  1. Merkel on the ropes: Thousands of German protesters take to the streets saying she ‘Must Go’ and a key coalition ally withdraws support to open-door immigration policy after terror attacks

Merkel’s premiership is hanging by a thread today as thousands gathered to call for her resignation while a key political ally dramatically withdrew his support over immigration policy.

More than 5,000 protested in Berlin and thousands more throughout Germany over the ‘open-door’ policy that many have blamed for four brutal terrorist attacks that left 13 dead over the last month.

The Chancellor faced a fresh wave of fury after it emerged that two recent terror attacks and a third killing were carried out by men who entered the country as refugees.

  2. ‘We won’t bury terrorists’ Normandy REFUSES to give Muslim burial to priest killers
THE shocked community reeling after two ISIS killers entered a church and killed an elderly priest in France are refusing to bury the pair following their wretched act.

Adel Kermiche and Abdelmalik Petitjean will not be given a Muslim burial by locals who say they do not want to “taint” Islam.

Both men who entered the Normandy church acted in accordance as they slit 84-year old priest Fr Jacques Hamel’s throat on the altar while he was conducting morning mass.

Now furious locals are turning their backs on the men.

    • Just let the bodies rot in a bed of pig lard. I remember when they IDed some of the 9/11 hijackers and they gave the parts a ‘proper Muslim burial’… WTF? It’s time to treat a religious enemy on the terms of their own basis; complete blasphemy for their beliefs.

      • The corpse of the Boston Marathon bomber had to be hauled to another state. That he was also a cop-killer – well, that would just desacrate a cemetery around here.
I wouldn’t bother with Tard-repellent trappings. Just incinerate garbage.

  3. Syria crime wave Hundreds of Syrians in UK arrested over string of offences including rape and child abuse

POLICE forces have released shocking figures for England and Wales

Our revelation comes after Northumbria Police were last month accused of a cover-up over an alleged attack by Syrians on two teenage girls in Newcastle.

One of the suspects was being followed by the BBC for a report on how his family had settled in the UK.

In Northumbria, the force admitted that last year – the latest available figures – they arrested a total of 16 Syrians.

This tally of arrests included two alleged sex offences, six claims of violence assaults and three of public disorder.

In London, 238 arrested included two for rape, three for death threats and seven for sex offences.

And Nottinghamshire cops nicked one for sexual activity with an underage girl.

  4. TURKEY’S BACKLASH: Christians pay price as extreme Islam surges after attempted coup

The attempted coup in Turkey sent shockwaves around the world. Here was a Nato ally, thrown into chaos overnight. MARCO GIANNANGELI in Istanbul uncovers how the power struggle has paved the way for a more extreme form of Islam to take hold.

Amid the cacophony of police sirens, low-flying helicopters and rifle fire, there was another sound during the attempt to overthrow president Recep Tayyip Erdogan: The wailing of Turkey’s imams.

From the nations’s 85,000 mosques, their amplified voices were heard calling upon the faithful to take to the streets and defy the plotters. The people listened.

Some bravely stood in front of tanks as they defended the democratically elected president. Around 240 from both sides died and 1,400 were injured.

  5. ‘One ISIS attack every 84 hours’ spurs dread and anger in Europe

(CNN)In the past week I have seen flowers and candles carpeting a street in Munich, the tranquility of a small Bavarian town shattered by a suicide bomb and a small church in suburban France sealed off after its octogenarian priest had his throat cut.
Before these horrific events, there was a knife-wielding teenager on a German train. And before that, much deadlier attacks in Nice, Brussels and last November, in Paris.

This year has seen an accelerating pattern of attacks linked to ISIS in Europe and beyond — from Turkey to Bangladesh, the United States to Indonesia. According to the group IntelCenter, which tracks acts of terrorism, there has been a significant attack directed or inspired by ISIS every 84 hours since June 8 in cities outside the war zones in Iraq, Syria, Sinai in Egypt and Libya. CNN’s own tracking of attacks supports that conclusion.

  6. As ‘caliphate’ shrinks, Islamic State looks to global attacks

BAGHDAD/CAIRO (Reuters) – Islamic State, losing territory and on the retreat in Iraq and Syria, has claimed credit for a surge in global attacks this summer, most of them in France and Germany.

The wave of attacks followed a call to strike against the West during the Islamic holy month of Ramadan in June and July, in an apparent shift in strategy by the jihadist group, which has been hammered by two years of U.S.-led coalition air strikes and ground advances by local forces.

