Hillary crowned Queen. PET needs to send good honest smart people to be the observers/counters in the recounts otherwise it will end up like the 2000 election with the hanging chads.

Of course no matter how the recount turns out the Dems will scream that it was crooked and that PET stole the election.

      • I’m sorry our PET has to be distracted right now. He’s got important things to do. Like pulling together the best team.
And continuing to encourage our friends abroad. King Abdullah of Jordan and Pres. Sisi of Egypt are thrilled. Besides Mr. Orban and Pres. Zeman, et al. in Europe.

        • I doubt if they think they can change the results of the election but they can distract PET and cast more doubts about his legitimacy. It will also give some not much but some legitimacy to the protesters/rioters which will give the LSM a reason to talk nice about the protesters/rioters.

I will do a recount in any state where the deadline has not passed. Help my staff find state deadlines

====> will you demand recounts in states where Hillary won with a small margin or only ones where Trump won?

====> Exactly. Recount in Nevada & Minnesota where Clinton won by thinner numbers than Trump won any of the others.

      • It also lets Stein get rich from the money not used to recount besides giving some cover to the protesters/rioters and throwing mud at PET.

  9. the guardian –Doctors see a new condition among immigrant children: fear of Trump

Pediatricians serving undocumented immigrants report <stronga spike in anxiety and panic attacks after the US election, as children live with threat of deportation

At doctors’ offices across the United States, a new diagnosis has been popping up in the medical files of immigrant children, their friends and their families: fear of Trump.

Since the 8 November election, pediatricians and clinics serving undocumented immigrants and other low-income patients have reported a spike in anxiety and panic attacks, particularly among children who worry that they or their parents might now face deportation.

One little boy in North Carolina has been suffering crippling stomach aches in class because he’s afraid he might return home to find his parents gone. In California, many families are reporting that their children are leaving school in tears because their classmates have told them they are going to be thrown out of the country.

Children are showing up in emergency rooms alone because their parents are afraid of being picked up by Immigration and Customs Enforcement if they show their faces. Even American-born children are suffering – one boy in the south-east asked a doctor for Prozac because he was worried about his undocumented friend.

“It’s as though a volcano erupted. It’s been awful,” said Mimi Lind, director of behavioral health at the Venice Family Clinic, one of the largest providers of healthcare to low-income families in southern California. “People who don’t have a history of anxiety and depression are coming forward with symptoms they’ve never had before. And people who had those symptoms already are getting much worse.”

It’s too soon to put precise figures on the wave of Trump-related anxiety, but health professionals and immigrant rights groups say it is unmistakable. “People worry their families will be broken up, that parents will be deported and children will end up in foster care, on a scale that we’ve never seen before. The feeling out there is one of great fear,” said Marielena Hincapié of the National Immigration Law Center.

Some of the Trump-related anxiety was evident even before the election, especially in states where Republican-dominated legislatures have pushed through measures to make it harder for immigrants to access education, healthcare and other basic services. Trump’s election, however, turned the abiding worry into a full-blown crisis – not least because his victory was unexpected.

Julie Linton, a pediatrician from Winston-Salem, North Carolina, who also serves on the American Academy of Pediatrics’ immigrant child health special interest group, started receiving panicked calls from patients at 6.30am on the morning of 9 November, and she has been deluged since.

Many undocumented parents with sick children born in the United States are now making contingency plans in case they are deported, she says, and in so doing have to face an agonizing choice: whether to leave their children behind, or to risk losing access to the care they need in their home countries. She sees Syrian refugees as well as patients from Mexico and Central America, where it may be difficult or impossible, for example, to find devices to enable children with neuromuscular disorders to walk.

“Parents are asking me: ‘What do I do? How do I set up a power of attorney in case I’m deported?’” Linton said. “It’s hard enough to care for a child with special healthcare needs without having to worry about the threat of deportation.”

It is not just families and children that have felt the impact. Many patients who are vulnerable anyway – alcoholics, drug addicts, those with degenerative diseases or mental health struggles – have been knocked backwards . “To them, it feels that another part of their power has been taken away when they’ve just started to build themselves up again,” said Eileen Garcia, a therapist who looks after HIV and Aids patients at the Venice Family Clinic.

