  1. When Muslims produce videos suggesting everyone focus on radicals and not deconstruct the Islam that produces them, it is like Socialism without pointing to the Communism that created it. The Islam started by the First Jihadist.

  2. The Emperor’s New Clothes by Hans Christian Andersen

Upon re-reading this wonderful old story in detail I am amazed by how perfectly it fits the current narrative about “climate change”. Like the clever swindlers in the story the so-called “scientists” of climate change have never relied on facts to propagate their phoney “theory”, they have always used scorn and ridicule and the fear of being called “stupid” instead. Look at how they turned on Dr. Patrick Moore, a co-founder of Greenpeace for God’s sake, for his crime of disagreeing with them. They called him a “denier”, which is code for “neo-nazi”, and un-friended him in the most brutal way. Suzuki went from being one of his buddies to his worst enemy in ten seconds flat. Suzuki absolutely despises Patrick Moore now – just hates him and openly calls him a lying sellout.

Do you think the other scientists didn’t notice that? Do you think they didn’t see what happens to bad little nerds who don’t go along with their betters – Michael Mann and Cliff Jones? Do you think professors get tenure if they are too “stupid” to see the new clothes? Do you think they even get hired in the first place if they’re that “dumb”? Revisit the story. It’s unbelievably apt…

PS… Another thing that is exactly like the story of the Emperor’s clothes is the idea of the “peacefulness” of the religion of Islam and the “mercy” of the god “Allah”. It’s the exact same thing. The minute you observe the obvious you are instantly characterized as a vicious, small-minded, stupid little bigot who just can’t help hating anything that isn’t exactly like himself, because you grew up in a trailer park full of prejudice, way up in the hills, and can’t read or write none. Gee, those swindlers are branching out and expanding the franchise, it seems…

    http://edition.cnn.com/2015/12/14/us/terror-truck-lawsuit/index.html

“ll Mark Oberholtzer wanted to do was upgrade his ride. What he got instead was a world of trouble from half a world away.

The Texas City, Texas, plumbing company owner is suing a Ford dealership for more than $1 million in financial losses and damages to his company’s reputation after a pickup truck he once owned ended up with Islamic militants fighting in Syria’s civil war.

A photo of the truck, with his Mark-1 Plumbing decals still attached, went viral, leading to thousands of harassing phone calls.

“By the end of the day, Mark-1’s office, Mark-1’s business phone, and Mark’s personal cell had received over 1,000 phone calls from around the nation,” Oberholzer’s lawyer wrote in the lawsuit, filed December 9 in Harris County, Texas. “These phone calls were in large part harassing and contained countless threats of violence, property harm, injury and even death.”

Oberholtzer said this wouldn’t have happened if the dealership had just removed the decals before the truck was resold.”

  6. Chinese Submarine Practiced Missile Attack on USS Reagan

    http://freebeacon.com/national-security/chinese-submarine-practiced-missile-attack-on-uss-reagan/

A Chinese attack submarine conducted a simulated cruise missile attack on the aircraft carrier USS Reagan during a close encounter several weeks ago, according to American defense officials.

The targeting incident near the Sea of Japan in October violated China’s 2014 commitment to the multinational Code for Unplanned Encounters at Sea, known as CUES, designed to reduce the risk of a shooting incident between naval vessels, said officials familiar with details of the encounter they described as “serious.”

A section of the non-binding 2014 agreement states that commanders at sea should avoid actions that could lead to accidents or mishaps. Among the actions to be avoided are “simulation of attacks by aiming guns, missiles, fire control radar, torpedo tubes or other weapons in the direction of vessels or aircraft encountered.”

Navy officials recently briefed congressional staff on the incident that took place during the weekend of Oct. 24—days before the Navy warship USS Lassens sailed within 12 miles of disputed Chinese islands in the South China Sea, triggering vocal criticism from Beijing.

  7. Germany turns down US request for more military engagement in anti-IS coalition (DW, Dec 15, 2015)
    http://www.dw.com/en/germany-turns-down-us-request-for-more-military-engagement-in-anti-is-coalition/a-18918187

“Germany’s defense minister has refused a US request for enhanced military engagement in the coalition against the “Islamic State.” Her comments echo those of Chancellor Angela Merkel.

