  1. Radicalization.

I attended a training session provided by the police on Radicalization to be able to spot a potential terrorist. Before the officer started he set the ground rules that some people might get offended and what was said in the room, stayed in the room. This was in anticipation if someone in the room then asked or expressed a non politically correct idea.

What transpired was all people were potential terrorists and things like saying a sexist joke could escalate up to say, beating their spouse and then up to a point of being radicalized. I pointed out there was no correlation, to that many Muslim bombers were well-educated, professional and were not of this characterisation. Making up for past transgressions is fulfilled in suicide killing.

He showed a picture of Anders Breivik, the murderer of the children of socialist politicians on a political training exercise next to a murderer of Lee Rigby, the young British soldier, and then equated their radicalization as exactly the same: Lone wolves.

But I explained sensitively that Anders had his own individual fear of the impending collapse and destruction of his country, while the Muslim was handed the raw 1,400 year old ideas of Muhammad’s justification of piracy using Allah the sockpuppet.

Two polar-opposite journeys to radicalization, which they both would then claim calmly that their actions were not radical but a necessity.

Yet this few hours training was supposedly to spot a rare Anders ascending, but not the many cult killers descending.

What this traing was doing was sending people out to alert the authorities of any dissent. Of anyone who argued.

To be able to point the finger at the Tea Party members with different ideas, to be able to accept that police arresting them would be a preventative measure of those on the path to radicalization, but ignore the real murderers under divine instruction; of those single mother Christian children segregated, dissociated, and indoctrinated into becoming righteous enforcers of the greater good in their neighborhoods. The very soil the welfare-government had created.

Looking at the world the wrong way round, to be unsane, reminded me of this confused presentation:

“ISLAM is not compatible with British values, according to more than half of Britons surveyed for a Muslim community.

One in three said the religion promotes violence in the UK with 72 per cent saying most people in the UK have a negative view of Islam.

Professional survey company ComRes questioned 2,012 people, chosen to be representative of the British adult population, on behalf of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community to find out more about British attitudes towards Islam.

Just 32 per cent thought Islam promotes peace in the UK.

Overall 56 per cent disagreed with the question is Islam compatible with British values.

  4. Mayor of Declining German Town Wants Migrants to Fill Gaps (abcnews, June 10, 2016)
    http://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/mayor-declining-german-town-migrants-fill-gaps-39748593

“Nestled in the foothills of Germany’s Harz mountains, Hettstedt has many points of pride: idyllic surroundings, a history dating back nearly 1,000 years and a traditional copper industry that brought ages of prosperity and prestige.

What the town doesn’t have, if predictions prove true, is a future.

Hettstedt has been hemorrhaging residents since communism collapsed in East Germany 26 years ago, stoking economic competition and giving young people newfound freedom to travel in search of adventure and opportunity. Where once 20,000 people lived, only 15,000 remain today, with the loss of another 5,000 forecast in the coming decade.

The man who hopes to reverse this demographic decline is Hettstedt’s mayor, a jovial 38-year-old lawyer with a radical idea: Why not take advantage of the influx of migrants to Germany and settle some of them here?

“I see this as a huge chance, that through migration we can become more open-minded, but also fill the skills gaps,” Danny Kavalier said in an interview at his office overlooking the medieval town square.

But Kavalier’s idea is sensitive in a region with few foreigners and strong anti-immigrant sentiment. In March, a fledgling nationalist party called Alternative for Germany received more than 30 percent of votes in the region, reflecting hostility to Chancellor Angela Merkel’s refugee policy that permitted almost 1.1 million asylum-seekers to arrive last year.

The 3-year-old party argues that the country can’t integrate hundreds of thousands of Muslims because their traditions and beliefs conflict with German values….”

  8. Russia: We will respond to entry of U.S. naval vessel into Black Sea

MOSCOW (Reuters) – The Russian Foreign ministry said Moscow would respond to a U.S. naval ship’s entry into the Black Sea with unspecified measures, saying it and other deployments were designed to ratchet up tensions ahead of a NATO summit, the RIA news agency reported.

Russian state media reported that the USS Porter, a U.S. naval destroyer, entered the Black Sea a few days ago on a routine deployment, a move it said raised hackles in Moscow because it had recently been fitted with a new missile system.

