  1. EU wants control of OUR welfare state: Brussels’ secret plan REVEALED (express, Apr 11, 2016)
    http://www.express.co.uk/news/politics/659840/EU-wants-control-your-pension-Brussels-secret-plan-revealed-David-Cameron

“THE European Union is planning a power grab for the UK welfare state in a bid to take control of pensions, benefits and the minimum wage.

Senior MEPs fear Brussels is planning a “social union” but legislation is being held back until after June’s referendum.

Already plans for a common European unemonth by Commissioner Marianne Thyssen and would start with the eurozone countries but would see other EU members put under strong pressure to join.

The concerns have been highlighted by Tory MEP David Campbell Bannerman who has said that the European Commission is holding back a massive amount of centralising legislation until after the referendum.

While David Cameron claims that the concessions he negotiated would make Britain exempt from any further Brussels centralisation, opponents have pointed out that if a British government signs up to a new “social union” then Britain would be stuck with it.

Yesterday Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn made it clear he and his party wanted a social union with the EU.

He said: “We want people to vote to remain in the EU so that we can develop a social Europe.”

In her speech last month, Ms Thyssen, the Belgian Commissioner in charge of social affairs, discussed a consultation on a “social union” which will be open until the end of the year, describing it as vital “for Europe to be successful in the future and, equally important, to remain credible for European citizens”.

She said: “This Commission is seriously committed to working towards a social triple A for Europe.

“We deliver proposals to address the concrete concerns of the people and we present a broad, holistic vision for a futureproof European social model.” ….”

  2. Brussels and Turkey ‘secretly agree to fly 250,000 migrants into Europe EVERY YEAR’ (express, Apr 11, 2016)
    http://www.express.co.uk/news/world/659857/Brussels-europe-EU-European-Union-Turkey-agree-250000-migrants-Europe-every-year

“A SECRET plan devised by Brussels could see countries in the European Union take on 250,000 migrants from Turkey every single year.

EU bureaucrats have already made a £6billion agreement with Ankara to take one Syrian migrant for every migrant sent to Turkey.

But the latest deal could see migrants flown directly from Turkey to countries in the EU, including Britain.

The mass movement of migrants to Europe in the secret deal is set to kick in during the next few months, officials have claimed.

Gerald Kanus of the European Stability Initiative told German press: “The Turkish side expects the Europeans to begin taking about 250,000 Syrians a year in a few weeks so.”

The report claims the shocking figure is not official but that a verbal agreement has been made between EU officials and the Turkish government.

Mr Kanus said the migrants moving from Turkey to Greece would stop before the deal takes place.

He claimed the EU will redistribute migrants “fairly” after flying them over from Turkey….”

  3. REVEALED: Muslim extremist organisation ‘claims south London mosque is its overseas base’ (express, Apr 11, 2016)
    http://www.express.co.uk/news/uk/659858/Khatm-e-Nubuwwat-Muslim-Extremist-group-south-London-Stockwell-Mosque-Ahmadi

“A MUSLIM extremist group which calls for the deaths of members of a minority sect has allegedly claimed a south London mosque as its overseas base.

Worshipers at the Stockwell Green mosque have reportedly received leaflets demanding the killing of heretics.

The mosque was being used by Khatm-e-Nubuwwat (KN), a sectarian organisation which targets Ahmadi Muslims, according to an investigation.

KN held its annual conference at Stockwell mosque last year and even names the address as its overseas office on its website.

In most cases, KN regards Ahmadi Muslims as heretics who should be killed, according to Human Rights Watch.

The group does not inflict violence itself, but it reportedly provides the environment for other people to.

The leaflets found in the building are said to have labelled Ahmadi Muslims apostates, claiming they deserved to die.

One allegedly said: “All possible efforts should be made to clarify the doubts of someone who abandons Islam, otherwise he should be given the punishment of capital punishment.”

It comes as tensions involving the Ahmadis in Britain grow after a Glasgow shopkeeper was allegedly stabbed to death by a Muslim….”

But this controversial practice of “triple talaq” is now facing a stiff challenge – the Supreme Court is considering whether to declare it unconstitutional, writes the BBC’s Geeta Pandey in Delhi….”