Defense Minister Ursula von der Leyen told broadcaster ARD on Tuesday that Germany would not consider a US request to increase its military support to the anti-IS coalition.

Last week, “Der Spiegel” reported that US Defense Secretary Ash Carter had sent a letter to more than a dozen countries requesting they up their support to the US-led coalition.

However, Leyen said she would tell Carter that Germany supports the United States, but is already contributing enough to multiple missions against extremism across the globe.

Her comments echo those of Chancellor Angela Merkel, who on Sunday said she believed Germany was doing its part and right now was not the time to bring up new requests…”

  8. China’s plainclothes officers a force against dissent

BEIJING (AP) — The tough guys wore smiley face stickers, but they weren’t there to spread good cheer.

Scenes of pushing, shouting and shoving outside a Beijing courthouse this week were orchestrated by plainclothes security officers identified by a sticker familiar around the world – the yellow decal identified since the 1970s with the slogan “Have a Nice Day.”

Their attempts to intimidate journalists, foreign diplomats and a small cohort of human rights advocates outside the trial of a well-known activist lawyer are all-too familiar to China’s beleaguered dissident community.

“The plainclothes police are the ones the Communist Party uses when they know what they’re doing has no basis in law,” said independent environmental activist Wu Lihong, who lives under a form of house arrest that becomes especially strict during sensitive political occasions.

  9. Egypt second worst nation for jailing journalists: Reporters Without Borders (ahram, Dec 15, 2015)
    http://english.ahram.org.eg/NewsContent/1/64/173534/Egypt/Politics-/Egypt-second-worst-nation-for-jailing-journalists-.aspx

“Egypt was named the second worst country for jailing journalists, following China, according to media rights group Reporters Without Borders’ annual report issued Tuesday, AFP reported.

China was regarded as the “world’s biggest prison for journalists,” and Egypt ranked directly behind it.

The Egyptian Journalists’ Syndicate sets the number of jailed journalists in Egypt at 32, including 18 cases related to journalism.

Head of the freedoms committee at the Journalists’ Syndicate Khaled El-Balshy told Ahram Online he cannot comment on the report because has not seen it, but that he can talk about the reality in Egypt, as there are many violations.

“It a very dangerous reality, and the number of journalists in prison has increased,” El-Balshy said.

The number of jailed and detained journalists, according to El-Balshy, was 22 in 2014, an increase by over 68 percent compared to last year.

The head of the freedoms committee said the number of complaints exceeds the official number, and the syndicate is required to find proof that the detained person practices journalism.

The syndicate has repeatedly protested, and filed reports and requests to free journalists. It also launched a campaign to call for the release of journalists and offering medical care to them, as eight out of the 32 are in need of medical assistance…”

Samim Khpalwak, spokesman for the governor of Kandahar province confirmed the incident.

He said gunmen fled the area following the murder but security forces are looking for them.

“The legal framework based on the moral and legal code of Islam is rarely out of the news.

The most extreme interpretations of Sharia are being enforced by Isis and Boko Haram, it is railed against by Republican presidential candidates, and the Independent recently revealed how Sharia councils in Britain are locking women into “marital captivity” and doing nothing to officially report domestic violence.

But how do Muslims feel about Sharia ?

An international Pew Research Center poll of Muslims, conducted in 2013, found that this varies widely across countries – shown in the above graphic produced by Statista.

Respondents were asked if Sharia should be the official law of the land in their country.

In Afghanistan, 99 per cent said yes, with Iraq (91 per cent), the Palestinian Territories (89 per cent), Malaysia (86 per cent) and Niger (also 86 per cent) the countries next most in favour….”

Northrop Grumman has revealed a tantalising image of a new stealth ‘superjet’ capable of firing laser weapons.

The so called ‘sixth generation fighter’ is rumoured to fly at supersonic speeds, although Northrop Grumman, who are developing it, say the specifications are still secret.

