Crime, Jihad, and the left’s lack of nuance

Taking an opportunity to write about something a few degrees away from the bullseye today. The degree of important horror perpetrated on the kinder peoples of the world by Islam and leftists tend to trump and occult the subtle stuff even if the subtle material can be more meaningful in many ways than the attacks and rape gangs.

A couple of examples of the sort of stories which the original focus of this site was intended to be about, might include the story today of a muslim in Constantinople who punched a man for smoking during ramadan so hard that he was hospitalized for 9 days with a bleeding brain. The police let the religious muslim go after questioning.

And why is that story so important?

Because it is thought of as a crime when in fact it is an act of war.

A crime is something an individual does to advantage himself unfairly by exploiting a weakness in the system. And he knows it.

An act of war is intended to destroy the system and replace it with something else that the people don’t want and have no choice in. It also has no direct advantage to the attacker as a rule, unless its a classic Islamic war involving looting and sex slaves.

The attack on the smoker, like the attack on the man drinking water in Morocco during Ramadan are acts of war.

And these kinds of attacks take place all over the West. This is how sharia spreads and our civilization dies.

This next item is a lot more subtle however.

A new Catholic party has started up in France. They have influence as they managed to get massive amounts of people on the street a few years back to oppose the redefining of marriage to include same sex couples.

But the government media complex in France has labeled them to be the equivalent or worse of the Islamic State.

This can be read a lot of ways. But I find it to be an example of how the left uses lack of nuance as a rhetorical weapon.

Lets look at a news report from a self supporting and fair and honest French station. One of the last ones left anywhere:

Personally, as the expression goes, I do not have a dog in this fight. I prefer a secular state with laws based on our Greco-Judeo-Christian heritage. Where non-political religion can be practiced and espoused freely. But to compare this Catholic and traditionally French party with the Islamic State says a great deal more about the socialist government of France than it does about this party.

All I see are two forms of legal-mugging.

It reminds me of the authors of this:

    BLATZ translation
“(13) Jesus said to his disciples: Compare me, tell me whom I am like. Simon Peter said to him: You are like a righteous angel. Matthew said to him: You are like a wise philosopher. Thomas said to him: Master, my mouth is wholly incapable of saying whom you are like. Jesus said: I am not your master, for you have drunk, and have become drunk from the bubbling spring which I have caused to gush forth (?). And he took him, withdrew, (and) spoke to him three words. Now when Thomas came (back) to his companions, they asked him: What did Jesus say to you? Thomas said to them: If I tell you one of the words which he said to me, you will take up stones (and) throw them at me; and a fire will come out of the stones (and) burn you up.”

The Muslim is the Righteous Angel acting on behalf of the Heaven of Allah, and the Blind Dog User the Philosopher acting on behalf of the Socialism of Man.

What could their Jesus have said in these words, ( or sayings), to Thomas that would upset these gatekeepers so?

“I am the Son of God; I am the Son of Man; I am you.” ?

Any one of these would provoke the accusation of blasphemy or hate crime in one or both.

“I am you” being the most provocative as it remains unseen – because the drinker was thirsty and the car owner protected their property.

Their judgements are hot coals on their own heads because they defend these handed-down rights with pride and outrage, a stress level that will prematurely age these two slaves of virtue signalling.

    • So there are two Law-Dictators here:
      1. the Socio-economic Equality Act 2010 (UK) and
      2. the Religious-economic Q’ran and Hadiths

      Socio-economic Act:
“(1)The operator of a private hire vehicle commits an offence by failing or refusing to accept a booking for the vehicle—

(b)the reason for the failure or refusal is that the disabled person will be accompanied by an assistance dog.

(2)The operator commits an offence by making an additional charge for carrying an assistance dog which is accompanying a disabled person.

(3)The driver of a private hire vehicle commits an offence by failing or refusing to carry out a booking accepted by the operator—

(b)the reason for the failure or refusal is that the disabled person is accompanied by an assistance dog.

(4)A person guilty of an offence under this section is liable on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding level 3 on the standard scale.”

A law appears and waves a wand. Socialists however, don’t do hadiths and tell you about self-promoting charities lobbying and changing laws to perpetuate their own businesses.

In the UK, Guide Dog staff enjoy special caged motor vehicles to drive around in. So as some councils offer free licensing for disabled-friendly vehicles to induce operators to opt for wheelchair-adapted taxis such as the The London Taxi Company (LTI), why not animal-friendly taxis were man and beast are separate?http://www.walkdengroup.co.uk/protective_coating_for_dog_van_bedliners.html

      For Muslims:

“1. It is NOT haraam to own a dog, though it is not hygienic to keep a dog in the house.