  6. Afghan soldiers desert as Taliban threatens key Helmand capital (CNN, Apr 11, 2016)
    http://edition.cnn.com/2016/04/11/middleeast/afghanistan-helmand-taliban-soldiers/index.html

“Sometimes you know a war’s going badly when your enemy is right in front of you.

About three miles outside the southern city of Lashkar Gah, Afghan soldiers can see a white flag. It’s not one of surrender — quite the opposite.

The flag belongs to the Taliban, and shows exactly how close the militant group is to the capital of Helmand Province.

Despite Afghan government assurances that the army can hold and retake ground, the strategic province that hundreds of NATO troops died fighting for is closer than ever to falling to the Taliban…

The Afghan army is losing troops to more than death: desertion is rife within the ranks.

CNN met two deserters in Helmand whose stories show the breadth of the problem, who have taken their skills — months of U.S. taxpayer-funded training — to the Taliban….”

    • Warning on ‘UK Muslim ghettoes’: Nation within a nation developing says former equalities watchdog (dailyamil, Apr 11, 2016)
      http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3533041/Warning-UK-Muslim-ghettoes-Nation-nation-developing-says-former-equalities-watchdog.html

“British Muslims are becoming a nation within a nation, the former equalities watchdog warns today.

Trevor Phillips says many hold very different values from the rest of society and want to lead separate lives.

Most worryingly, those with separatist views are far more likely to support terrorism. The former head of the Equality and Human Rights Commission advocates the monitoring of ethnic minority populations on housing estates to stop them becoming ‘ghetto villages’.

He says schools may have to consider a 50 per cent limit on Muslim or other minority pupils to encourage social integration.

And he says disturbing survey findings point to a growing chasm between the attitudes of many British Muslims and their compatriots.

In a no-holds barred article for the Daily Mail ahead of a television documentary on Muslim attitudes in Britain, Mr Phillips also warns:

      Extremist ideas have flourished while politicians claim ‘only a tiny minority hold dangerous views’;

      An estimated 100,000 British Muslims admit having sympathy with suicide bombers fighting injustice;

      Many believe it is divinely ordained that a woman should always obey her husband;

Large numbers ‘do not accept the values and behaviours that make Britain what it is’.

Mr Phillips’ intervention comes after he was asked to analyse the findings of a major survey on Muslim attitudes in the UK, which will form the basis of Channel 4’s documentary, What British Muslims Really Think, which airs on Wednesday night.

The documentary will portray the UK’s Muslims as a nation within a nation that has its own geography and values…”

  8. Iran says Russia delivers first part of S-300 defense system

DUBAI (Reuters) – Russia has delivered the first part of an advanced missile defense system to Iran, Iranian media reported on Monday, starting to equip Tehran with technology that was blocked before it signed a deal with world powers on its nuclear program.

The S-300 surface-to-air system was first deployed at the height of the Cold War in 1979.

In its updated form it is one of the most advanced systems of its kind and, according to British security think tank RUSI, can engage multiple aircraft and ballistic missiles around 150 km (90 miles) away.

Russia’s agreement to provide Iran with S-300 has sparked concern in Israel, whose government Iran has said it aims to destroy.

In a recorded transmission, state television showed Foreign Ministry spokesman Hossein Jaber Ansari telling a news conference on Monday: “I announce today that the first phase of this (delayed) contract has been implemented.”

Ansari was replying to reporters’ questions about videos on social media showing what appeared to be parts of an S-300 missile system on trucks in northern Iran.

Russia says it canceled a contract to deliver S-300s to Iran in 2010 under pressure from the West. President Vladimir Putin lifted that self-imposed ban in April 2015, after an interim agreement that paved the way for July’s full nuclear deal.

The U.S. military has said it has accounted for the possible delivery of the S-300 to Iran in its contingency planning.

  9. France announces aid to youths to defuse ‘Up All Night’ tensions

PARIS (Reuters) – The French government announced about half a billion euros in aid for students on Monday in an attempt to defuse anger from protesters who said they would gather again on a central Paris square for the 12th night in a row.

The “Nuit Debout”(Up All Night) movement has brought thousands of young mainly left-wing voters to the Place de la Republique, venting their frustration against various policies of President Francois Hollande’s socialist government.