Instead of urging supporters to travel to its self-proclaimed caliphate, it encouraged them to act locally using any means available.

“If the tyrants close the door of migration in your faces, then open the door of jihad in theirs and turn their actions against them,” said an audio clip purportedly from spokesman Abu Muhammad al-Adnani, referring to Western governments’ efforts to keep foreign fighters from traveling to the join the group.

  7. Standoff at Incirlik air base? Situation remains unclear

This is a follow-up to the breaking-news headline we put up earlier tonight (it’s after midnight on the U.S. East coast, now early on Sunday 31 Jul).

Backtracking a little, we reported Friday on protests outside the Incirlik air base at Adana, which were mounted by Turks shouting “death to America!” Erdogan, you will remember, had the (Turkish) commander of the air base arrested as a coup plotter after the “failed coup” of 15 July, and had the base raided and cut off from power and humanitarian services for nearly a week. In the days since, Erdogan has blamed the U.S. for the fomenting the coup.

As discussed at the last link, of course, the U.S. has maintained about 50 tactical nuclear weapons at Incirlik for some time.

Following the extended protests on Friday, the news broke on Saturday night that the base was being “surrounded” by Turkish police forces and all the entry and exit points locked down. According to a Hurriyet (Turkish news outlet) report, which appears to have been the first one to break this story, Turkish authorities were acting on suspicion that a “second coup” was being mounted from the military base at Adana.

  8. DAILY MAIL – Erdogan supporters denounce failed coup at rally in Germany

COLOGNE, Germany (AP) — Thousands of people gathered in the German city of Cologne on Sunday to denounce the failed July 15 coup in Turkey and show support for Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, with a heavy police presence in place.

The demonstration comes amid tensions following the coup attempt in Turkey and concern in Germany over the scale of the Turkish government’s subsequent crackdown.

Germany is home to roughly 3 million people with Turkish roots and as Sunday’s rally got underway, organizers played the Turkish and German national anthems and held a minute of silence for people killed in the attempted coup. The slogan of the demonstration was “Yes to democracy. No to the coup.”

  9. France: Muslims attend mass in sign of solidarity following Normandy attack

Hundreds of Muslims joined Christians at mass in Rouen Cathedral in Normandy on Sunday, to mourn the death of murdered priest Jacques Hamel. There was a visible security presence in the Cathedral, with soldiers on hand to guard the congregation from any potential attack.

SOT, Dominique Lebrun, Archbishop of Rouen (French): “We have been very touched by the participation of our Muslim friends and I think this is a courageous act because you may not know this but many of them [other Muslims] don’t share this opinion and think that they [Muslims] shouldn’t enter a church.”

SOT, Samia (France): “I came to show the Christian community that we are with them. We have to stand in solidarity because these barbarians want to divide us; let’s show them that we stand in solidarity.”

SOT, Josephine (French): “To kill a father like that, I am not very religious but I respect all religions and to kill a father like that is very, very traumatising.”

  10. MALTA – Quran copies desecrated at Mater Dei hospital

Archbishop Scicluna condemns vilification, saying ‘not in our name’

Several copies of Muslim holy book the Quran kept in Mater Dei hospital’s multi-faith room were desecrated yesterday, the Ministry of Health said this morning.

Slices of pork laid inside copies of the holy book, according to photos posted to Facebook by the Islamic Community of Malta.

Vandals also left behind a printout featuring a photo of Father Jacques Hamel, a Christian priest whose throat was slit by Islamic State terrorists in Normandy earlier this week, under the heading ‘Victim of Islam’.

The “act of degradation” happened at some point yesterday afternoon, the ministry said.

In a Facebook post, the ICM said that it would not fall for the perpetrators’ bait and encourage hate in “this beautiful country”.

“We urge our fellow Muslim brothers to act responsibly,” the ICM added.

In a tweet, Archbishop Charles Scicluna also condemned the vilification, saying “not in our name”.

I condemn the vilification of the Quran at Mater Dei Hospital. I condemn the abuse of the name of Martyr Fr Jacques Hamel. Not in our name.

The Health Ministry condemned the “cowards” who carried out the desecration, and expressed its solidarity with the Muslim community.

Hospital authorities have reported the case to the police.

In a statement this afternoon, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community Malta categorically condemned the act.

It noted that it always condemned every act of extremism and terrorism, wherever and for whatever reason it was committed. The killing of Christian priest, Fr Jacques Hamel, in France, was also condemned by the community all over the world, it said.