The stealth craft is expected to use advanced cooling systems to help disguise its laser systems

Chris Hernandez, Northrop’s vice president for research, technology and advanced design, told BreakingDefence the sixth-gem fighter will be long range because it won’t have many bases to operate from overseas; it must ‘carry a lot of weapons;’ survivability will be key.

What do those requirements and physics lead you to?

‘This looks a lot like a baby B-2 and this is really getting into our sweet spot,’ Hernandez said.

Northrop Grumman has two design teams working on the new aircraft.

However, the firm would not discuss the plane’s speed, saying that would have to wait for clearer direction from the Pentagon in the future.

    http://www.khaama.com/taliban-military-commander-for-helmands-marjah-district-killed-4396

“Security forces have killed the military commander of Taliban for Marjah District of restive Helmand Province during clash.

Police Chief of Marjah District said five companions of Mullah Obaidullah alias Sahar were also killed during the brief gun battle that erupted last night.

Abdullah Khan added that security forces did not suffer casualties during the clash.

Another report from Marjah District suggests that 11 civilians sustained injuries after a rocket hit a house in Block-e-Naw area.

The victims include nine children and two women who were taken to Emergency Hospital, located in the provincial capital, for treatment.

Doctors say eight victims were discharged after treatment but three children who had received severe injuries are still under medical care.

Officials say Taliban had taken security posts under fire during which a rocket landed on a house in Block-e-Naw area leaving 11 civilians wounded.

This comes as heavy clashes have been erupting between security forces and Taliban have been engaged in heavy clashes in Marjah District.”

  15. Young white men are the most derided group in Britain, study finds
YouGov data from 48 separate surveys has shown that young white men are seen as the worst ethnic, gender or age group almost across the board

    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/12051159/young-white-men-most-derided-group-in-britain-yougov.html

Young, white men are the most derided group in Britain, according to a YouGov study.

People were asked for their views on different groups of differing ages, genders and ethnicities.

They were asked to score them on specific positive and negative criteria.

These included how likely they are to be honest, to be intelligent, to work hard, to be polite, to help others, to be violent, to travel without buying a ticket, to take drugs, to have many sexual encounters, and to get drunk.

The polling company explored attitudes to 48 different groups.

They looked at eight different ethnic/national groups, three ages (twenties, forties and sixties) and the two genders.

  16. ‘Islamic invasion’-touting, Koran-Mein Kampf-equating MP Wilders scoops top Dutch Politician gong (RT, Dec 15, 2015)
    https://www.rt.com/news/325958-wilders-politician-year-award/

“Right-wing populist Geert Wilders has been named Dutch Politician of the Year for the third time. The anti-immigration and anti-Islam MP likens the Koran to Hitler’s ‘Mein Kampf’ and wants to close national borders to stop an “Islamic invasion.”

Never before has a politician won the award on three occasions. The Dutch Politician of the Year award is nominated annually by EenVandaag, a news program on public television, following a poll.

“It is great to be chosen by the public as Politician of the Year. It is a huge honor. And an encouragement to fight even harder for the interests of the Netherlands and the Dutch people in 2016,” the leader of the Party for Freedom (Partij voor de Vrijheid, PVV) said.

Wilders, who had previously scooped the coveted title in 2010 and 2013, garnered a quarter of the more-than-37,000 votes. During a debate on the migrant crisis shortly before the announcement of the result, he shouted that all refugees must leave the country, Dutch website AD.nl reported.

The PVV is currently the leading party in the Dutch polls, more popular than the two governing coalition parties. The next challenge for Wilders is to become the next prime minister in the 2017 elections.

Wilders, 52, has a reputation for his hardline right-wing views and confrontational style. Last year he asked his supporters whether they wanted “fewer or more Moroccans in your city and in the Netherlands?” When the crowd cried “Fewer! Fewer!” Wilders replied: “We’re going to organize that,” prompting over 6,000 complaints.