U.S. Navy officials told reporters on Wednesday the U.S. military would also have two aircraft carriers in the Mediterranean this month ahead of a July NATO summit in Warsaw as Washington sought to balance Russian military activities.

“Of course, this does not meet with our approval and will undoubtedly lead to response measures,” RIA cited Andrei Kelin, a senior Foreign Ministry official, as saying about the USS Porter’s movements.

He also said the deployment of U.S. aircraft carriers in the Mediterranean was a show of force which in his view deepened a chill in ties between Moscow and Washington caused by Russia’s actions in Ukraine and Syria.

“As regards the overall situation of course there is a definite increase and stoking of tensions in our relations,” he was quoted as saying.

“It is all being done on the eve of the Warsaw NATO summit. It is a show of force.”

  10. We’re not all Americans anymore

Let’s get this straight. It’s un-American – in fact anti-American – to do what the City of San Jose’s leadership did during the Trump rally on 2 June. The police department made no effort to prevent attacks on the Trump supporters — the mayor and police chief basically justifying their selective law enforcement on the premise that they just don’t like Trump and what he represents. (See here, here, here, and here as well.)

It’s equally un-American to do what the anti-Trump mob did. These were not “protesters”; they were a violent mob, full stop, committing acts of terrorism against peaceful rally-goers.

The mob was not waving the American flag. It was waving the Mexican flag and the “no borders” and “anarchy” flags. That matters too. It’s un- (and anti-) American. Essential to Americanism is the idea that a specially-covenanted nation – one that is not breachable by outside forces, one that is consciously different from all the nations that are less free and have less respect for their people – protects our rights and liberties. If you don’t agree with that idea, you can’t call whatever ideas are rolling around in your head American ideas. They’re something else.

More than un-American, it’s vicious, immoral, unethical, lawless, and anti-human to do what was done by the anti-Trump forces in San Jose last week – both the city leadership and the mob. But all those things make it un-American too.

Leaders on the right oddly muffled

There’s something else that’s un-American. On the right, official and establishment voices have been, to all intents and purposes, silent about this ugly development. It’s as though they can’t focus sharply enough to make a meaningful point.

The supreme point is that there can be no excuse for law enforcement to assemble, and then stand by watching peaceful citizens be attacked and do nothing. No political antipathy justifies that. Worse, policing in that manner is the pattern of banana republics, petty autocracies, dazed and confused Weimar Germanys – regimes that are about to fall to brutal, mob-driven dictatorship.

If you think it’s too incendiary to mention that last aspect of the problem, remember Reagan in 1964. He didn’t fear to be very clear about what America faced if she did not fight back against the predatory global campaign of Soviet Marxism. He didn’t fear to define the emergency.

  11. San Jose cops worried about own safety when they saw Trump supporters ‘running for their lives’

SAN JOSE — Two undercover police officers at a Donald Trump rally last week said they saw Trump supporters “get punched, kicked and pushed” and “running for their lives,” according to a police report.

The plainclothes officers said they did not intervene for fear their own safety would be jeopardized as the estimated 400 protesters developed a “mob mentality.”

The officers’ observations were included in the arrest report of Antonio Moses Fernandez, 19, of San Jose, who is accused of throwing a metal barrier into a police skirmish line following the Trump rally June 2 outside the San Jose Convention Center. Fernandez made his first court appearance Tuesday and was charged with felony assault on a peace officer with a deadly weapon and misdemeanor resisting, delaying or obstructing an officer, according to court documents.

Fernandez hung up the phone Wednesday when reached by this newspaper. He could face a sentence of five years in prison if convicted on the felony assault with a deadly weapon charge, according to the prosecutors.

“When there’s an assault on a police officer, we don’t have any tolerance for that,” prosecutor Chris Boscia said.

So far Fernandez is the only person to be criminally charged stemming from the violence that erupted outside Trump’s rally last week. Three other people were also arrested the day of the rally, including Ahmed Abdirahman, 19, of Santa Clara, and Robert Trillo, 18, both on suspicion of felony assault with a deadly weapon, and Michael Kitaigorodsky, 19, of San Jose, on suspicion of refusal to dis

  12. Turkey’s Erdogan, in US for Ali’s Funeral, Cuts Trip Short

Officials say Turkey’s president, who flew to the United States to attend the funeral of Muhammad Ali, is cutting short his visit and returning home.