Street protests that initially started against a draft labor reform bill, have broadened out to other issues.

“The government is listening. It understands the youths’ worries,” Prime Minister Manuel Valls told student organizations, announcing subsidies for young graduates looking for a job and other aid for apprentices and students, worth a total of 400 million euros-500 million euros ($455.16 million-$568.95 million).

Just hours before Valls met youth and student leaders to try to defuse tensions, police moved along about a hundred “Nuit Debout” protesters remaining on the Place de la Republique without incidents.

Police also cleared out huts and improvised vegetable gardens but plans for fresh protests on Monday night were immediately announced.

“Our garden, our libraries, our huts… You can destroy all that but you cannot destroy our dreams,” a tweet from the ?movement said, showing a picture of the square being cleared out.

  19. The head of Germany’s domestic intelligence agency said in an interview published Sunday that security officials had misjudged the Islamic State group’s ambition to sneak terrorists into Germany under the guise of asylum seekers.

In an interview with the German newspaper Welt am Sonntag, Hans-Georg Maassen, head of Germany’s Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution, or BfV, admitted there had been a “misjudgment” regarding the Islamist group’s strategy.
ntelligence officials at first believed it was unlikely that terrorists would enter Germany among migrants, he said.

“We thought that the risk was simply too high,” Maassen said according to quotes translated by DW. “Although they did not need to mix their people among the refugees, they did it.”
He described the infiltration strategy as “a show of force.”
The intelligence chief made another surprising admission – that some 70 percent of refugees entering Germany did not arrive with a valid passport and have been registered based solely on the information they provided.
“I am concerned that we (the BfV) and our partner agencies may, in fact, have information about dangerous individuals saved in our databases. However, we might fail to notice that they are here because they enter with false identities,” he said.
Maassen called the security situation in Germany “very serious” given that the Islamic State group aims to carry out attacks. At the same time, he said he had no knowledge of a concrete attack plan.
His remarks came after the Islamic State released a video last week threatening London, Berlin and Rome.
He estimated that there are some 1,100 Islamists in Germany who could pose a terrorist threat.

Steve Sailer gives us the real Barack Obama, who turns out to be very very different — and much more INTERESTING — than the bland healer/uniter image stitched together out of whole cloth this past six years by Obama’s packager, David Axelrod. Making heavy use of Obama’s own writings, which he admires for their literary artistry, Sailer gives the deepest insights I have yet seen into Obama’s lifelong obsession with “race and inheritance,” and rounds off this brilliant character portrait with speculations on how Obama’s personality might play out in the Presidency.

  20. APRIL 09 2016 – Britain First faces brutal attack by Islamists in East London!

Today, Britain First held a peaceful, silent protest outside the notorious East London Mosque.

Within 20 minutes, around 150 aggressive Muslims assembled who promptly attacked our activists, stealing expensive camera equipment, and inflicting violence on our activists.

  21. Geller: UK “Equalities” Chief Admits He Was Wrong, Muslims Won’t Assimilate

In one of the most extraordinary admissions of defeat in modern times, Trevor Phillips, the former chief of Britain’s Equalities and Human Rights Commission (EHRC), has admitted that the path that Britain has been on for years is a catastrophic failure. Muslims won’t assimilate and become loyal Britons.

Phillips wrote: “For a long time, I too thought that Europe’s Muslims would become like previous waves of migrants, gradually abandoning their ancestral ways, wearing their religious and cultural baggage lightly, and gradually blending into Britain’s diverse identity landscape. I should have known better.” Instead, he wrote, Muslims are creating “nations within nations” in the West.

It is astonishing that any member of the ruling elite would admit defeat and state what is painfully obvious to any rational human being who for the last few years has been watching the disintegration of the Western mores and law in the wake of Muslim immigration.

Muslims are the only immigrant group that comes to Western countries with a ready-made model of society and government (sharia) which they believe to be superior to what we have here, and they work to institute it.

The question is, now that Phillips has spoken up and stated the truth, what will the UK do now? Continue to jail those who speak critically of jihad and sharia? Or will the UK begin shutting down mosques that incite Muslims to wage jihad?