Last month he said that the best way to deal with Europe’s growing refugee crisis is to close national borders and stop what Wilders called an “Islamic invasion.”…”

  17. U.S. has mapped ISIS hiding spots, but won’t launch strikes for fear of civilian deaths

    http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2015/dec/14/us-has-mapped-isis-propaganda-centers-but-wont-lau/

In a secret project tied to the overall U.S. campaign against the Islamic State, intelligence officials have spent months mapping out known physical locations of media safe houses where the extremist group’s operatives are compiling, editing and curating raw video and print materials into finished digital propaganda products for dissemination across the Internet.

Most of the locations are embedded in heavily residential areas in Syria, Iraq and Libya and are not being targeted by U.S. airstrikes because of Obama administration concerns about civilian casualties, according to sources who spoke to The Washington Times only on the condition of anonymity.

  18. Homeland producer on show’s tragically relevant ISIS storyline

    http://www.ew.com/article/2015/12/11/homeland-isis-interview

When Showtime first announced the fifth season storyline of Homeland would shift its focus from the Middle East to Europe, fans assumed the show was getting away from the Muslim terrorist threats that occupied CIA agent Carrie Mathison (Claire Danes) since the Emmy-winning series first launched. Yet after the terror attacks in Paris last month, Homeland has seemed increasingly and tragically prescient as the espionage thriller focused on an ISIS terror cell plotting a major attack in a European capitol (Berlin) by smuggling deadly weapons from Syria to Europe through an unsecured border while its characters heatedly debate President Obama’s ISIS strategy and the ethics of electronic surveillance.

Below, EW spoke to showrunner Alex Gansa just minutes after he finished the final edit on the show’s season finale, which will air this Sunday. The season’s last episode completed filming just after the Nov. 13 attacks, but the rest of the season was written and shot before those tragic events. “I have to preface this by saying that I just wish our fiction hadn’t hewed so closely to the fact of Paris,” Gansa said. “It was something that his us all hard at Homeland. I was on my way to Berlin to film the big action sequence that will end episode 12 on the day after the Paris attacks; it was a bizarre time to be flying to Europe to film the finale of this season.”

  19. Putin signs law allowing Russia to overturn rulings of international rights courts

    http://www.oann.com/putin-signs-law-allowing-russia-to-overturn-rulings-of-international-rights-courts/

MOSCOW (Reuters) – President Vladimir Putin has signed a law allowing Russia’s Constitutional Court to decide whether or not to implement rulings of international human rights courts.

The law, published on Tuesday on the government website, enables the Russian court to overturn decisions of the Strasbourg-based European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) if it deems them unconstitutional.

Human Rights Watch has said the law is designed to thwart the ability of victims of human rights violations in Russia to find justice through international bodies.

The law comes after the ECHR ruled in 2014 that Russia must pay a 1.9 billion euro ($2.09 billion) award to shareholders of the defunct Yukos oil company, a verdict that added to financial pressure on Moscow as it struggles with shrinking revenues due to tumbling oil prices and Western sanctions.

  20. ‘Secret’ rule prohibiting social media checks for foreign visa applicants doesn’t protect AMERICANS

    http://libertyunyielding.com/2015/12/14/secret-rule-for-visa-applicants-prevented-dhs-officials-from-checking-san-bernardino-shooters-social-media-posts/

The hits just keep on coming. It’s almost as if the 2 December terror attack in San Bernardino was designed to be a wake-up call to Americans about how badly our government is failing us, when it comes to its number one job: national security.

First there were disclosures that the Obama administration shut down an intelligence effort that would have identified terrorist Syed Farook. There were also allegations that the Obama White House told the FBI to “downplay” the reality that this was a terrorist attack.

Then we learned on Friday that female terrorist Tashfeen Malik underwent three background checks applying for her K-1 visa – and all three missed her social media postings in support of violent jihad.

Now we learn that there’s a reason for that. The Department of Homeland Security has had a “secret,” or at least a previously undisclosed, policy of not reviewing the social media activity of visa applicants

  21. Two H O M E L E S S Arabs attack soldiers at Rome cathedral

(ANSA) – Rome, December 15 – A Palestinian and a Tunisian national were arrested after they tried to disarm soldiers stationed outside Santa Maria Maggiore cathedral while yelling “Allah (God) is great”, Rome police said Tuesday.