His office on Friday did not give an explanation as to why Recep Tayyip Erdogan was returning early.

Private Dogan news agency reported that the Turkish leader was upset that funeral organizers rejected his request to lay a piece from the cloth covering the Kaaba, in Mecca, on Ali’s coffin. They reportedly also denied a request for Turkey’s top cleric to read from the Quran.

Erdogan attended a prayer ceremony for Ali on Thursday but would not take part in Friday’s funeral.

Erdogan and Jordan’s King Abdullah were scheduled to speak at the funeral but lost their spots when two other speakers were added later.

Erdogan pulls out of Muhammad Ali funeral following snubs

The Turkish president had reportedly been denied an opportunity to place a piece of cloth from the Kaaba on Ali’s coffin

Controversy has broken out in the run-up to the funeral of boxing legend Muhammad Ali, after Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan pulled out after being snubbed for a speaking opportunity.

Tens of thousands of people are set to mark the funeral procession of the former heavyweight champion through his hometown of Louisville, Kentucky, while free tickets for the 18,000-person funeral service at the city’s KFC Yum! Centre were quickly snapped up.

The funeral cavalcade is set to begin at 9am local time and take the coffin past his childhood home, the Ali Center, the Center for African American Heritage and then down Muhammad Ali Boulevard.

Numerous celebrities and political figures are set to attend including comedian Billy Crystal, singer-songwriter Yusuf Islam, actor Will Smith and former President Bill Clinton, who is set to deliver a eulogy.

Erdogan had initially been pushing to be able to speak at Ali’s funeral service and did attend the Islamic prayer service held on the Thursday.

However, on Friday the Hurriyet newspaper announced that Erdogan would be cutting his trip short and not attending the funeral service – a number of explanations were given, including that the president attempted to a put a piece of cloth from the Kaaba on Ali’s coffin during the funeral prayers but was refused permission to do so.

Other reports suggested he left because Erdogan and the Turkish head of the religious affairs directorate Mehmet Gormaz wanted to read an extract from the Quran at the funeral and were also denied permission.

In addition, a brief fight broke out between Erdogan’s bodyguards and a US secret service official, allegedly because the official had wanted to stand in the same place as Erdogan’s bodyguards as the president was getting into his car.

There were also rumours that the funeral might lead to a potentially tense meeting between Erdogan and his arch-nemesis Fethullah Gulen, whose Hizmet movement was last week branded a “terrorist” organisation by the Turkish government.

Ali has long maintained close relations with Turkey: on his first visit in 1976 he met with Erdogan’s political mentor, the Islamist politician Necmettin Erbekan. According to legend, Ali later remarked that “no white leader ever before embraced me” – an ironic statement, considering Erbekan’s reputation as representing the views of the “black Turks”, a term referring to the conservative, non-Westernised Turks of central Anatolia.

Nevertheless, Ali’s reputation in Turkey is thought to cut across the political divides, with Islamists, leftists, secularists and conservatives all lauding him.

Erdogan had been keen to emphasise his admiration for Ali prior to the event and an article appearing under his name in Bloomberg on Thursday praised Ali’s achievements.

“Muhammad Ali was an exceptional athlete and a remarkable human being,” said the article. “For many a sleepless night in the 1970s, I was one of countless people in Turkey who would get up in the wee hours to watch the Louisville Lip’s fights.”

Others, however, accused Erdogan of hypocrisy in praising Ali’s achievements as an opponent of the Vietnam War and conscription.

“The people who would lynch me had I said ‘Kurds did not do anything to me, why would I join the [Turkish] army?’ are praising Ali [for his stand against the Vietnam War],” said one tweeter, referring to the Turkish army’s ongoing campaign against Kurdish militants in the country’s southeast.

  13. Germany: Far-right ‘summit’ – FPO’s Strache meets AfD’s Petry at Zugspitze peak

Leaders of far-right Austrian and German parties Frauke Petry and Heinz-Christian Strache scaled Germany’s highest mountain, the Zugspitze, on Friday, reportedly meeting at the lofty location to take a look down on European politics.

SOT, Frauke Petry, Chairperson for Alternative for Germany (AfD) (German): “Many of our support circle are eager to invite the representatives of FPO and the from the other side as well. And now it’s about clarifying how we will organise it.”

