“”Sisters on Saturdays and Sundays only.” A Muslim shopkeeper’s sexist opening hours falls foul of the law in France.

A Muslim shopkeeper has been fined €500 ($560) for ordering different opening hours for men and women at his store in the French city of Bordeaux, his lawyer said Tuesday.

Jean-Baptiste Michalon, the owner of a general store and who converted to Islam in 2012, created an uproar when he pasted a notice outside the shop in June 2015 indicating different shopping hours for men and women.

“Sisters” were invited to shop on Saturdays and Sundays only, while “brothers” were told they could shop on week days.

Michalon quickly abandoned the plan faced with a swell of negative reaction, and his shop has since closed its doors.

“We put this in place at the request of the sisters who preferred when my wife was behind the counter. It is a shop where we sell clothes,” Michalon told AFP at the time….”

Assayid made the comments on Tuesday at a press conference in Madrid. During the event he added that even if the Security Council extended the mandate U.N. peacekeeping mission in the Western Sahara – known by its French acronym of MINURSO – it would not be enough to guarantee the continuation of the ceasefire between the Front and the Moroccan government….”

  6. Ohio Sheriff in Wake of Mass Murder: “If You Are Fearful, Arm Yourself”
By Philip Hodges April 26, 2016

Pike County Sheriff Charles Reader in Ohio told residents in a press conference that if they’re fearful, they should arm themselves. His statements came in the wake of the shocking mass murder of eight Pike County residents – all members of the same family – who were all shot in the head, execution style.

All eight mass murder victims were identified as being part of the same family, the Rhodens. Their bodies were found at four different scenes. Seven adults and one teen were among the victims. Three young children – including a 4-day-old baby – were found among some of the crime scenes and were still alive.

The story took a turn when it was revealed that throughout the course of the police investigation, there were hundreds of marijuana plants found among the four pieces of property. Some of the plants were indoors. The police have not indicated whether the mass murder had anything to do with marijuana. However, according to WSAZ, “Marijuana seizures are common in Pike County, where authorities said a 2012 seizure could be connected to a Mexican drug cartel.”