Will it prohibit hate preachers from speaking on UK college campuses, and instead invite my colleagues? Will Muslim immigration from jihad nations be halted? Will sharia courts be shut down?

This admission of defeat is all the more remarkable coming from Phillips, who popularized the term “Islamophobia” in Britain. As I explained in my book Stop the Islamization of America, the very word is a fictional construct. It was popularized deliberately by a Muslim Brotherhood front organization, the International Institute for Islamic Thought (IIIT).

  22. Saudi TV Host Rips Into ‘Hypocrites’ Who Say Terrorists ‘Do Not Represent Islam’

A Saudi television host had harsh criticism for Muslims — specifically those in the Arab world — who insist that terrorism does not represent their faith, calling them “hypocrites.”

Saudi columnist and television anchor Nadine Al-Budair said in a recent monologue that in the wake of the Brussels attack, it was time for Muslims to own up to elements of their faith that encourage followers to commit terrorist attacks.

“After the abominable Brussels bombings, it’s time for us to feel shame and to stop acting as if the terrorists are a rarity,” she said, according to a translation from the Middle East Media Research Institute.

“We must admit that they are present everywhere, that their nationality is Arab, and that they adhere to the religion of Islam,” Al-Budair said as she pointed her finger at an education system that enforces memorization of hardline Salafist texts and where schools and universities “told them the others are infidels

  23. Police Shocked By Scale Of Islamic State Network in Europe

Police have uncovered a large and growing network of Islamic State fighters, at least two of whom came to Europe as “refugees.”

French and Belgian authorities have found that the scale of the threat of terrorism could be much bigger than they had previously thought. They’ve found that the members of these terror cells are mostly young Muslim men from the Brussels suburbs of Molenbeek and Schaerbeek and many were former criminals often involved with petty thefts and assaults.

Among the jihadis is Paris attacker Abdelhamid Abaaoud. Islamic State fighters in Syria gave him the name Abu Omar al-Belgiki meaning that he was Abu Omar from Belgium. Abaaoud lived most of his live in the notorious Brussels suburb of Molenbeek along with many of the other terrorists who took part in the Paris and Brussels attacks.

The 28-year-old terrorist lived and fought for the Islamic State in Syria for at least two years, took part in various battles and sent video messages to sympathizers back home. Abaaoud, also like many ISIS fighters, is said to have committed atrocities toward prisoners such as dragging them behind his pick up truck through the Syrian desert reports Die Welt.

  24. Free Speech on Trial: What Message Is Being Sent?

    by George Igler
    April 11, 2016 at 5:00 am

The spread of jihad is irreparably undermining Europe’s post-War reputation as a continent of security and peace.

In addition, free speech seems increasingly regarded by mainstream politicians as dangerous and archaic. Diversity of opinion often appears seen as an obstacle to multiculturalism, the objective of which, ironically, is diversity.

These dual trends are set to come to a head in the Netherlands next year, in elections set to follow the conclusion of the trial of Dutch MP Geert Wilders this November. Wilders is the leader the Netherlands’ Party for Freedom (Partij voor de Vrijheid, or PVV), which currently tops the country’s polls. He faces imprisonment on a charge of hate speech, for saying that the Netherlands could use “fewer Moroccans.”

As Wilders outlined in his opening statement to the court on March 18, the politically-motivated bias against him of one of the judges is a matter of public record. Moreover, despite ample demonstration by Wilders’s defense of the forgery of a group of the criminal complaints that initiated his prosecution, his trial nevertheless continues.

This miscarriage of justice being orchestrated against Wilders is merely one aspect of the many prosecutions being carried out under laws less about prevention and punishment of actual crimes, and more about criminalizing dissent against the demographic transformation of Europe.

Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei last month used the Persian New Year holiday (Nowruz) to deliver his most comprehensive plan for Iran’s economy. His address, proclaimed from his hometown of Mashhad, outlined ten principles of the “Resistance Economy.”

From this speech, it is clear that Khamenei’s plan for Iran’s economic recovery is quite different from that of President Hassan Rouhani and his cabinet. Moreover, Khamenei threw down the gauntlet that he would hold Rouhani responsible for a failure to produce promised improvements in Iran’s economy. Left unsaid but implied was the threat that if Rouhani fails to adopt a “Resistance Economy” approach, it would negatively impact the President’s aspirations for a second term.