SOT, Frauke Petry, Chairperson for Alternative for Germany (AfD) (German): “We were asked why the AfD and the FPO are meeting at the Zugspitze. That can be answered with an easy motto. We want to step to new political heights. Or, to stay with the Zugspitze [in German, head of the train] symbol, we want to climb these higher heights that Germany has to offer together because we believe it’s necessary that politics keep moving. And two parties in central Europe have proved last year that they have brought movement to German, Austrian and European politics. These two parties were the AfD and the FPO.”

SOT, Heinz-Christian Strache, Freedom Party of Austria (FPO) (German): “When we say we are two different parties, we have respect for each other, we are responsible for different countries but we live in a common Europe. And I want to focus on that because it is always mistakenly asserted that the parties have opposite interests in Europe or that we are parties that want to destroy Europe. That’s complete nonsense. Naturally we are profoundly locked to Europe deep in the heart, we live in the heart of Europe. That’s why we have a big interest to ensure a fruitful, safe, social fair future for Europe.”

SOT, Heinz-Christian Strache , Freedom Party of Austria (FPO) (German): “A structure that has negative developments when for instance the Schengen border can’t be held over one and half years and when we experience a big collapse in experience from our leaders, when a Maastricht treaty is not fulfilled, their own laws are broken and a debtors’ union is made out of it. Those are developments that carry lots of responsibility to be ethical. And finally to push a reform on the project of the European Union. We want a European Union back that is stronger for its citizens, where the citizens are integrated, where not all of the national decision making is given up, despite the centralisation of the European Union State. We want a federal Europe where all the national countries and the sovereignty of the national states will have the last decision in the end.”

Residents of the Italian town of Roverino rallied on Friday in protest against the decision of local administration to move refugees to a public gymnasium near a local elementary school.

SOT, Enrico Iuculano, Mayor of Ventimiglia (Italian): “We have the need to find a temporary solution only for ten days… I am telling you that we only need ten days.”

  16. A Growing Vigilante Group Targets U.S. Mosques

The Soldiers of Odin held a “patrol” at a Denver-area mosque, escalating their intimidation tactics against Muslims

An anti-Muslim vigilante group with roots in Europe is now targeting mosques in the United States with “patrols” meant to curb Islamic extremism and radicalism. Despite the group’s desire to project an image of peaceful crime fighters, however, critics warn against their rise and influence as they prey on Americans who are fearful of refugees and terrorists.

The Soldiers of Odin (SOO) deployed five members of its group to a mosque in the Denver suburb of Northglenn last Saturday to support the “right to free speech” of a lone protester who frequently demonstrates in front of the building. The protester claimed the mosque was full of Islamic extremists, so the group went on a “fact-finding/recon mission,” as they call it. Four members entered the mosque and questioned the imam, asking about the mosque’s stance on Sharia Law and whether the congregation collaborates with radical jihadi groups. One person stood guard outside.

After spending time with the imam, they found no signs of extremism. “I doubt the person protesting outside had ever been inside the Mosque,” they told Vocativ.

The meeting was cordial and polite according to the imam, who asked Vocativ not to identify him or the mosque for safety concerns.

“These guys—biker-looking guys—were standing out on the sidewalk and we decided to invite them in to break the ice,” the imam said. “They huddled up a little bit to see if they wanted to come in or not. They came in, they were very nice. They took off their shoes when they came in and we sat in a circle and talked.” He said they asked questions about Islam, had some water, and left.

The Soldiers of Odin originated in European cities last year in response to a wave of Muslim asylum-seekers coming through the EU’s porous borders. Members dress in black for their refugee “patrols,” which they claim are intended to prevent the rape and murder of white women. Critics, however, aren’t buying it—they believe the SOO’s tactics are purely designed to intimidate Muslims.

As Vocativ reported last month, the internet has enabled the Soldiers’ expansion into the United States; SOO membership has grown significantly since the movement landed on U.S. soil in February, having established chapters in 42 states. The SOO has since been monitored closely by civil rights advocacy groups like the Anti-Defamation League, which considers it to be a “hate group” due to its stance on the dangers of immigrants and Muslims, and the racist language and imagery used by many of its members on social media websites.

More Europe’s Newest Vigilante Group Lands In The U.S.

