  1. WATCH: Moment a man threatens to blow up mosque and THOUSANDS of Muslims inside (Express, video, July 12, 2016)
    http://www.express.co.uk/news/world/688344/suicide-bomber-mosque-Turkey

“A MAN who told worshippers in a mosque that he was about to blow himself and the sacred building to pieces was nearly killed by a lynch mob

The suspected ‘suicide bomber’ told the packed mosque that he was about to blow up the entire ancient place of worship.

The man showed what appeared to be a suicide bomb vest and handmade explosives as he ran towards the mosque’s imam.

He grabbed the imam’s microphone and began a “threatening speech”.

Thousands of Muslims praying inside the mosque in the southern Turkish to city of Adana fled as soon as the threat was made.

However, several brave worshippers took it upon themselves to tackle the man when he did not immediately blow himself up.

When other Muslims realised that the threat was empty and the explosives had failed, he was dragged outside and given a savage beating.

Amateur phone footage captured the moment the crowd at the ancient Sabanci mosque beat the man up and nearly lynched him before police arrived…”

  2. Israel Passes Law Targeting Human Rights Organizations (abcnews, July 11, 2016)
    http://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/israel-passes-law-targeting-human-rights-organizations-40502988

“Israel’s parliament passed a controversial law Monday that increases the regulation of many Israeli human rights organizations.

The law approved by a vote of 57 to 48 targets groups that receive more than half their funding from foreign governments or political organizations. In practice, the law will affect liberal groups almost exclusively because hawkish groups in Israel largely rely on donations from wealthy individuals, which are exempt.

The law requires organizations to state that they rely on foreign funding in all communication with public officials and on TV, newspapers, billboards and online. Representatives of these groups must also declare they depend on foreign contributions to the heads of parliamentary committees when participating in meetings. Failure to comply will result in fines.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has strongly supported the legislation, saying there is nothing anti-democratic about requiring transparency so the public is aware of the role of foreign governments in funding these groups.

Opponents of the law argued that the Netanyahu government was trying to target liberal human rights organizations that are critical of Israel’s policies toward the Palestinians.

Lawmaker Robert Ilatov of the hard-line nationalist Israel Beitenu party said he co-sponsored the law because “intervention in Israel’s internal affairs is not acceptable.”

Previous versions of the bill would have labeled the groups as foreign agents and allowed Israel to tax donations received from foreign governments. One particularly contentious proposal that was later dropped would have required representatives of these groups to wear identification tags while they were in Israel’s Knesset, or parliament.

During a debate late Monday that lasted several hours, Israeli opposition lawmakers heaped criticism on the legislation even though it had been toned down.

Opposition lawmaker Nachman Shai of the Zionist Union party said, “We will pay for this damage for many generations.”

Other opposition lawmakers compared the measure to authoritarian policies in Russia and Saudi Arabia.

The so-called NGO law was approved despite strong criticism from abroad.

German lawmaker Volker Beck, chairman of the German-Israeli Parliamentary Friendship Group, wrote on Facebook Monday that the law would “tarnish the reputation” of Israel.

Israeli media has reported that nearly all of the Israeli groups that receive more than half their funding from foreign governments are human rights organizations identified with the left.

The anti-settlement group Peace Now announced it will challenge the law in Israel’s Supreme Court.

“While the law will delegitimize left-wing organizations, pro-settler NGOs who receive millions of dollars in foreign donations without any transparency will remain unaffected,” the group said in a statement.

      • It is a very good idea. Also to declare when over 50% of a charity’s income comes from a government source. Then we will know who pulls the strings – because such doners and grant providers often stipulate what their money can be spent on.

    • I think this is a real good idea, the left depends on a few left wing billionaires to fund their agenda, the people of all nations have a right to know that foreign groups and people are funding the push to destroy their nations.

  3. Australian Convicted of Recruiting 6 Men to Fight in Syria (abcnews, July 12, 2016)
    http://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/australian-convicted-recruiting-men-fight-syria-40507225

“The first person charged in Australia with recruiting and sending fighters to Syria was convicted Tuesday of recruiting six foreign fighters.

Hamdi Alqudsi, 42, had pleaded not guilty in the New South Wales state Supreme Court in Sydney to seven counts of recruiting men from June until October in 2013 to travel from Australia to Syria to fight with Jabhat al-Nusra and other al-Qaida affiliates.

A jury on Tuesday found him guilty of six counts then continued deliberations on the charge relating to the seventh man.