      2. It is NOT haraam to touch a dog or any other animal. If the saliva of a dog touches you or any part of your clothing, then it is required of you to wash the body part touched and the item of clothing touched by the dog’s mouth or snout.

      3. It is incumbent upon all Muslims who own animals, whether for farming or work purposes or as pets, to provide adequate shelter, food, water, and, when needed, veterinary care for their animals. Arrangements must be made, if one is going to be away from home, to have one’s animals taken care of as well.

      4. It is haraam to keep a dog or any other animal on a short lead for long periods without food, water, and shelter. Dogs need exercise and are social creatures who form organized “family” structures in nature. Dog owners therefore need to spend time daily with their dogs.

      5. It is cruel, and therefore haraam, to keep any animal in a cage so small that it cannot behave in a natural way.

      6. Fireworks cause untold suffering to most domestic animals because of their acute sense of hearing.

      7. It is haraam to participate in any blood “sport,” like dog fighting and trophy hunting.

No animal has been cursed in any way. Animals are referred to in many instances in the Qu’ran. In Surah Kahf, mention is made of the companions of the Cave and their dog. (S18: 18-22)”

  3. Islamic State says Dhaka cafe slaughter a glimpse of what’s coming

DHAKA (Reuters) – Islamic State has warned of repeated attacks in Bangladesh and beyond until rule by sharia, Islamic law, is established, saying in a video last week’s killing of 20 people in a Dhaka cafe was merely a glimpse of what is to come.

Five Bangladesh militants, most from wealthy, liberal families, stormed the upmarket restaurant on Friday and murdered customers, the majority of them foreigners, from Italy, Japan, India and the United States, before they were gunned down.

“What you witnessed in Bangladesh … was a glimpse. This will repeat, repeat and repeat until you lose and we win and the sharia is established throughout the world,” said a man identified as Bangladeshi fighter Abu Issa al-Bengali, in the video monitored by SITE intelligence site.

Bangladesh has rejected the Islamic State’s claim of responsibility for the Friday attack and blamed it on a domestic militant group.

It was one of the deadliest attacks in Bangladesh, where Islamic State and al Qaeda have claimed a series of killings of liberals and members of religious minorities in the past year. The government has also dismissed those claims.

  4. Charter Against Islamophobia Unveiled in Canada by Rights Group

Amid what’s being described as an “epidemic” of anti-Muslim hate crimes in Canada, this new charter is a sign of hope.

Community leaders, activists and politicians gathered across Canada Monday to endorse a new charter that condemns Islamophobia, The Middle East Eye reported.

The National Council of Canadian Muslims’ Charter for Inclusive Communities condemns all acts of hatred and discrimination, as well as the exclusion of marginalized communities from fully participating in society. It calls on the government, civil society groups, public officials and Canadians to help enact policies in order to eliminate Islamophobia.

“Islamophobia is something that we need to name because it exists. It is something that we must tackle,” said Jagmeet Singh, a member of the Ontario provincial parliament, at a press conference on Monday in Toronto.

Pressing that political leaders have a responsibility to fight Islamophobia, Singh also shared that while growing up in Windsor, Ontario, he sometimes endured verbal abuse when he was mistaken for being Muslim.

“As a Sikh, my response and the Sikh community’s response is not to say, ‘No, we’re not Muslim.’ The Sikh response and the Canadian response is to say, ‘No, that’s wrong,’” Singh said.

A new survey released by the Ontario Council of Agencies Serving Immigrants, OCASI, and advocacy group Mass Minority revealed that only one-third of Ontarians have a positive view of Islam, and more than half think it promotes violence.

The Toronto Star, which reported on the survey, described the province of Ontario as having “an epidemic of Islamophobia.”

Just in June, a 25-year-old Muslim woman was spat on, punched, and had her headscarf pulled while with her infant son at a grocery store in London, Ontario.

Citing worries about the increased unsafety facing Muslim women, she said, “Before I thought it was just a statistic that I would see happen to people, but now I know it’s real and it happened to me.”

In late May in the same city, an Iranian student, Mohammad Sharifi, was beaten and verbally abused by two men.

Elsewhere throughout the country, a pig’s head was left outside an Islamic centre in Quebec City, anti-Muslim graffiti was found on the walls of a Calgary school, and Syrian refugees were pepper-sprayed in Vancouver by a passerby.

According to Statistics Canada, hate crimes against Muslims more than doubled between 2012 and 2014.

Other initiatives to combat Islamophobia have been launched, however.

In British Columbia, for instance, civil society groups launched an Islamophobia hotline to provide free legal advice to anyone who has encountered an anti-Muslim incident.

Toronto also recently launched a public awareness campaign in cooperation with OCASI, where “Muslims are part of Toronto” ads have been seen throughout the city.

