  2. League slams plan to decriminalize illegal immigration (ansa, Jan 8, 2016)
    http://www.ansa.it/english/news/2016/01/08/league-slams-plan-to-decriminalize-illegal-immigration_e9fa933a-3633-4242-be01-23d659b68616.html

“(ANSA) – Rome, January 8 – A decree depenalising illegal immigration is expected to go before cabinet on January 15, government sources said Friday. Being an undocumented immigrant became a crime in 2009 under Silvio Berlusconi, and talk of abolishing that law sparked an outcry from his erstwhile governing coalition partner – the rightwing anti-immigrant Northern League. League Lombardy Governor Roberto Maroni tweeted to “prepare for an invasion” while League chief Matteo Salvini wrote on his Facebook page that his party would launch a referendum “against this shameful thing”.

The vast majority of asylum seekers fleeing war in Africa and the Middle East are trafficked in, and do not have proper visas when they arrive – usually in Greece and Italy, whose outlying islands are the first landfall for the unsafe migrant boats sailing from Libya and Turkey.

National antimafia prosecutor Franco Roberti said the current law making illegal immigration a crime “hinders investigations” and prevents the speedy identification of human traffickers. “The data shows (the law) hasn’t had a dissuasive effect thus far,” he said. Foreign Minister Paolo Gentiloni said new arrivals fleeing war and Islamist fundamentalist persecution in their homelands should receive European-wide asylum – not asylum specific to the EU country they first enter, as stipulated by the Dublin Regulation. “We risk sacrificing Schengen on the altar of Dublin,” said Gentiloni, referring to the common visa policy among 26 European countries that abolished passport checks at their internal borders. “The European Union is like an apartment building where everyone fights with their neighbors, except for when they all fight together against the one who watches over the entrance, in this case Greece,” Gentiloni said. The foreign minister also said that “for those who don’t have the requisites to be taken in, repatriation should also be a European task”.

Interior Minister Angelino Alfano said depenalising illegal immigration would send the wrong message at a time of heightened public concern over security in the wake of the bloody Islamist terrorist attacks in Paris in November. It would send “a negative message for the perception of security at a very particular time for Italy and Europe,” he said. “The crime of clandestine immigration is not a single-party issue,” said Alfano, who was justice minister in the Berlusconi administration that criminalized illegal immigration in 2009.

MP Roberto Speranza from the ruling center-left Democratic Party (PD) tweeted Friday that there should be “no step back on abolishing the crime of being illegal. Politics cannot let itself be guided by fear. Especially today”. Speranza is from a dissenting leftwing minority within the PD.”

“(ANSA) – Rome, January 8 – Undersecretary for European Affairs Sandro Gozi on Friday said that migrants who come to the European Union must respect its shared values or risk expulsion, responding to the reports of attacks on New Year’s Eve in Cologne which German police on Tuesday said were committed by men of “Arab or North African appearance”.

“Here, the Quran comes after the Constitution, here women are equal to men and aren’t imprisoned inside a burqa,” Gozi said.

“These are the values that must be respected by those who want to come here. Those who don’t respect them must be expelled,” he said.

“Those responsible for the horrendous crimes in Cologne are unworthy of being a part of our community”.

The number of victims who have reported crimes or attacks from New Year’s Eve in Cologne has risen to 200, said the online version of German daily Spiegel on Friday, adding that “many of the reports are of sexual molestation”.

German police on Friday identified 31 suspects in the crimes and released their nationalities, adding that 18 of them are asylum seekers.

Police said the suspects are nine Algerians, eight Moroccans, four Syrians, five Iranians, one Iraqi, one Serbian, one American, and two Germans.”

“At least 23 fanatics of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) terrorist group were killed in separate airstrikes by the Afghan Air Force (AAF) in the past 24 hours, the Ministry of Defense (MoD) said Saturday.

A statement by MoD said the fanatics of the terror group were killed in Achin and Kot districts of eastern Nangarhar province.

The statement further added that the airstrikes were carried out in coordination with the 201 Silab Corps of the Afghan National Army (ANA) forces.