One of her patients, a middle-aged undocumented immigrant who wanted to be called Maria (not her real name), said that while she had been shocked when she received her initial HIV diagnosis she took it in stride because she knew help was available. “But this,” she said, “feels like a death sentence.”

As Maria sees it, she may lose access to treatment if the Trump administration scraps President Obama’s Affordable Care Act, and she may lose it, too, if she is deported and cannot find similar services back in her home country (which she did not want to name). “It’s a double worry,” she said.

The fear felt by many patients is reflected in the protective instincts of their caregivers. For this story, doctors and therapists were extremely careful not to give away patients’ names, or more than the most basic details of their medical profiles, or even in some cases the state where they live for fear of providing clues to authorities pursing an anti-immigrant crackdown.

They also struggle to know what to say to address their patients’ concerns, especially at this early stage.

“Many of us feel pretty helpless right now,” Linton, the North Carolina pediatrician, agreed. “We try to remain nonpartisan but we’re unabashedly pro-child and that’s a hard place to sit right now. For me, as a pediatrician and as a mom, it’s heart-breaking to think that a child is worth less based on conversations happening at the local, regional or national level.”

“This waiting time is the most anxiety-provoking,” Lind, the behavioral health specialist said. “No one can say anything. We have no way of allaying people’s anxiety with concrete facts.”

    • This is such a steaming heap of total manure. Whatever “panic attacks” that may be happening amongst illegal aliens and their spawn are the result of willful ignorance. As in THEM willfully ignoring American law while illegally entering this country then setting about breeding up children despite having no basis for a stable life.

Blaming this on Trump is an exercise in unwarranted, misplaced psychological projection that has come to epitomize the Left and Liberals in general. How about people taking personal responsibility for voluntarily breaking the law and exposing themselves (and their offspring) to the consequences of their own crappy decisions? Can’t have that now, can we?

      • US law is the result of constitutionally sanctioned statutes by duly elected representatives that the people voted for. So when the “Treason Lobby” trots out their standard sob stories of the woe-is-me-the-illegal-alien, what they are really saying is that the policies that were created by the democratic principles of the American Republic are inferior to the wants and needs of foreigners i.e. Treason over Patriotism is the order of the day.

They were demanding that Austria should open its borders to all refugees, saying the people seeking asylum have a right to make a request and a right to stay.

  12. 3 California mosques threatened in letter praising Trump

Local Islamic leaders are asking for increased police protection after at least three California mosques received a letter that threatens Muslims and praises President-Elect Donald Trump.

Over the past several days, Islamic centers in Long Beach, Claremont and San Jose all received the same photocopy of a handwritten letter addressed to “the Children of Satan.” The letter calls Muslims “vile,” “filthy” and “evil.” It then states that Trump – who, during his campaign, proposed making Muslims register and blocking people of faith from entering the country – is going to “cleanse America.”

“He’s going to do to you Muslims what Hitler did to the Jews,” the letter reads. “You Muslims would be wise to pack your bags and get out of Dodge.”

The letter is signed “Americans for a Better Way.”

It’s the latest in a series of incidents targeting Muslims and other minority groups since the Nov. 8 election.

More than 100 anti-Muslim incidents have occurred across the country over the past few weeks, according to the Council on American-Islamic Relations, or CAIR, which is a Washington, D.C.-based civil rights organization. And FBI statistics show a 67 percent jump in incidents against Muslims in 2015.

“This hate campaign targeting California houses of worship must be investigated as an act of religious intimidation, and our state’s leaders should speak out against the growing anti-Muslim bigotry that leads to such incidents,” said Hussam Ayloush, executive director of CAIR’s greater Los Angeles area chapter.

The organization called for stepped-up police presence around mosques. It also urged American Muslims and Islamic institutions to take extra security precautions and report any incidents.

  13. MOROCCO – “2M” Broadcasts Women’s Makeup Tutorial on How to Hide Traces of Domestic Violence

Casablanca – And the Internet went crazy.