  26. Turkey: Saudi King Salman welcomed by Erdogan ahead of Syria talks

Saudi Arabian King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud was welcomed by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan upon his arrival at the Esenboga Airport in Ankara, Monday.

The Saudi Arabian leader arrived in the Turkish capital to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries. A special escalator was placed to assist the king in descending from the plane ahead of his welcome by the Turkish president.

    • Deutsche Welle – Prosecuting Böhmermann satire could ‘cost Merkel the chancellery’

Turkey is asking Germany to prosecute a satirist who made fun of its president. No matter how Merkel decides, experts say she can’t win. She’ll either offend an important diplomatic partner or alienate German supporters.

Jan Böhmermann has probably never received this much attention in his entire life. The German comedian is at the center of a controversy surrounding the question of what qualifies as satire and how far the limits of free speech stretch.

On Monday, the German government announced it would look into Turkey’s request to prosecute Böhmermann for a taunting poem the satirist presented in his weekly TV show, “Neo Magazine Royale.” In it, Böhmermann called Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan a “zoophile,” accusing him of sleeping with goats and beating up girls, Christians and Kurds.

In his show, the comedian said that the poem he was about to read would be illegal and that he wanted to show what satire is and isn’t allowed to do in Germany. The law in question prohibits insulting foreign heads of state. One of its particularities is that the German government, and not the state prosecutor, has to decide whether to take up criminal proceedings.

      ‘Lose-lose situation for Merkel’

I find it problematic that the government, which is not part of the judiciary, has to make this decision,” political scientist and journalist Frank Überall told DW. “Government politicians are stuck in this intricate diplomatic web and decisions like this one have no place in that.”

The diplomatic spat between Turkey and Germany comes at an especially inopportune time. 🙂 🙂 🙂 For Chancellor Angela Merkel, Turkey is an important partner in the refugee crisis. The EU and Erdogan’s government agreed on a deal in March that sees Turkey taking back refugees that entered the EU illegally via Greece. In return for Turkey’s help, the European Union will restart talks with the country about joining the EU.

Critics of the deal had already complained that by entering the agreement, Merkel would make herself too dependent on Erdogan, a man whose regime has recently made news by shutting down newspapers and arresting government-critical journalists.

Even foreign politicians have entered the discussion. Former Greek finance minister Yanis Varoufakis has proclaimed his support for Böhmermann, despite having been the butt of his jokes many times in the past.

Now Erdogan is putting Merkel on the spot.

“It’s a lose-lose situation for Merkel,” Alexander Kissler, media researcher and journalist with political magazine “Cicero,” told DW. “She either loses face with Turkey or she loses face domestically if she agrees to prosecute Böhmermann.”

      Fateful phone call

German broadcaster ZDF, the channel where “Neo Magazine Royal” airs, has deleted the poem from its online media center. Merkel tried to calm the waters, too, by calling Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu on Sunday. That information was released publicly, including her quote that the poem was “deliberately offensive.”

“That call was a big mistake, especially making it public,” Kissler said. Her “attempt to tame Turkey” failed and everyone could see it.

On Monday, Merkel’s spokesman said the government would take a few days to look into the issue before deciding whether Böhmermann should be prosecuted. Kissler sees this statement as a diplomatic gesture, but says that eventually, Merkel’s government will have to deny Turkey’s request. “Anything else could cost Merkel the chancellory,” he said.

An overwhelming majority of social media users in Germany supports Böhmermann, so Merkel would indeed face domestic outrage should she agree to criminal proceedings. Twitter user Gräfin Kerssenbrock, for example, called the German government’s stalling a “complete failure.”

      Two different kinds of satire

Frank Überall worries that the heated discussion about satire is taking attention away from what is actually going on in Turkey.

“Journalists are in court solely for doing their job,” Überall said. “This is unacceptable.”