The Afghan Air Force (AAF) used Mi-17 and MD-530 combat helicopters to target the militants, MoD said, adding that the first group was targeted in Kot district where 11 fanatics of the terror group were killed and 5 others were critically wounded.

At least 12 others were killed in the separate airstrike in the vicinity of Achin district and 7 others were wounded, MoD added.

Nangarhar is among the relatively volatile provinces in eastern Afghanistan where anti-government armed militants both from the ISIS terrorist group and Taliban group are actively operating.

The ISIS fanatics have recently increased to their insurgency activities in different parts of Nangarhar province as the terror group aims to establish a regional base in this province.”

“Friday was one of the deadliest days for Daesh and Taliban in eastern Nangarhar province.

Earlier reports suggested that dozens of militants were killed in airstrikes but an official says that 16 others were killed in internal clashes of the insurgent groups.

Spokesperson for the police headquarters of Nangarhar said the clashes erupted in Dago, Sangini and Kariz areas of Chaparhar Distirict on Friday.

Colonel Hazrat Hussain Mashriqiwal added that 13 fighters of Daesh and three from Taliban were killed in these clashes.

According to Col. Mashriqiwal, 11 other Taliban also sustained injuries in the gun battles.

The clashes erupt the same day Daesh beheaded six Taliban in Achin District of Nangarhar.

Nangarhar has become the battle ground for Taliban and Daesh where they have announced ‘Jihad’ against each other.

On Wednesday, a clash broke out between the two sides in Bati Kot District which left 19 militants killed and several others wounded . 18 of those killed belonged to Daesh.

The police headquarters of Nangarhar province later released a photo of those killed showing at least of them severely burnt.

However, it is not yet clear whether the person was burnt alive or after he died.”

“A Pakistani police officer says a roadside bomb has killed two coast guards and wounded three others in the country’s southwest.

Police officer Muhammad Sajid says the coast guard’s vehicle was struck Saturday in the Baluchistan province, which has long been the scene of a low-level separatist insurgency.

Sajid says the explosion destroyed the vehicle and wounded all five guards. He says two of the guards died before reaching the hospital.

Elsewhere in Baluchistan, armed motorcyclists gunned down two policemen who were guarding a mosque in the provincial capital, Quetta.

No one has claimed responsibility for the attacks. Baloch separatists have targeted Pakistani security forces in the past.”

“Mosques all over France are taking part in a dialogue weekend, opening up to the public as the country marks one year since radical jihadis attacked a satirical newspaper and Jewish supermarket, killing 17 people.

The open-door initiative that includes tea and pastries was organized by France’s main Muslim body to counter islamophobia and highlight the differences between jihadism and moderate, peace-loving Islam.

After fresh attacks in November, police conducted over a dozen raids on Muslim places of worship and closed several over radicalization fears.

In other events to mark the first anniversary of January’s attacks, French President Francois Hollande paid homage to a female police officer killed by gunman Amedy Coulibaly. In the evening, many will gather for an homage at a Jewish supermarket, the site of a fatal hostage siege.”

So if Donald Trump proved the political universe wrong and won the Republican presidential nomination, he would be creamed by Hillary Clinton, correct?

A new survey of likely voters might at least raise momentary dyspepsia for Democrats since it suggests why it wouldn’t be a cakewalk.

The survey by Washington-based Mercury Analytics is a combination online questionnaire and “dial-test” of Trump’s first big campaign ad among 916 self-proclaimed “likely voters” (this video shows the ad and the dial test results). It took place primarily Wednesday and Thursday and has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.5 percent.

Nearly 20 percent of likely Democratic voters say they’d cross sides and vote for Trump, while a small number, or 14 percent, of Republicans claim they’d vote for Clinton. When those groups were further broken down, a far higher percentage of the crossover Democrats contend they are “100 percent sure” of switching than the Republicans.

Las Vegas (AFP) – The next frontier for the tech sector is the human brain.

A new breed of neuro-hacker is finding ways to capture and manipulate brainwaves to improve health, with potential to help the severely handicapped.