2M, Morocco’s national television service, broadcasted a makeup tutorial on Wednesday, November 23 as part of its morning show called “Sabahiyates.” But it was no regular makeup tutorial.

In anticipation of the UN’s International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, celebrated each year on November 25, the show thought it would broadcasta tutorial teaching female viewers how to hide traces of violence.

But it was only when the segment was posted online that social media users called out the inappropriate nature of the segment.

After the video caused a lot of controversy online, the video was removed from the 2M site on Friday, November 25.

Later on Friday afternoon, 2M released a communiqué on its Facebook page addressing the issue.

“Management believes that this segment is completely inappropriate and displays a lack of editorial understanding due to the sensitivity and seriousness of the subject of violence against women,” says the statement.

“This approach,” adds 2M, “is in total contradiction with the editorial identity of the channel and […] the commitment of 2M for 27 years in favor of the defense of women’s rights.”

Meanwhile, Lilia Mouline, the makeup expert who hosted the “Sabahiyates” show in question, has since told Yabiladi that “in no way are we endorsing [domestic violence].”

“We are here to provide solutions to these women who, for a period of 2 to 3 weeks, are putting their social life aside while their wounds heal. These women have already been subjected to moral humiliation and do not need to also have others looking at them,” Mouline adds.

“Makeup,” says Mouline, “allows women to continue to live normally while waiting for justice.”

Violence against women is still a big problem in Morocco. In fact, a 2015 study has revealed that around 62.8% of Moroccan women have been the victim of gender violence.

“Unidentified hooligans made their way into a mosque in Stockholm, Sweden on Saturday morning, throwing fire crackers and painting swastikas and anti-Muslim slogans on the walls.

The incident occurred shortly after morning prayers in a mosque in the Bredäng district of Stockholm.

“One or more” perpetrators painted a swastika and wrote “kill Muslims” on the walls before fleeing the scene, SVT reported…”

  15. ‘Ten times’ more effective than nukes: Iran weighs creation of naval bases in Syria, Yemen (RT, Nov 26, 2016)
    https://www.rt.com/news/368306-iran-bases-syria-yemen/

“Iran is considering having naval bases on the coasts of Yemen and Syria, the Iranian chief of the general staff told a gathering of senior navy commanders, adding that the measure would have a great deterrent effect.

“One day, we may need bases on the coasts of Yemen and Syria, and we need the necessary infrastructures for it under the international maritime law,” Major General Mohammad Hossein Baqeri said, as cited by the Iranian Tasnim news agency…”

      • Iran and Turkey are jockeying for position as head of a new Middle Eastern Caliphate. Erdo?an’s recent coup purge is part of him consolidating his personal power. His naked attempted to blackmail Turkey’s way into the EU (via the manufactured “immigrant crisis), is but one more example of this strategy in action.

Iran’s pursuit of nuclear weapons, along with its constant meddling in Israel, Syria, Lebanon, and Yemen are, similarly, its own attempts to position itself as an emerging Islamic superpower. The Yemenese bases are just part of projecting power into the Arabian Peninsula. This is just one more reason to be thankful that Hillary did not win the Presidency. Her lax attitude with respect to Iran would have emboldened them to an even greater extent.

Both Turkey and Iran each need a major pimp-slap. With Turkey, assisting the Kurds in establishing a homeland would certainly be one method of doing this. For Iran, another round of Stuxnet viruses and crushing embargoes will be some of the few ways of taking the snap out of their sails.

  16. Dutch and Belgian special forces to assist anti-ISIS troops in Iraq (aranews, Nov 26, 2016)
    http://aranews.net/2016/11/dutch-belgian-special-forces-assist-anti-isis-troops-iraq/

“The Netherlands and Belgium will use special forces to advice and assist the Iraqi and Kurdish Peshmerga forces in the fight against ISIS in Mosul, the Dutch government said on Saturday. The operations are expected to cost an additional €5 million.

The teams will assist and coordinate with operational planning, leadership, fire power and experiences, according to the Dutch government.

