    • The left has created a lot of problems in my lifetime, htey have always blamed them on the conservatives.

  1. Argentinian pupils wearing Nazi armbands attack Jewish students in ‘Mengele village

Children from a German school in Buenos Aires wearing swastika armbands and fake Hitler moustaches attacked pupils from a Jewish school in a resort where several Nazi war criminals lived for decades after the Second World War, including Dr Josef Mengele, Auschwitz’s “Angel of Death”.

The incident drew swift condemnation for the pupils and the parents who were accompanying them during the school’s end-of-course trip to San Carlos de Bariloche, in the Andes.

The town became a haven for fleeing Nazis who were welcomed by the sympathetic Peronist regime.

According to witnesses, pupils from the Lanús German School arrived at a party in a nightclub dressed as Nazis.

“Some of them were in leathers with swastikas painted on their chests and backs,” Dan, one of the students who was attacked, told Argentina’s TN television channel.

“We wanted them to be thrown out of the club but they shouted ‘f—— Jews’ at us and proudly showed off their symbols.”

  2. Theresa May will trigger Brexit negotiations without Commons vote

Theresa May will not hold a parliamentary vote on Brexit before opening negotiations to formally trigger Britain’s withdrawal from the European Union, The Telegraph has learned.

Opponents of Brexit claim that because the EU referendum result is advisory it must be approved by a vote in the Commons before Article 50 – the formal mechanism to leave the EU – is triggered.

However, in a move which will cheer Eurosceptics, The Telegraph has learned that Mrs May will invoke Article 50 without a vote in Parliament

  3. Venezuela’s steep prices, scarcities open the way for cardboard coffins

VALENCIA, Venezuela (Reuters) – When Venezuelan entrepreneurs Alejandro Blanchard and Elio Angulo decided to create cardboard coffins, they were looking for an ecological selling point to compete against classic wood and brass caskets.

Three years on, with the oil-rich country mired in deep economic crisis, their “bio-coffins” are becoming a viable option because of high prices for wooden coffins and shortages of brass ones.

Blanchard and Angulo are offering their product in funeral homes in Venezuela, home to one of the world’s highest murder rates, and business is looking promising.

“Death impoverishes the masses … and the bio-coffin is a solution for this crisis Venezuela is suffering,” said Blanchard before presenting his goods in a funeral home in the central city of Valencia.

Biodegradable coffins are in vogue in Europe and the United States, but they are also finding a niche in Venezuela in the face of shortages, triple-digit annual inflation and a deep recession.

  4. Far-right anti-Islam activists protest atop Berlin monument

BERLIN (AP) — Anti-Islam activists have staged an hour-long demonstration atop Berlin’s Brandenburg Gate.

The protesters unfurled a banner Saturday calling for “secure borders” in Germany as crowds of tourists milled around the iconic monument.

Police said 15 people were briefly detained over the protest and are likely to face charges of trespassing, harassment and breaching laws on public assembly.

Berlin police spokeswoman Patricia Braemer said the protesters belonged to the Identitarian Movement. Germany’s domestic intelligence agency said this month it was putting the far-right group under observation because it aims to subvert democracy.

  5. French resorts defiant as top court suspends burkini ban

Marseille (France) (AFP) – French resorts were defiant after a ban on the burkini in a Riviera town was overturned, vowing to keep the restrictions in place and continue imposing fines on women who wear the full-body swimsuit.

In a judgement expected to lead to bans being overturned in around 30 coastal towns, the State Council, France’s highest administrative court, ruled Friday the measure was a “serious and clearly illegal violation of fundamental freedoms”.

The suspension of the ban on the Islamic swimsuit, which has triggered a fierce debate in France and sparked critical headlines around the world, was welcomed by the UN, and a French Muslim group said it was a “victory for common sense”.

But the ruling, which only applied to the ban imposed by Villeneuve-Loubet, was quickly dismissed by several other towns, including Nice, which vowed to keep the restrictions in place and continue imposing fines on women who wear the full-body swimsuit.

  6. Kurdish-aligned group in north Syria says targeted by Turkish warplanes

KARKAMIS, Turkey (Reuters) – A group allied to Kurdish-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) said it was bombarded by Turkish warplanes on Saturday, after Turkey’s military launched an incursion this week into northern Syria against both Islamic State and Kurdish forces.

Turkish military sources said planes had hit an ammunition store south of Jarablus, but they did not give details.

If the jets struck targets linked to the Kurdish-aligned group, it would signal Turkey’s action against Kurdish-backed forces in Syria was being ratcheted up a notch.

The Jarablus Military Council, a group that is part of the Kurdish-backed SDF, said the jets hit a village south of the strategic town of Jarablus, causing civilian casualties. It called the action “a dangerous escalation”.

A Reuters witness in Karkamis, a Turkish town on the other side of the border from Syria’s Jarablus, saw warplanes flying from Turkish air space early on Saturday into Syria and then heard several blasts. The identity of the planes was not clear.