Munira Abukar, a Muslim community activist in Toronto, who while running for Toronto city council in 2014 had a campaign poster defaced with the words “go back home,” is hopeful about the charter.

“To many it’s a piece of paper. To me, it’s a physical (manifestation]) of the fact that there’s hope,” she said.

  5. Double standard: 5 Americans Obama jailed for mishandling classified information

On Tuesday morning FBI Director James Comey said the words “Although there is evidence of potential violations of the statute regarding the handling of classified information, no reasonable prosecutor would bring such a case.”

Really? Since Obama took office in 2009, seven people have been charged under the Espionage Act — all for leaking classified or sensitive information. Five — John Kiriakou, Shamai Leibowitz, Jeffrey Sterling, former State Department official Stephen Kim, and Chelsea (né Bradley) Manning — got jail time.

Skipping Manning because his leak was in a category all its own, the other four shows that there are “reasonable” prosecutors who will bring charges in such cases.

Stephen Kim pleaded guilty in 2014 to disclosing a classified report on North Korea to Fox News reporter James Rosen. That was the case where former AG Eric Holder wiretapped Rosen’s parents. His lawyer said the information at issue “was less sensitive or surprising than much of what we read in the newspaper every day.” Kim spent 13 months in prison.

Jeffrey Sterling was sentenced to three-and-a-half years in May for revealing classified information about the CIA’s effort to disrupt Iran’s nuclear program to journalist James Risen (who refused to reveal his sources). Sterling was convicted of sharing information of a failed operation to give flawed nuclear blueprints to Iran, Risen revealed the operation in his 2006 book “State of War,” describing it as a mismanaged, potentially reckless mission that may have inadvertently aided the Iranian nuclear program.

Like Drake, Sterling’s revelations occurred after he tried to get Congress to act:

In 2003, Jeffrey went to the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence to voice concerns he had regarding ‘Operation Merlin,’ which he worked on while at the agency,” Holly Sterling wrote. “He had grave concerns about mismanagement of the program and potential harm to our country. This was a legal and proper channel for agency employees to voice any such concerns.”

Shamai Leibowitz, was a former FBI Hebrew translator. He was sentenced to 20 months in prison in 2010 after pleading guilty to leaking classified information anti-Israel blogger Richard Silverstein. The documents consisted of around 200 pages containing transcribed conversations recorded by FBI wiretaps of the Israeli embassy in Washington.

In an interview with the New York Times, Silverstein said that Leibowitz released the material “because of concerns about Israel’s aggressive efforts to influence Congress and public opinion, and fears that Israel might strike nuclear facilities in Iran.”

Former CIA official John Kiriakou, who served as a counter-terrorism operative, spent two years in federal prison and three additional months under house arrest. His crime? Leaking the name of a former colleague who interrogated detainees using harsh practices including waterboarding to journalists.

In 2012, Kiriakou plead guilty to leaking the identity of one of the CIA operative and is currently serving a two and a half year jail term. The charges filed against him under the Espionage Act were dropped as part of the deal.

  6. Study: Anti-discrimination law actually increases discrimination

Anti-discrimination “ban the box” laws, which prohibit employers from asking job applicants about their criminal history, may serve to increase racial discrimination by employers, a new study indicates.

The push to “ban the box” has been popular with the NAACP and the Obama administration, which have argued that this policy makes it easier for convicts to reintegrate with society. Unsurprisingly, many companies avoid interviewing job applicants with prior convictions, which makes it much harder for ex-cons to get jobs. This, reformers claim, tends to keep them impoverished and pushes them back into crime. The point of ban the box laws is to help criminals get their foot in the door and have a better chance of landing a job, since a criminal history disclosed later in the job application process is less likely to prevent a job offer.

New research indicates that ban the box laws are effective at helping criminals, but they also have a nasty side effect: increasing racial bias from employers.

The study, conducted by researchers at Princeton University and the University of Michigan, looked at the effect of the laws that took effect in New Jersey and New York. Over 15,000 fictitious job applications were sent in for over 4,300 low-skill, entry-level positions both before and after the laws took effect, in order to see what changed.

  7. Jihad watch – YouTube bans video on Muslim Brotherhood, Sharia and Civilization Jihad as “hate speech”

If a Leftist analyst who subscribes to the fantasy that the Muslim Brotherhood is a “firewall against extremism” is doing the judging, he may think that the information below is “hate speech,” while if someone who is aware of the true nature and magnitude of the jihad threat is the judge, he would more likely consider Hamas-linked CAIR’s “Islamophobia” reports to be genuine “hate speech.”

The concept of “hate speech” is, in reality, a tool of the powerful to silence and demonize their critics. It has no place in a free society. This action by YouTube is ominous in the extreme, and is almost certainly the harbinger of much worse to come.