Each offense carries a potential maximum of 10 years in prison. The same offense committed since legislation was amended in 2014 carries a maximum sentence of 25 years.

At least two of the recruits died in Syria. A sentencing date has yet to be set.”

    • The open borders are trying to force Canada to remove more of their laws that protect the Canadians from foreign domination.

The left is on a roll and thinks they can stop the building populist movements to protect national sovereignty and the individual cultures of the nations of the west. Look at the logical end results of the various actions and you will see what the left wants.

  4. Tribunal: No basis for China’s vast South China Sea claims

THE HAGUE, Netherlands (AP) — A tribunal ruled in a sweeping decision Tuesday that China has no legal basis for its vast claims in the South China Sea and had aggravated the seething regional dispute with its extensive construction of artificial islands that destroyed coral reefs and infringed on the Philippines’ exclusive economic zone.

China immediately rejected the arbitration findings, and their impact remained unclear as there is no policing agency or mechanism to enforce them.

While the ruling cannot reverse China’s actions, it still constitutes a rebuke, carrying with it the force of the international community’s opinion. It also gives heart to small countries in Asia that have helplessly chafed at China’s expansionism, backed by its military and economic power.

  5. S. China Sea arbitration: A US-led conspiracy behind the farce

Since U.S. President Barack Obama took office, “Pivot to Asia” has become one of Washington’s political pursuits and military strategies. The disputes between China and the Philippines over the South China Sea, which was provoked by former Philippine President Aquino III, came just in time as it offered Washington a good excuse and easy approach to return to the region.

In January 2013, the Philippines unilaterally initiated arbitral proceedings on the South China Sea issue. To circumvent the law, it secretly changed relative concepts, deliberately separated the Nansha Islands, and asked the tribunal to issue an award over the legal status and maritime claims of some of the islands and reefs that belong to the Nansha Islands as a whole.

What Aquino III did was a clear violation of international law. However, Washington chose to ignore the facts and the law, giving full support to its flunkey in Asia without hesitation.

So, we can tell that Washington has taken sides from the very beginning. What has it done before and behind the curtain then? Generally, it took four kinds of actions.

First, colluding with its allies to rubbish China.

Regarding the South China Sea arbitration, U.S. government officials and media have expressed many negative opinions of China, so as to portray Beijing as a “violator” of international order. U.S. Secretary of Defense Ash Carter used to say in public that China’s activity in the South China Sea could lead to a “great wall of self-isolation.” Japan, as an ally of Washington, was also active and enthusiastic in helping the U.S. to suppress China.

Second, showing off military force and putting pressure on China.

The U.S. has been stepping up military actions in the South China Sea recently. Particularly, in the middle of June, two U.S. aircraft carriers, the USS John C. Stennis and USS Ronald Reagan, launched joint operations in the South China Sea, staging a show of force aimed at China.

    • Pay as close attention to this situtation as you do to Europe, China is making war talk and the US is in no position to oppose them. The time period between now and when the next President is the best chance that China has to make massive gains in the Far East, and it is also the best time period for the Islamic invaders to make gains in Europe.

The various radical racist groups in the US are drawing our attention to what is happening inside the US and the wanna be world conquers are going to take advantage of this.

      • That is why Russia just offered a nuclear powered aircraft carrier for sale to India.

Even if we do not pay as much attention as we should, Russia and India are.

        • India has also entered into a mutual defense treaty with Nam, the Philippines and Japan. I don’t know if Indonesia, Singapore, Burma and Malaysia have joined or not. Japan has been quietly rearming and changing its Constitution since Obama took office.

We;come to the Post America world.

        • How good is Indian Navy in comparison to Chinese Navy ?
How Indian Navy and People’s Liberation Army Navy fair against each other ?

          https://www.quora.com/How-good-is-Indian-Navy-in-comparison-to-Chinese-Navy

(The author states that the Indian Navy can stop a Chinese flotilla sent into the Indian Ocean but needs allies (he says the US) to protect the South China Sea. Since the US has had the Obama ordered drastic draw down of of the US military India has been hunting other partners to protect their trade routes through the South China Sea.)

          • The PRC economy is freaking BIG and is capable of producing virtually anything the west has. Maybe they do produce copies of stuff and maybe it’s not the best, like jet engines to power stealth fighters, but for sure, they are getting there. The share amount of high IQ people there that are math capable means engineering in depth in all areas of military endeavors. Compared to India, I’d say that PRC would roll over them no sweat. They are the only non-white country to launch people into space. They spend money on R&D, because they have the dough. Would I be scared in the USA of a new world order? Damn straight. It’s coming, while our military gets pushback from the lefties just modernizing our strategic nuclear forces.