The Dutch and Belgian special forces, however, will not participate in combat actions.

Currently, six coalition countries support the Iraqi and Kurdish forces with Advice and Assist teams, including Canada, Finland, Italy, the United Kingdom and the United States.

The Dutch Special Forces Operation teams that are in Iraq will back the anti-ISIS forces and will provide sniper training to the Iraqi army.

Furthermore, the Dutch and Belgian governments will expand the intelligence capacity and will appoint an intelligence official for joint planning and liaison…”

  17. Swiss probe top Muslim leader over jihadi propaganda (thelocal, Nov 26, 2016)
    http://www.thelocal.ch/20161126/swiss-prosecutor-widens-jihadi-probe-to-take-in

“Swiss federal prosecutors on Saturday expanded a criminal probe into jihadist propaganda to take in the leader of the country’s largest Islamic organisation.

The office of Switzerland’s attorney general confirmed in an email to AFP that Nicolas Blancho, of the Islamic Central Council of Switzerland (ICCS), was under investigation.

The ICCS slammed the move as “political” and said it was ready to “counter the accusations in a courtroom.”

Prosecutors opened the case last December, charging that an ICCS board member — German national Naim Cherni — had violated “the prohibition of groups like Al-Qaeda, Islamic State and similar organisations.”

He was suspected of creating “for propaganda purposes” a video from a trip into parts of war-ravaged Syria, “without having explicitly distanced himself from Al-Qaeda activities” in the country, last year’s statement said.

On Saturday, the attorney general’s office said its probe “has been expanded to the president of the ICCS and to one other ICCS committee member,” who was identified by the organisation as its spokesman, Qaasim Illi.

In an interview with the NZZ daily on Friday, Attorney General Michael Lauber said the case was “of high priority, because we want to know how far freedom of expression goes when it comes to criminal propaganda for a terrorist organisation.”

Cherni’s video included an interview with a senior member of the jihad umbrella organisation Jaysh al-Fath (“Army of Conquest”), which counts as a member the Al-Qaeda-linked Nusra Front, which has renamed itself Fatah al-Sham.

He insisted the film was a documentary and was not meant as propaganda.

The ICCS has continued to promote the film, which remains accessible on YouTube. It has been viewed more than 100,000 times over the past year.

Lauber told NZZ he hoped the case would go before Switzerland’s federal criminal court next year.

ICCS chief Blancho said in a statement on the organisation’s website he would welcome his day in court to defend Muslims against “political bullying”.”

“(ANSA) – Catania, November 25 – Sicilian prosecutors have wrapped up their probe into
irregularities on a 100-million-euro contract for the migrant reception centre (CARA) at Mineo near Catania and are set to charge several people, judicial sources said Friday.

The case if one of many stemming from the sprawling Capital Mafia case in which a group of criminals, businessmen and politicians muscled in on Rome city contracts.

Among those set to be charged is Farm Undersecretary Giuseppe Castiglione, a leading member of the small New Centre Right (NCD) party in Sicily.

“After 18 months under investigation I’ll now be able to explain everything,” he said.”

  19. Egypt parliamentary delegation to visit London Sunday to warn against ‘political Islam’ (ahram, Nov 26, 2016)
    http://english.ahram.org.eg/NewsContent/1/64/250807/Egypt/Politics-/Egypt-parliamentary-delegation-to-visit-London-Sun.aspx

“An Egyptian delegation including 12 MPs affiliated with parliament’s foreign affairs committee will visit London Sunday to exchange views with British politicians and MPs on political Islam, the Muslim Brotherhood and relations between Egypt and England.

Dahlia Youssef, head of the Egyptian-British Parliamentary Friendship Association, said in a statement Saturday that the five-day visit to London will begin on Sunday and end Thursday.

“This visit comes upon an invitation from the British House of Commons, whose two delegations visited Cairo and Sharm El-Sheikh over the last three months,” said Youssef.

Youssef also indicated that “the UK House of Commons’ release of a report which defends political Islam and the Muslim Brotherhood on 7 November also makes the Egyptian parliamentary delegation’s visit to London highly necessary and urgent.”

