AMSTERDAM (Reuters) – Dutch police on Wednesday fired warning shots in an effort to disperse a crowd, as a protest against plans to house asylum-seekers in a small town turned into a riot.

Police in Geldermalsen, near Utrecht, said via their official Twitter account they had “so far made numerous arrests, it’s is not clear yet how many”. No serious injuries were reported.

Images and videos of the incident showed dozens of youths tearing down fences, throwing beer bottles and fireworks at police, and chanting slogans against the proposed center for asylum-seekers.

According to national broadcaster NOS, around 2,000 people joined the protest in a town of 27,000.

A meeting of the town’s council to decide on whether to build the center to house 1,500 asylum-seekers had to be halted. A regional broadcaster showed footage of the meeting being evacuated by shouting policemen as rioters sought to force their way into the building. […]

There will be more on this tomorrow. This is not the first time the Dutch government has tried to force a large population on a small Dutch town and it did not go well. Researching riots in Blitterswijk, Apeldoorn, and Otterlo would show similar events. I hope to have an article on that tomorrow as well as more on this.

  1. I’m so pleased that these Dutch are not rolling over and exposing their soft bellies while the government relentlessly seeks to abuse its authority against their will.

The job of the government is to PROTECT its people.
If it turns on them, as it is doing all over Europe, its leaders will have to accept the consequences for their betrayal.

The people know what’s afoot. They know — and they are not men nor are they women if they permit this treason against them.

  2. Things are getting pretty bad when the left wing knowingly brings in people who it knows will form an enemy column, simply because they know the little darlings will vote left once they’re here. Leftists want to convert their own countries into poverty stricken, socialist-voting, third world dumps full of people who will always vote for the guy who promises to give them the most free stuff – like the late Hugo Chavez…

Oh, and the wealthier leftists never live in a part of town that changes with the immigration patterns. No, they live in that nice rich part of town that looks pretty much the same today as it did in 1957 – big leafy trees, big green lawns, big old houses, and big beautiful cars…

  3. What a truly pissed-off-sounding mob. I wonder how far we are from seeing such an angry mob storm the parliament buildings, drag the traitors out into the street, and hang them from the lampposts? Maybe that’s what it’s going to take. The governments of the world seem hell-bent on Islamising their own countries and nothing short of a violent revolution seems likely to dissuade them from doing it. Look at Trudeau. He’s a perfect example. And stupid? If that boy was any dumber he’d be wearing a hockey helmet and banging his head against the wall…

    • I don’t know about Canada but the US is real close to open revolt, not riots but revolution. This will probably come as an answer to the black riots that are coming next spring.

  4. I haven’t had time to read all the news but ofcourse the papers here will be full of the ‘evil and vile’ extreme right nazi rioters in Geldersmalen, but who gives a shit anymore? This is the result of DECADES, literally DECADES (We started importing morocoans and pissturks in the early 1960’s) policy by our ultra left-wing government. Polls still only show a 28% support for Geert Wilders so that’l mean that 72% is still for this. This is never going to end in a democratic manner we will see a huge amount of riots and protests in the near future and everything is to blame firstly on the politicall correct shitpile of the EU and our own leftist parties (who will be banned or vanish in the future) . fucking idiots i cant even begin to understand how stupid you can be.

  5. Woman hospitalised after she was hit by police in Geldermalsen

Van Kessel was at the town hall meeting as former chairwoman of the local entrepreneurs’ association. She opposes the decision to locate a refugee centre for 1,500 people on the edge of the town and is involved in managing property on the industrial estate where it will be situated.

Geldermalsen rioters were mainly local, say police

The majority of people involved in Wednesday night’s riots in Geldermalsen came from the Gelderland town itself, police said on Thursday.