            • 1) The Chinese economy isn’t near as strong as they claim, they are using accounting tricks to make it look much stronger then it is.

              2) If Trump can manage a structured bankruptcy for the US we will be back stronger then ever.

              3) Think about the wins by Reagan and Bush II, they were in a strong enough position to rebuild the US military after the left had torn it down.

Yes by itself China can run over India by throwing more men and equipment in then India has. this fact is why India developed nuclear weapons and won’t sign any treaties that require it to destroy their nukes. They estimates on how many nuclear weapons they have varies from 75 all the way up to 2000. The articles I have read seem to be making the assumption that India has a certain amount of fissile material and will never get anymore. To play it safe take an estimate of 75 to 100 as the low side guess and then double the number.

Also remember that 90% of China’s population resides in 6 cities this makes them especially vulnerable to nuclear strikes.

    • Tribunal overwhelmingly rejects Beijing’s South China Sea claims

AMSTERDAM/BEIJING (Reuters) – An arbitration court ruled on Tuesday that China has no historic title over the waters of the South China Sea and has breached the Philippines’ sovereign rights with its actions, infuriating Beijing which dismissed the case as a farce.

A defiant China, which boycotted the hearings at the Permanent Court of Arbitration in The Hague, vowed again to ignore the ruling and said its armed forces would defend its sovereignty and maritime interests.

China’s state-run Xinhua news agency said shortly before the ruling was announced that a Chinese civilian aircraft had successfully tested two new airports in the disputed Spratly Islands.

And China’s Defence Ministry said a new guided missile destroyer was formally commissioned at a naval base on the southern island province of Hainan, which has responsibility for the South China Sea.

“This award represents a devastating legal blow to China’s jurisdictional claims in the South China Sea,” Ian Storey, of Singapore’s ISEAS Yusof Ishak Institute, told Reuters.

“China will respond with fury, certainly in terms of rhetoric and possibly through more aggressive actions at sea.”

The United States, which China has accused of fuelling tensions and militarizing the region with patrols and exercises, urged parties to comply with the legally binding ruling and avoid provocations.

“The decision today by the Tribunal in the Philippines-China arbitration is an important contribution to the shared goal of a peaceful resolution to disputes in the South China Sea,” State Department spokesman John Kirby said in a statement.

  7. At least 11 killed, dozens injured as trains collide in Italy

Italy train crash: 20 killed and dozens injured after horror head-on collision between two locomotives

At least 20 people have died and dozens left injured when two passenger trains ploughed into each other.

The trains crashed head on in southern Italy today, Italian newspaper la Repubblica reported on its website.

No immediate reason was given for the crash, which happened on a rail track in the middle of the countryside, north of the city of Bari in the heel of Italy.

The crash took place near the town of Andria in the Puglia region.

The president of Puglia, Michele Emiliano, says the death toll has now risen to 20.

National police and carabinieri could not immediately provide details about the extent of the incident, though some sources said as many as 10 people had been killed.

    http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/world-news/italy-train-crash-20-killed-8403500

    • A few years ago there was a large number of train wrecks close together, then they dropped back to the normal level. Now there has been two head on collisions in a couple of weeks.

Is this setting off any alarm bells in anyone else s head?

  8. Iranian military boats veer dangerously close to US warship

Boats from Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps maneuvered dangerously close to a U.S. military vessel in the Strait of Hormuz on Monday, part of a pattern that the top American general in the region—who was on the ship at the time—said risked grave miscalculation.

“What concerns me is our people don’t always have a lot of time to deal with those interactions,” said Gen. Joe Votel, head of U.S. Central Command, as he stood on the bridge of the amphibious ship later in the day. “It’s measured in minutes to really have the opportunity to make the right decision.”

The five Iranian boats included four small patrol craft and a larger boat called a Houdong fast-attack craft. At least one of the patrol boats was equipped with a .50 caliber machine gun and what is known as a multiple rail rocket launcher. They came within several hundred yards of the American ship.

The series of encounters on Monday took place as the New Orleans sailed in international waters through the strait. Gen. Votel, on a swing through the Middle East this week, voiced concern about how quickly such an encounter could turn lethal for the ship, which was carrying about 700 Marines.

    http://www.foxnews.com/world/2016/07/12/iranian-military-boats-veer-dangerously-close-to-us-warship.html

    • If you think back a few years you will remember how Iran and North Korea were whipsawing our attention, first Iran would do something and then when we got to paying attention North Korea would do something to yank our attention away from Iran.

