  1. California Man Sentenced for Trying to Aid Islamic State (abcnews, July 25, 2016)
    http://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/californian-joining-islamic-state-faces-sentencing-40845320

“A judge on Monday sentenced a California man to 15 years in prison and supervised release for life after he acknowledged trying to aid and join the Islamic State terror group in Syria.

The case against Adam Dandach, 22, is one in a series involving young men in states ranging from California to Georgia who have been charged with trying to assist Islamic State and other terrorist groups.

Dandach, an Orange County native, pleaded guilty last year to attempting to provide material support to a terror group and lying on his passport application. His lawyer said Dandach could have been given an 80-year prison term if he had been convicted at trial.

Federal prosecutors had sought a 20-year sentence for Dandach, who authorities said had videos of executions and decapitations by terrorists stored on his computer. He also had encouraged terrorist beliefs in online chatrooms and continued to write violent poetry even from jail, authorities said…”

  2. Facebook, Twitter Cooperated With Brazil Probe of Alleged Militants (nbcnews, July 25, 2016)
    http://www.nbcnews.com/tech/social-media/facebook-twitter-cooperated-brazil-probe-alleged-militants-n616136

“The judge overseeing the probe that led to the arrest last week of suspected Islamist militants in Brazil said Facebook and Twitter cooperated with investigators by providing information about the suspects’ use of both social networks.

In an interview late Sunday with Fantastico, a weekly news program on the Globo television network, Judge Marcos Josegrei da Silva said cooperation by both companies, after a judicial order tied to the investigation, was instrumental to understand the nature of discussions carried out by the suspects, a 12th of whom was detained late Sunday.

“The companies began to provide data related to the content of the conversations and data about where those conversations were posted,” the judge said, without providing more details.

Spokesmen for Facebook and Twitter declined to comment on specifics of the case. Both spokesmen said that their respective companies have zero tolerance for activities related to terrorism and other crimes and that they cooperate with law enforcement authorities when necessary.

Brazilian investigators said the suspects in the ongoing probe, dubbed “Operation Hashtag,” are sympathetic to the Islamic State militant group and through messaging services and the Internet had discussed attacking the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, which start August 5.

In the Fantastico interview, the judge said “there is no anonymity for those sorts of activities on the internet.”…”

  3. The Left’s ideology, deconstructed: Hiliary Clinton’s trigger-sensistive audience, presented with unveiled threats of the dark forces behind Political Correctness – it’s the Law not to offend me – that the Religion of Peace uses on their own Sharia-Compliant audiences – it’s the Law not to offend Muhammad and his Allah.

Love these victims – you know you’re better than this – and for a while, for your vote, we’ll even stop calling you White Privileged.

Vote Hiliary, the name you can trust.

    • The name you can trust to steal everything that isn’t nailed down, and if they have a crowbar there isn’t much that is nailed down securely enough.

      • This is how they would act if they were getting hyped up to run through a mine field to clear the mines, the Iranians did this in their war with Saddam.

        • I met an Iranian kid who got given a plastic key in order to get into Paradise after he got killed clearing minefields. Luckily, this kid got some help and made it to Canada. Islam is a truly barbaric and cruel religion…

      • 20 seconds in, had to mute. Such enthusiasm for a crazy old commie who’s accomplished nothing in 74 years – I don’t get it.

        • The left always deifies their leaders. I don’t know why possibly genetic programing to follow the nearest demagogue?

          • It’s a wonder that more Democrats didn’t take a minute to ponder why it has been so absolutely essential that Hillary be the candidate, no matter what. There were over 15 great people on the Republican side, but all the Dems could do was put up Hillary and Bernie-the-fake-candidate to act as her foil. Really. Considering all the controversy you’d think at least one alternate would have appeared, but if they did, I didn’t see them. Just Bernie the Communist joke.

What’s that you say? Do I hear Democrat convention-goers booing at their own masters…?