When police intervened, the two men aged 40 and 30 called other foreigners in the area to their aid, and assaulted and threatened the arresting officers.

After they were taken to the police station, they continued to speak out against law enforcement and Europe in both Arabic and Italian.

They were charged with resisting and threatening an officer and instigation to commit a crime with intent to commit terrorist acts, slapped with an expulsion order, and taken to a migrant reception center in the southern city of Bari prior to repatriation.

A background check revealed they had several expulsion orders pending, police said.

  22. DEUTSCHE WELLE – Pope Francis urges countries to review laws on refugees, migrants

Laws on migration should “reflect a readiness to welcome migrants and to facilitate their integration,” according to the Argentine pontiff. He was speaking as thousands seek entry to the EU, many via Italy.

In a call for compassion for the poor and vulnerable, on Tuesday urged countries to review immigration laws and integrate migrants in an appeal that strikes at the heart of debates in Europe and the United States over the issue.

“With regard to migrants, I would ask that legislation on migration be reviewed, so, while respecting reciprocal rights and responsibilities, it can reflect a readiness to welcome migrants and to facilitate their integration,” he said the occasion of the Roman Catholic Church’s World Day of Peace.

“Special concern should be paid to the conditions for legal residency, since having to live clandestinely can lead to criminal behavior,” the pontiff, born Jorge Mario Bergoglio, said.

The annual message is sent to world leaders, international organizations and the United Nations.

The pontiff’s message comes as some EU members have responded to the biggest refugee crisis to hit the continent since World War II by erecting barriers and rejecting a German proposal of a quota system to settle refugees across member states.

Meanwhile, immigration in the United States remains a divisive issue ahead of the 2016 presidential election. Conservative Republicans have repeatedly slammed President Barack Obama’s immigration reform to bring some 5 million illegal immigrants – US residents for many years in most cases – out of the shadows.

A plan to increase the number of Syria refugees allowed asylum in the United States has similarly faced resistance from Republicans.

Leading Republican candidate Donald Trump has gone so far as to call for a wall along the US-Mexican border, deporting up to 11 million immigrants and preventing Muslims from entering the country.

In February, the pope is schedule to visit Mexico where he plans to address immigration during a mass on the US-Mexican border.

Pope Francis also touched on other issues including wars, poverty, the death penalty, prison reform, unemployment and the environment.

Germany: Bavaria’s Seehofer calls for restriction on refugee numbers

“I am convinced that without a restriction, or repatriation or reduction of refugees, or quotas of refugees, we favour the restriction, without this restriction we will not succeed to solve the problem in a wise, humane and reasonable way in the eyes of our people in a reasonable timeframe.”

We should focus on trying to achieve this reduction and restriction of the number of refugees effectively and with a clear repatriation because at the end of the day the political payoff will depend on the number of refugees.”

  23. Turkey detains suspected IS suicide bomber

ANKARA, Turkey (AP) — Turkey’s state-run news agency says police have detained a Syrian Islamic State militant suspected of planning a suicide attack against the U.S. Consulate in Istanbul.

Anadolu Agency said the man was detained on Tuesday in Kahramanmaras, a province close to the border with Syria. It didn’t cite a source for the report.

The U.S. Consulate was closed down last week over an unspecified threat. Unconfirmed Turkish news reports had said the closure was related to intelligence that an IS militant planning attacks had crossed into Syria from Turkey.

“Police opened fire Tuesday on unarmed Shiite Muslim protesters in the northern city of Kaduna, leaving three dead Tuesday, the spokesman for Shiites in Nigeria said, as activists accused soldiers of having killed hundreds of Shiites in “a massacre” in a nearby town in recent days.

Spokesman Ibrahim Musa of the Shiite Islamic Movement in Nigeria says 10 people were also wounded when police shot “peaceful protesters.” They were demanding the international community condemn the mass killings over the weekend in the ancient Muslim university town of Zaria, and demanding the military release their leader, Ibraheem Zakzaky.