Now look at the decision that China has no right to the Islands and fishing areas they are illegally claiming then look at how Iran is now playing chicken with the US warships in the Gulf. Is a familiar pattern developing and if so why? If the answer is yes what is Iran’s goal and what is China’s goal? Then throw the US election into the mix, if the aggressor nations are going to make a military move they will want to make it while Obama is still in office and in my opinion do so while they have several months of Obama stalling and not reacting so they can make gains before the next President takes over.

Always look for the pattern and for the logical end result of those actions the patterns show.

  9. Police: Shots fired at officers in southeast; 5 arrested after barricade in SUV

WASHINGTON – Authorities are investigating a police involved shooting that happened overnight in southeast D.C.

Officers say they responded to reports of gunfire shortly after midnight Tuesday morning on the 3200 block of 6th Street near Martin Luther King Elementary School.

When they arrived, investigators say five subjects in an SUV fired shots at officers. Officers returned fire and the subjects barricaded themselves in the vehicle.

After about 30 minutes, police say they were able to talk the subjects out of the vehicle. Two men and three women were taken into custody.

No injuries were reported in the incident.
This incident follows several acts of violence against police following the killings of black men in Louisiana and Minnesota.

  11. Breaking up America’s ‘old-consensus right’ – on the matter of Israel?

If you want a measure of the peculiarity of our time, consider this.

On Monday, our colleague and contributor Jeff Dunetz reported the new language on Israel proposed for the Republican Party platform for 2016.

The short story on it is that the new language doesn’t make explicit reference to a “two-state solution”: i.e., an affirmation that there should be a “Palestinian state” alongside the nation of Israel.

The platforms of 2004, 2008, and 2012 made such affirmations. But the committee preparing the 2016 platform’s section on Israel voted 14-2 in favor of new language, which simply affirms that the arrangement must be worked out by the parties themselves. It does not speak of a “Palestinian state” as a GOP priority.

Jeff points out that this doesn’t mean the GOP is rejecting a Palestinian state. He’s quite right. But this is clearly a major policy signal – assuming the language stands, as the platform percolates through the convention process. (See the language in the image below.)

    http://libertyunyielding.com/2016/07/12/breaking-americas-old-consensus-right-matter-israel/

    • This is another reason the voters are rebelling against the party elites in both parties.

“Voglio diventare prete e pregare a Fatima” Intervista all’attentatore turco Alì A?ca

    Dovrebbe entrare in seminario…
Conosco i libri sacri meglio di tanti altri. Il Papa mi accolga, sarò sacerdote e celebrerò messa se mi vorrà!

  14. Black Lives Matter: A Movement Built on Lies
    When facts don’t matter.

The clown show known as Black Lives Matter is akin to a paranoid maniac who: (a) dreams that his spouse is having a torrid, illicit affair; (b) then berates and beats his spouse upon waking up; and (c) finally, when reminded that it was all just a dream, becomes even more enraged at the betrayal he supposedly suffered while he slept. There’s really no point to continuing the charade of calling Black Lives Matter by the phony name it has exploited since its inception. If black lives truly mattered to the know-nothings who comprise this movement, they would have something—anything—to say about the fact that approximately 5,500 of the 6,095 black victims of homicide in 2014 were killed not by white devils, not by satanic ghouls in blue uniforms, but by other blacks. Instead, all they give us is a silent, collective yawn punctuated with a raised middle finger. So from this point forward, Black Lives Matter will be called by its correct name, “Facts Don’t Matter.”

The mouthpieces of Facts Don’t Matter say their mission is to demand “an immediate end” to “the murder of Black people” by the hordes of racists who purportedly comprise our nation’s police forces. They tell us that African Americans are a hunted and endangered species, mowed down by blue-uniformed white sadists who are animated by bloodlust, bigotry, and dreams of genocide. But wait. It turns out that of all the people who have been killed by police in the United States in recent years, about 42% were white, 20% were Hispanic, and 32% were black—even as blacks committed nearly 39% of the types of serious crimes most likely to result in a violent confrontation with police. Last year was typical: 494 whites and 258 blacks were killed by police. And what do the race-obsessed demagogues at Facts Don’t Matter have to say about this? Nothing. Facts Don’t Matter.

  15. Dallas and Progressive Moral Idiocy
Why black lives don’t really matter to the Left.

The murder of five Dallas policemen at a protest march is the gruesome consequence of the rhetorical war on police being waged by the progressive race industry. The shooter, of course, bears the primary responsibility for the killings. But a climate of opinion makes such events more likely, and those who create such a climate are culpable as well.