The community said that the act of vilification of the Holy Quran at Mater Dei Hospital was an act of provocation and hatred and it was sad that the vandals also left a printout photo of Fr Hamel, under the heading ‘Victim of Islam’.

“We think that this is very irresponsible and unjustified statement. The truth is, Fr Hamel is not the victim of Islam, but he is the victim of some ignorant, hatemonger, hardliner and extremists people who claimed to be Muslims.

“But, their actions cannot be justified according to the teachings of Islam and the holy quran – the sacred book of Muslims.”

Opposition leader Simon Busuttil condemned the attack in a tweet, while adding that “this is exactly why we wanted to keep religious vilification as a crime.”

That comment provoked a response from Justice Minister Owen Bonnici, who expressed disbelief at Dr Busuttil’s comments. “Can’t believe you are politicising this issue,” he wrote back.

Dr Bonnici followed that up with an official ministry statement issued on Sunday morning. In the statement, the ministry clarified that while the decriminalisation of religious vilification relaxed freedom of expression, hate crimes remained a “very serious” crime under Maltese law.

“One would expect the Opposition Leader to have avoided politicising such an important issue,” the statement said.

  11. Israel: European funded NGOs undermining Israel’s ‘right to exist’ – Netanyahu

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu accused France and other European countries of “incitement” and undermining Israel’s “right to exist” for backing NGOs which support Palestinian rights and back a boycott against Israel, before a weekly cabinet meeting in Jerusalem, Sunday.

SOT, Benjamin Netanyahu, Israeli Prime Minister (Hebrew): “Good morning, we were all shocked by the vicious terrorist attack in France last week. I have heard about a French government discussion on preventing the foreign financing of bodies that harm the security of French citizens. This sounds familiar to us. We are also disturbed by such donations to organisations that deny the State of Israel’s right to exist. I have requested a preliminary inquiry. In this inquiry we found support from European countries, including France, for several organisations that engage in incitement, call for a boycott of Israel and do not recognise the State of Israel’s right to exist. Soon, we will complete the inquiry and submit the findings to the French government. We will discuss this with them because terror is terror everywhere and incitement is incitement which, apparently, encompasses the world, governments must be as united as possible in dealing with them.”

  12. CBC – Sexual assault allegations in Halifax taxis spark warnings

‘This is not the victims’ fault. These women have done nothing wrong,’ police say as they investigate attacks

A spate of taxi drivers accused of sexually assaulting women in Halifax has police investigating the perpetrators and offering safety tips to the public.

There have been 14 sexual assault complaints in the Halifax area against taxi drivers over the last five years.

“It’s horrible and it shouldn’t happen, but we have a great number of cab drivers that are out there doing their job day in and day out, getting people to their destinations,” said Insp. Lindsay Herndon of the Halifax Regional Police.

“For many of them, it’s incredibly concerning to have these incidents going on by a handful of individuals that are tarnishing their entire industry.”

Police earlier said there had been 12 sexual assault complaints against taxi drivers in the last five years, but provided updated numbers on Thursday.

What police know about the people involved

In seven of the 14 cases, police have identified suspects. Police have identified six suspects, meaning they believe one of them is connected to two of the attacks — but they would not give any other details.

Police say the attackers are men, mostly with dark hair and aged between 30 and 50. Most spoke with an accent and many had moustaches.

In 11 of the 14 cases reported in the last five years, the victims were women aged 19 to 25. In most cases, the passenger sat in the front seat. In each case, the passenger was alone in the taxi or the driver waited until other passengers had left.

“In many of the incidents, the offenders insisted on no payment for the drive either before or after committing the sexual assault,” Halifax Regional Police said.

“The offenders often asked personal questions and attempted to flatter the victim.”[…]

Police said they will not reveal which cab companies were involved.

  13. Indians almost starving in Saudi are over 10,000, not 800: Sushma Swaraj

NEW DELHI: In a humanitarian crisis, over 10,000 Indian workers in Saudi Arabia are facing severe food shortage due to financial hardship after losing their jobs and the government has ordered its mission in the Gulf nation to provide food to them besides other assistance.

“We have asked @IndianEmbRiyadh to provide free ration to the unemployed Indian workers in Saudi Arabia,” she said in a series of tweets. Swaraj said Indians in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait were facing various problems relating to their work and wages and that the “matters are much worse” in the former.