A number of the innovations were on display at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, where computer scientists and biomedical experts showcased ways to tap into and use brain signals.

The “mind control” headband unveiled by startup BrainCo effectively hacks into brain signals with a range of possible applications — from helping to improve attention spans, to detecting disease, controlling smart home appliances or even a prosthetic device.

The device “translates your brainwaves into electronic signals,” said the Boston-based firm’s Zenchuan Lei.

At CES, BrainCo demonstrated how a person could use the headband to manipulate a prosthetic hand — a potential life-changer for those paralyzed or missing limbs.

“These signals can be used to control objects like a prosthetic hand,” Lei said. “You can turn the lights on or off just by focusing on that.”

The device designed by scientists from Harvard and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology employs “neuro feedback,” a means of allowing people to control their brain waves for various purposes. It is expected to be sold later this year for less than $150.

MAINZ/COLOGNE, Germany (Reuters) – Migrants who commit crimes should lose their right to asylum, German chancellor Angela Merkel said on Saturday, toughening her tone as crowds gathered in Cologne angered by mass assaults on women on New Year’s Eve.

Nearly two dozen asylum seekers were among those suspected of carrying out the attacks, police said this week, heightening tensions over immigration and fuelling criticism of Merkel’s refusal to place a limit on the numbers of migrants entering the country.

“The right to asylum can be lost if someone is convicted on probation or jailed,” Merkel said after a meeting of the leadership of her Christian Democrats (CDU) party.

“Serial offenders who repeatedly rob or repeatedly affront women must feel the full force of the law,” Merkel told journalists in Mainz, promising a reduction over the longer term in the flow of migrants to Germany.

  10. ‘We want our safety back’, say hundreds of women at Cologne protest

Cologne (Germany) (AFP) – Around 500 women staged a noisy protest Saturday in the German city of Cologne against a shocking rash of sexual violence during New Year’s festivities that was blamed on migrants.

Carrying signs bearing slogans like “No violence against women” and “No means no! It’s the law! Stay off of us!”, the women banged pots and blew whistles as they rallied outside Cologne’s famed Gothic cathedral.

Others waved banners saying “Protect our women and children”, as outrage grew in Germany over the spate of assaults.

Cologne police have recorded some 200 complaints, ranging from groping to two reported rapes during New Year’s festivities.

  11. Few Russian strikes in Syria are against Islamic State, U.S. official says

BRUSSELS (Reuters) – Only a third of Russia’s air strikes in Syria are targeting Islamic State and its imprecise attacks are forcing the population to flee, fuelling Europe’s refugee crisis, a senior U.S. official said on Saturday.

Of the 5,000 air strikes carried out by Russia since it began its air offensive in Syria on Sept. 30, about 70 percent hit rebels opposed to President Bashar al-Assad, rather than supporting the efforts of the U.S-led coalition, the official told reporters in Brussels.

Rescue workers and rights groups say Russia’s bombing in Syria has killed scores of civilians at busy market places and in residential areas. Russia denies this.

The Kremlin launched its air strikes saying it wanted to help Assad, its main Middle East ally, defeat Islamic State and other militant groups.

“We are not convinced of what the Russian intentions are,” the official said on condition of anonymity.

“For a while, very few strikes were going against ISIL and after a lot of public condemnation they turned a number of strikes against ISIL,” the official said, referring to Islamic State, the militant group that controls territory in Syria and Iraq.

BERLIN (Reuters) – The European division of General Motors was still loss-making in 2015, but hopes to return to profit this year, the division’s chief executive told a German magazine.

General Motors had previously set a target for its European operations, which comprise the Opel and Vauxhall brands, to return to profitability “by 2016”. The last time GM made an annual net profit in Europe was in 1999.

“The turnaround is hard. But we still want to reach the break-even in 2016,” Opel chief executive Karl-Thomas Neumann told Auto Bild in an interview.

Losses in Europe have been widening in recent months, primarily thanks to lost sales in Russia, GM Europe’s third largest market.