The justification for the war on police is that they gun down unarmed black men out of racial animus. The 2014 police shooting death of Michael Brown in Ferguson Missouri sparked a nationwide movement predicated on this popular urban myth. The Black Lives Matter movement quickly came to national prominence, instigating protests over every police shooting of a black person, and popularizing their signature chant, “Hands up, don’t shoot.”

Everything about this organization is based on a lie. Even Eric Holder’s politicized DOJ determined the Brown shooting was justified, and cleared the officer involved. Brown never put up his hands and said “Don’t shoot,” nor was he a “gentle giant,” as the race-baiters and media claimed. Nor is there an epidemic of racist police killings of unarmed blacks. More blacks than whites are killed relative to their population, but that’s a consequence of blacks being a much larger proportion of violent criminals. Race is not the issue: Whites and Hispanics are three times more likely to die at the hands of police than are blacks, and minority police officers are three times more likely to fire their weapons than are other cops. And a police officer is 2.5 times more likely to be killed by a black than he is to kill an unarmed black.

  17. CANADA – Refugee stripped of right to stay in Canada after visits to parents when marriage crumbled

Afghan native Obaidullah Siddiqui was stripped of his right to stay in Canada because he returned to his war-torn homeland to visit his parents.

Afghan native Obaidullah Siddiqui learned that the hard way when the former refugee was stripped of his right to stay in Canada because he made the mistake of going back — three times — to his war-torn homeland to visit his aging parents.

After living in exile in Pakistan for two decades, Siddiqui and his family were resettled to Canada as permanent residents by a private sponsorship group in January 2011.

But as his marriage started to crumble amid the chaos of the resettlement, the 49-year-old Surrey, B.C. man said he took three separate trips back home — two accompanied by his children — to visit his parents in Herat and to get their help in saving his marriage.

In November 2013, immigration officials initiated what is known as a “cessation application” and later stripped Siddiqui’s permanent resident status on the grounds “he was found to have re-availed himself of Afghanistan’s protection” and his life would no longer be in danger there.

As a result, Siddiqui became the first case where a sponsored refugee arriving as a permanent resident was stripped of his status, and faced removal under changes the Tories introduced in 2012 to immigration laws to make losing permanent residence automatic in such circumstances, with no discretion.

“This has broken me. I am going through extremely hard times mentally, emotionally and psychologically. I am being separated from my three lovely children and I am facing an ambiguous future,” said Siddiqui, who fled Afghanistan for Pakistan in 1987 before he came here.

“Imagine living with no status, no permission to work, not being able to be with your children and having nowhere to go.”

Siddiqui has taken his case all the way to the Federal Court of Appeal, arguing he should be excluded from cessation proceedings because he arrived as a permanent resident under the humanitarian protected person abroad class, instead of going through a refugee determination process pleading for Canada’s protection.

However, in its recent decision to reject Siddiqui’s appeal, the court said there was “no reason why the principle of re-availment and its associated criteria should vary according to the route by which status as a protected person is originally obtained.”

    ==================================================================
With the new Liberal government in power in Ottawa, the opposition New Democrats have brought forward a private member’s bill to repeal cessation provisions of the law and suspend these cases until the legislation is passed.

“No matter that the conditions of the country of origin have changed. No matter that you are going back to see a dying relative for one last time. No matter that the law did not exist at the time of travel. You are at risk of losing your permanent resident status,” said NDP MP Jenny Kwan, her party’s immigration critic.

“My bill will eliminate this unfair and unjust law created by the former Conservative government. This is a complete waste of taxpayers’ money. The government should instead redirect those resources into processing backlogs in family reunification cases.”

  18. US should cut aid to turn Pakistan into a second North Korea: Khalilzad (khaama, July 12, 2016)
    http://www.khaama.com/us-should-cut-aid-to-turn-pakistan-into-a-second-north-korea-khalilzad-01461

“A top former American diplomat Zalmay Khalilzad has said the United States should aid to Pakistan in a bid to turn the country into second North Korea, accusing the country for supporting the regional terrorism.

Khalilzad who has also served as the US Ambassador to Afghanistan has said the United States specifically the country’s lawmakers have became confident that the Taliban group and Haqqani network leaderships are based in Pakistan.

He made the remarks during an interview with the BBC and said the militant groups fighting in Afghanistan are supported by Pakistan.