  26. Le Pen Cleared of Charges Linked to Muslim Prayer Comments (abcnews, Dec 15, 2015)
    http://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/le-pen-cleared-charges-linked-muslim-prayer-comments-35776531

“A French court on Tuesday acquitted French far-right leader Marine Le Pen of incitement to hatred, a charge leveled after she compared Muslim street prayers to a foreign occupation.

A court in Lyon followed the prosecution’s demand that Le Pen, who made the remark five years ago, be cleared, according to her lawyer, David Dassa-Le Deist.

The ruling, delivered in writing, came two days after Le Pen’s anti-immigration National Front party gained a record number of votes but still suffered a stinging defeat in France’s regional election.

Four anti-racism associations had filed a complaint after Le Pen said in a 2010 political rally in the southeast city of Lyon that Muslim street prayers could be compared to the Nazi occupation of France. Le Pen had faced up to a year in prison and a 45,000-euro ($50,000) fine if convicted. Her father, Jean-Marie Le Pen, has been convicted several times of the same charge but never imprisoned.

“For those who like to talk about the Second World War, if we’re talking about occupation, we can talk …,” she said at the 2010 rally. “This (street prayer) is an occupation of parts of territory, neighborhoods … Certainly, there are no tanks, no soldiers, but it is nevertheless an occupation.”

The court ruled that Le Pen had committed no hate offense because she made no specific reference to Muslims. The prosecutor had requested acquittal on grounds of freedom of expression….”

  27. Bulgaria: Ataka supporters protest against Turkish PM’s visit to Sofia

Hundreds of supporters of the Ataka party rallied outside the Bulgarian parliament in Sofia, Tuesday, to protest against the state visit of Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu. Davutoglu is in Sofia to hold bilateral talks with Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov and President Rosen Plevneliev.

During the rally the chairman of Ataka, Volen Siderov, condemned the downing a Russian Su-24 by Turkey on November 24. “We can’t accept this to happen anymore, because the strike against Russia, is a strike against the Orthodox community all over the world,” Siderov said.

It is difficult to comprehend how Syed Rizwan Farook and his wife Tashfeen Malik who murdered fourteen people and wounded twenty-one in San Bernardino, California could be radicalized to commit mass murder and leave behind a six month old baby. The reason this is so difficult for Americans to grasp is the myth that there are universal values that every culture shares, particularly the love of life, pursuit of happiness, freedom and feelings such as maternal instincts. When people drastically deviate from these so called norms they are viewed as mentally ill or psychopathological. The reason mass murderers are designated as psychopaths is because the FBI’s analysis of violent crimes is based on behavioral science methodologies that primarily look at psychology and personality traits as opposed to a cultural methodology that interprets violence from the offenders point of view.

The American obsession with looking to psychology to explain every aspect of life is in itself a cultural construct. Prior to the introduction of the field of psychology inexplicable events were interpreted in terms of religious and moral values, in concepts of good and evil. Behavioral psychologists attempt to categorize expressions of good and evil into normative universal characteristics of human behavior. Another goal of criminal psychology is to attempt to identify the characteristics that predispose offenders to violence such as childhood abuse, social, economic and other factors. The flaw in this methodology, particularly for counterterrorism, is that it is based on the myth of universality, that all people share the same basic desires. The opposite more effective method is based on a methodology that utilizes relativism, interpreting violent crime from cultural (or sub-cultural) beliefs including ethical, religious and moral values. In cultural anthropology this difference in analysis is referred to as ‘etic’ and ‘emic’. An etic analysis is an extrinsic approach that views a culture from the perspective of an outsider while an emic analysis is an intrinsic approach that views culture from the natives’ point of view.