  13. China December inflation edges up as expected, producer prices still in deflation
    January 9, 2016

By Xiaoyi Shao and Pete Sweeney

BEIJING (Reuters) – China’s consumer inflation barely edged up in December while companies’ factory-gate prices continued to fall, adding to concerns about growing deflation risks in the world’s second-largest economy.

In line with sluggish activity, China’s consumer inflation quickened slightly to 1.6 percent year-on-year in December, as expected, compared with 1.5 percent the previous month.

The producer price index was unchanged at minus 5.9 percent in December, the National Bureau of Statistics said on Saturday, slightly above forecasts but marking a 46th straight month of declines and highlighting the deeply entrenched pressures facing China’s manufacturers as the economy cools.

“The inflation profile remains soft and the continuous PPI deflation suggests that Chinese companies will have to reduce their debt as further expansion in many industries will only lead to more loss,” wrote Zhou Hao, economist at Commerzbank in Singapore.

An official survey last week showed China’s manufacturing sector contracted for a fifth straight month in December and factories continued to shed jobs, dampening hopes that the economy will enter 2016 on steadier footing.

Protesting High Council of Turkish Religious Affairs Directorate’s fatwa, delivered by the directorates internet site following a question asking on whether a man’s having “lustful” feelings for his daughter would religiously invalidate his marriage with his wife, protests amounting across Turkey.

Despite the screenshot taken from the website of the Religious Affairs Directorate’s High Council on Religious Affairs and announced it was closing down its online fatwa service, various segments of Turkish society are increasingly continuing their protest the answer of the Turkey’s top religious body.

We will not let your abusing the religious references to cover your fatwa,” said women in their explanations.

Following their explanation, the chains were cut by iron cutters by police and all five women were detained.

Meanwhile, Turkey’s top religious body, the Religious Affairs Directorate (Diyanet), has denied issuing a controversial fatwa published on its website in response to a question on implications of a father’s “lust” for his daughter on his marriage and announced it was closing down its online fatwa service.

In a statement published late on Friday, head of the Diyanet’s High Council on Religious Affairs, which deals with fatwas, called the publication of the fatwa an “immoral sabotage” aimed at “creating a negative image of Islam.”

“An extensive investigation has been launched into the unfortunate incident at the order of the head of the Religious Affairs Directorate. A security report shows the website of our High Council on Religious Affairs has been subject to many attacks,” Ekrem Kele? said.
“Such a fatwa has never been issued by our High Council on Religious Affairs,” he said. The council’s online service to answer questions on religious issues has been closed down to “prevent abuse,” he added.

Turkey’s Diyanet denies responsibility in controversial fatwa on father’s lust for daughter

[…] One anonymous user asked whether a father having sexual desire for his daughter would result in the cancellation of his marriage from a religious perspective.

The Diyanet posted an answer stating that there is a difference of opinion on the matter among Islam’s different schools of thought.

“For some, a father kissing his daughter with lust or caressing her with desire has no effect on the man’s marriage,” the answer said, referencing various religious sources.

The Diyanet cited the Hanafi school of Islamic jurisprudence as an exception, as it sees the daughter’s mother as “haram” (Arabic for “forbidden”) to such a man.

“Moreover, the girl would be over nine years of age,” it also said.

  17. Cologne New Year violence cases up to 379, most suspects migrants: police

Berlin (AFP) – Cologne police said Saturday the number of cases filed over violence during New Year’s festivities had reached 379, and that asylum seekers and illegal migrants made up the majority of suspects.

“Those in focus of criminal police investigations are mostly people from North African countries. The majority of them are asylum seekers and people who are in Germany illegally,” police said in a statement, adding that around 40 percent of the cases related to sexual assault.

Investigations were ongoing to determine if charges could be brought against the suspects, it said, with 100 investigators now examining the cases.

Cologne police chief Wolfgang Albers was suspended yesterday after his force came under fire for failing to prevent the shocking spate of crime a week ago.

Witnesses had described terrifying scenes of women running the gauntlet of groping hands, lewd insults and robberies in the mob violence.