After Sushma Swaraj’s intervention, consulate provides food to Indians facing crisis in S Arabia

Thousands of Indian workers in Saudi Arabia, facing severe food shortage due to financial hardship after losing their jobs, have been provided food by the Indian Consulate in Jeddah.

“Indian Consulate (Jeddah) and Indian community’s food stuff distribution mission accomplished at 2:45 AM today morning. Kudos to all,” the Indian Consulate here tweeted. “All 5 camps, Shumaisi, Sisten/Macrona, Sojex, Highway, Taif taken care with supply of food materials. An effort of last four days succeeded well,” it said. In a humanitarian crisis, over 10,000 Indian workers in Saudi Arabia are facing severe food shortage after losing their jobs and the government has ordered its mission in the Gulf nation to provide food to them besides other assistance.

External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj has appealed to 30 lakh Indians in this country to help their “fellow brothers and sisters”, asserting that there is nothing “mightier” than the collective will of the Indian nation. Swaraj said yesterday that Indians in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait were facing various problems relating to their work and wages and that the “matters are much worse” in the former.

Her initial response came following a tweet by a man who said around 800 Indians were starving for the last three days in Jeddah and sought her intervention. “I assure you that no Indian worker rendered unemployed in Saudi Arabia will go without food. I am monitoring this on hourly basis,” she had said. She said a large number of Indians have lost their jobs in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait and that their employers have not paid wages and closed down their factories.

  14. CNN – Khan: Trump is a “Black Soul”

Father of Deceased Muslim Soldier and DNC Speaker Khizr Khan strongly criticized Trump after Trump’s comments regarding Khan and his wife.

    • CBC – Ghazala Khan, mother of slain Muslim soldier, says Trump ‘ignorant’ about Islam

The mother of a American Muslim soldier who was killed in Iraq castigated Republican Donald Trump on Sunday as ignorant of Islam and of sacrifice after he questioned her silence during her husband’s speech at the Democratic National Convention.

Ghazala Khan, whose son, U.S. Army Capt. Humayun Khan, was killed by a suicide bomber in Iraq in 2004, bristled at Trump’s implication she was silent because she, as a Muslim woman, had not been allowed to speak.

Trump speculated in an ABC News interview, with excerpts posted on Saturday, that she remained silent during the event last Thursday because, “maybe she wasn’t allowed to have anything to say.”

The following day during an interview with MSNBC, Ghazala Khan said she didn’t speak because she’s still overwhelmed with grief.

“When Donald Trump is talking about Islam, he is ignorant,” she wrote in a Washington Post opinion piece appearing online Sunday. “Donald Trump said he has made a lot of sacrifices. He doesn’t know what the word sacrifice means.”

Her husband, Khizr Khan, also weighed in after Trump’s response. He said he appreciates that Trump called his son a hero, but he finds the Republican presidential nominee “disingenuous” because of his policies and his rhetoric.

Speaking on NBC’s Meet the Press on Sunday, Khan said Trump showed disrespect toward his wife and that the country needs to be run by someone with a “moral compass.”

      Trump’s take on Crimea

In the interview for ABC’s This Week, Trump said he would consider recognizing Russia’s annexation of Crimea, carried out in 2014, if it would lead to better relations with Moscow and stronger co-operation in fighting Islamic State in Iraq and Syria militants.

“I’m gonna take a look at it,” he told host George Stephanopoulos in the Sunday broadcast.

Trump also suggested the people of Crimea would rather be part of Russia. That runs counter to the Obama administration, which imposed economic sanctions against Russia for annexing the territory in Ukraine two years ago.

The United Nations doesn’t want countries to recognize Crimea as part of Russia, and some top Republicans are staunchly defending Crimea against what they say is Russian aggression.

When Stephanopoulos mentioned Russia’s annexation, Trump said: “You know me pretty well. I don’t bow,” before mentioning Russia’s role in the campaign against ISIS.

“But if we can have a good relationship with Russia and if Russia would help us get rid of ISIS, frankly, as far as I’m concerned, you’re talking about tremendous amounts of money and lives and everything else, that would be a positive thing, not a negative thing,” Trump said.

“The people of Crimea, from what I’ve heard, would rather be with Russia than where they were,” he said.?

      • Note how all of the people twisted what he said, he said we needed a temporary ban on refugees until we figured out how to vet them. This has been twisted into a total ban on all Moslems. By rejecting the temporary ban the opponents run the risk of getting the permanent ban that they are the only ones talking about.

