  1. Trump Scores With Vets, Calls for Sequester End, Military Revival
    September 7, 2016

    Good.

These military cuts, despite the efforts to pretend otherwise, had quite a bit to do with Republicans doing the bidding of some libertarian bigwigs looking to get their agenda in through a backdoor. Also see, Deal, Iran. Confronting the sequester head on is the right thing to do.

In a preview, the Trump campaign said the New York billionaire would call on Congress to do away with the “sequester” budget cuts to defense, and request that military generals provide him with a plan for defeating the Islamic State terror group during his first 30 days in office.

Mr. Trump’s plan calls for the number of active Army members to climb to 540,000, the number of Navy ships and submarines to climb to 350, and the number of Air Force fighter aircraft to climb to 1,200.

Those numbers rely on recommendations by the Army chief of staff, the Heritage Foundation and the National Defense Panel, the campaign said.

Meanwhile the Clinton campaign is really relying hard on the LBJ playbook.

  2. UK To Build A Wall To Keep Out Calais Migrants

Just two months after voting to leave the European Union (EU), the UK has announced the construction of a “great wall” near its most porous border in Calais, to keep illegal migrants out.

The UK’s southern border checks are conducted in northern France and attempted illegal crossings have more than quadrupled in recent years. UK Border Force guards on French soil stopped 84,088 illegal immigrants last year, figures released last month show.

The new 13-foot (4 metre) high wall will be built of smooth concrete, making it hard to climb, and will line the roads into the port town of Calais where the entrance to the channel tunnel also sits.

  3. Hillary Clinton Refuses Mexican President’s Invitation

Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto extended invitations to both major party presidential candidates Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump, but where Trump took the meeting, Clinton is now refusing to accept the neighboring president’s invitation.

“No” said former Secretary of State Clinton, she will not accept Peña Nieto’s invitation to meet before November’s presidential election. Clinton made the statement during an interview with ABC’s David Muir as she attempted to devalue Trump’s meeting with Mexico’s President. She called the trip “unfortunate.”

Republican nominee Donald Trump met with Peña Nieto just last week. Following their meeting the two held a joint press conference where the two recounted and answered questions about their meeting. The two expressed agreement over a country’s right to protect its own borders. Trump has made a repeated pledge to secure the United States’ southern border with Mexico.

  4. Observer: Sidney Blumenthal ‘Was Reading Above-Top-Secret NSA Reports Hours After They Appeared’

Former NSA officer John Schindler reports on a devastating fact NOT mentioned in the FBI’s investigation of Hillary Clinton conducting State Department business on an unsecure homebrew email server.

    From the Observer:

[Sidney] Blumenthal’s email read exactly like classified NSA reporting, as anybody acquainted with our SIGINT would immediately recognize. As one veteran agency official told me back in January, Blumenthal’s email was NSA information with “at least 90 percent confidence.”

  5. EXCLUSIVE–Hillary Clinton Campaign to Breitbart Reporter Asking Health Question: ‘Get a Life’

  6. UK: Protests at French embassy decry destruction of Calais refugee camp

Scores of demonstrators rallied outside the French Embassy in London, Wednesday, to protest against the destruction of the Calais refugee camp and against plans to build a wall on the UK-French border at Calais.

Protesters chanted slogans including “Teresa May, hear us say, Let them in and let them stay,” and held banners calling for solidarity. A concerned protester said “we shouldn’t support barbed wire, we shouldn’t support concentration camps. We should oppose this language, because that’s how it starts, it’s not how it ends.”

On September 2, French Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve announced his intention to completely dismantle the Calais refugee camp. The United Kingdom announced on Wednesday that it will start construction on a concrete wall in Calais, to prevent migrants and refugees from entering the country.

  7. N Y T – Nancy Pelosi Urges Paul Ryan to Ban Republicans From Using Hacked Documents

WASHINGTON — Nancy Pelosi, the House minority leader, sent a letter on Tuesday to Speaker Paul D. Ryan urging him to bar Republicans from using hacked documents in the campaign, arguing that “defending our democracy is more important than any advantage or disadvantage in this election.”

Ms. Pelosi, calling the hack into Democratic servers, apparently by Russians, “an unprecedented assault on the sanctity of our democratic process,” said Mr. Ryan should not condone either party using materials originating from the cybercrime.

“Democrats and Republicans must present a united front in the face of Russia’s attempts to tamper with the will of the American people,” Ms. Pelosi wrote.

Government officials have concluded that two Russian intelligence agencies, the F.S.B. and the G.R.U., are responsible for the hacking into the Democratic National Committee and the House Democratic campaign arm. Emails and other internal documents have been published by a hacker calling himself Guccifer 2.0, who is believed to be tied to the Russian intelligence agencies.