A cultural analysis of the motivations for the San Bernardino mass murder is based on the premise that the offenders were Islamic true believers. From this cultural perspective they would consider themselves to be good and righteous Muslims who were obligated to kill Satanic infidels (dis-believers). As Islamic true believers the violence would be justified as warriors, martyrs, waging holy war (jihad) against evil. As martyrs they believe they will go immediately to a higher level of paradise where they will be protected from the torments of the grave and significantly can intercede on behalf of the infant they left behind to join them in Paradise and be a family again for eternity not just their temporary time on earth. From this perspective Tashfeen Malik would be considered a good mother, one that sacrificed her life for her child. Farook would be considered a good father and son who gave up his life to intercede for his mother, daughter and other family members in Paradise. These beliefs do not meet any of the criteria for psychopathy, in fact their killings were rational choices based on their religious beliefs. The fact that most Americans find it incomprehensible demonstrates Western behavioral bias and the inability to name the enemy and comprehend the Islamic ideology that motivates the violence.

  29. From Black September to Bloody December
Islamic terrorist savagery, then and now.

On December 2, Syed Farook and Tashfeen Malik murdered 14 people in San Bernardino, California. That horrific terrorist attack, the worst since 9/11, overshadowed another story that emerged the same day and on the same theme: the true nature of Islamic terrorism.

On September 5, 1972, during the Olympic Games in Munich, Palestinian terrorists took 11 Israeli athletes hostage. They shot weightlifter Yossef Romano when he fought back, and as the December 2, 2015 New York Times noted, “he was then left to die in front of the other hostages and castrated. Other hostages were beaten and sustained serious injuries, including broken bones.”

The Black September terrorists, a branch of the PLO, killed Romano and another hostage at the Olympic village and the others during a failed rescue attempt at an airport. The attack dominated the news but not all the details emerged. The German authorities knew about the mutilation of Yossef Romano and the savage beatings of others but kept this information under wraps.

Twenty years later in 1992, as the New York Times story charted, Israeli widows Ilana Romano and Ankie Spitzer, whose husband Andre was a fencing coach, met with their lawyer, Pinchas Zeltzer. On a trip to Munich Zeltzer had gone through hundreds of pages of reports the German authorities had declined to reveal. The attorney gained possession of some photographs which the women, against his advice, insisted on viewing. The lawyer even wanted a doctor present when they did view the pictures.

  30. Santa Maria Maggiore which was in today’s stories re soldiers at a church being attacked.
I was there in August and there was a Jeep with armed Soldiers there at all times….They had automatic weapons….
This is very close to the Termini bus and rail terminal, and a busy area.

    • We read about attacks only after the fact. How many more places are in danger, places that require police guard at all times?

      • I doubt if you can get the governments to tell you, the fact that they have to be guarded says that their policies are a failure and the more places requiring guards the greater the failure. No government will admit it failed to that estent.

  31. UN Experts Say Iran Missile Firing Violated UN Sanctions (abcnews, Dec 15, 2015)
    http://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/experts-iran-missile-firing-violated-sanctions-35781889

“Iran’s firing of a medium-range ballistic missile in October violated U.N. sanctions banning the Islamic Republic from launches capable of delivering nuclear weapons, U.N. experts said in a new report.

The report submitted to the U.N. Security Council and seen by The Associated Press on Tuesday said the launch used ballistic missile technology banned under a June 2010 resolution.

The Oct. 10 launch was the first test of a ballistic surface-to-surface missile after Iran and six world powers reached a landmark nuclear deal on July 14. The Security Council endorsed the deal in a resolution on July 20 that also called on Iran not to undertake any activity related to ballistic missiles capable of delivering nuclear weapons.

Iran says none of its missiles are designed to carry nuclear weapons.

The report said the missile had a range of at least 1,000 kilometers (620 miles) and up to 1,300 kilometers, and a payload of at least 1,000 kilograms (2,200 pounds) and up to 1,400 kilograms.

But the panel said a missile with a range of at least 300 kilometers and a payload of at least 500 kilograms — far smaller than the one launched on Oct. 10 — is considered by expert guidelines to be capable of delivering weapons of mass destruction.

The United States, France, Britain and Germany asked the Security Council on Oct. 21 to investigate and take “appropriate action” against Iran for the Oct. 10 missile launch.

The Dec. 11 report by experts from the council committee monitoring sanctions against Iran supports the contention of the four countries that the firing violated U.N. sanctions.