The rampage has shocked Germany and added fuel to critics of Chancellor Angela Merkel’s open-door stance to war refugees that brought 1.1 million new asylum seekers into the country last year alone.

  18. I had a thought last night, did the Moslems develop the New Years Eve attacks on their own or were they copying the flash mobs of gang punks the big cities experienced over the last couple of years? Both were mass actions designed to overwhelm the police and allow the criminals to get away.

  19. Sweden: “Have the Taliban Come to Town?”
One Month of Islam and Multiculturalism in Sweden: December 2015

In Sweden it is illegal to engage in sex with children under the age of 15. It is considered as rape, even if it is consensual. But that apparently did not stop a Middle Eastern man, while living in the country, from impregnating his 14-year-old wife. Instead of prison, the husband, as well as the girl’s parents, have all been rewarded with the permanent residency status. This story was exposed on December 1 by blogger Merit Wager, who regularly publishes stories leaked to her by Immigration Service employees. Wager’s source wrote:

“This means that the public prosecutor, the police and the Immigration Service have all disregarded that the ‘husband’ is guilty of a crime which carries a minimum penalty of two years in prison. So, it is fine for grown men to have sex with 13-year-olds in Sweden without any kind of legal ramification? Equality before the law? No way. What kind of signal does it send to other people in a similar situation, or those planning on bringing a child bride here from their own country? Clearly, Swedish law applies only to Swedes.”

December 3: A 26-year-old Syrian, known as “N.N.,” was arrested on suspicion beating and threatening a 16-year-old at an asylum house in Borgholm. In October, N.N. had been convicted of two counts of making unlawful death threats against a Christian asylum seeker. When arrested, he tried to hide a cell phone on which the police later found pictures from the war in Syria, showing N.N. posing with swords and firearms.

The Christian asylum seeker testified during the trial that he had felt terrified when N.N. threatened to cut off his head. The municipal court decided to let N.N. off with a fine because “there is no reason to assume that N.N. will repeat his offenses.” Now, he is again suspected of a serious crime, but the prosecutor sees no reason to hold him in jail this time, either — because there is “no risk of him committing more crimes.”

  20. ISIS Paying Residents in U.S. Currency After Vowing to Crush American Dollar
By Bridget Johnson January 8, 2016

It’s a far cry from ISIS’ claim last year that it was minting gold coins as official Islamic State currency, with the intent of catapulting “into the financial sphere” where it will cast the “fraudulent dollar note” into ruins, according to the August English-language ISIS video “The Rise of the Khilafah and the Return of the Gold Dinar.”

ISIS has also boasted about its gold dinar in the pages of its Dabiq magazine.

The photo essay from Raqqa says the Central Martyrs Office pays “families of martyrs who gave their blood victories for a debt service of Allah” with stipends for home costs and furnishings.

CTV – Trudeau condemns pepper spray attack on Syrian refugees in Vancouver

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is condemning an attack on Syrian refugees in Vancouver, after police say a man pepper-sprayed a group at a welcoming event.

Officers say the incident happened outside of the Muslim Association of Canada Centre, just after 10:30 p.m. on Friday.

The centre was holding a “Welcome Night” for refugees that evening, and a crowd of people were gathered outside when an unknown man approached on a bicycle.

The man then pepper-sprayed the group of men, women and children, a police press release says.

Witnesses at the scene said the man sprayed as many as 15 to 30 people.

“I saw people running out of the centre and crying and coughing,” a witness named Fatima told CTV Vancouver. “I (could) smell the black pepper. And it did hurt, of course.”

Paramedics arrived on scene to treat those hit by the spray. They said nobody was seriously injured.

On Saturday, Trudeau responded to the incident on Twitter.

(Judicial Watch) – In the aftermath of the San Bernardino terrorist attacks the Obama administration has issued a new warning regarding workplace discrimination “against individuals who are, or perceived to be, Muslim or Middle Eastern.”