Saturday’s meeting was hailed as a success by the group. “There was no hostility at all,” according to an official SOO account of the mosque visit sent to Vocativ via email on Wednesday. “It was a peaceful visit and Q&A session…SOO even complied with the Mosques request for the patrol to take off it’s shoes.”

But on Facebook, where the group conducts most of its recruiting and communication to its more than 4,000 members, their message took on a different tone.

“We achieved our objective,” one of the group’s members, Hal Eugene Halvorson, posted on Facebook along with a description of his version of what happened. “We let them know we are here in Colorado, our eyes and ears are on them, and that we will not tolerate Radicalism and/or Sharia law anywhere in Colorado.”

It wasn’t until the imam saw Halvorson’s Facebook post about the encounter that he realized the group posed a potential threat. He said he called the Northglenn Police Department several times but never received a response. (The police department did not respond to Vocativ’s request to confirm the imam’s claim.)

Still, the vigilantes insist they are a peaceful group with a “multitude of different religious, races and financial backgrounds,” according to one of its commanders who spoke to Vocativ in May.

Their critics, however, see things differently. Several of SOO’s U.S. members are also part of other racist groups like the Ku Klux Klan and the National Socialist Movement, which is the country’s premier band of neo-Nazis. One SOO member, Jacob Laskey, was convicted of a federal hate crime in 2006 for an attack on an Oregon synagogue, according to the ADL.

“This vigilante ‘patrol’ from the Soldiers of Odin USA—in which they appear to have targeted a mosque, even entering it and allegedly interrogating an imam there—shows that the group is becoming more aggressive as it organizes itself,” said Mark Pitcavage, a senior research fellow with the ADL’s Center on Extremism. The SOO now has a website, and continues to recruit new members via-social media campaigns. In previous “patrols,” SOO members have just walked the streets. Saturday was one of the first times they have specifically targeted a mosque. And it won’t be the last.

“There are patrols and surveillance on Mosques happening all over the United States currently,” the SOO said. “If members are invited into the Mosques as guests it is at the discretion of the commanding member to authorize or refuse that invitation.”

The SOO claims they want to partner with the mosques to combat extremist Muslims who may want to do harm to Americans.

“SOO hopes to make the peaceful Muslims in America aware that there are people ready to stand with them in the face of Radicalization, while at the same time making radicals who might have already infiltrated the Mosques aware that there are people who are armed and ready to confront them and their criminal ways in a moments notice! SOO will not stand for radical Islam nor Sharia law in the United States of America,” the group said in an email to Vocativ.

Pitcavage worries that despite the toned down public persona the group seeks that their tactics will only escalate further.

“Their ‘patrol’ also confirms a concern that the Anti-Defamation League has had from this hateful group’s inception—that, with a lack of easily identifiable ‘refugees’ to target, the Soldiers of Odin USA would instead turn to targeting Muslims in general,” he said, adding that the mosque in Colorado and its congregation “are hardly likely to be the only Muslims in the U.S. targeted by this new hate group.”

  17. Lawsuit alleges terrorist’s mother knew of planned San Bernardino attack

Minnesota Life Insurance Co. is alleging in a federal lawsuit that the mother of San Bernardino mass shooter Syed Rizwan Farook knew of her son’s planned terrorist attack and should not be entitled to $275,000 in life insurance benefits.

The lawsuit, filed Wednesday in U.S. District Court in Riverside, alleges Rafia Farook was living in the Redlands apartment with her 28-year-old son, a San Bernardino County health inspector, and his wife, Tashfeen Malik, at the time of the Dec. 2 attack at the Inland Regional Center.

Clad in black tactical gear and armed with assault rifles, Syed Farook and Malik entered the IRC conference center about 11 a.m. and opened fire on a crowd of about 70 people, killing 14 and wounding 22 in what the FBI called the deadliest terrorist attack on U.S. soil since 9/11. Thirteen of the 14 people killed and most of the wounded were Farook’s coworkers at the county’s environmental health services division, who were attending a training seminar and holiday party the morning of the shooting.

“Minnesota Life is informed and believes that Ms. Farook had material knowledge of, and/or participated in, the planning of the terrorist attack executed by the insured,” according to the 6-page lawsuit, which names Rafia Farook, Saira Khan, who is Syed Farook’s sister, and the U.S. government as defendants.