  15. Turkey’s Tradition of Murdering Christians

On 26 July, the northern French town of Saint-Étienne-du-Rouvray witnessed a horrific Islamist attack: Two Islamic State (ISIS) terrorists killed an 85-year-old priest, Jacques Hamel, in his church during Mass. Two nuns and two churchgoers were taken hostage.

The terrorists, who had pledged allegiance to ISIS and, shouting “Allahu Akbar”, slit the throat of the priest and captured the bloody episode on video, according to a nun who escaped the assault.

Such Islamist attacks might be new to EU member countries but not to Turkey. For decades, so many innocent, defenseless Christians in Turkey have been slaughtered by Muslim assailants.

Christians in Turkey are still attacked, murdered or threatened daily; the assailants usually get away with their crimes.

In Malatya, in 2007, during the Zirve Bible Publishing House massacre, three Christian employees were attacked, severely tortured, then had their hands and feet tied and their throats cut by five Muslims on April 18, 2007.

Nine years have passed, but there still has been no justice for the families of the three men who were murdered so savagely.

First, the five suspects who were still in detention were released from their high-security prison by a Turkish court, which ruled that their detention exceeded newly-adopted legal limits.

  17. Hillary Campaign Victim Of THIRD Hack

The Wikileaks disclosures of the last week have been absolutely devastating to the democratic party, but a new hack has one-upped those.

Those following the DNC are quick to note that the 20,000 released emails have done a huge disservice to the presumptive democratic nominee as the catalyst for a massive walkout during the DNC, among other things. The latest, and third, hack of the democrats’ email may be the most damning yet.

“A Clinton campaign spokesman said in a statement late on Friday that an analytics data program maintained by the DNC and used by the campaign and a number of other entities ‘was accessed as part of the DNC hack.’

“‘Our campaign computer system has been under review by outside cyber security experts. To date, they have found no evidence that our internal systems have been compromised,’ said Clinton campaign spokesman Nick Merrill.

“Later, a campaign official said hackers had access to the analytics program’s server for approximately five days. The analytics data program is one of many systems the campaign accesses to conduct voter analysis, and does not include social security numbers or credit card numbers, the official said.”

  18. Italy: Imams and Priests hold service in Roman church in sign of solidarity

An Islamic delegation attended a Christian Sunday mass service at the Santa Maria in Trastevere church in Rome, to express their solidarity with the victims of Normandy attack. The action was one of many across Europe, as the continents religious communities come together to reject the recent spate of attacks that have occurred in France and Germany.

SOT, Mohamed Ben Mohamed, imam of Centocelle Mosque and president of Islamic Cultural Association in Italy (Italian): “We are always willing to promote a message of peace, a message of dialogue. A work of dialogue, of collaboration, of coexistence. In order to defeat the projects of those who want to divide us, of those who want to create between us hate and difference – enmity. We are opposed to this, and we have come here in order to, first of all, give our condolences to Jacques Hamel. And also, to say that we will always carry on the same way of our work; a commitment to peace, solidarity and love.”

One person was fatally shot and four others were shot and injured in Austin, Texas, early this morning, following two separate, unrelated incidents that put the city on edge, police said.

Initially police described the shootings as an “active shooter incident,” but later Sunday morning, that description was revoked.

In regards to the first incident, police received a call at 2:17 a.m. about multiple shots fired in downtown Austin. The suspect fired into a crowd on 6th Street, police said, adding that it is unknown if the shooter had a connection with any of the victims.

A fifth victim, a man, refused treatment.

The others were taken to hospital where their injuries were described as serious but not life threatening.

Why ‘Sharknado 4’ matters: Do climate disaster movies hurt the climate cause?

Given that 2016 is expected to be the hottest year on record, with several months that not only surpassed old heat records but did so by increasingly large margins, it stands to reason climate change should be an issue we as a nation are rushing to address. But we’re not, exactly. Instead, climate scientists are subject to political attacks and lawsuits, and debate over whether climate change even exists roils the United States Senate. A reasonable person could be left wondering how the hell we got here.

Social scientists have made great strides in determining what factors influence climate denier attitudes and what kinds of messages have the potential to combat denial. Indeed, a burgeoning movement of academics and communicators are taking on the problem of climate denial with gusto, working nonstop to produce empirically based strategies for getting the message out to the public.

Despite these efforts, researchers have paid less attention to how we’re talking about climate change in a larger cultural sense.

