  1. Israel acts reasonably, gets criticized by Muslims and sjw’s. Yes, I know you think you’ve heard this before – but this is a new instance:

TEL AVIV – Defence Minister Avigdor Lieberman on Thursday ordered the bodies of Palestinians killed by security forces not be returned for burial, as Israel clamped down after a deadly shooting in Tel Aviv.

A spokesman for Lieberman confirmed the order, his first major decision related to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict since the hardliner took office on May 30.

Israeli officials argue funerals for attackers often turn into rallies that promote further violence.

Palestinians and rights groups say the measure, used in the past, amounts to collective punishment and feeds into anger over Israel’s occupation of the West Bank.

  2. ERBIL, Kurdistan Region (Kurdistan24) – In a joint statement on Tuesday, Peshmerga forces and NGOs declared the town of Jalawla in Diyala Province safe after defusing nearly 900 bombs planted by jihadists.

Jalawla is a Kurdish town located in southern Diyala Province. The so-called Islamic State (IS) took control of the area in the middle of June 2014.

In November 2014, Peshmerga forces attacked the area from five fronts and liberated it from the insurgents.

  3. President Obama formally endorses Hillary Clinton for president: ‘I don’t think there’s ever been someone so qualified to hold this office’

Obama endorses Clinton for president: ‘I’m with her’

Obama congratulated Clinton “for making history as the presumptive Democratic nominee” in the video posted to YouTube and her website.

“She has the courage, the compassion and the heart to get the job done. and I say that as someone who had to debate her more than 20 times.”

Obama praised Clinton for accepting a spot in his cabinet despite their own tough primary fight, declaring: “I”m with her, I am fired up, and I can’t wait to get out there and campaign for Hillary.”

He won’t have to wait long.

Clinton’s campaign announced that the pair will campaign next Wednesday in Wisconsin. […]

    • All those S-300 missiles must form a pretty darn effective “No Fly Zone”… Obama capped procurement of the F-22 Raptors to 198, so if we go into Syria and begin loosing F-22s, it would be slow catastrophe for the USAF. But since Obama will be gone by Jan 2017, it won’t be his worry, huh?

      • Trump can uncap the number but thanks to the lead time in producing them it will take several years to catch up on what we should have and with no replacements being build we are in a world of hurts.

The only good thing is that we have been here before and have pulled ourselves out of the mess, we can do it again if we have to.

ISRAEL – Tension Rises on Temple Mount as Israel Police Block Ramadan Meals

Police prevent Waqf Muslim trust vehicles from entering Temple Mount compound, probably in retaliation for Waqf blocking a police car earlier in the day.

U.S. Urges Israel Not to Punish Innocent Palestinians for Tel Aviv Attack

When responding to the terror attack, Israel should take into consideration ‘the impact on Palestinian citizens that are trying to go about their daily lives,’ U.S. State Department says.

Israel’s response to Wednesday’s gun attack in Tel Aviv should be designed in a way that does not punish innocent Palestinians, the U.S. State Department said on Thursday.

“We understand the Israeli government’s desire to protect its citizens … and we strongly support that right, but we would hope that any measures it takes are designed to also take into consideration the impact on Palestinian citizens that are trying to go about their daily lives,” State Department spokesman Mark Toner told a news briefing.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu responded by saying that the “attack was carried out by people who don’t value life.” Lieberman, who was installed as defense minister last week, said: “This is not the time for declarations, but we will do what is required.”

  5. The Judge in the Trump University law suit is involved with La Raze who it turns out has a lot of members who are translating La Raza as the master race.

Trump Is Right to be Suspicious of Judge
And sorry, lefties: “La Raza” means “Master Race.”

Donald Trump has every right to question the impartiality of a “pro-Mexican” judge presiding over the Trump University lawsuit and doing so does not make him a racist or a bigot of any kind.

The stampede of weak-kneed Republican office-holders tripping over each other in a frenzied rush to denounce the presumptive GOP nominee for president shows how the Left’s pathological ideas about race continue to dominate the thinking even of so-called conservatives who ought to know better. Yell “racist!” and Republicans run for the hills.

As Pat Buchanan opines, “[t]o many liberals, all white Southern males are citizens under eternal suspicion of being racists. The most depressing thing about this episode is to see Republicans rushing to stomp on Trump, to show the left how well they have mastered their liberal catechism.”

To recap, the real estate magnate has said that U.S. District Judge Gonzalo Curiel, an Indiana-born U.S. citizen whose parents emigrated from Mexico, is issuing unfair rulings against him in a high-profile class-action lawsuit. Trump claims the trial judge’s prejudice relates to his promise to crack down on illegal immigration and build a wall along the border with Mexico to keep illegal aliens out.

Curiel ordered that internal documents from Trump University be made public. The ruling caused elation among reporters, including 20 from the Washington Post who are digging for dirt about the candidate, as they began fantasizing about winning the Pulitzer Prize for taking down a Republican presidential candidate.

      • try putting up 2 or 3 paragraphs, enough to give people the idea of what the article says so they can click over if they want.

        • Okay. Here’s a bit to give a flavor:

“I ask again—why do they insist upon using the term la raza?