Mr. Ryan’s aides referred questions about Ms. Pelosi’s request to the House Republican campaign arm, the National Republican Congressional Committee. A spokeswoman for the committee did not rule out using hacked content, but disclaimed responsibility for the one instance it had happened thus far.

“Neither the N.R.C.C.’s chairman, Greg Walden, nor the speaker have control over what our independent expenditure unit does, which the D.C.C.C. chairman, Ben Ray Lujan, as well as Leader Pelosi are well aware of,” said the spokeswoman, Katie Martin, referring to the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee.

To date, the only hacked documents to surface have come from the internal servers of Democratic committees, an indication that only one of America’s two major political parties is being targeted. Already, the hacks revealed that the Democratic National Committee favored Hillary Clinton and discussed ways to undermine Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont in its presidential primary, disclosures that led to the resignation of the party chairwoman, Representative Debbie Wasserman Schultz.

While alarmed at what is being exposed, Democrats also sense an opportunity to use the cybercrime to link Republicans to President Vladimir V. Putin of Russia. It is a task that has been made easier by the Republican presidential nominee, Donald J. Trump, who has frequently praised Mr. Putin, called to improve relations with Moscow and urged Mr. Putin’s government to hack into Mrs. Clinton’s emails.

On Monday night, Mrs. Clinton told reporters that Russia’s intrusion represented “a threat from an adversarial foreign power,” and cited “credible reports about Russian interference in our elections.”

And last week, Harry Reid of Nevada, the Senate Democratic leader, went even further, sending a letter to the F.B.I. director, James B. Comey, urging him to investigate Russian interference that “may include the intent to falsify official election results.”

By asking Mr. Ryan to effectively declare hacked documents politically off limits, Ms. Pelosi is attempting to force him to choose between being seen as abetting the cybercrime of a hostile power and leaving potentially fruitful material unused. House Republicans have already seized on one of the hacked documents, releasing a digital ad last month that cited a House Democratic memo posted by Guccifer 2.0 that outlined the potential vulnerabilities of a Democratic candidate in Florida.

The posting of House Democratic documents relating to the Florida races was apparently meant to correspond to the state’s primaries last week. While no Republican leaders have pledged not to use hacked materials, Reince Priebus, the chairman of the Republican National Committee, recently said that the hack was “not right” and that he was “not on board with whatever they did to steal this information.”

For his part, Mr. Putin has denied that his government was responsible for the hacking but has made no effort to conceal his pleasure about the disclosures.

“Listen, does it even matter who hacked this data?” Mr. Putin said in a Bloomberg News interview last week. “The important thing is the content that was given to the public.”

  8. Mutiny! FBI turning on James Comey?

FBI Director James Comey is on a permanent hot seat after his agency’s decision to not prosecute presidential candidate Hillary Clinton over her mishandling of classified information while secretary of state.

Now Comey seems to be trying to quiet a rebellion within his own ranks.

Comey sent a memo to FBI employees yesterday attempting to explain why the FBI let Clinton walk, and why it published the notes from its investigation just before a long holiday weekend.

The highly unusual move seems to indicate that Comey felt he had some explaining to do, and that career FBI officials were baffled by some of his recent decisions.

In his memo, first reported by CNN, Comey tried to claim that the decision to not prosecute Clinton was not political, nor a close call. He also said the late-Friday document dump occurred because it was simply the first day the materials were available.

But don’t expect many members of the public — or even many reporters — to buy either explanation.

The memo comes after Comey reportedly received heat from former FBI agents who said the decision to recommend criminal charges against Clinton should have been a slam dunk. Politicians ranging from former Texas Governor Rick Perry to House Speaker Paul Ryan have openly questioned whether Comey was influenced by political pressure.

  9. Hillary’s Answer to Veteran on Her Handling of Classified Information Should End Her Run for Office [Video]

John Lester: As a Naval flight officer held the top secret sensitive compartmentalized information clearance. And that provided him access with materials and information highly sensitive to our war fighting capabilities.

He asked Secretary Clinton, “Had I communicated this information not following prescribed protocols, I would have been prosecuted and imprisoned,” said the veteran, who was identified by MSNBC as a Republican. “Secretary Clinton, how can you expect those such as myself who were and are trusted with America’s most sensitive information to have any confidence in your leadership as president when you clearly corrupted our national security?”

And her answer was even worse.

“Well I appreciate your concern and also your experience, but let me try to make the distinctions that I think are important for me to answer your question. First, as I said to Matt, you know and I know, classified material is designated. ……… And what we have here is the use of an unclassified system by hundreds of people in our government to send information that was not marked, there were no headers, there was no statement top secret, secret, or confidential.”

She continued, “I communicated about classified material on a wholly separate system. I took it very seriously.”