            • Back in 92 when Bill was elected I said that he would end up destroying the Democrat Party. Looks like it is his wife destroying them. The corruption in both parties is so bad that both will end up being destroyed because of it.

    • Agreed! And if they catch them going, “Allahu Akbar” on their surveillance tapes, it’s over and out. Arrest, internment, deportation, imprisonment…

  4. Human trafficking gang busted (thelocal, July 25, 2016)
    http://www.thelocal.at/20160725/human-trafficking-gang-busted-hungary-refugees

“Austrian police said Monday that an international operation has smashed an alleged people-smuggling ring suspected of illegally bringing more than 1,000 people from Hungary into western Europe over the past year.

More than 100 officers in Austria, Germany, Poland and Hungary raided 12 properties last Thursday, arresting seven people believed to be the ringleaders, police in Salzburg told reporters.

They would allegedly charge 300 euros ($330) per person for transport from Hungary to Vienna and 700-800 euros to get to Germany, transporting them in convoys of several cars and paying drivers 700 euros per journey.

“This remains a very lucrative business,” said Gerald Tatzgern, Austria’s senior official in charge of efforts to tackle human-smuggling.

Austria and Hungary last year became major transit countries for hundreds of thousands of migrants, many of them escaping violence in Syria and elsewhere, travelling up from Greece into western Europe…”

  5. Moroccan Youth Football Team Disqualified for Sexually Assaulting Swedish Girls (moroccoworldnews, July 25, 2016)
    http://www.moroccoworldnews.com/2016/07/192266/moroccan-youth-football-team-disqualified-sexually-assaulting-swedish-girls/

“On Monday at the opening ceremony of the Gothia Cup in Sweden, the world’s largest youth football competition, a Moroccan team, led by their coach, sexually molested three 16-year-old girls, according to the New Arab.

The incident occurred when the Moroccan teenagers reportedly wanted to take pictures with the three sixteen-year-old girls outside Ullevi stadium in Gothenburg.

The teenagers surrounded the three teens, kissing and groping them. Not all the team members were involved, so the girls could not pinpoint the attackers.

A mother of one of the victims accused an adult man, allegedly the team manager, for shoving his tongue in her daughter’s mouth.

Police arrested the manager, 35, who denied the allegations and remained him in custody for further investigation. The tournament’s organizers disqualified the team from the competition.

Dennis Andersson, the Gothia Cup’s founder and Secretary General, described the incident as ‘’shocking’’ and completely regretted what the team members did.

Mr. Andersson pointed out that the Gothia Cup was developing a strategy to fight sexual assaults using the tournament. “I have already started thinking about the future. Gothia Cup should be at the forefront of the question of stopping stuff like this,’’ he said.”

  6. EU-Tunisia project on migration launched (ansamed, July 25, 2016)

“TUNIS – The EU-funded project ‘LEMMA, together for mobility’ providing stronger cooperation between European and Tunisian authorities on illegal migration and mobility is to be presented in Tunis on Tuesday. The three-year project costing 5 million euros seeks to develop synergies between public policy in Tunisia and the seven European partner countries – Belgium, Spain, France, Italy, Poland, Portugal and Sweden – and to optimise the benefits of economic migration for Tunisia. In addition, it sets out to strengthen the capacity of the Tunisian authorities and civil society organisations to support the reintegration of migrants who decide to return home. Lemma comes under the auspices of the EU-Tunisia partnership for mobility signed in March 2014 and of which Italy is a signatory.”

  7. Expats can’t buy property in holy cities, Riyadh — Shoura (saudigazette, July 25, 2016)
    http://saudigazette.com.sa/saudi-arabia/expats-cant-buy-property-holy-cities-riyadh-shoura/

” The Shoura Council has reiterated its last year’s decision preventing non-Saudis from owning property, real estate or locations within the boundaries of Makkah, Madinah or Riyadh.

The Shoura, according to a report in Okaz Arabic daily, has defined non-Saudis to be the natural persons who do not have the Saudi nationality, the non-Saudi companies or the companies established by Saudis but have foreign shareholders.