Syrian rebels backed by Turkish special forces, tanks and warplanes entered Jarablus this week, seizing the frontier town that had been an Islamic State stronghold. The rebel force backed by Turkey were largely Arab and Turkmen.

    • This was always part of Erdogan’s plan, he wants to destroy the Kurdish independence movement while he is recreating the Ottoman Empire, Obama, Kerry and Biden have betrayed another US ally and destroyed the small amount of trust that people still had in the US protecting their friends..

      • Kurds are Muslims that currently lick our feet instead of being at our throats as Churchill might say. When they get a chance they will stab us in the back, Screw them.

        • Keep them making trouble for Iran, ISIS and Turkey but don’t let them get strong enough to threaten us.

      • There are two major factions among the Kurds: Islamists terrorists and communist terrorists. Being allies with either one is, shall we say, problematic.

        • Being allies with any Islamic group is problematic, like I said help them make trouble for Iran, ISIS and Turkey but keep them weak enough that they can’t hurt us.

    • Turkish Bombers Pound Kurdish Positions in Syria as Ankara Claims Fight against ISIL (farsnews, Aug 27, 2016)
      http://en.farsnews.com/newstext.aspx?nn=13950606001283

“Turkish warplanes conducted air strikes against the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in Northern Syria on Saturday, as Ankara claims that it has started its military operation, ‘Euphrates Shield’, to cleanse ISIL terrorists from its border with Syria.

Turkish fighter jets pounded civilian homes and positions of a group allied to the Syrian Democratic Forces in the village of al-Amarna, South of Jarabulus, in Aleppo province.

The Jarabulus Military Council group said in a statement that the attack caused civilian casualties, and called it “a dangerous escalation that threatens the fate of the region”.

The council asked Ankara to stop the attacks against the Kurdish forces, warning that “they know how to protect themeselves”.

The Turkish Army with the air support of the US-led coalition started a military operation on Wednesday to allegedly drive ISIL out of Jarabulus town. Turkish special forces entered Syrian territory as Ankara began cross-border “Euphrates Shield” military operation against the ISIL group early on Wednesday. The YPG Kurdish forces and the Free Syrian Army were both racing towards Jarabulus to take the city after ISIL started withdrawing from the Northern Aleppo city…”

  7. U.S. and Russia fail to close deal on ending violence in Syria

    August 27, 2016

By Lesley Wroughton and Stephanie Nebehay

GENEVA (Reuters) – The United States and Russia failed on Friday to reach a breakthrough deal on military cooperation and a nationwide cessation of hostilities in Syria, saying they still have issues to resolve before an agreement could be announced.

U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry and Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, addressing a joint news conference after more than nine hours of off-and-on talks in Geneva, said teams from both sides would try to finalize details in coming days in the Swiss city.

Kerry said the talks with Lavrov had “achieved clarity on the path forward” but together they offered few details on how they planned to renew a February cessation of hostilities and improve humanitarian assistance.

  8. Taliban capture eastern Afghan district after overrunning govt. forces (RT, Aug 27, 2016)
    https://www.rt.com/news/357386-taliban-afghanistan-attack-army/

“Taliban capture eastern Afghan district after overrunning govt. forces Hundreds of Taliban militants reportedly took control of a district in eastern Afghanistan after a gun battle with government troops that killed and injured scores of soldiers and police.

The governor of the Jani Khel district, which is situated south of the capital of Kabul and borders Pakistan, said that the government security forces had to pull out overnight due to heavy fighting.

“Our district was surrounded by Taliban for almost five days,” Abdul Rahman Solamal told Reuters, adding that “hundreds of them attacked our check posts overnight.

Officials say that reinforcements will be sent to help recapture the district, and Solamal says it is imperative to regain control of the area. A spokesman for the governor said that the security forces had to make a “tactical retreat to avoid civilian causalities.”

“If we do not retake it soon then Taliban can easily move from one province to another and can undermine security in at least three provinces,” he said.

Afghan broadcaster 1TV News says that at least five government soldiers were killed. However, citing Solamal, Reuters said that more than 20 soldiers and police were killed and another 20 were wounded.

The governor also claimed that some 200 Taliban fighters had been killed, but this figure has not been independently verified…”

  12. The edge of darkness

As election day approaches, I feel a dark premonition that we are about to lose our freedoms. The portents are all too clear. If Hillary Clinton takes the Oval Office, she will impose by executive order a list of so-called Progressive measures that will be worse than any of the many scandals by which her character has been revealed over the years. There is no lie she will not tell, no crime she will not commit, and no freedom she will not usurp.

Perhaps the most central of all our freedoms is the Second Amendment. It is the one that gives us actual physical power over a would-be tyranny. Without it, all the other freedoms become forfeit, as so many of them already have.