The stuttering and the stammering was all we needed to hear. This woman is a liar and totally unfit to be Commander in Chief of the United States of America.

  10. France: On Its Way to Being a Jew-Free Nation?

    by Robbie Travers
    September 8, 2016 at 4:00 am

During the past 15 years, it is estimated that tens of thousands of Jews have fled France.

Of these, approximately 40,000 have fled to Israel, according to Israeli figures. Many thousands of others have fled to Canada, the United Kingdom, and elsewhere. France is increasingly becoming a nation in which it is no longer safe to be openly Jewish.

To explain why so many Jews are leaving Europe, it helps to understand the increasingly toxic context developing in France for Jews.

Synagogues and Jewish schools across France are regularly guarded by police officers and soldiers. Jews in Europe see their holy sites and places of worship under threat.

In December 2015, 14 Jews were poisoned by a toxic substance which had been smeared on to the keypad to access a Paris synagogue. No one was killed by the poison, but “25 firemen rushed to the synagogue, where they treated congregants and traced their condition to the daubed lock.”

Another Paris synagogue was vandalized and a window smashed. Synagogues seem to be one of the targets in a new wave of anti-Semitism rising across France and Europe.

On the way to a synagogue, a 13-year-old boy was called a “dirty Jew” and then seriously assaulted. The attackers are said to have attacked the boy because of he wore a skullcap. Only 71 years after the end of one of the darkest periods of European history, after which we pledged “never again,” it seems to have become open season to hate and persecute Jews.

  11. The Invasion of Buffalo
    Destroying America city by city.

Millard Fillmore was born in a log cabin in upstate New York. Fifty years later, he took office as the thirteenth president of the United States. Around that time he sold off a piece of land. That land became the neighborhood of Lovejoy in the city of Buffalo.

Lovejoy was named after Sarah Lovejoy who had been killed defending her home during the War of 1812. British forces had assaulted American towns once again by using their Indian allies as a terror weapon. Buffalo, now a major city, was burned to the ground with only four buildings left standing.

Mrs. Lovejoy told her son Henry, a 12-year-old boy who shouldered a musket too heavy for him to bear, to flee into the woods. She stayed behind. When the savages invaded her home, she tried to defend herself. The invaders killed her with a tomahawk and scalped her body. A neighbor described how her “long Black hair reached to the Floor clotted with Blood.” Other families fled on sleds into the snow.

When the locals returned a few days later, the only living thing in Buffalo was a cat. There were no other survivors. Only corpses.

But within a week they began to rebuild. By the time Fillmore sold his land, it was a city of 40,000. By the time Lovejoy was a neighborhood, it had surpassed 100,000. German, Polish, Jewish and Italian immigrants quickly filled Lovejoy and clung to it with the same tenacity that Sarah had.

And then another savage invasion began.

In the past decade, Erie County “resettled” nearly 10,000 refugees. Most of them have been inflicted on Buffalo and Black Rock, the same targets as that original invasion two centuries ago that claimed Sarah’s life.

Buffalo has four resettlement agencies working to bring as many Muslims as they can. Among them is the International Institute of Buffalo which was set up after WWI to bring “war brides” to America, but which now specializes in bringing Muslims here instead. Tickets to the Institute’s big event, Buffalo Without Borders, run as high as $10,000 a piece, and it is billed as “A Party Only the IIB Can Throw.”

One of these parties featured chocolates “inspired” by Iraqi Muslim migrants.

In Lovejoy though the price ranges are a little different. Like Sarah Lovejoy, the residents of this area, once Polish and Italian, are under siege.

A few months after September 11, Frank Scalisi passed away at the age of 92. For 50 years, Frank and his wife Edith had run Rosati’s Supermarket. Frank had presided over the Buffalo Retail Food Dealers and served as deputy sheriff for the Marine Division of Eric County. He coached a softball team in the sixties that became known as “The Goosport Phenomenon”.

And then Rosati’s was no more and in its place was the IGA Community Express Mart run by the Alshami clan. The Alshamis were part of the flood of Yemeni Muslim migrants who had washed up in Buffalo.

And the Muslim Yemeni population has a way of making headlines.

  12. Jewish Democrats for Trump Begin Running Ads Warning About Hillary
    September 8, 2016
    Daniel Greenfield

Hillary Clinton has a new problem.

Jewish Democrats for Trump, a group with a self-explanatory name, is actively warning about the dangers of another anti-Israel politician in the White House.

The group offers punchy messages and though it appears to have no internet presence, it is active on the streets and in some New York Jewish media outlets. The emphasis of Jewish Democrats for Trump also appears to be fittingly on immigration and the danger posed to Jewish communities by Hillary Clinton’s obsession with importing huge numbers of anti-Semitic Muslims into the United States.