American businesses are to accommodate the religious needs of Muslims and assure that they aren’t being harassed or intimidated, states the order which was issued by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), the bloated federal agency that enforces the nation’s workplace discrimination laws. Those who don’t oblige will be prosecuted by the administration for violating federal law, specifically Title VII of the Civil Right Act which prohibits discrimination on the bases of religion.

“The attacks in Paris and San Bernardino, California, in late 2015 and other recent world events have heightened concerns about workplace protections for all employees, including individuals who are, or are perceived to be, Muslim or Middle Eastern,” the EEOC asserts in its recently issued document. “Discrimination in the workplace based on religion, national origin, or race is strictly prohibited by federal and state laws. Reactions in the workplace to world events demand increased efforts by employers to prevent discrimination.” EEOC Chair Jenny R. Yang refers to Muslims as “vulnerable communities” that need protection “even as we grapple with the concerns raised by the recent terrorist attacks.”

  24. SYRIA -Russia raids on Qaeda-run Syria prison kill ‘at least 39’

Beirut (AFP) – Russian strikes Saturday on a prison complex run by Al-Qaeda’s Syrian affiliate in the country’s northwest killed at least 39 people, including five civilians, a monitoring group said.

The strikes hit an Al-Nusra Front building, which lies near a popular market in Maarat al-Numan in Idlib province, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said.

The building housed the group’s religious court and a jail.

Most of those killed were rebels imprisoned by Al-Nusra, while other victims included prison guards and Al-Nusra fighters.

Among the dead were five civilians, including a child.

Russian warplanes have been conducting air strikes against the Islamic State organisation and “other terrorist groups” in Syria since September 30.

Although Al-Nusra and IS are both jihadist organisations, they are fierce rivals and regularly clash in Syria.

Al-Nusra also has tense relationships with non-jihadist rebel groups that oppose its extreme interpretation of Islamic law.

In Idlib, it has formed an alliance with rebel groups, including hardline faction Ahrar al-Sham.

The Army of Conquest coalition has expelled regime forces from Idlib province.

  25. Germany on the Brink

…The still-imaginary France Michel Houellebecq conjured up in his novel “Submission,” in which nativists and Islamists brawl in the streets, would have a very good chance of being realized in the German future.

This need not happen. But prudence requires doing everything possible to prevent it. That means closing Germany’s borders to new arrivals for the time being. It means beginning an orderly deportation process for able-bodied young men. It means giving up the fond illusion that Germany’s past sins can be absolved with a reckless humanitarianism in the present.

It means that Angela Merkel must go — so that her country, and the continent it bestrides, can avoid paying too high a price for her high-minded folly.

  26. Syrian Husband Offers Wife’s Rape for Passage to Europe
Smugglers accepted the rape as payment. The wife placed a restraining order on her husband who reportedly joined in the daily sexual assaults.

    Thu, January 7, 2016

Lacking in money, a would-be refugee offered his wife’s repeated rape as payment for the family’s passage from war-torn Syria to Europe, according to media reports.

This was compounded by the husband, who apparently participated in the daily rape of his wife during their journey to the European mainland.

Subsequently his wife obtained a restraining order against her husband. Now living in Berlin, Germany, the woman fears her husband or another family member could try to kill her because of the shame she brought upon the family.

While this story is seemingly unique in detail it is part of the broader story of the abuse of female refugees from the Middle East in recent months.

“A growing number of women and young girls housed in refugee shelters in Germany are being raped, sexually assaulted and even forced into prostitution by male asylum seekers, according to German social work organizations with first-han

  32. I have just listened to very interesting inteview in Polish TV, which was quite frank and different from what earlier politically correct interviews in that TV.
Unfortunately the interview is in Polish but here are the main points