The Shoura called for severe punishment against violators and said the decision was aimed at preventing any harm to the two holy cities while at the same time preserving the investment environment in the Kingdom.

It also said the decision was aimed at ending the crime of tasattur (expatriates doing business in the name of Saudis against certain fees).

Several Saudi realtors welcomed the decision describing it as wise and said it will safeguard the sanctity of Makkah and Madinah. They were unanimous that the decision would not have any adverse effect on the current real estate prices in the Kingdom…”

      • Not peacefully anyway.

Yes 20 to 25% Moslem seems to be the tipping point for violence. With the trained soldiers coming in claiming to be refugees the tipping point will be when they think they have enough military might to conquer the nations.

          • That depends on how uncivilized you are willing to act, don’t forget the Spanish, Portuguese and Catalans kicked the Moslems out of the Iberian peninsula when their percentage was much higher. They did this by being as brutal and bloody minded as the Moslems. They were removed from most portions of Eastern Europe the same way. Granted doing this will require a lot more brutality then I am comfortable with but given time the Europeans may decide to be that brutal to preserve their nations.

    • Too many contradictions in Germany’s relationship with Israel.

Officially, hearts and flowers. Unofficially, first among those who seek to delegitimate the Jewish state. Made possible because the left overwhelmingly dominates the media and the courts in Israel.

These German government-funded NGOs stage and fabricate human rights violations. They broadcast this slander all over the world, the only “news” that the outside world gets about Israel. The Big Lie works.

The Left owns these NGOs. There’s nothing noble about their means or the ends they seek to achieve.

A gunman opened fire at a nightclub in Fort Myers, Florida on Monday, killing two people and wounding 16 others.

  9. REWIND: FBI Shuts Down Russian Spy Ring for Getting Too Cozy with Hillary Clinton

With the Democratic Party set to officially anoint Hillary Clinton as their presidential candidate during the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia this week, and with accusations of Republican candidate Donald Trump’s supposed close associations with Russia, it is worth noting that Clinton has her Russia issues as well.

In March 2009 (the early days of Clinton’s tenure as secretary of State), in Clinton’s first meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, she presented him with a “reset” button said to be emblematic of the Obama administration’s new openness to Russia after the Bush administration.

Sadly, for Clinton, the word printed on the “reset” button was “peregruzka” [“overcharged”] rather than “perezagruzka” [“reset”].

That is not the only occasion that Clinton has got “lost in translation” with Russia.

    • The answer on why we have done nothing is one word, Obama, he will do nothing to upset a fellow Moslem especially one that has a good chance of becoming Caliph.

    • When I was on active a tactical nuke had a yield of less then 5 kilotons, ones with yields of the size they are talking about are strategic weapons, and in many ways political weapons. Political weapons are the ones only politicians can order used and then only as a last resort.

  10. Iran has a Plan to Reopen Forbidden Nuke Sites

The nuclear deal with Iran is becoming what Obama’s red line in Syria was; a punchline to a bad joke. Iran spends half its time announcing that it will scrap the deal. Because that is just how committed it is to it.

The latest threat is rather more organized and serious.

Ali Larijani, the leader of Iran’s parliament, requested this week that the Iranian Atomic Energy Organization prepare a plan to reopen nuclear enrichment facilitates that had been shutdown as part of the effort to limit Tehran’s research into nuclear weapons technology, according to comments carried in Iran’s state-controlled media.

Iranian leaders are displeased with a recent United Nations report chastising the Islamic Republic for violating international agreements prohibiting the country’s work on ballistic missiles.

The U.N. described these repeated test launches as not consistent with international accords. Iranian leaders dismissed the report as “biased.”

  11. Will Putin Get A Pulitzer?
Pat Buchanan asks what Clinton knew of ‘DNC cheating’
    […]
In 1971, the New York Times published secret documents from the Kennedy-Johnson administration on how America got involved in Vietnam. Goal: Discredit the war the Times had once supported, and undercut the war effort, now that Richard Nixon was president.