“We feel very strong about what’s happening in Europe now,” said Heshy Friedman, the Jewish activist behind the ad campaign. “They need 24/7 police outside synagogues. Why? Because they let all these refugees in.”

Above a photo of Trump raising his thumbs in the air, the ad declares: “We dare not be silent,” and states that “President Trump will stop the flow of thousands of dangerous terrorists coming to America.”

When asked about the view of many in the Jewish community that Trump’s comments about Muslims and immigrants are racist, Friedman told the Forward: “Racist? He’s a realist.”

The ad campaign was timed to reach out to Jewish voters, mainly Orthodox, before voting begins in states with big Jewish communities. The group handed out material in Florida but is focusing its work on New York and New Jersey. In the upcoming weeks they hope to have more of a presence on the Jewish scene. The group intends to buy ads in Yiddish language newspapers distributed in the Ultra-Orthodox community, urging readers to attend Trump rallies and campaign events in New York to show that he has support among Jewish voters. They are also printing thousands of Donald Trump stickers in Hebrew.

  13. Trump Endorsement by Generals Organized by Holocaust Survivor
    September 8, 2016
    Daniel Greenfield

This is an interesting angle on the story.

Maj. Gen. (ret.) Sidney Shachnow, who helped initiate the letter released this week by the Trump campaign from 88 military leaders endorsing the Republican nominee, says Trump “has the temperament to be commander-in-chief.”

Shachnow knows from temperament, although not perhaps of the Trumpian variety: As a child, he and his family survived the Holocaust in Lithuania by keeping their heads low and showing restraint. According to his autobiography, “Hope and Honor,” the same level-headedness guided him through the pains of assimilation as a young refugee living in Salem, Massachusetts, and then through a career in the military.

His stint, including a turn in the Green Berets in Viet Nam and as an officer in an undercover unit infiltrating East Germany (he still speaks English with a Baltic lilt, as heard in this 2012 appearance at the Kansas City Public Library), ended with his command of U.S. forces in Berlin when the Wall came down in 1989. Among the medals he has earned is the Bronze Star, the Silver Star and the Purple Heart.

Shachnow is also on the board of advisers of the Jewish Institute for National Security Affairs, and has appeared at a Jewish War Veterans event.

His childhood was about as shattering as it could have been.

  14. The American Military and the Specter of an Untrustworthy Commander-In-Chief
A track record of failure and fabrication puts military voters on edge.
    September 8, 2016

In August 1993, Hillary Clinton’s husband Bill dispatched a force of U.S. Army Rangers and Delta Force commandos to war-torn Somalia in an effort to seize the Somali warlord, Mohammed Farrah Aidid. Military commanders had assessed the need for armor and air cover to carry out the dangerous mission. They requested M-1 Abrams tanks, Bradley infantry fighting vehicles, as well as AC-130 gunships but the Clinton administration obscenely denied the request placing U.S. forces in a very vulnerable situation.

On October 3, a taskforce of lightly armed U.S. forces seized a good portion of Aidid’s political and military echelon in Mogadishu as they assembled for a meeting in the capital but the operation stirred a hornet’s nest and the troops began engaging Somali militiamen in urban combat. Two Black Hawk helicopters were subsequently shot down with rocket propelled grenades. The nature and dynamic of the mission rapidly changed from a lightening operation involving quick seizure and extraction to one of protracted urban combat pitting outnumbered and outgunned U.S. forces against thousands of Somali militiamen armed to the teeth with machine guns, RPGs, mortars and recoilless rifles.

Though the Rangers and Delta Force commandos ultimately prevailed, 18 soldiers were killed (some of the bodies were mutilated), 73 were wounded and a helicopter pilot was captured. Had the request for armor and air cover been granted, there is no question that the outcome of the Battle of Mogadishu would have been vastly different and U.S. casualties would have been minimal. Adding insult to injury, Aidid’s aides, captured at great cost and sacrifice, were quickly released on orders from the political echelon.

Hillary Clinton told the FBI that a blood clot in her brain made her forget crucial info and allowed her to work only a few hours a day. There are two things you are definitely, absolutely not allowed to talk about if you want your writing to be taken seriously. You should definitely, absolutely not say that Hillary violated criminal law and belongs in jail. After all, when has it been part of acceptable political discourse to call for the indictment of a major-party nominee for the presidency? The “lock her up” chant? That’s extremist and disturbing. And you should definitely, absolutely not question Hillary’s health. That’s what fringe, conspiracy theory wackos do. I mean, look at those rubes — examining coughing videos as if they’re the Zapruder film. Well, yesterday, for what felt like the hundredth time, I made the case that Hillary violated criminal law in her handling of national-defense information. Today, let’s talk about Hillary’s health. Specifically, let’s talk about how she made it an issue when she apparently used it as a convenient excuse for memory loss — as a shield against criminal liability.