In March, another TV show made fun of Erdogan’s anti-free-press regime, changing the lyrics of a popular German pop song to criticize the Turkish president’s autocratic policies. The music video shows Erdogan’s absurdly large palace and state violence against protesters. When “Erdowie, Erdowo, Erdogan” was released, Germany’s ambassador in Ankara was called in to the foreign ministry. But this instance of satire wasn’t followed by a request for prosecution.

“The difference between the two is that the first is a pop song ridiculing Erdogan’s self-presentation and his way of governing, while Böhmermann is personally attacking him, calling him a sexual pervert,” Kissler explained.

Überall makes another distinction. “I personally found the song funny and didn’t find Böhmermann’s poem funny,” he said. “But this is not about personal opinion. It’s a legal question.”

A third German comedian is jumping on the Erdogan satire train as well. Didi Hallervorden has released a song called “Erdogan, report me, too!”

  27. Germany: Bavarian minister warns of ‘islamist’ threat, enrages reporter by not answering question

Bavarian Interior Minister Joachim Herrmann warned of a growing threat of terrorism by so-called ‘islamists,’ while presenting the Bavarian state agency intelligence services report for 2015 in Munich, Monday.

SOT, Joachim Herrmann, Interior Minister of Bavaria (German): “Germany is the target of terror-attacks by Islamist perpetrators and groups, like other European countries.”

SOT, Joachim Herrmann, Interior Minister of Bavaria (German): “Two bombers of the attacks in Paris on November 13th, came to Europe through the refugee influx using faulty IDs.”

SOT, Joachim Herrmann, Interior Minister of Bavaria (German): “This feeds the fear that IS fighters are being purposefully planted under refugees entering [Europe].”

SOT, Joachim Herrmann, Interior Minister of Bavaria (German): “Bavarian security agencies have collected evidence about islamists who are disguised as refugees with possible jihadist backgrounds.”

SOT, Joachim Herrmann, Interior Minister of Bavaria (German): “In security terms, just like last year, we are extremely worried about the widely uncontrolled entering of unregistered persons to Germany.”

SOT, Joachim Herrmann, Interior Minister of Bavaria (German): “Some islamist clusters called for approaching asylum seekers and refugee housing, to make contact to win more followers for the islamist ideology with the help of the trust that had been generated.”

SOT, Christian Jung, journalist (German): “The minister wants to represent the freedom of press. Mr minister, why do you not want to answer one single question? Is it because it is getting too critical for you?”

SOT, Christian Jung, journalist (German): “What is your problem, why am I not allowed to ask a question like everyone else? Article three of the constitution about equality. Everyone is allowed to ask a question. It is about freedom of speech, it is about freedom of the press. You come up here and want to brilliantly defend this constitution and are not even capable of letting someone ask a question, who came forward, did not get verbally abusive until now, but now it is also advisable. So may I now ask a question?”

SOT, Spokesperson (German): “There will be bilateral questions like we usually do it, and you usually have the chance to speak, but-”

Christian Jung, journalist (German): “I do not want to have the chance to speak at some point, I want to have the chance to speak now. I have the right to attend any press conference as a reporter. As a reporter I have to be treated equally, otherwise my permission to attend is nonsensical!”

SOT, Christian Jung, journalist (German): “I do not want to ask you [to spokesperson] the question, I want to ask it here at the press conference, which is the normal procedure.

  29. BULGARIA -Citizen’s arrests of migrants sparks protest in Bulgaria

A citizen’s arrest of three illegal migrants sparked controversy in Bulgaria on Monday, with rights groups protesting while the government refrained from condemning the practice.

Amateur video footage broadcast on several Bulgarian televisions and in social media showed three men lying on the ground, their hands tied behind their backs as someone shouts: “Go back to Turkey!”

Border police who arrived at the scene found the three unhurt and with their hands free.

Such arrests have happened increasingly in recent weeks, targeting migrants arriving through the border with Turkey in a move denounced by the Bulgarian branch of the Helsinki Committee (BHC) rights group.

“These images (show) the most brutal citizen’s arrest so far in Bulgaria. The prosecution must open a probe immediately,” BHC president Krasimir Kanev said, warning that a failure to act by the authorities would only encourage such acts.

But the authorities’ reaction has been ambiguous.

“This is.. illegal,” border police chief Antonio Angelov told private bTV television in comments a week after he handed out certificates of appreciation to another vigilante group for intercepting some 20 migrants near the border with Turkey.