The former US envoy called on Afghanistan to gather all the evidences regarding Pakistan’s involvement in the violence in Afghanistan and hand them over to the UN Security Council.
The remarks by Khalilzad comes as several senior US lawmakers are expected to ask Pakistan if it is a friend of foe of Washington.

The senior lawmakers and their witnesses including Khalilzad are going to discuss the issue during a hearing that would be jointly held by House Subcommittees on Terrorism, Nonproliferation and Trade and Asia and the Pacific.

The Afghan officials have long been raising concerns regarding the presence of the Taliban group and Haqqani network leadership councils in Pakistan.

They are saying that the two groups are having leadership councils based in both Quetta and Peshawar cities of Pakistan from where they launch attacks in Afghanistan.”

    • Wouldn’t work, Saudi would prop them up even it they had to short their own citizens, Pakistan is Saudi’s source of nukes and they want to keep them capable of building more.

        • Yup but when you plan actions like that you have to look at who is available to replace you, in this case a rich (although much poorer then it was) Sunni nations that wants access to nuclear weapons.

        • Don’t forget that politics especially international politics is the art of the possible.

In March or April 2014, a group of fighters attacked a checkpoint in Idlib province. They captured two soldiers and beheaded them, then impaled the heads on spikes.

The court found that the defendant posed with the heads for three photos, one of which was shared on Facebook. The photos also were found on his mother’s cellphone.”

“The top U.S. commander in Afghanistan said Tuesday that “some hundreds” of U.S. forces — in addition to the 8,400 that President Barack Obama announced would stay in the country last week — will be based outside Afghanistan, but will be ready to quickly deploy into the warzone if needed.

  23. French intelligence chief fears car bombs and explosives (thelocal, July 12, 2016)
    http://www.thelocal.fr/20160712/french-intelligence-chief-fears-car-bombs-and-explosives

“Car bombs and other explosives could be part of the next stage in Isis’s strategy, according to France’s top security chief.

Patrick Calvar, head of the French General Directorate for Internal Security (DGSI) has said he is “convinced” that Isis will change its tactics in France and see an “increase in power”.

In particular, he fears a move towards car bombs and explosive devices, allowing terrorists to attack without risking their own lives.

The predictions were made on May 24th at a private hearing on France’s fight against terrorism, the transcript of which was made public on Tuesday.

“We know very well that they will use these procedures; they have seen the effects of a massive operation. This happened in Belgium due to the fact that, having been caught, they could not engage in multiple attacks,” Calvar is quoted by French media as saying.

“But once they have planted pyrotechnics in our country, they can avoid sacrificing their fighters while creating maximum damage. ”

Use of this kind of explosive could mean that the group would be able to plot even deadlier attacks than those which took place at the Bataclan concert hall and restaurant terraces across Paris in November last year. Then, the attackers used a combination of machine guns and suicide belts, killing 130 people and leaving hundreds more injured.

Over two thirds of the DGSI is now involved in the fight against terrorism. Calvar said that “the greatest threat comes from people who fought and were trained in Syria and Iraq, just like those who attacked the Bataclan.”

He added that there were around 400 to 500 fighters of this type in France…”

    • BREITBART FRANCE -Intelligence Chief: Another Terrorist Attack Could Spark Civil War

The head of France’s intelligence agency has called on his government to allocate resources to the surveillance of “far right” organisations, warning the country could be on the verge of civil war thanks to public unrest over the handling of Islamic terrorism.

Fielding questions behind closed doors from the Parliamentary Select Committee inquiry into the Paris attacks in November 2015, the transcript of which has today been released, Patrick Calvar, the head of the Directorate General of Internal Security (RPS) explained that it was not just an escalation of the terrorists’ capabilities he feared, but also the subsequent response from what he termed the “far right”.

“We must absolutely not yield [to terrorism],” he told the Committee on 24 May.

“I think we will win against terrorism; I am, however, more concerned about the radicalisation of society and the basic movement that drives it. That’s what worries me when I talk with my European colleagues: we will have, at one time or another, to provide resources to deal with other extremist groups because confrontation is inevitable.”

Asked to clarify whether by “extremist groups” he meant the extreme right and left, Mr. Calvar replied: ”The far left is another matter. You will have a confrontation between the far right and the Muslim world – not the Islamists, but the Muslim world.”

It is clear that Mr. Calvar sees the right wing response to Islamic terrorism being as much of a problem as the terrorism itself, and is determined to persuade the government to share his view.

The comments made at the inquiry follow remarks he made earlier in May before the National Defence Committee, in which he again warned of a rise in nationalism and asked for more resources to police community groups dedicated to fighting Islam.