The Egyptian parliament’s foreign affairs committee issued a 10-page report on 19 November in response to the UK parliament’s “defence of political Islam.”

Informed sources said Egypt’s report entitled “A response to the UK House of Commons Foreign Affairs Committee’s report in defence of political Islam and the Muslim Brotherhood” was translated into several European languages.

“We intend to submit this report which rings alarm bells about the danger of the spread of political Islam movements like the Muslim Brotherhood across Western Europe to the European Parliament, the Inter-parliamentary Union, the UK House of Commons, the German Bundestag, and the French National Assembly,” said Youssef.

Youssef said “it is important that European politicians and MPs take a different perspective from a country which has suffered so much from political Islam and its affiliated groups – particularly the Muslim Brotherhood.”

She added that “most European politicians and MPs take their information about political Islam from the Western media and American think tanks, which always like to describe political Islam movements as victims of Arab dictatorships and that if the Arab governments are democratic and political Islam movements are integrated into their political process, everything will be OK and political Islam will be a democratic power.”

“The Egyptian parliament’s report aims to expose this big lie about political Islam in terms of showing that the ideology of political Islam makes it immune to any political democratic integration and this was made clear by the experiences of political Islam in recent years in countries like Egypt, Tunisia and Turkey,” said Youssef.

The report – which accuses the UK House of Commons of doing its best to exonerate the Muslim Brotherhood and its affiliated terrorist and militant groups of the charge of terrorism – also warns that “political Islam movements claim victimhood and repression as a cover to spread in Western Europe.”

“This is another big lie, but the problem is that some liberal politicians and MP in Western Europe give an ear to these false claims and thus give a cover to this malignant tumour to spread in Europe and America like cancer,” said the report, which describes political Islam movements as “foxes in disguise.”

Youssef said the Egyptian parliament is ready to provide UK politicians and MPs with all the documents necessary to prove the dangers of the ideology of political Islam, which is based on “Islamicising the entire world” either by militant jihad or by spreading a strict code of Islam across the world.

“If they are really keen to know what political Islam is, they must show interest and learn lessons from the country which has suffered so much from this malignant tumour,” said Youssef.

Youssef said the visit will also include meetings with a number of British think tanks, members of the media covering tourism issues, and Egyptian expatriates in England.

Youssef said the meetings in London could also comprise topics like the importance of the British government lifting the embargo on direct British flights to the Red Sea resort of Sharm El-Sheikh as well as economic conditions in Egypt.

The Egyptian parliament’s foreign affairs committee began a visit to Germany last Monday which included meetings with the head of the German Bundestag foreign affairs committee Norbert Rutgen, representatives from the ruling coalition in Germany, and leftist MPs.

“The delegation also held meetings with officials from the German foreign ministry and Chancellor Angela Merkel’s deputy national security advisor.””

  20. German court cites Turkey’s support for terrorism in Kurdish militant case (DW, Nov 26, 2016)
    http://www.dw.com/en/german-court-cites-turkeys-support-for-terrorism-in-kurdish-militant-case/a-36532293

“A German court has taken into account Turkey’s persecution of Kurds and support for the so-called ‘Islamic State’ (IS) and al-Qaeda in a case against a PKK member. The court opinion is sure to rile Turkey.

A German court on Friday issued a suspended sentence to a member of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK), citing in the decision to grant a mild punishment (because of?) Turkey’s persecution of Kurds and support for terror groups in Syria and Iraq, “Die Welt” newspaper reported.

The court ruling is likely to further strain ties between Germany and Turkey at a time when Ankara has accused Berlin of not clamping down on the PKK and of being a center of terrorism in Europe. The court’s ruling also comes amid a broader crackdown in Turkey that has drawn sharp criticism in the EU.

The Hamburg court gave the 60-year-old man a one year and nine month suspended sentence for being a member of a foreign terrorist organization and heading PKK activities in the northern city of Bremen. His arrest warrant was also lifted.