The documents, many marked secret, had been illicitly taken from Defense Department files, copied and published by the Times.

America’s newspaper of record defended its actions by invoking “the people’s right to know” the secrets of their government.

Well, do not the people have “a right to know” of sordid schemes of DNC operatives to sink a presidential campaign?

Do the people not have a right to know that, in denying Sanders’ charges, the leadership of the DNC was lying to him, lying to the party and lying to the country?

What did Clinton know of Wasserman Schultz’s complicity in DNC cheating in the presidential campaign, and when did she know it?

For publishing stolen Defense Department secrets, the Pentagon Papers, the Times got a Pulitzer Prize.

If the Russians were helpful in bringing to the attention of the American people the anti-democratic business being done at the DNC, perhaps the Russians deserve similar recognition.

By the Times’ standard of 1971, maybe Putin deserves a Pulitzer.

    • The end result of their actions were over 2 million Vietnamese murdered, genocide on the Mountain tribes and many more millions murdered in Cambodia. The untalked about results of the far lefts anti war efforts. John Kerry was a serving officer when he participated in anti-war efforts and went to Paris to talk with the North Vietnamese, there he gave them the schedules of the demonstrations to coordinate their attacks with the anti war protests. This is the Naval record that the left wing collage professors call honorable.

  12. EU CANNOT threaten us: Turkey’s WARNING to Juncker after Europe’s order on death penalty (express, July 25, 2016)
    http://www.express.co.uk/news/world/693043/Turkey-warns-Juncker-after-order-from-EU-threatens-death-penalty

“TURKEY’S foreign minister has said the EU CANNOT threaten Turkey regarding the death penalty.

Mevlut Cavusoglu told Haberturk TV that Juncker should not look down on Turkey or think it can be ordered around.

The comments came in response to EU commission president Jean-Claude Juncker who said if Turkey went forward with the death penalty there would be no hope for the country joining the EU…”

  13. http://english.alarabiya.net/en/News/world/2016/07/25/Poland-arrests-Iraqi-man-for-possession-of-explosives.html

Law enforcement officials in central Poland said Monday that a 48-year-old Iraqi man has been arrested on charges of possessing explosives.

The arrest on Sunday in Lodz took place just days before Pope Francis comes to Poland to meet with hundreds of thousands of young people from around the globe for celebrations of the World Youth Day.

Poland’s Interior Minister Mariusz Blaszczak says the gathering will be safe.

Beata Marczak, spokeswoman for prosecutors in Lodz said that “small amounts of explosives, not sufficient to make an explosion” were found on the man. He could face up to eight years in prison if convicted on charges of illegal possession of explosives.

The man was questioned in English and put under two months’ arrest, but there were “no grounds for allegations of terrorism,” Marczak said.

  14. From the ‘looney left’ bin (seriously proposed project – more at link:
    http://politicalhat.com/2016/07/25/according-to-academia-mountains-are-people-too/

“This essay engages feminist science studies and theories of performativity to inject with dynamism familiar figurations of static being. Through the modalities of ethnographic writing, memory, and embodied experience, I enact a lively engagement with Canada’s Rocky Mountains. By shifting the way we understand this unique, constitutive feature of the Canadian West, I suggest an approach to ethics that expands categories of agency, disaggregating it from realms of human exceptionalism. Through the analytic of performativity, I attend to the dynamic and agentive capacity/ies of glacial bodies, mountains, and lichen—nonhuman bodies considered passive and inert by prevailing epistemologies—to make/materialize meaning. I animate the argument that what we call nature is not a passive, immutable surface on which culture is inscribed, but rather is the production of active, agential practices, each containing divergent wills to power immanent with the capacity to make cuts of their own. The aim of this writing is to think through how mountains, and other such complex living systems, might pose a necessary series of questions to prevailing epistemologies and systems of epistemological capture.”