“All of Europe is in danger of rising extremism so we are, domestically, trying to put in place the resources to watch far right groups who are waiting for confrontation,” he told Parliamentarians.

“You’ll recall that I like to use direct language; well, I think a confrontation will take place.

“If another attack or two occur, it will happen. It is therefore down to us to anticipate and confound all those groups who would, at some point, spark clashes between communities.

“The temptations of populism, border closures, the inability of Europe to give a joint response, failure to adopt legislation applicable everywhere; we face enormous problems. And I note, increasingly, a tendency to turn inward.”

A police source has told French paper L’Express that Mr. Calvar has made similar remarks when talking to policing organisations. “Calvar fears a new terrorist attack, as it would prove that the state’s resources are not adequate [to prevent terrorism],” the source said. Mr. Calvar clearly believes such an event would lead to vigilantism by French patriots.

“With the rise of the Islamist risk, we have focused our surveillance on the jihadists in recent years. We have made less effort to watch the far right,” the source noted.

But Mr. Calvar acknowledges that Islamic terrorism is the major threat to French security, and has warned of that risk increasing as the terrorists gain access to superior technology.

Islamic terrorists have long tried to construct dirty bombs using medical radioactive products, and have been attempting to develop ricin attacks to instil fear and panic into Western nations, he explained. But the fall of Saddam Hussein and the Syrian civil war has put advanced weapons into the hands of terrorists.

“If given the opportunity, they will export these weapons,” he warned.

“The real challenge for them is to bring them here, especially because of the dangerousness of the products in question. So for now, they continue to use more basic attacks. [But] I’m sure they’ll move beyond the stage of bombs and car bombs, and therefore increase their power.

“They will eventually train fighters whose mission it is to organise terrorist attacks without the use of suicide devices. For this, they need bombs [capable of remote detonation] and the ability to organise the logistics, that is to say, to settle in our territory and acquire the products needed.”

“Five rapes and around 60 sexual offences have been reported at three music festivals across Sweden this summer, an “enormous” spike from previous years, according to police.

The three festivals that have hit the headlines this summer over a spate of sexual assaults, groping and rapes are the Bråvalla festival in Norrköping, Putte i Parken in Karlstad and Peace & Love in Borlänge.

Police are still investigating the alleged offences, but say the number of reports has increased this year.

“It has not been at a very large scale before, but it has been enormous now,” Leif Nyström of the Värmland police region, where Putte i Parken was organized, told the TT newswire.

Calls are now being raised for festivals to step up their security and safety measures. But Niclas Lagerstam, who is one of the people behind the Putte i Parken festival, deflected criticism…”

“Turkey has again urged NATO to change its security concept and provide support to Turkey in its endeavors against problems emanating from the Middle East, warning that European allies will face bigger problems in the future if the alliance did not take an action now.

“If NATO does not hold its responsibility today, it should comprehend that much bigger problems await Europe,” Prime Minister Binali Y?ld?r?m said during his weekly parliamentary group meeting on July 12, echoing the warning issued by President Recep Tayyip Erdo?an during the NATO Warsaw Summit last week.

Y?ld?r?m emphasized NATO’s obligations to be more sensitive in the face of rising terror and regional unrest, adding it was Turkey’s right to expect more support from allied countries in its fight against terrorism.

  28. I just read this Rep. platform statement on rrrabid-rrright Israeli site – no link, who knows – but sooo goood I have to share-

Like the United States of America, the modern state of Israel is a country born from the aspiration for freedom, and standing out among the nations as a beacon of democracy and humanity. Beyond our mutual strategic interests, Israel is likewise an exceptional country that shares our most essential values. It is the only country in the Middle East where freedom of speech and freedom of religion are found. Therefore, support for Israel is an expression of Americanism, and it is the responsibility of our government to advance policies that reflect Americans’ strong desire for a relationship with no daylight between America and Israel. We recognize Jerusalem as the eternal and indivisible capital of the Jewish state, and call for the American embassy to be moved there in fulfillment of U.S. law.

We reaffirm America’s commitment to Israel’s security and will ensure that Israel maintains a qualitative military edge over any and all adversaries. We support Israel’s right and obligation to defend itself against terror attacks upon its people, and against alternative forms of warfare being waged upon it legally, economically, culturally and otherwise.