Enter “Sharknado.” On July 31, the fourth installment of the “Sharknado” film series airs on SyFy. The low-budget films are a surprise smash hit, breaking records in 2013 with the original “Sharknado.” It’s led to a series of movies and a variety of media spin-offs, including a video game and companion book.

  22. Islam channel in German to remove misconceptions

RIYADH: Huda TV Channel, a global broadcasting satellite service with its headquarters in Riyadh, has launched a channel in the German language to present the correct image of Islam in the West.

The channel is targeting 145 million people who speak the language around the world, local media reported on Saturday.

Hamad Al-Ghammas, chairman of the board of directors of Huda TV Channel, reportedly said during the channel’s launch ceremony on Thursday that Islam is being projected among non-Muslims in a distorted manner. “This has compelled us to communicate with people in their mother tongue and present the right image of the religion,” he said, expressing optimism that the move will be beneficial in a big way.

The channel aims to introduce Islam to the German-speaking population, remove misconceptions, focus on the positive Islamic behavior, educate them on the Islamic civilization and its role in the development of humanity and refute accusations against the religion.

  23. Germany sees record requests for self-defense weapons amid fears of lone-wolf attacks

Requests in Germany for self-defense weapons permits are hitting record highs in 2016, police data reveals. Firearms ownership experts say people wanting to purchase non-lethal weapons come from all sections of society, “be it workers or professors.”

The new police data shows that Germans are feeling increasingly unsafe in the wake of recent lone-wolf attacks and shootings, which has sparked a demand for non-lethal self-defense weapons.

“THE terror group responsible for killing hundreds of thousands of people in attacks around the world say it is doubling efforts to wipe christianity off the face of the earth.

And they’ve targeted church leaders including Pope Francis, figures within the Greek Orthodox church and Coptic christians.

Their advice to wannabe jihadis states: “As for a final word of advice to you regarding your operation, do not make intricate plans, but instead, keep it simple and effective.

“If you can obtain a weapon, do so and use it, as soon as possible and in a place that will cause the most damage and panic, bringing death and injury to the enemy of Allah, the disbelievers.

“Just as they terrify the Muslims in the lands of Islam, so should you terrify the disbelievers in their homelands.”

Bizarrely in-between instructing their followers to carry out evil acts of violence they also show pictures of jihadis posting with kittens.

And western women are slammed in their new 15th edition manual for not being shy and acting like “Maidens.”

When explaining why they dislike emancipated women they say: “They need not be a mother, a wife, or a maiden, but rather, she should work like man, rule like man, and have intercourse like an animal, without being conscious of her Lord watching both her and her heinous partner in crime.”…..”

  28. Turkey says to back away from EU migrant deal if no visa-free travel (reuters, July 31, 2016)
    http://www.reuters.com/article/us-turkey-security-eu-travel-idUSKCN10B0SK

“Turkey would have to back out of its agreement with the European Union to stem the flow of migrants into the bloc if the EU does not deliver visa-free travel for Turks, Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu has said.

Visa-free access to the EU – the main reward for Ankara’s collaboration in choking off an influx of migrants into Europe – has been subject to delays due to a dispute over Turkish anti-terrorism legislation and Ankara’s crackdown after a failed coup.

Cavusoglu told Germany’s daily Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung the agreement on stemming the refugee flow had worked because of “very serious measures” taken by Ankara.

“But all that is dependent on the cancellation of the visa requirement for our citizens, which is also an item in the agreement of March 18,” Cavusoglu said in a release in advance of comments to be published in the newspaper’s Monday edition.”If visa liberalization does not follow, we will be forced to back away from the deal on taking back (refugees) and the agreement of March 18,” he said, adding that the Turkish government was waiting for a precise date for visa liberalization.

“It could be the beginning or middle of October – but we are waiting for a firm date.”

European Commissioner Guenther Oettinger said recently he did not see the EU granting Turks visa-free travel this year due to Ankara’s crackdown after the failed military coup in mid-July.”

The speaker and sheiks explain that what the western media refers to as “extremist” or “radical Islam” is neither. Whatever complaints westerners have or misunderstand and think is radical– is not– because the rules according to Islam are based on the Qur’an.

The speaker states, “these are general views that every Muslim has.” Then he builds up to the main point through each question:

Thousands of people gathered in Sevastopol to see the country’s maritime forces parade for Russia’s Navy Day on Sunday.

Thirty warships, submarines and vessels together with 3,000 sailors took part in the celebrations. Among the warships were seen small-sized missile ships, including the Serpukhov and the Zelenyy dol, the submarine Rostov-on-Don and the frigate Admiral Grigorovich along with a Ka-27 helicopter.