Prime Minister Boyko Borisov also expressed his thanks to the group’s leader in a telephone call. “The state belongs to all of us, whoever wants to help (protecting it) is welcome,” he said on Monday.

But the BHC denounced such rewards as “unacceptable”, warning that Bulgaria risked turning “into a cradle of Balkan fascism”.

Bulgaria, which has so far remained on the sidelines of Europe’s worst migration crisis since World War II, is concerned that the closure of the western Balkans migrant route could see increasing numbers of people trying to cross its territory.

To prevent an influx, it has sped up construction of a 132-kilometre (82-mile) fence along the Turkish border and holds regular army and border police training sessions along the frontier in a show of force.

According to a survey published last week, 60 percent of Bulgarians see migrants as “a threat to national security” and 51 percent would not like to work with or live next door to a migrant in a country which is the poorest in the EU.

    =============================================================

Bulgaria’s Border Police chief has described the scenes on an amateur video of migrants being captured by private citizens and forced back to Turkey as “somewhat illegal”.

The video, watched by many people since being posted on social networks and in the Bulgarian media, shows three young men forced to the ground and their arms bound behind them with plastic packaging ties.

The video was posted on the Facebook page of one of the men involved in the capture of the group.

On the soundtrack, a man is heard saying, in a mixture of English and Bulgarian, “Turkey! Back! Go back! Back, Turkey! Now!”.

It is not clear where the video, apparently shot with a phone and which jerks back and forth showing the men on the ground, was shot. Reports said that the profile of the man who allegedly made the video said that he was from Bourgas.

The comments on the video by Border Police chief Antonio Angelov on April 11 came a day after Bulgaria’s Prime Minister was quoted in Bulgarian-language media reports as having praised the actions of private citizens who have taken it on themselves to capture and expel people crossing the border into the country illegally. They also came some days after Angelov was reported to have given an award to a group involved in migrant-hunting.

Borissov, added, however that those who take such actions should “not exceed their rights”.

The Prime Minister was reported to have said that he had talked to people involved in the “volunteer groups” capturing migrants and had thanked them personally.

“I sent the director of Border Police to meet with them, so as to co-ordinate the signals and what they need. The state is ours, together. Anyone who helps deserves only a ‘thank you’,” Borissov reportedly said.

Border Police chief Angelov said that in Bulgaria, detention of people could be carried out only by authorities with police powers, acting on the orders of prosecutors and judges.

He said that in the past day, 97 people had been detained while trying to cross the border illegally into Bulgaria.

Angelov said that he and his subordinates could not control the “volunteer corps” because Bulgarian citizens were entitled to be in the country’s border zones.

He added that those seeing people crossing the border illegally should not try to stop them themselves but should contact the police.

The most prominent “migrant hunter” is Dinko Vulev of Yambol, whose vigilante actions have been the subject of various media reports and have led human rights watchdog the Bulgarian Helsinki Committee to lodge a complaint against him at the Prosecutor’s Office.

The Bulgarian Helsinki Committee, in an open letter to Interior Minister Roumyana Buchvarova on April 8, said that it was extremely unacceptable that Border Police chief Angelov reportedly had, two days earlier, presented an award to the vigilante group “Organisation for the Protection of Bulgarian Citizens”.

The letter described the organisation as ultranationalist and said that according to its website, in its short existence since mid-2015, it had carried out several anti-minority actions, directed against Roma people, migrants and Muslims.

The Bulgarian Helsinki Committee said that such actions not only should not be rewarded, but should be punished under Bulgaria’s Penal Code. It critised Angelov for what it described as abdicating duties to lawless groups.

“What kind of leaders are those that allow and even encourage such usurpation of their statutory powers?,” the letter said.

The committee noted that in early March, it had reported Vulev to prosecutors.

It called on Buchvarova to make a clear public statement that crossing the Bulgarian border to seek asylum was a right enshrined in the country’s constitution, not a crime under the Penal Code.

  30. Germany: First Cologne NYE sexual assault suspect on trial in Dusseldorf

A 33-year-old Moroccan man, who allegedly sexually assaulted a teenage girl on New Year’s Eve in Cologne, went on trial to face the charges at the State and District Court of Dusseldorf, Monday.