Neither Rafia Farook nor Saira Khan have been charged criminally in connection with the attack.

During a search of Farook’s and Malik’s Redlands apartment following the shooting, FBI agents seized pipe bombs, bomb-making materials and thousands of rounds of ammunition.

“Minnesota Life is informed and believes that FBI agents found bomb making materials in the garage, including explosive powder consistent with the explosive powder used in the IED found at the site of the attack and other bomb-making components,” the lawsuit states. “Minnesota Life is therefore uncertain as to whether it is obligated to pay a death benefit to a beneficiary who had material knowledge of, and/or participated in, the planning of the terrorist attack executed by the insured.”

Cristyn Chadwick, an attorney representing Minnesota Life in the litigation, said Thursday in a brief telephone interview she could not say if the insurance company had any additional information proving its allegations against Rafia Farook.

As to Syed Farook’s sister, Saira Khan, Minnesota Life “lacks information or belief as to her involvement in the terrorist attack,” according to the lawsuit.

Rafia Farook could not be reached for comment Thursday.

FBI spokeswoman Laura Eimiller and Los Angeles U.S. Attorney’s Office spokesman Thom Mrozek both declined to comment on the lawsuit Thursday.

In January 2012, Syed Farook took out a $25,000 life insurance policy, designating his mother as the primary beneficiary and Khan as the contingent beneficiary. In July 2013, he took out a supplemental life insurance policy for $250,000, also naming his mother and sister as the primary and contingent beneficiaries, respectively, according to the lawsuit.

Both insurance policies were issued under San Bernardino County’s group life insurance policy.

In June 2015, about six months before the attack at the IRC, Syed Farook logged into the county’s employee benefits website and confirmed his life insurance coverage and beneficiary designations, according to the lawsuit.

On May 31, the Los Angeles U.S. Attorney’s Office filed a civil asset forfeiture lawsuit in Riverside in an effort to seize the life insurance money and use it for the surviving victims of the attack and the family members of those who died. Federal prosecutors were expected to make another filing in that case Thursday.

Minnesota Life noted the government’s asset forfeiture action in its lawsuit, stating, “By reason of actual or potential conflicting claims to the proceeds from defendants, and each of them, Minnesota Life does not know and cannot determine the person or persons legally entitled to the death benefit.”

  18. BREITBART – Explosive Video Claims Google Is Manipulating Search Results To Favor Hillary Clinton

Earlier this week, we reported on accusations that Google is in cahoots with the Clinton campaign. Now, an explosive video from SourceFed claims that the company – which holds a virtual monopoly on search – is actively altering search recommendations in favour of the presumptive Democratic nominee.

    • Elderly Voter Never Thought She’d Get To See Female Presidential Nominee Called Heartless Ice Bitch During Her Lifetime

FAIRFAX, VA—Tearing up as she reflected on the significance of Hillary Clinton being named the presumptive Democratic candidate, 85-year-old voter Deborah Hanson told reporters Wednesday she never thought she’d get to see a female presidential nominee be called a heartless ice bitch during her lifetime. “When I was growing up, things were so different—it just didn’t seem possible that I’d live to see the day when a woman would be selected to top a major political party’s ticket while incessantly being called a shrieking harpy,” said the retired schoolteacher, adding that even decades of advocating for women’s equality hadn’t fully prepared her for the reality of actually being able to cast her vote for a woman described by critics on social media as a rotten old cunt who’s so fugly it was no wonder her husband slept with other women. “I’ve never forgotten that when I was a little girl, people said a woman could never be president, and now look how far we’ve come. To be so close to seeing the first woman who’s alternately labeled both a lying whore and a psycho feminazi bimbo occupy this nation’s highest office, and to watch her make important decisions about this country’s future that would be relentlessly criticized as being the product of hysterical menopausal rages, would be nothing short of amazing.” Hanson told reporters that while she understood the concerns of younger liberal women who oppose Clinton’s candidacy, she hoped they would recognize how hard so many generations of American women had fought for a day when one of their own could become the most powerful person referred to as a frumpy, frigid bull dyke in the nation.

Their arrogance is unbelievable, they do everything thing they can to insure that the US in unable to protect ourselves and then act like we have to be stupid to think their actions are criminal.