Whether the Security Council takes any action remains to be seen. It was expected to receive a briefing from the Iran sanctions committee later Tuesday.

Under the July nuclear deal, most sanctions on Iran will be lifted when its provisions are implemented in exchange for curbs on its nuclear program. But the experts’ report noted that “ballistic missile launches would be covered” under the July 20 resolution.

Iran’s Defense Minister Gen. Hossein Dehghan, said at the time of the Oct. 10 launch that the missile, named Emad or pillar in Farsi, was a technological achievement for Iran — able to be controlled until the moment of impact and to hit targets “with high precision.”

He said it “will obviously boost the strategic deterrence capability of our armed forces.”

The panel said it has not yet investigated a subsequent Iranian ballistic missile launch reported by the media on Nov. 21 and therefore “cannot determine whether it was another Emad test.”

Based on video footage of the Oct. 10 launch, the panel said the Emad delivery system was identified as “the Ghadr-1 medium-range single stage liquid-fueled ballistic missile.” It said the Ghadr-1 is an advanced version of Iran’s Shabab-3 ballistic missile system and the reentry vehicle possesses a guidance system and steerable fins.”

  32. Two Lawmakers Suggest Bringing Muslim Guests to State of the Union (nbcnews, Dec 15, 2015)
    http://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/two-lawmakers-suggest-bringing-muslim-guests-state-union-n480581

“Two Democratic lawmakers are urging their colleagues to bring a Muslim American constituent as their guest to the January 12th State of the Union.

Rep. Keith Ellison, D-Minn – the first Muslim American elected to Congress — and Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, D-Fla. — also the chair of the Democratic National Committee — emailed both Republican and Democratic House members Tuesday suggesting they reach out to Muslims in their home districts following the “shocking and alarming rise in hateful rhetoric against one particular minority population in our nation.”

The letter never explicitly mentions Donald Trump by name but reads “Leading political figures have made offensive and outrageous suggestions that we should create a national registry of all people of one particular faith and that we should prevent any person of that faith from even entering this great country.”

Ellison and Wasserman Schultz are showing their solidarity with Muslim Americans after Trump’s proposal to ban Muslims from entering the United States by each bringing a Muslim American constituent to hear President Barack Obama’s final State of the Union as president.

The letter ends: “we are asking our colleagues that have not already determined a State of the Union guest to consider joining us in bringing a Muslim-American constituent as their guest to the President’s State of the Union Address on January 12, 2016. We must show our compatriots and the world that we will not be intimidated by fear into discrimination.””

  33. THE SAN BERNARDINO TERRORISTS WEREN’T RADICALS — THEY WERE MAINSTREAM
A huge tiny minority of extremists.

After Tashfeen Malik and Syed Farook killed 14 Americans in their corner of the Jihad over in San Bernardino, the media began its long laborious search for their moment of “radicalization”.

The assumption that the intersection of terrorism and Islam can only be an aberration lead to the conviction that there was some moment in time at which Malik and Farook became “radical extremists”. Initial reports pegged that moment of “radicalization” as having happened at some point during the twenty minutes after Farook left the party. When the amount of firepower and preparation made the idea of a twenty minute radicalization massacre seem silly, the media tried to stretch it back for weeks.

  34. EXCLUSIVE – Sarah Palin: Marion Maréchal-Le Pen and 16 Centuries of Christian France

I have a political crush, but one I couldn’t vote for today – because she ran for office in France.

Marion Maréchal-Le Pen is the new deserved “It Girl” of French politics and a clear voice of courage and common sense in a country and continent in need of both.
In 2012, she earned the distinction of being France’s youngest elected Member of Parliament. Last week she handily won the first round of a race for the leadership of a large important region in southeastern France that’s home to the beautiful port city of Marseilles. Unfortunately, she lost the run-off election today because the two establishment Parties joined forces to defeat her.

    • The Left wraps itself in political correctness and multiculturalism like a suicide vest.

      I like it.
'course I'm a fan: I find quotables in everything she writes.

        • I think she pulled out of seeking political office because of the attack on her kids, those were a new low for the left which may well be passed in the 2016 election.