SOT, Marcel Due, judge of the State and District Court of Dusseldorf (German): “The defendant is accused of physical injury, property damage and sexual assault against an 18-year-old woman from Dusseldorf on New Year’s Eve 2015/2016. The defendant together with 15-20 other men allegedly surrounded the girl, and then he pushed and groped her. After that he allegedly touched the girl’s genital area under the skirt. The same people had allegedly conducted the same actions previously.”

SOT, Marcel Due, judge of the State and District Court of Dusseldorf (German): “It is the first case of alleged sexual assault from New Year’s Eve here in the court of Dusseldorf. At the moment there are no other cases connected with the sexual assaults from New Year’s Eve in the court of Dusseldorf. I don’t have any information on the same cases in other German states’ courts and I’m not able to provide you with information on the development of such cases if there are any.”

SOT, Marcel Due, judge of the State and District Court of Dusseldorf (German): “The court has determined four days for the court hearings – today is the first day. It has not been clear yet whether the court will deliver a final judgement at the end of these four days. It will be determined whether further hearings are needed during these court days.”

  31. BREITBART – Beirut Airport Employees Arrested on Terrorism Charges

Lebanese authorities arrested two Beirut airport employees on suspicion of aiding and abetting “terrorist parties,” security sources confirmed to Reuters on Sunday.

The Lebanese news media reported that the car of one of the detainees was loaded with explosives.

The pan-Arab Asharq Al-Aswat daily cited an “official Lebanese source” saying the airport employees work for a private contractor that provides ground services for civil airplanes. The source told the newspaper that the two were allegedly in contact with a terrorist group, but the source did not name the group.[…]

  33. BOMBSHELL REPORT: Berlin ‘Lost To Arab Clans’ Now Recruiting ‘Physically Strong Young Migrants’
Berlin’s criminal underworld has been “lost to Arab clans” according to a new report published by the mainstream German newspaper Die Welt.

The report, which reveals how Arab migration has transformed Berlin’s entire criminal landscape, exposes how extended migrant families, now recruiting new migrants, run the entirety of the city’s organised crime.

The report speaks of the ‘amazing’ sight of luxury sedans cruising up to refugee, asylum centre, and migrant lodgings filled with “people who have lost everything.”

Investigators reported that the criminal gangs have “exploited the situation” of the migrant crisis, in which German Chancellor Angela Merkel’s policies saw well over a million migrants from the third world world settle in Europe last year.

The source explained that “young and physically strong men” are targeted by the gangs and then used for “dirty work” like burglaries, drug trafficking, and fights with criminal competitors. Child refugees are also welcomed as their faces are unknown to the police.

Despite the prospect of arrest, or even going to prison, many of the new arrivals are willing to take the risk as it is unlikely they will be deported.
    …………..
Despite all efforts Jacob says it’s “extremely difficult to penetrate” these extended families as they are “solid structures” that can be cracked “only through lengthy and costly investigations.” Describing problems policemen run into when faced with the clans’ criminal machinations he says if for example, a family member of a competitor is knocked down or seriously injured with a knife, officials have little time to secure the testimony of witnesses.

“Because,” Jacob explains, “very quickly the family turn and manipulate the witness, they are either bought or threatened. After, we learn nothing more.”

The “great families of the city” also control the majority of prostitution in Berlin. Prostitutes must pay the Arab clans a demurrage “otherwise there are beatings”, pimps must pay protection money, and pressure has recently been growing too on the small apartment brothels dotted over the German capital.

What is most startling about the revelations is that it sounds like few areas of business in the city are free from these families’ criminal grasp with “hardly a hookah bar operator spared from extortion”.

      • There were probably left over fragments of the German organized crime families and some Russian Mob. The speed that the immigrants take over the organized crime tells us how civilized the old organized crime families were. In the states the Italian and Irish mobs in the North East were much more civilized then people realize, they had learned the open violence is bad publicity and causes police crack downs. The Russian Mobs were for the most part lead by former KGB people who were use to being the police and thus used violence quicker. The ones from the Middle East tend to make the Russian mobs look peaceful.