  19. Germany: Overcrowding worries Nuremberg mosque as no. of Muslim worshippers skyrockets

The Islamic Community of Nuremberg (IGN) were concerned over the large numbers of believers entering its mosque for Friday prayers, as overcrowding at the site becomes a serious issue. The mosque has reportedly received record numbers of worshippers in recent months, with a growing Muslim refugee community in the city purportedly explaining the site’s increased popularity.

More than 1,000 believers have gathered to join daily prayers at the mosque, with Ramadan, which commenced on June 6, also leading to increased numbers. The wife of the Chairman of the mosque Mustafa Eljojo, De Mitri-Eljojo, noted they “don’t want to exceed this number” because of “the security reasons.”

SOT, De Mitri-Eljojo, wife of Chairman of mosque Mustafa Eljojo (German): “We are a multicultural mosque. Around 40 different nationalities are represented here. And our common language is German.”

SOT, De Mitri-Eljojo, wife of Chairman of mosque Mustafa Eljojo (German): “More than 1,000 believers come here to pray each Friday. But speaking about our capacity, of course, we don’t want to exceed this number because of security reasons. We don’t want to exceed this number. We are in contact with Nuremberg officials to find an general solution.”

    http://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/eu-insists-turkey-safe-country-migrants-39758466

“European Union nations say Turkey is a safe country for migrants to be returned to despite some Greek court rulings that people should not be sent back there.

Dutch Migration Minister Klaas Dijkhoff said Friday after chairing EU talks in Luxembourg that “we consider Turkey safe for returning migrants.”

He said “there is no blanket decision by the Greek authorities that it is always possible, or never,” for people to be sent back. Dijkhoff said that means Turkey cannot be considered unsafe.

The EU and Turkey have agreed that all migrants arriving on the Greek islands after March 20 can be sent back, unless they have a right to asylum in Greece.

The EU has offered Ankara a large package of incentives to stop people reaching Europe.”

“Radical claims published by a Turkish newspaper allege that Germany was involved in the most recent bombings in Istanbul. Experts say the reports highlight the declining state of media in Turkey.

The Turkish daily newspaper “Günes” alleged earlier this week that the June 3 bombing in Istanbul, which saw 11 people killed, was an act of German retaliation following Turkey’s indignation to the recent vote on the Armenian genocide in the German Bundestag, the lower house of parliament. The tabloid published a front-page image with the headline “German handiwork,” stating that Germany was in “panic mode” after Turkey’s reaction and therefore resorting to financing attacks in Turkey, presumably to divert attention…”

“A new debate about the lengths to which Danish schools should accommodate Muslims has been spurred by a school’s decision to ban praying.

A Muslim student at SOPU Hillerød, a school for health care and pedagogical assistants in a northern Copenhagen suburb, recently went on Facebook to protest against the school’s decision to ban all praying during school hours.

She posed for a photo holding a sign that read: “New from the director. May one pray at SOPU Hillerød? The answer is NO!”.

“My friend received a letter from the leadership of our school, SOPU Hillerød, today that said she can no longer pray during school hours,” Mia Victoria Lunderød Hansen wrote in a public post. “We students don’t think this is right and therefore we’ve gone around the school collecting signatures.”

“A situation like this should be taken care of [because] we believe that everyone should be treated equally,” the post continued.

That post quickly spread across Facebook, spurring hundreds of comments from those who both cheered and denounced the school’s decision…”

    http://www.thelocal.at/20160610/austria-no-eu-deal-with-turkey-over-visas

“A deal to allow Turks visa-free entry to the EU as part of a wider accord with Ankara on curbing the migrant crisis cannot be completed by the July 1 deadline, Austria said Friday.

“I do not think that the first of July is feasible,” Austrian Interior Minister Wolfgang Sobotka said as he arrived for a meeting with his EU counterparts in Luxembourg.

“We really need to have a legally flawless solution. If not, Austria cannot agree,” said Sobotka, whose country took in record numbers of refugees last year, mostly from war-torn Syria.

The European Union agreed in March to offer Turkey visa free access by July 1, increased aid and speeded up accession talks in return for Ankara controlling the flood of migrants crossing into Greece.

But Ankara warned late last month it would drop the whole agreement if there was no visa deal after the European Commission laid down a series of conditions, including changes to Turkey’s catch-all anti-terrorism laws so as to meet EU concerns over human rights.