  31. BREITBART – NSA Whistleblower: Agency Has All of Clinton’s Deleted Emails

PHILADELPHIA – The National Security Agency (NSA) has “all” of Hillary Clinton’s deleted emails and the FBI could gain access to them if they so desired, William Binney, a former highly placed NSA official, declared in a radio interview broadcast on Sunday.

Speaking as an analyst, Binney raised the possibility that the hack of the Democratic National Committee’s server was done not by Russia but by a disgruntled U.S. intelligence worker concerned about Clinton’s compromise of national security secrets via her personal email use.

Binney was an architect of the NSA’s surveillance program. He became a famed whistleblower when he resigned on October 31, 2001, after spending more than 30 years with the agency.

He was speaking on this reporter’s Sunday radio program, “Aaron Klein Investigative Radio,” broadcast on New York’s AM 970 The Answer and Philadelphia’s NewsTalk 990 AM.

Binney referenced testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee in March 2011 by then-FBI Director Robert S. Mueller in which Meuller spoke of the FBI’s ability to access various secretive databases “to track down known and suspected terrorists.”

Stated Binney: “Now what he (Mueller) is talking about is going into the NSA database, which is shown of course in the (Edward) Snowden material released, which shows a direct access into the NSA database by the FBI and the CIA. Which there is no oversight of by the way. So that means that NSA and a number of agencies in the U.S. government also have those emails.”

“So if the FBI really wanted them they can go into that database and get them right now,” he stated of Clinton’s emails as well as DNC emails.

Asked point blank if he believed the NSA has copies of “all” of Clinton’s emails, including the deleted correspondence, Binney replied in the affirmative.

“Yes,” he responded. “That would be my point. They have them all and the FBI can get them right there.”

Binney surmised that the hack of the DNC could have been coordinated by someone inside the U.S. intelligence community angry over Clinton’s compromise of national security data with her email use.

And the other point is that Hillary, according to an article published by the Observer in March of this year, has a problem with NSA because she compromised Gamma material. Now that is the most sensitive material at NSA. And so there were a number of NSA officials complaining to the press or to the people who wrote the article that she did that. She lifted the material that was in her emails directly out of Gamma reporting. That is a direct compromise of the most sensitive material at the NSA. So she’s got a real problem there. So there are many people who have problems with what she has done in the past. So I don’t necessarily look at the Russians as the only one(s) who got into those emails.

The Observer defined the GAMMA classification:

GAMMA compartment, which is an NSA handling caveat that is applied to extraordinarily sensitive information (for instance, decrypted conversations between top foreign leadership, as this was).

    http://www.breitbart.com/jerusalem/2016/07/31/exclusive-nsa-architect-agency-clintons-deleted-emails/

    • This makes more sense then Russia releasing the emails, Russia would keep their mouth shut and use them for blackmail purposes. People at the NSA or the FBI or both, who are upset over Hillary’s carelessness and her ability to break the law with impunity would be willing to give Assuage the emails trying to prevent her from becoming President.

What the people who keep saying Russia released the emails don’t do is stop and think what does Russia get out of releasing them? Hillary is a communist further to the left then Bernie, just hiding what she is. Her actions say communist who hates the US. Russia would have more control over events if she were President and held under Putin’s thumb by nasty blackmail material. Patriots at the FBI and NSA on the other hand would consider her not becoming President a victory.

  32. Kabul explosion: ‘Foreign compound’ targeted by Taliban (BBC, Aug 1, 2016)
    http://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-36938246

“A huge explosion has rocked the Afghan capital Kabul.

Witnesses said it struck at about 01:25 local time on Monday (20:55 GMT Sunday) and was heard across most of the city.

Reports say it was a lorry bomb at the North Gate compound housing foreign contractors and four attackers may be involved. The Taliban said it carried out the attack.

There is no word about casualties. Power in parts of Kabul was briefly cut off shortly before the explosion.

North Gate, which is close to the US-run Bagram air base, is a heavily guarded compound.
The facility was attacked by militants three years ago.

Earlier reports suggested that Monday’s blast was in a gas storage facility.

Last week, two suicide bombers linked to the so-called Islamic State (IS) killed 80 people and wounded 230 more in Kabul.”

  33. Pope: Not right to talk about a ‘violent, terrorist’ Islam

ABOARD THE PAPAL PLANE (AP) — Pope Francis on Sunday said he won’t label Islam as “terrorist” because that would be unfair and not true.