    1) Policemen in Cologne said that the data about events was removed from the records, probably by their supervisors or higher ups.
    2) In December on the lampposts in Berlin people saw the flyers which said that Germans should convert to Islam otherwise their children or they themselves will be killed or raped.
    3) near the refugee shelters like Tempelhof if the thefts is worth less then 200 Euro it even will not be registered by police. Also, police do not go there, they are afraid.
    4) Only presently German police are getting bulletproof vests and special shoes.
    5) One of the person during the interview said in his view soon in Europe there will be huge increase in organized crime with human, women, drug and organ trafficking on a very large scale.
    6) In North Africa there are about 4 to 5 million people waiting for the spring to go to Europe
    7) In black Africa there is about 20 million people who because of the drought want to go elsewhere, particularly to Europe. (they did not say, of course, but it seems to me that some will try America)
    8) One of the interviewees thinks that the reason for all that is politics and not exactly ISIS or al Qaeda. ( I somewhat tend to agree with him. The people coming from black Africa are pushed to go by their politicians who wants to get rid of firebrands. They are also very anti Western (even in non-Muslim countries) so that is another reason why they push out their citizens and in that way they are getting rid of a lot of their problems.
Here is the link to the interview. Unfortunately they say that In Canada one can not watch because of the licensing restrictions. One have to use specific software.

    http://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/us-navy-releases-video-provocative-iran-rocket-fire-36186060

“The U.S. Navy on Saturday released footage it said showed Iranian Revolutionary Guard vessels firing rockets near warships and commercial traffic in the strategic Strait of Hormuz late last month, a move raising tensions between the two nations despite the recent nuclear deal.

The Navy said it released the footage in response to a Freedom of Information Act request, though it also comes as U.S. ally Saudi Arabia has cut ties to the Islamic Republic following attacks on diplomatic posts there after the kingdom’s execution of a Shiite cleric.

The 45 seconds of black-and-white Dec. 26 footage, which the Navy said was shot from a Seahawk helicopter, shows what appears to be an oil tanker passing by. A flash appears on the left side of the video and after zooming in, it shows small boats the Navy said were Iranian firing rockets.

The Navy has said the USS Harry S. Truman aircraft carrier, the USS Bulkeley destroyer and a French frigate were nearby at the time, as well as commercial vessels…”

    http://www.khaama.com/afghan-intelligence-conducted-over-2000-raids-in-2015-andarabi-1955

“The Afghan intelligence operatives conducted around 2,200 counter-terrorism raids across the country in 2015 and thwarted major terrorist attack plots by the anti-government armed militant groups.

The acting Afghan Intelligence – National Directorate of Security (NDS) Chief Masoud Andarabi told reporters during the general session of the parliament that the Afghan intelligence operatives eliminated at least 14 terrorist groups during the same period.

Andarabi was summoned along with the other top government officials by the Afghan lawmakers to brief the house regarding the deteriorating security situation of the country.

He said some of the major strategies of the anti-government armed militant groups were also thwarted by the Afghan forces.

Andarabi further added that the militant groups were looking to execute their strategies in some of the volatile provinces, including northern Kunduz, eastern Nangarhar, southern Helmand provinces.

In regards to threats posed by the emergent loyalists of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) terrorist group in Afghanistan, Andarabi said the Afghan security institutions are closely working to ascertain the roots of the terror group, insisting that the extremist group has links outside the country.

The remarks by Andarabi comes as the loyalists of the terror group have recently increased their insurgency activities and anti-government propaganda besides terrorizing the residents of eastern parts of the country as they aim to establish a regional base in eastern Nangarhar province.

Meanwhile, the acting defense minister Masoom Stanikzai said last week that a battalion consisting of 750 personnel of the Afghan army has been formed to suppress the insurgency activities of the ISIS loyalists in the country.”

“The U.S. Army will deploy about 500 soldiers to Afghanistan for an assignment of up to nine months who will also serve as advisors to Afghan national security forces.

According to information released by the Army on Friday, the soldiers will be deployed later this winter to join the 10th Mountain Division at Bagram Airfield after completing a mission rehearsal exercise this month at the Joint Readiness Training Center at Fort Polk, La.

“Our nation’s Army continues to call upon Mountain soldiers to serve around the
world in places like Afghanistan due to their proven record of high standards, mission success and selfless service,” said Maj. Gen. Jeffrey L. Bannister, commander of the 10th Mountain Division, in a statement.