We reject the false notion that Israel is an occupier, and specifically recognize that the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions Movement (“BDS”) is anti-Semitic in nature and seeks to destroy Israel. Therefore, we call for effective legislation to thwart actions that are intended to limit commercial relations with Israel, or persons or entities doing business in Israel or in Israeli-controlled territories, in a discriminatory manner.

The U.S. seeks to assist in the establishment of comprehensive and lasting peace in the Middle East, to be negotiated among those living in the region. We oppose any measures intended to impose an agreement or to dictate borders or other terms, and call for the immediate termination of all U.S. funding of any entity that attempts to do so. Our party is proud to stand with Israel now and always.

  29. How Democrats Destroyed the Pro-Israel Consensus

Twenty-seven Jewish “social justice organizations” recently wrote a widely-publicized open letter calling upon “political candidates to put an end to the racism, antisemitism and xenophobia” which “has emerged in this year’s campaign.”

Naturally, all Jews — and decent people anywhere — agree that racism of any form is unacceptable, and none of us approve of what these organizations describe as “hurtful characterizations of entire ethnic groups as criminals.”

All Americans can agree that “the Jewish community knows all too well what can happen when particular religious or ethnic groups become the focus of invective. We have witnessed the dangerous acts that can follow verbal expressions of hate.”

As such, it was disappointing that a radical, extremist organization such as The New Israel Fund, which openly supports a boycott of Israel, was among the organizations that signed this letter.

It is quite clear that today’s Democratic Party is not the Democratic Party of old.

The edifice is popular as the seat of the cult of Saint Lucy of Syracuse, whose remains are housed inside.

[…]The church is object of pilgrimages and wide devotion for the presence of the relics of Saint Lucy, which were carried here in 1861 when the nearby church dedicated to her was demolished. In 1955 Angelo Roncalli, future Pope John XXIII and then Patriarch of Venice, had a silver mask put on the saint’s face to protect it from dust.

The saint’s body was stolen on July 7, 1981, but was restored in December of the same year without any ransom.

  31. RT -Arab royal families, ‘wealthy princes’ must stop financing ISIS – British MPs

Britain’s Foreign Affairs sub-Committee says the Gulf States must apply legal barriers to the private financing of Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL) by unidentified members of royal families in the region, particularly Saudi Arabia.

The financial operations of royals in the Persian Gulf are vague, the committee concluded, recommending the Foreign Office “work with local partners in the region to ensure they have the capacity and resolve to rigorously enforce local laws to prevent the funding of Islamic State, so that the group cannot benefit from donations in future.”

Assessing the likelihood of Sunni royal families directly funding terrorist groups, Foreign Office Minister Tobias Ellwood called the issue “very opaque.”

“When somebody who is close to the top of a royal family is a very rich individual donor … that is very likely to happen,” Ellwood is quoted as saying in the committee report.

Foreign Office senior civil servant Dan Chugg also said when “dealing with royal families, wealthy princes and those kind of things” it is “difficult with some of these countries to know exactly what is government funding.”

“Our strategy was not to try to ascertain whose problem and whose fault it was, but to stop the funding going to Daesh [Arabic pejorative term for IS]. That was what was important. And that is what our efforts have been focused on,” Chugg told the committee.

The Gulf royal families have consistently denied funding links with IS, insisting they cooperate with the terrorist group’s adversaries.

The British government proclaimed IS a terrorist organization in June 2014, whereas Riyadh only made support for IS among Saudi Arabian citizens illegal in March 2015, the committee highlighted.

The report also lends extra weight to evidence of the dire state of IS’ finances. The group has been forced to impose the most improbable “taxes” on the populations under its control.

IS is sinking into “gangsterism and protection rackets” disguised as taxation, the report claims.[…]

[…]As for the role of the Iraqi government in damaging IS finances, John Baron MP, chair of the committee inquiry team, said Baghdad should do more to prevent terrorists from operating within Iraq’s financial systems.

“The Iraqi government must demonstrate that this terrorist organization does not and cannot generate income from inside Iraq’s financial systems – that must be transparent to all,” Baron said. The UK could provide help to the Iraqi government in this effort, he added.

“The UK’s role in the economic war against ISIL” analyzes IS revenues, “including oil production, taxation, cash storage facilities, donations and access to local and international financial systems.”

The report concludes the UK should be playing a leading role in isolating IS from the global financial system.

“This is a fluid picture. As oil and tax revenues decline, ISIL is likely to seek new sources of funding. The UK should take a leading role in international efforts to identify and target new funding streams for ISIL with a stronger role in the Counter-ISIL Finance Group currently chaired by the US, Italy and Saudi Arabia.”