Reporters aboard the papal plane flying him home after a pilgrimage to Poland, the day after extremists slit the throat of an elderly priest celebrating Mass in a French church, asked him why he never uses the world “Islam” to describe terrorism or other violence.

While in Poland, Francis made an unscheduled stop at a church in Krakow to implore God to protect people from the “devastating wave” of terrorism in many part of the world.

When asked why he didn’t describe the priest’s murder and other attacks as Islamic terrorism, Francis replied he won’t do that because “it’s not right to identify Islam with violence. It’s not right and it’s not true.”

“I believe that in every religion there is always a little fundamentalist group.”

“I don’t like to talk of Islamic violence because every day, when I go through the newspapers, I see violence, this man who kills his girlfriend, another who kills his mother-in-law,” Francis said, in apparent reference to crime news in predominantly Catholic Italy. “And these are baptized Catholics. If I speak of Islamic violence, then I have to speak of Catholic violence.”

“In Islam, not all are violent, not all the Catholics are violent. It’s like a fruit salad, everything’s in there.

Noting he has spoken with imams, he concluded: “I know how they think, they are looking for peace.”

As for ISIS, he said, the Islamic State group “presents itself with a violent identity card, but that’s not Islam.”

Francis spoke on the day when Muslims in France and Italy flocked to Mass to Sunday Mass in a show of interfaith solidarity following a string of extremist attacks threatening to sharpen religious divides across Europe.

Pope Francis blames global economy, not Islam, for terrorism

ROME — Pope Francis said the inspiration for terrorism wasn’t Islam but a world economy that worshiped the “god of money” and drove the disenfranchised to violence.

“Terrorism grows when there is no other option, and as long as the world economy has at its center the god of money and not the person, “ the pope told reporters late Sunday as he returned to the Vatican from a five-day visit in Poland. “This is fundamental terrorism, against all humanity.”

Speaking on his flight from Krakow, the pope was responding to a question about possible links between Islam and recent terrorist attacks, particularly the killing on Tuesday of a priest in northern France by followers of Islamic State.

Pope Francis suggested that the social and economic marginalization of Muslim youth in Europe helped explain the actions of those who joined extremist groups. “How many youths have we Europeans left empty of ideals? They don’t have work, and they turn to drugs and alcohol. They go [abroad] and enroll in fundamentalist groups,” the pope said.

His own experience in interreligious dialogue had shown him that Muslims seek “peace and encounter,” he said. “It is not right and it is not just to say that Islam is terroristic.” And he added that no religion had a monopoly of violent members.

CBC -Pope Francis says it’s ‘not right’ to link Islam to violence

‘If I speak of Islamic violence, I have to speak of Catholic violence. Not all Muslims are violent.’

Lack of economic opportunities for young people to blame for terrorism, pontiff says

Pope Francis said on Sunday that it was wrong to identify Islam with violence and that social injustice and idolatry of money were among the prime causes of terrorism.

“I think it is not right to identity Islam with violence,” he told reporters aboard the plane taking him back to Rome after a five-day trip to Poland. “This is not right and this is not true.”

Francis was responding to a question about the killing on July 26 of an 85-year-old Roman Catholic priest by knife-wielding attackers who burst into a church service in western France, forced the priest to his knees and slit his throat. The attack was claimed by the hardline Sunni militant group ISIS.

“I think that in nearly all religions there is always a small fundamentalist group,” he said, adding “We have them,” referring to Catholicism.

“I don’t like to talk about Islamic violence because every day when I look at the papers I see violence here in Italy — someone killing his girlfriend, someone killing his mother-in-law. These are baptized Catholics,” he said.

“If I speak of Islamic violence, I have to speak of Catholic violence. Not all Muslims are violent,” he said.
    Lack of economic opportunity

He said there were various causes of terrorism. “I know it dangerous to say this, but terrorism grows when there is no other option and when money is made a god and it, instead of the person, is put at the centre of the world economy,” he said.

“That is the first form of terrorism. That is a basic terrorism against all humanity. Let’s talk about that,” he said.

When he started the trip on Wednesday, Francis said the killing of the priest and a string of other attacks were proof the “world is at war,” but it was not caused by religion.

He told reporters on the plane that lack of economic opportunities for young people in Europe was also to blame for terrorism.

“I ask myself how many young people that we Europeans have left devoid of ideals, who do not have work. Then they turn to drugs and alcohol or enlist in ISIS,” he said.