Dutch Interior Minister Klass Dijkhoff said separately the EU was working closely with Turkey on the issue but “it is not a negotiation process”.

“If Turkey wants visa liberalisation, they know the requirements they should meet,” said Dijkhoff, whose country currently holds the EU’s six-month presidency…”

  37. Army reserve officer threatens to kill Muslims at North Carolina mosque

Authorities say Russell Thomas Langford left bacon at the mosque, brandished a gun and made a series of threats

An army reserve officer left bacon at a mosque and brandished a handgun while threatening to kill Muslims and “bury them behind the mosque”, North Carolina authorities said on Friday.

The series of threats began on Thursday afternoon when members of the mosque in Raeford noticed open packages of bacon near one of the entrances, according to a Hoke County sheriff’s office news release.

Advocacy groups say pork is often used to insult Muslims because their religion doesn’t allow them to eat it.

Members of the Masjid Al Madina mosque saw a Chevrolet Tahoe leaving the parking lot, and the vehicle later followed one of them home. The person tried to evade the car but couldn’t.

Later the suspect, Russell Thomas Langford, 36, was back at the mosque about 20 miles south-west of Fayetteville and made death threats, authorities said. No injuries were reported in the news release.

“He told people at the mosque that he would kill them and bury them behind the mosque,” said Capt John Kivett of the sheriff’s office. “He brandished a weapon while he was on the property. He brandished a handgun.”

Kivett said that Langford was a major in the US army reserve.

A mugshot of Langford shows him wearing a green shirt with a military-style rifle on it, along with close-cropped hair and a prominent tattoo resembling the US flag on his right forearm.

Authorities found several handguns and other weapons, along with 500 rounds of ammunition in Langford’s vehicle, Kivett said. He said Langford did not make specific threats about a mass shooting other than to say he wanted to kill mosque members.

Langford, who lives in Fayetteville, was charged with ethnic intimidation, assault with a deadly weapon, going armed to terror the public, communicating threats, stalking and disorderly conduct, the sheriff’s office said.

He was taken to the Hoke County jail.

The threats come during the holy month of Ramadan. The Washington-based Council on American-Islamic Relations said the act constituted a desecration of the place of worship.

The group issued a statement saying: “bigots often use pigs or pork to offend Muslim sensibilities.”

The council said the man Langford followed home was himself a Muslim chaplain at Fort Bragg. Kivett said that resulted in the stalking charge. A message left for a man identified as the victim by mosque members was not immediately returned.

The Washington group asked authorities to investigate the case as a possible hate crime and increase patrols around the area, especially during nighttime Ramadan activities.

A patrol car was parked at the mosque on Friday before noon prayers.

  38. UK – Troll who said Muslims should be ‘nuked’ cries in court as he apologises

A man who said all Muslims should be ‘nuked’ on social media was reduced to tears in court.

Gary Farrimond, from Wigan, also said he wanted to ‘burn’ the Quran in a string of Islamophobic messages he posted on Facebook under the alias ‘Gary Gaz Farrimond’.

Tess Kenyon, prosecuting, told Wigan Magistrates’ court in Manchester that Farrimond had been posting vile comments on the Facebook group, ‘No more economic migrants in the Britannia hotel’.

In one post, the court heard he published an image of a Trojan horse with Isis on its forehead and Syrian refugees on its body, accompanied by the tag, ‘is the refugee crisis an Islamic invasion?’

Kenyon said another post read: ‘They will turn our churches into mosques. I’m after a copy of the Quran so I can burn it.’

And another read: ‘All foreigners teach their kids to hate the English, let’s do this with our own’.

In further racist messages, Farrimond said he’d offer bungee jumping to Pakistani people with ‘no strings attached’, and said the sooner Muslims ‘get nuked’ the better.

Melissa Fagan, mitigating, told the court Farrimond was ‘ashamed of his actions’.

She said: ‘He is a relatively simple man. He feels someone duped him. He was brought into all of this by another man who befriended him.

‘The defendant has had to live with what he has done.’

After the hearing, Farrimond said: ‘This is not what I’m about. I have been through a lot. This has really knocked me. I’m very sorry to anyone offended.’

The 49-year-old was handed a 12-month community order with 100 hours of unpaid work.