The verdict led to some 70 PKK supporters in the room erupting in applause as it became clear the man would be set free…”

  21. France – Zuydcoote – attempted arson attack of a church

VIDEO.

  24. Erdo?an, Putin discuss Syria over phone second time in two days

President Recep Tayyip erdo?an and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin discussed Syria on Saturday for a second time in two days, the Kremlin said.

Putin and Erdo?an spoke by telephone and “continued their exchange of opinions concerning the situation in Syria”, the Russian presidency said in a brief statement.

The pair also spoke by phone on Friday “at Turkey’s initiative”, in a conversation that covered bilateral ties as well as a “resolution to the Syrian conflict”, notably the possibility of “coordinated efforts in the fight against terrorism”.

Turkish officials said the death of four Turkish soldiers in Syria on Thursday in a strike, which was believed to have been carried out by the regime had been raised in Friday’s talks.

  25. EU should not ‘harp on’ at Turkey about human rights, says Jean-Claude Juncker
Attacking Turkey’s crackdown on press freedom will not help solve migration crisis, says the European Commission president
Europe should not “harp on” at Turkey about its record on human rights, the European Commission president has said, as he admitted the EU was dependent on the state for solving refugee flows.

Jean Claude-Juncker told the European parliament on Tuesday that Turkey was needed to solve the migration crisis, despite admitting its shortcomings on human rights and press freedom.

“We face two possibilities and these are the options. We can say that EU and the European institutions have outstanding issues with Turkey on human rights, press freedoms and so on.
“We can harp on about that but where is that going to take us in our discussions with Turkey?”

He added: “We know that there are shortcomings but we need to involve Turkey in our initiatives. We want to ensure that no more refugees come from Turkey into the European Union.”

Mr Juncker urged member states to provide more funding for Turkey to tackle the worst refugee crisis since the Second World War.

“Turkey needs at least €3 billion (£2.2 billion) in order to try to combat this crisis and we have some €200 million in our budget,” he said.

“Member states are going to have to step up to the plate and provide considerably more funding – a large percentage at the very least of the €203 million shortfall to which I alluded earlier, which we absolutely need imminently.”

He also said the EU must speak to Turkey about visa liberalisation and accession into the union.

His comments on the first day of plenary, the monthly gathering of the European Parliament in Strasbourg, came less than a week before a critical election in Turkey – the second in six months.

On Monday, the government seized the Koza Ipek media group, which a press freedom watchdog described as “alarming”.

It was the latest in the government’s crackdown on organisations linked to Islamic preacher, Fethullah Gulen, a former ally, now foe, of Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Turkish president.

The media group, which owns newspapers such as Bugun and Millet and television channels such as Kanalturk, was described as another attack on critical media by the International Press Institute (IPI).

“This move is alarming, particularly given its timing, and it appears to be another example of the pressure on media that IPI and other press freedom groups warned about during last week’s emergency press freedom mission to Turkey.

“Not only does silencing critical media on the eve of an election send a chilling message to journalists, it suggests a distrust of voters’ ability to filter information and make their own decisions,” the watchdog said in a statement to English-language Turkish newspaper, Today’s Zaman.

On Tuesday, police forcefully entered Koza Ipek’s headquarters in Ankara and protesters were tear gassed outside the building, Bloomberg reported.

When asked about the seizure later in the day, Alexander Winterstein, deputy chief spokesman for Mr Juncker, said: “We do not comment on these internal developments.”

    • So Junker says that it is not OK “to harp on” at Turkey about its record on human rights, but it seems OK to harp on Hungary and on Poland. And it is OK to “harp on” PET**

** PET I really like this acronym. 😉

      • I’m afraid as a middle aged Canadian I do not.

It is how the CBC used to affectionately refer to the current idiot in chief’s father when he was the spoiler of Canada, Pierre Elliot Trudeau.

In those days having three names was not an automatic membership in the club of villainy.

        • I’m sorry for the unfortunate connotation. It’s meant as a term of endearment. I saw it used for the first time at the Conservative Treehouse. An excellent site for those drawn to “fake news”.