Progressives are all too aware of this fact. The power of the Second Amendment was dramatically demonstrated by armed citizens against armed federal officials, and the federal officials had to retreat. It happened in an incident known as the Cliven Bundy standoff in April and May of 2014. It was a wake-up call, as the government was officially put on notice that armed citizens will, when pushed too far, unite in large numbers to confront armed federal officers.

The issues today are far larger, and far more numerous, than cattle grazing rights, which sparked the Bundy standoff. They range from the Lois Lerner violation of citizen rights of political participation to the requirement of bakers and photographers to participate in same-sex wedding ceremonies to the federal demand that high school boys and girls share the same showers.

    • Here is something for everyone to think about:

If Britain allowed the private ownership of firearms would it be in as bad a shape as it currently is?

If the people had the means to resist armed force with armed force would hate speech laws be prosecuted in any European nation?

  13. Baltimore Votes To Keep Schools Open On Muslim Holidays

One board member argued for “equity” for Muslim students. From the report:

some school board members said they believed it was the right time to give equity to the Muslim community.

“It is time to do the right thing. Set aside your ambivalence. … Recognize the realities of Baltimore County, the nation and the world,” said school board member Michael Collins, in support of recognizing the holidays. “We will say something powerful and something correct. We will clearly do the right thing.”

Ultimately, however, the board voted in favor of keeping schools open despite Muslims’ complaints.

Over the past year, several Maryland counties have moved their teacher training day to coincide with the Muslim holidays to ensure that Muslim students were not required to be in class.

“A former Guantanamo prisoner now held by Venezuela’s intelligence agency has gone on hunger strike, his lawyer said Saturday.

Jihad Diyab, who was relocated from Guantanamo to Uruguay nearly two years ago, was detained after traveling to Caracas in July in an apparent attempt to see family, his California-based lawyer Jon Eisenberg told AFP.

In an email, Eisenberg said he was concerned about Diyab, a 45-year-old Syrian national, after failing to establish contact with him.

“We still have not had any communication with the Venezuelan authorities,” Eisenberg said. “I feared from the beginning that (the hunger strike) could take place, so I’m not surprised.”

Held in Guantanamo for 12 years without charge, Diyab was released from the US military prison in southern Cuba to Uruguay in 2014 along with five fellow former detainees.

On August 6, Diyab’s lawyer had asked the Venezuelan government for permission to speak with his client by telephone to organize his defense.

  18. DCLeaks Website Down, Twitter Suspended After Releasing Soros Docs

DCLeaks, a website that releases information on powerful political figures, has had its Twitter account suspended and part of its website taken offline after releasing a cache of documents on billionaire donor George Soros.

The website had previously released 2,500 internal Open Society Foundation (OSF) documents in order to “shed light on one of the most influential networks operating worldwide.” OSF is one of Soros’ networks of organizations.

The leaked documents had resulted in several damaging reports about the organization. OSF had previously confirmed that the documents were legitimate.

Before the website went offline, an OSF spokesperson had called the leaks “a symptom of an aggressive assault on civil society and human rights activists that is taking place globally” in a statement released to The Daily Caller.
By mid-Saturday afternoon, the DCLeaks page with the Soros documents was no longer online. The rest of the DCLeaks site was running smoothly — only the Soros pages appeared to be offline.

The DCLeaks Twitter account was suspended by Twitter around the same time with no explanation.

    http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/horrific-abuse-scandal-town-dubbed-8718139#rlabs=2%20rt$category%20p$1

“Police are under fire over a “ Rotherham style ” abuse scandal in a town dubbed the child sex capital of Britain.

Officers are accused of taking too long to probe allegations contained in files stretching to 150 pages.

It is claimed reports of grooming in Telford, Shrops, were logged incorrectly and not taken seriously enough despite an earlier probe that led to seven men being jailed in 2012.

Today, one victim who was hawked among paedophiles and forced to sleep with a string of men, said: “The police have betrayed the children of this town for a second time.

“I dread to think how many victims there have been over the years – it wouldn’t surprise me if the offending was on the same scale as Rotherham.”

She spoke after it emerged detailed reports had been handed to police by “street pastors” on night patrol.

They include eye-witness accounts of teenagers being sold drugs at underage discos and gangs of older men grooming drunk children.

The reports, compiled over three years, allege older men operate in gangs and circle disco venues, take-aways and kids’ haunts in cars, often approaching youngsters in the street.

Police admitted multiple incidents were markers of potential exploitation, but confessed the reporting system was initially flawed – stunting the gathering of intelligence.

Trained pastors – local church volunteers – began providing information in 2013 after Operation Chalice, which had probed earlier exploitation.

Leading calls for an independent inquiry, the abuse victim said: “I never want any other girl to go through what I did. We need a Rotherham-style inquiry in Telford.

“It has been going on for at least two decades. When will it stop?”…”