This comes after the NATO and U.S. military commander in Afghanistan General John F. Campbell said that due to the ongoing situation in Afghanistan he seeks to keep as many U.S. troops in Afghanistan as possible through 2016.

In a telephonic interview with USA TODAY from Kabul, Gen. John Campbell said that maintaining the current force of 9,800 U.S. troops to train Afghan forces and conduct counter-terrorism raids is vital, and that the scheduled reduction to 5,500 by Jan. 1, 2017, should be put off as long as possible…”

  40. B R E I T B A R T – Islamic Protester Booted from Trump Rally Is Anti-Israel Activist, Promotes Radical Imams

Rose Hamid, an Islamic protester who made headlines when she was removed from a Donald Trump rally in South Carolina Friday night and attempted to position herself as a victim of ‘Islamophobia’ thereafter, has a history rife with extremist advocacy.

In a CNN article titled, “Silently protesting Muslim woman ejected from Trump rally,” Hamid, 56, is described as an innocent “flight attendant” who came to the rally in hopes that Trump supporters could better understand Muslims. When the Republican frontrunner started to discuss the refugee situation in Syria and President Obama’s policies in the region, a group of protesters alongside Hamid started a “commotion,” the Washington Post reports. Then, the group–who were sporting provocative yellow stars reminiscent to those that Jews were forced to wear under the Third Reich–was promptly ejected from the rally.

“The ugliness really came out fast and that’s really scary,” she told CNN. “I figured that most Trump supporters probably never met a Muslim so I figured that I’d give them the opportunity to meet one.”

The Council on American Islamic Relations, an Islamic advocacy group, has demanded Trump apologize immediately for allowing Hamid to be removed from the rally by security, arguing it sends a “chilling message” to Muslim Americans.

Throughout this fiasco, Hamid has frequently been described as an innocent bystander without a political agenda– a mere citizen who wanted to share her voice.

But Breitbart News has learned that Hamid is not simply a “flight attendant,” but is also an Islamic activist who apologizes for Palestinian terrorism and promotes radical Imams.

As President of the Muslim Women of the Carolinas, Hamid has consistently promoted anti-Israel propaganda and has excused Palestinian jihadi terrorism as “resistance” against “occupation.”

“For anyone who wonders why Palestinians are resisting the apartheid, oppressive occupation of Israel, here’s one of the MANY MANY reasons,” she wrote in September 2014 on her Facebook page, following the summer war between Israel and the Palestinian terrorist group Hamas:

On September 3, 2014, she commented on the Jewish state: “Israel does not want peace, they want land and they want to ethnically cleanse the Palestinians from that land they have lived on for generations.”

Two months earlier, she linked to a Palestinian propaganda film, writing: “For those asking why Palestinians are resisting the Israeli occupation,” again apologizing for acts of terror. “This video is a true representation of some of what I’ve seen and been through,” she claimed.

In July 2014, Hamid promoted a petition that described Zionism as a “racist apartheid movement.” The petition claims Jews in Israel are “ethnically cleansing” the Palestinians in the region.

A review of Hamid’s Facebook page shows that she did not once condemn Hamas, the militant Palestinian jihadi group that started the 2014 war, but demonized Israel dozens of times.

Hamid’s Muslim Women of the Carolinas group has in the past promoted an event with Imam Siraj Wahhaj, an unindicted coconspirator in the trial of the 1993 World Trade Center bombing. Wahhaj, a 9/11 truther, has called for the creation of an Islamic state in the United States.

Breitbart News has also found that the man standing next to Hamid at the Trump rally shares comparable views.

Marty Rosenbluth, the man standing next to Hamid at the Trump event, is an anti-Israel activist, a proud Communist, and a Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) supporter, according to comments made on his Facebook page. In December, he bragged about his custom-made Arabic-text “Workers of the World Unite” banner that was made while “I was working with the General Federation of Palestinian Trade Unions.” Rosenbluth is also a pro-bono lawyer for illegal aliens, according to an Indy Week profile from January, 2013.