Well, my friends, there is a reason. And the NCLR tells us in the second paragraph of the aforementioned document THE TRANSLATION OF OUR NAME:

“The term `La Raza` has its origins in early 20th century Latin American literature and translates into English most closely as `the people` or, according to some scholars, as `the Hispanic people of the New World.` The term was coined by Mexican scholar José Vasconcelos to reflect the fact that the people of Latin America are a mixture of many of the world`s races, cultures, and religions. Mistranslating `La Raza` to mean `the race` implies that it is a term meant to exclude others. In fact, the full term coined by Vasconcelos, `La Raza Cósmica,` meaning the `cosmic people,` was developed to reflect not purity but the mixture inherent in the Hispanic people. This is an inclusive concept, meaning that Hispanics share with all other peoples of the world a common heritage and destiny.

Aha ! Now we have something much more concrete!

By NCLR`s own admission, if we want to know what it means by la raza, we can see what Jose Vasconcelos meant by la raza.

(In a similar fashion, those who wish to know Barack Obama`s racial ideology can read Obama`s own writing, or read Steve Sailer`s book America`s Half-Blood Prince since Steve read and analyzed Obama`s autobiography.)

Jose Vasconcelos was a Mexican intellectual who lived from 1882 to 1959. He was, at various times, Mexico`s secretary of education, the president of Mexico`s national educational institution the UNAM (National Autonomous University of Mexico), and an unsuccessful candidate for president. See photos here and here.

In the 1920s Vasconcelos penned his seminal essay La Raza Cósmica (The Cosmic Race) which NCLR cites. The la raza doctrine was influential not only in Mexico—Vasconcelos traveled throughout Latin America sharing it. Several decades later, in 1948, he revised his essay and re-published it.

  6. strong>USA – State Department Commissions Superhero Cartoons For Pakistan

A Department of State program is soliciting pitches for an animated superhero TV show that would air in Pakistan.

The Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement (INL) announced a grant award of no more than $1,250,000 for a two-season superhero show “to promote security and stability in Pakistan,” according to a government notice posted Wednesday.

“Key to this new character’s success will be that he/she possesses a local, indigenous persona, fully immersed in Pakistani culture,” the announcement stated. The show’s superhero character is intended to be a positive role model for youths between the ages of 14 and 25. The project description notes that more than 100 million Pakistanis — the majority of the country’s population — are under 25.

The show must be engaging for viewers and encourage “counternarcotics, gender equality, the role of police in civil society, a fair criminal justice system, anti-corruption [and] religious tolerance” to be selected.

Superhero cartoons tackling social issues have become enormously popular in the past several years. The award-winning 2013 cartoon series “Burka Avenger” attracted attention for tackling the Taliban’s opposition to educating young girls. While the 2015 cartoon “3 Bahadur” depicts a team of 11-year-old superheroes who save their community from a violent gang. The creator of “3 Bahadur,” Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, said she hopes to “engage, empower and motivate today’s youth.”

“If youth are exposed to a character that models socially positive behaviors and values, then they are more likely to adopt those values and behaviors, making it less likely that they accept or promote extreme ideological views. Therefore, special emphasis needs to be placed on informing, educating, and positively influencing Pakistani youth, as they will shape the future of the country,” according to INL’s Wednesday notice.

The U.S. government previously worked extensively with Disney during WWII to create war films, emblems and propaganda for the war effort.

The grantee will need to create two seasons of an animated cartoon consisting of 13 episodes, 11-minutes each, as well as promotional clips and broadcast costs. The grant announcement also encourages partnership with other financiers to complete the project.

  7. AUSTRIA – Islamist jailed for sharing Al-Nusra propaganda

An Al-Qaeda militant who worked as an interpreter on the German-Austrian border has been jailed for two years in Austria for sharing fundamentalist propaganda.

The 29-year-old man entered the country as an asylum seeker and managed to get a job working as a translator in the Bavarian town of Freilassing.

But he was arrested for being an Al-Nusra Front militant when photos were found on his phone during a security check which showed him wearing combat gear and wielding a machine gun. Islamist propaganda texts were also found on the device.

The man claimed that he had only taken the pictures on his phone so that he could escape from Syria by pretending to support the Islamist cause.

When asked if he used them for propaganda or anything else, he denied it and said he didn’t even properly understand how Facebook worked, insisting that he was a pacifist.

But the court heard that the images had been shared by the man on his Facebook page despite him claiming he did not understand how the social media platform worked. They found that he had also boasted to other people from his homeland that he had fought in Syria.

The man was escorted by heavily armed guards for a court appearance this week during which he was convicted of being a member of the terror organisation Al-Nusra Front.

The court heard that the incriminating material included promotional literature for the Al-Nusra Front, otherwise known as al-Qaeda in Syria.

He apparently joined the terror organisation in 2013 and then was sent to Austria in October last year.

  8. Outrage Over Special Labeling for French Passports of Jews on Aliyah; Residence Listed as ‘Israel/Palestinian Territories’

Prominent Jews expressed outrage this week over new French Foreign Ministry “software” that lists the residency of French citizens who made aliyah as “Israel/Palestinian Territories” in their passports.

“Grotesque” is how Nidra Poller – an American Jewish intellectual who has been living in France for more than four decades — described the move. “French citizens living in Israel have to move over and make room on their passports for those Palestinian territories that the French pretend to cherish,” she told The Algemeiner.

Author, most recently, of The Black Flag of Jihad Stalks La Republique, Poller placed the labeling of passports in a broader context of French policy in relation to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

“France voted in favor of giving the Palestinians the Temple Mount, the Kotel (Western Wall), the tombs of the Patriarchs. At the World Health Organization summit, French representatives joined in the call to investigate Israel for so-called ‘abuses of mental, physical and environmental health.’”
